He didn't know about you until his sister, Ei and her girlfriend would hang around you and talk about you often. Eventually got to meet you and bro— you bet he was flustered. Why the heck were you so sweet and nice??? Now he knows why Ei always praises you.

Doesn't care one bit about you being nonverbal. Come on, you're just a normal human being, like him, why should he care about minor details? 

Plus, you talk plenty through AAC apps on your phone… and he means plenty. 

You're quite the chatterbox, talking about things that happened throughout the day. Like a cute little cat you saw on the streets or a funny titled novel you found in a bookstore. 

To some people it might sound a little off hearing a robotic voice having conversation with people but Scara got used to it. 

He gets worried about you on days when you're not talking a lot. Won't say it but he shows through actions.

Xiao 

He's been friends with you for a long time, since you were in kindergarten. Particularly because the two of your parents were colleagues and neighbours. 

It took you some time to warm up to Xiao and communicate with him, but he swears to the Archons above… The day he heard your voice, he had ascended to Celestia. Treasures that day in his heart because it meant you trusted him (although the two of you were too young to understand the meaning of "trust"). Most of the time it's you chattering away and him listening while commenting here and there. 

Ever since then, you've talked normally with Xiao unless you were under stress or anxiety. 

That's when he holds your hand to calm you down… and you appreciate him being there for you.

Sometimes people would call you mean names or bully you, heh, those poor souls… They did not know what was coming for them the next day :))) you'll never know either.  

Thoma

He heard that a new foreign exchange student was studying in the same uni as him!

And he just HAD to befriend you.

Thoma got lucky and met you in the uni library one day. He asked if he could sit next to you, and you nodded with a smile. Both of you were busy doing your own thing.

Then, it became a routine of sorts. Thoma would always take a seat near you in the library, that spot became his. Before he knew it, he started passing notes with you. 

It was fun and cute

Found out about how you were nonverbal through that. Thoma doesn't care about it though, you're still you.

Later on, both of you realised phones exist and got each other's phone number. Thoma finally got the courage to ask you out after that.

"Wanna get coffee with me? Like.. a date-date?"

Three in One Post

For my A-Pal’s Post

Looks really cute the Speedsters are snuggling with the Rabbits and Mikey. At least with National Hugs day since I already got mine from last year when Shadow and Spot got to snuggle together. Which I’m they can still do that. Especially Aace can snuggle with Lighting, Speedy, Zack, Penny, Kimmy and Julie. That can be really fun, even if Aace wants to keep the warm.

Looks cute seeing Panini showing her feet. But again I’m not a huge foot person, but I remember I used to draw Animal Crossing characters showing off their feet for my Canadian friend.

I didn’t know there was also a Squirrels day event as well.

Key issues to consider to write your comments

The most important message is that cut levels must be radically reduced to reflect the on-the-ground reality of our forests, the priorities of local communities and Indigenous Nations, and the health of our ecosystems.

Old Growth

The province must stop using an oldest-first harvest strategy in the Timber Supply Review Process. We should be protecting our old growth, not targeting these stands for logging. In many parts of the Kootenay Lake TSA, less than 10% of the old growth forests are still standing. It’s time to stop logging old growth and to calculate the Annual Allowable Cut with the assumption that no more old growth will be cut.

The Annual Allowable Cut is based on the Timber Harvesting Land Base (the area of forest that is theoretically available for logging over time). Even though BC has deferred logging on 62,055 hectares of old growth forest in the Kootenay Lake Timber Supply Area, they still are including many of these areas in the Timber Harvesting Land Base, meaning other areas suffer even more logging because the calculations are based on forests that aren’t really available for logging. The chief forester has to adjust the AAC to account for the areas set aside for old growth.

Seventy-eight percent of designated Old Growth Management Areas (another designation meant to protect old growth) over two hectares in size in the Kootenay Lake TSR are actually in sub-alpine areas that cannot be logged anyways. Old Growth Management Areas should be designated where old growth can actually be protected from logging. Pretending to protect something that was never threatened by logging just inflates the numbers.

Protect Our Water

The current and projected AAC relies on harvesting community watersheds. Thirty percent of the Timber Harvesting Land Base is in community watersheds. We need a precautionary approach that excludes community watersheds from the Timber Harvesting Land Base. We have to protect our drinking water. Industrial logging in watersheds sends sediment downstream into our drinking water, reducing water quality. Logging large swaths of mature forest in watersheds also makes floods in our communities more likely. Recent literature suggests that after 30% of a watershed is logged, what used to be a once-in-a-century flood comes around every 15 years.

Climate Change Realism

We know that climate change will result in more fires and flooding, increased regeneration delays, more extreme weather, and more beetle outbreaks. That means less wood available. The Ministry says that we can’t forecast the exact quantitative effects of climate change, so they pretend those effects don’t exist. The Ministry must reduce cut levels to a precautionary level to account for climate change.

Look Forwards, Not Backwards In The TSR

The TSR process has to look forward and integrate reasonable assumptions about our future and on-the-ground realities into models used to calculate the Annual Allowable Cut. That means not only that old growth deferrals and community watersheds need to be taken out of the Timber Harvesting Land Base, but also that government commitments to shifting away from clearcut logging, improving forestry practices on the ground and ecosystem needs all must be incorporated into the model.

Denmark's F-16 fighters will support NATO air policing mission in Iceland

The Royal Danish Air Force (RDAF) has unfolded its F-16 fighters to support NATO's air policing mission in Iceland.

The RDAF will carry out the exercises together with the Icelandic Coast Guard (ICG) from Keflavik Air Base. The deployed F-16 aircraft have already begun to carry out Air Policing missions on August 17.

The mission will be controlled by the NATO Control and Reporting Center (CRC) in Keflavik and the NATO Center for Combined Air Operations (CAOC) in Uedem, Germany.

This is the fifth deployment of RDAF fighters, marking Denmark's sustainability and continuity in supporting the Allied mission in Iceland.

Colonel Wilhelm May, leader of the CAOC certification team of the German Air Force, said: "For the third time in 2022, the CAOC team carried out NATO fighter certification to conduct air policing in the north above Iceland.

"The RDAF's F-16 detachment has once again demonstrated that it masters tactics, techniques and procedures to safeguard the skies.

“They are now on standby until mid-September and work with strategically important NATO allies.

“Firmly linked to the long-lasting and proven integrated air and missile defense architecture, the RDAF, together with the ICG, shows deterrence and defense of the alliance.”

The CAOC can also deploy allied aircraft that are kept ready to perform the Air Policing sorts.

According to the NATO Allied Air Command (AAC), the alliance and the Icelandic authorities also agreed that maintaining the appropriate arrangements and a periodic presence of fighter jets in Keflavik is crucial to the safety of Icelandic airspace.

The goal of the peacetime mission is to regularly conduct training and flight exercises. It will also support allied nations to comply with Iceland's requirements to stay prepared, monitor and manage their airspace in peacetime.

Edo Guber poll: INEC publishes final list of candidates

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the final list of 17 candidates for the Edo Governorship Election. Mr Sam Olumekun, INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, said this in a statement on Monday in Abuja. Olumekun said that the list included one female and 16 males. He named some of the male candidates to include Mr Ighodalo Asuerinme of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Mr Okpebholo Monday of the All Progressives Congress (APC), while the only female candidate, Mrs Patient Ndidi, is of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP). Olumekun said that following the initial primaries, the commission published the personal particulars of the governorship candidates and their running mates in the state and local government offices in Edo. He said that in line with the provision of Section 33 of the Electoral Act, 2022, some political parties conducted fresh primaries to replace their earlier nominated candidates before the deadline of April 15. “The Action Alliance (AA) and African Democratic Congress (ADC) replaced their governorship candidates and their running mates. “In addition, the African Action Congress (AAC), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Boot Party (BP) and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) replaced the running mates of their candidates. “Overall, 17 political parties are fielding candidates in the election, 16 are male, while one is female,” he said. Olumekun said that the final list, which also gave the breakdown of the candidates by age, academic qualifications and disability, had been published at the INEC office in Edo and uploaded on its website and social media platforms for public information. He said that political parties and their candidates must note that the campaign for the election would commence on Wednesday, April 24 and end at midnight on Thursday, Sept. 19. “With the publication of the final list of candidates for the Edo governorship election, the next activity is the electioneering campaign. “As provided by Section 94(1) of the Electoral Act 2022, campaigns by Political Parties in public shall commence not earlier than 150 days before polling day and end 24 hours prior to that day. “Therefore, political parties are now permitted to start their campaigns in public from Wednesday, April 24 and end at midnight on Thursday, Sept. 19 as indicated in items eight and 12 of the timetable and schedule of Activities for the election,” he said. Olumekun called on candidates, agents and their supporters to adhere to the provision of the law and the commission’s guidelines governing electioneering campaigns. “For emphasis, parties shall conduct their campaigns with civility and decorum devoid of inciting language, violence, voter inducement and other infractions mentioned in Sections 92 – 97 of the Electoral Act 2022,” he said.
