first and foremost, SIMEON AND DIA AFROLATINO KINGS

the two of them and mams always help mc with wash day

barbatos also does bc he helps dia with his hair and will silk press the FUCK out your hair

mams can do locs and helped the angels in the celestial realm who had them with their retwists and detox

mc convinced him to start a business on the side bc they could tell how much he loved doing their hair

beel loves kids and they love him, he's a jungle gym

levi used to (and still does) go mute when he's overwhelmed, luci and mammon taught themselves sign language in case they need to communicate with him

luci was ridiculously overprotective of the brothers when they fell, but the longer they stayed in the devildom, it was less obvious bc his pride didn't allow him to show those emotions outright

asmo can change his genitalia at will depending on his partner's needs/desires

all the brothers are some sort of neurodivergent, and so is (my) mc

this is kinda canon but all of them are queer and luci is the only cis one out of all the brothers

mc helped them become more comfortable with stimming both in the main tl and in nb bc they do it a lot themself

mams, barbatos, and luci are the best to go to when your anxiety gets bad bc they all have it and know how to handle it best/take your mind off of it

idk if this is canon or not but luci advocated for a hybrid-like rad so levi would be able to take some of his classes virtual when his anxiety gets too bad

mc has touched everyone's tails/wings out of pure curiosity once everyone was comfortable enough around them

mams always carries around crow food and birds are almost always following him around bc of it

luci and dia fucked before the fall.

mc started singing wade in the water whenever luci made them do shit and now mams does it too

mc rarely left their room after the lesson 16 incident and everyone but belphie checked up on them

lucifer forbade him from going anywhere near them but he still tried to at least see if they were ok

lucifer is *almost* physically incapable of apologizing bc of his sin

mams rarely uses his powers to their fullest extent, he did it once not too long after they fell and vowed to never do it again out of fear of hurting the people he cared about

satan's powers are equally fueled by wrath and grief

satan was with lucifer from his creation, god didn't wanna make both of them bc he knew satan would be the catalyst for a war

asmo and solomon almost dated but asmo pushed himself away bc he's scared of committment

levi had to physically hold mammon back from *seriously* hurting belphie after the lesson 16 incident

solomon is lilith's son

solomon is actually a decent cook when he doesnt try to experiment...but he always tries to experiment

magic can't even fix whatever he makes when he cooks

simeon can't see for shit but never wears his glasses

beel had and still has a lot of body image issues, his gluttony worsened them and he works out nonstop to cope

belphie listens to white noise on the rare occasion of him not being able to sleep

simeon would've fallen with luci if he found out what was happening and had more time to think, part of the reason why he was so ok with being demoted

dia wanted to be the closest to belphie when they first fell bc of their shared interest in humans and was hurt when belphie was standoffish

luke will be one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful, angels in history

i feel like he was a human and he died when he was really young and became an angel after

mephisto is a kpop stan and ults stayc

he compensates for his low self esteem and jealousy of luci and dia's friendship with the newspaper position

he also has a crush on both of them but wont admit it to himself

raph scolded the brothers so much bc they were his favorites, he didn't want them getting caught by god

felt guilty for letting the brothers fall alone, but not nearly as guilty as simeon

thirteen is a lesbian and i love her and we're married <333333

she hates solomon bc he was one of her assignments and she failed bc he's immortal

familial issues bc of the failure, she's the baby of the family but was still outcast

mc taught mams how to play spades and he's terrible at it

Obey Me Characters with a MC diagnosed with Autism (Pt. 1)

Obey Me x GN!MC

Lucifer

When you open up to him about your Autism, he’ll ask you for any accommodations he and Diavolo would set in place for you to make your internship the best experience

Makes sure your teachers are following said accommodations

Will research human resources on how to understand Autism better, possibly thought Autism Speaks was a good resource until you correct him

Introduces you to other nobles like; “This is MC, my partner.” Without mentioning your disability unless you are comfortable with it being known

Mammon

When you open up to him about your Autism, the poor guy doesn’t know what it is and asks; “Are you okay?! Are you gonna die?!”

When you correct him, explaining what Autism is, he immediately feels guilty for his reaction, and apologizes for his inappropriate reaction

Not many demons have disabilities in the Devildom, since my headcanon is it’s hard for demons and angels to gain disabilities, so Mammon would have to look up ways to help with Autism and ask you what your comfortable with

If you have a chore you don’t like doing due to sensory issues, Mammon will fight tooth and nail with Lucifer to get that chore instead, even if he hates it, he wants you to feel comfortable at HOL

He WILL listen to you ranting about special interests, and he will not judge you if it’s something like My Little Pony (it’s one of my special interests too), he’s willing to actually listen to you!

He will try to not baby you, but the first few days he accidentally babies you, so you had to advocate for yourself

If you have mobility issues and use accommodations like wheelchairs, then he would make sure every building you go to is accessible in the human realm and the Devildom

If no buildings has ramps, he and you will personally ask Diavolo to set in place a disability act like the ADA in America to make future human transfer students and interns with disabilities to have a safe place

Levi

Has watch an anime with a bad portrayal of Autism once but has been doing research if he ever gets into an online argument

So when you mention you have Autism, he would immediately make a small mistake by saying; “I knew researching Autism because of an anime was good!”

He has accidentally supported Autism Speaks, but immediately removes the website from his search history and computer tabs when you tell him how bad the company actually is

Will ask you before cuddling you suddenly if you two beige watch anime’s or play video games together

He will try to not introduce you by your disability

Back to back compliments

There WILL be late night sessions of talking about each other interests but will also let you have time to speak

If your into aviation, he’ll recommend anime with aviation

He will listen to you when you need someone to talk too, he has no one, so he wants you to have someone to talk too.

Satan

He already had a guess you had autism, some of his books from the human realm has Autistic characters portrayed in a good light with each character different so he already has an understanding

If you need a service dog for public spaces, then he can offer some places in the Devildom for training if you end up getting a hellhound

As I said before, the Devildom doesn’t have a lot of demons with disabilities, but some places have training for service dogs in place if the Devildom gets a soul that has a disability, unlike the Celestial Realm just, ‘curing the disability after you die’

Will recommend book series based on book genres you potentially love, he’ll help you with your room sometimes too.

How Obey Me Shot Itself In The Foot: Michael, Part 4

MASSIVE WARNING FOR DISCUSSION OF RELIGION. Specifically of Abrahamic religions (Islam, Christianity, and Judaism) and their shared God. I am doing this in a media analysis context, not to shame any particular religion or anyone’s particular beliefs. If that makes you uncomfortable, feel free to not read this post, stop reading at any point, and/or unfollow/block me. DO NOT try to start religious discourse on this post or in my askbox/DMs, I will clown on and block you.

Also spoiler warnings for a ton of different Obey Me lessons.

Believe it or not, the next part is what addresses why I think Raphael won't kill MC. But why should he? I promise we're almost there. Almost. Definitely will get there eventually.

Michael and the Morning Star

One of Lucifer Obey Me’s most prominent conflicts is that between his duty (be it to God/Father or to Diavolo) and his love for his family. We know that at the end of the day, he will always prioritize the protection of his family above all, even if his actions do sometimes hurt them. For example, he locks away Belphegor in the attic and lies to everyone about his whereabouts because he knows if Diavolo found out about his intent to commit treason, he’d likely be imprisoned and tortured, possibly killed for it. He doesn’t want to do this, but he feels he has no other choice; he knows what Diavolo will do and views this as the best way to protect his family.

Compare this to Michael taking away Simeon’s angelic blessing. At first glance, this seems cruel, another instance of the Celestial Realm upholding tradition at all costs. Simeon stole the ring of light not just out of an affection for MC, but because he knew it would solve the problem of their unstable magic in a way that didn’t hurt them and all the brothers.

But what would have happened to Simeon if it wasn’t Michael who found out about his transgression? We already know how the Celestial Realm/Father feels about angels giving humans some of their power to affect their lives. If not for Michael’s intervention, it easily could have become another Lilith situation. It could have even reignited tensions between the Devildom and the Celestial Realm.

He didn’t want to revoke Simeon’s status as an angel, but perhaps he felt he had no other choice to save his life. Perhaps, he knew what his Father would do, and saw this as the best way to protect his brother.

I think this similarly informed his decision to banish the brothers from the Celestial Realm instead of killing them for siding with Lilith. Because, again, Obey Me is not going to portray God clearly, it’s very hard to get a reading on his personality, but we do know Someone decided Lilith needed to be executed. Wiped from existence, really. But if Michael really does hold so much affection for the brothers even after all these years (see: the portrait hall stuff), I can’t see him being the final voice supporting Lilith’s execution. Also, if Lilith could be executed, I don’t see why the brothers would be spared… unless Someone advocated for them somehow.

(It could also be something funny with Celestial Realm law but shhh I’m trying to learn about characters here)

Comparing Michael to Lucifer also shifts how we might view his relationship with Luke. We know Michael has great expectations for Luke, and that he sent him to RAD to introduce him to new perspectives. We also know this process has been… a lot, for Luke. He almost got murked by Lucifer ffs. But similarly to how Lucifer has a strange way of showing his favouritism for Mammon (which is to say he’s often very harsh with Mammon because he knows what Mammon’s capable of), maybe this is Michael’s way of preparing Luke for the tumultuous future integration of the three realms. Of equipping him with the knowledge and perspective necessary to navigate a world undergoing immense changes.

Obey Me Pet Names

SO!

I saw an Obey Me post earlier today that was "cancelling" certain pet names that are given to MC and it got me really fired up for a number of reasons.

Now, I don't like to start drama and I like to keep my account happy and positive, so I'm not calling them or tagging them or doing anything like that, BUT I will share the pet names I have associated to MC from the different Obey Me characters in my fics and defend them.

Also, so long as it's not offensive, people can imagine them or their OC's being called what ever they want and people shouldn't restrict or shame that.

Lucifer: Beloved

Lucifer portrays an image of elegance and in full honesty reminds me of a Victorian vampire. Because of this, I thought something timeless, that held the poise while also giving you the respect and affection that you deserve would be nice. Therefore, I have Lucifer call MC, Beloved.

Mammon: Treasure

Yes. I have Mammon call MC treasure. "But B, isn't that cliche and little uncreative?" Honestly? Yeah. It is, a little bit. But Mammon values and adores his wealth and his valued possessions tremendously. His "treasure" is everything to him. So for him to call you Treasure, is for him to say that you are the most important thing in his life. That your love drives him just as crazy with greed as all the riches and gems in the world. AND THAT is why I use it and always will.

Leviathan: My Henry

Look, I honestly haven't really come up with a specific pet name from Levi yet, but at the same time, I feel like he'd be too nervous to use any of the typical romantic pet names in public because he'd get too flustered. Calling you his Henry is different though. It comes more naturally to him as he's called you it for as long as he's considered you a friend. Not to mention it's also a nod to the strong bond of trust, loyalty and honesty that the two of you share, just like Henry and the Lord of Shadows. (I headcanon MC teasingly calling Levi "My Lord" in retaliation on occasion to make him blush)

Satan: Darling/Dear/Dearest

Again, Satan is one of the ones that I haven't really come up with a solid nickname for, so as default, he gets stuck with the typical Darling/Dear/Dearest. (I'm just not personally comfortable with him calling MC kitten). At the same time though, these sort of fit him as these are common pet names seen in romance novels and texts. I think it'd make him happy that he could finally call you that himself.

Asmodeus: Lovebug

So I chose this for Asmo because I think having that very obvious and clear distinction that your relationship with him is one beyond lust, one of true and genuine love would make him so happy and touched that he finally got to have a relationship like this. He'd love calling you Love, Lover, or (my favourite) Lovebug, because it reminds him that he has your heart just as much you have his.

Beelzebub: Honey Bun/ Honey

I usually am the first person to advocate that not everything about Beel has to be associated with food, and yet here I am. I LOVE the idea of him calling you his Honey or Honey Bun. There's no denying that Beel loves food, and one thing I've noticed is he seems to have a sweet tooth (when getting snacks, he usually goes for custard, pudding, or Luke's baking). That's really all it is. I just love it and Beel loves food and he loves you so combine the two and it's a recipe for cuteness.

Belphegor: Angel

Yes. I have Belphie use the stereotypical Angel pet name, BUT HEAR ME OUT! You are the person who saved Belphie from the attic. You are the person who helped reform and strengthen his bond with his brothers. You are the person who gave him closure from Lilith's death and released him from years of anger, resentment, and grief. In all senses of the word, you saved Belphegor, and for that he sees you as his Angel.

(I haven't really used any for the Dateables yet, nor have I put much thought into it besides Simeon's canonical use of "Little Lamb", so yeah.)

Can I request a scenario where Barbatos gets told he is a bad influence on Luke by a random angel after hearing they he's giving Luke baking lessons. (Cause you know, despite being a sweet butler boy Barbatos also has a reputation as big bad and scary) But then Luke steps in and actually defends Barbatos as a good mentor!! I love their cute father-son relationship and it's cool how Luke has grown despite being taught to hate demons.

Also sorry if this doesn't make sense I'm dyslexic

Archangel Michael was on an embassy trip to the Devildom. The three angels that were sent had show growth, but the council has yet to determine whether they've grown for better or worse.

What better way to see than to send Michael himself to stay for a while and experience the Devildom! If he thinks that it's no longer a good idea, the council will advocate for the Father to let the three angels fall. To nip another rebellion in the bud.

As important as Michael is, he's sent with four other angels to protect him. Not that he's going to need it.

As the days grow closer, Luke and Barbatos (with the help of Raphael, Thirteen, Mammon, and Levi) collect various ingredients from the three realms.

Luke and Barbatos make cuisine from the Devildom as Raphael and Thirteen collect things from the celestial realm and Mammon and Levi collect things from the human realm.

The gaggle of fresh faces arrive in the hall as Luke and Barbatos carry out the large five tear cake. The angels that surround Michael start whispering.

"I can't believe that the council would poison our youth like this!"

"I know! Letting them prepare our food is bad enough! But the only reason I'd trust this "food" is because Luke made most of it."

"I bet Luke made all of it and the demon is just taking credit for it!"

Luke whips around, letting go of the cake. "That's not true!" Barbatos shifts to his demon form to keep the cake from hitting the ground. "Barbatos is the best chief I've ever seen! His food is so good! Too good for ungrateful angels like you! Barbatos has taught me so much about, not only the Devildom food, but about being kind, and accepting, and forgiving. He's taught me more in a few years than I've learned in the celestial realm in thousands of years!"

Barbatos, who was fighting to hold not just the cake, but his tears as well, smiles. He sets the cake on the table and walks up to Luke, letting his demon form fall. "Thank you, Luke. You didn't have to do that."

Luke looks up at Barbatos. "I did! You're my friend and I won't stand for anyone treating you..." He looks at his feet.. "like I did.."

Barbatos hugs Luke, uncaring about the lack of professionalism. "Don't forget, you've grown. You're not that same angel anymore. Don't lose your progress just because someone else reminds you."

Luke hugs him back. "Thank you Barbatos, for always being there."

Michael clears his throat. Everyone stands straight. "I've seen enough." Michael moves to the front of the group of angels. "This program has done good, not only for the Devil's realm -excuse me, the Devildom, but for the Celestial realm as well." He smiles at Luke. "I am proud of you, Luke. And you Barbatos, I owe thanks to you. For helping our youth be open in heart and mind. When I return, I will "green light" the continuation of your program."

This angel grudge post got me...

Just thinking about Val,an ex-muslim who studied Koran for 5 years as a bachelor, meeting Simeon, half-naked angel with gold on his clothes. Simeon, calling them by their islamic name because that's how they're registered up there, making it more difficult than it has to be. Everyone knowing NOT to left those two alone unless you want a theological debate that will go on for hours until both are seething.

How to fix this: let Luke, Mammon or Solomon distract either of them.

How to make this worse: letting Satan to join in. He WILL play devil's advocate, that bastard.

Nowdateables Helping a Struggling MC

CW for: eating disorders (alluded to but not described - discussed in the disclaimer)

as i said in the last one, i have not personally dealt with an eating disorder or someone who has one, and though the aim of this post is to provide comfort for those who have that experience, if i missed the mark or said something harmful please feel free to message me so i can fix the issue. also, here is the tumblr post i linked before with a variety of hotlines you can call if you are struggling. i urge you to seek help if you are dealing with an eating disorder, especially from professionals who can give you the attention and care you need and deserve.

Diavolo

He’s very busy with the exchange program and other royal duties, and on top of that he isn’t too familiar with humans and their many complexities. At first, he thinks that maybe you just aren’t used to Devildom cuisine or perhaps the drastic environmental changes have messed with your appetite. He mentions this to Lucifer, who ensures that he will look into it.

It isn’t until you get closer to him and he notices how uncomfortable you get at the mention of Barbatos’ cooking that he gets suspicious. This isn’t Solomon we’re talking about, MC, is something amiss?

He’d probably find out by asking one of the brothers to look into it. Once he figures it out, though, he’s all about making accommodations for you. Would you like human realm food in the RAD cafeteria? He’ll get what he can. Could he interest you in an offer to eat your lunch somewhere else, where there’s less people around? His office is free at lunch (or he will make sure it is).

He might need to be told to relax on the suggestions, but he’s not about to pressure you into anything you’re uncomfortable with. Anything you need access to, he’ll be happy to oblige, with little questions asked.

Barbatos

Barbatos is perceptive, but he also doesn’t have a lot of time to observe you and notice your odd behavior. He probably catches wind the way he normally does: the brothers hunched over and whispering (in a way he presumed was conspiratorially) and one of them (Mammon) speaking too loudly.

His specialty is in quiet care, so you’ll notice a few changes in your schedule without knowing who caused them. Suddenly, you’ll find yourself heading towards the open courtyard instead of the cramped cafeteria, or you’ll start passing Barbatos in the halls a lot more.

He invites you to eat with him whenever he can, or to try some new recipe he’s been experimenting with. If you accept his invitation, he never casts his eyes down to “check” how much you’re eating or makes you feel uncomfortable. He just wants to reach out and give you the option to eat in what he hopes is a comfortable environment.

He’s good at providing structure, and gently urging you to help yourself without sounding too pushy or aggressive. Honestly, he’s probably one of the best people to go to for helping set out a game plan. His presence is calming, his check-ups aren’t intrusive or embarrassing, and he is excellent at helping you find the terms that work with you.

Solomon

When Solomon first notices, he doesn’t immediately jump into action. He cares - of course he does - but he more keeps an eye on you to see if any of the brothers notice and start to do something about it. Of course, he realizes pretty quickly that they don’t - he isn’t sure if he should get upset for them to be blinded by their competition over you, or if it’s to be expected of demons.

He didn’t want to overwhelm you at first, but when he notices how troubled you seem even at school, that’s when he decides to step in. Human as he is, he’s not the most well-versed in comfort or really working within the complexities of another person’s mind. (Not in a way that doesn’t low-key reek of manipulation, anyway). He can find that common ground with you, the part of him that understands how it’s possible for you to feel and think how you do,

He’s a jack of all trades, master of none kind of guy in this situation: he can listen to you well, but he holds back on drastic advice that might do more harm than good. He will distract you, but not as thoroughly as Levi could. He can help you understand how you’re feeling, but still is not quite as adept as Satan would be.

Can and will readily advocate for access to human world therapy for you. Will even help you get there, if asking Lucifer is too daunting a task for you. And, if you don’t feel like going back to the HoL immediately afterwards, well...that human world traffic always was a bitch, right?

Simeon

Oh, Simeon can tell when you start falling into your old habits. He can feel the negative energy when humans start to feel surrounded by it. Whether that ability is just from his own emotional intelligence or his angel status is uncertain, but he feels himself drawn to you nonetheless.

He isn’t afraid to approach you about it - after all, this is his specialty, and he would love to help if he can. He’s gentle in his approach, and he somehow knows how to approach you directly without sounding crass or lacking in subtlety.

Simeon isn’t used to having such a direct influence on the people he helps, though. More often than not, you’ll find him gently slipping you little reminders about your schedule (if you have one that you’ve told him about), and he’ll definitely be sure to let you know how proud he is of your effort when you reach your goals.

He’ll sit down with you and help you create realistic game plans. If you ask him to sit down with you while you eat, he’ll gladly make sure his schedule aligns with yours. He’s also the best person to go to if you need a compassionate shoulder to lean on or soft words of encouragement.

Luke

Luke isn’t a child - well, he is, but he isn’t, not in the exact same way. He’s innocent and childish and sometimes immature, and he does have a lot to learn still, but he’s also lived for thousands of years. Not only that, but he’s also and Angel in Training, and angels need to know the many ways humans struggle in order to be able to accurately help them.

So you might think he wouldn’t notice or know or understand, and he doesn’t know everything, but he gets it a lot faster and more thoroughly than you expected. Besides, human children are smart, too. It’s just easy to underestimate them.

If he knows, Simeon knows. Luke isn’t in the habit of spilling secrets (though he isn’t refined in the art of keeping them, either), but something that feels so serious prompts him to get help. Simeon understand his desire to help, though, and makes sure to give him pointers on how he can help.

Luke isn’t the one you can expect the subtle kind of help from - he’s not very good at hiding the way he keeps glancing at you, and sometimes he asks you if you want some of his newest sweets before faltering and second guessing himself. But he does offer you a sort of wholesome, unhindered care that makes you want to stay on track with your recovery, which makes up for the tact he lacks.

Lucifer: In a word, complicated, at least from Lucifer’s point of view. On the one hand, he really doesn’t like how Asra used Julian for his personal gain and essentially lied to Julian about having any feelings that were beyond physical towards him (which has been discussed at length during different late-night conversations with the Vesuvian red-head), but on the other hand, he can understand why Asra would do such a thing and even empathize with him on a certain level, because he reacted in a very similar fashion towards Diavolo when he was a fresh fallen angel-turned-demon living in the Devildom. He’s also worried about how Asra behaves when he’s around Asmo (especially when Solomon’s around and encouraging him), and Lucifer doesn’t want to see Asmo get hurt due to Asra’s shenanigans. There’s a part of Lucifer that wishes to have a proper conversation with Asra about the whole thing and maybe even give him some advise. Meanwhile, Asra sees Lucifer as very powerful and is very respectful towards him during any encounters he has with the eldest brother.

Mammon: Mammon reminds Asra a little too much of Lucio for his tastes, and so he keeps his distance from the Avatar of Greed as much as possible. As for Mammon’s opinion on Asra, the second-born is fascinated by how similar Asra and Solomon are and will watch the two of them interact with each other and the world from a distance (unless and until Lucifer catches him and strings him up onto some fixture in the House).

Levi: Like Julian, Asra finds Levi to be a very interesting person to talk to. Unlike Julian, Asra seems to have a natural knack for gaming (once Levi shows him the ropes, that is). Levi finds this side of Asra to be enjoyable, because while Asra is nowhere near the same level as he is, the Vesuvian magician can hold his own pretty well. Levi finds Asra to be a mix of Solomon and Belphie, mainly because Asra seems as laid back as the youngest demon brother (and the Avatar of Envy is the only one to have this opinion). Levi’s actually the first person in the Devildom to discover that Asra and Julian were once in a relationship, because when everyone was at the Demon Lord’s castle, Levi immediately sensed Asra’s jealousy towards Diavolo when the Demon Prince was being a little too friendly towards Julian. Later that evening, under the guise of a gaming session, Levi got Asra to tell him everything.

Satan: There’s an interesting chemistry between Asra and Satan. Although similar to the dynamic between Julian and Diavolo, it is far less obvious, and the two of them can be in the same room and be completely fine. Perhaps it’s because their relationship is formed on the foundation of fascination, rather than pure lust. Asra’s in awe at the sheer size and variety of Satan’s book collection, and Satan’s very curious about the magical practices that Asra implements in Vesuvia (so much so that, like with Julian, Satan begins writing down things that Asra tells him). Asra and Satan consider each other to be very knowledgeable, which is (most likely) what ends up fueling their attraction towards each other. However, it seems as though merely being in each other’s company is enough for them.

Asmo: Oh, boy. There’s just something about Asmo that brings out Asra’s more dominant (and borderline toxic) traits. Is it that as the Avatar of Lust, Asmo has the power to bring out someone’s deepest desires and turn them towards him? Or is it that Asmo’s (paradoxical) innocence reminds Asra of how Julian behaved when they had their fling? Whatever it is, Asra’s practically glued to Asmo’s side whenever they’re in the same room. This becomes abundantly clear when Solomon joins in the mix (see Part Two of this series). Meanwhile, Asmo is torn. While he certainly enjoys the attention, he’s also concerned with just how forward Asra can be towards him, because the fifth-born feels like if Asra had the opportunity, he would literally pounce on him, no questions asked. For whatever faults he may have, Asmo is a huge advocate for consent and (unless he’s torturing someone, which he does have to do from time to time as part of his responsibility as the Avatar of Lust) will not do anything without permission. So, Asmo is wary of Asra because he senses that the Vesuvian magician has a part of him that’s into non-consensual activities that benefit him and him alone.

Beel: Beel and Asra really don’t interact all that much. Sure, there are occasions where they’re in the kitchen at the same time, or Asra’s hanging out with Belphie in the same room and Beel’s either already there when they arrive or is walking in on them, but other than exchanging pleasantries, they don’t talk to each other a whole lot.

Belphie: While Asra prefers spending time with Satan, he finds Belphie to be a good, intelligent companion that he can relax with when everyone else is too exhausted or asleep. Their favorite spot to hang out at is the planetarium, because they both enjoy having deep conversations under the stars. Levi may have been the first person to know about the relationship Asra had with Julian, but Belphie knows the most about it (because there are certain things Asra kept from Levi during the late night gaming session that he feels comfortable sharing with Belphie). On the flip side, Asra is the one individual besides Lucifer that knows basically everything there is to know about the trauma Belphie has as a result of the Great Celestial War and losing his sister Lilith.

Diavolo: For obvious reasons, Asra’s pleasantly surprised to find out that Diavolo is actually a nice, selfless person who tries his best to look out for everyone and who wishes for things to be as harmonious as possible. As a result, Asra respects Diavolo’s authority as the Demon Prince (and acting ruler of the Devildom) and shows this respect through his behavior whenever he’s around Diavolo. Diavolo doesn’t have a bad opinion of Asra, but they don’t see each other enough for Diavolo to consider him a friend. However, that does not stop him from offering his services in order to help Asra, Julian, and Lucio get back home to Vesuvia.

Barbatos: You heard of the Anti-Lucifer League; now, get ready for the Lucio Haters, of which Asra and Barbatos are the founding members. If ever there was a friendship that was formed solely due to the hatred of someone else, Barbatos and Asra have it. The Lucio Haters have a higher success rate than the Anti-Lucifer League because the demon butler and the Vesuvian magician never get caught (and because Lucio is, to put it kindly, not as smart as Lucifer, and so the Vesuvian Count falls for pranks every single time without fail). In fact, the Lucio Haters are so successful that no one (besides Lucifer, who just sits back and watch things unfold) even knows that the Lucio Haters are even a thing, which makes it that much easier for Asra and Barbatos to cause misfortune for Lucio whenever the opportunity to mess with the Count strikes.

The First Great Consult: Major Perspectives

After the creation of Pandaemonium and the calling of all the fallen angels in John Milton’s Paradise Lost, a Great Consult is called in order to determine what the devils’ next move will be. Below is a short description of each speaker, their perspective, and any other interesting notes about them. Moloch: The first is Moloch, “the strongest and fiercest spirit / That fought in heaven, now fiercer by despair” (44a-45). He is described as desiring to be equal to God, preferring to be destroyed than to be proven wrong in that regard. Since he was proven to be weaker, and forced to feel the humiliation of it, his inhibitions are now gone: “with that care lost / Went all his fear” (48b-49a). Moloch is pure rage, advocating an invasion of Heaven; seeing the initial defeat and subsequent expulsion from Heaven as the worst possible thing, he sees no problem in losing everything in a final assault, thinking that it must result in either the ultimate dethroning of God, or at least a serious disturbance to Heaven’s peace, “which, if not victory, is yet revenge” (105). Belial: Belial, previously heavily associated with sensuality, is very quick to challenge this perspective. We can find two major criticisms; first, as a sensualist, Belial is not pleased at the idea of being utterly destroyed and left insensate, which he calls a “sad cure” for their damned state: “for who would lose / Though full of pain, this intellectual being; / Those thoughts, that wander through eternity / To perish rather, swallow’d up and lost / In the wide womb of uncreated night, / devoid of sense and motion?” (46b-151a). But somewhere deep down, Belial knows that God wouldn’t destroy His creation anyway, though he tries to frame it as if God is unable to: “how he can [destroy us] / Is doubtful; that he never will, is sure” (153b-154). Rather, what scares Belial is the idea that the fallen angels could be punished further, in a place worse than Hell, if they continue their revolt. “If we procure not to ourselves more woe” (225), Belial hopes, God will eventually leave the devils to their own devices, and the devils will adjust to living quietly in Hell. Mammon: Mammon agrees with Belial that the demons should learn to live in Hell; the alternatives, either invading Hell or asking forgiveness, are either “a vain hope” (234b) or a “promise made / of new subjection” (238b-239a). But, as the personification of wealth and greed, and the decadence that comes along with it, Mammon does not want to live quietly in Hell. Rather, he wants to recreate Hell in Heaven’s image, to establish in Hell a kingdom to rival the one that they were expelled from: “cannot we his light / Imitate when we please?” (369b-270a). Mammon wants something that resembles the beauty and glory that the demons have lost, and for a while it seems that the multitudes agree with him. Beelzebub/Satan: The next demon to speak is Beelzebub, “whom, / Satan except, none higher sat” (299b-300a). The plan is actually devised by Satan, “for whence, / But from the author of all ill, could spring / So deep a malice [...] done all to spite / the great Creator?” (380b-382, 384b-385a). This “deep malice” which is being spoken of is meant to be the ultimate revenge against God. Beelzebub finally cedes God’s power, openly admitting that an actual attack on Heaven could not possibly end in victory. But he also reveals the truth that Mammon and Belial are ignoring: that Hell is “our dungeon; not our safe retreat / Beyond his potent arm, to live exempt” (317-318). Hell, put simply, is just another part of God’s kingdom, not a safe haven from it, simply ruled with an iron scepter instead of the golden scepter which rules over Heaven. Beelzebub argues that the best course of action, when faced with an all-powerful foe, is to frustrate His plans as much as you can. Even if you cannot defeat the foe, you can at least make His victory less enjoyable (an echo of Moloch’s more fatalistic goal). To accomplish this, Beelzebub proposes that the devils tempt God’s newest, favorite creation: Man. The demons overwhelmingly pick this option. So, why would Satan allow Beelzebub to propose this, rather than take credit for his own idea? This is revealed in the next part: Beelzebub asks for a volunteer willing to cross the dangerous abyss of Chaos to accomplish this mission, and everyone goes silent. Everyone, except Satan, who seems to spontaneously rise to the occasion, earning himself glory and admiration from the other demons. Rather than impose his desires on the fallen angels directly, Satan creates the illusion of democracy, which makes his rulership more tolerable.

headcanons of the obey me! brothers as angels

Lucifer

Lucifer was the most beautiful and powerful Seraphim in the Celestial Realm, second in command and his Father’s favourite.

Seraphims are described as having six wings: two covering their faces, two covering their feet, and the remaining pair is used for flying.

Everyone marvelled at his graciousness and beauty and when he spoke, they always listened and cherished his sacred word.

His affairs usually pertained solely to the Celestial Realm. An angel of his rank was rarely to be walking among humans. He served as the caretaker of God’s throne.

Yet as beautiful and bright as he was, he was equally prideful. His pride led him to fall out of grace, and this weakness of his became his primordial sin.

The fall caused him to lose the pair of wings that covered his face.

Mammon

Second oldest and in power to his brother, Mammon was a Throne (or Ophanim) dutied, along Cherubims, to guard God’s throne.

Ophanims are living symbols of God’s justice and authority, and have as one of their symbols the throne. They are often represented as fiery wheels. However, they were also described as having four wings and four faces (man, ox, lion, eagle), sparkling like the color of burnished brass.

Mammon was an advocate of justice, harshly punishing anyone who dared to show greed in the kingdom of God. Ironically enough, however, he showed a certain affinity for shiny objects, which he enjoyed collecting.

When he fell from grace, his virtue turned into sin, making him become the very thing he swore to destroy.

Additionally, he lost a pair of wings.

Leviathan

Leviathan was a Dominion. His main job was to regulate the duties of other Angels and ensure that God’s wishes were carried out.

This particular Order of Guardian Angels also decides the success or failure of nations. However, it is only with extreme rarity that these angelic lords make themselves physically known to humans.

The Dominions are believed to look like divinely beautiful humans with a pair of feathered wings, much like the common representation of angels, but they may be distinguished from other groups by wielding orbs of light fastened to the heads of their scepters or on the pommel of their swords.

Leviathan felt oftentimes neglected or ignored by his Father and brothers. He believed he was inferior even to his lower-ranked brothers and often showcased internalized envy of Mammon’s position, of whom he thought was not worthy.

The fall turned his biggest complex into his primordial sin. He also lost his wings.

Asmodeus

Asmodeus was a Virtue, an Angel of Grace who brought God’s blessings to Earth, usually in the form of miracles.

Known as the “brilliant” or “shining'” ones, this kind of angels are associated with acts of heroism and bring courage when needed.

Asmodeus ended wars with the power of love, tapping into humans’ deepest feelings and thoughts.

He adored the way humans worshipped him and marvelled at his miracles and exquisite beauty.

When he fell, his narcisisstic tendencies became prevalent in his personality, and lust became his sin.

Beelzebub

Beelzebub was a Power (or Authority), his general duty being to oversee the distribution of power among mankind. He was a warrior angel, often opposing evil spirits and casting them to detention places.

He also helped humans in their spiritual battles, predominantly the poor and the famished.

These angels are usually represented as soldiers wearing full armor and helmet, and also having defensive and offensive weapons such as shields, spears or chains.

His empathic nature survived the Fall, but he became gluttonous, the opressor of the people he used to help.

Belphegor

Belphegor was a Ruler (Principality), a Guardian Angel of cities, nations and rulers, guarding against the invasion of evil angels.

These angels are shown wearing a crown and carrying a scepter and are usually given more freedom to act than the angels below them.

Belphegor adored humans. Much like his kind, he oftentimes roamed the Earth to guide them in means of art and science, indirectly contributing to some of the most important inventions and discoveries that the humankind has made. His preferred way of communication, however, was through dreams.

Along with his fall from grace, he came to despise humans and so became the Avatar of Sloth, tempting through laziness and seducing people to evil (encouraging them to make ingenious, yet distructive inventions) through the apportionment of wealth.

here are my THOTS on how the brothers would react re: the DEVASTATING knowledge that simeon wrote levi’s favorite book series

lucifer: wouldn’t say anything, fuck you. he absolutely refuses to get involved, but if he had to, he’d lean towards the belief that simeon should tell him under the hopes that simeon would choose to never do so.

lucifer loves his brother but regardless of the outcome, levi will be insufferable.

mammon: UNBEARABLE!!! THIS MAN CANNOT HOLD A SECRET FOR SHIT!!!

HE HOLDS IT OVER LEVI’S HEAD AND OFFERS TO TELL HIM THE AUTHOR OF TSL IF HE’S GOT THE GRIMM HEHEH AND LEVI JUST CALLS BULLSHIT ON HIM!! refuses to believe mammon! stop crying wolf, stupid mammon! at the crux of it all, mammon, in his stupid LOVABLE IDIOT nature would just be like, “alright, you don’t believe me? FINE! ask simeon!” and levi would be like, “what? why?”

and then another brother or mc has to eventually tie mammon upside down or lock him in a closet before he just... completely rocks levi’s world while levi is in the middle of cooking dinner.

satan: would honestly feel for levi! like, satan has probably known since day one and would advocate for simeon to tell levi because satan is a geeky little fuck that would love for one of his favorite authors to notice his existence. (notice me senpai uwu) most of satan’s favorite authors are dead though so... oh well.

but ALSO satan is a rational guy and knows that levi would also be INSUFFERABLE, so he gets that simeon might not want that kind of attention. i see him more on the side of preventing mammon’s big fucking mouth from spilling the secret for simeon.

I don't think that any of them would mind if you were chubby, after all that just means that there is even more of you to love, granted that you are of course still taking care of your health but all of them would show their appreciation in different ways.

Lucifer

He takes a lot of pride in his appearance and of course you are no also included if you are by his side. Whether you are as thin as a rake or the opposite doesn't make much of a difference for him in that aspect. Expect to always be dressed up in the most luxurious items of clothing, perfectly tailored to your form to compliment the parts of you the two of you like the most and conceal what you feel unhappy with. And while he might not comment on your weight much, he still makes sure you are healthy and taken care of in a discreet way and the way his fingers tend to dig into your hips or waist (or ass) when you are standing next to each other tells you more than enough about his opinion anyway.

Mammon

This boy is just so happy that someone so wonderful loves him so unconditionally that the way you look matters little to him. And he is the Avatar of Greed after all, so if there is even more of you that he can call his own he couldn't be happier. Possessive as he is, be prepared to have his hands on you wherever you go and be also prepared to guide those hands to appropriate territory on occasion if they absentmindedly wander to the parts of you he loves the most. Mammon might be a lovable idiot that gets embarrassed by literally anything that comes out of his mouth and his compliments sometimes sound more like insults, but he also know that having confidence when you are different can be difficult and does his best to shower you in some genuine words of affection whenever you seem a little sad.

Leviathan

At first he didn't really understand why you were always so reluctant to sit on his lap during movie night or when you teamed up to crush your opponents in his latest video game until you confessed to him that you were worried about hurting him due to your weight. But even after you had shared your grief with him, he still didn't quite understand. To him that had never really been a problem before, to be honest that little bit more of you made the situation just that more real to him. After all, he the yucky otaku that he thought he was, had managed to get the girl for once and the most gorgeous of them all as well! So nonsense, you were going to sit in his lap for the next few hours now anyway and just to make sure you were going to stay he shifted into his demon form and wrapped his serpent tail around you as well until he could make you understand how happy these little moments make him.

Satan

He too didn't see anything wrong with your size until he witnessed you getting made fun of by some low demons for the first time. While his anger flared up considerably, almost making him shift into his demon form instantly, you merely bowed your head and increased your pace to get away from the situation. You refused to talk about it until you were back in his room, your body hidden beneath the covers on his bed with a book in your hand that you struggled to concentrate on. After his insistent pestering you admitted that this was by far not the first time this had happened and most likely wouldn't be the last time, only increasing his anger. Seeing that there wasn't anything you were willing to do about it he slid into bed next to you, closed your book and began telling you in the greatest detail why he loved exactly those parts these low lifes had made fun of, not promising that he will be as restrained the next time he heard such words uttered about the love of his life.

Asmodeus

This demon will absolutely treat you like the goddess he thinks you are. Even if you are not too fond to look at your reflection, especially when you are just in your underwear or even naked, Asmodeus always knows how to compliment the parts you despise to make you feel even just a little bit better about yourself. And your extra cushioning is quite the plus in the bedroom, the way you fill his hands just a little bit more and his fingers can press harder into your skin without hurting you too much is enough to drive him crazy before he has even managed to rid you of just one article of clothing.

Beelzebub

He feels for you if you are unhappy with your weight. Of course weight gain can have different causes, and he is aware that overeating is not always the main one. But if he wouldn't exercise as much as he spent time eating all day, he would probably be round enough to have to be rolled around by now. And as much as he loves to spend long dates with you in the restaurants around the Devildom and the human world at times, he also tries to coax you into joining him in the gym a few days in the week if you are not already exercising by yourself. After all, as much as he loves your curves and the way you feel in his hands and arms when he carries you from A to B, he also wants to make sure you are healthy so he can spend as much time with you as humanly possible.

Belphegor

Who needs expensive pillows when he has you lying in bed with him? While you might not be too impressed if he ends up drooling on yet another one of your shirts as he naps, watching him sleep so peacefully with his head resting on your chest or stomach is nothing if not wholesome. You are just so soft and comfortable that he can't help himself but to cuddle up to you whenever he is able to, even if it's not the most convenient of times.

Simeon

For him personality comes first. He strongly believes that every creature, human, demon or angel alike, is as beautiful as they are kind, compassionate and genuine. Why would he shame you for your appearance when just your smile can make the rainclouds above his head disappear? He too enjoys cuddling up to your comfortable self and while he rarely has trouble sleeping as it is, his dreams are just so much sweeter when his head is resting on you instead of his pillow.

Barbatos

He's a demon of not too many words and those that he speaks can sometimes come across as a little cold or uncaring. Nothing too surprising considering that he spends most of his time pretending to care for the many anecdotes that tend to leave Diavolos mouth. But taking care of someone is still his job and that attitude is hard to turn off when you have worked that job for so long. So where his compliments and reassurances are rare, he makes up with actions. Making sure that you always have healthy alternatives when you feel like overeating, taking care that you take your medication on time if you had to take any, taking you on walks when his little free time allowed it and kissing those parts you disliked about yourself five times as much before he pulled you as close as possible before you went to bed.

Solomon

He would no doubt offer to mess around with spells and potions if you wanted and needed help to shed those extra pounds that were so persistent and if not he would at least make sure that you didn't gain any more. Having lived for so long and having seen civilization after civilization rise and fall he never stopped to tell you how someone your size would be worshipped as a literal goddess in many of them. If you still had any doubt after that he would move heaven and hell to show you he was speaking the truth. You are not happy with the way you look? But why? To him you look so incredibly wonderful and any inch that wasn't covered in clothing never failed to make him...excited. Of course your comfort was his number one priority and since he was more than able to afford it you never had to worry about clothing not fitting right or being uncomfortable even in the slightest. If there was ever anything you wanted to change about yourself for the better he was your biggest advocate, showering you with support to the point of smothering you with it sometimes. And where you would have looked after the gorgeous demon ladys with jealousy before, he now managed to make them look at you with the same glint in their eyes. After all, you were the one destined to be the soon to be queen of the Devildom and not them.

Life in the Devildom

I’ve spammed playing Obey Me for ~1 week and have just begun chapter 16, so if anything is addressed in the series later, I haven’t gotten to it yet > < I tried to leave these ish outside the realm of the plot so hopefully they’re not too crazy :)

MC getting sick and the brothers freaking out because the last time they dealt with human illness was the bubonic plague

Time difference shenanigans:

The devils and angels say they’ll get something done “soon” or “briefly” and MC constantly having to ask for clarification

MC’s current schedule is fairly light, but they’ll be that rad senior citizen who’s always got something going on during the weekends

Zaramela concerts with Levi in 2058

Cheering on Luke & Barbatos w/ Beel in the Realms’ Centennial Bake-Off

Tea time with the Angels once a month

Convincing Diavolo to let the brothers in to the human world and getting true history/purpose on items in museums

Getting kicked out of various antique shows with Mammon until they’re both permanently banned from every single one

MC getting asked if they remember the name of that one book about ___ from the library of Alexandria

Just constantly being asked if they recall things/events/people from history

“Guys wtf that was millennia ago”

“Wasn’t born yet”

“Ask my great, great, great, great, great grandparents”

Asking the non-humans questions from ancient Earth’s history

“So like, what really happened with the dinosaurs?”

“We don’t talk it. Too soon MC”

“It was 65 million years ago, wtf do you mean ‘Too soon’?!?”

Brothers had to crash course human world info before MC showed up since going to the human world is limited to Barbatos, Diavolo, and Lucifer

Asking about religions and how true they are

MC probably asks Lucifer to curse their door after they learn he can do that so the others stop coming in uninvited

MC honestly is probably struggling so hard in their classes regardless of how much help and studying they get/do. MC’s common knowledge or background info can’t top what’s common knowledge to the devils. It’s a school for those who have lived for freaking ever what more can they learn about???

Upon accepting the reality they’re in the Devildom, MC starts making a list of people/souls they’d like to meet

All the things MC can’t do without help because they can’t fly or the task requires magic so is just constantly calling the brothers for help

Has Mammon on speed dial because he’s upset whenever the called help isn’t him

Honestly at some point MC just snaps at all the others because they keep calling Mammon stupid/fool/idiot (was implied that this has happened even in their angel days) and not only is it cruel, Mammon’s behavior may have started out as a desire for attention that’s now just habit because he’s canonically good when it comes to bets and things that get him money and is very emotionally cued in to MC

He’s also just 2nd most powerful after Lucifer yet still gets walked over by everyone

A lot of his actions just seem like he’s trying to do something to stand out or gain praise even if they’re not good

Many years ago I heard something on NPR or someplace that said class clowns are often highly intelligent and act in such ways because they’re bored, so MAYBE MAMMON’S THE SAME WAY AND NOT ACTUALLY STUPID *glares at the rest of the OM cast*

Look Mammon annoys me but he doesn’t deserve all the shit he gets from everyone else, ESPECIALLY since it’s been going on for millennia and he’s been hearing such things from so long he’s probably internalized it and is acting in such a way that makes it true

So MC stands up to everyone else about Mammon and they are all sHoOk

And thus begins MC’s reign as Mammon’s champion of justice and they have sleepovers where MC re-assures Mammon and helps him see his true worth. Continues even after their yr in the Devildom they have a pact Mammon gets summoned for self-worth night fIgHT ME

Stands up for Luke, too

And Levi as not being a “worthless” otaku (he’s an otaku, he takes pride in that, but he ain’t worthless)

Just extends this to everyone because all-powerful beings can still be insecure and struggle with emotions and self-value, especially when they’ve already been defined as powerful and are held up on a pedestal by others yet make fun of and put each other down a bunch

Humans may be the weakest and shortest living but don’t for a second think they wouldn’t and couldn’t kick demon and celestial ass if they have to

Are social beings by nature protecting friends and processing emotions is kinda our thing

Do the Celestial Realm and Devildom have therapists? Because MC’s the leading advocate for them now after seeing how mentally unhealthy everyone is

TBH Diavolo probably allows MC to get away with so much shit

Want an MC who’s not afraid to curse in front of him

And yeah MC will respect the established hierarchy, but still calls out the others’ BS and isn’t afraid to challenge him

Something that the others clearly are hesitant to do

So this puny, fragile (by demon standards) human having no qualms about voicing their opinion to Diavolo amuses the heck out of him and he probably appreciates it

They have an interesting relationship going forward, complete with their own set of jokes and clapbacks and they probably give Lucifer a heart attack the first couple of times

MC doesn’t realize anything’s amiss and is just interacting with Diavolo as normal, but Diavolo is purposefully messing with Lucifer

Lucifer bristles and is about to tell MC off when Diavolo just laughs or silently waves him off

Probably either questions Diavolo directly or asks Barbatos about it afterwards

MC just not giving a damn about the human-devil-celestial differences

“You want my soul? Fucking work for it”
