do you have plans for any future games after gilded shadows?
Hello! I have been working on a side project for over a year - which will be the next project to go public after Gilded Shadows finishes later this year.
I actually have a huge list of projects in Plottr, all of which are in some stage of planning.
However, the project I will be focusing on after Gilded Shadows is called When Stars Collide. It's another science fiction project, but is quite different to GS since it's more of a space opera that takes place largely on a star ship and the MC becomes a member of the crew.
I work on this project exclusively late at night (usually after 10PM, being the night owl that I am) and weekends. So even though I've been working on it for over a year, it's not really that far along. I've done some sprites, some UI work, and have written a fair amount of it. But the writing is definitely less than half complete for sure at this point.
Here are a few screen caps from some coded content that I put in the game to test out sprite stuff.
So yes - I do have plans for future games. Multiple. But When Stars Collide is, at this point, the one I'll be focusing on after I get Gilded Shadows complete.
I am still months out from finishing Gilded Shadows as I still have to finish Reuben's route and, of course, Yuu's route. So until then WSC will remain my "after hours" project that gets worked on a couple of times a week at weird hours!
After WSC, I want to get back into writing some fantasy content though! I have a couple of cool fantasy ideas I'm really looking forward to working on!
Hey are you from Poland and tired of listening to audio dramas in english? Perheaps you are a fan of shows like the Magnus Archives and such, and might also be a little concerned about the climate change. Well then maybe you want to check this project out. It isn't long and you might find yourself actually enjoying it :)
🌞
School has been a bit nuts lately but things should be winding down so I should hopefully have the current story arc finished up soon-ish. In the meantime, have a quick sketch of a teaser from a side project involving Nurse Redheart that I hope to start soon...
Day 1 of 100 days of productivity. Went to a local cafe, worked on the data cleaning for my side project in RStudio, got an iced coffee and poppyseed cake slice. Sent some emails, polished an old blog article and posted it. 7/10 productive vibes today.
I’m going to do it as a side project since I have my main au with Jeff the killer files. Also my au and the Jeff in wonderland au are not related in any way so my headcannon designs will be different from the Wonderland au’s designs. I want them to look more like the original creepypasta’s in this au. The only thing the same is that Rex is still Jeff’s dog. I will post when the chaps come out just like in Jeff the killer files.

There was a throwaway line in I think Magnus’ route about Yuu being and flirt and I still think about it. The grumpy but caring love interest has always been my favorite trope (which is why Caleb is my favorite route so far), so I can’t wait to see what you do for his route.
Anyway, I really love Gilded Shadows! I especially love the fact that you took the time to give each love interest there own unique story instead of them all being the same with a few scenes here or there. Not many VN creators do the same, so I really appreciate it when others do.
Honestly, writing individual routes is way easier for me (and faster!) Haha. I can understand why people expect it to be more work - because it's definitely more words. But...
I decided I wanted to try to write a game with an overlapping story (something similar in structure to WtNC or Ebon Light or something). I just wanted to see what it was like to use that structure since I've never done it before.
And I like experimenting with new things.
So that's how I've structured my side project. And I have to say that it's WAY HARDER. I have so much more stuff to think about it and so many more variables to track. It's harder to write romances when they all have to develop at the same pace. And writing the same scene 5 times is so tedious, oh my gosh.
That will be the only project I write that way for sure because it's hard. One thing it has taught me is that....
It's just easier for me to write distinct routes and that will always be my preference. 😂😂 Experimenting is great but sometimes you do learn that certain things are really not for you. And writing overlapping routes within a single plot is not for me. (But I have so much respect for creators who write that way all the time and do it an engaging way because it's way harder than I thought it would be.)
So you will all get one game from me where the LIs don't have unique routes. And then never again.😱😱
