Archivist!Sasha AU

Sasha James is a fully fledged Avatar of the Beholding, roaming the apocalips with her murdetous plus one Tim Stoker.

So that is the basic concept, right? Like end game couple TimSasha. But that is season 5 and we have to get there somehow, so here will I present my character ARCs

S1 Everything is relatively the same. The statement givers show up, Melanie is having a great time with Sasha, Martin start living in the archives and during the Prentiss attack Jon gets replaced by the Not!Them

S2 Things get sketchy. Like things are properly fucked up but it's sort of fine. They can feel that something is out of place but can't quite put their fingers on it. Not!Jon is messing with the statements and research materials given his libary background. Michael gives more help with figuring out stuff just because he actually likes Sasha. Helen gets abducted. Melanie questions on why did Jon got replaced by a whashed up white boy. Leitner gets murdered by Elias using some eye magic. Sasha is not on the run.

S3 Sasha is not wanted for murder so they have more time and more options. Sasha is not a paranoid mess so she and Tim put together what the heck is going on. They question Elias about Not!Jon and he confirms. After hearing this Martin basically skyrockets into the lonely. They start to prepare for the Unknowing and because Tim is there it's more smooth. Melanie somehow gets to the Institute. Basira leaves the police. Sasha realizes that the only way to get back at Elias and move him from his position is to do private investigations. Sahsa with Tim's and Melanie's help goes on the S3 interview of the monsters part. This get's her kidnapped by the Circus of The Other. Michael saves her and he does NOT turn into Helen or tries to kill Sasha. The America bit is the exact same. They find the bombs and make a similar try to stop the Unkowing as to the tape. They now have sectioned police help and a somewhat Lonely avatar on their side to take shit down. They succeed but Tim gets a heavy burning. Martin dies and Daisy gets into the coffin. Melanie calls the cops on Elias and gets him out of place.

S4 Sasha gets into the coma and turns into a full Avatar. Oliver Banks becomes the helping Avatar of the End. She goes back to work where everything is in chaos. Tim got marked by the Desolation during the Unknowing destruction. Sasha is a more accepting avatar and she gets experimenting real fast. She basically on week one helps Melanie to leave the institute for good. She gets Daisy out and puts her in the care of Basira. With Oliver's help them and Tim take out Peter Lucas. Anabelle shows up and offers a way to turn back Tim from his self destructive Desolation ways. The two of them together go to the place in Scotland where Gertrude set up the bounding ritual. There waits a statement for Sasha. The apocalyps start.

S5 TimSahsa go full kill bill on their way to get down Jonah Magnus. Like no mercy on anybody other than the kids from the Dark whom they adopt as an army against the other creatures that are also archivists.

This was a really long way of me putting down how emotional it would be if S5 JonMartin would stumble upon S5 TimSahsa and the two achivists would know but also wouldn't know each other because of the Not!Them.

(SPOILERS) SASHA JAMES AND TIM STOKER SURVIVE AU

TMA SPOILERS !!! . . .

Imagine if the Not Them creature never actually killed any of it's victims, and they simply became part of the Stranger instead.

This could mean that Sasha (and Graham too, actually) would have been potantially able to survive the attack. Hypothetically, if the Not Them had managed to be killed/destroyed/defeated earlier than in Season 5, then its victims could have been released. Or perhaps they would have been released when the Stranger's ritual led by Nikola was disrupted by the Institue gang?

But going with the idea that Sasha never actually died, and the Not Them was destroyed/defeated far easlier than Season 5, Sasha could escape and recover. She would obviously have been heavily Touched by the Stranger, so its debatable on how much of Sasha would actually be left. Would the Not Them have stolen her identity and memories all together and she was left to be some sort of Jane Doe? Or does she have her memories and know who she is, but simply has a gap in her memory from when she was captured? Or is it some weird combonation of the two?

If Sasha was there during the Stranger's ritual, would she have changed the outcome? Would she have been able to take on Nikola and easily navigate through their strangely distorted circus of horrors? Would Tim still be alive?

On the subject of Tim Stoker, what if he had survived the explosion after the ritual? After all of that discruction and fire, he obviously would be Touched by the Desolation (or at least, I think so). @ian0key has a phonominal and well-thought out TimSasha lives AU with gorgously intruiging art and designs. PLEASE GO CHECK IT OUT!!! (I took some inspiration from your AU I hope you don't mind I just love it and these characters sm ghfjskg)

one of my fave jontimsasha headcanons is the fact that... jon and sasha are very obviously night owls, whereas tim is an early bird. Listen, we know jon can spend hours doing his thing but im a firm believer that sasha would be the same if she didnt Actively Try to at least have a regular sleep schedule, which sometimes... fails

at some point tim wakes up to see the living room’s light on and no sign of jon w/ them and tells sasha (who cant..... sleep....) to pls go say smth to him, its 3 am sasha, he listens to you, but it backfires when forty minutes later he gets up to go to the bathroom and sees them both crisscrossing references between cases, each w/ a mug of coffee that jon made at some point

now on the other hand? tim likes to wake up early, carpe diem and all, and hes an athletic guy, but he is that guy who wakes up at 5:30 am to go jogging while its still dark outside. He sets the alarm EveryDay, at 5:30 am, imagine

im feeling rly tired n i got an exam tmr so i wont be drawing more today bUT i can expand on the um bfu au a bit more to explain their characters a bit more

like season 1 and 2 of bfu both true crime and supernatural is like:

jon + gerry are basically dating but at the same time they assume the other does not feel the same way even tho they live together since jon finished uni and they share each others clothes n shit and go everywhere together

jon + martin are very complicated. here we don't have like the um boss/subordinate dynamic, theyre mere coworkers so martin is less nervous abt jon HOWEVER jon gets very moody around martin since he's in gerry's place (gerry is away because of family issues and also he later on gets another job so he doesnt come back fully, only makes cameos here n there).

since jon is just a petty lil asshole around martin at the start their convos are sometimes a bit stilted and tense, before this show started jon was neutral/nice to martin, his problem is that he's not gerry.

once martin gets fed up with jon's bullshit however, jon is guilty and just as he gathers the nerve to apologize gerry calls him like "YOU IDIOT!!! JUST SAY SORRY TO THE POOR GUY, WHAT HAS HE DONE TO YOU!!" which in hindsight is hilarious, it's almost like gerry read jon's mind but in the moment jon got very defensive and admitted that he missed gerry a lot. very emotional moment between two ppl who are weird with emotions so things get awkward.

funnily, its martin who helps jon out with his feelings, a martin that, very much like canon, has a crush on jon. he's still mad at jon and now he's a lil heartbroken because its obvious jon likes gerry so he assumes he has 0 chances here but he's an adult and he gets past that and he helps jon n gerry with their relationship.

season 3 of bfu:

jon + gerry are datingggggg (finally ffs), gerry gets a new job doing tattoos but on days he doesn't have appointments he's the one behind the camera when the boys are filming, on other days its sasha and tim.

jon + martin are exploring their new found friendship and it grows fast like wildfire. they have great chemistry, their banter is lovely, their funny, and more importantly theyre only jokingly mean to each other. jon is very much a suffering believer while martin does believe in the supernatural he just doesnt believe that these supernatural creatures would leave so much evidence behind and highly doubts any footage or sounds. this is also a way to lessen his fear of these monsters but jon doesn't need to know that

martin is still crushing. hard. jon is very happy in his relationship that he doesn't see his feelings for martin blooming, even tho there are (at this point) several compilations on yt titled "jon looking at martin with heart eyes for 10 minutes bisexual part 5", or along those lines. timsasha tease them constantly, sometimes they make the cut, others don't. on those bloopers videos it's more obvious and the teasing is non stop

martin is begging them to stop because he doesnt want jon to feel uncomfy or anything, while jon finds them very amusing, since he's so secure with gerry theres just No Way that he has feelings for martin, even if his heart fucking somersaults and the thought.

season 4 and 5 of bfu:

jongerry going strong, gerry has evolved to teasing as well and does more cameos here n there just because, he's also behind the camera more n more after the positive response from fans. gerry more easily sees his feelings for martin than jon and purposefully abuses this, voicing out his musings to jon just to watch him blush and fluster (gerry's fav part time hobby let me tell ya)

jonmartin are in the same situation that jongerry were in season 1. basically married already but assume there's no feelings evolved. martin fully on has accepted the unrequited love situation he believes is going on, jon is still in denial despite gerry's help on the matter, timsasha are becoming desperate, hell, the fans as well. it's critical at this point, somebody PLEASE shake them hard, they need to see it.

season 6 and onwards of bfu:

jongerry still going strong folks, gerry is way more direct to jon abt his feelings for martin and they (youre not gonna believe this-) talk about it. jon feels very stupid and after watching those compilations is also a lil embarassed but then he finds martin's versions and just gets flustered because "holy shit, its.... mutual?? maybe??" and gerry just facepalms and says "yes jon its mutual now go kiss. or talk. maybe talk first then kiss, yh"

jonmartin (again this is very shocking i know) talk (WOW OMG) and both realize their feelings (very awkwardly let me tell you but martin was a brave lil boy abt it n they got somewhere), they very much did kiss (wrow) and it was very sweet and all before the start of season 6.

so basically season 6 comes and they dont mention it to the fans, timsasha knew immediately and sigh in relief so now they turn to their new victim: gerrymartin, who everybody assumes is one sided, gerry as well.

gerry is a very bad influence so now its jon who teases martin and talks abt gerry very romantically just to watch martin blush. however it takes wayyy less time for martin to come around because. come on now. gerry's hot n shit n also very nice n weird and a nerd, he's like a taller, goth jon whos a lil less awkward and a bit more confident, u think martin wouldnt fall for this man as well?

anyways at this point, martin is at his what i like to call "lil shit phase but like it's obvious this time", so instead of confessing like a normal person, he teases gerry off and on show. it takes gerry off guard at first cuz "???? is martin flirting with me???? is he just being a bitch???..... i love it" but then he hits martin back equally, so jon is ever suffering between these two when they're in the same room, which is a lot since jongerry live together and jonmartin are dating. timsasha are finding this all very hilarious, so are the fans

season 7 bfu:

jonmartin get togetherrrrrrr, yes bitch. jgm polycule lets go!!! in on of those postmortem vids they casually mention this along with jonmartin n shit (they talk abt martin moving in with jongerry) and the viewers LOSE THEIR SHIT. they trend on twitter n everything. is all very funny. n they're very happy together. at this point a lot of the bloopers is just them being cute n gross n also arguing like an old married couple which they then have to cut or the vids would be like 1 hour long

n thats it. im gonna take a bath now. n then do a covid test!! n hopefully its negative!!! im nervous!!!

He shifts in his seat, sits up straighter, clears his throat and looks out at the lot of them and begins. "Statement of Martin Blackwood," he says, "regarding the Magnus Institute, and everything that happened there." He takes a breath, hears the familiar words in their familiar cadence rattle through his mind: the Archivist is taking a statement. He says, "Statement begins."

Or: In 1985, after the disappearance of Gertrude Robinson from the reclusive grounds of the Magnus Institute, Jonathan Sims is brought in as a replacement. As he adjusts to the new job, and begins to bond with his new coworkers, the strange happenings on the grounds that the Magnus Institute sits on become harder to ignore.

Years later, Martin Blackwood makes a statement.

Martin gets a closer look at the calendar, and his breath catches in his throat. He's gotten a look at the year, and it's wrong, it's all wrong. 2018. October, 2018. Right there, in Martin's own handwriting, on a Saturday, he's written things on little dates that Martin can't read, because he can't take his eyes off the year. 2018. 2018. They look differently. They have scars they don't recognize. Their hair is longer. 2018.

Martin seizes the calendar off the fridge and goes back into the living room. Jon's still at the coffee table, poking through the tapes piled there, but he looks up when Martin comes back in and says, "Martin, where…" with a familiar bite in his voice.

Martin ignores him, stops him mid-sentence to say, "Jon, what have you heard about time travel?"

Martin and Jon wake up two years in the future. It goes about as well as can be expected.

Jon and Martin go out one day, on a trip to the eldritch horror-trap grocery store, and show back up in the tunnels after a few long hours, longer than any of the trips to the store that Georgie has been on. Martin has a bag of horrible spooky food, and Jon has a bag shut at the top that is wriggling suspiciously in his arms. "Oh, great," says Melanie, when Georgie fills her in. "What monstrous thing has he brought home now?" Georgie would giggle if the situation wasn't at least a little potentially dangerous, Jon could have anything in there, really.

Martin forces his eyes open to look at Jon, bruise blossoming at the top of his forehead, eyes red and wet. "Wh-what's gone?" he asks softly, almost afraid of the answer.

"It. All of it, or at least some of it, I don't know… I can't feel it anymore. The statements, the Beholding, it's—it's…" Jon breaks off mid-sentence, shaking his head. He leans forward so their foreheads are together, and Martin can feel him trembling all over. He says, voice low and thick with fear, "I'm… not sure I'm the Archivist anymore."

The initial confrontation with Jonah Magnus goes badly, and Martin wakes up outside the Panopticon to find Jon missing. In the wake of this initial loss, something about Martin starts to change.

northern-bound trains

Martin rides with Jon to the train station. He insisted. Said he shouldn’t have to go there alone. “Nothing worse than leaving on a trip with no one to send you off,” he’d said. Jon had nodded, gratefully, and swallowed back the burning lump of what he wanted to say—Come with me, come to Scotland, I don’t want to leave you alone again. He kept hearing Martin’s words in his head: I really loved you. And he couldn’t ask Martin to do that, to leave his whole life and everything behind to become a fugitive, cower in Scotland and throw his whole life away. It’s too much. And Martin has already sacrificed so much for him.

He’ll be content with Martin seeing him off. That can be enough. That will be enough.

Jon falters, looks at the ground, one hand over his mouth. "You… you were both in the same place. In a… domain. D-Daisy was in one, too, a different one. I got her out. And I… I thought, afterwards, that maybe I could get the two of you back, too."

Martin finds the tape in the wall. Specifically, in a small hole in the drywall, tucked behind boxes and stuffed with so much crumpled paper and tissue that it's almost impossible to see anything else in there. tma small grocery store au

the archive crew are cashiers and elias is their shitty manager who is divorced from peter, the manager of a bass pro shop across the street

jon gets so many customer service complaints that elias has to take care of*

*by that I mean he somehow knows how to placate literally anybody with a few words bc somehow he knows exactly what they're looking for

timsasha setting up more and more ridiculous plots to force jon and martin to hang out together on the clock

once in a while peter comes in just to be passive aggressive about their sales and elias' managerial skills before buying a fishing rod and leaving

the avatars are the annoying customers

some of the regulars include jude & agnes, a weird goth kid who's the only one jon tolerates, simon and his gaggle of unruly adopted kids, and a really scary woman who walks in every month or so, makes some cryptic comment about hunting, buys a gun and a few knives, flirts with basira (a stocker), and then leaves

the cashiers have running theories on the lives of their regular customers which elias does not put a stop to

there's a clothing store next door ran by annabelle cane and every year in december the two stores have an extremely heated holiday decoration competition that elias gets wayyyy too into

elias barely manages them, he just comes in to be creepy and obnoxiously upbeat about new restrictive company policies, salary cuts, and potential firings before retreating to his office where he is not seen for several hours

elias is also weirdly paranoid about losing his job for slacking off and refers to upper management / corporate as The Eye

michael and helen also work at the grocery store but nobody sees them leave or come in, they're never seen together, and when asked they each claim they don't know who michael/helen is and there's only ever been one greeter position open

(melanie knows that michael and helen are siblings and are purposefully trying to fuck with everybody but chooses not to clarify anything to her coworkers)

This happens the day before the end of s3. Things were much calmer than in The canon. Everyone decided to go very early to rest after preparing everything.

I have an au called the Jon vapes au which appears to be incredibly similar to the canon except Jon vapes instead of smoking. However when I made it I realized it could change the entire canon bc Jon would either prevent leitner’s death by not leaving to smoke, or he would witness Elias killing him and have a target to hyper focus his suspicions on. Thots?

i’m not TOO sure how he could witness elias doing that because elias timed it so that he’d not be seen, i’d honestly go with the first one if it were me not just because it makes more sense but because jon straight up just sitting there vaping right in front of leitner is hysterical. just. ripping some fucking blue raspberry cotton directly into leitner’s sinus cavity.

okay. so. somebody told me to elaborate on this post i made here

and since im absolutely insane, that's exactly what i did.

so without further ado, here are all my current ideas for my shitpost tma highschool au.

Jonathan Sims- just your average, mundane and boring highschooler like literally every protagonist in this setting ever.

Martin Blackwood- generic best friend turned love interest character, thats literally all i’ve got for him. (aka jonmartin WILL be real in 5, 4,)

Timothy Stoker- also generic best friend, very laid back, probably a skater boy, also on the football team because jock archetype

Sasha James- She exists alright. (timsasha WILL be real in 5, 4).

Not!Sasha- just another student named Sasha who everyone confuses with the actual Sasha all the time

Elias Bouchard- generic highschool asshole because of course he is. owns a pet cat named Peter.

Melanie King- president of the ‘ghost club’. there are no ghosts, the club just fucks around after school for an hour.

Mike Crew- emo kid who is literally only ever seen on the rooftop or in the trees outside the school. how has he not been expelled yet.

Gerard Keay- also emo. literally just vibes wherever. probably listening to mcr.

Michael "Distortion" (Shelley is his *real* last name)- founder of a miniature cult. he also found a secret trapdoor in the school library and he now just drags his friends there every lunchtime to smoke mad amounts of weed. probably a frat boy.

Helen Richardson- Michael Distortion’s best friend. also smokes mad weed.

Jared Hopworth- homophobic football team captain

Jurgen Leitner- stupid fucking nerd who essentially lives in the library. nobody likes him.

Peter Lukas- Elias’ ex-boyfriend. semi-popular but he acts like he has literally no friends like a fucking loser. has a pet cat named Elias.

Simon Fairchild- terrible psychology professor but everyone thinks he’s cool since he’s essentially an old man frat boy. vibes on the rooftops with Mike a lot.

Alice “Daisy” Tonner- a jock/athlete girl who lives a secret second life as a furry.

Jane Prentiss- goth girl who is overly into biology. has been observed to eat bugs before.

Nikola Orsinov- sinister theater kid. thats it.

Oliver Banks- yet another emo. hangs with other emos in their natural habitat.

Agnes Montague- generic hot girl. badum tssh.
