First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me. — Martin Niemöller
This November, when I vote, I'm going to spesk out for 10-year-old girls from Ohio, 16-year-old girls from Florida, and minors and other people all over the country being forced to go through things that should never have even been asked of them, let alone demanded. Who will you speak for?

It's Political
It’s Political
Welp, its been a hard week to be an American and a woman. I don’t usually use this platform to post political shit. I’ve heard it floated around author circles that doing so could alienate fans. I get it. However, sometimes something so egregious happens that speaking out is necessary. This is going to be a long post and its going to piss some of you off. To that, I say good. You should be pissed…

Today in Christian History
Tumblr media
Today is Monday, March 6th, the 65th day of 2023. There are 300 days left in the year.
Today’s Highlight in History:
1830: The New York Evangelist is founded with the assistance of Charles G. Finney for the express purpose of representing revival interests and will soon command a large circulation.
1883: Death in Oslo of Norwegian editor and hymnwriter, Elevine Heede. Altogether she had written or translated more than two hundred hymns.
1901: Amy Carmichael, serving as a missionary in India, shelters her first temple runaway, a young girl dedicated to the Hindu gods and forced into prostitution to earn money for the priests.
1916: Russians slaughter the Turkish 3rd Army, giving no quarter to the men held responsible for the recent massacre of Armenian Christians.
1919: Death in Peoria, Illinois, of hymnwriter Julia Harriette Johnston who had directed a Presbyterian Sunday school for forty years and written a book of missionary lives. Her best-known hymn was the popular “Grace Greater than Our Sin.”
1933: Death in Massachusetts of Christian educator and hymnwriter Amos R. Wells, editor of Peloubet’s Notes for the International Sunday School Lessons and editorial secretary for the United Society of Christian Endeavor.
1984: Death of Lutheran pastor Martin Niemoller, a founder of Germany’s Confessing Church and an opponent of the Nazis, who imprisoned him for many years.
2015: Opening day of The Oromo Theologians’ Forum is held in Oslo, Norway, and seeks ways for displaced Ethiopians to effectively share the gospel in Europe.

This is the future you are building
Once a fargeted minority is eliminated, authoritarians aren't gonna stop. They are just gon a keep blaming all thw problems on another minority, and another and another, and another, ...
While your rights and hard fought freedoms will silently be stripped away
And when you funally wake the fuck up!
There will be no one
To speak out in your name

🗣️ Pay very close attention!
Tumblr media
Please forget, for a moment, that many people live in the intersection of simultaneously being Black + LGBTQ + refugee + Asian. Instead, I am asking you to look at how the Republican culture wars are pitting one identity against the other.
DeSantis has banned any mention of Gay and Trans people, Black Lives Matter, George Floyd, Critical Race Theory, and much more… but now he is mandating Asian American history.
Florida and other Republican controlled legislators around the country are whitewashing and erasing Black history from school history textbooks, while also making Asian history a requirement. ⁉️
Please be just a little bit curious.
You must ask yourself, why?
WHY would an abjectly racist politician ban one culture’s history, but require another’s?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
DeSantis is playing Asian people, the “model minority,” against—in his eyes—all of the “less desirable” minorities: Black people, Lgbtq+ people, etc. etc. etc. It’s a classic divide and conquer strategy.
Please see his ploy for what it is. We are all stronger together. Republicans know this. It’s why they’re working so hard to drive wedges between us.
Don’t fall for the okie doke.

"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute."
Proverbs 31:8
FOUR-STAGE PROCESS OF PERSECUTION
Jesus’ basic communication theory in Matthew 12 is that people speak and act from the overflow of what is in their heart. Jeremiah and others remind us that the heart can be exceedingly wicked. One of Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn’s famous statements is “The line of good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being.”

Christian persecution within a country or state rarely happens suddenly or in isolation. It is most often a process. Some years ago Rev. Dr. Johan Candelin, who headed the World Evangelical Alliance’s (WEA) Religious Liberties Commission recognised this and devised a three-stage process of what happens leading up to persecution becoming entrenched in any society. He labelled the three stages of downward spiral as disinformation, discrimination and persecution. Dr. Candelin later expanded it to a six-stage process with each of the three having a passive, then active, aspect.

Dr. Jim Cunningham and I included this process in the first edition of Standing Strong Through The Storm (SSTS) and in our seminars.

Some academicians and wordsmiths found it problematic to label the third stage with the same word as that of the process. So we began to wrestle with this issue from a sociological, historical and biblical perspective. We found interesting academic parallels. For example, in 1996, Professor Gregory Stanton, President of Genocide Watch, proposed an excellent model of an eight stage process of genocide. There are interesting similarities between this downward spiral and what psychologist John Gottman has labelled as the four most likely predictors of divorce.

When we accepted Jesus’ four verb definition of persecution in Luke 6:22, we then found four clear biblical steps in understanding the downward spiral in the process of persecution: opposition, disinformation, injustice and mistreatment. We will look at these four steps forming the acronym ODIM individually over the next four days.

Why is this important to you and me? Just today I read again the poignant words of German theologian Martin Niemoller written after he had been imprisoned for eight years in concentration camps as the personal prisoner of Adolf Hitler:

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew.

And then they came for me — and there was no one left to speak for me.
Response
Today I will speak out for the rights of those who have no voice to speak for themselves.
Prayer
Help me, Lord, to be aware of the forces of evil that conspire against Your Kingdom.

Santorine: 'It Couldn't Possibly Happen Here?'
Tumblr media
Leaders all over the world are looking at the kangaroo court in New York that attacked President Donald J. Trump, and are saying, “I hope that does not happen here.” It’s a sad state of affairs when our beloved United States starts to look like a dictatorship - like Cuba, Russia or Venezuela. Vladimir Putin was recently asked about his opponent, Alexei Navalny. His response was remarkable - he deflected, and started in on Biden, stating he is using the courts against Trump, and demanded the German journalist who posed the question justify Biden’s actions. Biden enabling the New York court to take such outlandish actions is exactly what Putin did with Navalny. It’s not similar, it’s an exact copy. Putin’s allegations are right, you know. Just because he’s a socialist dictator does not mean he’s always wrong. Sometimes, he hits the nail precisely on the head. Did Putin let the courts in Russia run wild, and his proponents jail Navalny? You bet he did. Do inmates in the Russian prisons die? More often than not. Conversely, most of the world knows that Biden encouraged a huge miscarriage of justice in New York. The rest of the world will mock us for this for years to come. How far we have fallen to allow our legal system to hit bottom. The following was written by a preacher who dared to speak out against Hitler: First they came for the Communists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Communist Then they came for the Socialists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Socialist Then they came for the trade unionists And I did not speak out Because I was not a trade unionist Then they came for the Jews And I did not speak out Because I was not a Jew Then they came for me And there was no one left To speak out for me. -Martin Niemoller The world over, they see this for what it is - political retribution. Thankfully, this man has the resources, and the resolve to fight - not only for himself, but for you. This entire nation owes President Donald J. Trump a thank you for standing up and fighting the good fight, for if it were not for him, they would be coming for you. The People's Republic of New York has already seen One Trillion Dollars of capital flee because of their high taxes and fees will now bear a huge burden for this foolishness. Business people will not put their capital to work in New York for fear that they could be next. New York no longer has a lock on the financial markets, and even the theater is looking at options because of the ridiculous taxes and rules. This punctuates the divide that is happening in America. “Blue” states are taking a decidedly socialist path, while “Red” states are continuing to pursue freedom and individual liberty. If you think for even a minute that “It couldn’t happen here,” I need to remind you of the shining gem of Central America, rich in natural resources, that went from prosperity to a backward Socialist dictatorship in a little more than a generation. If we all don’t stand up for freedom, it most certainly could happen here. Read the full article

Savagery
Conscientious senators are negotiating a bipartisan update to our immigration structure. It is threatened by a hateful, greedy minority screeching their cynical xenophobic political irresponsibility. Their hateful message toward people with brown skin tones is based on “ethnationalist savagery”.
Defining a group based on skin tone and then creating the crime is something that America has practiced since its founding. Must we do it yet again?
I fear, once the hateful gate is re-opened, is there a limit? Who becomes the next target? Others not liked by the powerful? Does  “Give me your tired, your poor” get buried again below our bankrupt, arbitrary caste system? Is it now replaced by devotion to xenophobic political hunger games?
Hate is self-destructive, corrosive and contagious. It consumes its hosts and leaves them empty. It diminishes us as Americans and hurts our ability to grow and change.
Who’s next in the hate rotation? Remember the words of Martin Niemoller, regarding WWII Germany:
“First they came for the socialists and I did not speak out because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for…
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.”
Let’s fight this, for all.
