Kind of a dumb request but how about team DEFY + any girls you want with an s/o who somehow managed to build a mech straight out of Armored Core? Insanely maneuverable, loads of guns, can fly, etc and s/o built it in a garage with a box of scraps lol

(Video Source: Pongsifu on YT) Luckily for you, I have been binging Armored Core 6 for the past month, and will hop on ANY request to talk/write about anything Mecha related.

12 stared at the giant 10 meter mechanical behemoth that had suddenly made its home inside Griffin's Hangar.

(AK-12) "...We didn't always have that, right?"

The machine's chest slowly opened and revealed a cockpit containing S/O, waving hello from the seat.

Apparently, they had constructed the mech out of spare parts lying around.

(AK-12) "Impressive...But, why exactly did Griffin have that many parts lying around? And how did you find guns that big?"

On the battlefield, she watches the mech fly around at almost breakneck speed, watching them zip around and eradicate one base after the other.

Kicking tanks and shooting helicopters out of the sky, it was far more effective to watch them fight instead of having to do anything.

(AK-12) "Hm. We'll be out of a job at this rate."

94 knew this was going to happen.

T-Dolls would only last so long on the battlefield before they were replaced by the next best thing.

However, she sure as hell wasn't expecting S/O of all people to surpass her, with a mech constructed out of junk parts no less.

It was honestly awe-inspiring what humans could engineer for the sole purpose of destruction.

And it was also physically impossible. Something that size should not be quad-wielding miniguns and moving that fast.

(AN-94) "...How has your machine not collapsed from the Earth's gravity?"

94 is more confused than anything.

15 was impressed more than anything.

She knew S/O was an engineer, but to construct a mech out of the parts they had was nothing short of a miracle and logic-defying technical prowess.

(AK-15) "How does your machine constantly reload the missiles while on the field? It is the only weapon you seem to have, and no one constructed missiles that large, even during World War 3."

She can't help but wonder why DEFY was even needed if Griffin had engineers like S/O around.

Well, at least S/O was on their side.

(RPK-16) "I wonder if humanity will wipe itself out faster with these new machines."

16 is fascinated by the human desire to make machines to wipe out life faster.

Granted, Griffin usually just fought Sangvis which consisted nothing of machines, but it would only be a matter of time until everyone else had their own version of S/O's mech.

And probably not one constructed out of junk either.

(RPK-16) "I must ask, S/O. How can you be in the cockpit of that thing and not reduce yourself to jelly? Surely the G-Force alone would kill you?"

Well, it's not the first thing that humans have done that confused her.

(Angelia) "Hmph. Why did they even bother calling us if they had you here? And could you have done that this entire time?"

Angelia is impressed and annoyed.

If S/O could create a hulking machine of death before, why did they only decide to do it now?

She both dreads and admired S/O's tenacity. To make such an effective machine out of junk took a hell of a lot of elbow grease.

Angelia doesn't question it, seeing that it's working alright so far, but she definitely wants to look into upgrading it.

(Angelia) "S/O, with me. We're painting DEFY's logo on it."

(Amber) "THAT IS SO COOL!"

Amber could create Baron Bunnies with a lot of yarn, but S/O could make a machine that dwarfed Ruin Guards with some random pieces of metal!

(Amber) "You have got to teach me how to do that! And lemme ride it too!"

Amber demands to fly with S/O, even though she can't go nearly as fast as they can.

She watches as S/O wipes out entire nests of monsters before leaping away with its mantis-like legs to the next location.

Honestly, it made her feel jealous.

(Amber) "Heeey, can I ask one of those for my birthday! I bet it'll make flying around Mondstadt a breeze!"

Though as the outrider, she kindly asks S/O not to park the giant machine weighing presumably hundreds of tons in the city.

For obvious reasons.

The color on Jean's skin fades when she heard Klee helped S/O build a brand new toy.

One that put her bombs to shame.

And seeing it park itself next to the cathedral, waving hello to her as she was standing at the entrance-

She was about ready to faint.

(Jean) "S/O! Get down from there right this instant!"

Jean gives S/O and Klee an earful for making such an absolute monstrosity that could potentially damage the land and city!

But seeing it in action and fast it disposed of a Hilichurl camp, it filled her with pride and dread.

Pride for her S/O's creative ingenuity, but absolute fear for what S/O and Klee could make next.

Especially considering how fast S/O's machine moved, and the weapons it had.

Where did Klee find the gunpowder for quad-cannons mounted on it?!

(Jean) "I pray that it won't blow up the city on accident..."

(Fischl) "...WHAT?!"

Fischl completely breaks character upon seeing the giant machine staring at her.

(Fischl) "How did...Why...?! Get down from there and tell me how this mechanical monstrosity came to be!"

(Oz) "You just want to ride the machine yourself, Mein-"

(Fischl) "SILENCE!"

...But yes, she constantly nags S/O to let their Prinzessin give the machine a try.

She finds it so friggin' cool, and desperately wants one of her own, in purple!

She watches with some kind of morbid satisfaction watching S/O's machine wipe out their enemies in electrical explosions.

(Fischl) "I hereby dub your steel horse…Raven, of the 621th star!"

(Oz) "…Why 621?"

Oh, that's where all of Yoimiya's spare fireworks have been going into.

(Yoimiya) "HOLY CRAP! What on earth did you make, S/O?!"

The machine seemed like it leapt from another world!

Especially with how fast it moved, honestly she was amazed S/O wasn't vomiting their guts out as soon as they exited.

While it seemed like it would do massive damage, instead they used it for something even better.

As the machine soared above the skies of Inazuma, the cannons on the arms and shoulders fired toward the moon, the starry night exploding into hundreds of beautiful colors!

They had transformed their machine into a firework powerhouse!

And with how fast it moved, it was able to provide a show from one island to another!

(Yoimiya) "Next festival, you're letting me ride with you! I want to see the work we've done up close!"

Look! It’s Wagan! From Wagan! What is Wagan (character)? Why, Wagan is a wonderful little green robotic dinosaur sort of guy who is good at making noises! What is Wagan (media)? Good question!

Here is a photo of Wagan in real life. Wagan is real! The original Wagan is an arcade machine by Namco, but I honestly cannot find much information at all about it. I don’t THINK it’s a game. More of an interactive toy? Here is a video! Hear his noises and watch his mouth flap about!

Wagan’s physical prison is labeled THE EMOTIONAL WEAPON, VOICE-CANNON “WAGAN”. I guess this is some kind of. Yelling game? The presence of a megaphone makes me think you yell at Wagan, and Wagan yells at you, and I don’t know the point, but it is really funny, and of course the actual physical Wagan robot is incredibly cute!

Luckily, Wagan would later enter a form of media I CAN comprehend! Scrimblo bimblo platformers! This is Wagan Land, which became Wagan’s Main Thing for a while, and hmm. I have things to say about this.

First is, WOW this game is cute! Look! When Wagan is falling in the air, his mouth flaps up, like Mario’s hat in Super Mario World! That’s so wonderful! And look at that SNAIL! The first enemy you see in the game, and what a great first impression! All the character sprites are delightfully compact. The thing that looks like a Wagan fetus is a Waganizer, which upgrades his Yelling ability, which is used to stun enemies so they can be jumped upon safely.

Very charmingly, Wagan’s yells are represented by the actual sound he says, shot out as a projectile! These have been lovingly translated in the fan translation, so you can make him yell WA, GYA, and GA. If you make him say GA twice, then just call him Lisa Simpson, because he’s Going Gaga!

The Waganizer was first a toy, and this sure looks like a gun huh! But it is a voice recorder and amplifier. I guess it is like having a bit of Wagan of your own, in Weapon form? To Blast your voice at others? I’m not sure why it had to look so incredibly like a gun, though!

Also, this post is about Wagan himself, but I HAVE to mention there is a Mola mola in this game! A pink sleepy one that flies above the water, and is the ONLY creature in the game that Wagan can safely touch by default, allowing him to ride on top of it! I do not know why a robot dies upon touching a snail. Sorry.

This game sounds so lovely, doesn’t it? It does! So it’s too bad it SUCKS and is TERRIBLE and I HATE it so much!!! And I don’t want to do any of that... but it forces me to!

The platforming sections are all fine and dandy. But the bosses, oh dearie me! Instead of battles, they play a minigame with you, and these are absolutely wretched! There is a word chain game and a memory game, neither of which are good, and both of which feel very easy to get locked out of winning due to randomness. And if you lose, you Die. It’s really not fun whatsoever to have to play a minigame you may very well not have any chance of winning, and they are so common that it sadly ruins the whole game... Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but I don’t think it should be so hard to see what to do right! It feels like a game for babies that wants nobody to succeed.

However! I must give a MAJOR shout-out to AlanMidas of romhacking.net for making this English translation of the game, because translating this word chain game and all its intricacies must have been absolute hell! So thank you, AlanMidas! Or curse you? For being the reason I was able to play this at all? But mostly thank you. And I applaud your effort. I mean, they were able to make the pig icon work by referring to it as an “oinker”. I applaud an oinker any day.

Geez, I don’t want to be so negative on one of these posts. I do love Wagan (creature) a whole lot! Want to see him playing baseball?

- Bowser is very interested in your work and how you're able to make pretty much any weapons no matter what. He’s surprised that he could just tell you what he wants to defeat Mario and you’ll just follow what he does and make it in however long it’ll take to make it. As I said before he’s surprised however he’s also kind of concerned that you're not taking care of yourself in between these creations. Despite being a villain whose only goal is to get the princess when it comes to his own beings like bowser jr, the koopalings and whoever is close to him he cares deeply for them and would do anything to make sure that they are ok.

- Adding on from the previous point, if he does find out that you're not taking care of yourself and mostly focusing on creating new weapons he’ll order you to stop. I can imagine him picking you up like it was nothing and placing you somewhere where you can relax. He’ll make his other people like kamek to give you stuff and make sure that you're actually relaxing and not trying to sneak off.

- Speaking of Kamek, I can imagine you being in constant communication with his other henchmen like the koopalings and junior since people Roy use weapons as well. Due to this you’ll probably have a close friendship with them mostly with Iggy and Roy. For iggy I have a headcanon he has a massive interest in science/biology so of course you two are going to be close. You two often exchange stuff about certain topics and Iggy constantly tells you about new weapons you can create. Even asking for the blueprints of the weapons/creation you make, that's how interested he is in them. As for Roy you were the one who created his bullet launcher thing (or whatever it’s called) and honestly he was impressed with it. He definitely likes to rely on you if anything happens to it or if he wants an upgrade done to it.

- For Bowser Jr you also have close communications with him due to him obviously being bowser’s son and you constantly giving bowser new weapons he can use and with junior being a child or at least having the personality/behavior of a child of course he’s going to get curious and would like you to make him some weapons of his own just like his father. Of course you do it for him with the bowser's permission of course and build him weapons of his own. Maybe not as great as his father but still good enough that he would be happy with the results and of course he is happy with the results. He pretty much runs up to you and hugs you tight like he just received the best thing in the world and immediately goes and uses it.

- Due to your job you're obviously going to have to be close with bowser because he has to communicate to you about the weapons he wants and you have to communicate to him to see if he likes the weapons. As mentioned in the first two points he does care for you and wants to make sure that you don’t overwork yourself. If you ever have points in time when you are doubting about the things you’ve created or ever thinking you're not good enough to work for someone like him he will assure that you're doing great and that he doesn’t regret picking you for assembling his weapons. Even if there was a time that your weapons didn’t work to the extent you wanted to, he isn't going to blame you for those malfunctions and he’ll tell you that there will be a time when these things happen.

- If there were some people/koopa’s blaming you for the failure of the weapons you know damn well he’ll be doing something about them. He’s definitely not going to let one of his assistants be looked down upon and being blamed for something that couldn’t be helped. He doesn’t have a problem teaching them a lesson in order for them to leave you alone and if he sees you being affected by these comments after dealing with said person/koopa as said before he’ll assure you that you’ve done nothing wrong and you did your best.

- Overall, despite what he is known for he’s definitely way better than what he has been described by and can overall be seen as some sort of father figure almost.

My Top 10 Favorite Games I Played In 2023

In chronological order. It's a long one.

Titanfall 2

I've been told to play this for years now, though for most of those I did not really know why, as it never seemed like my kind of game. But, ever since I started really getting into mecha sometime in 2022, I decided to finally give it a try. I'm very glad I did. Titanfall 2 is a criminally short First Person Shooter with a very fun mech/pilot dynamic, really good mechanics of movement and combat for both, and some of my favorite level design of any game I've played in a long while. The platforming is crazy good! The mechanics are tight as hell! The mech is awesome! I recommend Titanfall 2 for literally anyone reading this.

Mega Man Zero

The Zero series is the one that most called to me in the Mega Man franchise every time I looked these games over, and I was right in that judgement. While I couldn't say if I was going to appreciate most of the GBA era action platformer difficulty or not, it was clear from Zero's more agile movement and bite-sized missions with very memorization-heavy bosses that I would enjoy it. And I did enjoy it a lot! Most of the bosses kicked my ass but it was an absolute blast to finally learn their patterns enough to defeat them. The problem is, I went out of my way to not get any of the game's health upgrades or energy tanks, making the final boss so hard for me that after days and days of attempts I gave up. Not beating Mega Man Zero is probably my biggest regret of the year lmao

Fate/Stay Night

Honestly, what do I even say? You can see my Saber icon, right? Fate is a franchise I never bothered to get close to, knowing of its name only through vague images and names of more popular characters (not even from FGO, just in general), and from later on getting to know that Fate/Grand Order was the game it is I felt like it wasn't for me at all and who cares. So when I learned what the original VN was actually about I felt stupid. How could something so fitting to my tastes have gone under my radar for so long...? Despite not being much of a reader in general, F/SN is a very long game that feels like it's just as short as you need it to be. The prose flows so well, every single character is lovable in many ways, and there's so much passion written into them and the situations they're in that it's one of the most smooth-flowing VNs I've read (which granted are not many) even though it's around the high 6 digit wordcounts. I love this game dearly.

Stranger of Paradise - Final Fantasy Origin

I wanted to play this game since the first few trailers! How cruel was it that, not only did I not have a powerful enough machine at the time, but the game wasn't even on Steam until the year after release? Final Fantasy Origin is the game it presents itself to be. There's something about it that's so special to a certain kind of person (which I happen to be one of) and that falls flat for everyone else. The combat and its many Weapons, Jobs and Skills to use are just fantastic in how nice they feel, and I really do like the type of story Stranger tells. I haven't finished it yet, but I'm close to it. I like to describe Stranger of Paradise as everything good about PS2 and PS3 games in a modern title.

Pseudoregalia

An old feeling from a new friend. Pseudoregalia is everything I like in 3D Platforming, and a little bit of what I don't. If you've ever looked at a single gif or video of Super Mario 64 and thought, "this looks pretty fun to play," you should be playing Pseudoregalia. If you like goat ladies with big butts, I can't say I understand if that would sell you on a game or not, but it is a feature everyone mentions. I wrote on this game already, so please do check that out and get it. It's one of the three titles of this list that came out this year, and I have not heard enough people talk about it.

Armored Core VI - Fires of Rubicon

My favorite in this list, which is funny because I don't know what to say about it at all. Armored Core is a series I've been studying up on from the outside for a while, and the announcement for this title was my reason to finally dive in. Unfortunately, I did not get past playing the first mission of AC1 a few times and booting up AC3 once. But I will get to it eventually! Fires of Rubicon is one hell of an action game, that I adored for every single one of my (currently) 67 hours of play. Going through the campaign with builds a little too busted for the AI most of the time was my dishonorable focus of the experience, but there's a lot else to do for every kind of person. The amount of freedom you have for messing with your builds for either single or multiplayer is not to be underestimated. Though it could be better. Here's hoping there will be a game that is.

Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition Remix

I played this game as a kid so much that the main menu and its theme are scarred into my mind, yet this whole time I had no idea what the game was actually like due to the fact that most of my playtime was doing a few races and just cruising around. Once you dive into trying to finish the story, MC3 is a much different experience. One that frustrated me so much, I got actually ill from the stress. Please take breaks, gamers! Your health is more important than finishing an 18 year old game! Still, I did eventually do it. Midnight Club 3's handling model and gameplay structure are really impressive in comparison to the much more popular Need for Speed series, and I have to admit I did enjoy the game a lot. It's just a lot harder than it ever needed to be. I'll probably never forget this game, and that's not really a good or bad thing. Just, advice from me, if it gets too hard, maybe switch to sports bikes. Buy that Ducati.

Test Drive Unlimited

Another car game, but this one I have the least to say about of any on this list. I had played TDU on PS2 multiple times before and thought it was awesome. The atmosphere and immersion of this game are unrivaled by any racing game to this day. But playing the PC version with a steering wheel and pedals made everything so much more incredible. I played the Platinum mod, which adds hundreds more cars and fixes a lot of issues with the original game (but not all of them; the game was still really rough and I hate how much the resolution is a pain to change). Overall, one of my favorite experiences with a steering wheel controller so far. Otherwise, a pretty good game if you like driving.

Super Mario Sunshine

An old friend, and a new feeling. I don't play 3D platformers as much as I wish I did, because they're really not part of my main priorities looking for games lately, but every time I play a Mario game, it's like I found love again. It was not the first time I played Super Mario Sunshine, as I had collected a dozen or so Sprites years before, but playing the whole game in I think two weeks during the latter half of the year was such an incredible experience. Unless for some reason you play it on the Switch, Sunshine is a game that loves you as much as you love it. And you do love it, right? I know I do. I'd love to play this game many other times in the future. Granted, that applies to every game here, I just wanted to say it out loud for this one.

Lethal Company

A fairly recent release! Having played it with many groups of people by now, both modded and vanilla, I think Lethal Company is probably one of my favorite multiplayer experiences ever. It is scary and hilarious, but also just really really good, to a level that surprised me for my quality standards of co-op (horror) games. Lethal Company turns friends into improvised horror movie actors and it's incredible. I'm almost at 30 hours played and will likely get to 40 at minimum. It's also pretty cheap and likely runs well on all sorts of machines, so consider checking this one out too.

Witch on the Holy Night and Story of Seasons - Friends of Mineral Town are games I am adoring and could definitely go on this list, hadn't I started them both quite late into December. Maybe next year I'll give them a shoutout!

Christian’s Pov:

I remember Y/n telling me about the night terrors she used to get when she was a kid. They had gotten so bad that she got sent to a sleep clinic, which seemed to do the trick. Now here we are 25 years later experiencing the same thing. Although she said they were not the same as when she was a kid, she didn’t wake up screaming or crying but the waking up in a cold sweat, confusion, scared, paranoia and insomnia remained. It hurt me seeing her like this.

I wasn’t a doctor but I knew this stress wouldn't be good for the baby. This drama with LuFisto had gone too far, she was sending us death threats. Isla was getting home schooled and Y/n was always worried that someone was out to get her. Of course if you have a stalker one of the first things you would do is get the hell away from wherever it was you were. In the meantime while Y/n and I looked for somewhere else to move we upgraded our security. Most nights having a car outside the home. Although the price was ridiculous I didn’t care we could afford it and if it helped Y/n’s peace of mind I didn’t care. This whole situation was ruining my family.

Currently I sat in the kitchen, phone in hand. I had called the police for the third time this week and because no one had physically done anything they couldn't help. Just as I was about to head upstairs I noticed Y/n sleeping on the couch. Poor thing hadn't slept in days, doctors advising her to remain in bed for the duration of her pregnancy due to all of the stress. I placed a blanket over her and sat next to her. “I promise, everything is going to be ok. I am going to fix things” I knew Y/n was asleep and won't be able to hear me but my words were true. I took to twitter giving my two cents. ‘I am sick and tired of LuFisto and her goons harassing my family. I’m sure everyone knows that Y/n has done nothing wrong here. She is eight months pregnant and on bedrest because of your bull shit. You have been continuing to stalk us for months and I will be filling a restraining order. My daughter is getting homeschooled and I am not working because of your bullshit. I honestly don’t get it, it has been over a year and we are still dealing with your shit. I would appreciate it if you leave me and my family alone.’

I decided that I would join Y/n on the couch this evening. No way I was going to wake her up. Just as I was starting to get comfortable I heard Isla calling me. “Daddy, there is a monster under my bed” I went into her room and turned on the lights, searching under the bed and all over the room proving that there were no monsters. Hoping that she would go back to bed. Just as I was about to leave something caught my eye. I went to the window in Isla’s room and swear I saw someone standing outside next to the large tree in the backyard. I immediately ran outside and was greeted by nothing. I searched the whole yard looking for anything, nothing. By the time I came back inside Y/n had awoken and she was comforting a scared Isla. “Is everything ok?” She asked. I lied, not wanting to scare my already terrified daughter and get Y/n worked up about probably nothing. “Everything is fine. Isla, how about you sleep in our room tonight? Grab your blanket and your stuffies and meet us in our room ok?” She instantly took me up on the offer running up the stairs to grab her things. I walked over to the sliding door to the back yard and made sure it was locked. “You saw it too, didn’t you?” Y/n asked me as she walked up to me, placing a hand on my shoulder. “You see I’m not crazy. You can see it too, what do you think it wants?” For the past few day’s Y/n had claimed to have seen something outside during the night. I went and looked for whatever it was she saw and always found nothing, this time I saw it with my own eyes. I didn’t know what to even say. I wasn’t scared, more creeped out, I was mainly angry at the fact that we had a stalker. “I don’t know” was the only words I could say. My brain was too invested in whatever it was that I saw. “How much longer until we can leave?” Y/n asked me as she lit some incense. I turned to look at her, meeting her green eyes before I looked at the boxes around the room. We had finally found a place to move, hopefully it would be temporary until we found a nicer home but the sooner we got out of this place the better. “Mover’s are coming next week, hopefully we get everything done within a day” I told her. Y/n gave me a sad smile before saying “We should go to bed, busy day tomorrow” to which I followed her. I tried to sleep but the uneasy feeling of being watched never left.

It had been a few days since I saw that creature outside. I couldn't stop thinking about it. Everything had pretty much been packed away in boxes, waiting for the movers to take our things for the new home. I woke up this morning with a gut feeling that something was wrong and I knew Y/n felt it too. I sent Isla to be with my mother for the weekend so she didn’t need to deal with this. I felt like my life had become some kind of horror movie. Hard rain and fog setting the mood for this spring day. Y/n had been clensing the house everyday for the past few months, I’m not too sure exactly how that stuff works but I know Y/n. I trusted her that whatever witchcraft she was doing would help in some way. Last night the house alarm went off and I swear I heard someone walking downstairs but when I got there I saw nothing. That had been going on for the past two nights in a row and something told me today would be no different. I went downstairs to grab a few flashlights and lanterns in case the power went out due to the storm.

As I looked in the dark closet I heard something. It sounded like someone had left the tv on. Going into our home theater I watched the image that played on the tv. It was Y/n’s and LuFisto’s match. That was weird, I was pretty sure no one went down there today and I just found it weird how of all the things that had to be playing. It freaked me out, the weird things just kept happening. Just then I heard Y/n scream. “Christian!, Christian, There is someone in the pool. Christian Cage I swear-!” I ran up the stairs to try and get to Y/n. I guess the basement door closed behind me and for some reason it didn’t open. We didn’t have a lock on the door or anything but It felt as if someone was leaning against the door, preventing me from opening it. When I finally got the door open I saw Y/n running towards me. “There is someone outside, floating in the pool.” I started walking towards the backdoor when I stopped in my tracks. There was something outside. I saw what looked like a person floating face down in our swimming pool. Whatever it was looked dead, I looked away for a second, going to reach the biggest knife we had to confront whatever it was that was outside. Just then I heard “It moved” I looked back and it was gone. Still, I told Y/n to call the cops and I went into the backyard. When I came back Y/n had tears in her eyes. “I promise I’m not crazy. You believe me right?” I knew what I saw, she was not crazy and if she was then I was crazy too. “No honey, I believe you” I told her, trying to give her a hug despite the bump in the way.

For a few moments we just stood there in silence, just then I felt a kick. “Did you feel that?”

“Yeah, she’s been very active” I knew it was only a matter of time before our daughter would be born and we had to create some stability within our life. This is no way to raise a child.

Just then I felt my stomach drop. I heard glass shattering and looked up to see the glass sliding door that led to the backyard had shattered. Someone threw a brick wrapped in some sort of material through the glass, landing only a few feet away from us. Now it really felt like a horror movie. The storm had died down but night came fast, darkness surrounding us. With just my luck the power just had to shut off and I heard it. Footsteps, the porch creaked as the footsteps became louder and closer. “The cops are on their way right?” I asked Y/n “Yeah I called them, hopefully they will come soon” I grabbed the knife and Y/n stood behind me holding a bat. “I am going to kill that fucker” I muttered mostly to myself.

In a matter of minutes that thing stood in front of me. Although it wasn’t armed you could tell that it wanted to inflict harm. Y/n and I stood back to back, she faced the front door and I faced the back. Just then the doorbell rang. “Why did you let me get that creepy doorbell?” Y/n asked, as the bell rang throughout the mostly empty house. She went to the door, trying to look at who it was, hopefully it was the cops. Of course it wasn’t, It was LuFisto. “It’s LuFisto, I’m still going to open the door. I’m going to bash that bitches brains in with this bat” I heard Y/n yell.

She opened the door and like she said, whacked LuFisto in the head with the bat, causing her to fall to her knees. Y/n just kept hitting her with the bat, causing LuFisto to scream out in agony. On my end the mutated person who stood in front of me did nothing. Standing a few feet in front of me doing nothing. Just then the creature pulled a gun out of its pocket, shit. “Umm Y/n, I think you should stop” She turned and I heard the bat drop. She saw the gun pointed directly at her. I never broke, keeping eye contact with the creacher standing confidently showing that I was not scared even though I was terrified.

Just then as if on cue, I hear sirens coming down the street. Finally, just then I heard a shot. I looked and thankfully Y/n was fine. The bullet had completely missed, hitting the front window next to the door instead. Just then I heard several police officers enter and they yelled to drop our weapons to which I did no problem. The creacher did not.

I stood next to Y/n as we watched LuFisto and that thing get arrested and put into the back of a cop car. We both gave our statements and handed over all of the security footage we had. Luckily for us everything was on film. Weeks of stalking and harassment filmed as proof, hopefully leading to some serious jail time. For the first time in a long time I felt relieved, things should go back to normal. We were safe now.

The past year has been the craziest year of my life. It didn’t even seem real, this was something from a sick movie. If this taught me anything it would be to live in the moment and not take things for granted. Hold the ones you love close and remind them how much they mean to you. This whole experience made me realize how much I loved Y/n, the things we went through together making our bond stronger than it was before. I was so in love with her and would do anything for her, anything for this baby. Anything to keep them safe, this sick and twisted experience made me realize I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Y/n. I was going to Marry her!

Jinx's Maybe New Gun is Weird

Jinx is likely due for one more weapon upgrade. Where she turns in her gun for the Zapper Gun. In the context of Arcane, Jinx's Zapper Gun is an interesting weapon. It's a shock pistol with a nice hex crystal at the front that STUNS enemy combatants rather than shooting them with the gun she has during the first season. A gun that straightforwardly just kills people (and birds). And I'm just like... why?

I can understand that she could lose the pistol she has in the next season (Hell, Legends of Runeterra is hinting at it. The alt text for this card says: "Okay, okay, this may only work once, but trust me, it’s gonna be a blast!" - Jinx). But she chooses to replace it with a fancy stun gun? Jinx is a gunsmith, she makes her own weapons, so if she lost her regular gun, why would she make a more complicated and significantly less lethal (unless you have a heart condition) weapon? It's not like Jinx is afraid to kill or hurt people. Which makes the Zapper gun such a weird and deliberate choice, and the biggest question before the new season starts really is why.

It'd be easy to just assume maybe it's a desperate short notice weapon she made on the fly when she's on a lot of people's shit lists and needs to make moves. But again, the Zap gun's more complicated and frankly more delicate to make, so she'd need time and space for it, which she won't have a lot of. So what's with the restraint?

My first thought was that Sevika got to her and put her on a strict leash to do specific missions next season and Sevika wanted to reduce the chance of friendly fire. But that would require Sevika to actually control Jinx in some way which is unlikely. No one in the show can make Jinx do anything, you can't really threaten her, and to just force her means you need to be able to have enough expendable resources to ATTEMPT to threaten her with violence, and Jinx doesn't have a healthy fear of death, so really, she has to want to do it.

Could it have been through an shaky team up with Ekko to sabotage Piltover in the coming conflict? Ekko doesn't immediately go for throat like she does, so maybe it was a compromise to reduce the potential kill count. But Ekko would have to be desperate to work with Jinx. Sure they shared a moment on the bridge, but his crew would literally need to all be dead before they let her in. Ekko would NEED to be in dire straits to temporarily work past the harm she caused him and his people.

Maybe Singed offer her refuge, maybe along with Viktor? It's one of the more far fetched thoughts. Singed isn't very compassionate, but he isn't a sadist either, he's more intensely apathetic to the world outside of his work. Maybe he takes an interest in the way the Shimmer experiment affected her physiology and wants to keep her alive to observe her. Watch how the mutation survives through her maybe.

My most far fetched idea would be she creates the Zapper Gun for Warwick. Jinx has already killed enough of her family and she doesn't want to kill her dad that came back to life, no matter how monstrous he is. Maybe Jinx would want to only incapacitate Warwick till she can get him somewhere safe with her but not only won't he calm down but the scent of blood drives his anger and bloodlust. Jinx could be trying to reduce remove any chance stimulating his bloodlust.

These are all shots in the dark honestly, maybe her electric gun with be fantasy weapon extra deadlier than a normal sufficient gun, idk.

Starfield Tips/Things I Wish I Knew Earlier

Starfield is honestly amazing if you like this kind of game, but it does seem to be pretty invested in letting you figure out how it works on your own by experimentation. And it's very easy to overlook features of the game.

So...

The traits that give you parents, a fan, and a house are really neat. You get some cool stuff from them. I only did the parents but damn I'm glad I did. So consider these.

You can make your spacesuit and helmet automatically disappear if you're in breathable atmosphere/in a settlement. This way you don't have to worry about taking them off and on and potentially leaving your ship without them. And you don't look like a dork in town. The option is in the inventory page for each of them.

You can boost/sprint when floating. This is important in the Certain Plot Relevant Places.

There is a part of New Atlantis called The Well with a bunch of people and shops and you get to it from an unmarked elevator behind Jemison Merchantile in the Spaceport (or the unmarked elevator in the MAST transit station.) I played 30 hours before I found this out.

Read the skills closely, including the locked ones. Multiple times I put points in the wrong thing, thinking it would let me do things, when that was actually a different skill elsewhere.

Don't avoid the UC Vanguard questline. A lot of people I think are avoiding it because it's joining the military on a side that is a little sketchy/sus, but there's a lot of reasons to do this EARLY.

There's a museum you go through that gives you the entire lore background and recent history of the world

There's a flight simulator "test" you can take as much as you want to practice the space combat.

The storyline is REALLY REALLY good. (um, warning for horror elements) There are two different quest lines it opens and one also opens access to joining the Crimson Fleet faction.

7. When you upgrade your pilot skill it unlocks using thrusters in space flight. These let you maneuver without moving forward, so you are way more agile in combat. Use RB with a controller, IDK what the keyboard thingy is. But they're actually great. You hold down the button and then move sideways or up and down. Makes moving to new targets much better.

8. Weapons have different levels. Base which just has the name and then Calibrated, Refined, and Advanced. So pay attention and pick up the higher level ones. If you get a good advanced gun early you can use it and upgrade it for EVER. There's also rarity levels, which is the colored things. But that's about bonus effects. So you might get a really shitty gun with a Legendary bonus effect and it's still trash. If you get a high level weapon with a good bonus effect TREASURE IT.

9. Certain quests give you really good items, including SHIPS. IMO the best ship to get is the one from the Freestar Rangers.

10. Once you get a house you can build in it just like in an outpost. Also you can drop things from your inventory into an outpost or a house and then in build mode move that item around onto shelves, etc.

11. There is Universal time and Planet time. So if you wait or sleep, depending on where you are that may count as more time passing than what you chose. All shops refresh their money and inventory in 48 hours UT, but on Jemison, for example, that's only 24 hours of planet time.

12. Ship building can be intense and intimidating but it's really really worth it. You can always cancel out and undo what you did, so experiment. And when in doubt, add more engines, lol. (But really you want to add cargo space ASAP and then you need more engines, and then you end up wanting whole new ships.) Different ports have different makers of parts, and the best items are in the home port for each brand.

13. Unlocking the Ship Targeting skill is a game changer for space combat. It lets you lock on and then slows down time while you pummel the enemy's ship systems. If you take our their engines, and they are alone you can then dock with them and fight them and take their ship. Space piracy FTW.

14. If you get contraband avoid cities. Go to the Wolf System to The Den to sell it. This is very lucrative. At the slight price of your personal integrity.

15. As a general rule if something is sucking, you need to find the skill for it and invest points in it. This is true for piloting, scanning, boost packs, etc. They really made the skill trees count and be necessary in this game. Also surveying planets is really good XP actually. To help you get those points.

16. Speaking of surveying, if you are trying to complete a planet you need to visit all the biomes. If you click on the planet it will tell you the percent complete of that biome before landing. If you have one lone fauna left that fucker is probably in the ocean so look for COAST.

17. When placing outposts make sure there's not a lot of annoying mountains in it, and also you really want to prioritize sites with He-3 because you need it to really do anything. (Helium, iron, aluminum are the most important to build with.) And you have a limited number of outposts without taking a high level skill to get more.

I know that 47 has access to the hearse in Freelancer and while that is his brand of humor, I don't see him using it much.

I bet Lucas had a bike he drove recklessly after he escaped from the institute (misquoting B99's Hitchcock, he has nothing left to live for and drives like it). But after he got Olivia, he upgraded to a car. But I can't decide if it's funnier if he goes directly to a football mom suv or if he drives something like a muscle car and only when someone makes an offhand comment on its safety, he switches to the suv. (Hi Mr Grey. Olivia is settling in nicely. Is it true you drove her in an Impala? My husband has one as his project car and those safety ratings are terrible, I would never pick up my kids in one. .......Haha, of coirse I wouldn't either, my car's at the garage nd this is just a rental........fuck).

Diana probably has a landrover, reinforced like a small tank.

I bet Olivia drives a cute hybrid or electrical car.

And I like your headcanon, which I absolutely agree with! They probably all have several cars, they are rich, they can drive whatever they want. But there are one or two cars that I associate with them…

I think 47 loves cars, especially old cars. He certainly has a penchant for spending his money on classics. But an everyday car? Next to his many sports cars (e.g. Lamborghini Aventador)? Probably a rich (old) person one like a Porsche Panamera (in red because it's probably his favourite colour, I mean his tie is always red):

I can well imagine Diana in a sleek little sports car. She certainly has to get around a lot and quickly. Power woman style (but still reinforced like a small tank, as you say. She knows her enemies and how to protect herself from them). I think Diana has a lead foot on the highway (that's what we say in Germany when you drive way too fast) So why not an Audi R8 in blue? Her little show-off car

47 loves driving in it. But not so much when Diana is at the wheel (vroom vroom)

Ohhh Olivia, our cute little mouse, must have been driving around in a junk car for many years. But she values environmental protection, so she got herself a small, affordable electric car recently (after the old car died). Everyone thinks the car is ugly, but she loves her green box a lot, her Honda e:

And Lucas. Oh, he probably sees cars purely as a commodity. And yes, he certainly made sure to drive a decent car in Olivia's school days so that no one would be suspicious, but I think he has several cars (despite being against capitalism). One for missions, where you get a lot in, get through every terrain, etc., probably a Dodge Ram 1500:

He probably has a small SUV for everyday use (in the city), because the weapons have to go somewhere, right? A Dacia Duster is probably something for him - relatively cheap, yet robust, not a posh car, just an SUV:

This thing has seen a lot and is 30 years old. All doors except the driver's door can only be opened from the inside, the boot can no longer be locked properly and when you hit the gas pedal, the car only gets louder and not faster. Air conditioning: Roll down the windows manually. But he loves it with all his heart and enjoys driving around Berlin at weekends to get a Döner at his favourite Döner stand 💘

(47 only drives with Lucas in absolute emergencies in this car, which sometimes makes strange noises and the lack of insulation makes it feel like your arse is about to hit the road. 140 km/h (around 85 mph) with this car is like a death sentence, but Lucas has fun)

On the subject of Dracula Daily starting again (link to sign up for the emails) (link to the Re: Dracula audio version happening this year), I've been playing some Vampire Survivors lately and it's quite fun (link to the Steam Store). Sharing bc I just like the game a lot.

You play as a little pixelated sprite moving around these endless maps as hordes of pixelated monsters come at you from all directions. You collect XP from the monsters you kill that allows you to buy weapons and upgrades, but all of your weapons are on automatic timers, so the only thing you can really do is run around going, "Fuck, fuck, FUCK!" and try to point your weapons in vaguely the right direction. By the end of a level, if you survive that long, you become a little whirlwind of death as layers upon layers your overpowered magic whip around you against waves of cartoony monsters so thick that you can barely see the screen.

Note: the game does come with a photosentivity warning at the beginning. But it's very cheap (with no microtransactions) and quite charming, with some cute designs and humor, and makes me nostalgic for all sorts of old arcade games and also reminds me of stuff like Castlevania. And there's no intense or complicated story happening so it's easy to jump in and out of playing.

The only thing I can think of that's missing for me right now is a multiplayer mode so that I can bring my sibling (also an adult) over to play with me, so we can frustratedly yell at each other for going the wrong way on our shared screen like we're 12 again.

And right now, I would LOVE (and would honestly pay money for, devs, pls) a mod or a DLC where I could play as the cast of Dracula, especially if there was a Dracula's castle level where I could fight him and his brides. I want to play as little pixelated Jonathan or Mina Harker running around shooting fireballs and throwing daggers at hordes of monsters. Get a little Van Helsing and a cowboy Quincey with a whip and a Lucy with that flower power in there.

MISS MINA has arrived at DRACULA'S CASTLE to get her FUTURE HUSBAND back. She has a WHIP in one hand and CROSS that can be thrown like a boomerang in the other, and her DEATH COUNT is going to be in the THOUSANDS by the time she's done.

Iknow you talked about them meeting before, but i wanna know more about how solaris or fabby feels about the bobots.. Either or, whichever one you wanna write for :3c

i don't think she would have met any of them other than robutler, but i think fabby would have gelled pretty well with any of the robots she met. i think she would think he was cute (though mainly in the same way someone thinks an animal is cute... i think it took her a bit of time to wrap her mind around the fact that they're actually alive alive). honestly the fact that he's got a little bowtie would be enough to win her over from the start, if the way she dresses up ZC-07 is any indication.

i do think robutler (and all the other robots, for that matter) would find her quite cool. i think- before cold shoulder- they kind of idolized zor as the one to make prism's dreams reality... meaning that anyone close to zor would probably be Only Slightly Less Cool than zor themself. fabby called him "[prism's] darling little valet" once and he always giggled and puffed up all flustered proud when he remembers.

at some point, i like to think fabby floated the concept of prism adding a poison module to her robots, but she quickly rejected the concept. sure, they wouldn't get poisoned, obviously- they're metal- but she wouldn't be able to guarantee her own safety... not to mention, that early in their relationship, it was harder for prism to trust fabby to begin with (ultimately, for good reason...)

solaris... was a bit different. the death engine was the most lethal invention zoraxis ever weaponized against the agency, so of course prism knew a lot about her- and of course robutler picked up a lot of that information from her. still, it was a bit... strange to meet the solaris in person. she was just as scary looking as he thought she would be, but not really scary that aside. imposingly tall, yes, but... exhausted, and quiet, and cold, and not really all too impressive for one of zoraxis' most lethal engineers.

solaris tended to keep out of prism's way, more often than not. no reason to get attached to someone who's just going to die (and depending on if zor decides to give her clearance, she may be the one helping to build her death trap). but even beyond that, she wants little to do with the agency; that includes ex-agency faculty. it puts a sour taste in her mouth.

i like to think post ieytd3- if solaris and prism ever came into contact and made an uneasy alliance with each other- she'd be more willing to give right robot a chance... however, i think prism's haphazard method of upgrading her robots would damn near give her a hernia. as well as the precariously placed and horribly ventilated laser systems. i mean christ, prism- what were you thinking?? putting a laser DIRECTLY in front of HEAT SENSITIVE kinesium?!

i don't think solaris would be opposed to giving right robot the occasional upgrade... but i do think she would be... weirded out that she would probably have to do them while he's 'awake'. there's something very... invasive about rummaging through a robot's guts while its staring at you and asking you questions.

i wasn't going to include this originally but writing that last paragraph made me remember this thing from like. october of last year so i'm including it too

While I wish the show focused on RWBY and get side/secondary characters tf out of the spotlight, I can't help but personally find Jaune more interesting atm. It probably won't happen, but it'd be so interesting to see Jaune return home as he is and face his family. How would his dynamics change with his sisters now that he's the oldest? Is he now older than his own parents? How would they grieve not being able to witness even parts of his life? Would they be proud to know he's "lived up" to the line of warriors, and his parents don't have to wait to see him at his "best?" With the show having tone issues and putting comedy in objectively horrific circumstances, would Jaune jokingly flaunt his new maturity over his sisters? This is idea has so much potential that of course won't get developed or resolved satisfactory, as nothing in this show does. It's not even being done well with the immediately available characters.

Honestly... yeah. While I completely get why many fans dislike Jaune due to his meta problems (and why they might simply dislike him as a character, period) for me the result of giving him so much that should have gone to Ruby means that he's a more well-rounded character and, thus, more interesting to some viewers. Jaune has conflict to engage with. Just off the top of my head:

He's a classic underdog whereas Ruby's prodigy status means she's never really had to improve across the series. Even her one new skill, Silver Eyes, is mastered in a single fight.

Instead, Ruby's problem is that she's younger than her peers which has an impact for... three episodes? Especially since Weiss' issues with Ruby being leader seem to stem entirely from the fact that she wants to be leader, not because she's two years younger.

So Ruby gets a short arc about figuring out how to lead... which is what Jaune goes through too because he's also a leader.

Alongside this, Jaune gets a whole bullying arc that helps develop his character (even if it's pretty simplistic development).

Jaune is the love interest of Pyrrha who spends a ton of time with her whereas Ruby is just the kinda-friend whose relationship exists almost entirely off screen. Seriously, I know we all like to talk about how traumatizing seeing her die was for Ruby (and undoubtedly it was), but her "PYRRHA!" at the Vytal festival is the one friend-y moment I can think of off the top of my head.

Jaune accompanies Ruby on her Cinder quest, ensuring he's there to experience and grapple with everything our protagonist is experiencing and grappling with too.

He gets the armor upgrade and later new gadgets, despite Ruby supposedly being a weapons nerd.

As fans have pointed out in regards to the "Who is responsible for their failed plan?" debate, Jaune gets to come up with a lot of ideas across the series (good and bad) that Ruby then agrees to follow. Ruby was GREAT at coming up with cool combat strategies and plans at the start of the show and now that's all but disappeared.

Jaune has the extreme reaction to learning about Ozpin's secrets. I mean, I hate it, but I can't deny that it's more engaging than Ruby's reassurances that are immediately undermined by Qrow.

Jaune, Ren, and Yang are off LITERALLY FIGHTING SALEM AND NOT SAVING OSCAR'S LIFE while Ruby sits in a mansion drinking tea.

He's the one to kill Penny. Ruby might also have a grief arc this Volume, but that's lessened by the fact that it should have occurred six Volumes go and she only heard about this second-hand. That's a COMPLETELY different scenario from not just seeing the death, but causing it.

Jaune winds up in Ever After and immediately finds the contrived plot device that makes his life - as you've laid out, anon, - that much more interesting.

Ruby has a breakdown about how bad things are and so does Jaune... but to my mind he's got a lot more to complain about with a lot less responsibility too, so it resonates with me more. I mean, I don't really want to compare trauma - Ruby obviously has a LOT to be upset over - but I struggle to hone in on her "I hate having to cheer everyone up!" meltdown when Jaune is there having a "I've been alone for decades and now my village is dead!" meltdown.

And yeah, we can throw in a lot of Ruby specific things too. Sort of. She has Silver Eyes! ... which haven't been very important in the narrative and, you know, Jaune is the descendant of some great huntsmen family with hints that he'll be even more by the series' end. Ruby was targeted for kidnapping! ... once, while Jaune was there helping to defend her, and it's not something she ever reflects on. Ruby is the simple soul destined to save Remnant! ... and Jaune is now the Rusted Knight, a literal fairy tale hero who, as we've been reminded over and over this Volume, everyone in Remnant simply adores.

None of these are new complaints. Jaune gets too much screen time. He gets too much development compared to the girls. He's too perfect despite supposedly being a fuck-up at the start. No one who came to RWBY for the woman-led team focus is happy about this (or about Ozpin-Oscar being at the center of this fight). But the inevitable result of all that - if you can get past your frustration - is that Jaune is simply more interesting in a whole lot of ways. He's developed more across the series and now continues to have more engaging, logical conflicts. Jaune has lived a lifetime in a fairy tale and faces the possibility of returning to Remnant with an insane amount of baggage to overcome, to say nothing of how this would change how everyone interacts with him for the rest of the series. He still has a personal beef against the villains for Pyrrha's death whereas we haven't confirmed that Salem killed Summer, or that Ruby wants to hunt her down for that. Jaune is now falling apart for very legitimate, understandable reasons that none of us really need to nitpick because yeah, who wouldn't have a meltdown about spending decades in this place and then loosing a whole family? Meanwhile, Ruby is... sad about a death that already happened once and also that she "has" to be leader after demanding to be leader. One of these arcs is not like the other!! The fact that Ruby does have interesting things for the story to engage with - the mysterious death of her mother, the potential for her Silver Eyes to be the only thing that could hurt Salem, etc. - doesn't matter because the story isn't writing that. So yeah, hard agree, anon. The story is supposed to be about Ruby, I want it to be about Ruby, but the show continually goes, "Look at this more interesting, more developed, more conflict-laden character over here." Even if RWBY fails to do something good with all that - which inevitably it will - the potential is still more engaging than 99% of what Ruby has had going on since Volume 5.
