ᴠᴀʟᴇɴᴛɪɴᴇ'ꜱ ᴅᴀʏ ᴠᴇxᴀᴛɪᴏɴꜱ - ꜰʟᴜꜰꜰ
𝐀/𝐍: Whew! Ok, I'm taking a small break right now- I have one more request to do, and ofc as soon as I can I'll finish it, but I don't want to burn myself out or anything.
I'm just taking a quick writing rehab right now. Nonetheless, the banter was so fun to do, and I hope you all like it!
If I do write another chapter for the week, it'll probably be for What A Dish, What A Doll!

. . .
The chill of February’s frosted breath graced the glass panes of the largest building in the Vee’s district, an imposing force that not-so-subtly hinted at how far their influence and power expanded across the Sinner’s Circle of Hell, as it stood right in the heart of the Pride Ring for all to flock to. No matter how depraved, sadistic, or perverted you were, the territory of the Vees surely had something in store for your insatiable appetite to feast upon.
And since the first twenty-four hours of the infamously romantic month, chaos had erupted within the offices of the Vees. Other than Halloween, it was the greatest vice of Vox’s hellish existence, filling his calendar to the brim with meetings, product improvement, managing holiday events and sales, and not to mention Velvet’s stupid “Love Potion” gimmick-
For Christ’s sake, the goddamn holiday started with a ‘V’! Their brand of perfection practically relied on that lovey-dovey nonsense.
For the past week, the only thing filling up Vox’s schedule and keeping him from you was showcasing shitty rom coms with horribly conceived plots, Velvet rushing around like a mini-hurricane and destroying everything in her wake for her latest fashion show, and Valentino?
Oh, don’t even get Vox fucking started.
And now, after all of that overwhelming bullshit that kept him from warming your bed for the past few days, Vox desperately wanted – no, needed to escape and spend quality time with his darling. With you.
He had the usual Valentine’s Day blueprint in mind: eat ice cream and binge-watch your favorite TV-shows, while you flustered the hell out of him with your affections and make hot chocolate, and then fall asleep in each other’s arms by the fire.
Mundane, cheesy shit like that was the highlight of his days after another exhausting workday keeping it all roped together and navigating Velvet and Valentino's nonsense.
Their facade was of modern sophistication, perfection at its very finest that was produced for only those who could afford it, and it was all piled into Vox’s lap to regulate the chaotic, unpredictable behavior of his fellow Overlords, and keep their volatile nature in check.
But the continuous hardship that came with his stressful job would fade with the wintry wind as soon as he stepped off the elevator and into your shared penthouse, and like a patch of sunlight to snow, you’d melt away all his worries with a smile and a rub of his head as you took care of him for the night.
Almost there...
The television demon groaned as he crossed the threshold over to your apartments, seeing no need to keep up his perfectly aligned posture.
And, like a mercy served by Gods, Vox was met with the heavenly sight of you standing in your fluffy, midnight blue bathrobe that you’d received on your birthday, courtesy of Val. Vox would’ve personally burned it to high hell, but you adored the design, and he couldn’t resist you when you pleaded with him.
“Vox...” crossing your arms at the doorway, his light, his spark, his reason to maintain everything about his own reputation stood with a stern furrow in your brow as you strode over to him.
“Don’t tell me you’ve been overworking yourself again, love,” you grumbled as you took off his bowtie and removed his coat, and you smoothed out the front of his striped vest as Vox stumbled for an answer.
“I-” *sigh* “I’m not pushing myself that much. You know how the job is, especially around this time,” seeing your face fall and your lips tighten into a straight line, Vox took your hand, squeezing it within his gloved palms as his sharp teeth pulled into a small half-smile.
“But coming home to you makes it all worth it,” a tender hand dancing with waves of tingling sparks cupped your cheek, and with a heavy sigh, you looked to him with concern and affection swirling within your tender gaze.
“Yeah, yeah. All I’m saying is those two bumbling excuses of Overlords should at least give you a couple of days off,” you scowled softly, but your frown melted into a flustered pout as Vox kissed it away, and a soft buzz of electricity lingered against your lips.
“Now, now, enough of that, my dear. We still have the whole night to ourselves, don’t we?” You giggled, a long-awaited melody to his ears as Vox spun you around to press your back against his chest. How beautifully the sound replaced Velvet's usual grating, shrill voice that penetrated his ears. How agreeable you were, that you didn't fight him like Valentino, that you truly cared about him and his well-being.
Sometimes, you'd even force his workaholic ass to return to your apartment and get him ready for bed, practically hauling your grumbling, overworked hubby into bed, and forcing him to sleep in the next morning.
And it was the sappy, lovesick moments like these always reminded Vox that he'd never find anyone else like you.
All the more reason to keep you tightly within his grasp...
“Yeah, I guess, so. You dork,” you flicked the very center of your husband’s face, and he blinked a few times in surprise before chuckling and shaking his head.
“Oh, yeah? And what does that make you for loving me~?” Vox swayed against you gently, his inner fans suddenly warming himself up more than usual as he poorly attempted to conceal his light blush at having you so close.
Your laughter chimed through the air like the first sunbeams breaking through stormy gray clouds upon the aftermath of a thunderstorm.
“Well, I suppose that makes me your lover,” you simpered right back at him, turning your head slightly so you could stand on your tiptoes and kiss him.
It felt almost like a dream when you were in Vox’s arms like this. Simply existing with each other, standing above the Pride Ring as if you ruled the entire Sinner’s Circle. Untouchable, ambitious, and madly in love.
As if on cue, the sound of a gentle, reflective saxophone poured from the speakers installed within the penthouse as the lights dimmed, and you felt yourself drifting away as you swayed with your husband.
The soft buzz of electricity bounced against your figure as Vox stared down at you, his dead, automated heart pounding erratically as his hands slid from yours down to your waist, digging into the fabric of your robe with sharpened claws.
“Vox...?”
“Yes, my dear?”
With a deep breath, you lilted your voice as you spoke to him, in hopes that seeming more placating and docile could shake Vox’s stance upon his insistence to work himself to the bone. No more would you allow yourself to stand hopelessly to the side while you watched your husband work himself into such a distressed, sleep-deprived state.
“I’m putting my foot down. You’re not going back to that horrible place for the next week, at least.” Vox stiffened at your tone of finality.
“Excuse me?” He chuckled as if you were joking with him, but your resolute glare told him otherwise. “Check your phone.”
With a hesitant glance towards his pocket, Vox slowly pulled out his phone, only to find that, in fact, every work-related app had been temporarily blocked from the device.
Raising an eyebrow, he looked back at you and tapped your nose with a haughty smirk. “Nice try, but it’s going to take more than that for me to fall for your wiles, my dear,”
When you only grinned up at him with no hint of malice nor any trace of exasperation tugging at your usual, beautiful smile, his triumphant grin fell. “Why are you looking at me like that? What...”
A slow realization turned in Vox's mind as he recollected the last few days, when you were poking and prodding at him and his programming for “no apparent reason,” and he wrote it off as curiosity born from your boredom while being locked up at the penthouse apartment.
But by fuck, he was really regretting indulging you right now, for once.
With a surge of panic, Vox immediately blue-screened, as he mentally checked for any of his work-related tabs and files, only to find them completely, and suspiciously empty.
No notes. No texts. No documents.
Nothing.
You... You fucking hacked into his mainframe!?
His interface returned to normal to find you slumped against him, only perking up when you saw your husband had returned from his frenzied search of the crime that had been committed; the heinous act of keeping Vox from working.
And here the culprit was standing, swooning and relaxing in his hold, nuzzling against him as if she wasn’t to blame for his entire workspace vanishing off the face of the Earth for the next seven days.
“Well...?”
“...How long have you been planning this?” Vox was absolutely aghast. He knew you could be impulsive, perhaps even irrational, compared to your cool, collected husband, but this was...
You grinned triumphantly as you tapped his nose right back.
“I just thought you could use a few days off, spending some time in your wife's company for Valentine's Day~..."
“But when did you- No, how the hell-?”
“It seems that you’ve fallen victim to my wiles yet again,”
“Oho, you sneaky little-!” Vox practically tackled you into a hug as he discharged a small bout of electricity, tickling you with an electrifying warmth, just by holding you against him.
“C’mon, I’ve got another surprise for you,” with a soft giggle and a gentle tug of his antenna, you pulled Vox from the floor as his free hand shot up to his hat with a small, bashful frown.
“I told you to stop that!” He outwardly groaned, but you could hear the flustered electrical buzz that Vox emitted whenever you did something to him that he really liked.
“You know I don’t like it,” he muttered, but as always, you saw right through him.
“And we both know that’s one of the biggest lies you’ve ever told me,” you grinned back at him cheekily as you pulled him into the living area, where you had spent most of your afternoon setting up when Vox was occupied with his work.
In the living room, you had set up a small, cozy gaming area. It then hit Vox just how long you had been setting this up, waiting for him to drop his guard and into your scheming hands.
That little criminal...
Two controllers, one for you, and one for Vox, sat upon a pile of fluffy blankets. A few pillows draped in silk cloth surrounded the area on the couch, and before it upon the coffee table, there sat a freshly made bowl of popcorn, and various other chocolate candies and snacks.
“Hm... Seems like someone’s been itching for a rematch.” A challenge glinted in his sensors, and you leaned into him with an equally blazing ire.
"You wanna bet...?"
. . .
“GODDAMN FUCKING BLUE SHELL! I’LL DESTROY YOU, YOU SPIKED SON OF A BITCH!”
“HA-HA! GUESS WHO’S IN THE LEAD, NOW!?”
Your fingers pressed the controller furiously as the TV blared in front of you, and as you crossed the finish line, you let out a whoop of victory, nearly falling out of Vox’s lap in your bout of triumph.
“Yes!” “No!! Fuck!”
You and Vox shouted simultaneously, making you burst into a fit of triumphant laughter as he groaned and slumped defeatedly behind you.
“Are you serious!? That’s the fifth time in a row!” Vox nearly crushed his controller in his vice grip as he threw a slew of curses at the TV.
The two of you had been playing Mario Kart for the past hour, blissfully unaware of how your gaming match had whisked the both of you into a heated competition of bumper cars and tallying points for each round someone won, and the winner would be picking the movie you watched.
You stuck your tongue out at him with a victorious beam. “It seems the Nintendo wants us to watch the Kissing Booth tonight,” you giggled madly when Vox’s face scrunched up in disgust.
“Yeah, babe, there is no way I’m watching that.”
“Aw, come on, I won fair and square!" you leaned into your husband, who sighed with exasperation but softened at the sight of your pout.
“Please...? I promise we’ll watch whatever you want tomorrow!”
“It’s my first day off the job, and you want to watch the goddamn Kissing Booth!?”
"Pretty please, Sparks?" Vox’s aura buzzed softly at the nickname, and he narrowed his eyes down at you as you begged him with your puppy eyes.
“Playing dirty, huh? Fine. Let’s watch your dumbass movie,” Vox pouted with crossed arms as he slumped into the couch in defeat and his antenna buzzed softly in annoyance. It sparked abruptly when you clapped excitedly and pulled him by his collar to lay a tender kiss on his cheek.
“Thank you! I promise, you’ll love it,” you grinned mischievously and grabbed the remote.
Vox, in fact, did not love it. In fact, it was so bad that you both started watching it ironically and threw jabs at it occasionally.
“So, who do you think she should pick? Her psycho-controlling best friend, or the pretty boy with anger issues~,” You leaned your head against his shoulder as you shoveled a handful of popcorn into your mouth, your eyes glued to the screen.
Vox sighed and rubbed his forehead, equally as invested as you were despite your shared frustration with the film.
“Honestly? She should dump both of them and run for the goddamn hills.”
You snorted. “Yeah? Well, I would’ve chosen her boyfriend. He gets better over the next couple of movies.” Vox raised an eyebrow at you. “Seriously?”
Popping a few M&Ms into your mouth, you nodded at him. “Yeah, I’m serious! He gets some serious character development,” you mutter sarcastically, before licking your lips with a shit-eating grin. “He seems really cold and angry on the outside, but he’s not so bad once you get to know him.”
Nudging his shoulder, you glance not-so-subtly up at him, and Vox took the hint, tickling your sides softly with a smirk.
“And I’m a dork?”
“Yeah, and you’re a contagious one, too!” Your hands grabbed at his arms as he crushed you into a hug, pulling you even closer as he rested his head upon yours.
“Well, then I guess that makes two of us, doesn’t it my dear~?”
“No! Stop! Please, I can't breathe!” You attempted to flail around dramatically, but within Vox's vice grip, that was next to impossible.
“Ah-ah-ah! I’m afraid you’re trapped within my wiles, darling!”
“Curse you! How dare you use my own spells against me!” You giggled as he continued his bombardment of tickles and small, feathered kissing against your nape and the small back of your neck.
Soon, your laughter died down and you both fell silent as you finished the rest of the movie.
While you slowly began to drift off into sleep in Vox's arms, spent from the day of preparing your apartment for your husband's arrival, he looked down at you with a tender half-smile.
I can't believe someone like you would even look at someone like me...
"Hey, babe-?" He whispered out into the dark, before huffing out a chuckle when he realized you were still asleep.
With a soft smile, and a tender patter of his heart, Vox scooped you up and whisked you away to your bedroom, where he silently dresses you up in a pair of pajamas, and tucked you into bed.
Ever so gently, Vox laid a few of the blankets over your form, dragging them and the silk pillows back from the couch to make his little sleeping beauty ever the more comfortable.
He looked upon you as you dozed the minutes away, blissfully oblivious to the war that raged inside of him.
While Vox was impressed that you had managed to somehow hack into his mainframe and alter his actual mental programming, it really would take more than basic understanding – plus, you pulled it off unguarded. Now, of course, this spawned a new problem for him, but he’d deal with it in due time. Besides, it’d give him a proper excuse to slack off a little bit, with you.
God, what was he thinking? The old Vox would’ve seen such a desire to goof around with some girl while the other two Vees went around wreaking havoc and partaking in whatever idiocy without Vox to keep them in check.
But you weren’t just ‘some girl’ to him.
And frankly, those two clowns could go fuck themselves.
A part of Vox wanted to remain in your bed, for your sake, but there was work to be done, and Velvet no doubt was positively livid at the fact that he wasn’t answering any of her calls.
So, with a newfound confidence in his advances, your husband bent over you, softly pinching your chin within his finely sharpened claws, and laying a few tender kisses trailing from your lips down to your nape.
I wish I could do this to you when you’re awake... But that smile, fuck, I can’t even form sentences without fumbling when you look at me like all you want is to give me the world.
You groaned and turned over within the sheets, scooching towards him with a soft furrow in your brow.
Vox kissed it away, before reluctantly pulling away from your side, standing at the door with a small, yearning smile.
“Til morning, my dear.”

𝐄𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬: Happy Valentine's Day from our favorite crazy-ass TV demon!
I'm sorry I didn't get to post this yesterday, but I was feeling so unmotivated by the end of it, and I decided to rewrite most of this fluff fic, just to give you all a quality post.
I don't half-ass things, especially when it comes to writing, that's just why my fics take a while to post.
Anyways, thank you so much for reading, and comments are always appreciated!

Hi Free! I know I haven't been very active, but I saw your tag and thought I'd pop by and drop a Valentine's Day request 👉👈
Maybe a fluffy date night in with Echo? I'm not big on being out in the world on Valentine's, but I love any excuse to be sweet with my partner and spoil them.
For vibe, just some soft romance (I'll leave it to the muses if things get spicy)
I have no gender preference. I usually read GN or Fem because there's so much of it.
Heck yes. This felt so perfect. 🥹 Hope it's right up your alley! ❤️ Dividers by @stars-n-spice on this post here.

The soft glow of city lights filtered through the windows of your Coruscant apartment as you prepared for a cozy evening in with Echo. The air was filled with the comforting aroma of takeout food, and you couldn't help but smile as you set the table for dinner. Echo's presence always brought a sense of warmth and familiarity, and you were looking forward to spending Valentine's Day together. You were so glad that he had agreed to your idea of keeping it simple. No cooking, no preparations, no gifts, just the pure enjoyment of comfortable time together and some of your favorite food. When your doorbell rang, your heart skipped a beat as you straightened your shirt before answering.
"Hey there," you greeted him, your voice filled with warmth as you didn’t bother hiding your excitement. He wrapped you in a warm hug, smiling and brushing his fingers against your cheek for a moment before releasing you and following you into your apartment. "I hope you're hungry,” you continued. “I ordered our favorite takeout."
“Ehhhhxcellent,” he nodded, shuffling out of his jacket to reveal the most comfortable outfit you’d yet seen him wear -- worn jeans and a soft, long-sleeved henley.
“Oh dannnng,” you poked, tracing a hand down the front of his shirt. “Look at you.”
“Stop it.” The blush across his cheeks made your heart swell in your chest, and you smiled playfully, beckoning him to make a plate and join you on the couch.
“Want to watch the sequel to that cheesy crap we saw last time?”
“Absolutely I do.”
Together, you and Echo settled onto the couch, plates of steaming food in hand as you started up a holofilm. The soft glow of the screen illuminated the room as you lost yourselves in the sappy romance, sharing laughs and stolen glances as the story unfolded. Little waggles of the eyebrows and snide remarks made it so much better, and as you finished your food and slowly entwined more and more with each other on the plush sofa, you couldn't imagine a more perfect evening.
"Do you actually remember the details of the first one?” Echo chuckled, gesturing toward the screen.
You grinned, a fond twinkle in your eyes. "How could I forget? You spent the entire time trying to predict the plot twists, and you were wrong every single time."
Echo's guffaw surprised you, the sound filling you with warmth. "Hey, I may not have gotten everything right, but I was close," he protested, a playful glint in his eyes.
"Close only counts in blaster shots and thermal detonators, love," you teased, nudging him gently with your elbow.
He chuckled, leaning back further into the couch cushions. "Fair point," he conceded, his voice filled with amusement. "But admit it, it made the whole thing far more entertaining."
You laughed, shaking your head at his antics. "Alright, yeah, it definitely did," you agreed, feeling a sense of warmth spreading at the easy banter between you.
Tumblr media
After dinner and the holofilm, you made some mugs of hot chocolate, cradling them in your hands as you snuggled beneath a cozy blanket in front of the crackling fire in the gas fireplace beneath your screen. The warmth of the flames danced across Echo's features, casting shadows across his sharp features and metal additions.
"This is nice," Echo murmured, his voice soft and filled with contentment.
You nodded in agreement, a smile tugging at your lips. "Yeah, it really is," you replied, your voice barely above a whisper.
“I think I’m a big part of what makes it so lovely,” he deadpanned, nodding somberly as you giggled in delight. You set your empty mug on the side table next to his, wrapping your arms around his waist and pulling him against you snugly.
“You’re ridiculous,” you murmured, filling your nostrils with his familiar, musky scent. “And absolutely correct.”
As the fire crackled and popped, you sat in comfortable silence, the only sound the gentle hum of the city outside. In that moment, surrounded by warmth and the soft glow of the fire, you felt an overwhelming sense of peace wash over you. The night wore on, minutes ticking by as you shared aimless conversation and simply enjoyed being together. Eventually, the two of you made your way out onto the balcony, the cool night air brushing against your skin as you watched the bustling city below. The streets were alive with activity, speeders zipping by in a blur of light and sound. It was just chilly enough for you to slip back inside, grabbing the large, soft blanket from your couch and throwing it around yourself before venturing back out onto the balcony.
“Oh, I’m fine, thanks for asking,” he quipped, but you dragged him against you and wrapped him up in the cozy cover as well, snuggling against his side as he snuck an arm across your shoulders.
“You are fine,” you whispered against the side of his face, pressing an affectionate kiss to his cheek before lowering your nose to nuzzle into the curve of his neck. He tilted his head a little, unwilling to reveal his ticklishness but unable to resist a little shiver at the sensation of your breath along his skin. His scomp stroked up and down the outside of your arm, and he reached across with his other hand to tip your chin back up to his face. The depth in his pale brown eyes pierced you to the core, and the softness that coexisted along with all that he’d been through felt like a special treasure for you and you alone.
“I’m really lucky to have you,” he confessed, a slight husk in his voice. You closed your eyes as he leaned in, kissing your forehead before pulling back to regard you again. His fingers traced along the edge of your jaw and came to rest in a gentle tuck behind your ear, thumb still brushing feather-light adoration across your cheek. Your gaze found his, two souls meeting in the quiet beauty of knowing and being known, and you pulled him ever closer, flattening yourself against his front as you kissed him deeply.

Okay Aevyn I can definitely write this type of fanfic of Hitoshi Shinsou💘💌😃👍So with the "cat cafe for Valentine's Day or coffee shop date", I think I might surprise you about that part since you have given me in idea on how to shake things up with sone fanfic ideas you have given me with your request Aevyn💌💘💡😁👍
Tumblr media
😺💜☕Shinsou's Big Valentine's Day Surprise For You☕💜😺((Adult) Hitoshi Shinsou x They/Them Reader)
Genres: Fluff (Those who enjoy Valentine's Day then the other genre is Valentine's Day fluff) (Warning ⚠️: The Possible Trigger Warning is the mentioning of Valentine's Day)
On Valentine's Day, Hitoshi Shinsou decides to take you out on a Valentine's date considering, you and your boyfriend Hitoshi Shinsou haven't been able to spend as much time together, as of late, aside from working together, as pro heroes, so he figured Valentine's Day would be the perfect day to surprise you by picking out a different place that neither of you ever been to before. "Hey, Shinsou... Babe... Where are you taking me, for lunch?", you asked while the both of you walked together, as you and Shinsou were holding hands together. He answered, "Well, (Y/N)"... It's a surprise... I just guarantee you will love this new place, I'm taking you to...".
Once the both of you made it to the new place that Shinsou planned on taking you to, as a surprise for Valentine's Day lunch, you have noticed something very different and cool about this new place he wanted to take you to. There were a bunch of workers in cat costumes, as if the cat costumes were work unforms. Then you have noticed that the place is also pet friendly, especially cat friendly, so you could bring cats there. You then noticed the sign of the name of the place, as the name of the place is called, "Kitty Cat Coffee Shop Cafe".
That was then you began to realize this place Shinsou took you for Valentine's Day lunch was definitely both a coffee shop and cafe combo, with a bunch of workers in cat uniforms, which is also a place that's pet friendly, especially cat friendly, so you can visit the cats that the workers take with them, visit the cat that the other customers take with them, and you could even bring your own cat with you to that particular coffee shop cafe combo. It was impossible for you to contain your excitement, and what made you more excited was Shinsou cooed, "Surprise, (Y/N)... I knew you would like it... And Happy Valentine's Day, my sweetie...", as he then hugged you from behind, proceeding to give you forehead kisses, before he continued, "Now let's order some coffee, or tea, or maybe hot cocoa, or anything you wanna order, my kitten...".
You and Shinsou ordered not only some beverages, including coffee and (boba tea, regular tea, or hot cocoa), the both of you order some food, as you relized the food you had ordered there is definitely your most favorite food to eat. After both you and Shinsou finished eating, you and Shinsou visit some of the kitties that the workers brought with them. The cats that the workers bought with them turned out to be the nicest cats that had ever roamed in the history of every universe there is.
Your date with Hitoshi Shinsou at the "Kitty Cat Coffee Shop Cafe" was definitely more than you could ever dream of or even ever imagined, to the point where it's not just the best Valentine's Day ever, however that whole day was definitely the best day you had ever had in your life, so far. And Shinsou definitely feel the same way about his day with you at the "Kitty Cat Coffee Shop Cafe". If the both of you had your way, you and Shinsou both would stay here forever and never leave there for a second. Th food, the beverages (especially the coffee), the employees who were in cat uniforms, the nicest cats ever, and everything else you can think of with this place, were definitely wonderful and like a dream come true. You were so happy Shinsou took you there on Valentine's Day and he's happy that he took you there on Valentine's Day, as well.
☕😺The💜End😺☕
I hope you enjoyed this Hitoshi Shinsou fanfic my Tumblr Peeps😁👍As for you @hitoshisbf , I hope you liked the surprise I did with your request☕💜😺👍I decided with the request "why not write both the "cat cafe for Valentine's Day" and the"coffee shop date" and mix both for the fanfic☕😺💜👍I think with option part of your request definitely helped me with the idea of writing both of the ideas down for this Shinsou fanfic💡😺💜☕😁👍As for the purple heart emoji (💜) between "The" and "End", I wanted to use the coffee emoji (☕), is cat emoji, and the heart emoji, however I decided to fet creative with this fanfic and write the end like I did this way (☕😺The💜End😺☕), so unlike the other fanfics I had written, I have put an emoji between "The" and "End" for this particular fanfic☕💜😺💡💌💘😁👍

'The World has got a Glow'
BBC Ghosts podfic
Tumblr media
My final podfic of this lovely BBC Ghosts series, 'Wherever You Find Love', bringing the total series listening time to 3 hours.
Written by Sir_Bedevere | @breadcrumbsandstars
Rated T, listening time 21 minutes.
Summary:
Pat said, “I used to love Valentine’s Day. It’s daft, I know, but I always got Carol a dozen red roses. Nice steaks for tea. Bit of dancing. Bit of a cuddle after.”
“You could have done that any day, Pat,” Julian said, rolling his eyes.
“Oh, I know. It was just nice, you know, to have something to look forwards to. An evening just the two of you, special like.”
The Captain has never had much use for Saint Valentine's Day. This year might be different.

My Darling Hera,
From the very first moment I heard your voice I loved you.
Everything I thought I wanted meant nothing after meeting you.
You came into my life and suddenly I didn't need the drink to take the pain away.
When you're by my side I can't help but wonder at your mighty spirit. It's like you have this light that comes from your very being. It has changed my life.
I want these words on paper to tell you how much you mean to me.
Be mine.
The galaxy could be falling around our ears and it wouldn't matter as long as you tell me I'm yours and you're mine.
If I could, I would use the Force to show you how much I love you. And maybe when your soul was as full as mine you would know that nothing feels right without you by my side.
Your wish is my command, Hera. Say the word and I'll follow you to the ends of the universe.
Atollon or Lothal, Tatooine or Coruscant, with you at my side I feel I can save the worlds. You make me a better man.
Be mine, be mine.
I can fly through the deepest, darkest space with you as my pilot and never lose my way, never give in to my fears.
Be mine.

This was supposed to be a short, sweet little Valentine's Day thing but it got longer because Armand and Daniel decided to have a real conversation, which honestly is probably better than whatever silliness I was planning (don't worry, there's still silliness and fluff!)
This is my Valentine's Day gift to the fandom and everyone who loves Armand/Daniel as much as I do. 💖💖 I hope you enjoy it. (Please let me know if you do, I never know what to write so it helps if I know what people want me to write more of!)

Will Anna's Cupid's arrow strike Kristoff's heart? Or will it knock him down, along with his display?
❤️🐻❤️
“Kris, you know I love you, right?  And you’re, like, sooo handsome, and all that,” Anna exaggerated facetiously.
She pinched his biceps, and said with a mocking tone, “I mean. Arms. For. Daaays … If you’re into the sort of thing.”
“Well, you’re not exactly my ideal, either, you know,” he said with a genuine smile.  “I mean... in a pinch,” he said with a wink.
She stuck her tongue out at him, then she bit her lip.  “So, um, listen, Kris.  You know the new produce guy Ryder?”
Kristoff leaned on one of the boxes he was unpacking and knocked it over, then stepped on a package of neon yellow Peeps that had just fallen out.  “Ryder?” in a high-pitched, breathy voice as his foot slid out from under him.
He groaned when he landed flat on his back, and Anna giggled and knelt over him. “Uh-huh!  Thought so!  You just can't seem to take your eyes off of him, can you?"
“See, this is why you’re not allowed within five feet of my displays.”  He even marked the floor at four points around the display area with taped black X’s that couldn’t be removed.  Anna knew better.
"Look, it's my job as your best friend to notice these kinds of things.  And I've noticed that ever since he started you've avoided the produce department."
He rubbed the back of his head, which fortunately only barely touched the ground.  “I’m ok, by the way.  Thanks for your concern.”
Anna ignored him and continued, “Come on, Kris, admit it.  You've got a crush!”
Kristoff gulped, “Mmm.  Mhmm.  You got me,” he said in defeat because lying to Anna was never worth the time or energy.  She never gave up and always found out anyway.
Anna held her hands out to help Kristoff up, and she squatted down so low that she almost fell over.  Their giggling didn't interfere with her mission, though.  "So, Kris."
She clapped her hands together and held them in front of her nose.  "Ryder’s going to be helping you with the display today.”

A Gift for Who?
AO3 Link in case you prefer that.
Posted at 11:17pm, Feb 14, 2023 so technically still Valentine’s day :p
Also went outside my comfort zone the more I wrote so ig the primary ship is Skye/Yoru, but tremorbolt does make an appearance, and I have something else for tremorbolt later this week that’s semi-valentines day related.
4.8k Words, continued under the keep reading line. No real warnings, I don’t think...
“What, you’re telling me that no one has ever given you flowers before?”
Skye was staring at Sage with what must’ve been a ridiculous look on her face. She knew her eyes were wide, jaw slightly agape, and yet… well…
“How?”
Sage shrugged, too busy with looking over the leaves and preening the plant Skye had asked her to look over. What started as just a plant sitting job has turned into a weekly meeting between them. Sage found comfort in the work, and Skye could use the help. “I’ve received chocolates before. Cards as well.”
“But not flowers?”
“Not flowers,” Sage shook her head. “They’re much more expensive, and well… once I got older, I moved to the monastery.”
“And not since, huh?”
“No. But I don’t mind. I spent my time there training, but also, I took care of flowers. I didn’t want dead ones anymore.” She finished off the flower, snipping just a few more leaves before setting the pot aside.
“But still…” Skye trailed off. She didn’t want to keep hammering on this point. It would only make Sage feel worse and—
“WHAT?”
Both her and Sage stood up in an instant to face the source of the noise, only to relax once they saw Phoenix standing up with his chair knocked a few feet back. Cypher was chuckling while still staring at the chessboard between them, and even Sova had a small smile on his face. The hunter looked up at them first, smile widening a little more as he realized what happened. Closer to the kitchenette, even Yoru stopped staring at the chess board and was staring at them, though he had the decency to look away when he made eye contact with Skye. Good. Wasn’t like they were the ones to cause the disturbance. But Sova kept staring at her, even after Yoru walked by Skye to leave the room.
Skye liked Sova; they became fast friends when she first joined. Both of them loved nature, and they also loved animals. Sova would show her pictures, and she let him practice his tracking skills on her summons. But even with all their time together, she had trouble reading him. He looked amused at the outburst, but he looked at them with something else. It wasn’t just mirth.
And like she thought, he came to her later that evening when she was alone in the green house. Skye had been doing some late-night check-ins with her plants. She had just set down a watering can when she heard Sova clear his throat. Her arm tensed, but at least it was better than the times he had snuck up on her without making his presence known.
“I have a bell if you wanna hang that around your neck,” she offered.
He offered a small smile. His eyes flickered to plants along the side, and she could practically see him trying to frame the perfect shot on some of them. “Need one of them?”
His eyes flicked back to her. “No, I was just wondering if you’ve had experience with flower arrangements?”
“Uh, a little. But I haven’t thought about it in a long time.” With other things in her life, and other goals taking priority, she let that one hobby of hers fade. “Why’re you asking?”
“I would like to make a bouquet for someone, but of course, I’m on standby here. I cannot leave base right now.”
“And Valentine’s day is coming up?” Skye asked.
He nodded. “You have beautiful flowers, and I would be willing to pay for your plants and your services.”
Skye was about to ask why he was coming so suddenly with this idea. It felt very last minute, but then she remembered the conversation from this afternoon. Flowers. Sage had never received flowers before.
“Aw, look at you, cutie. ‘Bout time someone stepped up and got Sage some flowers.”
His smile gave away perhaps the bit of embarrassment he had kept under wraps until then.
“Name a price, and we shall negotiate,” he said.
“Nah, this is too cute to ask for money,” she waved him off. “But come wintertime, I’m gonna need someone to help move the pots into this greenhouse.”
“I will be there,” Sova smiled.
“Then that’s all settled!” She started walking out, even reaching up to plant a hand on his shoulder as she led him out.
For the next few days, she helped Sova prepare flowers. They talked about colours, patterns, and even dabbled a little in meanings. Neither of them was very familiar with the last topic, and after discovering the intricacies that went into floral messages, she could practically smell Sova’s brain frying. English as a second language was probably only making it that much more complicated for him to learn, so the secret meaning idea was quickly discarded. A theme would work much better with his vision, or lack of one as she soon found out.
Skye eagerly suggested pretty pinks and reds. Roses. A classic bouquet to show his love. However, he was quick to dismiss that. While she felt like he was going about a Valentine’s bouquet all wrong, she kept her mouth shut while he looked over flowers with pretty yellows and purples. Flowers that would probably scream “just friends” to any other woman. So, yeah, maybe Sova’s dumb man brain was just looking at the colours he personally liked rather than thinking about the overall meaning. She did draw a line at sunflowers though. The ultimate symbol of friendship. No. None of those, even though Sova looked a little rejected when she said so – or as rejected as a stoic Russian mercenary could look.
She took no pleasure in trying to guide the stubborn hunter into a path that would lead to a successful Valentine’s day celebration, and she let that be known when she met up with Breach later on in the day.
“I just… What’s he trying to do? No girl’s gonna get some mum’s bouquet and swoon. If he wants this to work, he needs to get his head out of his own ass and start thinking about this from Sage’s perspective!”
Breach paused, woodcarving knife just barely against the little wooden statuette he had been working on with Skye for the past month. “This is Sova who’s getting flowers for Sage?”
“Yeah.” Hadn’t he been listening? She wanted to ask. Then, when he looked down at the little figurine he was detailing, something clicked in her head.
“Oh, I’m so sorry Breach. I know you’ve been working on this for a while.”
He sat back in his chair, placing the blade and the little owl charm off to the side while he seemed to think. When he looked back at Skye, the look turned much less pensive, and a little more confidence. His bravado was showing again, and he smirked at Skye. “No need to be sorry. It won’t matter.”
Even though he put this façade back up, she felt knots in her stomach. God, she wished she caught this earlier, maybe even dissuaded Sova from his plan. Instead, she got so swept away that she led Sova down this path, thus shutting the door on Breach’s hopes.
“Well, you put in good work on the owl, yeah? Why not finish it for yourself?”
“It’s not for myself,” Breach said, looking at the little owl.
Skye looked down at her own bit of work, another Tasmanian tiger, almost absent mindedly brushing over the newest portions she’s carved off. There would probably be a few splinters to contest with later, but right now her anxiousness was overriding her common sense. “Yeah… yeah of course.”
Breach didn’t say much else, but he leaned forward on the desk again and picked up the charm and the knife.
“I’m almost done. Should be ready by then.”
And ok… She looked over at Breach, trying to see if he was trying to mess with her at this point. But he was just whittling away at the owl now, not really paying her any attention.
“So… How’s it been between you and him?”
“Sova?” Breach’s eyes flickered to her right before resuming his work. “It’s been the same, I guess. We talked in the morning over his tea and my coffee. Bit of banter and the like.”
It wasn’t her place to comment, but he was right in the sense that there’s been no change in their relationship. Ever since he asked her for help with this little Valentine’s day project, she’s been keeping an eye on the two of them. And sure, they no longer went at each other’s throats like they used to, but they didn’t smile at each other, she didn’t catch any secret looks between them, not like when she caught Killjoy and Raze. So, yeah, maybe she was worried for the big, part-mechanical man. His heart wasn’t made of metal after all.
He stayed for less time than normal that evening, and Skye stayed for much longer. She thought about all the things she should’ve said instead, some way to maybe shield Breach. At least if Sova was the one to break his heart, he wouldn’t blame her. She just kept looking around the greenhouse, nitpicking at her plants while she was lost in thought.
“Skye?”
The new voice startled her, and she looked towards the entrance where Yoru was leaning against the wall.
“What are you still doing here?”
“Just thinking.” She took a deep breath, feeling the energy around her stir as she focused on it. When she felt it balance out, she opened her eyes and shot a smile towards Yoru. He paused mid-step towards her. “I’m fine.”
“So, I can see.” He stood up straight now, staring at anything – the ground even – instead of at her.
“Were you looking for me?”
He opened his mouth once before closing it and shrugging. “No… Just… I needed one of your plants. I was hoping to come around when no one else was here.” There was a pause, then, “Sorry if I walked in on something. I’ll come back some other time.”
“No, you can…” She trailed off when she saw him walk off around a corner.
She sighed at nothing in particular. There was nothing she could do now for the Swede. It was all in his own hands.
.
Over the next few days, she spent more and more of her time with Sova. First was sketching the overall look they wanted, next was setting the base and decorating the vase Sova wanted, and only on the day before, would they actually stick the flowers in. The final design they went for was a mix of yellow alstroemeria with bunches of pink flowers, the only bit of romantic flair she could convince him to add. And she was glad that he fought back on her ideas because even as she suggested the pretty pink blooms, she felt the bitterness well up at the back of her throat.
Breach… he was walking his heart right into a slaughter.
She would still talk to Breach on occasion. He came by less and less, especially as their little project finished up. That wasn’t what she noticed. She noticed the shorter gym sessions, the increased disappearances, even the looks over her shoulder at no one in particular and secret messages he’d turn away from her.
The evening before Valentine’s day, the last thing he said to her as she warned once more that Sova was sending Sage flowers was, “Things’ll work out. Trust me.”
Argh. That stubborn…
“I don’t know what I’m doing wrong?” She said out loud. Yoru was helping her water and care for all the plants now that Sage was on mission. She would be back tomorrow, so Sova’s plans would go well, and so Breach’s heart would get broken.
At least there was someone other than greens to hear her this time. She had just sent Sova away with the bouquet of flowers before Yoru swung by to get some fresh mint. That package was still on the table, wrapped up and yet untouched now that he was here filling up another watering can.
“It sounds like you’ve done as much as you can. Why do more?”
She gave him a deadpan look. At least he had the sense to look ashamed as his eyes flicked back to the plants.
“Because I want them both to be happy, and I want Sage happy too. But this way, I feel like I’m not giving Breach a fair shot.”
“You were patient enough to teach him how to carve something. That’s plenty.”
She sighed. Skye would like to argue, but she was both too tired to, and all out of arguments. Yoru was right. She did as both of them wanted. It wasn’t her fault that Sova didn’t like him like that. It wasn’t her fault that Breach fell for Sova anyways.
“All this drama is just too much,” she sighed. “You know, I’ve never understood Valentine’s day.”
Yoru froze. “You haven’t?”
“No! Can ya blame me? All this drama, and…” she sighed, maybe for the hundredth time this hour.
“I think the idea is nice. Love and… stuff.”
She snorted a laugh, quickly coughing to cover it up. She heard a watering can be set down as Yoru was suddenly interested in something in one of the troughs, unaware of the momentary amusement he just brought her.
“Thanks, you know?” She leaned against the only desk in this place while she watched him lift the water-filled can up and turned to her. So what if she liked the look of his shoulders as he worked? Not like she normally saw him like this when he kept that bright blue jacket on.
“No need. You said Sage wasn’t around, and I needed your garden. A trade’s a trade.”
She never realized just how little he said. But there was a depth to his tone that made her feel like he wanted to be here. He wasn’t trying to brush her off.
“Yeah, but for listening to me ramble, you know? Not everyone can stand that.”
“It’s fine. I’m fine.”
They continued on with a little bit of chatter, a little on Jett and Phoenix’s latest shenanigans and a little on Skye’s most recent experiments with her radiant powers. By the time he left, Skye was a lot more relaxed. Worried, but no longer endlessly anxious. It was perhaps the only thing that got her to sleep knowing what the next day would bring.
.
With a mission coming back and a debrief as well as various meetings throughout the day, Skye actually didn’t get a chance to meet up with Sage, Sova, or Breach to figure out how things went. She knew how they’d go, but she needed to be there for Breach at least. Though, she wasn’t even sure if or when Sage got her flowers and if or when Sova got the owl charm. It was frustrating though, how those thoughts stayed in her mind even when she was doing her job and focusing on other tasks.
“Skye!”
She looked up from the map Brimstone placed in front of her. She had been trying to study it, commit all the landmarks to memory, but she was just getting so distracted. Sage was practically waltzing into the room though. In her hands was the white vase with the pale pink ribbon, bright pink and yellow flowers poking out at the top.
She looked happy. That could only mean that Sova was happy too. And Breach would be on his own.
“Aww look at that! You got your flowers!”
She nodded. “I came here to thank you! I’d recognize these flowers as yours any day. The smell is so wonderful, and the colours are so bright and pretty!” Then, in a lower voice, she murmured, “And while Sova is quite capable, this has your touch to it. Thank you.”
“Shucks, it was nothing,” Skye said, unable to stop smiling from the joy radiating off Sage. “It was Sova’s idea though, he should deserve some credit.”
“Of course, he and I talked about this and the process. Who knew when he first joined that he’d be so sensitive?” She was staring at the flowers now, a dreamy look overtaking her features.
“What are you up to tonight?”
“Oh, I had plans with Brimstone and Viper, but first I need to find the perfect place to put them. They’ll freshen up my room after I was gone for so long.” With that, she walked down the hall.
Huh. Her plans… weren’t exactly what she was expecting, but if they were pre-existing ones, then Skye guessed that Sage felt obligated to keep them. But this also meant… She had to find Breach.
The first place she went to was the dorm hall. She tried to knock on the door to his room, but no one answered. She had already tried to text Breach, but Breach wasn’t responding. She didn’t blame him, but she felt like he shouldn’t have blamed her either. But after trying the gym, lounge, and the training room, she had no other options but to hunt down the information broker.
Cypher looked up at Skye as she approached, remembering the last time he didn’t let her know that he saw she was there and she slammed the table, underestimating her strength and sending a few of his chess pieces flying. She took a seat this time, across from him and clasped her hands together on the table.
“I reckon you know where Breach is. I haven’t seen the bludger all day!”
He tilted his head a little. “And you assume I know where he is?”
“Don’t ya?”
Cypher looked down at the chessboard again. He could try to negotiate something with Skye, but that would take time and she could be quite stubborn when she felt like she was being ripped off… which just so happened to be every deal he has ever tried to make with her. But he looked tired, and Skye was serious. She just had to try very hard not to look too gleeful so that the next time she needed something, he would come to the same conclusion: it was easier and harmless to just give her what she wanted.
“I saw him heading towards the stairs up to the roof. How he got a key…” Cypher shrugged. “Try there.”
“Thanks. You’re a real beaut.” And she rushed off.
She ran up to the stairwell, swiping her card multiple times in a rush to open the door. Finally, on the fifth or sixth try, she got it to open, and she rushed up. Time had passed without her realizing. Just how many hours did she spend in that room? She had to blink her eyes a few times to get adjusteed to the darkness, but as she was starting to see her surroundings, she heard a few concerning things.
“Is that all you want from me?”
That was Breach, and he was talking to…
“Breach—” Sova… Shit.
She rushed around the rooftop storage to where the voices were coming from, and she froze. In front of her, Sova had his back up against the wall, one hand on Breach’s hip, and the other wrapped up in red hair at the back of Breach’s head. And Breach. She couldn’t actually see Breach’s face because it was pressed up against Sova’s neck to… well.
Without her even saying anything, maybe just from her footsteps, Sova’s head turned towards her, and his eyes widened. As the realization that he was caught hit, he yanked on Breach’s hair hard enough to pull his head back.
“What the—” Breach started forming the last word of that sentence just as he followed Sova’s eyes to Skye. It felt like his words echoed in the night air as he understood what Sova was worried about.
The two men looked at each other, and Skye just… It was like they had a whole conversation, and she didn’t speak the language. Just from their faces alone. When did they get this close?
“I told you things would be fine,” Breach smirked as he turned back towards Skye. “He liked the owl. Right?”
Sova scoffed, but then he smiled at Skye, “You did a good job teaching him. If you truly did not do most of the work.”
Breach gave a mock offended look, but then quickly leaned in to peck Sova on the lips.
“Sova,” Skye started. She was genuinely happy for Breach. She wanted this for him – to find someone else he got along with, but Sage… She seemed so happy. And for Sova to be up here with Breach meant that she would only get hurt. “I never knew you’d be such a two-timing bastard.”
He had the indecency to look shocked, as if he expected her to be polite.
“I never cheated on Breach,” he said.
“Not Breach – Sage!”
Sova’s face went blank, not from guilt, but something else. And of course, Breach picked up on whatever was going on because he couldn’t contain his laughter.
“Sova,” he mock scolded the hunter. “How dare you!”
And that got Sova to move, though not much as his hand still in Breach’s hair just tugged a little reminding him that he did know how to hurt Breach, even if he didn’t want to.
Sova looked back at Skye and said, “I respect Sage, and I enjoy her company, but I was never interested.”
“She looked so happy about the flowers though! How could you of all people—”
“There’s a misunderstanding,” Sova said with his hands up in front of him. A surrender, especially as Skye took steps towards him. “I gifted her flowers, yes, but I didn’t choose overly romantic flowers. And when I gave them to her, I made it clear that it was just a gift between friends. I respect her as a leader, but I do not see her as a love interest. She was pleased all the same, no?”
“So she knows?” She could practically feel her blood pressure dip back down to normal. “You didn’t lead her on?”
Sova shoved his hands in his pockets, and Breach automatically pressed up against him, like a shield against the wind. “No. I have no intention of making her think otherwise. It was just a token of friendship. She knows.”
“That’s… good.” Ok, so she was the one misinterpreting this all Valentine’s day thing.
“Plus, she’s spending the night with Brimstone and Viper. Do you really think they’re just gonna watch a movie? All three? In a dark room?” Breach teased.
Huh. So, there was a lot more going on around here than she thought. “What about that rule?”
“You’re talking to me. What rules?” Breach scoffed.
Sova gave him a soft slap, something that got Breach’s attention more than hurt him. Breach leaned over once more to press a kiss to Sova’s forehead and asked the hunter, “If you’re still cold you can leave first. I can finish this talk for us.”
Sova nodded.
“Your room or mine?” Breach asked as Sova walked away.
Skye watched him tilt his head, then with what she could only describe as a mischievous look – something she thought she’d never seen from Sova of all people – Sova pointed to himself. Breach nodded and watched him all the way until she heard the door close.
“Look, sorry for scaring you, but really, thank you. Couldn’t have pulled off tonight without your help with the owl. And I’m sure Sova would say the same about the flowers.”
She punched his arm, forgetting that they were metal for a second before Breach raised his eyebrows and her knuckles hurt a little. “Piss off. Ya fucking…”
He chuckled and she just shook her head.
“All that time helping us though,” Breach started, “Did you get yourself anything for Valentine’s? A date maybe?”
Skye rolled her eyes. “Not likely. Seems like everyone’s paired up already anyways.”
“Some are trio’d.”
She pulled a face, not even sure what it was for, but Breach snorted a laugh. Then, he looked past her and tapped her shoulder. “Might not be too late for you.”
Behind her, standing just at the door, was Yoru with a small box in his hands. He looked… awkward didn’t even begin to describe him. His hair was done up, but he was in a nice shirt instead of his jacket, and he looked genuinely anxious, a look she had never seen on him before.
In a more sing-song voice, Breach added, “Have fun, flower girl. Don’t forget to use some protection, ja?”
She tried to punch him again as he walked off, but his strides were long and was quickly out of reach. He whispered something to Yoru as he passed, and the riftwalker regained his characteristic annoyed features before Breach closed the door behind him, and Yoru was alone with Skye.
“Hey,” she started. And with what Breach said, the gift in Yoru’s hand, and all the increased visits, she was sure about what he was going to ask, but she still couldn’t believe it.
His cheeks were flushed a light pink as he stepped up, and if she didn’t know better, she’d say that it was due to the cold. But she would have to be dense to ignore the far more likely explanation.
“Let me guess. You really didn’t need mint leaves that night. And Sage didn’t really tell you to help me water the plants?”
He shuffled his feet a little, staring at the ground as if it were the most interesting thing in the world. Then, he swallowed and shook his head. As he did, he looked her in the eyes and his arrogant façade was completely gone. He looked nervous, excited, and hopeful.
“You’re… You’re really cool.” His tone was the same one someone would use as they unwillingly gave up secrets. Maybe her face gave away her thoughts too because he followed it up with, “I mean that in a good way. I… You’re really good at your job, and uh…”
He sighed and stared at the stars. Like they would help him now.
“Is the gift for me?” she asked, trying to help him out.
“Yeah. I… made it for you. I thought you would… like it?”
Carefully, as though it were the most precious gem, and it might as well have been because, well, gosh darn it, he was just the cutest right now. She undid the pretty pink ribbon and lifted the lid off, handing it to his outstretched hand. She couldn’t help her reaction though. She felt her mouth drop open just a little as her eyes widened. On what looked like a silver chain bracelet, there were bits of what looked like wood carved vines looping between the various links and holes. Spaced out along the vine were well polished looking flowers, all painted to perfection, creating the illusion of a vine wrapping around her wrist.
“Holy…” She looked up at Yoru. “You said you made this?”
His eyes were narrowed as he was trying to gauge her reaction. “Yes? Breach would record your lessons and I would listen to them after you taught him. He… He helped. But I did the wood parts. And the painting.”
She handed him the box as she took the bracelet out, still admiring the work on it. Sure, there were a few bits here and there that she would carve differently, but this was still better than amateur work.
“Seems like I did a good job.” And there it was. His confidence was creeping back now. “I hope you like it.”
“I… I love it!” She threw her arms around his shoulders and hugged him tight. “This is amazing! No one’s ever done something like this for me.”
She hung it over her wrist, and he helped her do the clasp. Now that they were standing so close, and his head was dipped slightly so he could see the bracelet in the moonlight, she could study him. His small scrapes and scars, the furrow of his eyebrows as he concentrated, and the way he clenched his jaw. When he looked back up at her, she could only think to do one thing.
Skye leaned in towards him. His one hand that was on her wrist still slid to her elbow, then her ribs, then finally to her waist. He helped hold her up to him so that when she closed her eyes, she could feel his breath on other lips. And when they actually kissed, it just felt natural to her. Like how the wind coursed through the mountains, or how a river flowed over earth, the power of the world around them coursing through her veins, it was natural. Something they didn’t have to worry about.
When they parted, noses and foreheads still pressed against each other, she could only let out a breathy chuckle that he joined in with too.
“Thanks, Yoru. This was…”
“The best Valentine’s day?”
She thought for a bit, watching as he rolled his eyes when he realized she was just playing with him, and she nodded her head. “Yeah. I’d reckon it’s the best day I’ve ever had period.”

I am sorry it took so long to get the Valentine's Day Holiday Special. It is a tad angsty and not super romantic but it is a good Valentine's story. I hope you check it out!

valentine’s prompts; tropes ˗ˏˋ ꒰ 🍊 ꒱
ੈ✩‧₊˚ friends to lovers
¹⁾ “you really planned this?! remind me how you’re single, again?”
²⁾ “thanks for making today a little less depressing.”
³⁾ “has it occurred to you that we’ve spent more valentine’s days with each other than with people we’ve actually been dating?”
⁴⁾ “c’mon, like i need an excuse to spend time with you.”
⁵⁾ “i can’t help but think that this is a little more effort than someone would normally put in for their friend.”
ੈ✩‧₊˚ coworkers to lovers
¹⁾ “if you’re still wondering who left those flowers at your desk, i think i’m ready to put your mind at ease.”
²⁾ “you’re telling me you really have nowhere better to be than here today?”
³⁾ “c’mon, it’s not like haven’t shared a dinner whilst working late before. it doesn’t have to mean anything different just because of the day that’s in it.”
⁴⁾ “someone’s been leaving valentines for me all over the building today, and i’m pretty sure i know who.”
⁵⁾ “i don’t have any plans after work, and i know you haven’t either. how about we keep each other company instead of spending it alone?”
ੈ✩‧₊˚ roommates to lovers
¹⁾ “before you say anything about me being at home tonight, i want to remind you that you are too.”
²⁾ “i thought that since we both had nowhere to be today, we could make a day of it. just ourselves.”
³⁾ “i’m guessing that the fact you’re already home will tell me everything i need to know about how your date went.”
⁴⁾ “wow, someone’s looking good. hot date, or what?”
⁵⁾ “i’m happy i got to spend the day with someone i actually care about.”
ੈ✩‧₊˚ exes to lovers
¹⁾ “don’t tell me; you had so much fun with me last year, that you just couldn’t resist spending it with me again.”
²⁾ “wow, you really don’t have anyone special in your life at the minute.”
³⁾ “ i wanted to treat you how i should’ve before.”
⁴⁾ “you really thought i wouldn’t remember what you like? please, give me a little credit.”
⁵⁾ “maybe if things had gone like this every year, we wouldn’t have ended up the way we did.”
ੈ✩‧₊˚ secret relationship
¹⁾ “are you telling me we can’t do anything to mark the day?”
²⁾ “i understand if you don’t want to, but i wanted to tell you that i planned a few things for us today.”
³⁾ “it’s so much less than what you deserve, but it’s all i could think to do given the circumstances.”
⁴⁾ “and here i was, expecting just an anonymous bunch of flowers.”
⁵⁾ “i couldn’t think of a better night to show everyone how in love with you i am.”

Steve parks at Eddie's, a plastic wrapped bouquet of roses so purple they're almost black carefully buckled into the passenger seat, and a nervous twist to his stomach. He didn't plan to do this. It's just, he was agonizing about his crush to Robin and she goaded him until it seemed like a great fucking idea to ask Eddie out on Valentine's Day, of all days.
The flowers were an accident. He saw them in the front window of the little flower shop in town, and it felt like fate, like they were practically made for Eddie Munson.
With a deep breath and a gritted teeth, he swings out of the car, flowers in hand. He's doing this, he's got this, he can ask Eddie out.
Music rocks from the trailer, drowning out Steve's knock. They didn't exactly have plans tonight, only they hangout every night since Vecna, so he figured...well, Eddie never said they weren't getting together.
He's a little miffed when his knock isn't answered. Even when the music is up, the walls of the trailer vibrating, Eddie always comes to the door. But the minutes tick by with no response until the annoyance turns to anxiety.
He stretches over, up on tiptoe, craning through the window to see if he can spot Eddie, probably distracted by planning for dnd or working on a song.
The kitchen is deserted, pots steaming on the stove. The two-seater table is covered in one of those paper tablecloths they have at Melvald's for a buck, patterned with bright red hearts. The table is set, two plates, two beers, a candle burning in the center of it all.
God, he's stupid. So stupid, with his nearly black flowers and his silly crush. Of course Eddie already had someone to spend Valentine's Day with.
He stumbles down the stairs, stomach fighting up his throat. The loud music makes so much sense now. He has to leave. He can't stand the thought of Eddie finding him here, letting him down easy; can stand even less seeing him with the date he has over.
Steve almost makes it back to the car before he hears the screen door slam, Eddie's voice calling his name. For a second, he considers ignoring him; for a second, he thinks about jumping in the car and driving off and forgetting this ever happened. But he could never do that to Eddie, not even when the consequence is his own heart.
"Oh, uh. Hey, man," Steve says. He runs his fingers through his hair, swallows. "Didn't mean to interrupt, thought we had plans but I guess they weren't set in stone." He's rambling and he knows it, but can't stop. "I didn't realize you--I'll get out of your hair."
Eddie's eyes flicker from Steve to the flowers clutched in his fist, the wrapping now sweaty and rumpled. "Are those for me?" Eddie asks.
Steve's mouth open and closes a few times, thrown off the track of his monologue and trying to think of a plausible lie. "I--they're--it's--"
There's nothing for it. He has to tell the truth and eat the humiliation. "I saw them today and--They're perfect for you. So, I wanted--" he shakes his head, shoves the bouquet into Eddie's arms. "Happy Valentine's Day. I'll let you get back to your date."
Eddie's face scrunches and it would be cute except for all the way Steve's heart is breaking. "Aren't you my date?"
"What?"
"Steve. We hang out every night. I thought--"
"But. For me--" He splutters. "The table?"
"Harrington, it's Valentine's Day! You bought me flowers!"
"Yeah, cause I was going to ask you out!"
This is what breaks Eddie, and he bursts out into helpless giggles.
"Don't laugh at me, Munson." But he's starting to laugh too.
"I'm sorry! I just--you," and Eddie isn't laughing anymore, he's looking at Steve with clear, shining eyes. "You brought me flowers."
Steve sobers too, hands over the bouquet. "I brought you flowers. You made me dinner."
"Yeah." He glances up at Steve from under his eyelashes. "I made you dinner."
"Sorry for--" He gestures broadly around himself.
Eddie shakes his head, soft smile on his lips. "You're something else, Stevie." The words are so fond they make Steve's heart flip. "Now, come inside before the food gets cold."
Steve walks to do the door, pausing before he climbs the stairs.
"What is it?" Eddie's eyebrows lift.
"Nothing. Just--" Steve licks his lips, notices the way Eddie tracks the movement. "I'm really falling for you, is all."
"No duh," Eddie says with a broad, smitten grin. "You bought me flowers."
