[ I’ve been playing Mass Effect Andromeda for the first time and honestly, so far I don’t see why people hated it so much? ]

#[ i mean sure the sections where u have to go around with the rover can get tedious pretty fast ] #[ and the map system is horrendous ] #[ but other than that the characters are pretty decent ] #[ the combat is fun af ] #[ and even though at first i missed shepard a lot ] #[ scott ryder has grown on me more than shepard ever did ] #[ shepard's character was awesome but it was also pretty one dimensional ] #[ he was like this cliche experienced soldier with a no nonsense attitude who was just out to get shit done ] #[ ryder on the other hand is young and inexperienced which is what makes playing him so much fun because he's still figuring himself out ] #[ he's way more relatable and also human ] #[ also i'm romancing jaal with him which is awesome lol i love jaal he's a babe ] #[ and must be protected at all costs ] #[ anyway so far i love the game ] #[ hope it wont disappoint me at the end lol ] #[ whoops i went on a ramble lol it's just that mass effect has been my favorite video game series for years ] #out of tea

Evfra was always a bit of a tense guy - in almost every sense of the word. He had every right to be - there was a lot on his plate. Never the less Ryder could tell that it was becoming a bit too much, even for him. He needed to decompress and while there was no way in hell Efrva would even consider taking a day off, Ryder had manded to convince him to take a few hours to rest. Which is how they found themselves in his home, relaxing. and by relaxing it means that evfra is doing some light work on a holo pad while Ryder rummaged through his kitchen. He isn't too worried about people coming by to visit him - as the others are respectful of the fact that Evfra likes to be left alone so someone seeing him so comfortable with the pathfinder isn't something he's worried about. Despite them being home, Ryder still wasn't satisfied with Evfra’s lack of rest. He needed to fully decompress, and now that he wasn't in his usual armor Ryder could actually feel his shoulders and how stiff they were, hence the offer for the message. “No.” “oh, come on babe! Even your knots have knots - you must be a little sore.” “I do not see how the tenseness of my body affects you.” “Because you're my boyfriend and thinking about you in pain makes me sad.” “......” “Evfra?” “Fine but make it quick. I have to get back to the resistance soon.” that's how Evfra found himself sitting on the floor between Ryders legs, fingers gently pressing into his shoulders. “you gotta relax, Blue.” “I am relaxed” “oh my god” He will admit, it hurt a bit at first, the tension was harder to work through than Ryder imagined, evfra was ready to jump up at any moment. but eventually, the more difficult knot eased up, and Evfra actually found it quite pleasant. Son evfra was fully relaxed, shoulder slumping. he hated to admit it but he did feel lighter. His voice dropped from hissing down to a satisfying vibrating hum (no it was not a purr. He doesn't purr shut up Ryder). 

Afterwards, he gets into the habit of asking (demanding) that Ryder message him more. Every time he seems to be in a fraction of a better mood the next day, which may not be as noticeable to outsiders - but Jaal picks it up and “respectfully” teases him and remarks that Ryder has magic hands.

Their first kiss was definitely enlightening. Turns out something in the chapstick Ryder used caused a minor allergic reaction in Jaal. It didn't start right away, they kissed, and then laid back to look at the galaxy. They kissed again before going back out into the common area.

They sat down to eat, Ryder, politely as possible, asking what was in the alien stew he was about to eat. He glanced over at Jaal and started. Jaal's lips were a pale white and bumpy, and apparently, itched. Under normal circumstances, he would have cried laughing. Jaal looked like he just ate a powdered doughnut, and it was about as precious as the Pathfinder could stand. Before he could catch Jaal's eye and motion to the other room, one of the mothers had Jaal by the chin.

“What is this?” She rubbed the pad of her thumb against his lip. Ryder felt like the ground could probably open up and swallow him whole. Everyone was looking now, and one of his siblings held up a reflective glass. Jaal stared at his reflection. And then he looked up at Ryder.

“What is that silky stuff you wear on your lips?”

“Lip balm?” Ryder's ears must have been beet red and he resisted the urge to slouch in his chair.

“What's in it?”

“uhhh... peppermint oil, beeswax...?”

“I think I'm allergic to it.”

Sahuna stood nearby and glanced from Jaal to Ryder and back again. Ryder was having flashbacks to when he came out to his parents.

The moment snapped back as Sahuna gave Ryder a bright, beautiful smile. “So he finally asked you?”

“Finally!” A cousin to the his right shouted.

“Stars, all he does is talk about you. I'm surprised it took him this long.” Someone else said, going back to their food with a shrug. The dining room hummed with the news and Jaal smiled almost shyly at Ryder from across the table. Ryder could definitely tell Jaal was blushing now.

Lexi emerged from her office to an empty apartment. While she’d known Sula and Nomi’s plans with the older three children and that Eirian and Jaal were currently looking after Aella, she wasn’t entirely certain where Thaia had gone. Given the pervading quiet, she was likely out somewhere on the Nexus. Well, that was unfortunate. A chunk of uninterrupted time with your bondmate was something one tried to use wisely. She checked the time and—oh. At this point, it didn’t matter. Lexi had apparently not heard a single person leave, and so she’d wasted the majority of the time she could’ve had with Thaia, anyway. 

She sighed. At least she could enjoy the quiet remaining to her, relatively short as it would be. A cup of tea, the novel Cora had lent her, and she could settle in for half an hour’s leisurely read.

Except when she exited the hallway, Lexi walked straight into Thaia. Startled, she yelped. “Goddess, you need to make noise. I didn’t think anyone else was here.”

Thaia steadied Lexi with her left hand and then pressed a kiss to her forehead. “I just got home ten minutes ago. I thought you were working and didn’t want to interrupt.” She held out a ceramic mug for Lexi to take. “Here, I made you tea.”

The mug was as warm as Thaia’s lips had been, and the rising steam carried with it a sweetness balanced by a light spice. A Lusian tea, if Lexi recalled correctly. She paused. Apparently, it was also a tea that defied physics. She raised an eyebrow at Thaia. “How did you not spill this?”

“Etalis-like reflexes.” Thaia grinned when Lexi further raised her brow. “And I heard you coming, so I compensated for the shift in momentum when you bumped into me.”

“You arranged our collision?”

Thaia’s impossible smile broadened. “Babe, our orbits were destined to collide.”

I will say the great thing about Jaal is how he wasn't even fucking phased when the man he "adores" and "loves", and who "makes his heart sing", actually dies right in front of him and I mean in a way, if SAM had failed in revival, his last words to Ryder were literally "It's been a pleasure" Liam was more stressed out than Jaal (what a bro I love Liam.
