Why did you choose your URL?

I have gone through a couple different simblr names but, this latest name is a combo of things. I play D&D and I always play chaotic good characters and so that's where the chaotic comes from. And then in classic Simblr fashion I wanted to get Sim into the name and Simlish seemed the best fit for my chaotic name!

Any side blogs? If you have them name them and why you have them!

I have too many (most of which I don't go on anymore)

I have @blmlgbt which is my sideblog for LGBT and BLM resources, I used to have a bunch of Harry Potter sideblogs (but since JK Rowling is a transphobic piece of shit we no longer roll with HP). I have a couple witchy side blogs including @howl-witch which is a very old one I haven't touched in over a year. I have a finds blog which I haven't done in a minute called @pansimicfinds (named after my last name) and @oni-simsfinds (which is where I posted some supernatural stuff at one point)

How long have you been on tumblr?

I've been on tumblr since roughly 2008 so almost as long as Tumblr has been a thing! I was starting high school when I found it.

Do you have a queue tag?

Not really, I usually just queue up the posts and then do an end of the queue post haha

Why did you start your blog in the first place?

I have had several simblrs over the years so this was another attempt at starting fresh at a simblr blog.

Why did you choose your icon/pfp?

My icon is actually one of my founders from a previous legacy challenge, I was just in love with her goofy face

Why did you choose your header?

My header is from the Mt. Komorebi ice festival and I really loved the look of all the colorful lights on the ice sculptures!

What's your post with the most notes?

I really like to do CAS challenges and I did a Simstober challenge last year which had prompts that acted as inspiration for the sim you make. So the post with the most notes I have is my mermaid I did which you can find here. Her prompt was darkness and I just really wanted to do a deep sea mermaid!

How many mutuals do you have?

Um well I follow over 1000 blogs so I have no idea because that's a lot to sort through and count ^^"

How many followers do you have?

838 which is really exciting! I know some of them either are dead blogs or people who haven't been on in forever, but I'm still grateful for each follower ^^

How many people do you follow?

1526 blogs! Not all of them are sims blogs though, I also follow a lot of artists, history related blogs, and people I just found funny

Have you ever made a shitpost?

I've probably made one or two haha though nothing comes immediately to mind though

How often do you use tumblr each day?

Ahhh probably too much, almost any time I have down time at work or at home I'm either on Tumblr, Snapchat, or Tiktok so a lot of time

Did you ever have a fight/argument with another blog? What happened?

Not really, I think the worst time I ever had with another blog was another simblr blocking my old simblr for asking questions about a post they made that was controversial, they didn't like being questioned lol

How do you feel about 'you need to reblog this' posts?

I think it just depends on what it is. I usually try to signal boost anything where people need help or important information I feel like needs to be seen. I'm not usually one for the "reblog this or your love life will suck" kinda posts.

Do you like tag games?

I do! Though I tend to just see tag games, never get tagged, and do them anyway! I have a whole series of "I wasn't tagged in this but fuck it!"

Of course!

Which of your mutuals do you think is tumblr famous?

I have a couple mutuals that stand out in my mind for this (for one reason or another) @amelettes, @m0n0lithical, @simandy, @feralpoodles, @slythersim, @melunn, and many others. If you haven't heard of these lovely people I highly suggest checking them out, they are all fantastic!

Do you have a crush on a mutual?

I used to have a crush on several of my mutuals, I just haven't been around as much so my crushes on mutuals have just turned into glee at seeing them pop up when I do something sim related haha

Fandom(s): oh boy haha this is a loooong list. as of right now, the main fandoms i’m involved in are The Old Guard and Trust FX, but in the past i’ve written for Skam, Marvel, Good Omens, Love Simon/Simon vs., Shameless, and IT. and ofc there are some fandoms i have not written for that i casually enjoy as well.

(and also podfixx made a podfic of this fic which made me INSANELY happy like that is the coolest thing ever)

Most Popular Multi-Chapter (by kudos): I Have Hella Feelings For You (697 kudos) ahhh this one!! this one is actually my very first ever chaptered fic!! it’s a skam fic, and i have the most distinctive memory of me sititng in my dorm bed freshman year of college, furiously typing away at my laptop everyday for a week because i somehow managed to post a chapter every day until it was finished, which meant i was writing a new chapter everyday. like damn, i really peaked with that huh? lmao

Favorite story you’ve written so far: ahh okay not to like. toot my own horn kgfldg but this question is HARD bc i have a lot of favorites. i’m going to pick a favorite from each of my main fandoms i’ve written for because i’m an Indecisive Hoe okay fdjdf.

- From Marvel: Just Called To Say I Love You this one is my wrong number stucky fic and i actually adore this one so much, and also it actually ended up being WAY more popular than i expected it to? like i was lowkey shook by how many people liked it

- From Skam: If You Love Me, If You Hate Me so. about this one. it’s probably my favorite skam fic that i’ve written. but. it also is the utter bane of my existence bc this is the one and only fic i have ever written and posted that i haven’t fnished gskgjfdlfs. it’s going on soon to be a little over 2 years of sitting on my account as an unfinished wip, but i REFUSE to mark it as abandoned bc i really genuienly DO want to finish it, i just havent written for this fandom in a while and inspiration/motivation is tricky yknow? but anyways. this fic is my soccer au!! it was a gift for a secret santa exchange i believe to a dear friend of mine and i still feel awful that i never finished it but. one day!!

- From Love Simon/Simon vs.: Where I Like You Best i am actually obsessed with this one. is that weird to say about your own fic? i enjoy reading a good soulmate au, but writing them has always been SO daunting to me bc i never feel like my ideas are original enough or like things that havent been done a lot for that trope. but for this one!!! omg i found the BEST prompt for it and it fit these characters SO well and i wrote it and i ended up absolutely loving how it turned out, and i was so proud of myself for writing a pretty successful soulmate au.

- From Shameless: Wooden Floors, Walls, and Window Sills so this one was my second ever gallavich fic, and it’s probably my favorite because i think it’s the best characterization i got of them in all of my fics, and good characterization is one of the most important things to me when i write fic.

- From IT: To What We Might Do is my favorite reddie fic i’ve written! i definitely projected onto richie a teeny tiny bit in it for some parts lmfao, but yeah idk i just love how this one turned out a whole lot, and i enjoyed how i ended it too (esp since endings can be very difficult for me lol). ((BUT also a special shoutout to my fic Imagine Me and You, I Do bc that one is just pure fluff and i adore the concept of someone being just so absolutely in love with someone doing something so incredibly simple and it just rocks their world)

- From Good Omens: I Want To Know What Love Is (did i use the most cheesy title ever? absolutely. do i love it? absolutely.) anyways this fic is one where crowley the demon experiences love and promptly thinks he’s dying.

Fic you were nervous to post: ooh, i mean i’m always pretty anxious about any fic i post because i never know if it’s going to be recepted well or if people are going to like it or hate it or if anyone is even going to read it or repsond to it. especially if the fic is a gift for someone, because i just really want that person to like it yknow? but yeah idk if theres one in particular i was more nervous to post than any others... i guess maybe any smut fic? just bc i never know if the smut is even any good lol

How do you choose your titles?: eaaaaasy, i usually pick song lyrics lol, ocassionally i’ve used lines from a poem, and a few times i’ve gone with a pun, but mostly it’s song lyrics. i usually find a song with lyrics that i think will fit, or if there’s a particular song that vibes well with the fic or that i listened to repeatedly while writing the fic i’ll try to pick the best lyric from that one.

Do you outline?: yes and no lol. it honestly depends. sometimes i outline extensively, but other times i just sit in front of a doc and let whatever happens happen.

Complete: on my ao3 account i have 80 works completed (will be 81 once i finally finish that one single unfinished wip i have posted gahhh). but i know in my wips folder i have a at least one finished fic that i have not and probably will not post. there are also some other things in my wips folder that like technically could be conisdered finished too, but it’s not up to my posting standards so until i fix it so it is it’ll just sit there lol.

In-Progress: honestly there are too many to count lol. i have a shiiiiiit ton of wips (as yall will know if you saw that one ‘tell us about ALL your wips’ tag game post that was going around that i did lol).

Coming soon/not yet started: tbh see above answer bc it’s pretty much the same lol.

Prompts?: so the thing about prompts is that i would LOVE to take them, but it’s very very tricky bc i’m a super specific kind of gal and if i don’t vibe with the prompt it’s very difficult for me to write anything for it. but then there’s also the fact that inspiration/motivation are fickle bitches and they come and go as they please and so taking prompts is hard bc i never know if the stars will align and all that jazz for me to be in the ~ right mood ~ to work on a prompt. this is the exact reason why i have SO MANY sitting in my inbox right now, and i feel so bad for just letting them sit there but ughhh brain function?? how?? lol

Upcoming work you’re most excited about: sooooo i don’t necessarily have any specific works in progress right now (i’ve been so busy lately that writing has been the last thing on my mind and so i haven’t touched anything in weeks) but. i guess if i can ever get my shit together and finish the primo fic i’m close to finishing i’m pretty excited to post that! or honestly if i can actually get myself to finish any of the tog wips i have i’d be suuuper excited to post any of those bc i have not yet posted any tog fics!!

Omg you've seen a.c.e in concert??? I'm so jealous!!! I've only recently discovered them and I'm sort of in love with Jun. Who's your fave member? They're all such dorks!!! Have you see their new part change video where they're dressed in halloween costumes while they dance?

Hahaha I occasionally post about my cats on my Tumblr so revealing their names might give me away. 😉

I'm also very bad at picking favourites in The Untamed. There are just so many contenders!! But I think lwj and wwx might be at the very top for me. I think I relate a lot to lwj too! I'm usually silent and seem closed off and unemotional until people know me. When I was younger, people have called me expressionless or commented on how I never smiled. And I relate to having grown up with strict rules and struggling to figure out how to navigate the world when you realise that those rules don't work.

I do agree with you about how xue yang might have turned out if he'd had more sympathy and compassion shown to him as a child. I do pity xue yang's, jiggy's and su she's circumstances for the same reason although I could never forgive their actions.

What are your favourite tropes, situations and scenes to read fanfiction about? I really enjoy canon compliant getting together fics, and friends to lovers, and YEARNING (and a lot more but these are the ones I seem to end up reading most). Oh and anything where the female characters get to survive, kick ass and live happily ever after.

oh yeah we all went last year on my dad’s birthday, so it was almost a year ago exactly now, wow, time 🛫 they’re such good dancers and seem rly sweet too :(( i can totally see how you’d fall in love w/ jun; he kind of closed his fingers around everyone’s hands in the hi-touch for a moment instead of just doing a brisk high five 🤧

yeah i’m not at all a forgiving or even trusting person when it comes to real life, but that’s part of the fun of immersing yourself in fiction, heh. mdzs rly is fascinating in how it explores morality~ for some reason jgy and ss don’t break my heart like xy does tho... like i see where they’re coming from, but i don’t feel for them as much? maybe bc they were like twice as old as him when the main bad shit happened to them, idk. xy just feels like a misguided kid who never grew up and learned right from wrong, whereas the others... they feel a bit less childlike and a bit more sinister i guess, lol. i would never condone xy’s behavior tho, as least not with any more seriousness than when whx does so, lmao. it’s low-key kinda fun to jokingly excuse it tho 🙃

so far i’ve only read soft xuexiao fics pls don’t judge me ahhh let me think, back when i used to read a lot of finnpoe fics… i think fluff, mutual pining, coffee shop aus, things like that? for mdzs, i’m just looking for fluff dude, pls, the canon has enough angst alskdf. give me fix-its and aus and reincarnation; i need it !!! while reading the novel, i’m also kind of wishing we got a twilight-style parallel book where it’s just mdzs from lwj’s perspective, so i might look into reading some things from his pov if the novel doesn’t satisfy my curiosity~ all the things you mentioned are rly good too!! i haven’t read any with the ladies yet; do you have any recs? 👉👈

Hobbies: Ahh, this is tough. I suffer from anhedonia badly, so while before I would have said writing, nothing really catches my interest anymore. Does sleeping count? Probably not.. hm. Dragon Age stuff?

Favorite color: Pastel pink! Funny story about this - I grew up in such a weird household that for literal years I was afraid to say I liked the color pink because it was a ‘girly’ color, and I’d been told my whole life that since I grew up in the country I shouldn’t be super girly. Admitting I liked pink was legitimately more stressful to me than admitting I was pansexual

Last Movie I watched: Ahhh I don’t watch movies very often at all ggfhd I think the last one I watched was Bandersnatch? That was months ago, wow

Favorite Book: Oh, this is hard, as I haven’t read in a very long time for various reasons. Prooobably.. the Grisha Trilogy? I can’t remember the separate books themselves, but I fell in love with that universe and it’s the first thing that came to mind

Dream Job: A translator! I love languages. I thought I was set on the path towards this for a little while, but my entire support system has veto’d this so things are up in the air rn ahahahai’mterrified

Oh man, I'm just imagining that there's so many close brushes with kiribaku almost realizing or almost being in positions to find out that the other is a vigilante-- an injury and no way to get into contact with Jack or Mina-- a rainstorm washing Kiri's dye away on the job. I think it'd be especially funny if he thought for a minute that Kiri was bleeding but then Kiri is like "UH GOTTA GO ITS NOT BLOOD" and he realizes it's red hair dye

Oh Kirishima sort of already suspects it’s Bakugou - more or less? He’s in the process of starting to suspect it, at least lol for being someone who really doesn’t want to be found out Bakugou’s more carefree in his disguise than Kirishima is (his hair is a pretty obvious giveaway, for example, thought Bakugou relies a lot on the ‘attacking and running’ strategy, so in his mind all he gotta do is just not be seen by anyone at all lol) compared to Kiri he gets bruised and beaten up way more too (Kiri’s hardening makes it easy for him to avoid that in general) - Kiri’s noticing Bakugou’s bruises and his vigilante friend’s bruises match up a whole damn lot, so he’s starting to figure that one out

Bakugou’s a dumbass tho (read: he doesn’t really look at people he isn’t particularly interested in) so for him it’s gonna take a while haha

They’re best friends, and sometimes when your best friend is going through a real rough heartbreak and he’s in literal tears over it, you might be nice enough to offer your back for him to hide his face in and let him pretend he isn’t currently breaking down on you. Sometimes, you like a person in a platonic way enough to emotionally support them as best as you can when they’re at their lowest. It. Sort of happens between best friends, now and again. You don’t really need to want in someone’s pants to care about them.

They live together cause they started working together as vigilantes when they were in high school, and once they moved up to college they found it a good idea to have someone back home who knew about what they were doing to treat eventual wounds, since they can’t go to the hospital! Also the rent is cheaper this way

Now every time I think about drawing for it those people come back up in my head and I get annoyed all over again, it’s no fun

Are we talking about a specific AU or is this meant for the canon universe? Well, either way I’d say he’d be pretty hurt, but it’s not like he can force Kirishima to like him can he. Ah, in the vigilantes AU he’d probably think it’s for the best even if he’d hurt a lot over it, but in canon and most other AUs I like to think he’d try to fix it somehow? Unless he has other reasons to not act on his feelings for Kirishima… gosh this is a vague question, there are so many possibilities really!

When he’s not doing vigilantes work it’s actually hidden by the hair, so Bakugou never noticed! But if he were to notice he’d probably mark it down as a Kiri thing and leave it at that, as I said he’s not the most observant when he’s not particularly interested in someone so he hasn’t really registered it on Red’s face anyway haha

Carol_Pau: Thank you for your kind review! I’m not usually one for romance movies myself, but Pride and Prejudice really stood out to me. I totally agree it’s fantastic! And ahhh, I’m so happy you enjoyed Lance’s tears, haha. feel like Lance would be the type of person who would cry during movies, because he’s just so open about his emotions, even when he tries not to be. As far as other ships, some might come into play. Zonerva (Zarkon/Honerva) will definitely affect the plot going forward. But that’s about the only ship that I can really guarantee at this point. I can guarantee that James Griffin will at least appear in TSL. Thanks again for reviewing!

I just hope no one else ever has to deal with that! The whole event still leaves me in a state of loss and awe, especially over a story that was going to end in slave!Allura taking down Zarkon’s empire and turning Lotor to her side? (I figured I could spoil it for you here, since you mentioned interest in it, and spoilers just don’t matter anymore, haha.) But regardless, I will not let the past year keep me from enjoying writing, or from interacting with you all. I very much appreciate your reviews and support through these chapters for TSL. I’ll admit, I have days where it’s really hard for me interact with VLD content or think about writing Allura. I had a lot of chats with some professionals about the harassment experience and whether I handled the accusations correctly. I think in the end, I feel good about how I responded with taking down the story in question, as a sign of good faith that I’m not trying to hurt or trigger anyone. I just wish they would have seen the story in its full to understand it had a nuanced plot ultimately moving toward an empowered Allura and eye-opened Lotor. But, oh well. Thank you again for caring about my well-being, even at the expense of possibly losing a story! In good news, I don’t imagine I’ll be deleting TSL anytime soon! Lotor is definitely a trooper in this story for putting up with all that he does, haha. And yes, I fully believe Lance could cry in front of the other paladins, and they’d understand! I really do love Allura, and I think the canon series didn’t give her a chance to actively reflect on the avalanche that was s6. I think it would have been natural for her to have conflicted feelings for Lotor, even in knowing what he had done. I think in a better world, Allura would have understood the political implications of killing an emperor in secret—and would have wanted a guilty!Lotor to pay for his crimes the right and open way, through a court trial before the universe. That’s the Allura I was trying to channel in chapter 1, and I’m so glad you enjoyed her conflict and her ultimate decision! And for as much as a lot of people rag on Lance, I really like that boy. I think he’s precious for a lot of reasons, haha. XD Regarding Lotor, I really try to portray stories of abuse in a serious manner, because I know so often it’s not treated that way, and in doing so hurts people. My Opinion on;

Character in general: I. unfortunately don’t know too much about Sil. I’ve read some lore about him thanks to a few friends in the rpc and on Discord. Over all, he seems like a pretty grade A+ character though. I’m all about reclusive god-tier characters with the social aptitude of a tree stump. How they play them: From what I’ve read of their writing, they are 👌🔥😩 just. superb. omg. I absolutely adore his wit, and his sass game go so hard.The Mun: I’ve known Krys for what feels like eons at this point. Over a decade ago. I met them on a virtual pet site in my early teens, and we’ve been friends ever since. Some of my favorite memories include the two of us raving about Star Fox together and communicating in Saurian. And of course all of the shenanigans between us and all of our original characters. I just love them so much, and they’ve always been a great friend to me. I’m so glad that I convinced them to join the Tumblr rpc, and that we’ve been able to stay in touch for so many years. Y’ALL SHOULD DEFINITELY BECOME FRIENDS WITH THEM IF YOU HAVEN’T ALREADY OK.

my friends got me on a dgs2 high recently, and it got me thinking a lot about Iris Watson

(major, MAJOR dgs2 spoilers, right up to endgame)

iris’s relation to her real parents wasn’t really a “big deal” in the grand scheme of things, and i’m okay with that.

despite this tumblr’s URL being her, i struggled with iris’s place in the narrative for a long time. while i adore iris a whole lot, and her familial bond with sherlock makes me cry for a million years, her place in the narrative was a complicated subject for me. her relationship with klimt felt a bit like an afterthought, answered at the end of the story. i didn’t know if it was “wasted potential” or not.

but, recently, as i went home one day after discussing the game and its writing with my friends, i finally have an answer. and yeah, i’m sure there’s people who won’t agree with me, but iris’s story is fine. heck, i love it, now that i’m given time to think.

- to me, iris’s involvement in the story is more character-driven; rather than providing us The Clue to solve the conspiracy, we would instead watch her develop as the story goes on and we jump headfirst into the swirling darkness of the conspiracy.

in the first game, we spent the first case solving her presumed father’s murder. when ryuu and susato go to london, they meet iris, who claims to be john watson’s daughter. we get an “Oh, Shit” moment as we now struggle to consider whether we should tell her about her father’s demise. during her conversation at the attic with gina, ryuu and susato, she expresses that she misses her father, even when gina expresses her grievances regarding parents.

in the second game, we get in depth about the mystery, and how iris feels about her missing father. we learn how desperate she was to find out who her father is, even going so far as to have stolen government documents just to learn her father’s name. she is crushed to learn that not only is john watson just a nobody to her, the man who wrote the manuscript for sherlock’s cases wasn’t her father either.

it’s important that we got the scene in the middle of chapter 5 where iris feels a bit sad that she wasn’t yuujin’s daughter (as that would’ve made her susato’s sister), showing how she is still yearning for that biological connection. after susato and ryuu tell her that they’re perfectly fine in being her siblings despite having no blood relation, that’s when she starts to change her mind.

plus, with this exchange, we get an astonishingly heartwarming scene about the baker street family’s bond, even though only two of them are tied by blood. (”ryuu: i’ve got the strongest family backing me, after all” “me: my eyes are sweating”)

and in the end, we see that iris, who has certainly watched how the trial went down while having tea with Queen Victoria (lol), finally decided to stop trying to look for her biological father. she stops yearning for someone who most likely isn’t coming for her, someone who may not be the good father she may have imagined him to be... because she has sherlock, an amazing father who has been by her side this whole time, even if he may be eccentric and flawed.

- (insert me crying for years)

- when iris has her talk about seeing sherlock as her father, she says how she’s caused so much trouble for everyone during her quest to find her father. and it’s true - in the first game, gina goes to the pawn shop to look for the manuscript and gets arrested for murder, while sherlock gets shot; and in the second game, she stole the document about klimt’s autopsy report, which is just?? a bad thing to do??? daughter no

speaking of that, i really appreciate that moment because it’s iris acting out of a strong desire to connect with her father. i’m so glad that it’s plot relevant that susato and ryuu gain access to the document (which also reveals who sherlock’s partner really is), and also a character moment of a sad little girl who’s desperate enough to commit a crime. it kind of reminds me of pearl fey in 3-5, when she does That Bad Thing for a “good” reason? yeah

- i also think that iris serves as another person linked to the overarching theme of “Family” in the dgs series.

we have asougi & genshin, susato & yuujin, barok & klimt. except for ryuu, who is the lens we see this story through, the core cast has a family member, and we seen how... troubling these relationships are.

genshin and klimt’s deaths, as well as their actions before those deaths, have haunted asougi and barok for many years. we also know that susato and yuujin has a rocky relationship, due to how he straight up left the family after susato’s mother passed away. genshin, klimt and mikotoba aren’t 100% good people - and klimt is a heck of an understatement - and it’s caused varying degrees of emotional harm to the younger ones.

i suppose the only one who doesn’t have that is sherlock. he is, instead, linked to iris as her adoptive father. and it makes for a powerful scene when iris, one of the people haunted by the idea of “biological family”, calls him her “papa”. he is genuinely touched by that, considering her gratitude to be the most moving of all, compared to the many thanks he received from people he met in the past.

also sherlock is dadlock and i love the baker street family so much

on a lesser note is gina & gregson. in the first game, gina comes from a lonely past, jaded by how her parents abandoned her. in the second, she goes under the wing of gregson, who is yet another person who has committed numerous atrocities, but is well-meaning in general. in a way, gregson is an unstated father figure for her, and even if he may be bad, he still contributes to her growth. basically gina & gregson also make me cry a lot

to conclude this point, the “found family” narrative is one we see time after time in many stories, but the way DGS expresses this is wonderful.

- another thing is that, the reveal that klimt was iris’s father, felt less like a reveal, and more like the answer to “why hasn’t sherlock and yuujin told iris about her father, despite knowing who he is?”. for me, when i got to the reveal, my reaction was “ahhh, so that’s why they didn’t want iris to know!”

it’s also precious characterization for Klimt van Zieks, the man who committed crime after crime because he felt despair towards the darkness of london’s evils. klimt refused to tell barok about his unborn child, instead trusting this secret to genshin and asking him to help his family. klimt didn’t want iris to be raised in the van zieks household, and then known forever as the professor’s daughter, in case the true identity of the professor is revealed.

it shows that he may have strayed from the path of justice, it also shows that he still loves his family despite everything. after all, vortex managed to blackmail klimt by threatening to harm his wife.

if the dgs games were localized, i have a feeling we’d get so much discourse about klimt, lmao. but to me, it’s nuanced character writing. and if you know me, you know how much i love my flawed characters. klimt is a murderer, and don’t get me wrong, let’s not excuse his crimes, but he feels very human. and this is something we can explore in fiction. klimt van zieks is a tragedy, a good man who faced evil with justice and became the villain in the end.

- in a way, it’s also characterization for sherlock and yuujin, the latter to a lesser degree. they didn’t want iris to find out who her father is at her young age, because they were worried that they’d find out about the atrocities her father committed in the past.

they never intended to let iris know the name of her father, either - it’s only through her discovery that she found the document signed by john watson. at that point, sherlock had to go along with the lie, because to him, that’s better than telling the truth about her murderer of a father, and let her shoulder that truth for the rest of her childhood. he cares about iris, as cruel as his actions may be.

of course, lying to a little girl and letting her believe that her father is a complete stranger isn’t GOOD. but like i said, it feels nuanced, that our good lovable cast is very much imperfect. imo sherlock holmes is Good when you show how hecked up he is as a human being alongside how good he is as the famous detective

- “but john watson WAS involved in the professor case!” the imaginary person in my head says. “iris could still be his daughter, and it could still keep the idea that iris’s parentage would be problematic to the public.”

this is coming from a place of hindsight and being able to see the big picture as a player, but, like. between one of the few people centrally involved in concealing the truth of the the professor’s crimes... and THE guy, the person who committed said heinous crimes? the man who, in this particular narrative, is much more important to learn more about? i’d give the characterization to klimt every day of the week, no question.

and maybe it’s because i don’t have as much of an emotional connection to the sherlock holmes canon, but i don’t really mind that the man named John H. Watson wasn’t as important in the narrative as takumi’s original characters. just because takumi wanted to write sherlock holmes fanfiction, doesn’t mean he has to completely rely on the characters and conventions of sherlock’s stories, i feel?

i mean, we have Mikotoba Yuujin. just because the guy named john watson isn’t the man we know and love in THIS story, doesn’t mean our “sherlock” and our “watson” isn’t still there. i’m okay with takumi and the writing team twisting sherlock canon to fit their narrative. and besides, i’m going to be vague because spoilers, but it’s not as if certain TV shows adapting sherlock holmes haven’t changed the characters to fit their own narratives.

it’s funny to say this, but after writing all that, i feel like i have much more of an appreciation for iris watson’s story, and dgs’s narrative in general. it’s such a good game, and i’m so glad i got to experience this story myself.

yes, english :3. it's funny my country is literally known for its diversity & endless languages (and it flexes about it too lmao) but in reality does nothing to help in/encourage learning other languages. hindi & eng are the only languages schools teach & 3rd one depends on what state you live in. minority languages are not even in options.

I traveled to the more touristy areas of Europe because I’ve never been to Europe, but I really wanna just take a backpacking trip around one day. I have been to Taiwan a few times! It’s been a while though. Most of my mom’s side of the family is back there, but my dad’s side of the family is in the US. I have a younger sister! Haha I know what you mean about being asked where you’re from though. When I was abroad I’d get asked where I’m from and I’d say the US, but then one person was like “but where are you REALLY from”. Honestly I also feel pretty out of touch with Taiwanese culture even though I have some habits. I really feel American

It was only Myung in the Winter Olympics one! It’s understandable though, there were so many groups in the summer competition one and Infinite was a little neglected imo. But they still managed to get me with hamster gyu and like 5 seconds of Destiny lol. Actually MBLAQ was in this ep too! Lee Joon and Kwangsoo make the most amazing combo ever omg. I def miss the name tag eliminations though. They hardly do them anymore. I really liked the time period when they did creative versions of the game.

Ohhhh I think I’ve heard of MBLAQ Goes to School. I should look into it haha. I’m always up for a laugh. Sesame player was amazing. Lol and those pranks XD I remember (I think it was Dongwoo) was like “when did this become a prank house” after that salt prank and I’m like lol only infinite. Can’t even safely eat food in their own home. These dorks.

Ahhh tell me was so good. I like Infinie’s old style of music but I like this kind of softer edm music too. It’s like the stuff I usually like to listen to lol. Idk if that was a good description of the song but that’s kinda how I see it lol. And Sunggyu and Dongwoo were so good that comeback. Like that second verse was a Donggyu attack. I don’t know if I have a favorite concept from them really? They kind of have everything for every mood. But I have a running play list of their upbeat music.

The stuff like Julia, Amazing, Lately, etc. I keep that playlist around when I’m having a hard time studying and stuff. It brightens my mood. As for english songs I kinda just….turn on the radio and find something I like haha. I don’t really have a preference with those. Ahhh I feel like I did a really bad job of getting to know you, I always just talk about myself haha. Tell me 5 random things that make you like or make you happy that you haven’t talked about!

Oh my goodness, I’m so sorry for taking forever and an age to reply back to you!!! I’m so sorry, and I don’t even have a good excuse like being busy with work, it’s just honest to goodness pure laziness on my part and not going on my laptop for forever. I hope you haven’t forgotten me and that you’ll reveal yourself!!

I hope you haven’t gotten busy again (you’re graduating this year right?). What are you focusing on in biotech? And I think you may be right about my professor meaning bioinformatics… I vaguely remember that term ^^;

You’ve certainly hopped around during your university years ^^ What countries did you visit in Europe? My parents surprised me by sending me to the UK for 2 weeks after my exams to join my sister there… It was amazing and I’ve always wanted to go there, but we ran out of time to hit everything we wanted to do. We couldn’t go to Ireland, which was my biggest disappointment. What is your most favourite memory from exchange? And what place did you like best?

I actually feel like a complete stranger… I don’t feel Canadian, Singaporean or Indian. I don’t really fit in any place completely, I’m a bit too traditional in Canada, too modern in India and Singapore… Well, I’m not exposed to the culture at all really. Funny thing… Singapore used to be not as well known when I was younger and I remember a kid trying to convince me it was part of the US. Even now, some people think it’s in India. The funniest is actually when I met Chinese international students, so many think that Singapore has only people of Chinese descent. When I explained that my dad’s family is from there and my mother from India, they thought my dad was Chinese.

What’s this whole City of Angels/Laser thing? I’ve seen mention of it, but I don’t get it… Did Sunggyu think the song was called Laser? (This shows up much I keep up with them, except for their music ^^;). You must have heard the album by now… So what’s your favourite? (Also, I didn’t know Sunggyu wrote that… Good to know and it makes me love it even more!)

Um… I think I started giffing around 2013 ish? Then I stopped while in uni, in fact my blog was basically inactive, and only just recently started fooling around on Photoshop again. I was quite atrocious in the beginning and am much fonder of my new stuff. But… I’m also quite lazy so I tend to not gif as much as I want to.

I 100% recommend MBLAQ goes to school. Joon and Mir are such jokesters. Sesame Player is still my favourite variety show to watch, all that screaming and backstabbing… And Sungyeol? He’s just too awesome. I would never have thought of injecting vinegar into bananas the way he did, that was a true genius move. Myungsoo’s, that was predictable, but that banana prank was just first class.

Do you prefer their upbeat songs more or is that just better to run to? My favourite upbeat song is Cover Girl… Have you heard the concert version where Sungyeol raps? I wish he would get a chance to do that in their songs, I think he raps pretty well.

I think we got to know each other pretty well? In fact, I too often think I wrote too much about myself.

5 things I like/make me happy… Hmm…

1. Being with my family - yes, we fight a lot, but we’re also really close and really stupid… My mother is crazy, my father is bullied… They’re what I missed most in uni.

2. I love airports/airplanes! As a child, I used to wish I could live in one ^^

3. Good books and movies… I love reading, but it’s so rare for me to find writing and plot that suits my taste. When I do, I devour the author’s entire works.

4. This is dorky… But I love learning ^^ Maybe it has to do with feeling smart? I love watching Jeopardy, especially if I get the answers right, but also to learn new facts.

5. I love puns… I quite literally cry with laughing over some of them.

Also, last post, but I saw your rant and I hope you’re feeling better :( I get the being introverted thing too. I’m pretty reserved and I like my alone time–there’s nothing wrong with it! I’m sorry you had to listen to all of it TT Please be happy!

What is your favorite, weird comfort quirk?

I like holding stuff in my palm? Sometimes, I hold paper napkin, menthol salt or keys for hours.

I keep textbook under my pillow the night before exams.

I will dress extra nice when I need my luck. I won’t go to final exams or do final presentations look like death. I believe lady luck prefers me look nice XD

I rather like my both my given name and nickname! Both are quite unique <3 I wouldn’t change it but if it were too hard for a foreigner to pronounce then… might choose something similar. Nachisa for Japanese and Natasha for Western folks?

What is the dumbest way you’ve been injured?

LOTS…. ohhh I recalled 2 and both almost killed me. I can’t decide which is the dumbest though…

On my 6th year-old birthday, my older sister, cousins and I were having a party. After cake we decided to play a game. I don’t know what it’s called in English but the game is a lot like tag but ‘it’ has their eyes tied by a piece of cloth. I was a ‘it’ in that round. I heard some noise from one side so I lunged there…. only to find out that the door wasn’t closed and I fell down to the bottom of stairs. Ughh it hurt so bad :(

I can’t remember how old I was in this one but still very young. We’re in a pool and my sister teased me until I got really flustered and mad. I stepped out of the pool and out of my floating ring. I was going to throw the floating ring at my sister out of sheer madness but my body passed through the ring like a fucking dolphin and fell into the pool instead. I can’t swim…. my sister also can’t swim…. luckily, one of my older cousin was there to save my sorry ass.

Ever cried of happiness? Care to share?

Can’t recall any …. why I’m like this lol I rarely got that emotional… I might had cried one time that I remember how lucky I am to be me, surrounded with lovely family and people.

Who’s your hero, fictional or otherwise?

Dobby and Hagrid. They’re underrated characters but got a really big and kind heart.

I really love Hargrid from the start. He’s big and clumsy but really kind. He cried and wanted to say goodbye to a baby that he didn’t even know. What broke my heart is the last book when he thought Harry was dead though.

The only death that made me cried like a baby is Dobby’s death. I shredded few tears for other characters but Dobby’s hit me the most. He always try to help Harry. He really did in the end. *sobs*
