If you want to wear it, wear it!
Digital illustration of a brown grandma with styled white hair. She has black sunglasses on that read, 'hot stuff' and her pink faux fur jacket has text that reads, 'fashion has no age limit.'

Adults marking themselves as a safe person for a child is adultism.
You don't get to declare yourself a safe person, you have to earn that title.
You earn a child's trust by being trustworthy, you earn a child's respect by being respectful, and you get a child to listen by listening.
No shortcuts with safety pins or penguins. No shortcuts period.
It's patronizing. Stop it.

There's always this inherent pressure to look young in trans & other lgbtq spaces online & I actually kind of hate that. I feel like this is a thing anyway and I won't get into all of the societal issues with youth obsession here (you can ask someone else or maybe ask me & eventually I'll come around to answering), but it actually fucking disgusts me.

For those dragging us older gals (I'm 40), you do realize that someday you will be our age? My hope for you is that don't have to deal with the ageist shit that we get thrown our way on a daily basis.
For the record, I'm loving being my age. My tolerance for BS is extremely freeing.

Ageism has to be the most stupid, nonsensical, thoughtless form of bigotry, because you are literally turning into the thing you are being hateful towards every single second of every single day, no matter *what* you do.
"Wow, s/he's getting old." Friend, I will Cashapp you $100 USD right now if you can name one non-fictional human currently living on Earth who is *not*.

I don’t get involved in much, but I do have a small bit to say about the Rowling situation. People keep saying things about her doing ‘research’ and choosing antisemitic characteristics.
What kind of research are we talking about here? She finished the 1st book in 1995. I know I didn’t have a home computer until 1998. She most likely had to do research in books in a library. OR, and hear me out, she just took what she knew from folklore, did no research on goblins, and just wrote what she wanted because it’s a fantasy novel. You may be saying ‘that’s irresponsible’, but that was normal back then. Man, the internet really changed everything. Google wasn’t even a juggernaut until 2004 though, so finding information online wasn’t exactly easy. Most writers just wrote a lot more from imagination with much less research, especially for a genre where research isn’t near as necessary, like fantasy.
What about the name Cho Chang? I remember looking up baby names back in the day (as little girls do) and getting sites a normal person made with little animated gifs and midi music playing with a list of names. JK probably did do research, but the internet was different back then. Geocities websites were also wrought with misinformation, but how were we supposed to know?
I don’t have a problem with people criticizing JK. I have a problem with them always espousing ‘she should’ve researched more!’ Like, how was she supposed to know to do that? She wrote for her audience. Young kids in the 90s and early 2000s. And we loved it.
Younger people today need to take a step back and understand that some of the things they are saying is outright ageist. Come up with something else to complain about that doesn’t have to do with the fact that we older people may have done/said insensitive things because we had no way of knowing.

your whole identity reads "im 13 years old"
Oh, fantastic! I've been working tirelessly to cultivate that perfect '13 year old, Tabet Kid' vibe. Wouldn't want to give off the impression of maturity or anything remotely grown-up. Phew, dodged a bullet there!

With all due respect aren't you too old to be going to music festivals?
Holy hell!! I had no idea there was an age limit. I guess I should be locked up and just wait for my impending death then.
Does this mean you think David Guetta, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren should stop creating and should retire and wither away? And Carl Cox turned 60 this year. And what about the Blessed Madonna. She is 45 and considered an icon as well. Is that too old? There are so many more I could name.
While I'm not 20 I am younger than those talented artists.
And have you ever been to an Electric Daisy Carnival? My bro and I have been going off and on since before it moved to Las Vegas. We share a love of EDM and music festivals and now we get to go with the men we love who also share our enjoyment. And the Electric Daisy Carnival is one of the most diverse, inclusive, loving festivals we have ever attended. Everyone is so friendly, accepting and helpful. There were also only 39 arrests for the entire 3 days. There was NO violence. You are free to be who you are there. My brother and bro in law were able to hold hands, dance together and hold each other and nobody said anything or gave dirty looks.
We even saw ravers in their 50s there. There is no age limit to raving.
Its more fun than Coachella. We stopped going a few years back because its basically turned into a vapid Instagram fest and stopped being about the music. For me the last truly wonderful and memorable Coachella was when Prince performed in 2008.
So we may not be 20 anymore but what makes that great is we're old enough to pay for the VIP experience and rent a very comfortable RV to stay in instead of tent camping. And the complimentary breakfast we got after the music ended at 4:30AM gave us the energy to make it back to the RV. And we'll be going to music festivals until our bodies can no longer handle it.
