Keir Starmer has flat out refused a multi-party debate. He refuses to debate the SNP and British broadcasters have responded with “Yeah, sure, no problem”
well done to everyone protesting against scotland vs israel tonight in glasgow - a country committing genocide should never be allowed in the world of sports, or any other competition
A developer is once more seeking permission to build an 18-hole golf course on a protected nature site – Coul Links, just outside Embo, on the east coast of Sutherland.
In the middle of a climate emergancy, in a time of strife and hardship - people are planning to strip away even more of Scotlands beauty and nature for the gains of the rich to play around for a few hours.
Also Fuck Golf Courses
Now that the anger has calmed down, the desperation and sadness is creeping in. Imagine being so despised as a group of people that a simple law meant to make your life easier gets people so angry that an entire nation might break up over it. That's how hated we are. The English government would rather risk losing Scotland than allowing us our deserved rights. I feel like screaming and I'm sure you do too
But there is a good side to this. Look at how many people, not just in Scotland but all over the world, stand in solidarity with us. Look how many scots are ready to abandon the UK, partly for us. Look at how angry people are over this, not at us but for us
I don't think I've ever felt this desperate and hopeful at the same time
Hi, @prideknights can you spread this around, as we know the Holidays, this time of year, in general, can be challenging for queer people so some good news might lift some spirits. Its a historical moment in Scotland and we can only hope the rest of the UK follow their lead.
quick note for all my non scottish followers: you will likely see uk media referring to the GRA reforms that just got passed in holyrood as 'controversial', that is an incorrect statement. the GRA reforms had a majority support from all but one major party (i'll let you guess which one) and won the vote with a substantial majority. Scotland is in absolutely no way perfect and neither is our politics, but trans rights are not controversial here amongst anyone who's not a vitriolic transmisogynist.
this is a consultation form by the scottish government about banning conversion therapy in scotland. they need responses; i highly recommend filling out this form if you are a scottish citizen and care about ending conversion practices within the country.
(image text in alt)
!! THIS CONSULTATION CLOSES ON TUESDAY 2ND OF APRIL, IN THREE DAYS !!
i hate to ask, but please reblog this post. i cannot confirm anything, but i have heard rumours of members of the far-right taking the form and campaigning for conversion therapy to stay in place.
while this form is not intended for non-scottish citizens, it does not ask for any confirmation that you live in scotland. non-scots, do with that information what you will.
The fact that the UK Parliament has decided to pick a fight with the country that's motto is LITERALLY "don't fuck with me."
Okay, technically it's "Nemo me impune lacessit" - No man provokes me with impunity - but there's a damn good reason that it's usually just rendered WHO DUAR MEDDLE WIT' ME?!
We are exiting the FA state. We are entering the FO stage.
