𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗮𝗯𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗰, 𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗸, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗮𝗻𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗲. Still, chalk it up to his thirst for knowledge, not so much for any thirst for power. Gale, a scholar—inquisitive, curious, and infinitely probing—boasts an insatiable desire to learn all that he can. However, as a follower of Mystra, he's from her sole Weave that he's encouraged to pull from; yet, despite this urging, this unspoken rule, the chasms of the Shadow Weave yet bubble in his thoughts. It's powerful magic, of course, warped under Shar like bones or metal, but still, the arcane is mystery, and the arcane delights him, and even clouded by corruption, it still harbors its worth. Put simply, Gale believes that all magic is essentially fair game. After all, it exists on their plane, sits waiting there a touch like a well for your thirst, and so long as you're careful, what's the harm in sampling? In the Shadow Cursed lands, he'd felt the itch to indulge himself, to whet his need, and when he fashioned that lantern without his goddess' permission, there sprung a devilish delight that timidly gripped him. It was like, well, being a boy again, to be honest, with his hand in a jar of biscuits he'd been told to not touch. It was an act of rebellion, spurred a quiver by Mystra's spite, sure, but far more than that, it came from a weakness to feel its power, and to feel the heft of it and to taste its tang. If it's one thing about Gale, it's that he so thoroughly loves magic. And even if said magic is cursed and bedeviled, it'll always have a draw for him, tamable or otherwise. To be sure, there is some hubris at play here as well: he'll be careful, he tells himself. He can manage.
For better or for worse, Gale, though more morally aligned than not, can still find himself weak to temptation.

(Major S-Class Heroine spoilers)
ok idk if im mischaracterising tesilid but like. tesilid in my head is such a funny guy because he went fuck this shit im tired of living and the world wont let me die in peace so ill destroy it so NEITHER of us can exist and he becomes a mass murderer and puts his entire heart into it. and he's like teehee since this will be the last round i'll just have fun committing some (many) atrocities, but then when it doesn't work out he goes uhh hey god if you're actually out there. that wasn't very nice of me, sorry. i'll be good this time. and he genuinely means it 😭 both times. when he destroyed the world and when he said whoops that was a shit idea nevermind wont try that again. like he's beating himself up for it and when things go wrong he blames it on his sins, like does that sound like a thoroughly evil person to you. it's like he was just being a little silly and committed a whoopsie when he was off destroying the world yaknow like that wasn't really him that was just a slip of judgement when the chaos and evil got him at his very fucking worst and had zero support. it just so happened that this "slip of judgement" occured over an extended period of time and he did actively pursue it for a while but like

Kuroko has definitely gone in on someone who asked him a stupid question to the point of silence
"idk who had a worse day, the spurs who got swept, or the interviewer who just stopped talking after kuroko called him out for asking those dumbass questions" - said by some fan on twitter, probably

Annnnd the usual Value Village haul! (plus some things I was so, so brave for not buying):
glass pitcher (been meaning to get one for ages)
"brie baker" that came in a nice cardboard box. I wanted a smaller dish to roast tomatoes and garlic in, that was the smallest one with a lid. I actually kinda want an even smaller one for just one bulb of garlic, there were a bunch of them at the store a few weeks ago but alas, I didn't buy one when I could and now I will have to wait. and also maybe bake some brie.
tiny vase for a little flower from the garden
wicker basket to go under the bathroom sink (or on the counter?), bc it's gotten very disorganized again
Celestial Seasonings tin that was just too cute to pass up
rectangular dish with the same pattern as some oval ones I have
heart-shaped baking dishes! idk what I'll make in them but I'm very excited!
very pretty copy of The Hobbit (as if I needed another one)
lace table runner to go on top of the new Kallax shelf, been looking for one for a while cause I don't want to stain or scratch the top of it and finally found one the right size.
A beautiful crocheted tablecloth!! Couldn't pass it up. Also it sorta matches the ones my great aunt made so it'll fit in here (they actually had quite a few crocheted things, but due to my wool allergy this was the only one I could actually touch)
And things I resisted buying: a fuckton of shojo manga (so cool! but nothing I really needed and each book was $5-6 and I really didn't want to spend $30+ on books today), and some lamps that would have been perfect for the new shelf if I hadn't already bought some. I need to *not* become a lamp collector. There's only so many lamps one can have...
