funny enough this one also very much reminds me of my favorite poet giggle the rhythm of the words and especially the parentheses asides, though I wonder if it may just also be a modern+queer poetry thing, like assumedly similar (queer and/or specifically queer American) cultural influences and while v technically speaking I don't know for sure, I'm going to jump to the assumption that this poetry is perhaps the teeniest tiniest bit queer 🤏 but knowing the way lots of modern queer poetry is written and writing good poetry are two separate things and ur definitely the latter

also makes me realize that ur writing all these poems for me and you probably don't even know my face, which is crazy to me that u saw the way I present myself on Tumblr (not that I'm Trying to present myself a specific way, more so that I don't post about myself much I suppose) and thought I was worth writing poems for, just based on the very limited anecdotes I make on posts or in tags

and another anecdote about my vision (I could honestly just go on and on and on bc I find vision in general pretty interesting): since ive had glasses since I was 3 or 4 I didn't quite realize just how bad my eyes are compared to ppl who don't need glasses until last year. like I had no frame of practical reference how other people see until a lab activity where we had to test our vision in different ways and I decided to do it without my glasses for funsies. I learned very quickly that without my glasses my depth perception is jack shit, which explains why I always have trouble with walls in the middle of the night, and I also realized how badly nearsighted I am without my glasses too. like yk the letter charts? well most ppl when standing 20 ft from it can read the 20/20 vision line (normal vision acuity), I could only read the 20/100 line with complete accuracy, which means i can see at 20 feet away what most people can see at 100 feet. and I was doing those tests with a bunch of my friends around so for the next like 3 weeks they kept bringing up how bad my eyes are, especially my very much lacking depth perception 💀 and the worst part is the depth perception test I mostly just guessed and hoped bc i couldnt really tell so its probably worse than that test showed. oh and I realized how bad/annoying my astigmatism is during this Christmas break bc we went to Austin and there are so many more cars there and I realized I could never drive at night in a big ish city bc the headlights would just be too much 😭

i am having. so many thoughts about the lessons quackity stream (is that its official name? idk). all in regards to c!purpled’s involvement, of course, but that’s a given. i wanna dissect things a bit more.

the whole point of the episode isn't that quackity is teaching slime lessons. it's that quackity is the one being taught. he thinks he has everything figured out, and is trying to impose his knowledge and superiority in an attempt to assure himself that he is fit for this role, and that he has things under control. time and time again, though, he's made to face the fact that he isn't the wise teacher he wants to be. his ideologies are flawed. he doesn't have the answers to everything. he's just preaching what he's been taught, perpetuating a cycle, without ever really trying to break it.

i see a lot of people saying that purpled should've kept it between him and quackity. and that brings me into two points: quackity being the one taught the lesson, and the overall point of the stream itself.

first of all, let's just say that purpled did keep it between himself and quackity, and killed quackity in that trap. the point of the stream falls apart. quackity doesn't learn anything other than the fact that purpled 1. is a skilled killer (something he already knew) and 2. hates his guts. there's no feeling of loss. of grief. of learning the impact his actions have actually had. quackity doesn't value his life as much as he values his legacy, which at that point, was slime. if he had died then, and not slime, his character would stay static. he'd be right where he started, with a gained hatred for a certain extraterrestrial, but that's it. there's no character development. there's no change.

second of all, the point of the stream was to highlight the cycle of violence on the server. purpled doesn't do anything he hasn't been taught. all of his actions directly parallel quackity's teachings. the point is that all of quackity's actions are reflected back at him in the ultimate cosmic revenge. should purpled have kept it between himself and quackity and not killed slime? yeah, probably. but quackity should've kept it between himself and kinoko kingdom/lmanberg and not blown up purpled's ufo. the cycle is continued. if purpled hadn't, if he'd kept to himself, the point would fall apart. by saying purpled should've kept it between quackity and himself, you are inherently missing the entire point. he couldn't have, because that's not how the server's run. he couldn't have, because that's not what quackity taught him. he coudln't have, because there is no other way their characters could progress in the way they have.

Katsuki Bakugou:

He’s kinda a dickwad at first

He just doesn’t understand why a bunch of extras is scary

You’ll be perfectly fine one moment than he’ll ask you to get the food and you'll be next to tears

Like “strangers??? Bad??? No??”

He really doesn’t understand, tells you to quote unquote “get over yourself” and he thinks that is that

Later on he’ll realise he is wrong

Like you gripping his sleeve in the hallway

You panicking over a presentation over every little thing

Social events you’ll be standing in a corner nervously fiddling with a necklace or a bracelet

Birthday parties are extremely small and limited to close friends and family

Sometimes you’ll mumble your insecurities and worries before after and during events

He does pick up on these eventually and realise that “oh shit it’s an actual problem that deeply affects them”

It’s 3am and he is knocking on your window so he can apologize and you guys can talk it out

From then on he is better about it but is still trying

He is a introvert that dislikes ppl so he loves dates where all you do is lay around the house just talking and cuddling

That’s how all of your dates until now have been- just you two.

When you finally go on a date outside he’s surprised by how anxious you are

Stammering and flushing with the cashier, arms shaky

Gripping his arm and not his hand because your palms are sweaty

Legs and knees trembling, steps unsteady

After an hour of this behavior he promptly says “fuck it” and drags you back home

He says he can wait longer for an outside date and not to rush it

Down the line where you’re comfortable enough around him to where the anxiety smoothes out a bit

You have an outside date and he distracts you from everyone and everything so you can have fun

He is the best at handling social anxiety but that doesn’t say much💀

Three favourite foods: Im gonna go very specific on this one haha, currently its Marie Calendars Dutch Apple Pie, Portos Bakery's Medianoche sandwich, Taco Bells Quesalupa especially (but not exclusively) the black bean one.

Last song I listened to: Cornerstone - Arctic Monkeys. I picked up my guitar yesterday and relearned a bunch of songs I had forgotten because it had been (what felt like) years since i practiced.

Dream Trip: like DREAM dream trip? It would be almost like a year long thing. 2 weeks in Japan. 2 weeks in Korea and so on in Thailand, India, South Africa, North Africa, Ireland, Brazil, New Zealand, Mexico, and a week or so in Canada. To really take in the culture of the places. A regular weekend never feels like enough and this way i could find the small places that dont get much attention by weekend visitors and show them some love.

Anything I really want: Currently, just more time. It neever feels like theres enough of it.

Time: It is 9:55 A.M. and 68° here is Los Angeles and im hoping to that it doesnt make it past 80 but its spring ssooooo, fuck the heat.

Last Movie: First Wives Club haha cus they're sisters and theyre doing it for themselves.

Last Show: Community. I need something to giggle at but could also tune in and out of. The last Show i finished, though, was Lovecraft County and that show was SSOO good.

Currently reading: Delusions of Gender by Cordelia Fine. Im only a couple dozen pages in but shes talked a lot about how it was hard to really test or study gender traits because people will act on them unintentionally because they're so ingrained in most of us, but with other tests, people will naturally adapt to things outside of their "gender norm."

Currently watching: Time slip away from my fingers. Haha jk. Nothing specific right now, but i have a list and should probably get back to it.

YESSS ANIMALS AND PLANTS AND PRETTY THINGS IS LIKE MY MAIN PURPOSE W MODS ok heres a list w links and brief descriptions so u kinda know whats going on <3 ill kind of categorise them too... 

some laptops seem way better than others at handling mods but i would say just pick and choose ur absolute favorites and if thats too much for it then take one out until its more manageable! my laptop handled mods very well but i dont think i had THIS many on it hadflkjghdfkjlghndklfjhg

animals:

ice and fire adds dragons and TONS of like fantasy animals and some scary mobs too!!! u can tame most of the animals and theyre all very unique and SUPER cool! u can ride some of them, theyll fight for u, etc... its very configurable like u can change spawn rates and stuff, i personally turned dragons WAY down so theyre very rare to come across, bc they kill u like instantly and also cause a ton of lag if theres a lot at once, and theyre default spawn rates are ummm too high lol. but yah this is one of the best mods i think ever probably...i love it sm its like a classic

better animal models makes vanilla animals look cuter and better and better animals plus (by the same ppl) adds a bunch of other animals that are rly cute! a lot of them are tameable and theyre very well thought out

genetic animals adds a bunch of dif breeds + colors and new breeding and feeding mechanics to farm animals, its kind of new but very well done but i really really love it! if you use it in conjuncture with better animal models, it replaces to vanilla farm animals but not the wolves and foxes and stuff, so they work very well together. also the chicken babies are like incredibly teeny tiny and adorable. and it lets you be able to ride llamas and cows with saddles and bridles... i could go on (this mod is what i use in place of animania, my favorite mod ever, but that one hasnt updated past 1.12)

alexs mobs also just adds a bunch of new animals, almost all of these are tameable and very unique, i LOVE that it adds crows lol you can also ride some of these animals once u tame them... u can also configure spawn rates for these if theres ones you dont want or want more of, etc. they update pretty often with new animals as well

realistic horse genetics is a super well done mod that makes horses come in wayyyyy more colors, it also has them come in different sizes and stuff...basically what it says in the name but its like. INCREDIBLY well done i couldnt live without it lol

exotic birds adds a ton of pretty birds! it also adds a rare phoenix you can obtain and tame, and ride, which is cool! you can keep birds in birdcages breed them and incubate eggs and all kinds of stuff

making stuff pretty:

biomes o plenty is super popular and really awesome, adds a tonnnn of new biomes with their own trees and wood types and plants and stuff! theres also some cool rare biomes (this mod also works well with all the animal mods); and some other biome mods i kinda cycle between are terraforged (also makes terrain generate better, smoother and stuff and super configurable! this works alongside mods that add biomes) and traverse is good too

macaws roofs, doors, windows, furniture, fences, etc are good for making ur houses pretty! i havent done much w this yet bc i havent built a house since i got it, but it looks really nice

diagonal fences does what it says on the can its suuper convenient and i like it a lot since i make a lot of animal pastures hehe... and it works with custom fences (so if you have macaws fences it will work for those too!)

fairy lights adds paper lanterns and string lights which look way better than torches! also lets u make flag banners and stuff

falling tree lets you chop a tree down in 1 swoop, and automatically destroys the floating leaves so u dont have floating trees and stuff everywhere...might seem cheaty but i like it lol (i also use this in place of dynamic trees, which makes trees BEAUTIFUL but, again, hasnt updated past 1.12)

i also use the unity resource pack (i like this one bc it makes colors more coordinated and muted! my ocd lollll i also like mizunos of courseee) and sildurs vibrant shaders (sildurs is pretty graphics intensive but the lite or medium versions are less so! there are also less intense shaders out there, this is just the one i use)... for shaders to work u need optifine (which also adds dynamic lighting! i.e torches will light the way when you hold them without placing them, stuff like that. its also just good to have, it optimises your game better to prevent lag)

SO YEAH LOL those are all the mods i use rn! some of these have dependents you have to download to make them work (like biomes o plenty requires open terrain generator) but they tell u that on the download pages and stuff, just look out for that <3 also most of these mods have wikis if you wanna know how to tame an animal or crafting recipes and stuff like that, i pretty much keep the wikis open whenever im playing lol. idk how much u know abt the like process of installing mods n stuff but if u need help hmu and ill try to help!

wait I’m just now remembering the dream I had with a platonic f/o in it. Dare I say.....poggers

Okay I’m actually gonna talk about it because MY blog time to listen to MY dream ramblings. Also if I talk about it in the tags I’ll have to censor character names and that’s no fun. - Started w/some kind of parade? Or musical? Theatre on wheels? That was also its own little village also on wheels, I think? Or maybe the set was just massive. Some guy who graduated when I was a freshman was the lead. getting to see him again was cool

- The weather was warm, late spring/early summer like irl— the next part was probably influenced by my brother’s graduation ceremony that we went to. Bunch of ppl milling about, some of whom I know. I don’t remember for sure but I want to say there were more people that I would have know in high school than people I’d recognize now.

- ANYWAY the fun part was that Five was there, as though he was just another high school classmate. He gave me a card (for some reason? It made sense in-dream) that had like. A poem that was attributed to C. S. Lewis specifically, but I can’t remember anything about the poem which SUCKS. I remember being sad I didnt have it when I woke up. I also think it was like, a satire poem? Or a joke in some way. I couldnt READ it in the dream alas but I was VERY happy about it.

- and the last thing I remember is being in like. A Dollar Tree entrance, because we were in the parking lot of the Dollar Tree by the dmv where I live. So that was fun
