English localization for the 2002 technical demo

The 2002 techdemo was shared on VK awhile ago, and I've found this version of the game to provide an interesting insight into what might've been the very early version of the plot and worldbuilding of Pathologic. All the text in the demo was famously entirely garbled; it is fixed and translated in this version.

The patched techdemo is available here. More technical information about the patch itself and the included /patch folder is available on the project page here.

If you've never played it before, the demo is extremely simple: you can run around the early, lowest-poly-we've-ever-seen, version of the Town (which was actually a city in 2002); talk to the strange man walking around; or locate the cottage on the edge of the city and have a meaningful conversation with one Maria Kaina, who seems to know you but isn't necessarily your friend.

ESP32-S3 Mini TV demo for Star Trek Day 🖖📺🔊

This Mini TV demo

by moononournation is perfectly themed for Star Trek day, playing the TOS and STNG intros at 480x480 12fps MJpeg and 22KHz I2S MP3 audio. We'll try Cinepak next, but this was an easy first start, and it looks and sounds great. There's a little tearing effect due to the low frame rate and the display being single, not double-buffered, but considering this is a $4 microcontroller module running Arduino, it's very impressive! This may be the first time we've seen reasonable size-and-quality video+audio playback! This was our last 'test' for the ESP32-S3 TFT Experimenter board. All functionality has been tested, and it's ready to go out for manufacture - only one blue-wire fix is needed to change the default I2C address of the GPIO expander :)

how high is the probability of other vocaloids being added to the game?

i have answered this but tumblr search is busted and i can't find it so i'll just do it again.

incredibly low. pjsekai exists as a techdemo for crypton's NT voicebanks, which is the main reason it's just the crypton 6. and the fact it's a project diva successor.

also just from a finance POV it's difficult. SEGA has the licence to use Miku and the other 5 cryptonloids, they don't have the rights for GUMI, IA, flower, gakupo, etc. Those companies would have to be brought on to help manage their characters, and it's a lot of money to licence them, even if their fan favorites that people want added. it's significantly more complicated and expensive than getting a song for the game.

Plug and play ANO encoder to seven segment 🖐️ 🔄🔢💻🛍️📸📊🎛️📱🔌

We'll be stocking this ANO rotary encoder breakout in the shop soon, it lets one quickly connect and read the buttons and encoder on an 'ipod classic' over I2C. we like to make a good visible demo that is shown on a product page that really gives folks a good idea of how the product works, so here we've got it hooked up to an I2C 7-segment backpack (https://www.adafruit.com/product/878) with a touch of Arduino code to display the counter ticks from the encoder moving back and forth, and some text for when each of the 5 buttons is pressed.
