It´s a wizard and fairy kinda thing
So... I decided to drop another post here... I am so sorry it´s so long...
This time about the connection between Wizard 1 and Pixy.
(I will refer to Wiz 1 as Lucan for the rest of the post)
Mostly because for how little we get, the implications do have a pretty big impact on Pixy as a character (his motives to join AWWNB specificaly).
At least that is what I believe.
So once again I am need to reference the perfect guide:

Now let´s get started.
Connection between Pixy and Lucan
Thanks to the Perfect guide we can get a really important clue about Pixy and Lucan right from the start.
And that is that they are a long time acquaintances.
This on it´s own gives us a verry important info about Pixy´s idiology.
Pixy most likely had anarchist views before the start of the game.
We just never heard about them before Directus because well...
Up until that point Pixy didn´t really have a problem fighting in Belkan war.
It´s only after he is kinda forced to be part of the counter attack (aka he is on the offensive side) he starts to talk about some of his views.
Mission 7 and 8:
"Nuclear inspection”, huh? What a joke…";
"Hey Cipher, you hear me? Just look at the view. There’s not much difference between those countries from up here."
This does kinda beg the question about how they know each other:
Are they long time acquaintances because Pixy always had anarchistic views?
Or are they long time acquaintances because Lucan was the one who introduced Pixy to these views?
Unfortunately we can only guess because this is all we get from their past.
That being said it´s obviose that Pixy does trust Lucan, now I personaly can´t say how mutual this is with Lucan acting like a cult leader and all that.
But concidering that Lucan is the only person who calls him by his 1st name in the middle of combat (a furrball no less).
And this is the only time something like this happeneds in the game.
I honestly wouldn´t be suprised if it was mutual (not to mention with the whole Larry thing it almost feels like Pixy is getting some special treatment from Lucan).
However another factor in this is that Pixy is a Belkan war orphan who grew up in a foreign orphanage. Who after leaving became a merc pilot.
Meaning that Pixy most likely doesn't have a secondary education, and might not even have primary one depending on how much access to education the orphanage he lived in provided.
To tie it back, it makes sence that Pixy would probably trusts Lucan with some of his more philosophical ideas, since Lucan is described as "A deep thinker and has philosophical thoughts.
Often pulls quotes relating to philosophy from books and poems." And that is not mentioning that there is 10 years between them.
This leads to another conclusion. Lucan is clearly the one who has more intellectual influence in this dynamic.
We can actually see this influence if we look at how Pixy talks before Stage of Apocalipse and later in Avalon.
Before he is more straight forward with Cipher and PJ.
While in Avalon he starts to use more metaphor and more symbolic language (like Lucan).
Notebly Lucan and Pixy are the only members that talk about how they will cause a lot of destruction to create the new world.
Lucan with his whole "new creation of destruction" and Pixy with his "reset to Zero".
Gault 1 mostly talks about his problem how politicians are the one in control and how they never had to go through what they did,
Sorcerer 1 is mostly concerned about how borders will create new conflicts in future and how getting rid of them will libare them..
Another interesting connection is that both Pixy and Lucan are the only enemy aces that will use obvious technological advantages against the player in Zero (when I say this I mean something only Belkan magic can explain).
Lucan with his Black Widow YF-23 (which somehow has the power to be invisible?) and Pixy with Morgan (I don´t even want to get into to levels of Belkan witchcraft needed for that ECM system).
Now am I saying that Pixy was brainwashed into joining AWWNB?
I am honestly not sure, but I would have to say no.
Mostly because I think that Pixy is not a case of brainwashing but a case of slow radicalization and how his few connections and world around him as well as his past shaped him into thinking that lauching V2 was a good and moral idea (from his point of view).
But that is only how I see it.
With all of this out of the way I will focuse on their 2 conversations and what they mean.
In game interractions
1) Mayhem
Wizard 1: Wizard 1 here, the enemy has broken formation, take them out. Larry, can you read me?
Pixy: Looks like you’ve still got the touch.
Wizard 1: It’s happening just as you thought, it’s about time we got out of this dead-end job.
Pixy: Not just yet.
So this one tells us that they know each other but there is something more important.
Lucan already gave Pixy an invatation before this mission to join AWWNB and Pixy is considering it. And not turning it down.
Meaning that he was probably thinking about joining AWWNB before Hoffnung.
That being said just look how casualy this is said in the middle of a giant furball. Implying that they might be more in contact that we think and this is not the 1st time Lucan is suggesting this to Pixy.
Also notice that it almost feels like Lucan is trying to push Pixy to accept his offer.
Another interesting fact is that after this conversation Pixy´s and PJ´s talks about fighting for peace takes place.
If you do keep in mind that Pixy is thinking about joining AWWNB the convo creats another dimension to it.
Mostly that PJ is kinda accidentally acting like an intrusive thought to Pixy, basically telling him all the reason why Pixy should join AWWNB while Pixy is trying to grownd himself with every exuse he has.
2) Stage of Apocalypse
Wizard 1: Larry, can you read me? Your fairy godmother’s here, Cinderella.
Pixy: How could you after what just happened?
Wizard 1: [laughs] Today is your lucky day, Larry, just like your birthday.
Pixy: And you’re here to pull me off in a magical carriage, huh? to hell, I suppose…
So this dialogue is important because when exactly it takes place.
It mostly happeneds right after the 7 nukes are set of, but more importantly it´s also probably happened in the moment that Pixy is most likely in the worst possible psychological state he can be (with Hoffnung before and all that).
And right at that moment Lucan just appears out of nowhere and (at least how I read this) starts to reassure Pixy that everything will be alright now that his fairy godmother is there to make things right and pull him of on that carried to that beautiful ball in that fairytale castel that is Avalon.
Just like Fairy Godmother did with Cinderella. In her darkest hour she just appeared and helps her and reassures her that everything will be right now that she is here.
This is where I once again do need to get into more of a interpretation territory, from what I can come up there could be 3 explanation why Lucan appears at this moment:
1) Pixy already contacted Lucan that he would be joining
Meaning Lucan was there to ensure that Pixy would be able to not only join but also to leave to AWWNB,it's just that 7 nukes worked in his favor.
2) Pixy still hasn´t decided yet and so Lucan wanted to give him one last chance to choose and it was an acident that he just so happened to arrive at the perfect moment when Pixy would be most likely to join him.
3) Lucan already somehow (most likely his connection to Gault 1) knew what will happened and just wanted to make sure that Pixy would be in a state where he will not refuse his offer to join AWWNB.
Unfortunately this really is up to how you see it.
It could be one of them, or a combination of all of the, or it could have been something completely different.
I personally fall into a mix of 1 and 2. But this is most likely because of my own personal reading here.
That being said every outcome ends the same. Pixy does accept "help" from Lucan and joins him and his organisation.
Bonus mission 16: In Wizard squadron fight (knight route), Lucan does mention with his line Pixy, implying that they did talk to each other.
"It's just as he said. He flies with aggression."
Interesting thing is that only Lucan said this implying that Pixy might have out of the 4 squadron leaders only talk to him about Cipher.
With this I believe I already said everything I could from the text it self.
However I would still like to talk about some other interesting parallels between Pixie and Lucan that I found.
Parallels of this relationship
Morgan and Merlin
It´s interesting that Pixy and Lucan seem to mirror the student/mentor aspect of this relationship.
Not only is Pixy parallel to Morgan, but Lucan does share some similarities of Merlin too, with his Nick Name “the Blue Magician”.
Combine "Often pulls quotes relating to philosophy from books and poems."
As well as the fact that you know he literally has Belkan witchcraft on his side (I still have no idea how you can even explain the invisible jets).
Cinderella and Fairy godmother
I already mentioned this connection in my dialogue 2. I just wanted to mentio it here.
That being said this again goes back into the idea that Lucan is the one who holds more authority in this dynamic.
Like a guardian over their and ward (at least at that moment).
ACE Combat 3 spoiler START
Rena and Dision
So for those who haven´t playid it. I will be droping some important spoilers here so... yeah....
It´s interesting that they do seem to hold similar position in their organization respectfully.
Both Dision and Lucan are leaders (well in Lucan´s case we can only believe that he is, but even then HE is the one who actually has connection to all the interview pilots so make of that what you will).
That want destruction of the world Dision for his revenge and Lucan...honestly I do personally believe that he really is just that zealot and believes that is will create a new better world.
And Rena with Pixy being the pilots of Super Planes (Rena being the one in charge of Night Raven while Pixy is the last plan of AWWNB with Morgan).
The more interesting parallel is also that both Rena and Pixy are recruited and how.
Rena was groomed (and later even brainwashed) to join Ouroboros and be the pilot of Night Raven.
Simular thing could be said for Pixy that he was slowly radicalise by war and probably Lucan to join AWWNB and was later choosen to be the Pilot of Morgan.
And this is all I could find since I unfortunately have´t played AC3 fully (this is all that I could find from essays and wiki)

Ok so another thing my sleep deprived brain forgot to say is that there is also another parallels in how they are after Avalon and their interviews.
After Avalon
They are both the only members that still try to somehow continue in the ideology of AWWNB.
Gault 1 is death, Espada 2 only was there because of Espada 1 and Sorcerer 1 gave up and lives a normal life (as normal as being watch by Osea can allow).
On the other hand Lucan continues in his ideas same as before.
Even trying to recreate AWWNB and even trying to assassinate the President of Osea.
But was later lock up and turned kinda insane. Kinda going deeper into the dark both metaphorically and literally.
While Pixy thanks to seeing ground Zero and help from people (and probably the fact that he no longer is in contact with Lucan) is able to reflect and learn from all of this.
He realizes that V2 wasn't the solution and that to fully understand the situation he needs to learn more about why borders exist and why people creat them.
He in a sence returns to light (like there is a literal shot where beams of light are shining on him his last speech)
So yeah I somehow forgot the one thing that make me create this post..... sorry about that....

Just been thinking about the scene in "Gorizilla" where Adrien jumps off the skyscraper and Gabriel is forced to show some emotions while writing another post and I... I just-
Gabriel you selfish dick, what the hell??
I was just as glad as everyone else to see Gabriel expressing genuine concern and fear for Adrien, it hit especially hard BECAUSE he was being Hawkmoth at that moment. But this
THIS???
I just noticed how much of a bastard thing this was of him to say.
Think about it. This situation came to be because Gabriel completely disregarded Adrien when he just wanted to ask his father the short but very important question (which Adrien made known) of getting to see his mothers film in the movie theaters and send him away to his room when he noticed Adriens ring again which led to him suspecting Adrien to be Chat Noir. Gabriel wanted to confront Adrien about it but because Gabriel literally treated him like shit Adrien run away to see it anyway to which Gabriel reacts by sending the Gorilla after him (go after him yourself jerk,YOU fucked this up). The Gorilla can't catch Adrien though so Gabriel chews him out and immediately akumatizes him so Adrien has to reveal himself to free himself so he can help Ladybug deakumatize him.
Well, things escalate eventually leading to Adrien jumping off a skyscraper at the same time Ladybug gets caught by Gorizilla leaving her unable to save him from certain DEATH and here we are now
Adrien is falling to his death and Gabriel as Hawkmoth is literally BEGGING him to transform if he really indeed is Chat Noir.
....
....
Do you also see whats so genuinely fucked up about this scenario here? Let me repeat it:
Gabriel, the man who is not only the cause of all of this but also the one and only person involved who's is in complete control here, is begging ADRIEN, of whom he doesn't even know for sure if he really is Chat Noir, to transform to de-escalate his own fall to his death.
Gabriel Garbage Agreste, how DARE you start begging as if you were any kind of victim in this?!
Let me break it down just how much is wrong with all of this:
Even though Gabriel is fully aware that HE is the person in control here and is NOT sure if Adrien, who is literally about to die in mere moments, even has a definite way of saving himself, he's still putting the active "decision making" on ADRIEN. Who, let me remind you, can NOT hear Hawkmoth/Gabriel begging him to transform! Gabriel is making ADRIEN the one responsible for the outcome of this situation right now even though there is still the very real possibility that Adrien has no possible way of knowing that Hawkmoth is counting on him to transform BECAUSE HE MIGHT NOT BE A MIRACULOUS HOLDER IN THE FIRST PLACE!
It doesn't matter at all that Gabriel was correct with his suspicion because he's just immediately throwing all the responsibility he holds for this entire situation right off of himself, playing poor bystander father, when HE is the one who holds all the power and therefore should be the one immediately taking action in HIS chaos for which HIS SON is about to lose his life!
In addition to that point, let's talk about the ridiculous amount of time Gabriel let Adrien fall while just standing there waiting and begging.
Because Gabriel is not only asking Adrien to transform once, he's asking TWICE.
There are 31(!!!) seconds beween Hawkmoths reaction to Adrien jumping and Ladybugs yoyo-string reaching Adrien and even though one certainly can make an argument here that the show time does not translate into the “real” time as well, but even if, there is no way in hell these 31 insane seconds would ever realistically come down to a number that isnt unforgivable long concidering the circumstances. And even then he's only letting Ladybug go to catch him because he hears Ladybug call to an absend Chat Noir for help, finally getting it through his thick skull just how close he is to having his own sons blood on his hands.
Gabriel was willing to let his own, possibly innocent, son fall to his DEATH for this long for the off-chance of him revealing himself to be Chat Noir because Gabriel is unwilling or simply incapable of taking on the obvious responsibility he holds until things reach such unspeakable limits that he has to face reality for a moment so not everything goes up in flames.
But I'm not done yet. Oh no, definitely NOT.
Because even after waiting for so long he’s forced to let Ladybug go, this is still not the moment that convinced Gabriel of Adriens innocence. Its only after Wayham doubles as Adrien while Adrien transforms into Chat to join the fight that the sight of Adrien and Chat Noir at the same place eventually convinces him.
Look at his face here and dare to tell me he wasnt still 100% convinced that Adrien could very likely be Chat Noir. Also dafuq kind of reaction is “Well, thats for the better” with THAT expression? That is NOT anywhere close to the relieved expression he SHOULD have had here! How much horrible stuff has already happened to Chat Noir at this point of the show? And THIS is how you react to the for-any-somewhat-resonable-parent GODSEND (but false) news that it wasnt your own flesh and blood you did this to? Yeah, you truly care Hawkbitch. Can someone please just call child protection services already?!
So even after this IMMENSE risk Adrien was not yet save from his supervillain father and neither was he Gabriels actual priority after “finding out” that Adrien is NOT Chat and he just put his CIVILIAN son through all of THIS. Which is exactly what happened in "heros day" part 1 and 2, where in part 1 he once again tells Gorizilla to protect Adrien, he is his "number 1 priority" but in part 2, after Adrien escaped from his akumatized bodyguard, Gorizilla is one of the giants Hawkmoth calls to himself but Gabriel has nothing to say to that. It was literally like he totally forgot about Adrien all together which is only made clearer by Hawkmoth later on straight up calling himself "a man with nothing to lose".
Fuck you Gabriel, Adrien was literally never an actual priority for you and you proof it over and over again.
And apparently even a situation that proofs someones innocence in every possible factor will not be proof enough for Gabriel to accept that he was wrong if it was HIM who had to back down and take the needed action to de-escalate the situation and not someone else. Any situation that forces "weakness" of him and doesnt end with an undoubtable proof that 100% satisfies/clears his previous intention holds no worth in credibility for him, no matter how irrational or contra-productive it is to still cling onto it. Because Gabriel/Hawkmoth refuses to be the one having to back down and to be out-stubborned by anyone else. If he isnt the one tricking the others his paranoia and ego stop him from thinking clearly. Especially concering Gabriels and Adriens always worsening relationship, this is a bloody dark red allert for the future.
But besides that, lets talk about just how much of an selfish, self-centered and irresponsible thing is it of him to ask ADRIEN to pull the sacrifice in this moment?
Adrien didn't refuse to transform for no reason. If he were to do it not only everybody in Paris would see it but HAWKMOTH as well and Adrien has no way of knowing that Hawkmoth at this point is not as much his enemy as he rightfully thinks and actually just wants him safe and sound right now. Adrien is perfectly aware that the moment Hawkmoth finds out about his identity he WILL take advantage of it, endangering his loved ones, friends etc (naturally including Gabriel himself as Adriens father as a big priority) and going after him mercilessly until he gets his ring. Adrien didn't refuse to save himself for nothing and that's important as hell!
Because here is Gabriel now begging Adrien to pull that exact sacrifice even though HE could stop this whenever he wanted, saving Adrien himself.
But he doesn't right away
And do you know why he doesn't?
Because stopping it required letting go of Ladybug and that could possibly lead to him losing the chance of getting her miraculous.
So this rotten insult to fatherhood wants to tell me now that he's a poor, poor father who fears for his dear sons life while basically asking ADRIEN to be the one to pull the bloody heavy sacrifice that will lead in Adriens eyes to horrible and devastating consequences for all of his loved ones and himself.
Just so Gabriel himself doesn't have to do it!
This is Gabriels default reaction by instinct. Gabriel are you FUCKING kidding me with this bullshit? How come I only noticed the fucked up second face of this scene now? I went so long actually giving Gabriel some legit credit for this but in reality this is beyond 7 stars of awful.
Once again, I applause Miraculous for this nuanced charactersation. This is what I will forever and ever love this show for and its fine to portray this because it obviously leads up to something

All part's of The Great Unknown
You studied Thorin's eyes, looking for something that would tell you that he really didn't mean what he had said, that he was just pulling your leg and acting to care to gain your trust again. But all you could see was sadness and regret. He really was sorry for how he had acted when he had heard about your possible parents and now he was trying to make amends. He, and the boys, had apologied, but what about the rest of the company?
"For you, and Fee and Kee, I might forgive - for now - but... Don't expect me to be nice around you with the company or that I've forgiven them. They still act hostile around me" you said truthfully, swallowing the lump in your throat. Sadness overtook Thorin's face, yet he nodded, understanding - or trying to - your situation. If he expected that his apology would include the rest of the dwarves, he was wrong.
"I know, (Y/n). I know. But you must understand, your family, your father especially, was close with Thranduil and his family. The others are jumpy and on edge, because they know this. And your father was there the day when Smaug attacked Erebor and Dale" Thorin says. Your jaw drops. This was something you did not know. And why did you hear about this just now?! And what else where they hiding from you?
"Why am I hearing about this just now?" you asked in shaky voice. "That my parent's were close to a king of Mirkwood realm?" Thorin swallowed, looking away from you. You stared at him, trying to progress this new information. The want to hit your head to something hard just grew. Everything you had heard in these past few days was crazy, and it just got more and more crazy. Soon someone would probably say that your uncle was half elephant and half orc, and you wold more likely just believe them. You were about to say Thorin's name, when he suddenly spoke.
"You know how he, Thranduil, betrayed my people when we needed help after the dragon's attack. Even when your father was there, it had nothing to do with you. You are not at fault of how the Mirkwood elves turned their back to us, and I've tried to tell this to the company, but they are still bitter" Thorin told you. You felt horrible. The people, the dwarves, you had been accompanied these past few months, turned their back to you just because your father had been there when the king of Mirkwood decided not to figt against a dragon? You had seen them as some sort of friends and now it was all just gone. Like smoke disappeared in the air.
You swallowed, or tired to, looking away from Thorin. You were numb, even the sadness left from you. Even when you were happy to know who your biologial parent's might be, it had brought you more sorrow than happiness. Oh how you wshe to be back in Earth, have that fight with your adoptive mother all over again, only ths time to stay in your old room and sulk, like you first thought doing.
"Then I... Then I'm afraid this is where my journey will end. I cannot continue with people who will judge me of what my father and his friend did. I cannot" you said with a broken voice, a sob leaving from you. Thorin's face fell before he could collect himself. And you felt bad about it. You didn't want to hurt him, but since his people didn't accept you, you had to leave.
"Please, (Y/n), consider this" Thorin tried to reason with you, but you had already made your mind. And hint of stubborness hit on, refusing to give in. You knew what the future might bring on; The company acting hostile towards you, talking bad about you, and finally you would snap and turn to a dog, if you could, and attack the said person. You had already atacked Nori when he had kicked the little wolf puppy. The company may not like you, and they had every right not to, but they had no right to talk shit about you.
"I can't, Thorin. Even though I love you, I can't. You are a king and your people doesen't acccept me, there for I have to step down. I have to leave" you told him, tears falling freely from your eyes. It hurt, but this was the only way. Thorin closed his eyes and leaned his forehead against yours.
"I refuse to believe this, amrâlimê. We are bound to be One, and we will find a way to make this work. If nothing else works, I'll pass the grown to Fíli and live with you where ever the Valar's take us, to the end of our days" Thorin says solemnly. You couldn't do anything but sob. You had no hope for the future, but Thorin held the little strings there was. And you didn't know whatever you should hold on to them too, or let it go. For now, all you could do was to sob and lean against Thorin, hugging him as tight as you could. And he held you tight against himself, as if his life depended on it.
The door opened and closed, as the two brothers stepped inside. The dwarves, Bilbo, Gandalf and Beorn turned to them. Silently, without even looking at anyone, Fíli stepped to the kitchen and set the tray down, whilest Kíli stopped after getting in. He glared at everyone, at everything.
"I hope yer happy now. She hates us, more than our people hates elves" the younger prince says before he stumbles away angrily. Half of the company stared after him, whilst Balin sighed and closed his eyes. He had seen this coming, the comflict among the dwarves and the young girl.
"Well, that's that then. As Thorin has said, (Y/n) is not at fault of what her family or close ones have done. (Y/n) was considered as dead when Glorfindel came to protect Erebor from the dragon with Thranduil. She had been concidered dead long before that, alongside with her mother and her people" Balin reminds the others around him with a sad look on his face. The dwarves around him sift, but say nothing. Dwalin turns his glare to his brother and then he sighs.
"If that lass is really who Gandalf thinks she is, then how come she's alive?" he growls. Balin meets his brothers glare with sad eyes. With a fragile breath, he turns his eyes back to the floor and shakes his head. How was he to know this?
"Well, her mother was a maiar. And they could use magic, so there is a possibility that her mother sent her or her soul away in critical moment and saved her life" Balin answers. This was all Balin knew about maiar's and their magic, for the maiar's protected their magic and information about it like dwarves protected their culture, even more secure than that. Dwalin grumbles something about magic, turning to glare the opposite wall.
"Gandalf, is it really possible to send someone to another world with magic?" Bofur asks from the wizard, who had silently watched the dwarves. The wizards eyes turns to Bofur and for long moment he stays silent. No one says anything as they wait silently for the wizard to answer. Then he sighs, turns his eyes away and shakes his head.
"Not to my knowledge. But each maiar can use magic differently, so I would't be surprised if someone has managed to create a portal to another world. Magic is something that is not always shared even between maiars, not to mention to another races or even the Valar's themselves" he finally answers. Then he turns to the door with a grim look in his eyes. "I was there, when (Y/n) mother died and when (Y/n)... died... before he mother... All I know is that Anwya, (Y/n) mother was singing and crying after her 342 years old girl had died. And that her death was the cause of Anwya's death. A little after their death's Glorfindel died after taking down an Balrog. May it be an broken heart or a broken body that claimed him"
The dwarves were quiet, staring the floor, their feet. Beorn started the door thoughtfully and only Bilbo looked at Gandalf. And that small curiousity overtook him.
"But.. Excusme for asking, but... How did (Y/n) die?' Bilbo asked. His eye met Gandalf and the Hobbit saw the sadness, the overhelming sadness taking over the wizard. And it was something Bilbo never assumed to see on the wizards face.
"Their people were caught in orc raid, lead by Azog's forefather Gornag. She was only learning how to fig with bow and sword, not fully knowing how to defend herself. She was caught on guard and stapped by orc blade by vital organs" Gandalf told, his voice being shaky, his eyes being glassy. Oin, the healer of the Company, swalloved and turned away from the company. Because he knew. Injury in vital area were deathly, especially if healer's couldn't be summoned immediately. And the girl had been just a child in the eyes of elves. She had died, when she was just a mere child, Oin thought grimly.
"So... (Y/n) was stabed... And her mother sent her to safety, only to be returned to this world with no memories. What should we do now, wizard?" Dori asks. Gandalf meets the grey haired taylors eyes and he looks toughtfull.
"I've sent a word to Lord Elrond about (Y/n)'s possiblity of being Glorfindel's daughter. When I'll hear about them, we'll be more wise. Until then, all we can do is wait" Gandalf says. Fili looks around the room, before setting in middle of the room, addressing everyone.
"I'd like to remind everyone, that no matter who her paren't are, (Y/n) is still (Y/n). If you cannot accept that, then turn and go back to Blue Mountains for Durin's folk do not need close minded's loyalty" the lad says in same tone, the kingly, commandin tone Thorin used. "You do not only betray King Thorin with closing her off, you betray the Gueen Under the Mountain and I'll tell you this: You have no place under the Mountain, if you cannot accept the one person who has been ready to give her life for the king"

New Chapter #1: The Chance Of Love interview
Even though time has passed, what is the one thing that you concider to be the best aspect of one another?
U-KNOW: MAX is really good at concentrating. He tends to practice a lot on things that he likes and needs to be focused on. And he wouldn't let me know what he's been working on until it's somewhat complete. He's tenacious; when he feels that he needs to achieve something, he really digs into it. And this is a good motivation for me, and benefits both of us. Maintaining his own pace is another great strength of MAX. He's the type to steadily get things done at his own pace, while I’m the type to be more expressive. We balance each other well.
MAX: U-KNOW is a person whose passion is unrivaled. I believe his passion was the driving force behind our team that has brought me here. I think U-KNOW has the fiercest passion in the world, where none can come close to. And I think I'm the world's best in supporting his passion. Haha.
What do you talk about the most together after being discharged from the military?
U-KNOW: I think we talked about our future as TVXQI the most, and how to show more characteristics of MAX and U-KNOW without losing TVXQ!’s identity. We're in the process of finding which "colors” would fit each of us since it’s as important to develop ourselves for us to continuously perform as TVXQ!. We also discussed about figuring out a way to connect with the public and interact with our fans more.That's why we recently started Instagram to do so. And I used to tell MAX about keeping ourselves in good shape, so we made sure to hear from people that we improved after returning from the military. Of course we discuss a lot about the music we'd like to focus on as well.
What does ‘fate’ mean to you?
U-KNOW: The fact that I became a member or TVXQ! and met MAX is fate. I wonder sometimes whether I would've been able to meet him if I hadn’t become a member of TVXQ!. I'm thankful that I got to meet MAX and the good people around me. I never thought of us receiving so much love consistently for 15 years, so I'm really thankful to our fans, I believe the circumstances have changed for many of our fans during those 15 years as well. Some may have become parents and others may be chasing after their dreams. I think our fans have grown beautifully along with us through TVXQ!. So I'm thankful for being a part of TVXQ!, and I truly believe that it's fate.
Under what name are you guys saved in each other’s phone? Why?
U-KNOW: I'm curious, too... MAX is saved as "My CHANGMIN". Haha. I think I unconsciously think that way. We're a part of TVXQ!, so I'm very used to saying "my or our". We might have opposite tendencies but are very similar when it comes to what we value. It's just that the way we express things are different. Anyway, it's "My CHANGMIN"!
MAX: It's just "U-KNOW Hyung". Hahahaha. It's not as interesting as our fans would have liked it to be. I have my siblings saved as their names or saved as "my younger so and so". I have my mother saved as "Madam", so I don't really place much affections into the contact names on my phone. Haha.
Tips to staying together as a team for 15 years?
MAX: We've got along very well. Haha. We were able to stay as a team together this long because we understood and respected each other for who we are. There's no right or wrong answer for being different people. We used to argue in the past because we had different opinions. But since we understand each other's strengths and weaknesses now, we don't have to force ourselves to accommodate everything. It's simpler to be a team by accepting and understanding each other for who we are.
The question you would like to ask one another.
MAX: It's actually more of a wish rather than a question; I want to tell U-KNOW to allow himself some space so that he could comfortably enjoy what he does. When it comes to work, U-KNOW is a perfectionist, so I wish he could ease off a bit and not be so hard on himself since it'll be harder for him if he pushes himself too much.

If you could have any pet in the world, all expenses paid, what would it be and why?
There are lots of pets I’d love to have. XD But in the end, I’ll probably always fall back on a cat. Or maybe a rat. Those are the animals I’m most familiar with and I know how to take care of. I trust myself to be able to take care of them. I think that’s very important.
Also, when it comes to cats… I grew up with cats and I love them. I think they’re the perfect pet for me. They’re cute, they can be independant but most cats are also very affectionate.
I’ve also had several rats, but what I don’t like about rats is the fact they live so short. That’s why for now I don’t want a rat, because despite them being amazing, smart and social animals there’s so much heartbreak I’ve been through with my previous rats… for now I don’t wanna go through that again.
That being said, here’s a list of animals that part of me would love to get if I had the time and money and I think I’ll be able to handle it:
Ferret. I had a friend in high school who had a ferret. He was the cutest thing in the world. He had only three legs and his name was Toby. I could get along with Toby pretty well. I think ferrets are adorable and clever and really fun! But they require good care, and right now I don’t have the time or room for one. I might concider getting one in the future perhaps. Also, I’d have to be able to handle the smell because even when you clean their habitat every day, there’s still a smell.
Degu. I took care of my cousin’s degus for a few weeks once. They were so cute and fun. Kinda like rats in a way, but a little less social and much more tempramental.
Bearded Dragon. I actually find reptiles really interesting? And from what I’ve seen bearded dragons can be pretty friendly. But I have to admit I haven’t done much research on how to keep one as a pet. So I’ll have to do that before seriously concidering it.
And finally, one pet that’s …more of a fantasy of mine to have rather than a serious concideration. So please don’t freak out, I won’t do this.
Fox. YES, I know foxes aren’t good pets. I follow Juniper the fox on instagram, and I know all about how hard they are to keep as pets. How sassy and tempramental they are, how much care and attention they require and how much stress they cause. That’s the reason I don’t think I will ever even seriously concider getting a fox. But then again…. foxes are my favourite animals. So you can’t blame me for fantasizing about having one sometimes, right? I don’t actually wanna do it though, I’ve done my research.
In the end of course, all animals require care and attention and I will always think hard and do a lot of research before getting any pet.

Just my opinion... (Spoilers Career Of Evil)
From time to time I read comments that Robin shouldn’t leave Matthew at the altar or right after the wedding takes place because that would spoil the tension between her and Cormoran and if Matthew is out of the picture she and Cormoran will get together right away!
I SO DON’T AGREE WITH THAT!!!
In my opinion Matthew hasn’t something else to give to the story, we saw how he disliked Robin’s job and because she was changing and problems he caused, how jealous he was about Cormoran, how he didn’t value Robin as a woman, that he disrespected her and her wishes, that he cheated on her in the worst moment of her life just to satisfy his needs and ego! Matthew saw how Robin reacted to Cormoran’s presence at the wedding so if he stays around is only from preventing Robin to go back to work with Cormoran and to show us how weak Robin remains about making life changing decisions! Yes Matthew is smart and he might not make a big deal out of her reaction that day but while alone with her I’m sure he will put an ultimatum: me and our marriage or him and your work! If Robin yet again chooses to save her marriage the only thing we can do is when Matthew will do something to her that will make her leave him for good but the books are about Robin working with Cormoran so I don’t know how the story could go on that way...
I believe that the tension between Robin and Cormoran will grow while both of them are single and without any obstacles between them! Cormoran knows he is in love with her but doesn’t want to act on those feelings (to not complicate things at work, because he conciders himself damaged and not the right man for her etc) so it will be really interesting to read how he will try to stay away from her even if now she is available! Robin on the other hand has no idea why she feels that way about him and his relationships and gives always the wrong motives to those feelings and it will be also very interesting to read how she will discover she is falling in love with Cormoran and if she will act on those feelings!
There is no need at all for Robin to jump from one relationship to another and in fact it would be a huge mistake to do so as I see it! The tension between them can go on that way for two or three books without Matthew present!
As for those saying that Robin is to good to leave him at the altar or right after she gets married to him well it’s about damn time for her to do something about herself and don’t let fear destroy her future! I still hope Cormoran’s presence at the wedding will be Robin’s “kairos moment!”

Reminiscence
Recently I’ve been speaking to the people in my class more. One of the things that I’d always thought as a bit weird from my school and more precisely my program is that we all know each other. I know every single person in my grade because we aren’t even a 100 people. We’ve all been in the same classes for the most part and we all know each other. Obviously, that’s just my program since we are about 2 000 people in my school and my program is just a very small portion of it. We are about 500, every grade mixed together, to be part of the same program so there is a big difference in the number of people.
I’ve always kept to myself. I’ve never had many friends and I’ve never talked much in class. In my first year I spent the first 3 days of school basically mute. I literally said nothing. When a teacher called on me to take attendance I would raise my hand and not say anything. Usually they asked which name I prefered since I have 2 and I would reply with a very short answer. In my first year I had 3 friends. I was known and I am still known as the bookworm. I read all the time and I still do. I started opening up in my second year. It was such a noticab;e change in me that a person that had been in my class the year before noted the difference. He literally said “___ has been talking more since the start of the year.” (I’m not going to say my real name because I don’t feel like it’s important to the story) I also used to have my hair up in a ponytail all the time. I still do but I like to try a bit of different hairstyles every now and then. But the hair was also an important thing. So much that the first time that I let my hair down around the people of my class everyone was shocked. I remember someone saying “It’s the first time I’ve seen ___ without her hair in a ponytail.”
But for all I might say about the things that happened to me I actually had a lot of fun. Since we all knew each other it was almost like we had all known each other for years before coming to the school. That’s the kind of close relationship I had with my classmates even though I never concidered them my friends. There was a girl in my class during my 3rd year that had gone to the same primary school as me that told me that she was gay. In turn I told her about my worries concerning my future. As a class, we all had fun together. When anything funny happened we would all laugh together. I remember this one guy in my class that was called Oliver that was just the stupidest and funniest person I’d ever met. He had to do a presentation once, I don’t even remeber what it was supposed to be about, all I remember is that he was talking about a plane and to explain that the plane blew up he just went “Boom!” while doing the mind blown motion with his arms. I remember another one of his presentations that was supposed to be about a religious place in the city and he was on the site of the place giving us a tour of the place which was really cool and then he tried to show us all a portrait or a stained glass thing I don’t remember. I remember that the site didn’t let him zoom past a certain point so in the middle of his presentation he just turned to the class and said “Just squint” It was so funny that to this day I still laugh at it.
There is also something that I never noticed before this year. I had absolutely no clue that this was true till the guy pointed it out to me. So I said how we are basically 100 people in my program right? Well I know almost everyone in the 100. But something that I’d never noticed was that there is one guy called Jeremy that has literally been in my class every single year. In all my five years at that school he’s always been in my class. That’s insane. I had no clue till he told me. I thought about it for a while not sure if he was saying the truth but then I realised that yup it’s true. He has been in my class each year for 5 years. That’s just insane. Since we’ve always been together we started talking about all the stuff that happened to us that we both knew. Mainly the Oliver stories since those are just hilarious. It’s really a shame that I never realised that he was always there since I also have loads of memories with him. Like the one time he tried to take my book in english class and I chased after him till he gave it back. I got it back eventually and then I hit him with it. It was a hardcover book and I’m guessing that it hurt him.

I meant to do this for a while now, writing down some things that happened in the last days/weeks. Nothing too important, I just need to write it down, perhaps that’ll make me feel better.
My sister had some things to figure out in the last 6 months, talking to the authority how to solve it, but she didn’t do shit. My mum had to do literally everything. Problem is, my sister doesn’t live at home anymore (that would’ve just taken a couple of weeks at most in that case). Also, she doesn’t answer our texts. Sometimes I get an answer when I text her something gaming related, but even that is more concidence. My mum had to basically ambush her where she lived so they could take care of that thing, which unfortunately also involved my sister accusing my mum (and also my dad) of things that were really not true. And she also said how she has problems doing anything because of depression but she didn’t want to get help before she starts working, because she is worried that she might get denied a job because of her medical file. Which is bullshit of course, you are allowed to outright lie in the interview. There are exceptions but generally the employer here does not need to know your medical history. And if that does happen, we have the anti discriminatory act (or whatever it’s called) here, so they are not allowed to do that. However, unless she is told, there is no way knowing why she didn’t get the job. I remember when I tried to apply for training, my rejection letters only said that they chose someone else. What I’m really worried about, is that she’s supposed to come back to live with my parents and me. And my mum and her never really were on the best terms, tho my sister only has herself to blame for that. I just hope that she starts changing and stops just ignoring very urgent problems. Because my parents won’t be able to fund her not doing anything. And my other sister are sure as hell not doing it. But I really love both my sisters and she is the only person I know, who also loves gaming, plus we have similiar games we play since we got each other into some games. And if she doesn’t start changing, at one point we’ll have to break of contact, and then I’ll have no one to talk to about games anymore.... She just has been lying way too many times, that we don’t know what we can believe her at all.
I wrote and send 8 applications for training 2 days ago, and this week at least 2 more will follow. My dad said to my mum said I was not better than my sister in regards to getting training and advancing in that direction in general. And, I just hate how blind my father is to my sister’s mistakes. This whole situation was completely her fault, and yeah, she said she applied to uni. But she didn’t get a reply back. The thing is, my other sister works at the uni where she studies, so she knows a bit how the administrative processes work, and also we live in germany. And then there’s the fact that she’d been lying so many times these last months, so I don’t know whether she even applied at all. One of the unis she named didn’t even exist, heck in that whole there wasn’t a uni, so kinda begs the question, whether everything is a lie or not.
A bit more than 3 weeks ago I applied for a job and haven’t heard anything so far. It’s fine tho, my sister’s friend works at that place and said that they have so many applications (not for the job I applied for tho, I hope so at least) to work on right now that waiting between 2 and 4 weeks is normal. And my sister’s friend had her supervisor put a recommendation on my application and she generally put in a good word for me and said that I’d be able to do that job. The thing is, I’d work with databases (basically something very similiar to a system administrator) I did work with a database in my previous job. However, compared to the database they have, the other one is a joke. So I’m kinda worried whether I’d be actually able to do it but also it really interests me. Plus, I’d be learning to with a software I might need in my future work so that’s also good. But I’m also scared that i’ll be no good at that job and that it’ll reflect badly on my sister’s friend..... Can only wait for a reply for now....
my parents had a fight over something that happened 2 years ago and my mum reminded my dad that it was his decision and that she had no say in it (which is true, it was a very rash decision on his part and he half-assed it and then my mum had to do it properly) He accused her of twisting reality and then he looked at me like he wanted me to agree with him, to which I only replied, leave me out of your fight (I just came downstairs to drink something and didn’t really pay attention what they were fighting about, stresses me out enough without knowing the reason). And the thing is, my father not immidiately believing what my mum says, not so unusual, my father accusing my mum of twisting reality, that’s new. And I’m honestly hoping that this was only a one-time thing. My mum knows I’m behind her in case he pulls shit like this again, so that’s something.
My skin problems are still there. It’s been more than 6 months and my hands still have blisters on them. Also, I still haven’t found a skin care routine. I tried something from lush, but it kinda seemed like it made it worse? I know that many people say that the first week of using new skin products looks like they’re making it worse, but I tried to use it daily and as soon as I had to stop (because of my stupid skin) it got better. Would be nice if anything would help.
I really wanted to hook up my ps3 to the tv in the living room, but there are already so many things plugged in into the power strip, and the last someone tried to connect a console there was a short circuit and the main board was fried.
I visited my sister yesterday and got to cuddle her very soft cat. I love her cat, she is so silly and very soft. I let her watch some videos because she was kinda stuck in the hallway when we made dinner and she was definitely not happy with that. She was screaming all the time and marked my shoes. At least my shoes are now covered in gray cat hair again. She even let me put my face on her, she was very patient yesterday.
I got visited by a cat today! Seeing a cat 2 days in a row, I feel very blessed. She was so beautiful and she has a really high-pitched meow. Now I know that there are two friendly neighbourhood cats who are also very playful and affectionate. But this cat is a bit more affectionate. She explored our garden and every time I thought she was done and would go on her way, she’d come back running to me and meowing at me. And also purring as soon as started petting her. Also she attacked a flower twice. The first time her tail somehow got wound around it and the second time she attacked a flower with lots of butterflies on it. I spent 45 minutes or so in the garden with the cat. She is so soft. And she did a small butt wiggle each time she jumped to get the shoe lace. I saw her the first time today, but I’m hoping that I’ll see her around more often like the other cuddly cat. No idea who exactly both belong to. The other one is wearing a collar, this one not tho, so no idea. But this makes around 6 outdoor cats that live in my neighbourhood. I mean, there are like 20 houses here, so that’s a nice number.
The other cat brought me a mouse the other day.

I don't have any really concrete questions, more hoping for a discussion to clear my thoughts.There are two things I'm certain I want to do with my life right now, get my BA and find a way back to Japan. I spent two years in Kyoto, and seeing as I never got around to get my bachelors degree I'm hardpressed to get a visa. Both are things I equally want to do, so combining the both seemed perfect to me.It does however, incur some thoughts that should be processed before proceeding with applications or getting my mind set too hard on it.With my previous grades and, mostly, test-scores, I'm able to fulfill requirements for pretty decent universities. Although I'm no harvard-material, looking at the accepted grades/scores from the highest ranking university of my country (Around world 70) I'd be accepted on the spot to literally anything that university has to offer. The question is mainly how important you guys find it to graduate from a known, solid university. I know it gets more important when it comes to graduate-students, but how heavily would you generally weigh it when it comes to under-grad?Following the thought my first question, and the reason I'm posting this in /r/japan, is that the location is very important to me. Having spent two years in Kyoto, I've managed to make alot of friends and I feel like my life should be there. There is, however, not an abundance of choices to be had for ungraduate-programs that are offered fully in english in Kyoto. My first though was Kyoto University, which a few friends (all Japanese) have either graduated or attended. However, although I concider the chances of my getting accepted are realistic though far from certain, only one program is available in english. And I'm not interested in that one. Damn.Then I found a university called Doshisa, which offers a undergraduate-program for a bachelors in liberal arts. It also seems really well catered towards international students, which before my first time in Japan I would think isn't a big deal. But it is, Japan knows how to make things as inconvinient as possible for foreigners.Some thoughts I'm sure would help anyone willing to discuss this; I really insist on staying in Kansai area, heavily favoring Kyoto. To me, getting a bachelors degree would mean some kind of self-fulfillment, a way to open some doors that would otherwise be locked to me and a chance of me finding a job I'd enjoy doing. I'm not looking for further education once obtaining it, but it's still in the realm of possibilities. The thought of getting back to Japan makes me feel abit fuzzy on the inside. As far as actual jobs are concerned I don't intend to aim too highly, money is secondary. Although my mind might change, I'm hoping for a future in south-east asia (been to most of it) and Japan is ranked highly on the list of places I'd concider spending most of my working-life at.Getting my degree in my own countrý in a top100 university would be free, as opposed to forking out ~30,000$ for one in Japan(provided I don't land any form of scholarship). The thought of staying here makes me feel very non-fuzzy inside.It's 4 in the morning on a work-night, these thoughts are haunting me enough to have lost alot of sleep over the last few weeks. I hope these ramblings are atleast coherent to some degree. Probably not.

In continuity Behavior and Details of the Sentimonster and what we can take from it + The effect of Cataclysm
Has anyone noticed yet that the two Sentimonster we have seen up to date (Hawkmoths in "Mayura" and Baby Augusts in "Miraculer") show a very particular Behavior pattern which helps us to better understand these creatures? It actually kinda blew my mind when I noticed it, let me show you! :D
But let me warn you, this got long ^^
I'll start with Augusts Lollipop Sentimonster because it has more screen time.
Same as always with Hawkmoth, Mayura sends out one of her corrupted feather after she spots the upset Baby August. In context of this episode, one has to remeber that this Sentimonsters attack actual purpose was to set Chloe up for getting akumatized, so going for the Baby here (even though its morally wrong as hell) was not a bad move at all.
(Behold the Lollipop-monster, that my medicine influenced 2 am gif making self lovingly called “Lollipopulus Giganticus”, the diabetis brother of Mothitus Giganticus but we will get to that later)
The design. is. on point! The “akumatized” (do we really not have a name for this yet??) person is a baby who hasnt developed any complex thoughts and hasnt quite adopted the weird human need to completely humanoid monsters yet. The Baby is simple minded = The Sentimonster has a simplistic design without actual features or anything. August just has a HUGE desire for Lollipops so thats what the monster is. Some big ass Lollipops. Love it. 10/10, would lick again
Also take note how the Sentimonster stands here. It appears right in front of the Baby and even though it has no features like a face or anything we can still adumbrate from the camera-angle and the placement of the head and the lower arms that it faces away from August. Like a protector ready to defend. Remember that the Peacocks power is to summon a protector for someone and the following moments will give us more insight on how these protectors behave in a special occation.
Right after the Lollipop monster appears as his protector we see this. August is so delighted to see gigantic Lollipops that his pacifier (is this how you call it in english? I only get weird words as results when I look it up) falls out of his mouth and thats the catalyst moment for the monsters behavior!
Cuz the feather is in the pacifier and in my theory the feather-akumatized object is how the feather-akumatized Person can control their protector. Which of course they should be able to. The Akuma victims are also free to use their powers to their own will and imo it would make very little sense to give someone a protector but only the (maybe very busy) miraculous holder has control over it. So I think as long as the feather-akumatized person is in possesion of the feather-object they alongside Mayura are the masters (with Mayura, as the miraculous holder, still having the upper hand like Hawkmoth being able to “dicipline” his free will Champions through pain (Which btw makes actually alot of sense even if or ESPECIALLY if the Miraculos are meant to be used for good. You dont wanna have a champion running around refusing orders/ or using their powers for a bad purpose without a way to keep them in check just in case. I think Mayura will have something like this too. That whoever right now posesses the feather-object can be “diciplint” by her for misusing the protector. But I digress)
But the thing is, August looses his pacifier the moment the monster appears, so the only one in control over it is Mayura at the moment but she...doesnt, the whole time. She just lets the monster do whatever on autopilot (Which makes sense concidering that the Sentimonster is only there for the sake of assembling the heros again and upsetting Chloe. Why commanding and controlling the monster when its not needed for the plan? Natalie saves her energie whICH IS PROBABLY A GOOD IDEA SINCE USING THE PEACOCK IS KILLING HER)
What? What I mean with on autopilot? Oh let me show you, its awesome!
Cuz the moment that August, the person the Lollipop PROTECTOR is supposed to PROTECT, looses his control over his Sentimonster it knows that its little human master has no way to command it in the needed ways to protect himself from danger anymore. And since the Peacock isnt giving it other commands the Monster follows its instinct
And what is this instinct?
This!
Right the moment its human master looses the control object, it turns around to check how and why this happened. Here it happened by sheer accident. August doesnt understand that its important that he keeps his pacifier but under normal circumstances the human master loosing the feather object would mean that they were attacked, hurt or otherwise in danger
And thats exactly what the Sentimonster is thinking, when it sees August being taken away by his mother. Because in the next shot with it
We see. it chasing. after. THE BABY! Oh my god kudos to you SentiSweety, you go protect your “kidnapped” little master!
This is such an awesome trait these Sentimonsters seem to have that the moment they fear their humans are in fundamental danger without being able to protect themselves with their help, their priority number 1 is chasing after them to save them. It makes so much sense that they would have this instinct but somehow it still blew my mind when i noticed it! :D
Okay next and last important Lollipopulus moment (I think i’ll keep that name. My loyal Diabetes son deserves a name and fight me on this however you want, but he looks like a “Lollipopulus” kind of guy to me. Look at that jaw-line, it demands an “ulus” ending”)
The Sentimonster isnt just attacking LB and CN for the heck of it. We know that it thinks its master got kidnapped and is in danger, so when it sees our heros here getting ready to fight IT, of course it would think that they are “bad” too. Probably for an Sentimonster whoever is against it and the master-to-protect will be seen as “allied evil” by it, especially in autopilot modus.
Also. When you fear your protégé is in mortal danger so you wanna save them at all cost and then someone attacks YOU, you fight back. HARD. Because when the attackers hinder or even defeat you, noone is there to save and protect your protégé. And for an Sentimonster, save and protecting their masters is their entire purose of existing. So yes, Lollipopulus here wont hesitate a second to fight LB and CN just so it can get to August.
Though I might add, that I still think Sentimonsters are resonable creatures when used by or for a good person. They only want the best for their masters. So lets say Mayura would have featherrupted Augusts mother instead but she still had lost the control-object. So while running away with August (and the Sentimonster running after her in autopilot) she had met one of her 3 men and they ended up cowerig somewhere trying to protect each other and the baby. When the monster had arrived and had seen that the unkown man is protecting her and that SHE is protecting HIM too, the Sentimonster wouldnt have done anything to the man. Obviously the man is no danger to its master and the master trusts the man.
When the master has the control-object this is even easier because then you can simply tell the monster that your friends, familie or whatever arent enemies. Then they will be under the Sentimonsters protection too. Of course this works the other way around too and is probably how the Sentimonsters will be used for evil. Give them an akuma victim as master and they can be one hell of a threat trying to protect them.
So coming back to the situation in the gif. I think if LB and CN had calmly talked to the Sentimonster, asking if its looking for its protégé and if they can help, the Lollipop monster would not have attacked at all. Like I said, the Monsters just want the best for their masters and to protect them. The way I see it, when a Sentimonster is on autopilot it decides for itself who's friend and who's foe. This could lead to interesting development in future because right now team miraculous still sees most everything very black-and-white, as seen above, they inmediadly went to attack when it probably wasn't needed at all. The fact that Chat Noirs family are literally the bad guys is gonna help alot to open up the grey area between black and white but smaller things like this, trying to understand and becoming allies with Sentimonster could also add another layer to their growth as well
Though Mayura was still in the picture here so she totally would have commanded the monster to attack the heros. Still you get my point.
Okay let's go over to Hawkmoths Sentimonster before I'll continue endlessly
With this one I'll kinda skip the beginning, I'll just go quickly over the most important factors and then focus more on the new and interesting stuff.
With Hawkmoth we saw that Mayura does the same as he does. She sends out something corrupted, it finds an object, she telepathically communicates with the person and we get MOTHITUS GIGANTICUS
Before I start let me quickly point out that just like Augusts Sentimonster the butterfly appears right before Hawkmoth, facing his foes and ready to defend its master. The behavior pattern is there and will mostly likely be continued is most of the Sentimonster cases.
Alright lets talk about the design!
When you concider that Mothitus’ purpose was to be the “teaser” Sentimonster and to gently be our introduction for Mayuras powers and for the bigger and grander Sentimonsters to come then this is one great design. Its obviously something we havent seen yet but it isnt completely out there either so that we dont understand at all what going on anymore literally 20 seconds before the end of the fight. That would have been a bad style choice for a (maybe) never returning Monster, so they definitly did the right thing with this butterfly.
The design in general is really gorgeous in my opinien. Look at the little details! The wings, the tail, the head! I also like that designers were able to create a model that can be both a butterfly and a moth at the same time. Yes they are simular, but they still look different enough that they totally could have created a model which just would have looked like either a butterfly OR a moth. They made it work with both and thats awesome!
Even if I know that Mothitus doesnt exactly count as a legit Sentimonster (since its practically more used as an lore and future teaser than an actual enemy) I still find the parallels between Hawkmoth and his butterfly monster and August and his Lollipop monster very interesting. Like I said above, August Lollipop monster was gigantic but simplistic in design since August is just a simple minded baby with a huge desire for Lollipops. Key words gigantic but simple. Hawkmoths Sentimonster on the other hand is alot smaller but much richer in detail because of his adult (and designer) mind. Beside that Gabriel also focused alot more on the monsters function than August (what a surprise I know). The butterflys wind are so strong that they can blow away all the heros and untangle Ladybugs yoyo net. Also with its wings and smaller body it would be able to quickly hunt the heros no problem. The Lollipop monster on the other hand was only good for crashing its Lolli arms into buildings, beside that it had no other useful qualities. Also It was too large to effectivly chase after the “kidnapped” August, not exactly well thought out August up your Monster game please.
In shorter Hawkmoth created a useful protector and August...well, his lollipop fever dream. Babies will be babies
Okay lets start with what is new though (or better said, what different this time).
For one the fact that August lost his control object but Hawkmoth never had it on him in the first place. This actually doesnt make a lot of difference in the Sentimonsters behavior, just that lollipopulus checked on his master what hapened that August lost his object and if he is in danger and Mothitus already knew that his Master was in grave danger and didnt had to check to know.
Then “Mayura” gave us the comfirmation straight away that Natalie can snap the Sentimonsters away like that
Also this shows us that Mayura is willing to strategically stop the Sentimonsters when she sees no use in them anymore. That is very different from Hawkmoth! She seems to really be here only to get results, not to make a show or take some kind of sadistic pleasure out of this or whatever. This move alone makes her seem like a scarily competent and level headed supervillain and honestly, its still one of my favorite things Mayura has done til now. Just this little snap speaks VOLUMES about her! :D
And then the BIGGEST difference is that after accepting the featherruption August was happy and healthy whereas Hawkmoth became weak and hurt.
Before “Miraculer” came out this is what I thought was what would normally happen to the featherrupted people. That because of the peacocks brokeness the people who Mayura powers up get hurt along side her (cuz before his featherruption Gabriel was completely fine) but, no, August is perfectly fine. This means there are two options here
That something happenes in “Reflektdoll” which makes Mayuras powers useable again so that the akuma victims wont get weakened from her giving them back-up (which is possible in my opinien, I could see this happening)
That something was different about this featherruption that normally wouldnt be the case. And I might have an idea even if I dont know if its really something the show would do. Would be totally awesome though if this were legit!
Okay, the one detail that DEFINITELY is different here from at least 90% of all the future featherruptions is that Hawkmoths control-object was CATACLYSMED!
To understand why I think the control-object being cataclysmed beforehand would have such an effect I need to clearify that even though I’m saying that Hawkmoth and Mayura “corrupt” their butterflies/akumas, feathers and the victims, its frankly nowhere true at all. I just like saying it like that. What they do is basically just filling the butterflies/feathers with power and let them find a fitting person so they can 1. build the connection between them and the chosen and 2. then manipulate the chosen people so they join them. There is no corruption going on here. Neither do they break or control either the butterflies/feathers nor the people themselves. They power up, thats what they do.
The cats power of destruction on the other hand is a whole different story here.
I’m planning on doing a whole post just about this at some point in future with alot more details, thoughts and ideas but I’ll try to do my best to explained it here without putting you guys through another 5000+ words of wildly digressing. (Me now 4 hours later: Yeah no I did it again, It got long xD)
Basically my point is that the Ladybug is capable of purifying the akumas and the feathers. “Purifying” IS the right word to use here because something doesnt have to be explicitly “corrupted” to be purifyied. As I said, Hawkmoth and Mayura power up, that means even if they dont corrupt them they still change the nature of the feather/butterfly and that is what the Ladybug reverses. So Ladybugs purifying (and the Miraculous Ladybug for that matter) is basically her taking back the changes other people did to something. Thats whats happening every episode and thats why shes the one again dealing with the feathers. She reverses what has been changed, no other power does that.
Back to Chat Noir
The show has explicitly told us that the Cat and the Ladybug are the most powerful miraculous in existence and that fact still stands even if Chat noir right now can not and doesnt WANT to use his powers or explore them to their limits in the current situation (speak, that they try to spread hope and safty in terror attacks which wreck the city almost on a daily basis. Not exactly the right time or space to use and try out new ways of using the boundless power of destruction). I dont think I have to explain that this is not how the situation will be forever, of course Adrien will actually use his powers to their limits later, the show forshadowed that to hell and back by now and “Chat Blanc” will VISUALLY introduce us to what CN actal powers look like (I'M SO EXCITED!!!) the same way they did it with queen bee/wasp (im not the only one who made the connection that they use the power up of the akumatization to show us or at least forshadow the Miraculouses future actual powers right? RIGHT???
Anyway, I DIGRESS
The Cat and the Ladybug are equals and since they are also Yin and Yang for each other it also means that not only do they as individuals and the nature of their miraculouses complete each other, their powers too complete the circle.
So when Ladybug can purify (again, meaning that she reverses every damage and everything that other people do to something) the Cat should be able to corrupt everything.
To keep this paragraph shorter (I will go into so much more detail in the post for this topic oh my god) lets just explain this with the example from the Heros day. The Cats destruction and “corruption” is showing itself here with something Chat Noir is doing all the time: He isnt completely pullverizing the akuma-object to dust, hes rather damaging and weakening it to the point were it cant be used for its original purpose anymore and is easily breakable/aleady falling apart. (This seems to be the default affect of Cataclysm) In this case it is Hawkmoths weapon, which is his cane/sword.
In my theory when Chat Noir uses Cataclysm on something he not only does the above, he also inflicts the still existing object with some kind of...lets call it a virus. Now you may ask yourself “Why? Why should destroying something so hard that it looses basically every usage it had + infecting it with an destructive virus but NOT actually destroying it out of existence be the default state of cataclysmed objects? Shouldnt the power of pure destruction rather basically wipe everything touched out of existence?”
And that is were we were wrong! And I am saying “we” because its almost 4am here and I just fucking noticed this and went back on my laptop oh my GOD I’m excited again! :D
The default of Cataclysm isnt “destroying it out of existence” because that is not what “Destruction” is. That is “Annihilation”! Destruction and annihilation are two very different concepts that shouldnt be mixed up but everybody is doing it because of how we use the word “destruction/destroy” in our daily vocabulary. That is why probably almost everybody of us at least once asked themselves why Chats cataclysm is portrayed so “oddly” in the show. “He’s not really destroying it, hes just fucking it up!” And thats exactly what hes doing because thats exactly what his power is! He’s destroying it so fucking hard that the cataclysmed object loosed every usage it could have. He’s not messing like Roi Singe either, the object is completely fucking worthless now! 100%. But what hes NOT doing is taking it out of existence because THAT is Annihiliation. Not the concept of his power. The only time you will see annihilation instead of destruction is when it concernes BODYS (Like Chats cataclysm death in “Catalyst” because by god they really can not show messed up human bodies slowly dying on the show. Only exception)
Now working with the actual “destruction” concept and not with the wrongly used “annihilation” one, the destructive “virus” in the destroyed object seems alot more plausible. Because when Chat Noir uses the power of pure destruction on something, really every usage it could possibly have needs to be effected by it and THAT also includes the possibility of it being used as an out of reach object for Akumatizations or featherruptions for example. Without the “Virus” Hawkmoths cane still would have had a consequence free use there but WITH the virus spreading through it the featherruption got corrupted by Chats destruction and hurt and weakened Hawkmoth so much that a limping Gabriel collapsed around somewhere still nearby and had to detransform out of exhaustion. And frankly, Mayura only powered up the cane for a really short amount of time. Imagine how Gabriel would have ended up if this had gone longer. He probably wouldnt have been able to recover so quickly afterwards
