it was a lovely day for it, and the scenery on the way up the foothills was great, with views out over the Annalong Valley
the mourne wall stretches for almost 20 miles across the mountains - it was built by hand over 18 years and it's pretty spectacular
we crossed the wall part way up, and after a quick sandwich stop where we exchanged rocky mountain songs (I was on the Rocky Mountain Way side of the divide, they were backing Rocky Mountain High) we began the ascent
