Josephine Baker (June 3, 1906 – April 12, 1975), was an American-born French dancer, singer and actress. Her career was centered in Europe, mostly in her adopted France. She was the first black woman to star in a major motion picture, the 1927 silent film “Siren of the Tropics”. (From her Wikipedia entry)
Hey Tumblr fam, come check out my new listing for beautiful waist beads! Adorn yourself with handmade, elastic African waist beads made with 4mm glass beads of various colors. These waist beads are perfect for showing off your belly at the beach or with your favorite outfit. Or, you can wear them under your clothes and keep them just for yourself or your partner.
I wanted to share with you my new voodoo priest rattle in New Orleans Voodoo.
As you see in the pic above ☝️ the rattle is a small gourd rattle. Beaded all the way around by the handle we have some of the Main African Orishas Deity bead colors.
In the above ☝️ picture more beads were added above the Orisha beads. There are some of the Haitian Lwa colors. One of them is my Met Tet. It also haves Met Kalfu, Baron & Bridgette, Legba, Ezurli Dantor to name a few and they all have meaning to me.
Shell's has been added to the priest rattle. As well as the flour de les to represent my city.
