the way some people talk about characters (mostly axel) makes me wonder if they’ve ever even played the games, especially season one. “but you can’t get the game anymore!!” yes you Can. piracy is a beautiful beautiful thing.

but reducing characters like axel down to a “fat idiot” when there aren’t even any jokes about his weight until a half hour into gameplay while adoring characters with a fraction of both the screentime and character axel has is realllyyyy telling of why you actually don’t like axel. it’s because hes fat and “ugly” and “too mean” lol

people love to hold on to everything with axel in episode 1 when that is literally the Starting Point for every character’s arc. lukas is a coward and closed off in ep1, he becomes braver and open by the end of the season. petra is a loner and doesnt let herself rely on others, she spends the Entire Series going over that arc and opening up. you dont see people shitting on lukas for how he acts in ep1 but god forbid you ever think axel was Just A But justified to be cautious and wary of lukas, you get LukasFan500 in your inbox ragging on you for “not liking lukas”.

i LIKE lukas. i LIKE axel. im almost glad axel doesnt have the following lukas does because if people babied axel like they baby lukas id rip my hair out and start eating shirts or something. but the way people talk about him always makes me wonder if theyve ever even touched the games themselves, or have just watched playthroughs that always side with lukas or go to redstonia.

That Boy Ain't Right: Lost Boys edition:

-David has control issues. David needs to be either in control of his environment, or in control of himself and the people directly around him, which he's managed so far thanks to the Boys being willing to let him be the default leader of their pack. David is a good leader, mind you, but the stress of being one under the pressures of his environment (ie, Max's abuse and control, the Santa Carla territory being a place he doesn't really like, Max holding Michael and Thorn above his head) does get to him, meaning he wants to exert more control to feel safer, and it leads to things like what happened with bringing Michael to a feast hunt, scaring him off. Bad decisions made in desperation to regain lost control.

-Dwayne has codependency issues. Dwayne needs to feel useful and like he's helping, but moreover, he can't function well outside of a group. He doesnt show it outwardly, but he has a hard time without someone beside him to vet or vindicate his movements and ideas. Dwayne was the first in the pack to gain his mate, Thorn, and thus the pair didn't have any other examples of a healthier pairing. Combining that with the fact Dwayne's very introverted, his animal communication abilities, and Thorn's dog form, you have the ingredients for a really, really codependent relationship, that when torn apart by Max, sends Dwayne into an absolute spiral without that constant person at his shoulder to 'allow' or 'disallow' his actions and thoughts.

-Paul. Oh boysie, Paul. Where to even start. First off, it's funny to joke that he's a party boy with an endless supply of whatever gets you high (and yes, that includes a Lot of harder substances) but his substance use is abuse, with no alternatives to help cope with his sensory and psychological issues. Not like he can get a steady prescription of anti anxiety or antidepressants that will work, given the nature of their vampiric bodies. Paul is a man of very high peaks, and very low valleys, with little in between. The movie is mostly depicting him in a manic streak that can last for months, especially in the busy, active time of year for the Boardwalk, but he will drop, and drop like a brick through deep water once it's over. Paul also cannot stand something being in a grey area, meaning he also tends to see the world in blacks and whites. Something that feels good is something he wants to have always, and the moment it stops feeling good, he will do anything in his power to get it out of his sense range or just straight up destroy it.

-Marko. Ironically, for all that the fandom (and my writing partner and I!) headcanon Marko as being possibly the most outwardly aggressive member of the pack, Marko is actually not the one you may be in the most danger around. Marko came from, aside from Michael, the stablest home life of any of the Boys. His parents loved him a lot, he was an only child, and they didn't have many financial or emotional problems. Marko's issues lie more in things the world outside has done to him. A child of first generation immigrants, gay in the 70s and 80s, and it's a small (ha) thing, but Marko knows that he doesn't cut a very imposing figure. Marko has learned that the best offense is a good defense. He goes for the throat before the other person can even think about baring their fangs, so to speak. This unfortunately has led him to the restrictive view of himself as a weapon and incapable of real gentleness anymore.

(plus, I hc every season of the series happens in a different season of the year, maybe in different years?? idk cause i didnt count for 3rd life but i dont think it would count as spring... ANYWAYS Last Life happens in Summer, for angst purposes)

Double Life: I don't wanna talk too much abt their relationship in DL cus it makes me so mentally ill, reminds me of sum personal lore in my life I wont get into, but I still love em. I hc soulmates have some shared features w their soulmates, different for everyone, like these two have the ends of their hair the color of the others hair. after the "divorce" Pearl tried to cut off that teal part but the ends just gew upwards, like the teal part just appeared in his new ends when moon cut off the old ones, so at the end he just used red dye to dye em red. Also I feel like they lowkey miss eachother even if both are too stubborn to talk to eachother and at least try to fix things. (winter. winter freezes. often killing all that in summer grew green)

Limited Life: Oh hoh ho... the drama is back but the toxicity is gone. frienemies, exes, a bit petty still but can joke about it for a lil, have forgiven eachother but at times still feel resentment. they live very far away, yet when they interact in person, if things are 1o1 and there isnt any of their allies nearby, gosh can the tension be cut with a knife. not only tension in the way or anger, but sometimes just being awkward around eachother, sometimes homosexual tension, sometimes homoerotic tension- (half joke, i wont talk abt nsfw stuff but theyre adults). They stare at eachother from across the room thinking either "i wanna punch you so bad" or "i would so go and kiss you right here right now", or both. However theyre still fairly friendly, its not the same as *Our Last Summer*, since they'll maybe pull petty pranks on eachother, specially the Nosy Neighbors on Mean Gills, with Pearl mostly having Scott's ever so slightly upset reaction, if even to get a groan or frown from him, tho he doesnt hate her anymore, its not like winter, thats in the past. Autumn comes and makes leafs fall... it gets rid of the dead waste of what winter killed, preparing for Spring...

Secret Life: ... for a new beginning. Spring comes along, a new, more lighthearted game at the start. After going through so much stuff together, everything they've overcome, "That's in the past" "It was a one time thing?" "Yeah, yeah" "Well, I'm glad we agree... glad we can move past that". And they start again, blank page, althrough clearly stained by past moments, they can look back at them fondly and joke around about it without hard feelings. Not only that, but they finally make up their minds, both of them get their shit together and can finally label their relationship, make it official... tho whats a game about secrets without some secrets of their own? So at first, with a bit of fear of what their allies would say, but also just in a way to keep privacy and get a laugh out of others confusions, they meet up in secret. Secret meetings at night or when their allies are out, whispering to eachother and giving eachother accomplice looks, finding hiden spots to sit down and talk. They're plenty suspicious in plain sight, but with all the reasons there could be for them to be hiding something? Maybe theyre up to no good! Maybe they're plotting destruction! Maybe its got to do with their tasks! Yeah, it drives the yellows mad in particular, trying to guess their tasks just to be told it couldnt be further from correct or that they already complited theirs. Now some participants are a bit oblivious, but others can put 2 and 2 together pretty quickly... they'd keep their mouths shut tho, cause seeing the others lose their mind trying to uncover their "plans" is quite the funny sight. Maybe some would get a push like a little knudge from Cleo "They're dating, Bdubs" "... OHHHH, SO THATS WHY". The Roomies all know for sure, Impulse suspects, to Gem and the Mounders it never crossed their minds, unsure about others tbh but thats what I know for sure. But yeah! Maybe at first they'd have a "Bad Idea" (from Waitress) moment, tho that song also could fit an ""afair"" in LimL from what ive talked with a friend, but yeah. They're destined to die anyways, since the finale means only one can win, and that winner is neither of them, but they'll meet in the next game. Tilly next time. Or, Tilly death does them part...

... except not, cause not even death can do that, cause they are able to find eachother in every single universe, no matter the circumstances, even if their situation isnt ideal in some, they're always together, in one way or another. pspsppsspps can i know a bit of backstory for ur oc sora? like to expand the description on ur toyhouse? and i hope this isnt weird to say but she always stuck out for me bc i had this oc when i was younger who's name is sora and had similar hair style and color. everytime i see ur sora im like woagh. same hat.

i love toyhouse for allowing me to catch up on my own ocs like a daily paper very cool anyway-

sora was one of my first real human ocs! she was originally a kind of edgy-for-a-young-teen-created-character type chara & ive kinda had to rebuild her in ways over the years & im still not handling her quite right but that said.

sora's back story is heavily dependent on her ability. she's far from a prodigy with it, she's like. most average case of learning she had an ability ever, except for the ability itself. what i have written for her ability i dont think holds up anymore; i think she also has the potential to positively affect people's mental states as well. thing is she has effectively no practice with it & it tends activate when she's scared or angry so it messes with people's heads terribly & thats all she knows of it. she doesnt want to hurt anyone she just happens to be really good at accidentally giving people like. major depression in mere moments. which she hates. so she hides.

she's (accidentally) lead to multiple people in her home town getting themselves into accidents with injuries or killed. didn't take her too long to put together the incidents were related to her ability, & with relatives occasionally joking that she curses people, she felt really guilty & ended up running away. that kind of started a trend of going somewhere, causing problems on accident, getting upset, going somewhere else for a while until she managed to grow her bangs out long enough to cover her eye which seemed to mostly solve her problem. she knows she doesnt have any real control over it & that scares her so she gets really upset if even the wind pushes her hair out of place. there's never any concrete evidence she's behind any of the incidents, but weird abilities are all over this world so even if she's not being held responsible in publications & whatnot, the witnesses & locals aren't completely unaware of the situation. so like i said she went new places where she wouldnt have that reputation.

she made friends with roselii at her current town & roselii's suggested on a few occasions to practice with her ability so she's more comfortable with it, but the thing is she needs another person to do that, and she's not the type to use strangers for an experiment, & there's no way she'd ever risk hurting roselii so she always declines. theres like. ability sparring in this world where strangers fight each other with their abilities, BUT she only leaves town if she's moving to a different one & in the event she crosses paths with someone else she'll lie & say she doesnt have an ability & otherwise try & get out of it.

she's pretty comfortable where she is now, but she still has the mindset where she's prepared to up & leave at the smallest reason.

I really hope the show focused more on learning lessons from every episode rather than just focusing on the action and subplots that in the end, won't mean anything

Even though both marinette and adrien do a lot and i mean a LOT of dumb shit throughout the show i found myself excusing them cause they're still teens (ofc i dont excuse how the writers wrote marinette as being a creepy stalker and trying to play it off as a "joke").

Wouldn't it have been much better if the two main leads learned from their mistakes after each episode ends?

Adrien has been constantly neglected by his abusive father, so watching him lash out emotionally or not knowing how to handle the situation properly, i can see it being a little excused imo cause he barely got any attention or affection. The only one who was there for him is now gone and he's mostly stuck alone with his thoughts. He only sees his friends everyday he goes to school and thats pretty much it (unless gabe lets him out every once in a while).

The show would've been much better if Marinette had been the one to emotionally support him, show him whats right and wrong instead of having her constantly lash out at him for every tiny mistake.

The two could've talked about their problems and slowly built their relationship from there, it would've been a much better show tbh if it took that direction. I know Adrien gets a lot of hate for the things he does but i cant really blame him for it, he doesnt have anyone to guide him, his father is barely there for him and he doesnt open up to natalie at all, the writers could've used his love and admiration for ladybug as a way for him to open up to her and tell her whats going on with him.

Maybe she can even help him learn his powers better, when to use it and whats the important time for it to be used. I know all the fights they went through are different but at least he would know how to restrain his powers instead of sometimes using it without thinking and just bolting in straight towards the villain.

It truly makes me sad, the show had many directions to take but it chose to be generic and bland and most of all what turns me off from watching the other seasons is its predictability. we know that no matter what the two go through, in the end they'll get together and thats it.

I hope the movie is somehow different since thats all i can look for now, i really want the two main heroes to interact more with each other instead of fighting villains and arguing every two seconds; i watched the first ep of s5 out of curiosity and im glad that ladybug didnt really get upset at him, idk how their relationship has been in s5 since i really hold no interest in it anymore.

It's a wasted opportunity sadly, i might have to look for fanfics cause those are the only ones that make me feel connected to them both.

I don’t think the whole “learn a lesson in every episode” idea is a bad one, but the way it’s handled here doesn’t work because the lessons never mean anything. The characters never grow as people, so the lessons feel superfluous as a result.

Like you said, these episodes could have been used to better build up the bond between Marinette and Adrien, and in my opinion, it would have made that scene from “Multiplication” feel more meaningful, because that way, it would make sense that Adrien would thank Marinette for everything she’s done for him.

As for the movie, it’s entirely possible that the show could pull a Ninjago and take influence from what their movie did in the later seasons, or expand upon certain ideas brought up.

oh god picturing it is rough, Scanlan cracks a joke to emptiness every now and then but mostly keeps a close eye on pike as she tries to convince everyone to eat and sleep and basically take care of themselves even if she isn't doing the same for herself cause she's slowly losing it.

keyleth doesnt sleep for a good 5 out of 7 nights, only passing out every now and then from exhaustion, stress hitting her like a wave everytime a knight or guard passes by. percy is Dazed, his brain keeps flashing between images from years ago and he has to keep pinching his arm hard to remind himself this isn't the same and he's not there anymore. Grog is pissed for the majority of the time, still processing everything syldor said and trying to figure out why the twins didn't just tell them.

Every night, they all sleep curled up together with Grog in the middle, Keyleth holding Percy's hand. tho honestly im not sure i have many that are my own?? there are so many people in the fandom that spend more time thinking (in general) and that have come up with some amazing headcanons that i subscribe to so admittedly i havent spent as much time thinking up hc’s myself! well, maybe this isnt true in the case of marlene mcfly but this post isnt about her lol. so mostly this’ll probably end up being a list of things other people have said/pointed out. that said, if i mention a hc thats yours just be like “hey thats from my post!” and i’ll link u because i honestly cant remember who said what anymore

so first of all, his layers. layers on layers on layers to hide the shape of his body is so trans masc of him. this is literally canon so it doesnt even count. (x, x)

but i’ll quickly mention some other things people have pointed out that are supported by canon: everyone calling him “mcfly” instead of his first name, twin pines lorraine not liking jennifer for no real reason except maybe thinking marty shouldnt be dating a girl at all (x)

i have NO idea what hrt was like in the 80s, if it were even available at all, but i like the hc that doc brews up some homemade testosterone for his good pal marty (x) man of all sciences, right? honestly doc was probably already making t for himself (trans doc ftw) and then marty came out to him and he was like i have just the thing.

going off that, doc probably helps him with his shots bc i think marty’s a big baby when it comes to needles.

again, resources in the 1980’s are not something i know about but given the climate and technology i doubt there was an extensive handbook on transmasculinity and safely binding. so marty’s methods of binding were probably not very safe, in terms of what he used and how long he wore it. tho @rovermcfly’s recent post about mjf’s harness looking like a binder (x)could support a hc that doc made marty a binder. as his friend and an elder trans guy you know he’s looking out for him. but when marty’s not binding…layers on layers on layers. side note i would hope marty wasnt wearing a binder when he got to 1955 cuz oh GOD he wouldve been wearing that for way too fucking long and with everything that physically happened to him in the first like 12 hrs of him being there he’d surely have some lasting damage

i like @rovermcfly ‘s hc that marty saw “martin seamus” in his family tree and was like yep thats my name (x) which honestly fits really well with canon like how are you going to name ur first son david tiberius, ur daughter linda [no middlename], but then when you get to your third kid suddenly be like “lets do a really traditional family name”. Unlikely.

marty probably came out to doc first. doc quickly made him feel safe and loved and comfortable so yeah i can imagine doc knew before anyone else. and then jennifer and then lastly (maybe accidentally) his parents

Lorraine probably had a fucking conniption when marty first cut all his hair off. also i hate to say it but i feel like she was the least supportive parent (not that george was raving about it) in the twin pines timeline. all im going to say about lone pine lorraine here is that she came around faster (or at least started to) than her counterpart, my justification being the breakfast scene at the end of the movie compared to the dinner scene earlier re: jennifer

- zeke needs to be in complete darkness to sleep but needs to have a room as bright as possible to be productive. so every morning after he stretches and gets out of bed hes immediately opening his curtains and letting light into the room because "its the only way he'll actually get ready"

- if he was ever to pop the question he'd do it alone at a very mundane time, just like "wow this is the moment" and ask you to marry him. doesnt matter if he has a ring or not, hes ready, and he realizes this, and he finds the beauty in just doing something so simple with you. hes content and happy, and you make him see life in things he hasnt before, and hes ready for the commitment that comes with marriage, and hes in love with you.

sorry for the long post im on mobile at work and have no idea how to put a readmore but. rambling musings on my characters re endwalker because im doing traffic control at work which mostly means standing around on my phone waiting for a car to leave this carpark so i can go hold up a stop sigh. for a minute to let it leave. its boring as hellll

but anyway im like. so off the shits from endwalker rn for multiple reasons. ive been developing niuwyb more and more as a proper wol... i made her partially as a joke bc i played thru msq as roeh (who id already written as a non-wol oc and was really happy with her story) and was having trouble envisioning any wol id create as terribly different lmao. the wol was a sea wolf roegadyn warrior to me... so i made niuwyb as a clone/twin au thing and ended up liking my self indulgent idea so much i kept her. and now im super invested in her as her own character... endwalker has me like. constantly thinking about her life with the other scions like. its so nice for her to have the scions as almost her own little family... roeh brought niuwyb into her family when they met for the first time and found out what was going on and the two are sisters that have a close relationship but i think that the scions are always going to be really close to her heart no matter what.... i just really enjoy thinking about those moments between all the big events that they have to deal with in msq. just sharing a meal together. or hanging out. after everything that happened i want them all to be happy... i almost think its a shame that they all left the rising stones but i want everyone to meet up again regularly u know. not as coworkers or people with similar goals but as friends and family...

and!! i wanna include some of my non-wol ocs in that too... sandrine and sonje were in this really weird place during shb (partially bc i was still developing their story) but i think endwalker is a really good point to cement the trio of sandrine sonje and ysayle as scions... one cause i always thought ysayle shoulda become a scion this whole time fr so im gonna imagine it. i would design her a scion outfit but my design principles are so not final fantasy it would be out of place lol. but theres no way niuwyb and the other scions wouldnt offer her a place with them as soon as they found out she survived lol

two i think sonje is in this sort of similar place as estinien kind of?? certainly not exactly of course but theres some parallels and i think that if they werent both socially inept they could probably talk about it. like sonje helped to liberate ala mhigo from the garleans and worked on rebuilding and returning peace to the place she grew up. but she had been gone for so long and lived so much more life and formed so many other attachments that staying there just... wasnt where she wanted to be anymore?? her place was with sandrine and ysayle now. and i think her joining the scions with both of them is like. they are her home now...

sandrine is actually the most fun to think about in regards to endwalker because shes so spiteful to sharlayan for both the new sharlayan exodus as well as them not doing anything to help when she was pursued by the temple knights on charges of heresy because of her studies in sharlayan... her mother died for that and its a wound that runs deep... she magically hid her archon tattoos for so long out of spite. i think that coming to old sharlayan would be very difficult for her, but with hydaelyn's power waning and sandrine's visions with it, she doesnt have a charted path and decides to rely on the scions for a way forward... shes still like fuck them sharlayans and fuck the forum tho. person that would get along splendidly with matoya. but i do want her to be able to form some semblance of peace with sharlayan as she did with ishgard after the dragonsong war. not forgiveness but a nod of acknowledgement that things are being set right finally. also thatd make 2/3 countries she has beef with. which means next expac its time for gridania to pay reparations to the duskwight lmaoooo

Okay so, may I request Arkham Knight Riddler x hero reader? Reader (reluctantly) works with Batman. And since Brice is super busy with everything else, reader takes care of Riddler and Catwoman. And then it’s the end, it’s time to defeat him, when Ed finally finds out he’s been battling reader all night, not Batman. But reader tries her best to be kind about it and not hurt him like Batman does, maybe talk to him like a person, not a criminal.

Arkham Riddler X hero reader

Batman is...not happy about your connection to riddler. he tries to understand, he really does but he just doesn't get it. he hopes riddler can change, maybe this time, with you it would be possible. but he still thinks riddler needs to pay for his crimes, even with your help he fully intends to arrest him. if you two dont agree, id advise keeping it to yourself or he might not let you help 

 you dont really want to do this. you know how much it will hurt edward, how much it will damage your relationship . you feel like batman is taking advantage of your connection with edward to reel him in. But ultimately bats convinces you; he says it will be easier on riddler to have someone who loves him talk him down than it will for bats himself to do it. unfortunately you have to agree.

 when you show up instead of bats at the first meeting, Riddler is pissed. He nearly doesn't let you in, nearly offs catwoman right then and there. He’ doesnt recognise you in costume, but something about your voice is familiar. SOMEHOW you talk your way into the orphanage and to be frank catwoman isn't happy to see you either, even after you explain the situation. you’re really starting to feel like the bad guy here.

Bats takes care of the trials, since he’s the only one who can drive the batmobile, but he’s depending on you to stay with selina. the puzzles in the orphanage aren't easy, especially the weighted plate one . even with your costume and all the equipment bats gave you, you and selina together are still too light. you come up with the idea to use some of the defeated riddler bots as extra weight. riddler himself is actually pretty impressed by that, it was an ingenious solution and he cant even get mad because he was the one who gave you them to fight in the first place.

its  sad for you to see him become gradually more unhinged as the night wears on. Selina knows you, she knows you care about him , even if she makes cruel jokes about it. she understands the attachment to someone who is...unavailable. when you two have a quiet moment alone, she tries to comfort you, make you see this is going to end badly so you don't get too hurt by the inevitable. 

When the final fight comes he’s pretty broken. you and selina pull him from that mechsuit and toss him across the floor. you obviously don't want to hurt him, but if you didn't get him outta there he’d likely hurt himself. He just sort of sits on the ground, already defeated and expecting  you to deliver the final blow in a “what the hell are you waiting for “ kind of way. you cant talk him down like this, he wont listen to you while you’re wearing that mask.

the only way you have even a SLIM chance of getting through to him is to take it off.  It’ll hurt you to reveal your secret, its going to destroy him. Selina sees you reaching for it and tries to stop you but you tell her you have to, its the only way.

edwards expression when he sees your face is one of horror and betrayal. he cant walk after that fight, so he just scoots back on the floor trying to put distance between the two of you. he keeps muttering “i dont believe it. i dont understand “ and “ this cant be.”  he’ll shout things like “how could you?!”. selina will excuse herself to give you two some time alone. 

riddler will be shouting, probably too upset to listen to your side of the story. don’t be afraid to shout back. if you say the right words, he’ll quieten down. 

i think, when he sees your face, the fight will leave him. he’s so very tired and now? seeing even you take someone elses side? he just cant anymore, somethings got to change but for now he just needs to be sad. he’ll go very quiet and say something like “just...take me home.” what happens next is up to you. 

if you chose to help batman, bats will let you ride in the back of the batmobile with edward. He’ll let you tag along to the gcpd and even let you stay by him in the holding room. he draws the line at letting you into the villains timeout tank, but that’s mostly for your safety. with your identity out there, he cant risk letting you near people like cobblepot or slade. 

If you chose to run with edward, it’s success will depend on Selina’s help. Selina is PRETTY pissed about what ed put her through. but, as a favor to you for helping her, shes willing to give you both a head start from the cops and maybe distract batman. 

i dont know if edward will forgive you. He’s...glad. glad it was you who got to him and not batman, whatever you chose to do after. he apreciates how you chose him over your secret, chose to try and talk him down instead of kicking 50 shades of shit out of him . poor boy already has trust issues, hes glad that even though you could have hurt him and gotten away with it thanks to the mask, you chose not to, he wont forget that in a hurry.

 depending on your chose, apreciates you giving up everything to try and be with him OR apreciates you bringing him in to try and get him help. hes obviously not happy with the way things went but i dont know if the anger is focused on you or just the situation in general. 

things aren't going to go back to normal with you two. he just cant coalesce the thought of you betraying him by siding with batman, to the thought of you giving up everything to be with him. he loves you and he’s sure you love him too but...he just needs some time to process.

i think, ultimatly he’ll decide he doesnt need to forgive you. you didnt do anything wrong and even though he’s still upset he knows your heart was in the right place. He’ll be pissed with batman for manipulating you into doing this but as long as you still love him, depsite everything, he’ll be willing to overlook it

he will ask you to never put that mask on again thought. he has a purple domino mask you can wear if you really want to. ;)
