heat wave

The pathetic styrofoam blades of his hand-held fan whip around furiously, barely generating a breeze despite the buzzing motor.  Myungjun ought to get around to replacing the old thing; a folder would be a more functional fan at this point.

Despite the broken air-conditioner, Myungjun cannot really complain about the stifling heat.  The gentlemen doing manual labor across the street have peeled off their shirts to reveal muscles, glistening with sweat.  It’s not every day that Myungjun gets to gape while doing his laundry.  So what, he’s lonely.  Sue him. For the most part, he spends an hour and a half in the laundromat, nagging at Sanha to pay attention to him.

Sitting on top of one of his washers, Myungjun stares as they move new furniture into a newly leased storefront.  He regrets letting Sanha scurry off to tend to other matters with a flimsy promise of returning before his laundry actually finishes.  He supposes he’s lucky that Sanha left him with the change to cover his dryers.  He loves the kid, but sometimes he thinks he is too permissive and forgiving.

Another customer enters, lugging his bag of clothes with shoulders slumped in defeat.  He ends up at the washer next to Myungjun.  His tank top reveals toned arms and exposes his sharp collar bones.  He pushes back his sweat-damped hair with his hand and sweat beads on his neck--

Myungjun needs to stop.  Ogling dudes across the street is markedly different than leaning forward to creep on a man two feet away.  He glances at the man’s face to see how close he is to being socked in the jaw.  A look of defeated confusion contorts his face.

“Do you need help?” Myungjun blurts out.

“The machine ate my coins,” he whines before killing Myungjun with a pathetic puppy dog eyes.

Myungjun leans over and whacks the washer’s coin acceptor. 

Nothing happens. 

He hits it again, and they hear the clink of coins being registered.  Myungjun smiles and turns to the man. “Bess is temperamental,” he says matter-of-factly with a knowing smile; then, he notices how close his face is to this stranger.  His first thought should be: BACK AWAY NOW. But of course, that’s his second thought, coming in meekly behind the ‘holy shit he’s so beautiful’ thought that arrived first.  

He backs away slowly, “Kim Myungjun.”

“Moon Bin,” the man replies, offering a small smile. “Thank you.”

“Don’t mention it.”

Myungjun lets Bin begin his load of laundry, waiting quietly as an odd silent tension builds in the stale air.  Silence is the worst.  So Myungjun tries to fill it.

“Do you come here often?”

Oh god.  Oh no.  Myungjun regrets everything; how could he ask Moon BIn a question in the cheesiest pickup line of all time.  He could pretend to faint and blame it on the heat.  He should do that.  All he can do is pray that Moon Bin lets it slide without making a big deal out of it.

BIn snorts and rests his elbow on the edge of the machine, “Are you running out of breath?”

“Sorry?” 

“From running through my head.”

Myungjun blushes.  Although Bin probably cannot tell because he’s already flushed from the heat.

this is different than i thought it would be.  this writing style in this feels more suitable for a longer fic, or maybe not.  who knows.  vivez les rarepairs.

Patrick and Kevin= consensual NOT rape

I am sick of people saying that Kevin violated/raped and/or manipulated Patrick. It’s not true because if it were they wouldn’t be sharing the looks they do with each other and they wouldn’t have this MUTUAL steaming sexual chemistry. Takes two to tango okay and patrick could’ve walked out of the office that night as fast as he came in if he wanted. Let’s not pretend he didn’t know what was going on-dark room, no people, beers on the job he knew Kevin was yearning for him as much as he was yearning for him. Let’s be honest he was gonna have sex with him whether or not Kevin was taken. I mean when you have a spark like that it’s something that just can’t be fizzled. I think for them to have taken that BIG step were Kevin obviously saw that it was Patricks first bottoming that he-patrick somewhat trusts him to be his first. I think that it’s obvious that they get each other in some ways and that patrick has BEEN pining after Kevin for a while, albeit he didn’t exactly jump him the moment he kissed like I expected but he certainly hesitated to push him off. Sounds to me like a guy that wasn’t being manipulated but in shock that the moment he’s been wanting was finally here.

Honestly I’m hoping next season (I’m actually pretty sure he will) that Kevin can get some cojones and kill off that already dying relationship he has. Not just so patrick and him can be together but so he can experience a new real love. Instead of being with someone just because it’s been a couple of years and he’s just used to it. They’re sneaky love making wasn’t the most romantic thing but it wasn’t rape I think it was definitely a moment too soon. One that should have taken place when they were both without strings attached to other people. And plus you don’t moan when you get raped or smile like an idiot like he was lol.
