It’s nearly seven in the morning.
The sunrise shining through the windows and casting a bright warm hue onto Harry’s sleeping body in his bed. The white sheets tossed about and his head buried in the pillow, his cheek smushed to up and his lips slightly parted letting out small snores.
The only sound throughout the whole house is the sound of birds chirping about outside and the engines of cars on their way down the roads, the morning rush nearly upon the streets as people make their way to their nine till five jobs. The house has a slight breeze throughout due to Harry always sleeping with his window cracked open, and his door cracked open also to allow honey to walk in when she needed her Papa.
Speaking of the little love, she’s already awake, in her own small pink coloured bed, many pillows around her and her stuffies lined up against the wall, her favourite stuffie in her hand — Pascal from Tangled is her favourite stuffie, she brings him everywhere, even sneaks him into school in her back pack when Harrys not looking. She does this every morning, she lays in bed and talks to her stuffie or just stares at the ceiling, her glow in the dark stars now white and barely noticeable in the bright room, her pink curtains casting a pink hue around the room.
She waits five minutes before she’s hopping out of her bed and padding along towards her door, she pulls it open as it’s only closed a little, allowing enough of a gap for her small body to fit through. She snuggles pascal as she walks, looking around and noticing her Papa must still be asleep, she immediately darts for his room, peeping her curly head in and looking at his sleeping body, his back facing her and his bed messy as usual, but there’s always enough space for her to snuggle up next to him.
She doesn’t wake him, she tip toes towards the side he’s not laying on, throwing pascal up first before she’s hiking herself up on the large bed, a small groan when she has to put more strength into getting up than usual due to her sleepy state. When she’s up, she brushes the curls from her face with a harsh swipe, her blue doe eyes looking at her Papa, his hair messy like hers. She lays down on the pillow, looking at her Papa as she softly taps his cheek and pushes pascal towards him.
“G’morning button” he grumbles when he hears a small giggle, pascal now on his back as her dimples pop out at how ridiculous the man looks with a small green chameleon stuffie on his bare back. He smiles when he hears her hearty laugh, instantly wrapping his tattooed arm around her and squishing her into his chest.
“Papa! Cant see!” She laughs loudly, her small body being caged by her Dad’s broad muscular one, his own laughs filling the room as she peeps her head up at him, a small pout on her lips which causes him to lean down and peck her lips lightly.
“Have a good sleep? Yeah?” He asks when she nods happily, her small hand playing with his cross necklace as he shuts his eyes for a few more minutes, face buried in her chestnut curls as she talks to him and pascal, Harry never knowing which one she’s actually talking to sometimes.
“Papa? Pancakes now?” She asks after another five minutes, her small attention span running out which causes Harry to wake up from resting his eyes, smile back on his face as he turns them over so he’s laying on his back and Honey is sat on his stomach slapping his chest looking at his tattoos — she loves his tattoos or his “paintings” as she calls them.
“Papa, your pearlies are gone” she says disappointed looking to see that her favourite necklace of his which is his Pearl one, is missing. She loves to run her small hands over it, the feeling and look of it making her eyes wide in awe at the beauty of it.
“Should I wear them today?” He asks with a smile, watching as she rubs her eyes a little, slowly waking herself up as she lets out a small yawn, her small pouty lips returning as she babbles on nonsense as Harry tries to tame her hair a little before he has to style it for her today.
“Love your pearlies Papa” she says brightly, laying down on his chest, her curls tickling his chin as he wraps and arm around her back, rubbing small circles on it as she relaxes a little, her small body still trying to wake up as Harry softly kisses her head.
It’s when his alarm rings when the two actually peel themselves from bed, Honey immediately springing up and slapping his phone to turn off the sound, it’s her favourite thing to do for some reason, she always shouts “I did it Papa!” Which makes him laugh and nod kissing her head proudly. They’re both in the kitchen now, the early start allowing them to lounge about in their comfy clothes for awhile while they make breakfast. Harry is only in a pair of grey joggers while Honey sits on the counter, helping him add in flour and sugar to the pancake batter in her baby pink bunny printed silk pyjama set *** the darker complexion of her skin standing out against the pale pink, Harry was overjoyed when he seen she had the same skin tone as her Mum, her darker skin causing her blue eyes to be brighter.
“Wanna help crack an egg button? Need t’be careful though, don’t want crunch pancakes now do we?” He asks with a grin as she pulls a disgusted face shaking her head. Her small palm helps her Papa’s hand crack the egg and she giggles watching it plop down into the dry mixture.
They scarf down their banana pancakes through small chats and giggles, Harry cracking his usual jokes that have Honey giggling loudly as she shovelled her pancakes into her mouth, their faces hurting from laughing by the time they’re up in her bedroom, Harry standing at her drawers, holding up small outfits as Honey sits like the diva she is on her bed, giving him a thumbs down when she doesn’t like an outfit he picks. She’s so stubborn, but she gets that from him.
“I do it Papa!” She says annoyed now, marching over to him as she picks her up with a laugh, her small hands rooting about until she pulls out a white cable knit jumper with a few frills on the sleeves and a baby pink velvet pinafore to go over it. She smiles up at him as he nods, happy with her choice. ***
“Did good button, need to put some tights on you though, getting a bit nippy out” he says as she nods, walking towards her sock drawer and pulling out some white knitted tights with an smile as Harry gives her a thumbs up, causing her to laugh loudly.
“Why Papa shave?” She asks sitting on the sink, her small outfit on her and her brown boots swinging on her feet as she dangles them off the counter beside the sink watching as Harry applies his shaving foam and wets his razor under the water, he’s still shirtless and only in his joggers as Honey watches on — she loves watching him, when he’s shaving his face or when he’s cooking, even when he does something a small as put her DVD in the player, she’s fascinated by him and Harry thinks it’s because he’s all she has, and he doesn’t mind being the centre of her attention as she is his.
“Papa has hair on his face, sometimes it gets itchy when it lets long. You don’t like it sure you don’t, always complaining it tickles when I kiss ya” he says with a laugh, his hand gliding the razor over his face as he inspects himself in the mirror, trying not to nick himself as Honey watches on curiously.
“Yuck! Hate Papas beard, gross!” She says as Harry looks at her, his face shaven and the foam gone, he picks up his curl cream and scrunches it through his hair a little.
“S’not nice to say gross button, remember? Cant say things are gross” he warns her, her small face falling but nodding as she takes the small scolding from her Papa, he rarely scolds her and when he does, he feels guilty but he knows it’s for her own good. Apart from a few slip ups here and there, she’s the most well mannered toddler ever, everyone that meets her complements Harry on his good parenting which means so much to him due to what he’s been through to get to where he is now.
It’s another few minutes before Harry is fully dressed, a baby blue striped grey suit *** on his body and his usual gucci heeled boots that Honey loves the sound of, she instantly perks up at the sound knowing her Papa is near. She claps when he walks out from the bathroom, it’s her new thing, she claps like he’s putting on a fashion show, causing him to strike a pose which causes her to fall back onto the bed in fits of laughter.
“Alright button, hair time!” He says as she widens her eyes, trying to wriggle off his bed and run away. She hates her hair being combed due to her curls being unruly and always tangled on her head. He grabs her and makes monster noises at her, tickling her belly as she screams out a laugh, nearly falling from his arms as he places her down on the counter by the sink, she spins around and watches herself in the mirror.
“What are we going for today Miss Styles?” He asks her like a professional hair stylist, her smile wide as she grabs a pink hair tie with small butterfly clips also, she shows them to him in the mirror as he smiles, taking her hair brush and de tangling spray. He struggles a little but he gets there in the end, her hair tied up in a pony tail and the small butterfly clips all around her head as she smiles brightly at herself.
“Did good job Papa!” She says clapping her hands, seeing how her Dad is improving, he’s been watching tutorials nightly and even trying some on himself as he gets used to braiding and all that stuff for when she starts asking for more complex styles in her curly hair.
He packs her bag and they’re both out the door quickly, he straps her into her booster seat in his black Range Rover, her legs dangling about as she rings and dances to the song on the radio, Harry keeping his eyes on the road but they flicker to hers in the rear view mirror when she speaks to him. Honey loves school, she loves her teacher and she loves making new friends due to her out going personality that she definitely got from her Mum, she could make friends with a tree if she was near one.
She’s holding his hand as he walks her in the gates, the other kids all lining up on their designated class spot on the ground, a yellow circle painted on the tarmac signalling the younger class. The Mums are all there with their kids, the odd few Dads there also but it’s always the Mums who are smiling and speaking to Harry as they watch their kids walk into their classroom, small hands waving as they excitedly march into the school. He doesn’t stay long after she’s gone in, mainly because the Mums have no filter and would publicly flirt with the single Dad even when they have wedding bands on their fingers.
He brushes off all the women, smiling at them as he runs out the gate, hearing them all whisper amongst themselves as they excitedly look on as he pulls away in his expensive car heading towards his work building. Harry feels empty when Honey is gone, he loves mornings with her, just him and her going about their mornings, making breakfast and cracking up at jokes they tell one another back and forth over banana pancakes every morning, some mornings they have cereal if they wake up late and sometimes if they wake up extra early and can’t go back asleep, they get ready and Harry brings her out for breakfast before dropping her off at school.
It’s the little moments with Honey that Harry cherishes, knowing she won’t be his little love for very long, but doesn’t think about that. He lives in the present with her and he loves how they are now, he loves his little lady with all his heart.

After your afternoon class with Jisung, he quickly noted that you were absent for the rest of the day.
Sure, you didn’t have any other classes, but normally you would be hunkered down in the library with your nose stuffed in some sort of book, or wandering around campus with Felix at your heels. You were either cramming due to your procrastination or roaming around procrastinating. Jisung also knew you weren’t a fan of staying in your small dorm room since your roommate loved flaunting the fact that she had a boyfriend and how she wasn’t shy about anyone witnessing their ‘acts of love’.
So he really had no idea where you were, and it bugged him a little more than he would like to admit.
But outwardly, he didn’t want to show just how worried he was. You were his best friend’s sister, it wasn’t his job to make a fuss about something so trivial. It would be weird if he went looking for you… but if Minho just so happened to get word of his little sister’s sudden disappearance, Jisung would have to help his dear friend search for you.
It was only common courtesy.
“Minho, I think Y/n was kidnapped.”
“You WHAT?!”
Okay, starting the phone call with that probably wasn’t the best choice, but what other choice did he have. Jisung was an impatient guy.
“Yeah, I don’t know what happened.” He replied casually, already able to hear the panic on Minho’s end of the call. “She was here and then she wasn’t.”
Not only was he impatient, he was a(n idiot) songwriter; his words articulate and poetic.
Minho was silent for a second before cutting back for the call.
“I texted Changbin and he said she just ran off.”
Jisung frowned. “Do they know where she went?”
“Apparently to beat some sense into me.”
The two friends knew then where you were and a rush of panic filled their chests all at the same time.
“Fuck—”
“—Chan.”
Jisung nearly dropped his phone in the process of hanging up, immediately taking off towards the familiar apartment.
His worst nightmare was coming true—Chan was an unknown in Jisung’s mind. He was handsome, charismatic, and an older guy, so it was realistic to imagine you falling head-over-heels if you were to ever meet him. Unfortunately, it seemed like fate wasn’t in his favor and he was in deep shit if you were really at the apartment alone with Chan.
Alone with Chan.
He shivered at the thought.
The only brightside to the ordeal was that Minho was also aware of the dangerous situation. Out of everyone, he would be the only one to prevent any feelings from sprouting between you. Jisung counted on Minho every time and he never once failed to preform.
Dear god, he hoped he didn’t decide to stop now.
Arriving at the complex, he almost rammed full speed into Minho, who was also going as fast as his legs could take him. They only shared one glance before trampling over their feet to get up the stairs, no doubt bothering the neighbors along their way.
Minho was the one to swing the door open, his head on a swivel as he walked in. He was ready to break up any inappropriate business with as much force necessary—he didn’t care if Chan’s bicep was twice the size of his head, he had leg power on his side. And if he saw your tongue anywhere near Chan’s, Minho was going to be swinging.
“Chan?”
“Y/n?”
Thud.
There was a crash behind the closed door of the office, and both heads perked up at the sound.
Minho hurried forward, arm outstretched to grab the door, “No. No no no—”
Jisung never wanted in his life to see you involved with someone else. With your pretty eyes hooded and shining with desire, and your chest heaving heavily against the tight fabric of your blouse. It had been difficult enough to watch you fill out and grow into an attractive woman, he didn’t want to acknowledge the fact that you were old enough to meet other guys and moan their names.
He certainly didn’t want to hear you moan Chan’s name—of all people, why Chan?
“Shit, Chan—”
Jisung felt his face heat up as Minho pushed the door open, ready to pull his friend away to avoid the scene on the other side.
“—get your head away from my ass! The power strip isn’t even near there you prick!”
“Hey,” Chan defended with a laugh. “In my defense, all you said was it was over here somewhere. How do I know that somewhere isn’t next to your ass?”
The position that the two of you were in was compromising—though not in the way that Jisung had originally expected. It caused the two newcomers to freeze, their brains struggling to really understand what was happening.
The two of you were surrounded by thousands of cables and wires, black foam scattered across the floor as well. You were on your hands and knees, the only visible part of you was your bottom half with your head tucked underneath Chan’s mixing table doing who knows what. As for Chan, he was crawling around same as you, on his hands and knees with an extension cord wrapped around his shoulders.
“Uhm…” Minho gaped, eyes unable to focus on one part of the scene.
Jisung had no trouble at all, his eyes locked solidly on your raised ass.
You turned your head to look over your shoulder, eyes locking with Jisung’s and immediately widening. You couldn’t be in a worse situation—fucking hell.
In your haste to get out from under the table, you slammed the top of your head against one of the sturdy table legs and winced as Chan cracked up from your side.
“Aren’t you supposed to be in class—Jesus, ow…” You asked, your hand moving up to rub the forming bump.
“What’s going on?” Minho asked, his eyebrows brushing his bangs.
“Y/n wanted some help with her stats class and I needed someone to help me upturn this room and make it into a recording room.” Chan snorted at your little dramatic groans, completely unfazed by the growing frustration on Minho’s face.
But before Minho could say anything to Chan’s statement, Jisung stepped in.
His lips twisted sourly, “I thought Seungmin was going to help you with your stats stuff?”
You shook your head with a huff. “I will not subject myself to that kind of torture and I refuse to let anyone convince me otherwise.”
“Well you could’ve asked me.”
Defeated and jealous; Jisung could no longer hide it.
The two older boys could see it clearly in the way he looked at you with big sad eyes, though neither of them said anything. Chan’s brows furrowed in thought, it looked like you had someone else infatuated with you.
You laughed. “Uh-huh, because you’re the resident genius here. Jisung, you dropped two of your classes last semester because both professors were minutes away from giving you an administrative failure.”
“Yeah, yeah. Jisung’s head is full of rocks—” Minho dismissed, unsympathetic towards the scandalized boy next to him. “Why the hell are you turning my storage room into a junkyard?”
Chan finally stood, pulling the cord from his neck and throwing it to the side in favor of helping you up.
“It was already a junkyard, bundle-boy.” You said, voice clipped and annoyed. Who wouldn’t be after smashing their head against a solid piece of metal? “We were renovating.”
“Like hell you were. I thought I said no to the recording room?”
Minho’s rage was just about completely directed towards Chan, but to your surprise, the guy gave minimal to no reaction. His face stayed indifferent, wide shoulders relaxed and eyes set.
You’ll be dammed, the fucker wasn’t scared.
Chan wasn’t afraid of your brother.
There was someone on the planet who didn’t go running when Minho looked at them funny, and he was standing right next to you in his beautiful sleeveless glory. If you weren’t currently suffering from a possible concussion you would be dropping to one knee and popping the question then and there.
“Oh, so what you said earlier was a no?” Chan (very unconvincingly) feigned innocence. “Sorry, the phone connection must’ve been bad.”
“I was yelling to you from the other room.”
“These walls are very thick, Minho. It’s your apartment, you should know that.”
“Do you want to be homeless?”
“Define; home.”
That was it, he was your one true love.
As Minho began to cross his arms over his chest, squaring up to Chan with the glare of a certifiable killer, you slid out of the way to avoid the oncoming fist fight.
Or explosion, whichever route Minho decided to take.
But then the unthinkable happened—Minho sighed, dropping his arms to his sides and turning towards you.
Both you and Jisung stood speechless, because you just witnessed someone give Minho an attitude and not get beat down afterwards. Hyunjin had once attempted the same thing and had been chased around the quad for a good forty minutes until the taller man had gotten tired and your brother had become uninterested.
Felix told you that they were both reemed during dance practice that night for being too tired to execute their choreography.
Minho shook his head, “You and Changbin were probably going to convince me anyway. Might as well save the wasted time and get it done now.”
Either your brother had a fat crush on Chan, or the Lee Minho was afraid of someone.
You knew Chan was older than him, but someone had to have some sort of super power to keep Minho from kicking their shins and shoving a knee in their face.
“What is happening…?” Jisung wondered, eyes wide and mouth open.
Chan smiled, striding over to clap Jisung on the shoulder, making the shorter boy jump in surprise.
“Good news. We’re getting a recording studio.”
And you would like to get married to one Bang Chan please.
You joined Chan’s side.
“Now you can finish that song you were working on.” You said, nudging Jisung’s shoulder.
He was just going to ignore the sudden wave of excitement at the fact that you remembered that he was working on a song.
“Yeah, I guess so.” Jisung laughed tensely. “Looks like I’ll be around more often.”
“Yeah, definitely…”
You nodded absentmindedly, eyes locked on the exposed skin of Chan’s arms. Chan himself didn’t acknowledge your stare, but couldn’t help the smug smile that slid onto his face.
Jisung watched the exchange and groaned, looking over to glare at Minho for failing him the only time it truly would end badly for him. Because of course Minho had to be soft for Chan and of course Chan had to be moving in.
Why couldn’t Chan just be ugly?
“Okay,” Chan sighed, placing all the wires he held into a pile on the floor. Suddenly, he turned to you, “You held up your end of the bargain. Let’s work on some stats, huh?”
Your eyes widened for a second, caught in headlights.
“Oh,” was your smart reply. “But we didn’t get to finish?”
Chan waved it off. “The only reason we tried to get it all done was to make sure Minho couldn’t say no. Now that he’s accepted it, we don’t have to rush.”
As much as it bothered him not to finish a project.
You laughed at the little punch Minho threw at Chan’s shoulder on his way out of the room, mumbling something about “going to bed before Changbin comes home to beg for food”. He also made sure to pinch your cheek before leaving.
After swatting at Minho’s hand, you grinned.
“Okay, well… Let’s figure out how we’re going to do this.”
Chan mimicked your smile with a nod.
No way, Jisung thought as you followed his older friend out into the living room, no fucking way.
You just left him without an acknowledging glance his way, and all of a sudden he had a really terrible feeling about leaving you and Chan alone together. Anything could happen—kissing, fucking, god forbid you talk to him. You could become closer and gain feelings for the guy, which would not be a hard task considering Chan was basically the human embodiment of the sun and every damn person seemed to be pulled into his orbit after the first meeting.
Dammit, it was even difficult for Jisung to be mad at him. The guy was too lovable.
Cursing under his breath, Jisung all but ran into the living room to prevent any and all touching or deep talks, because heaven knew how much Chan talked about deep shit.
Ew, he sounded like Minho.
“You don’t have any notes at all?” Chan asked, eyebrows raised. “What do you even do in there?”
You let out a sigh.
“Stats is where I usually do my biology work.”
“Then what do you do in biology?” He questioned bluntly, his eyes skimming all the lost files on your computer that you had given up on ages ago.
“That’s where I write all my essays. The teacher—”
“—never stands up from his chair.”
With wide eyes, you laughed in surprise. Your mouth formed many words but nothing stumbled out, perhaps for a good reason because what you had in your head wasn’t very coherent on its own.
So you just pointed at the snickering Chan, “You…?”
His head shook and your mood dropped.
“I don’t do work for other classes,” he corrected, the mischievous smile slowly sliding onto his lips giving you a little hope back. “I actually produced a whole song in that class.”
Was Jisung dreaming or were you looking at Chan with those big bewildered eyes? Was that what was happening right in front of him? Could he be seeing things?
For once he really hoped he was going insane.
“I knew I wasn’t the only one that slacked off in that class!” You chirped, bouncing a little in your seat.
“And I still got a one-hundred on my exam.” He told you pointedly before passing on the laptop and leaning back on the couch.
Normally, smugness wouldn’t have been attractive to you but on Chan it was something else. His eyes lit up in a way that was almost pretty.
There was a pull towards him as he just sat there and looked at you. It was something that set you on edge in the same way it put you at ease, he just had such a conflicting presence and you really didn’t know how to process it. So your body pushed you forward on it’s own, and with no complaints from him, you felt your hand come to rest on his knee—
But out of the fucking blue, Jisung was throwing himself between you two, his thinner body fitting snuggly in the unfilled space. You sputtered and Chan nearly yelped, holding his hand to his chest to placate his thudding heart.
“Jisung—what the fuck?”
“Did you just jump over the back of the couch?” Chan frowned looking over his shoulder to really determine the path Jisung took to get there.
Jisung smiled obnoxiously, “I just figured I’d help you guys out. Considering I’m also in that class.” He wiggles a little more to separate the two of you even more. “And three brains are better than two.”
“Not when yours is nonexistent.” You quipped, feeling your lips pull into a pout at the intruder.
“Ah, how I love your humor.”
Jisung poked your nose with a tight lipped smile.
Sending Chan a look of apology, he shrugged, falling back further into the couch.
“Sure, why not?” Was his response, shoulders lifting up and falling back down with a huff. “Let me help you set up some proper notes.”
Jisung brought his hands together once to create a near deafening sound that had you even more irritable. His happy-go-lucky mood wasn’t funny when you were on the receiving end of the annoyance.
One nice thing—you couldn’t have one single nice thing ever.
Between your brother and his dumb best friend (that you may or may not have sorta feelings for) you couldn’t do anything. Your prime years were being wasted on sucky romance movies with Felix and Hyunjin and cat fights with Jisung. You couldn’t afford such bullshit for much longer.
“You know I love you, Y/n.”
“Stuff your love up your ass.”
Tumblr media
The rest of the week passed by smoothly with minimal conflict on your end and grades that didn’t have you contemplating slamming your face into a wall. On weekends you usually spent most of your time at Minho’s apartment while Changbin dicked around at the gym and your brother slept for the forty-eight hours that he had to himself. You could watch movies and finish your homework with no distractions.
That was until Chan decided to move in and steal your attention every moment he could. You were even starting to suspect that he was doing it on purpose after the time he walked out of the bathroom in only a bath towel and responded with a “oh, I didn’t notice you there”.
You also concluded that Felix was a snitch and no longer deserved your friendship, because once you shared with him your encounter with Chan, everyone in your group of friends was wired in to everything that concerned you and Chan.
Especially Jisung. Which eventually caused—
“Jisung why the hell are you following me?”
The boy in question didn’t bother to acknowledge you, instead he simply continued to walk at your side, hands stuffed deep in his pockets and hair just a little messier than usual, “What do you mean? This is how I get to my next class.”
You snorted. “Last time I checked, you had dropped your two-thirty class. And even then, it was on the other side of the building.”
Jisung couldn’t help but roll his pretty brown eyes.
“Stalker…”
“Says the guy who’s been up my ass all day.” You chirped, taking pride in the way he glared at you.
Jisung threw his hands up in frustration. He knew what he was doing was out of character, sure. But did he want to be called out on it?
“Can I not hang out with you? God, Y/n. We’ve known each other for years, I’d think you’d get used to me being around.”
You merely shook your head with a laugh, continuing forward.
“You’re really something else.”
He snorted, “So you’re being an adult now?”
“When am I not the adult when I’m with you? There’s no room for stupid energy with you around.” You replied cheekily
“Well I’m sorry for hogging all the ‘stupid energy’, damn…”
The way that Jisung held up the air quotes for “stupid energy” had your cheeks aching from how hard you smiled.
“Well, I’m going to lunch with Felix and Hyunjin right now. So unless you want to be subjected to their combined stupidity, I would suggest you go back to your dorm.” You sent him a small smile over your shoulder, just barely missing the way he tripped over his feet because of it.
Felix had called you in a rush right as you were getting out of your last class of the day and asked you to come eat lunch with him and Hyunjin. It was a one sided conversation that lasted almost ten seconds but you figured you had no other choice but to comply. Whatever reason he had for being in such a hurry was enough for you to listen.
“But you can come if you want, Sungie. I’m sure they won’t mind.”
Sungie.
It had been a while since you last called him that nickname—possibly way back when you were in primary school. It sent chills down his spine to hear you call him that again.
Jisung caught up to you easily, slinging his arm around your shoulders just as he used to when you began calling him Sungie. Over the years it had started to put a strain on him since he found it hard to differentiate what was friendly and what was too friendly. He had a girlfriend after all, and there were only so many things he could do with other girls that was acceptable.
But of course you were just Y/n. The little sister that bothered them all day and called him Sungie.
He didn’t have to feel embarrassed to hug you or tease you or hide his insecurities behind stupid pick up lines. Now matter how much it made his heart pound in his chest, you were still Minho’s baby sister—you were Jisung’s baby sister.
“I’d like that, my dear.” Jisung said, stuffing his free hand into his pocket and pulling you closer.
So close that it almost felt domestic.
Y’know, as domestic as it could get with someone who was like a little sister to him. He had a beautiful girlfriend too, so the domestication was more like a… family comfort and less like how it would feel if you were married and he was allowed to hold you as close as he wanted—
“Ah, you’re warm,” you hummed, making a small fuss of tucking yourself further into his hold. “It always looks like it’s going to be nice outside, but it seems like the weather changes its mind just as much as Hyunjin.”
You didn’t notice but Jisung was completely lost to everything you said after “you’re warm”. He just continued to hum and nod as if his brain wasn’t completely fried.
Jisung was in the midst of a mental breakdown when you somehow managed to lead him to the small restaurant right outside of the university. It was a popular place since it was so close and dolled out cheap food in a matter of seconds, which definitely appealed to its main demographic.
You spotted Felix’s head of purple hair immediately, a bright smile etched onto his face as he spoke animatedly to the waiter standing at the ready. The boy was cute, black hair and pretty dimples that made him appear younger. He also looked friendly with Felix with how he spoke with a wide smile that showed his perfect teeth.
You approached the table, shrugging Jisung’s arm off of you and ignoring his whine in protest.
“I made it,” you announced, gaining the attention of your friends—
And fuck.
You met eyes with Seungmin sitting in the seat beside Felix, and felt your shoulders slump as he flashed you a smirk.
“Glad you could come, Y/n.” Seungmin all but sang at your visible distress.
But Felix had a hold on your arm before you could respond with attitude, tugging you dangerously close to the waiter at your side.
“Y/n, this is Jeongin—” Felix gestured towards the boy who lifted his hand to wave. “He’s a school friend of Hyunjin’s.”
“It’s my last year.” Jeongin added with a shy laugh.
Peeling your eyes away from Seungmin, you got a good look at the boy in front of you. The unexpected cuteness both startled you and made your stomach flip. You really had to withhold from squealing and pinching his cheeks. He was so cute.
You smiled genuinely, “It’s nice to meet you, Jeonginnie.”
A small wave of red covered his ears at the sudden nickname, his long eyelashes fluttering in surprise.
Jisung just about combusted in his spot. He was getting pretty sick and tired of keeping tabs on all the boys you managed to hook around your finger, it was starting to get out of hand. Okay, maybe he was the stalker.
In a bout of frustration, Jisung grabbed your hand and interlaced your fingers, sliding into the booth beside Hyunjin and tugging you after him. You made a noise of surprise as your ass connected harshly with the cracked red cushion of the booth, sending Jisung a glare.
Though, he kept his eyes on the table, avoiding the amused looks on everyone’s faces, even going as far as swatting away Hyunjin’s poking fingers. But for whatever reason, he couldn’t bring himself to release your hand from his.
Jisung’s palm was sweaty in your hold, but strangely enough it was something that you didn’t mind.
Jeongin looked between you and Jisung for a moment before quickly coming to some sort of realization that only Felix seemed to understand. His mouth formed an ‘o’ shape and a small smirk was suddenly on his lips as he asked what drink you would like.
Whatever that was about, you didn’t like it.
“I’ll just have a water.” You answered skeptically, finally managing to pull your fingers free of Jisung’s grip.
“Water for me too.”
Jeongin didn’t bother to write down your orders, instead he just nodded and left with that same goofy smile on his face.
Why did your friends have to corrupt the poor kid?
You sent a glare towards Felix, ready to grill him about what the hell just happened but his eyes were on something else above your head, his lips forming into the same smirk that Jeongin had on. Whatever what’s either above you or behind you was either a stupid compilation video of League of Legend funny moments or your next victim.
“Care for one more?” Came from behind you.
And both your and Jisung’s heads swiveled around at a dangerous speed to see the beautiful image of Chan, and damn was he beautiful. He was dressed for the weather, arms now covered in a long black sweater that hugged every one of his muscles so so nicely, and instead of sweatpants, he was wearing jeans. You could definitely tell the difference between a casual day around the house and one where he was going to be seen out in public—was that makeup?
And Jisung frowned. It had been going so well.
It was his turn to send Felix a glare.
The purple haired boy mouthed something along the lines of “girlfriend”, but Jisung couldn’t (could) really make it out.
“Sit down.” You managed to choke out, motioning toward the table.
“Hey!” Felix greeted, standing up to fully embrace Chan in a hug.
You were floored.
“You know each other?”
Felix’s eyes flickered towards you, “We both grew up in Sydney.”
And you thought your eyes were going to pop out of your skull.
“You’re Australian?” You gaped, watching Chan as if he had sprouted a new head.
He then proceeded to spout off some heavily accented words that you could barely make sense of, and you could feel your heart practically flutter in your chest. After meeting Felix, you never thought you’d ever find an Australian accident sexy as hell—but Chan’s was, in fact, very sexy as hell.
“Wow,” Hyunjin whistled. “What does it take for one to become Australian, because fuck.”
You didn’t think you would ever agree with Hyunjin so much in your life.
Chan snorted. “I think you have to be born in Australia unfortunately.”
“Or you know,” Felix tossed sarcastically. “Live there.”
“Damn. Always the catch.”
You sighed, almost going as far as face-palming yourself and/or slamming your forehead against the table.
Instead you just sent Chan an embarrassed smile. “You can sit down if you aren’t planning on running away.”
“Thanks.” He laughed.
Unfortunately for you, there were already three people in your booth and he wouldn’t be able to fit beside you.
Fortunately for Jisung, there were already three people in your booth and Chan wouldn’t be able to fit beside you.
But when Chan began to slide in the seat next to Felix, Hyunjin suddenly jumped with a yelp, glaring at the suspicious looking Felix in front of him. The two had a very strange conversation with their eyes before Hyunjin was huffing a sigh and maneuvering himself to slip under the booth and (clumsily, you may add) pop out on the other side of Seungmin, ignoring the spectacled boys' complaints as he sends Chan a smile.
Stupid plotting assholes.
“Just wanted to sit next to my… uh—”
“Boyfriend?” You supplied, blinking at him dully.
“Yeah, my boy—hey, fuck you!”
“Sorry, were you waiting to tell people?”
He took the liberty to be the kicker instead of the kickee and sent his foot into your ankle, making you hiss with a glare.
Felix nudged Chan’s hip to direct him into the spot beside you, his mouth open in a wide smile as you are further squished between both Jisung and Chan. With one boy being very broad and the other being very clingy, you barely had any room at all.
“Y/n, you look a little cramped, why don’t you scoot over here a little more—?”
“Jisung, if I get any closer to you, I would be on top of you.”
Hey, he wasn’t completely opposed to that plan.
Jisung certainly would rather have you on his lap than Chan’s. He couldn’t even think about that without grasping for your hand again, though you were too fast and managed to wiggle out of his grip.
“Yeah, Y/n. Why don’t you just scoot over?” Hyunjin sang, his mouth curled up in a coy little smirk that he always had carved onto his face.
“You scheming little—”
But your words were cut off by the clearing of a throat.
Seungmin leaned over the table, and the way his sleeves were rolled to his forearms was suddenly very noticeable. He looked at you with the intention to kill, and had he not been a prudish reincarnation of the devil, you would’ve thought he looked hot as fuck.
“Do you want me to retell the little incident that took place at last year’s Christmas party?”
A collective gasp went around the table, Chan being the only one who was absolutely clueless.
Felix whispered something under his breath about how “that was sworn to secrecy”, and Hyunjin’s wide eyes stuck to the side of Seungmin’s face like glue.
Even Jisung broke out of his jealous stupor to gulp.
“You wouldn’t dare.”
“I would.”
That was the true form of Kim Seungmin.
“What? Do dinners like this happen all the time?” Chan asked. “Do you ever actually eat?”
As if on queue, Jeongin stepped up to the table, notepad in hand and wide eyes sparkling. “Are you guys ready to order—?”
But Felix was dragging the boy down to his height, whispering something quickly into his ear, causing his eyes to widen. After enlarging, his gaze flickered back and forth between you, Jisung and Chan.
“I… will give you guys a few more minutes.”
Jeongin scurried off and you wanted to kill everyone at the table.
“Well, I’m going to answer my own question here and say no. There will be no eating food today.” Chan hummed, tossing his menu onto the table similarly to a petulant child.
You huffed. What did you ever do to deserve any of this?
With both boys at either side of you, it seemed to create a visual representation of the conflict in your mind. And Seungmin looked like he was ready to pass out with how hard he was trying to hold in his laughter as Felix and Hyunjin simply smiled your way.
To say that the two boys were completely clueless, would’ve been an understatement—
With Chan too busy thinking about all the food he wouldn’t be eating and Jisung preoccupied trying to grab ahold of your hand, they didn’t once notice the way that the three little devils stared holes into their heads.
“I literally can’t stand any of you.”

based on @pufferssss' discord headcanon of levi taking care of petra while she's on her period. just fluff, because my babies deserve it, sue me.
(You can also read this on AO3!)
==
She's off her game today.
He'd noticed it earlier that morning, during PT. He'd assigned them to complete a circuit, and most of the squad had groaned and complied, but she'd remained silent, just turned a shade paler.
"Something wrong, Ral?" he'd asked, when her face twisted into a pained expression. For a second, she'd looked at him entreatingly, like she was trying to communicate something with her gaze.
When he just stared blankly back, she'd sighed and shook her head. "Nothing, sir," she'd grumbled, before turning around and going off on the ten-kilometre jog.
But now – something's definitely wrong, he's sure of it. She looks distracted and self-conscious, her eyes flickering between the guys and him, and she keeps adjusting her uniform even though as far as Levi can see, every strap is perfectly in place. She's pale, too, looking far too drained for one measley circuit –for all her flaws, Petra's never been one to back down from a challenge, let alone show a sign of weakness.
He watches as she maneuvers robotically towards the end-point, slicing at the rubber-foam targets in an almost absent-minded way, wearing that pained, distracted expression. When an Abnormal emerges suddenly from the side, plywood arm raised for attack, he waits for her to snap to attention and dodge.
Instead, she turns, much too slowly and goes, as if in a daze, "Huh?" The arm slams down on her wires, and she lets out a shriek as she struggles to recalibrate her position while dangling mid-air. His irritation mounting, he swiftly swings over and plucks her out of the air, ignoring her protests, and dumps her unceremoniously on the ground. Following his lead, Eld, Gunther, and Auruo alight on the ground, expressions tight and wary.
"What the hell was that?" he demands. But instead of looking sheepish like she usually would, she shoots him a venomous glare. Like it's his fault she failed to dodge a damn piece of plywood.
"Sorry," she mutters, sounding not the least bit apologetic. Levi stares at her in disbelief. They've been together for a while, sure, but she's never been insubordinate like this, let alone in front of their squadmates, in the middle of drills.
"Ral." His tone is frigid. "I'll say it once more. What the hell was that? You're being out of line, and your drills were atrocious." His tone is harsh, and her gaze snaps to his, bright with fury.
"I said," she hisses, "I was sorry."
He's angry, now. "Well, you sure have a fucking funny way of showing it."
"Oh, fuck you, Levi," she spits, and there's a sharp intake of breath all around – Petra never curses, and she never calls him by name during training.
"Petra!" Eld exclaims. "Sir, as second-in-command, I'll take care of this – you can continue with the drills –"
"Fuck you too, Eld." She gets to her feet, dusting herself off, and glares around at her squadmates.
He's had enough. "Ral, I don't know why you think it's okay to speak to us this way, but –"
"I'm on my period," she finally bites out. She spins around, eyes flashing, and everyone but him takes an involuntary step back. "And I don't know what I did wrong but this time it feels like I'm being stabbed in the abdomen by a thousand daggers and I'm pretty sure I've bled through these stupid fucking white pants and God help me I'm so done with all of you insensitive fuckers."
There's a beat. He finally finds his voice, and says, lamely, "You should have spoken up earlier. You could've gone to the sick bay if it was that bad."
At that, she honest-to-goodness snarls at him, baring her teeth and curling her lip like a cornered animal. "Then. I'll. Go." The words come out in a low growl, and it's all he can do to keep his expression flat and unreadable.
"Go, then." For a second, her mask of fury cracks, and her eyes fill with tears.
But then she turns on her heel and stalks off, her boots crunching in the dust. He notices, belatedly, that there's a smudge of red on the back of her pants.
His squad stands there, shocked into silence. "You go tell her, Auruo," Eld says finally.
"What? No way, you do it, you're second-in-command –"
As the guys argue between themselves, Levi presses his head into his hands and wonders briefly why the universe seems to hate him.
==
Later, when he knocks on the door, he's not surprised when he doesn't get a reply.
Steeling himself for the worst, he pushes the door open a crack. She's not on the bed. Maybe I'll just go in and wait for her, then, he thinks, before a soft moan makes his gaze snap to the ground.
It's Petra, curled up into a fetal position on the ground. She's sweating despite the mild temperature, and her skin has taken on a deathly pallour.
She groans again, and the sound startles him out of his reverie. He opens the door and steps in. "What the hell, Petra?" he mutters under his breath, kneeling on the ground next to her. Her eyes are closed, and he thinks he hears a muffled fuck off before she sighs, turning onto her other side and pulling her knees even more tightly to her chest.
Despite her mumbled protests, he lifts her carefully back onto the bed and pours her a glass of water. "Open," he orders, gently lifting her head and thumbing her lip. She bites his thumb halfheartedly, and he lets out an irritated grunt.
"Dammit, Petra, it's just medicine for the pain. Quit being a stubborn brat and open up already." She mumbles something unintelligible, maybe another curse, but obediently opens her mouth and swallows the small white pill dry, ignoring the glass of water and grimacing as she does it.
Her eyelids flutter weakly, and she looks up at him through half-lidded eyes. "Go away, you ass. Don't wanna talk to you. Ugh, it hurts." She lets out a high-pitched whine, the sound somehow both irritated and agonised at the same time, and he snorts – it's just so Petra for her to be frustrated at her own pain.
"Lie down," he orders, pulling a hot water bottle out his bag and tucking it roughly into her arms. She presses it to her abdomen and curls into the warmth, making a small, pleased sound, and even though her hair clings to her damp forehead and her clothes are a rumpled mess, it's still inexplicably, ridiculously cute.
"Better?" he asks. She nods sleepily – and then, a few moments, just as she seems on the verge of dozing off, she sits up abruptly, almost shoving him off the bed in the process.
She looks at him with wide, panicked eyes. "You – oh, no," she groans. "You can't be here. My room is a mess, I'm a mess, there's a pile of bloody laundry in the corner..." Levi inwardly recoils at that, but manages to keep his face carefully composed, "...and – ugh – just, get out get out get out." She collapses back into bed, throws a pillow at his general direction (he dodges), and lets out a cry that's somewhere between exasperation and embarrassment.
"You're welcome," he deadpans, and she drapes an arm over her flushed face, covering her eyes. "I'll leave soon. Just as soon as you tell me you're okay."
"I'm okay, now get out." Her words are muffled from underneath her arm. With an irritated sigh, he gets up, pausing only when she peeks out from under her arm (again with the ridiculous cute) and asks, "where'd you get the hot water bottle from?"
"Nifa." He frowns, recalling the thinly veiled disapproval on the girl's face when he'd confided in her the morning's events.
"Oh." Her voice is small. "Um. Captain – Levi," she amends, and hesitates.
"Yeah?"
"Thanks. You know. For everything. And, uh, sorry for freaking out earlier." Her arm goes back over her face.
"It's fine." Levi lets out a short exhale, and against his better judgment, leans back over her slight figure to gently brush the tangled hair out of her face. Her face is still fever-hot, and she sighs at the coolness of his touch.
"Feel better, Petra," he says, quietly. As he gets up to leave, his eyes flicker to the pile of laundry at the corner at the corner of the room.
Every cell in his cleanliness-obsessed body screams in protest.
Oh, what the hell. Without making a sound, he lifts the bundle into his arms – keeping it as far away from his face as possible – and leaves, closing the door quietly behind him.
Levi Ackerman, he thinks grimly to himself, as he makes his way towards the laundry room, you are such a fucking loser.
==
The next morning, Petra wakes up to a pile of clean, perfectly pressed laundry outside her door.
There's a note. Ral, it says, in a familiar, elegant script, you owe me a new bottle of bleach. Let me know when you're better, because I'm still giving your insubordinate ass a week of latrine duty. C.L.
Carefully, she folds the piece of paper and closes the door behind her. She flops onto her bed, feeling an irrepressible smile spread over her face – and somehow, all of a sudden – the ache in her abdomen doesn't feel quite so bad.

requested by @aritodla, check her out, she’s an amazing artist and a really sweet person overall.
Tumblr media
Lee Felix was a sweet boy. He had kind eyes, freckled cheeks, and an air of infectious happiness around him. He always tipped generously, he never got angry at the staff, and he always cleaned up after himself. Lee Felix was a sweet boy. And it was a shame all you knew about him was his first name and his coffee order.
Even though Felix only started visiting your coffee shop a few weeks ago, you could tell he was a genuinely nice person. Everything about him was lovable.
Like the way he always said thank you after you took his order.
Or like the way he gripped his coffee cup with both his hands when the weather was cold.
Or the way he had a billion stickers on his laptop, adding a new one every week.
Or the way his eyebrows furrowed when he wrote something down..
Or the way he nodded along when he heard music he liked.
Lee Felix was a sweet boy. And even though you didn’t know much about him, you really wanted to. Because Lee Felix was sunshine. And you were in need of warmth.
It was a sunny day — one where it was warm enough to find solace in cafes and under the awnings of fashion stores, but not warm enough to make you want to curse out everything around you. The perfect weather, really. It was on this day that Lee Felix decided to wear his Twice t-shirt. It was barely noticeable — just a little white logo on the breast. It looked like a regular black tee from a distance. But you noticed. Because not only did you want to get to know Felix, you were also a huge fan of Twice.
Felix gave you his usual order of a cappuccino and a chocolate scone and went back to his seat.  Felix liked Twice! You wondered who his bias was. Or what his favourite song was. It was really cool that Felix liked Twice right? You finally had something in common.
You drew a little Twice logo on the coffee foam. You didn’t even realize it. It was pretty usual for you to draw about what’s on your mind, and your cafe didn’t exactly have strict rules about foam art.
Felix was once again on his laptop today. You could recognize the colourful sticker-covered laptop from a mile away. His brows furrowed as he typed away, only getting up to collect his order. He was back in his seat and was about to continue whatever he was doing when he noticed the logo on his coffee, drawn on foam. His eyes widened slightly, his mouth broke into a grin. You noticed him getting his phone out and taking a picture before you had to attend to other customers.
-
It was a windy night. Felix was already in the cafe by the time your shift started, and was peacefully nibbling on a muffin while doing something on his laptop. His eyes never left the laptop screen. He checked his phone from time to time, but never spent more than a few seconds on it. From the looks of it, he was unaware of everything outside his screen and his table.
The closing shift never had a lot of customers. It was just Felix, you, and a couple of regulars in the little cafe.
And the regulars had already left by the time you were done cleaning up. It was five minutes until closing time, and Felix was still there, probably not knowing he was the last one there. You knew you had to tell him he had to leave soon, but you didn’t know exactly what to say. You weren’t the best at the closing shift.
You approached his seat awkwardly. “Excuse me…? Sir…?”, you said tentatively before gently tapping on the table.
Felix jumped slightly at the interruption. He quickly looked around the cafe. “Oh”, he said smally, “Am I the last one here?”
“Yes, and the cafe’s closing soon”, you said with a patient customer service smile.
“Sorry, I didn’t even realise”, he laughed. “I was working on some music and I guess I got carried away”
“Well,”, you struggled to find something to say,” If you like to sing, we have live music on Fridays”
What was that??? Who says that??
“I’ll keep that in mind”, he laughed, shutting the tabs on his laptop.
His phone screen played the Fancy MV, connected to headphones lying on the table. He was probably streaming it, and your mind raced at the conversation starter.
“You’re streaming Fancy!”,  you said without thinking. You immediately cursed yourself for not spending more time thinking about what to say. He barely knows you, for god’s sake.
Felix didn’t seem to mind. “You like Twice?” Felix said with raised eyebrows and a goofy grin.
“I do”, you replied, mirroring his grin, “Chaeyoung’s my bias.”
Felix's eyes widened. “Wait a second!”, he said,  “Were you the barista who drew the logo on my coffee yesterday?”
“That was me!”, you said laughing.
---
It was a sunny day - the kind where you technically could go out, but it was just a lot more comfortable staying inside. You started mixing Felix's drink as soon as he came to the counter. Felix looked pleasantly surprised. “Guess I don’t have to order anymore”
“I mean,” you said with your eyebrows raised, “You do have to try other drinks at some point, you know? You’ve ordered the a cappuccino and a chocolate scone everytime you came here, and they’re not even that good”
“Hey!” he cry-laughed. “Don’t you dare say that about my cappuccino.”
“By the way,” you added, “I think you’ll like the music today”
Felix raised his eyebrows. His lips quirked up when he realised a lo-fi playlist of Twice songs played through the speakers.
-
It was an average day -- the awkward phase between afternoon and evening, the weather so ordinary there was nothing to comment about it. Felix shaked his head as he reached the counter and saw you start to make his drink. “Oh I’m not having that today”
You raised your eyebrows, “Oh?”
“Yeah”, Felix said, fixing his posture and smirking. “I’ll have a black coffee, please”, he said in an over dramatic voice.
“Brave today, are we?”
“Yes, and”  he said like a child boasting about his most recent tag game, “I won’t add any sugar to it”
“Oh boy”, you sighed, shaking your head.
Five minutes later, Felix’s (black) coffee was ready. Five and a half minutes later, Felix’s black coffee was at his table. You watched as he took his first sip.  His entire face scrunched up at the bitter taste. He noticed you looking at him. He gave you a thumbs-up, still wearing the most pained expression known to man. Felix should not drink black coffee.
It was a windy day, the thick grey clouds above threatening to spill over during the night. Felix apparently wanted to prove a point, seeing as he once again ordered a black coffee (no sugar).
“But you hated it yesterday!”
“Clearly you didn’t see the thumbs up”
“Yeah, I was too busy looking at the agony on your face”
He pouted, “But I want a black coffee~”
You sighed. “This will be your villain origin story”.
Not surprisingly, Felix had the same expression of disgust as soon as the black coffee touched his lips. Still not surprisingly, he kept up the cool-edgy-guy-who-drinks-black-coffee schtick.
-
It was a cool yet humid day - the most polarising weather possible. It was a lonely afternoon with hardly any customers in the coffee shop. It was a weekday afternoon, after all. Felix came into the store wearing a black hoodie and a smug grin.
“Please don't tell me you want a black coffee”, you said even before he fully got to the counter. The boy clearly hated the bitterness, but wanted to prove a point anyway.
“Hey, this was your idea!”, he laughed.
“We have more than cappuccinos and black coffee, buddy. We don’t have to go into the extremes right away”
“Well I’m hoping that if I keep drinking the black coffee, I’ll get used to the disgustingness.”
You shook your head and laughed. “Tell you what,” you clapped your hands together, an idea hitting you. “I’ll play around with some ingredients and make you something I think you’ll like.”
“Ohhhh”, Felix said. "That sounds fun"
"Yes and maybe it'll help me add drinks to the menu too", you grinned.
"I shall not show you mercy, O worthy opponent". Felix spoke with a British accent, bowing to add some flair.
You played around with steamed milk, vanilla syrup, espresso, chocolate powder, and sugar. Plus whipped cream for good measure. A few minutes later, the drink was ready. Felix came up to the counter and looked at the drink in mock apprehension.
"I call it the Felixir", you said, . "Get it? Like Elixir?"
Felix let out a laugh.
“I know. It’s dumb. But!”, you said, "I played around with a bunch of stuff I know you like. It has chocolate, espresso, whipped cream and some other stuff. I have no idea how it tastes, but my barista senses told me this would be nice".
"I trust your barista senses". Felix took a sip of the Felixir.  Whipped cream made a button on his nose. Felix's lips curved into a smile. His half-moon smile shined through. "Your barista senses rock", he said, punching the air.
"Do you like it?"
"I LOVE it. I don't know how you got my favourite ingredients so spot on."
You laughed. "Barista instincts, my friend".
Felix took another sip, holding the cup with both hands.
"Anyway," you continued, "this one's on the house. You deserve it for enduring the black coffee".
"This is so much better than black coffee", he babbled. "Black coffee has so much caffeine in it?? I was practically vibrating all of yesterday".
"Black coffee is for people with a lot of shit to do and not enough energy to do them", you agreed. "This one has espresso too, and also a shit-ton of sugar, so you might still vibrate today, just letting you know."
"I'll take being a popular kid's iPhone if it means I can have whipped cream and caramel and the other stuff".
-
It was a sunny day. Ladies in sundresses waited for their dates outside the cafe.
“Not a lot of people here, huh?” Felix commented.
“It’s a weekday afternoon, what do you expect? Only teenagers on their lunch breaks come here. And you, for some reason”
“How could I stay away from my favourite barista?”
You rolled your eyes. “Since you’re here anyway, let’s talk. I’m bored.” Was that too blunt?
“Cool, what do you wanna talk about?”
“The meaning of life, God, or Twice. You pick”
“Trick question, Twice is God and the meaning of life”
“You’re too smart”
Felix stroked his hair back, “I know”
You roll your eyes. “What are your favourite songs by them?”
“Literally their entire discography, but Fancy or TT if I had to choose”
“Fuck yeah. Those songs are queens”
Felix looks at you approvingly. “We should hang out sometime”
-
It was a clear day. Trees danced around in the wind. Another afternoon where there was hardly anyone in the little coffee shop. Felix ordered his Felixir once again with a cheery tone. You spent some time cleaning up the kitchen and rearranging the items on display. Felix was waiting near the counter once you got done, absent-mindedly checking his phone. He put down his phone and gave you a bright smile when he noticed you coming back.
You smiled back. “What’s the occasion, bub?”
“Nothing, I’m just a little bored and I wanted to hang out with you”
“Well, there aren’t a lot of customers so I guess that works out perfectly”
“How’s your day going so far?”
“It’s pretty boring, to be honest. Maybe I’ll watch a movie when I get home. My shift ends in like half an hour.”
“Whaaat? I was planning to watch a movie too! I live right upstairs, actually”
“Really? That explains why you’re always here”, you laughed.
Felix laughed back. “I have nothing to do today”. Felix gave you an expectant look.
Oh.
“Me neither”, you said casually. “Do you think we should watch something together?”
“Yes!” He giggled. “I know I’m not the best with invites, but  I’m glad you picked that up”
“Honestly, I’m surprised I got that. I’m really awkward with invites too”
“More reasons to be friends, then”
“We live closer than I thought, by the way. I live across the street. It’s a five-minute walk.”
That afternoon was a pleasant one. Breeze played with the little children on the street. Felix and you were sprawled on the couch, mindlessly watching the trashy movie on TV. An orange cat ㅡ his roommate’s apparently ㅡ decided to laze around on Felix’s lap, his hand absentmindedly stroking its soft fur.
“Why are early 2000s movies so much more dramatic than they need to be?” Felix commented.
“Right? I remember watching this as a kid and it wasn’t half as bad”, you replied
“So it’s true then. Adulthood only makes things go downhill”
“Hey now you’re the one being dramatic”
“Wrong, I’m always dramatic”
“Your apartment is pretty nice, by the way.”
“Thank you. You’re free to come over whenever”
“Won’t your roommate mind?”
“Not really. Minho’s out most of the time and he brings over his friends all the time too.”
You smiled. “Hey also,”, you said. “Since we live pretty close by, we can hang out at my place some time too!”
“That sounds great”, he smiled widely.
-
It was a cool day. Most of your patrons huddled themselves in hoodies and cardigans. Felix ordered his drink before giving you a curious look. “Did you come to the cafe yesterday?”
“No, I didn’t have a shift. why?” you asked, slightly thrown off.
“Oh that explains it”, he said, “I came in yesterday and you weren’t there. The other barista didn’t know how to make my drink. Or even what it was, actually. And," he paused, "I missed talking to you”
An embarrassing smile crept up your face. “That’s so sweet”, you said, barely audible.
Felix was about to walk back to his table when you said “Hey actually,”
Felix turned around.
“I downloaded a really awful movie yesterday. Wanna make fun of it together at my place?” you said, just a little hint of nervousness in your voice. “My shift ends soon. But like, you don’t have to if you’re busy or something, we can always-”
“I’d love to,” he smiled.
The evening was breezy as you and Felix laughed over the hilariously, excruciatingly bad movie.  Felix and you bonded very fast, apparently. Felix was resting his head on your shoulder. It felt so… natural. It was effortless. And comfortable. It was as though your bodies just did what felt familiar to them. You felt Felix’s body shake every time he laughed. You added sarcastic retorts every now and then, Felix joining too. The movie was terrible. But this moment with Felix was beautiful.
-
It was a breezy summer day, about a month after Felix came over.
Loving Felix was easy. It was second nature. Felix just clicked with you. The line between friends and best friends blurred quickly. And based on how much he spammed you with messages and how much he visited the cafe and how diligently he memorized your schedule and how many times you hung out,  he loved you too.
Your phone buzzed.
felix:
are we doing anything today?
 maybe
im in the mood for hot dogs i think
oooooo should we go to the park then?
yes !!
after my shift sounds good?
yesss
(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*.✧
You used to find those emoticons cringey until Felix started using them. Now, it was just fucking adorable.
(。•̀ᴗ-)✧
The park was a few streets away. It was a big one. Preteens ran around and played frisbee with their friends or their dogs or their parents. But the two of you luckily found a park bench ever-so-slightly away from the noise and the chaos.
As you sat there talking about nothing and everything, you quietly took in Felix's features. His skin was radiant in the setting sun. His freckles, darker from the sunlight, looked like little flecks of chocolate. His eyes lit up whenever he talked about music. Or cooking. Or you. His cheeks rose and fell with his words, his eyes crinkling up when he smiled.
It was a beautiful moment. You lay your head on Felix's shoulder, half lost in thought. The sun painted the park in a subtle shade or orange. The kids around the park laughed and jumped, being loud and being kids. Felix had stopped talking by then, too busy taking in the sunset. His head rested on yours, your hands almost touching. It was a beautiful moment. But moments with Felix were always beautiful.
-
It was a cold night. You snuggled into your blankets, intently watching something on your phone.
Your phone buzzed. Felix sent you a meme.

It was a clear, pleasant afternoon, your curtains swaying in the breeze. The smell of freshly made cookies wafted through your apartment. Felix sat on top of your counter, his legs swinging. Felix took one of the newly-made cookies into his hand and regarded it intently. “Looks pretty good so far. It’s a little bit hard but that’s obvious, we added a lot of ingredients and didn’t adjust the flour properly”
“So much for experimentation”
“We did add a lot of fun stuff though, so my money’s on it tasting good”.
You both bit into a cookie. It was… alright. It wasn’t bad, but you expected it to taste a lot better or a lot worse. You both gave each other disappointed smiles. “Underwhelming.”
“But hey! It wasn’t bad!” Felix added.
“True. Still thought the cookies would be more… more. You know?”
“I know. But who cares about that?” Felix put his arm on your shoulder, “Making this with you was the most fun I had in a while and I couldn't care less what they ended up tasting like.”
You let out a small smile. “I love you”
“And I love you”
You looked up at him. His soft brown eyes were warm with affection.
“Now,” Felix continued, “The cookie dough’s gotta be better right?”
You laughed. “The cookie dough is chocolate sludge at this point”
“Yeah, maybe using M&Ms as chocolate chips was a bit much”
“Probably. But let’s race. Whoever finds the most M&Ms in the dough wins.”
“I already know I’m winning”.
-
It was a drizzly night. Streetlights reflected on the wet asphalt outside Felix’s apartment. Felix and you had decided to have an impromptu sleepover. It was almost 3am, both of you slightly delirious from the caffeine and the staying up. You were yelling at the TV, desperately trying to get your character to do something, damn it. Felix just smirked beside you, his character easily attacking yours. He was choosing not to kill you quickly, which was almost more annoying than dying straight away. It wasn’t long before Felix won the game. You pouted in annoyance.
“Maybe I should start killing you quickly so you won’t be loud and Minho won’t yell at us for making noise”
“This game sucks”, you pouted.
“You’re just new to it. Did you know you can do twice as much damage if you press B after you attack?”
“Really?”
“Yeah! And do you know how to dodge?”
“No” you said like a kid admitting to breaking something.
“Why did you make me skip the tutorial?”, Felix laughed.
“The past is in the past, Felix. How do I dodge?”
Felix spent a few minutes teaching you which buttons do what and which attacks are effective when. It only took a few slightly frustrating runs before you almost came close to beating him. Maybe he was going easy on you, but that didn’t matter. It was fun.
“You are learning, my protégé”, he said approvingly.
-
It was a chilly evening. Old white sheets lay spread out on your bedroom floor, your furniture haphazardly moved to the living room.  Felix had texted you earlier that day, promising to help you paint your room. You were almost done painting half a wall when you heard his familiar deep voice. “Hey! Missed you.”
“Missed you more”, you smiled.
“What do you need me to do? How may I be of assistance?” he curtsied.
You rolled your eyes. “Just grab a paint brush and do that wall over there. Just make sure it's even and don’t get any on your clothes.”
“You say that with a million paint splatters on you”, he laughed.
Felix got to work. Neither of you really talked. It seemed that Felix was lost in thought, letting his hands do the painting. But it was fine. Because moments with Felix were always beautiful, even the silences.
You were finished with your first wall when you decided to play calm music on your phone. Soothing guitar chords filled the silence.
It was hard to keep track of time. Five songs? Six songs? Maybe an hour? Both of you had made a lot of progress with the walls. It didn’t matter.  What did matter was Felix. Halfway through the third or fourth song, you noticed Felix singing to himself.
It was barely audible, he probably wasn’t even aware of it. But his voice was soothing. And soft.
You had never heard him sing before. You wished you did. You could listen to it forever. Felix’s singing voice felt like sweaters and cozy winter days.
You didn’t say anything. You knew he’d be embarrassed if he knew you noticed. But the rest of the painting session gave you butterflies, to say the least.
-
It was a chilly day. Felix was hunched over his stovetop making ramen while you dramatically read out a fanfic to him from the table. You just finished the kissing scene when Felix let out a disappointed sigh.
“I know right?” You commented.
“I don’t get it. Don’t you think they’d make way more sense as just friends?”
“Waaaay more sense. I feel like the kiss scene is just so unnecessary.”
“I don’t get why writers think everything should have romance in it. I mean, love is friendship right? I mean, for me, it is.”
Your heart stopped. A smile crept up your face. You continued reading out the fanfic, but you didn’t focus on it at all. Because Felix said love is friendship. Love is friendship. Love is friendship!
-
It was a cold night. You were all bundled up in bed with a hoodie and a blanket. Felix was on the phone with you, refusing to hang up despite being half-asleep.
“Seriously Felix, you can’t even keep your eyes open”
“Mm. But I want to talk to you”, he yawned. His half-asleep voice was deeper than usual and very quiet.
“Alright bub. What do you want to talk about?” You started to feel sleepy too.
“I don’t know. Maybe how amazing you are?”
You laughed. “Fuck off”
“No but… your hair is so soft. And your coffee is really good. And you’re awesome. What the heck. I love you.” he said. He spoke slowly. You could tell he was almost asleep.
“I love you too you beautiful bastard”
You were met with the sounds of soft breathing.
Felix was very endearing when he was half-asleep.
-
It was a rainy day, rain knocking against Felix’s living room windows. Felix shared a blanket with you atop the couch. You leaned on Felix, your head on his chest. His heartbeat  synced with the rain on the window. Felix’s arm draped your side. Both of you focused on the movie in front of you. It was a good one so far. The plot was well written, and the actors were doing a good job.
A door creaked open behind you. Felix and you turned to look at the source.
Felix's roommate, Minho  entered the living room. He looked well dressed in a leather jacket and chunky black boots. "Do you think Jisung will like the jacket?", he asked Felix.
"He's gonna love it", Felix replied, smirking.
“Alright, I gotta go”, Minho said, picking up his umbrella and walking to the door. He looked at you. “Sorry we couldn’t talk today, y/n, but have fun with your boyfriend”.
He was already out the door before either of you could protest. Felix looked at you awkwardly before turning back to the TV. Felix was not your boyfriend. And clearly he wasn’t very comfortable being called that. To be fair, neither were you.
“I’m sorry about him”, he sighed. Both of you looked everywhere but each other.
“Don’t be," you said, “ I know people think we’re dating because we’re comfortable with each other and stuff.”
“Right. But hey, you’re my best friend and you always will be.”
You smiled. “You too”.
It was nice being best friends with Felix. Everytime you’ve been this close with someone, they all seemed to expect more. They all seemed to expect romance. But that just didn’t work for you. Romance was weird.
You’re my best friend and you always will be.
Felix wouldn’t mind, would he? Probably not. But what if he’s mad you didn’t tell him yet? What if he thinks you don’t trust him? Or maybe his whole view on you will change and maybe he won’t like you after that. What if that happens?
You’re my best friend and you always will be.
You’re his best friend and you always will be. It’ll be alright. It’ll be harder the longer you wait right?
What if he really will be mad at you though? He’s your best friend, why haven’t you told him yet?
A mere few seconds passed before you shifted off his chest. Felix sat up, sensing your tension. He paused the movie. "Y/N?"
Fuck it. It’s too late to ignore this now. You looked into his eyes before turning away.  “I’ve been holding off on telling you something.”
Felix’s voice filled with concern. “Tell me.”
You took a breath, trying to keep yourself from panicking. You were too nervous to look at him. “Minho joked about us being together and I know neither of us see each other in a romantic way, but I just… I don’t know why I haven’t told you this yet. But… it’s not just you. I don’t feel romantic attraction to anyone. I’m aromantic.”
Felix put his hand on your shoulder and moved closer to you. Your thoughts were still racing, your heart rate still high, your breath still shaky. You were still too nervous to look at him.
You kept going, “I haven’t told you this. I know. And I’m sorry. But you’re still my best friend and I hope you don’t think I don’t trust you or something. I love you, okay? I just… I guess I just don’t like coming out. But I just had to today for some reason. I’m sorry if this makes you view me differently.” You thoughts were still racing after you said what you wanted to say. Your hands shook slightly.
And Felix noticed all of that.
He put his hand on top of yours. “Y/N”, he said gently.
You hesitated, then looked at him. His eyes were warm. His smile was understanding - the smile of someone who’s done this before. The smile of someone who’s already dealt with the emotions you were having. He gently pushed your head back onto his chest. “Breathe with me.”
His chest raised as he took a breath. You closed your eyes and took a breath too. He let it out in a few seconds. So did you. He took in another breath.
Felix spoke softly. “Coming out is hard. Even if it’s to someone you love. What you just did there takes so much courage. And I’m so, so proud of you. I love you so much. And our love doesn’t have to be romantic for it to be deep. I love you. And nothing will change that.”
You buried yourself in his chest.
His chest rose and fell with every breath he took. You breathed with him. His heartbeat was calming.
I love you. And nothing will change that.
“Thank you.” you said. “For everything.”
“You don’t have to thank me.”
“Felix?”
“Yeah?”
“Is it weird?”, you said quietly, “That we’re always so close together? I really like being with you. And hugging you. And cuddling you. But I won’t do it if it makes you uncomfortable.”
“No. It’s not weird. Not to me. I love this. And we can do this all day long without it meaning anything more than friendship.” Felix gave you a forehead kiss. “Besides,” he said, “What good are best friends if they don’t give you hugs?”
You hugged him tighter. “I love you so much”
“I love you so much too.” His voice was warm and kind and understanding. You didn’t bother holding back the tears.
Lee Felix was a sweet boy. And Lee Felix was the sun, giving you warmth and love and reasons to wake up. Lee Felix was a sweet boy. And the universe was a thing of beauty to let your love shine through.

Shortly after the final bows, after the applause died down and the theatre went silent and dark, Naseem shot out a group text message.
[SMS: Naseem] yoooo our boy did it! we partying 2nite!
Naseem’s phone pings with text messages flooding with congratulations. Unfortunately, with both the baby and his big sister crying in her ear, Ashari couldn’t come. But Mike, Tarsha, and Adel are game, meeting up with Pete and Naseem back at the diner that tolerated their previous rendezvous.
Beer, chips, dip -- much like in the play that Peter finally, finally, had a starring role in, and the glory of it sang through his blood as he shoveled chips heavy with sour cream and chives into his mouth. And as he washed it down with his drink, Naseem clapped between his shoulders.
“You guys should have seen it, he was perfect!” Naseem said. “He had it all down pat! Flow, rhythm, cadence, it was--!” He kissed the tips of his fingers.
“Can’t wait to finally be able to see it,” Adel said, reaching for the bowl of chips.
“Yeah, man, me, too.” Tarsha frowned down at the table, twirling her bottle around. “Sorry we keep missing it. Wish I didn’t have this stupid legal shit going on.”
Peter set his bottle down and shrugged. “Eh, no worries. The video should be up in a couple months.”
“’Til then,” Mike said from behind the back of his hand, wiping at the bit of foam at the corner of his mouth, “I wanna see how good you got. Take something back to the Big Guy at the ring. You got anything for me?”
Peter nibbled at the corner of his lip and looked at Naseem, who slowed his chewing as he met Peter’s eyes. He gestured for Peter to go on, and Peter reached down to dig out his notepad from his messenger bag.
Straightening up and flipping through the pages, Peter stated, “I have a few lines here and there. Not really whole songs, but a start.”
“Let’s hear it,” Mike said. He set his empty bottle aside and crossed his arms on the table, leaning forward. Adel and Tarsha also watched, Tarsha holding her bottle and Adel setting his chin into his hand.
Peter cleared his throat and lied the notepad flat on the table. “Right...!” He drew on the energy of post-show bliss to still the nerves. No jitters. No doubt. He started beating on the table, a bmp-pap,bmp-bmp-bmp-pap of his fist and open palm.
Keep ya sis away from me, or she’ll be soda          Get her cherry popped          Give her a l’il sip she won’t wanna stop          Then clean my teeth, cuz I gotta keep it minty fresh          For those sponsorships from Colgate and Crest         Gotta tie ya name brand to tha best          And get them stacks           Like I got ya Mama and ya girl on their backs
“And that’s all...I...” Peter then noticed the silence that hung over the table, the struggling smiles and widen eyes. “...have.. so far...”
Mike blinked, staring into the table just like Adel was, and slowly shaking his head. “Wow, that was... that was something...”
Tarsha covered her mouth with her hand. “Oh, my god, this baby is a virgin...” Peter could still hear her giggle.
          “I--!” Peter started to protest.
“Agh, geez, Peter...” Naseem groaned. Peter glanced at him to find Naseem folding his hands over his face. “That’s... I’m sorry, man, that’s just trash.”
If steam could materialize out of Peter’s body, there would have been huffs of it blowing out of his nose as he shoved his notepad into his back pocket and snatched up his bottle. “It’s a fucking first draft.”
“I don’t know how many drafts can fix that, bruh,” Mike said, still looking down at the table, though his body took to shaking in a laugh that was barely contained.
Peter folded his arms on the table, his face hardened and pink. “Forget it.”
“Awww, don’t pout, baby!” Tarsha cooed. She reached over and patted Peter’s arm. “You got something there! It jussss ha ha ha ha ha ha!”
And Peter’s face hardened further, eyes kept forcefully away from the woman as she bent over the table and wrapped her arm around her stomach.
“Whatever! Just forget it!” And Peter grabbed a handful of chips to stuff into his mouth.
Naseem lowered his hands and lied the palms flat down. “...Okay, so maybe some of the lessons didn’t take. You still did good onstage, and that’s what we were focusing on, anyway.”
And there was something about Naseem’s statement that had Peter wishing that his mentor would just laugh it off instead; have his shits and giggles like Tarsha was before she managed to calm herself. It seemed so... dismissive, despite it being an attempt at consoling. “I can... I’m gonna work on it some more. It’s just a rough draft.”
“I know, Pete, I know.” Naseem raised his hand to beckon the waiter over. “How about some cake? I could go for some cheesecake.”
        Peter jerked a shoulder. “Whatever.”
Adel scrunched his face, then looked up at Peter, confusion narrowing his eyes. “’Or she’ll be soda’?”
--
It took three rounds of cake to repair Peter’s ego before they had to call it a night. With the box of leftover cake slices on his lap, Peter sat with Naseem in the mostly empty parking lot. He stared into the darkness that swallowed his feet, the place where the streetlight above them couldn’t reach.
“...Mike’s not gonna let me in that rap royale, isn’t he?” Peter mumbled.
Naseem shrugged and shook his head. “Not anytime soon, at least.” He turned to Peter. “What was that? Aren’t you reading the books Sheer gave you? Or listening to the music I told you about?”
“I am! Oh, my god, that is what I literally read and listen to every day!” Peter groaned.
“Then what--” Naseem gestured, his hands jerking aimlessly.
“A... rough draft?” Peter tried once more.
Quiet filled the car, with Naseem staring out into the windshield and shaking his tilted head. “...Are there any more?”
        “...Yeah.”
Naseem held his hand out to his passenger. “Lemme see.”
Peter reached behind himself and pulled out the notepad. He handed it over and slumped back into his seat. He watched from the corner of his eye as Naseem’s face stretched, twisted, scrunched, his head still shaking and his mouth moving silently, but in a way that Peter knew was one disapproval after the other.
By the time Naseem was finished and handed the notepad back, his face settled on the narrow-eyed scowl of the neutrally unimpressed.
“Alright, Chief,” Peter began as she shoved the notepad back into his pocket. “What’s the diagnosis?”
“I don’t know how, and I don’t know why, but you just flew allllll the way back to square one,” Naseem said. "I think you... regressed... because that’s the only thing you know. For someone who’s up for anything, you get scared venturing into something more meaningful. This empty, crotch-grabbing, pants-sagging shit is too easy. And not you. You can do better than this.”
Peter pursed his lips and toyed with the edge of the cake box. “Okay, fine then. Let’s say that’s true. What do you supposed I do?”
          “Write what you know.”
Peter snorted. “Wow, that won’t make for many songs, I’m afraid.”
“Well...” Naseem slid the key into the ignition and started the car. “Then crack open a book and learn, little grasshopper.”

Latest Story: Perfect Doesn’t Need to be Perfect
(Thank you to my husband for coming up with this story’s title)
I’m back! Well... I’m sorta back. I had every intention of having this story DONE by yesterday so I could promote it in a blog update today, and when that didn’t happen I hoped to have it done by tomorrow at the latest...  ya know, because the end of Christmas season and all, but that is definitely not happening either.
So, instead, I’m waving the white flag. I’m just publishing the first 3 chapters tonight. I’m aiming to drop the next 3 tomorrow, another 3 chapters on the 7th, and the final 3 on the 8th; assuming I can actually get myself situated enough to get this story done by then.
Also, I completely hijacked this entire story off of @thetauruspixie, and thus, as a thank you for unofficially letting me run away with her Muse, I gift this story unto her.
Thank you, Pixie, for the glorious story Twelve Days of Chatmas. It is truly the gift that keeps on giving as my reread on AO3 this past Christmas inspired Perfect Doesn’t Need to be Perfect. I had been severely struggling with being even remotely creative in 2020, and barely wrote anything. You, Pixie, gave me back my inspiration. Thank you. And thanks for the piggyback ride here. I hope you enjoy my interpretation of your fantastic story.

See below for chapter 1, or find this story over on AO3, on FFN, or on DA.
CHAPTER 1:
Ladybug paced the rooftop her and Chat Noir agreed upon as a meeting spot. They were supposed to go on patrol nearly ten minutes ago, and he was still nowhere to be seen. It wasn't like him to be late for patrol; for any sort of scheduled meet-up with her, actually. If anything, he was typically the one waiting, eager to spend as much time as possible together.
“It's getting close to Christmas,” she reminded herself. “Maybe he's caught up in some family festivities or something. He's fine.” She tried picturing him hanging up Christmas ornaments on a tree, which ended up a bit amusing since she could only picture him how she knew him: as Chat Noir. She imagined him perched on his extended stick so he could reach the top of the tree to place the star or secure the lights or sprinkle some tinsel on everything. Ladybug then had a nice little chuckle at the idea of Chat Noir just tossing tinsel like some overly enthusiastic flower girl.
“Yeah,” she breathed out in assurance, “he's just covered in tinsel right now, or tangled up in lights, or freaking out his family as he juggles the Christmas ornaments or something. He's fine, just lost track of the time. That's all.” She let out a shaky sigh and checked her yo-yo again.
No akuma alerts, so at least it seemed fine that their patrol was starting late, and Chat Noir wasn't caught up in a battle she didn't know about. Ladybug again walked the length of the roof, hoping maybe Chat Noir was just out of view of where she was waiting. Still nothing.
Another check of her yo-yo. No messages from Chat Noir either.
“Where are you?” she asked the wind.
The sun was nearly set. While Paris was typically lit up fairly brightly at night – especially with all the added illuminated Christmas decorations – and she could see well enough, it still bothered her that she no longer had the daylight for their patrol. Potential akuma victims could be hiding in the shadows, trying to find somewhere to be alone with their pain, and she'd have a much harder time finding them now. She really needed Chat Noir to help her, and he was over ten minutes late.
Where is he? Did he forget? She opened her yo-yo once more. Still no messages from him. Her thumbs hovered over the touch screen as she debated sending him a text or calling him. With an audible sigh and drooping of her shoulders, she closed her yo-yo again. There was no point; he wouldn't be able to get the messages unless he was Chat Noir, and if he was powered up he should be coming to meet up with her.
“Please be okay.” Her fingers gently brushed across her yo-yo, hoping for some sort of contact from her partner. Shaking the nerves loose, she paced the rooftop once more. “Five more minutes. Then I'll just patrol on my own. He's fine. He probably just forgot. Or he got caught up in something. Or-”
As she turned a corner she spotted him. Chat Noir stood on a rooftop across the street from where she was waiting. He was just staring at her with a goofy smile on his face. No. He wasn't staring at her, he was staring past her, as if he were lost in thought or something.
“Chat Noir?” She was getting worried and he was lazily daydreaming? Without so much as a text to let her know he was alright and on his way? How long had he been standing there?
Chat Noir jumped when Ladybug called out to him; ripped out of his reverie. He blinked a few times, clearly trying to catch his bearings as she walked to the back ledge of the roof she was on.
“I was starting to get worried. Where were you? What are you doing standing over there?” Before he could answer, Ladybug lassoed the chimney beside him with her yo-yo and swung herself over to him. As soon as she landed she rushed to Chat Noir to look him over to make sure he was alright. He didn't seem to be puppeted by an akumatized villain, but she wasn't sure how to be certain about that.
Chat Noir didn't answer her. He didn't move. He simply gulped as she stretched her body out to get a good look at his eyes. They weren't glazed over like they tend to be when he was being controlled. Ladybug couldn't figure out why he was acting so strange.
“Okay, now I'm really worried.” She waved a hand in front of his face and watched as his eyes followed it. “You're never this quiet. Has something happened?”
“No!” Chat Noir snapped back to normal as he blurted out the first thing Ladybug heard from him all night. He gave her his goofy grin that he clearly thought looked suave. His eyes had their usual twinkle. He was fine, a bit distant at first, but now he was himself again.
Tension released from Ladybug's shoulders and neck, but her face still scrunched in confusion. Where was he just a moment ago, and why hadn't he tried to contact her?
“Then what's going on? Why were you so late?” As she asked the questions she wondered if he could even answer. If it was something that might reveal who he is would he withhold that info, or use this as an excuse to drop her hints?
No, she told herself, he knows the rules. He may want us to know who the other is, but he wouldn't purposefully try to reveal himself or figure out who I am.
“I...errr...” He started scratching the back of his head as he broke eye contact.
It was something personal, and I'm over here demanding to know! I'm such an idiot! Ladybug berated herself. As she opened her mouth to tell him to not worry about it, he preemptively cut her off.
“I-I got you a Christmas present.” This was the most nervous she had seen Chat Noir. To know it was over him getting her a present was kind of adorable. “Well,” he continued with a small squeak in his voice, “made you a Christmas present.”
Ladybug took a step back as she finally noticed Chat Noir had been protectively cradling something in his hands. He shot it forward to show her his surprise.
He held out a tiny terra cotta pot barely five centimeters tall and fitted snugly with white foam. Sticking out of the foam was a charming, albeit clumsily cut out, card stock tree with curving branches. Almond-shaped leaves cut out of green construction paper and doused in green glitter filled out the tree in a fluffy circle arching around the trunk. It must have taken him hours to cut out and glue on the dozens of leaves, and Ladybug could picture the poor guy still finding the green glitter in his home for months to come with the amount he used. Plump looking pears were cut out of yellow-green construction paper and scattered throughout the tree. Perched atop the trunk, nestled within the main Y of the branches, was an adorably round bird made out of brown card stock with little gray accents colored in with marker. The smallest wooden clothespin Ladybug had ever seen was painted red and glued onto the bird for its beak. Clasped within the beak was an equally tiny note with Ladybug delicately written across the front of it. The finishing touch, however, were the two dozen or so red valentine hearts – also cloaked in glitter; Chat Noir's poor table – hung throughout the pear tree sculpture like romantic Christmas ornaments.
There were bits where the glue was clumped and poking out from behind the leaves or hearts, and some of the hearts were cockeyed or stuck to the trunk instead of the leaves and branches; clearly they had shifted before the glue could dry and he hadn't noticed. The tree also leaned forward a bit from the weight of the clothespin and note not being counterbalanced. The whole thing was a bit unpolished, and a bit rushed in places, but it was also clear that so much time and dedication and effort was put into it. The little card stock tree was a bit goofy and clumsy, and maybe not the most well thought out, but it was also endearing in its imperfections. This project was just so Chat Noir that Ladybug couldn't think of a more perfect present.
“Aww, Chat Noir, you didn't have to-”
A sharp winter wind startled them as it whipped past, tilting Ladybug slightly off balance with its force. The tree did not fair as well.
Chat Noir stared in shock, one eye twitching, as he held tight to the pot. The card stock tree was nearly ripped out of the foam; dangling by a small corner as the trunk itself, now terribly bent, leaned against the side of the pot. A good quarter of the leaves that weren't quite dry were either shifted out of place or blown off completely. Three of the pears were lost to the wind, and the rest were stuck to the trunk of the tree or the edge of the pot. Not a single heart ornament remained. The partridge now dangled upside down on one of the branches, with the note ripped where the wind tried to tear it from the faithful grip of the wooden beak. A long glue smear trailed behind the paper bird, and glitter was stripped from the leaves the partridge passed through.
All of that work, and one good gust wrecked it. Ladybug knew that pain all too well.
“Chat Noir, are-”
“And this wasn't it! This wasn't the present I got you.” Chat Noir forced laughter and too broad of a smile as he took a step away from Ladybug. “As if I would get you something so horrible.”
Ladybug's face fell into a little pout. It pained her that he thought so poorly of his gift. “Chat Noir, it's fi-”
“Next time I see you, I'll give you the present you deserve.” Both of their eyes drifted to the damaged pear tree sculpture. “This was just a joke.” Chat Noir gestured with the pot and then forced another laugh. “But I promise,” he continued, taking a few more retreating steps, “that you shall have a Christmas present worthy of someone as amazing as you! You'll see!” He hastily placed the pot on the roof as he took his stick off his back. The second the pot was out of his hand, the stick extended to jettison Chat Noir into the sky.
“Chat Noir! Wait!” Ladybug rushed towards him, arm outstretched. “What about-”
He propellered his stick to glide a few houses down the street; definitely out of earshot. In a flash he was leaping across the Seine and was gone.
“-patrol,” Ladybug finished with a sigh. It was probably too late to bother anyway. Plus, her heart wasn't really in it either, not after her partner was so crushed.
She bent down and gingerly picked up the little sculpture off the roof. Turning it slowly in her hands, she admired the craftsmanship Chat Noir had put into this immensely heartfelt gift. Picking at the partridge, the bird slid some more; the glue still hadn't set. She glanced in the direction that Chat Noir disappeared, and gave a little smile and knowing head shake. She delicately played more with the bird until she could wiggle it free of the sculpture. Placing the pot back on the rooftop, she opened up the magical pocket within her yo-yo, and placed the bird and note gently inside. Next were the pears and loose leaves. As she stood back up a few of the hearts caught her eye. She managed to collect five of them and put those in her yo-yo as well. Once she believed she had cleaned up as much of Chat Noir's project as she could find, she cradled the sculpture and started home.
She was determined to find a way to prove to Chat Noir how precious this present was to her. In the meantime, her mind whirled with gift ideas for him in return.

A speck of foam
So I saw @miraculous-of-salt s Eden AU and I was struck with the overwhelming urge to add some felinette
So here we go!
................
Most people believe that one of the most illusive cities in the world, Eden, has been given its name because of its strict control over tourism and visitors, like the famous forbidden garden. In reality it’s because Eden is the most environmentally friendly city in the world.
Those who visit report seeing trees growing through the roofs of houses, and the roads made of naturally mined rock.
Bridgette Cheng, mayor of Eden, states, on the eco friendly nature of her city, “It’s not that much of a big deal, we’re a small city, we can afford to build around nature.”
And build around nature, they have, most houses are described as having “vines for walls” and “the brightest paint jobs imaginable.”
Marinette puffed air from her nose, a hanging fern tickling her cheek. She was hidden against the peach toned walls of her aunt Bridgette’s home.
She had come to visit for the summer after “The great betrayal” as she called it.
During multicultural week at school, her aunt had came to tell the class all about Eden. Lila, however, highjacked their attention before she got the chance. She fed them all sorts of lies under the blanket lie of “I volunteered there once, for a whole year.” Not only were they lies, but her spiel was coated in all sorts of slurs.
The whole class, except herself, Nino, Chloe, and Sabrina, failed the test entirely. They were being held back until they could pass it.
Most of the class, she knew, were studying all they could about it so they could move up before the summer was over. She had high hopes for them and was willing to do all she could to guide them in their studying.
She sighed from behind the cool green vines. Alya was struggling, though, she couldn’t separate Lila’s lies from reality.
Marinette stifled a giggle as her father walked out with twigs in his hair from the giant tree.
“Marinette?” He yelled, looking helplessly at the walls.
She puffed through her nose again, shrinking further into the wall, feeling like a child again.
Growing up she would hide in the vines often, and her dad, tall as he may be, could never find her. She would stay in the vines for as long as she could, until Tom threatened her with-
“Okay... if I can’t find you, I guess you can stay there. And miss the trip to the town square with your aunt.” As he turned around, Marinette launched herself at him.
“No! No, I want to come!”
“Then go get ready, you’re going to be there for a while.”
Eden is spectacular for another reason; the citizens’ midnight blue hair. It’s a spectacular genetic disorder that causes their hair to fade to blue in the sunlight. After five minutes in the sun, the exposed strands will be blue permanently.
The disorder is passed on, generation to generation. Every child with even a hint of Eden in them will be born with the blue hair. This is one of the ways Eden identifies outsiders.
Another such way is clothing. All of Eden’s citizens dress themselves in bright, bold colors. Outsiders, particularly ones not directly related by marriage, will wear varied shades of grey.
Often times in-laws and cousins will have to wear the greys, as they aren’t married to a Eden citizen. Diplomats and reporters will also be found dressed in grey.
Marinette could barely contain herself as her eyes drifted over the seas of deep blue hair around her.
Back in Paris, she had always been viewed as strange by people, even her friends. Chloe had tried targeting her hair color but that was stamped out immediately by the administration.
Her eyes snagged on a small dot of white, stationary in the flowing crowd. A speck of foam in her perfect blue sea.
As she moved forwards with her aunt, she noticed the speck of foam was a boy, not much older than her. He had a grey vest and tie on, paired with a white dress shirt and dark grey slacks.
He was looking around helplessly, likely trying to find a sense of where he was.
“Aunt Bridgette?” Her aunt looked down at her. “Can I go help him and catch up with you later?”
Bridgette smiled and nodded, passing Marrinette two all access passes. “Remember, I have a jury trial at two-thirty, so if you get there around then, just wait in my office.”
Marinette grinned and skipped a towards the bewildered speck of foam.
“Hello, I’m Marinette. You look a little lost, do you need any help?”
The boy looked at her for a moment and nodded. “My name is Felix, I am rather lost. Would you mind helping me get to this address?”
He showed her a sheet of paper with an address written neatly in cursive.
Marinette thought for a moment and nodded. “Yeah, I can take you there. Come on.” She grabbed his hand and started pulling him towards the nearest tunnel.
“Wait, where are we going? What’s down there?”
“Have you been on a subway?” She looked at him, reading the panic on his face.
“Yes…”
“This is more or less the same,” she let a wicked smile grow on her face, “just more fun.”
The transportation system of Eden is unlike any others. It’s full of underground slides that travel all over Eden. There are two slide for every area, one to and one from.
The system works in such a way that a person is strapped to a cart and sent down the slide, with a cord of a certain length tied to the back.
Once the cord reaches its end, the cart stops at its destination and a winch begins to pull the cart back up the slide by its cord.
It’s just another one way Eden protects the environment while accomplishing everything other cities do.
Marinette giggled as she fiddled with Felix’s hair. “First time in the tunnels?”
He coughed and his cheeks tinted pink. “Yes... it was interesting, to say the least.”
“I remember my first time,” she remissed, “I was so tiny.”
“Forgive me for saying, but… you still are.”
“Ah!” She gasped and shoved him. “And here I thought we were friends.”
“Of course we are, my dear Marinette,” he knelt and grasped her hand, “can you ever forgive me?”
When they finally reached Eden’s justice building, Felix stopped.
Marinette turned to see tears in his eyes. “Hey... What’s wrong?”
“I just…” He took a deep breath. “This case is going to determine a good part of my future, whether I get to have a family.”
“What?”
“I don’t have parents.” He declared bluntly. “These people met me and wanted to adopt me, but Eden’s never delt with an adoption case before, they’re fighting for me.”
“Oh... Felix,” she rested her hand on his shoulder, “let’s just wait in my aunts office, you don’t have to go into that room.”
“Yes, thank you.”
Eden is known as a “the city of beauty,” because of not only the kind and giving nature of its citizens, but the natural light it uses when the sun goes down.
It’s common knowledge that Eden’s main export is gemstones. The precious rocks are integral in Eden’s native culture.
One stone that they refuse to export is called “Moonglow Stone.” It acts similar to the moon in the way it reflects light, but solely the moons light.
All of Eden’s roads are paved in Moonglow and the buildings are speckeled with its shine. When the sun goes down, the whole town is illuminated in the pale, tinted light.
Marinette walked home, arm in arm with Felix, chatting up a storm.
When Bridgette entered her office the first thing Marinette did was ask if Felix got adopted.
The minute the first letter poured from her mouth, Marinette was laughing with glee and pulling Felix, who had a rather stunned look on his face, close to her.
As it turned out, the man adopting Felix was Bridgette’s next door neighbor, Charles Culpa.
Bridgette and Charles were quite close friends and were having a calm conversation while the buildings slowly began to glow in the absence of the sun.
“Felix, look!” Marinette pointed at the Eden Spire, the center of the city. “It’s happening!”
The spire’s stones began to illuminate, starting at the bottom and making their way to the top at a snails pace.
When it was finished, the tower was a myriad of pastel shades. Marinette smiled softly, tilting her head. It felt like home again.
She felt a squeeze on her hand and looked down to see Felix’s fingers laced with hers. She felt her smile growing as she squeezed his hand back.
While Paris is the city of love, Eden and the surrounding area has been known as the place of soulmates.
“It’s not always romantic love,” an anonymous source declares, “its an unspoken bond that can be platonic as well.”
The first feeling a blue haired citizen of Eden will have when they find their bond is called “Star glitter,” which is deep seeded in old Eden mythology.
Marinette sighed, content as she stared out the window at the moon. Her letter to Nino was almost finished.
Just before she signed her name, a flash of white caught her eye. She followed it and saw Felix, rearranging his room.
He pushed the desk up to the window and sat down pulling out a notebook and sketching in it.
She felt her heart flutter as she observed the dillegent look on his face.
Nope, no, no stalking, Marinette!
She pulled down the blinds and hid her burning face in her hands. When she looked up, she saw the remnants of the glitter she was using on her newest design.
It shined like stars.

Which day was it out there, you did not know. Nor did you even bother to care. When you chose to be stuck in the confines of your room, how could you?
In the midst of sleep, you were a frequent guest. You were always ready to be after all the crying. With your cheeks stained with tears, you were moisturized enough to lay your face on the pillow and drift into a place where nothing had happened and you felt nothing. Eating seemed unnecessary, so you did less of it. Talking had no place in your heart either, thus you barely heard your own voice. For even when you cried, it was silent and soulless. Your mother was worried, so were your sisters, both of them. Every now and then, you’d hear them talk. Through the door in hopeful attempts to cheer you up, but they received no answer. To be frank, this ordeal was not much of an ordeal altogether. But it turned out to be one with the wrong timing. A period of time that left you vulnerable and in need of love and protection.
Four days later, the phone rang loudly for you. It was only informed to you through Maggie’s knocks on the door. After giving in to her insistence, you forced yourself out of bed, to walk out to the living room.
“Hello?” You answered in a throaty voice.
“Fuckin’ Hell!” Heath, your friend replied, “Y/N, you sound like shit”
You rolled your eyes with annoyance.
“I’m hanging up now” “NO WAIT WAIT!”
Heath was quick to respond with an apologetic tone,“Look…” he sighed, before continuing, “I heard everything from your sister. You can’t just stay locked up in your room forever, Y/N” he said, sounding genuinely concerned, “How about we blow off some steam, eh?”
“And how do you propose we do that exactly?” You asked with snark. “Dancing, my love!”
Although he could not see your reaction, you were not hesitant to shake your head furiously. “Oh no no no, Heath No-” “Come ON! Y/N!” He interrupted, “You always held yourself back when me and the lads from Uni would go…” he added, “Besides, you’re a great dancer, so it’s really a waste!” “I…uh…” you paused, struggling to respond. He does make some convincing points.

“Please Y/N, say yes. You’ll finally get to meet Liza”

“Is she the new one?”

“Yeah…” Heath said, “Come on! You know it’s going to be fun. Please, Y/N! I miss my friend”
And there he went, putting the friend card in the conversation. For a second, you could sense a hint of sadness in his voice. As if he really meant those words. As this was the first ever time Heath had gone out of his way to call you. To even check up on you, guilt came over you much faster than expected. You sighed to surrender.
“Alright…I’m in”

(Friday night)
After feeding your ears to sombre, sad music for five days straight, your body felt reborn when the festive, groovy songs called to you from the distance.
Stepping into the club, the disco lights greeted you, resting on your body, washing all over you. Fully refreshed by the illumination, you felt the depression within you disappear altogether.
Heath picked you up from home that evening. His new girlfriend Liza, was a pleasant girl to be around, so you did not mind the extra company at all. Besides, going as a group felt more comforting than going alone.
Passing through the crowd, you felt many eyes on you, remaining on you until you vanished from their sights. It made you more self aware. But it was also a good sign for looking presentable. You knew you were well groomed, you made sure of that. Today was special. You bathed instead of showering, pampering your skin with bath salts and warm foam instead of attacking it with the hot pressurized shower water. As your body slowly moved and grooved to the music, the soft, shiny curls bounced on your shoulders, complimenting the pink hues on your cheeks and the shiny rouge on your lips.
With music reuniting with your body after a while, you were certainly ready to dance your troubles away, and to wipe an unwanted slate clean.
“Y/N…”
You froze. It was Marcus’ voice. As you quickly turned to find you standing before you, you felt your heart sink. With the lights flashing behind him, he appeared ethereal. The fact you thought of him as such made your heart sink even further. Seeing that angelic face brought nothing but cruel reminders. Your suffering, your embarrassment. Two weeks of so-called ‘Happiness’ that turned out to be lies.
“What are you doing here?” You asked curtly. The minute you realized Heath stood behind you with a knowing look, made you gasp.
“Wait! Did you know?”  You asked angrily, turning to him. Rubbing his own neck, Heath took a deep breath.
“Y/N…” He began, “You have to understand. You two are my best mates. You can’t expect me to just stand there on the sidelines when this friendship crumbles to the ground. I miss you both” he continued,  “So please! Stop being such fuckin’ cunts and talk it out!” He finished it with frustration.
Grabbing his girlfriend by the hand, he headed to the bar. Even with the large crowd invading the dance floor, you and Marcus felt completely isolated. All the sudden, you were not relaxed anymore.
“Y/N…” Marcus began with caution, “ I know….You’re furious. And I’m sorry. I really am, you have to know that-”
“I’m not a stranger to people ignoring me, Marcus”
Looking up, you finally had the courage to speak up “But this…this was not what I had in mind. Not when it was my best friend who I…thought I loved ” the more you talked, the more you opened up, “What we had…I treasured it so much. You know I was going through shit when you…But ditching me like that? In front of my family, with no news what so ever…? ” looking at him with genuine sadness, you continued, “You humiliated me…Why?” You scoffed, “Am I not pretty anymore? Did I do something wrong-”
“Y/N, nothing is wrong with you…It’s just-”
“What?”
With hands on one’s hips, you asked him. With a heavy sigh, Marcus pressed his lips tightly.
“My parents…” he began, “They…weren’t the most pleased when they heard I was dating you. They kept using the word ‘unsuitable-”
“Is it because of my family, Marcus?” You asked him in the most straightforward manner possible. It surprised him. When he opened his mouth, nothing came out. “Y/N I-” “IS IT?” “YES! okay?” Your fist clenched as you kept staring at him, “What? Is it cause my sisters are dating gangsters? Is that it?” You asked, “And that suddenly makes me one of them? Suddenly I’m not good enough?” “You know I don’t think that way-” “Oh Piss off!” You said with squinted eyes, “We both clearly know you love your parents, of course you feel that way too…” “Y/N Please understand that I’m really confused here…” “Well, given the fact you didn’t show up that day, I’m happy to inform you that you’re really not…the answer is already there, mate!” You snapped. With his eyes closed, Marcus appeared to be in a difficult position. But it was clearly not your issue.
“Now…” you began, “If you excuse me…I’m off to engage in some unsuitable activities!”
As you said it in an ironic tone, you shot him one last look before you headed over to the bar. You walked over there with much intention. As much as you were offended, you were also very hurt. For this was your reality. No matter what you would do. no matter how hard you would try, you would always be seen as the bad girl. Gangster blood.
Grabbing a barstool, you luckily found yourself next to Heath, who looked quite hopeful.
“So? You had the talk?” He asked eagerly, looking for any trace of Marcus nearby.
“Oh… we talked…” you said through gritted teeth, trying to signal the bartender.

“You need shots?” Your friend asked as he offered to make the order. You nodded.
“Yeah…A fuck ton!”
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The moment when your fingers felt light, that was when you stopped drinking. Pushing yourself away from the bar, your movements felt smoother and you finally felt peace of mind. You were at peace, away from the chaos that you longed to escape from. You just didn’t care anymore. For no one really cared for you.
With alcohol freeing you from your inhibitions, you began to dance. Provocatively, in fact. You felt liberated when your body moved from side to side, when it rolled with much lithe that it appeared more beautiful in your one shoulder dress. Though you danced among the others, with your eyes closed in your own world, you were the only one.
You heard people approve of your dancing, you heard their admiration. Fueling your self confidence, you danced even more. Comments from afar seemed sufficient. Until someone decided to ruin it by intruding your space.
“Well, Hello Beautiful…”
An uninvited hand slithered over your waist. Opening your eyes, you found a young man dancing with you. He was around your age, possibly someone from your university. But you didn’t know him. He was not bad looking, although that did not excuse him from acting this way. Especially when you did not offer any sort of consent. His eyes were filled with lust, predatory to be specific. Bringing you closer, he freely allowed his hand to wander further down, shocking you by grabbing your buttocks.
You felt violated, disgusted. Pushing him away, you shot him a threatening look.
“Stop touching me!” You said, for you were not in the mood to be polite.
“Well look who’s talking now?” The young man drawled, pushing himself against you once again, trying his hardest to rest his hands on your body “Come on, babe…you know you want this-”
“I SAID STOP!” You yelled, hitting him in his chest. Unfortunately, he was stronger than you. Strong, intoxicated and stubborn to the bone, he held your wrists, which made you feel helpless. The music overpowered the entire situation that no one really bothered. What were you to do? Before you could cry out the names of your friends, you saw a hand grab the man by the shoulder to pull him away. Your jaw dropped when you realized who it was.
“Alright alright…What’s with all the commotion, eh?”
Freddie Jackson said, his hand still on the man’s shoulder. Closing your jaw, you stared at him with shock. What was he doing here? And was he watching you this whole time? You were an idiot if you couldn’t admit how relieved you were to see him there.
Chuckling, the young man patted Freddie’s hand in solidarity.
“No it’s all good, mate. We’re all just having a good time” He said, moving closer to Freddie, “Except this one…she's a bit uptight” he said laughing, hoping Freddie would laugh alongside him. And to your surprise, he did.
“Oh yeah? This one?” Freddie asked, pointing at you as if he didn’t know you, “Yeah…She a fine one, innit?” He asked the man. Embarrassed even further, you just wanted to run away.
“Yeah…”the man nodded, “Hehe-ARGHH!!”
Except, he couldn’t keep nodding for he let out a painful scream. Right when Freddie kicked his face with the knee, giving him a bloody nose. As the man stumbled to the side, Freddie pushed him down to the ground, not letting him rest as he began to kick him in the stomach with anger. You’ve never seen his eyes filled with such rage as you did tonight.
“RIGHT HERE…” He said, as he kicked him with each word, “IN MY…FUCKING CLUB !”
His club? He owned this place? Perhaps he received ownership of this from Sid or Ozzy.
“Fucking Pisser!” He muttered, spitting as the man finally lost consciousness. Upon his signal, the two thugs that stood behind him took the young man away. It did not have to end this violently. But it did. And all you could do was to watch with bated breath.
And the moment Freddie laid his eyes on you, it was unknown what your fate was to be. Before you could say anything further, he took you by the hand, dragging you out from the dance floor in an instant.
“Y/N? Where is she?” Marcus cried out, looking for her. Finally meeting with Heath, they both speechlessly watched you disappear into the crowd with Freddie.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
“Freddie! Where are we going?”
Almost tripping in your heels, you followed him as he dragged you with no answer. Past the dancing crowd ,the both of you went in through a small door that led to a hallway. As relieved as you were to have him there to be your accidental guardian angel, you were equally fearful of what was to come.
“Look, I’m sorry If I embarrassed you…” you said, “I didn’t even know this was your club” you continued, “But please tell me what’s going on?”
Yet, you heard no answer. And you had no choice but to follow him. You followed and followed, until finally he stopped by a door. Most of your intoxication had left your body at this point, leading you closer to sobriety.
Kicking the door open with rage, he entered the room with you. Light and weightless in his grip, you moved so swiftly. Everything happened in a flash, as he closed the door shut, pushing you against it with his hands tightly gripping your shoulders.
“The fuck were you doing?” He spat, “Letting that fucker put his hands all over you?”
“I didn’t! He was coming on to me!” You said defensively, for it was the truth. Freddie may have sounded enraged, but you could tell that rage stemmed from concern.
Silence ruled over the both of you for a few seconds, with just the deep and loud exchanged. Finally synchronizing with the other, you watched as his gazed fixed on yours with intensity. The longer you looked, the less you saw Freddie Jackson the gangster,  instead it was Freddie, the man who looked out for you ever since you were young.
“NEVER…” he began, “… let anyone put their fucking hands on you!” He said. Exhaling with relief, you slowly nodded in acknowledgement. “Except mine…” To which your eyes widened with confusion. “What do you m-” Freddie cut you off completely, simply by cupping your face, and attacking your lips with his very own.
You could not fathom what just happened. For there he was, kissing you. Freddie Jackson was kissing you. Not in your dreams, but in actual reality. Coming to that realization, you quickly pushed him away.
A part of you expected him to be displeased. But it was quite the opposite. You saw a man madly enamored by you. Desperate to have you. And the way his mouth was parted, evidently enslaved to your lips.
Seeing all that, it brought you reminders. Reminding you of that little girl from a long ago, who placed layer after layer of love in her heart for him, wishing he would love her back someday. Reminding of that very same girl, who cried her eyes out when she realized he would never be hers.
Apart from Reminders, it brought you heaps of realizations. Filterless Realizations. Realizing even after all those attempts of avoiding him, of refusing him, he was still the only man to rescue you. The only one mad enough to care for you, to want you, to strike a man down for you. Regardless of what obstacles that got in his way, he still wanted you. Wanted you in every possible way.
You may have thought it to be wrong. But in the end of the day, you realized it did not matter anymore. For right or wrong, it did not exist in your world. For the world will always look at you with just one pair of lenses. So, who were you to deprive yourself of happiness?
Grabbing him by his collar, you finally found the courage to kiss him back.
Kissing Freddie felt like seeing fireworks. Gentle only for a millisecond, followed by passion in heaps and bounds. All that suppressed desire exposed to one another in short but intense outlets. Kissing him was everything you imagined it to be, but even better. With his lips so luscious, you felt like you were spoiled completely.
Your knees grew weak. Because of the alcohol or his kisses? You did not know. But nevertheless, Freddie held you by the waist. As he held you, his own hands traveled down to cup your buttocks, arousing you even more as this simply wiped away the horrid memory you experienced earlier. With his lips moving from your mouth, you felt them latch on to your neck, kissing there with such intensity you threw your head back.
“Freddie…Ah!” You moaned.
Backing away from the door with you in his arms, Freddie moved so skillfully fast, you found yourself falling back on to a sofa. As he climbed on top of you, it felt like you were a prey being captured by the predator. Except he merely attacked you with passionate kisses. You wished you could force time to slow down, given Freddie’s rush, tonight was not the night. While he kissed you, his hands got equally busy, taking hold of the ends of your tight dress, pulling it high enough he could spread your knees open. Extreme sensitivity greeted you, and the door to your deepest fantasy opened when you felt his fingers located your slit over your panties. Stroking it through the thin material, he was gentle at first only to feel his way through, until confidence showed up and his fingers increased in speed. He was impatient, you could tell. Gasping in to the kiss, you realized how wet you were. Like a hungry mouth salivating for food, so was your opening, starving for him. Freddie peeled off your panties with great speed, until he managed to toss it away. To where, he didn’t seem to care. And neither did you. When his lips finally left yours, a groan of frustration exited you. But sitting up with your elbows, you saw that he was in a desperate attempt to unbuckle his trousers.
“Fuck!”
He said, through gritted teeth whilst undoing his belt. Heavy blushes appeared on your face only when you noticed how he kept staring at your exposed, wet slit. Fueled with more desire, you wanted lend a hand, but with experienced he was quickly freed from the constraints. Thus, revealing his manhood.
You inhaled deeply, recalling the first ever time you laid eyes on it, peeping through the shower curtain that fateful night. Only now you were finally free to admit to yourself how much you enjoyed the sight of it. And how you had to suppress that indulgent for you were clouded by your moral compass. But now, nothing was to get in your way as you stared at it.Thick, long, beautiful and very erect, you wished you had time to explore it. But when your eyes were met with his, you knew it was not the time. Especially when you cried out softly as he slowly but finally, inserted himself in you.
Your body welcomed it with ease. He felt so perfect inside you. He watched your blushing face, react with fluttered eyes to each of his thrusts that got more and more intense.
“Freddie…” you cried out, loud enough only for him to hear as he buried his face on your neck while tightly held on to him. That was all you could really do. Except this time, you did not call it out cause of fear nor confusion. For this time, you called it again and again because of the purest of pleasure.
“Freddie…”

Double Shot Chapter 11
Tumblr media
After Clay made sure that I was very happy to be awake, I headed toward my shower and had to bite my lip when he followed me.
“I was planning on a quick-” but his lips met mine, his body was flush against mine and I forgot what my point was.  Pressing me against the tiles of my shower stall, one hand adjusting the water, his lips and other hand not leaving me.  His mouth took a stroll down my neck and I arched into him, feeling his chuckle tingle against my skin.
“Quickie?”  He muttered, nipping my collarbone.  And then he was inside of me, turning me so I was under the spray, and he was holding me up without aid of the wall.  “Let’s see if we can-” I arched as he thrust and his moan felt even better than his laugh had, damn.  “Fuck, Char,”  and then his lips were back on mine and we were at it again.
Somehow, and it would take a repeat performance where I was actually paying attention to something other than how Clay fit inside me perfectly, how his hands could be hard and tight or soft and teasing, how he could coax out a scream, a moan, or a gasp during the same encounter for me to take actual notice, but he managed to soap me up and was my hair while the rest of our bodies were otherwise occupied.  He had me pressed against the tiles again, holding tight to me as we came back down to reality.
“Wow,” I breathed, finally capable of speech.  “That was-”
“Wow?”  His eyes met mine and I felt my breath leave me.  “We’re just gettin’ started, Char.”  My heart clenched while a twist of lust hit me at the same time.
I managed to get dressed and ready for work, but don’t ask me how.  I have no fucking clue how I kept my mind on pants, shirts, and my fucking hair while I watching Clay redress himself and thinking what a fucking shame it was that we were in a fully nudist town so other women could envy me.  Then I remembered that no one knew, not really, that this had happened.  And I had the sobering thought that I didn’t fucking KNOW Clay.  Hell, I wasn’t even sure that was his fucking real name. Shit.
He followed me down the back stairs, letting me unlock the door connecting my apartment to the shop, and I smiled as he asked if he could stay while I opened.  “Sure, you can watch me bake,” his eyes widened, clearly expecting the same thing that my employees thought, that he’d see the mysterious baker that didn’t exist.  “Come on, Romeo, let me get the ovens preheated.”
Clay sat on one of the stools I kept in the kitchen for anyone who didn’t want to take their break with the customers, watching as I arranged the ingredients that I’d be using along the island counter.  Gathering up the bowls, plugging in the stand mixer, and getting out the measuring cups and other things that I’d need, I asked him if he wanted a cup of coffee.
“I’m good, want me to grab you something?”  I smiled and told him my favorite juice, watching his back as he pushed through the swinging doors into the main shop area.  He came back with two bottles, opening mine since my hands were busy and sitting it near me, he retook his seat.  “You’re the baker?”  My grin grew as I started the first batch of batter going in the mixer.  “Does anyone else know?”
“My uncles do,” taking a sip of my juice, I started putting together the next round.  “They knew I loved to bake, and I loved this coffee shop more than even the two of them did, so-” I shrugged.  It had made sense, Davey and George had raised me after Mom-  I blinked the thought away.  My uncles had been my rocks, and they’d always wanted to be sure I had SOMETHING to occupy myself with, it had always been their goal, to anchor me.
“Uncles?”  He was staring at me and I wondered if JJ/Jen had told him about my uncle Davey.  “Your mom’s side or dad’s?”  I shook my head and took another drink of juice.
“Uncle Davey is Mom’s brother, Uncle George is his husband,” to give Clay credit, he didn’t show any signs of surprise or even flinch.  Some men did, not locals since Davey and George were well known in our small spec of a town, but guys I’d dated in the past tended not to last if I saw signs of discomfort.
“And they raised you?”  I was scooping out the first batter onto prepared pans, nodding as the second batter took its turn in the mixer.  “Your mom?”
“Died.”  Simple and true, but not the whole story.  “I was eleven.”  I had a flash of the call she made, as I sat with George here in the kitchen and watched him bake.  She was making sure I was here, that I was with my uncles before she-  I swallowed the memory, as I always did.
“And your dad-” the very thought of my dad made me snort and shot down the pain of my mom.
“Daddy dearest?”  I looked up as I started another batch of batter.  “He was very busy with Amber, or is her name Ashley?  The younger, trashier model, that works,” I rolled my eyes.  “He didn’t seem interested in me, or kids in general really.”  As far as I knew, and with the town being so small, I knew everything whether I wanted to or not, he hadn’t spawned any more kids.  I shrugged again.  “He didn’t put up a fight.”
Clay was drinking his own juice, staring at me while seemingly lost in thought.  I kept going with the baking, the scent of vanilla, sugar, and cinnamon filling the air.  “You said your dad was wealthy and connected-”  I nodded, waiting.  “And he’s a councilman?”
“Yeah, he wasn’t always rich and elite,” in fact, were it not for falling in with my mom and HER family, he’d still be on the wrong side of the tracks, no newer model for him.  “My mom’s family was the one with the better name.”  And money, lots and lots of money, I thought.  Shaking my head at how my uncles had made sure that every single penny of my trust fund stayed firmly away from my father’s grasping fingers.  “Marrying her got him what he really wanted.”
“Power.” Clay offered, finishing his juice as I put the last pan of pastries in the oven.  As I closed the oven door, I felt the heat of him pressed against my back.  “How long are they going to bake?”  His hands were sliding under my apron, pulling my button down shirt from my pants, and I found myself pressing back against his chest.
“Twenty minutes,” I whispered, as his lips met the crook of my neck and my eyes fluttered closed.
“That gives me enough time to have breakfast.”  And then he turned me and our lips met again.
Clay left after I had the bakery cases filled and the dishes washed from my baking.  He kept me company until about thirty minutes before the shop would open, and about twenty minutes before Keli would come in.  He kissed me in front of the door, giving me a look that I felt more than I could describe.  Clearly wanting to stay, but needing to go, I finally shook my head and pushed him out the door.
“Go,” smirking, but also fighting myself from yanking him back inside and calling today a loss.  “Before neither of us get anything done today.”  His smile was breathtaking, and he turned away, but not before promising me that he’d see me later.
Keli looked at me as though I hadn’t buttoned my shirt right after the breakfast that Clay and I had that morning, and I had to struggle against checking myself.  “What?”  I asked, flipping the sign over early.
“You look-” she was squinting at my face, and I felt a blush hit me.  “Laid.”  My eyebrows rose, and she grinned, a new expression on her face.  “Char got laid,” she nodded, her grin holding as she tucked her messenger bag in the kitchen.  While her back was turned, I double checked my buttons, zipper, and my hair.  How the fuck did she-  “You have a tiny-” she touched a bare spot lower than my neck and grinned wider.  “He bit you.”  Shit.  Fuck.  My eyes closed tight.  “So was it Mr. Coffee Black Double Shot or Cappuccino Extra Cinnamon Are You Sure You Don’t Do The Art On Top?”  I opened my eyes to see her leaning against the counter behind the register waiting.
I groaned and she laughed.  Damn it, who knew that Keli’s mood could improve by me suddenly having a sex life?  “Double Shot,” I answered, shocking myself.  “Don’t fucking-”
“Tell anyone?”  She shook her head with an eye roll thrown in for good measure.  “Like I would.  Aren’t you worried about Latte Soy Milk No Foam?”  I shook my head and gave her an eye roll in return.
“Asha.  Keli, they have actual names.”  I groaned, realizing that I wasn’t sure they were their REAL names, and that I’d used her ‘nickname’ for Clay to confirm her suspicions.  Fuck.
She shrugged and moved to pour herself a cup of coffee.  “Who cares?  This town is a fucking whirlpool of people who no one should give two flying fucks about, why bother learning THEIR names when no one learns ours?”  I was listening to her as she spoke and I realized she was right.  Aside from the ‘elite’, no one cared about the townies that didn’t ‘matter’.  “Me and Stacy can’t fucking wait to move away.”
“You’re planning on leaving?”  This was news to me, and a flash of dawning horror made me notice that I was guilty of it too.  That I was exactly the type of person who didn’t engage, not really.  Fuck.
Keli shrugged again, taking a careful sip of her coffee.  “Eventually.  We want Jason to be raised somewhere a little more welcoming.”  I smiled, thinking that her little family was thinking ahead, something few people seemed to do anymore.  “We’re saving up, it won’t be for awhile yet, so don’t worry about hiring a new opening person.”  Fuck, she thought I only cared because of the inconvenience to me.
I waved that idea off.  “Where are you guys looking at?”  And for the next few minutes, and during quiet parts of the rest of the day, I learned more about Keli than I’d known in the two years she’d worked at The Little Drip.  And I knew that her contempt wasn’t just because she was working customer service, but because she saw a side of the town I’d grew up in from a different point of view.

On Sentiment
Le Paon makes a sentimonster who looks like Chat Noir. Adrien now struggles to take care of him and not let him get hurt like the Ladybug Sentimonster was. I GUESS CONSIDER THIS ME JUMPING ON THE CRACK ADRICHAT BECAUSE IT REALLY IS CRACK. THANKS @buggachat. interpret however you want. im going with agape love.
On the day you are made, it is discovered just how powerful sheer emotion can be. On the day Le Paon swipes her fan and the winds give rise to your form, solid and warm, Chat Noir mirrors your wide-eyed wonder.
You are shocked when his green eyes (exactly like yours) narrow with fear. A hiss escapes his bared teeth. Even his hair seems to be on end, puffing all over the place with the static arcing in the air. You think it’s sort of funny.
What is this strange ticklish feeling in your chest? It’s all bubbly. You don’t stop it as it bubbles up and escapes from your throat. Ah! It’s a laugh. You like it. It’s warm and this new existence is oh so cold.
Le Paon’s will prods at your mind. It makes your body want to leap forward. To pounce and rend Ladybug and Chat Noir into black and red ribbons.
You don’t like that.
But still you pounce because your body burns when you don’t.
Ladybug and Chat Noir save your feather from Le Paon’s clutches. Things feel a little warmer. A little scarier because things are out of your control, still.
“What do we do with him?! I don’t...We need to find a place for him. I don’t want him to be hurt. Not like her...” Ladybug tells Chat Noir desperately, running her hands through her inky hair. You want to touch it. It looks shiny.
Chat Noir looks pained. Scared. Not distrustful, but he looks at you like he might look at a spectre. He pinches the bridge of his nose with clawed fingers just like yours.
“We have to hide him. He’s got the same powers as me and he doesn’t have a limit that we know of. And I don’t want a version of me running around Paris up to no good.”
Ladybug laughs.
“You’re usually up to no good. Would there be a difference, Kitty?”
Chat Noir pouts. You smile. You like their humor. It’s funny. You want in. You want to be included. The feather in Chat Noir’s hand is held gently. You can trust them.
“Let me stay with you Chat Noir. I promise I won’t be trouble.”
Chat Noir still looks suspicious. Ladybug sighs.
“It’s probably for the best. You said your house is really big. I don’t have that much room in my home.”
So that’s how you, the doppelganger, ends up going home with Chat Noir.
----
Chat Noir, much to your surprise, is Adrien.
His eyes are still green, but they are no longer exactly like yours.
There’s still the same suspicion in them, but it’s softened by the worry in his eyes as you struggle to slip on the pajama set he gives you. He seems very confused that you are able to take off your suit and glove, but cannot remove your mask or ears.
“H-how...How does that work?” Adrien asks you. Plagg seems unconcerned. He’s already curled up with his cheese on a stinky sock.
Plagg simply says “magic”.
You merely accept it, like you do with everything in this new life. You hadn’t existed up until yesterday. Why question little things now?
“Don’t know.” You say blithely, wincing when you accidentally tear the sleeve of the silky pajamas with your still-sharp claws.
Adrien sighs, but he’s gentle as he extricates your fingers from the fabric and helps you slip it on over your unruly hair. He doesn’t linger. He’s very quick about it.
But you still feel the warmth of welcome in his actions, and it makes you feel at peace. The feeling curls in your chest, warm and content. You let it rise up and lift the corners of your fanged mouth into a grateful smile.
“Thanks!”
Adrien’s smile in return is sheepish, if somewhat uncomfortable. He tucks your feather under his pillow.
“You’re going to have to stay here until we can figure out what to do with you.” He says, then frowns. “Don’t go out without me. Don’t let anyone in this house see you.”
He tosses you a pillow and a soft blanket. You have to sleep on his spare couch, but it’s warm and you are safe and free.
You have no trouble accepting those terms as you curl up sleepily. You dream of red and black ribbons and feathers floating against the stars.
-------
You break your promise. You let someone in this house see you, but to your credit, it was to save Adrien.
They’d called for Chat Noir and Ladybug. You’d watched as Plagg’s magic, sharp and hor, wrapped itself around Adrien’s form. You’d watched as he’d given you a sharp glare with those same green eyes, before leaping out his window.
He’d left the piano music playing from his phone. You’d hid in his expansive closet. But your sharp hearing catches the jingling of a door knob being shaken.
You only think of Adrien. You think of his kindness and his gentle exasperation as he’d brought you food and showed you how to brush your hair and told you how to play a game called Brawl Bros.
You only think of Adrien when you wrap himself in one of his luxury cardigans and sit on the piano bench and set your claws on the bench.
You catch your reflection on the shiny, black surface of the piano and nearly hiss. You will yourself to change. You will it so much that your body burns.
It burns as your ears recede and your mask disappears and your claws shrink a bit.
It is without much fanfare that Nathalie opens the door, merely sees your mop of golden hair moving over the top of the piano, and leaves. She’d bought the ruse.
You stay there a bit more, heaving a sigh of relief. When you look back at your reflection, you are shocked to see that you look a little more like Adrien...but you’re not him. Your corneas are still green. Your fangs still large and your mask has gone away, only to give way to an inky darkness that mars the space around your eyes.
Strange.
You are tired. You take your blanket and your pillow and curl up in the closet to rest. The bed is Adrien’s space. You refuse to take it, in any capacity. You are not him.
-----
When Adrien and you can finally get down the rules for your ability to change your features, he decides it’s safe to take you to school.
“So yeah. This is my British cousin from my mom’s cousin’s uncle’s side. His name’s Garfield. He’s decided to study in Paris for a year.”
Nino blinks at you. Then he blink at Adrien. Then he blinks at you once more.
“The family resemblance is uncanny, man. Your other cousin Felix looks just the like two of you too. Daaaamn.” He finally announces.
Adrien sighs with relief. The arm he’s slung around your shoulder relaxes.
“Hahaha. Yeaaaaah. Family genes are strong. But Garfield, meet Nino.”
“Nice to meet you, bro.” Nino says, offering his hand.
You have it. You have your own name. It makes you so incandescently happy. You feel that familiar bubbling sensation in your chest. The one you know means you want to laugh. You do not hold back. Adrien usually holds back his laughs. Tucks them into the corner of his mouth and releases a modest puff of air when around people he doesn’t feel comfortable with.
You, however, have no such compunction. You were created in Chat Noir’s image. And Chat Noir laughs freely.
So you do.
You reach forward to take Nino’s hand and shake it so hard, his headphones rattle.
Adrien looks embarrassed. Nino looks enthused.
Your sharp hearing catches the whispers of speculation from the class. But Adrien looks relieved and he shoots you a quiet smile that says “good job.”
You are warm and content. You have two friends now.
----
Marinette makes for a wonderful, third friend. She also happens to come with a myriad of others clinging to her wake.
He can’t blame them. She’s so bright and kind, she matches Adrien well.
She takes your hand after you cut it trying to work on your physics project. She uses a pretty, embroidered handkerchief to wrap up your wound. Her blue eyes echo familiar as they peer up at you.
“Up to no good again, Garfield?” She says this, but it’s teasing.
That echoes familiar too. Her small hands are warm.
You’ve already decided that you like her by the time she’s done wrapping up your wound.
“I can help you with this?” She gestures towards the pile of foam blocks on your desk.
You feel a burning on your face. Ah embarrassment. Still, laughter always feels good. So you laugh at yourself. Then you nod.
“Yes please. I’m not all that good with this stuff.”
----
Adrien screams into his pillow.
Plagg looks a bit sad as he curls up next to his boy. You click your claws together in agitation. It seems your base form will always be of Chat Noir’s double. It’s the most comfortable way to be when you want to rest.
A lot had happened today.
You’d stayed out of the way, but your sharp ears had overheard it.
Adrien begging his father to show up for the school’s talent day. His father’s frigid dismissal. Then he’d leapt out the window leaving you behind.
He’d come back. A little angrier, a little sharper. But also resigned. Like he’d given up on something that had been making him happy.
You don’t have to ask much to gather that it is Ladybug. He’d gotten a more final answer.
“She likes someone else.”
You don’t know what to do about that. The one time you’d met Ladybug, you’d thought she was kind. A good person. Remarkable. But you’ve met plenty of kind people who are remarkable in their own way.
Rose was remarkable when she’d made you a bracelet. Juleka when she’d done your makeup for a fun class film. Alya when she’d taken your hand and shoved an ice cream cone into it while you’d hung back from the group. Nino when he’d shown you his wonderful new remixes. Kagami when she’d arm-wrestled you and laughed as she took your arm down. Marinette was remarkable when she brought you eclairs everyday because you’d said once a while ago that you liked them.
Adrien was remarkable when he’d brushed back your tangled hair and asked you to play video games with him. Adrien when he’d shared with you his collection of favorite anime. Adrien when he let you make a mess and try on all the interesting clothes in his closet.
Adrien when he’d handed you your feather in a show of ultimate trust. He’d freed you.
Your chest feels tight? The color green comes to mind, but you don’t think much of it when you sit on the foot of his bed.
“I’m sorry. That...That sucks,” You say quietly. Which is unusual for you.
Adrien doesn’t move, but he moves to face you. HIs gaze softens with sorrow.
“There’s nothing for you to be sorry for, Garfield.”
Then you snort.
“I get it now. You named me after a fat, orange cat.”
Adrien rolls his eyes. Good. You’ve distracted him.
“An iconic orange cat.”
“I don’t eat that much!”
Adrien grabs his pillow, startling Plagg and hits you with it. You fall on the bed from the impact. The pillow over your face.
“You’re a good friend, Garfield.” He says after a moment.
Adrien’s laughing. You’re in his space, and it’s okay. You’re his friend.
-----
Marinette likes Adrien. She’s told you this in confidence.
You don’t quite know what to say. Pain is a nasty feeling. It eats away at your chest and kinda makes you want to pounce just like Le Paon had. Pounce away from the source of the pain. Marinette is your friend.
She cries into her hands. She’s been tired as of late. More stressed. Then she’d overheard Adrien rejecting an upperclassman’s confession.
I’m sorry. I like someone else.
She falls into your arms when you offer her a hug.
The tight feeling in your chest returns. It’s painful, but not angry. You know it could easily become a bad thing, but your appreciation runs too deep to do so.
You keep it to yourself, but you get it. You understand Marinette. You really do.
Because Adrien is remarkable and it’s finally hit you that golden things can’t stay.
-----
You hold your feather in your hand. It’s fading.
You and you alone are responsible for this. Choice is a wonderful thing.
You take the shot for Ladybug and Chat Noir. For who you know now are Marinette and Adrien. The people who are most precious to you.
Rena Rouge shrieks behind them, just running up to catch sight of this new Sentimonster’s beam of energy piercing through you.
It was a good life. A short one, but the choice is all yours.
Because you exist. Because you feel. Because you’re you and your friend gave you a name and a home and memories worth dying for.
You feel really warm in their dual embrace. Chat Noir’s holding you. Ladybug’s stroking your hair. Rena Rouge has knelt to hold one of your clawed hands. Carapace watches, grief etched onto his face.
You suppose, you should feel grateful. Although you wish you could’ve spent a little more time with them.
Just a little more. You fade away, a “thank you” the last thing that floats from your lips like a lost feather in the breeze.
-------
You wake.
Their smiling faces greet you. Your friends.
They look a little older. A lot sharper and care worn, but their hands are warm as they stand you up in your shaky, solid form.
“H-how?” You cough out, incredulous.
Adrien laughs. Marinette looks amused.
“We made a wish. We missed you, Garfield.”
You feel that familiar bubbling feeling in your chest. You are breathless as you laugh and that laugh turns into sobs.
It hurts to feel, but it’s such a warm, comforting pain.
You’re glad of it.

“Scoot over,” Thomas ordered and climbed into the tub with her once she’d made space for him. She was breathing heavily still, and he couldn’t help the sense of pride swelling up in his chest. He’d done that. “Come here.”
She looked at him questioningly.
“I said, come here,” he repeated firmly. “I’m not done with you yet.”
His demanding tone made Rachel’s stomach flip with anticipation. She knew this game well, and she knew how it would end – in unimaginable amounts of pleasure. Even more so when she played by her own rules instead of his.
“Hmm,” she hummed as she slid further away from him, backing up against the opposite end of the large bathtub. “Why don’t you come over here?”
Thomas shot her a glare, accompanied by a warning, “Rachel.”
“Yes, Thomas?” she said with a grin and stretched out her legs, letting them rub against his.
She noticed her mistake too late – his hands had already gripped her legs – and a surprised yelp escaped her when he pulled her towards him, placing one of her legs on either side of him. “You’re just determined to be bad today, aren’t you?”
“You like it when I’m bad,” she said as she slid closer, her pussy just barely grazing him. She was rewarded with a low growl and her grin widened.
“Go on then,” he said breathlessly as he gripped her hips with one hand, his cock with the other, tapping it against her entrance. “Be bad.” She bit her lip, giving a quick nod, and he slowly lowered her onto him. They both moaned loudly, and it took Thomas quite a bit of effort to continue speaking. “Show me – ah – how bad you are.”
She didn’t need to be told twice, rolling her hips a couple times before beginning to bounce on top of him. She’d wanted to tease him some more, go slow, but he felt so good inside of her, filling her perfectly, that she soon found herself picking up the pace, chasing her second orgasm of the night.
“That’s right,” he panted. He was drawing close himself, and he was almost worried he wouldn’t last. “Ride me.” His hands reached up to palm her breasts, and she threw her head back as her movements became more and more frantic. “Get yourself off on my cock.”
It wasn’t long then, until his name fell from her lips in a hoarse shout, and he felt her walls pulsate. He lifted her off him in an instant. A few seconds more inside of her and he would have come as well, but he couldn’t have that. Not yet. As vast as his desire for her was, he still wanted to – needed to – show her just how competent he was at satisfying her. As many times as he possibly could.
“Would you sit there for me?” he asked, though it was more command than question, as he pointed to the edge of the tub.
She nodded mutely and tried to pull herself up but failed. She was far too weak, her entire body trembling, but that in no way meant she didn’t want more. She still desperately craved him, and so she tried again.
Thomas quickly realised her struggles, and his hands were on her hips again, picking her up. “Are you alright?” he asked, voice more tender than it had been before, as he gently set her down on the edge of the bathtub. She nodded again.
Perfect, he thought as he gazed at her naked form, covered only by sporadic traces of bath foam. She’s perfect. Another flood of desire washed over him, and he wanted nothing more than to pull her back down and just pound into her, but he had other plans first.
“Spread your legs, darling,” he coaxed, and she did as he told him. He smiled approvingly at her. “Yes, just like that.”
“Thomas,” she murmured as his head moved between her legs, his breath hot on her centre. She ached for him to touch her, but she wasn’t sure she could even have another orgasm. “I don’t know if I can again.”
He looked up at her – she was squirming, her body begging for him to go on. No, he didn’t doubt she could. “Yes, you can,” he said definitively, then ran his tongue through her folds once, earning him a shudder along with a soft moan. “You will.”
Of course, he was right. Her hips jerked forward to meet his mouth as his tongue swirled and pressed and flicked against her, and she could feel the knot in her stomach form again. Immeasurable amounts of pleasure cascaded over her when his hands dug into her hips, trying to hold her still as he continued working her to her third climax.
And with a deliberate flick of his tongue, she was there, her fingers tangling in his hair as her thighs squeezed his head between them. He didn’t move – only holding her legs apart slightly – until he had lapped up every last drop of her.
Three times, she thought with astonishment as she looked at Thomas between her legs. His gaze snapped up eventually, their eyes meeting, and she immediately knew he intended to make it four.
His arms wrapped around her and pulled her back into the tub, onto his lap. He was still hard, she realised as her leg brushed his cock, and she shivered with anticipation.
“I’d like to be inside you again,” he said, voice low and raspy. He couldn’t wait any longer – he felt he would explode from the unbearable heat inside him. He needed her, and he needed her now. “Can you handle that?”
Her tongue darted out to lick her lips as she nodded eagerly. “Please.”
That one word, in that frenzied sort of tone, had him losing his mind. His hands found her hips again, though he didn’t need to do much guiding at all. Rachel had already wrapped her own hand around his hard cock, stroking it once, before sliding onto him.
Thomas’ fingers dug into her skin and he let out a low moan because, God, she was so damn tight. He was not going to last long, that much he knew. Then again, neither was she, still sensitive from her past orgasms.
Her hands found his shoulders, holding onto them, as a whimper escaped her lips. “Thomas, please.”
His grip on her tightened even more as he drew out of her almost entirely, then shoved himself back into her again, hard. He didn’t bother trying to go slow, knowing full well that neither of them wanted to, but instead surrendered himself to his carnal desires and began thrusting up into her mercilessly.
A loud gasp fell from her lips when he found that spot inside her, and after hitting it again with a few more thrusts, she came, the noises she made loud and downright pornographic. His own release followed right after, the relentless convulsing of her walls around his cock too much for him to handle, as he came inside her almost violently. She collapsed against him, her body going limp for a moment, and he wrapped his arms around her tightly, holding her to his chest.
He leaned back against the end of the tub, hands rubbing up and down Rachel’s back. “Are you alright?”
She nodded and mumbled against his skin, “That was amazing.”
Thomas hummed. He certainly wasn’t going to disagree.
“Why’d you change your mind, though?”
His brows furrowed. “Change my mind?”
She turned her head to look up at him. “Yeah. I thought you weren’t, you know, feeling up to it.”
Realisation washed over him when he thought back to Rachel informing him she wanted to take a hot bath and relax. In retrospect, she’d lingered by the door a little too long for it not to have been an invitation. He let out a groan, followed by a chuckle. “And here I thought I hadn’t satisfied you.”
“Thomas,” she said softly, placing one hand on his cheek. “I have never been as satisfied as I am with you. Ever.”
His lips curled into a smirk. “Good.”
“Dear lord, I’m feeding your ego again, aren’t I?” Rachel laughed, shaking her head slightly, as she leaned up to kiss him. His ego wasn’t unwarranted, though. He had, after all, just made her come four times in a row.

Here I Am, There You Are Pt. 15
Tumblr media
Jack Barakat x OC ‘Rachel has been best friends with Alex, Jack, Rian, and Zack since high school. What happens when one of them gets married?’
Part 15
Jack and I had Alex and Lisa over for a week. Since they didn’t have a house out in LA anymore, they always needed to find places to stay when they did need to be on the West Coast. Since Alex and Jack were working on some band stuff and Lisa was organising the last bits of a wedding at the same time, we had offered to help them out by giving them a place to stay. Afterall, after months of not seeing each other, it was nice to actually have friends around again.
While making dinner for everybody, the fact that I was 36 weeks pregnant hit me pretty hard. I was standing there on my painful feet, cutting up some vegetables when my body decided to warn me that I shouldn’t push myself and take enough time to rest. It was nearing the end of their trip, and I wanted to give them one last impressive meal, but my back said no. Luckily, Alex was more than happy to give me a hand. He let me direct him around, doing most of the work while Lisa and Jack were gulping down some rosé.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t really enjoy the food we had cooked together. My back was in pain and I was feeling quite nauseous. It wasn’t alarming, though. It happened more often; my lower back would decide it had been carrying around the extra weight for more than long enough, then everything would just feel very uncomfortable, and then I’d also start feeling a little sick. Usually, it didn’t end up in my throwing up, but it definitely wasn’t the most pleasant of feelings.
I got a few bites in, but in the end I was mainly just picking at my food. The baby usually loved a combination of vegetable and tomato sauce, but it wasn’t happening that day. Luckily, I wasn’t really hungry anyway. Lisa and I had gotten a pretty big lunch earlier, so I had had more than enough to eat already. Since everybody already knew I wasn’t feeling great, and because I had made the food myself, nobody was particularly worried. It happened, pregnancy wasn’t just happiness and people telling you you looked like you were glowing.
But my back really was hurting, and I could just feel myself going into an unsafe territory. The territory in which I’d no longer be fun to be around. Before I got too annoyed at jokes and laughter, and any other sound made, I knew I had to distance myself.
“I think I’m going to go to bed,” I announced after putting my fork down. I knew it was early, it was only past dinner time. But it sounded like the only bearable thing right now.
“Everything alright?” Jack checked up on me, taking in just how uncomfortable I looked.
I nodded and pushed my chair back. “Yeah. I just need to lie down and I’m pretty tired. Why not combine both?”
“Call if you need anything, okay?”
I got up and pressed a kiss to the top of his head to show that I definitely wouldn’t think twice to call him if I needed him. He really was the best husband right now, he had been the entire time really. He’d help to tie my shoes when I was really struggling, he’d bring me snacks when I was hungry, and he’d help me get as comfortable as possible, even if that meant rubbing my back. Of course, we had our arguments, but he was the most supportive person, always there to help me out.
I said goodnight to everybody and retreated upstairs to our bedroom. Olive decided to join me, watching me as I got ready and climbing onto the bed when I got under the blankets. It was a bit strange since she’d usually stay down where the food was being shared, but she probably sensed that I wasn’t feeling great. She kept a watchful eye on me as she curled up right next to me.
The two of us just laid there together. Petting her long fur was quite comforting, but it wasn’t enough for my body to decide that it was time to relax and no longer be in pain. If anything, the queasy feeling in my stomach was getting worse. I just figured our cheese puff had shifted a little and was squishing all my insides since I had to get up to pee quite a few times as well.
When Jack finally joined me hours later, I was still awake, scrolling through my phone. The entire time I was switching between social media platforms and even tried watching some Netflix, although the shows didn’t exactly keep my attention.
“You’re still awake?” Jack seemed surprised as he closed our bedroom door and pulled off his shirt.
“No, I’m just sleepwalking,” I joked back and reached around to put my phone on my nightstand.
He kicked off his jeans as well and started towards the bathroom. “Are you feeling a bit better, though?”
I hummed back and shrugged.
“No?” He looked back as he turned on the bathroom light.
I pouted at him. “My tummy hurts.”
He gave me a worried look. “Is cheese puff okay?”
I nodded and scratched Olive’s head, snuggling further into my pillow. “He’s good, still kicking. I just feel like I might shit myself at any moment.”
He frowned and finally went to our sink. “Gross.”
I watched as he grabbed his toothbrush and squeezed some toothpaste on it. “Well, I’m not going to. I would have done it long ago if that were the case.”
“If it happens, I’m not cleaning it up,” he mumbled through the foaming toothpaste in his mouth.
“You better get used to cleaning shit soon.”
He scrunched up his nose in disgust and faced the sink again. After scrubbing his teeth for a few more seconds, he turned on the tap, spit out the toothpaste and washed out his mouth. Once his toothbrush was back in its place, he turned off the bathroom light and made his way over to the bed in just his boxers.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” He asked, looking down at me as I cuddled underneath the blankets. My stomach was starting to hurt a little more. “You’re not in labour, are you?”
I gave him the look. The one you give when you can’t believe what the other person is saying; the one where what they’re saying sounds incredibly absurd. It required a slow blink and a hint of being fed up.
“Of course not,” I urged as he joined me in bed. “It’s way too early for that. I’m not due for another four weeks. It’s just some cramps, maybe he’s getting in position for later.”
He eyed me suspiciously. “Are you sure? It might be premature labour.”
“Jack.”
“Okay, okay,” he dropped it and leaned in to give me a kiss to wish me goodnight.
However, before his lips could even touch mine, Olive started freaking out. At first, it was just a low growl, but as soon as Jack leaned over her to get closer to me, she started barking loudly. And it wasn’t a bark that asked for attention. It was a threatening protective bark, warning him to stay away from me.
“Excuse me!” Jack gasped loudly and directed his gaze down to Olive who was still tightly against my side.
“Olive!” I scolded and pointed at the end of our bed. “Down, now.”
She looked at me with guilt written all across her face, but moved down anyway. Her movements were slowly and sneaky, showing just how much she knew she was being told off. Once she reached my feet, she laid down and kept staring at me lowly and carefully.
Jack reached out to touch me, only for her to growl again. All I could do was frown as he retracted his hand. And she stopped. Jack and I both watched her as he slowly went to graze my shoulder. The closer he inched, the louder the growl became. The further he moved away, the quieter she got.
“What’s up with her?” Jack cocked his head in intrigue and confusion.
“I have no idea…” I shook my head in bewilderment. “I guess she can sense I’m not feeling great.”
“Huh…”
I quickly stretched out to plant a kiss on his lips instead, getting no reaction out of Olive at all.
“One-sided much?” Jack gave her a little glare before reaching back to turn off the lights.
We shuffled around to get more comfortable in the dark. It meant I had to maneuver around Olive a little, since she kept trying to be as close to me as possible, but eventually Jack and I managed to get into a position comfortable for us. He was on his back while I stayed on my side and had my head on his shoulder. We laid there in silence until Jack suddenly turned around to face me.
He put his hands on my belly and looked down at it. “You better stop hurting mommy, okay? She’s been growing you, you’ve gotta be kind.”
I guess he could somehow tell that my stomach ache was only getting worse as time slowly passed us by. I could only smile softly in response. As if nothing had happened, he flipped back onto his back and let me snuggle into him again, practically using him as a body pillow. I kissed his cheek and nuzzled my nose against the side of his face, hoping for sleep to finally consume me hours after I had originally gone to bed.
Things didn’t go too great during the night. I was up a lot. It was still relatively okay at the beginning, but I kept waking up randomly. The pain in my stomach was definitely still there. It also wasn’t getting any better. If it was getting worse, though, I didn’t know. I was constantly in a state of being half asleep. It was difficult to even notice all my senses at that point.
I finally fell into a nice sleep at around six am, when the sun had already risen. Unfortunately, I was woken up just a few hours later by Jack, who was trying to slowly bring me out of my sleep by peppering butterfly kissed all over my face. I groaned, feeling anything but rested, wishing he wouldn’t have even tried to wake me up.
“It’s nine am,” he told me in a whisper.
I breathed out heavily. “That means I’ve had three hours of sleep.”
“What?! Why!”
“Because I didn’t feel great,” I grumbled, the pillow against my cheek preventing me from talking properly.
“Shit, do you still feel bad?” He sat up and ran his fingers through my hair. “Should we maybe call the doctor?”
“I surprisingly feel okay right now…” I suddenly realised. Yes, I still felt a little nauseous and uncomfortable, but the pain was mainly gone.
“Thank god,” he sighed in relief and started getting out of bed. “You get some more sleep and I’ll make sure Lisa and Alex get their breakfast and coffee.”
“Okay.” My eyes felt heavy, but I still grabbed his hand before he could walk away. “I love you.”
“I love you,” he responded and gently kissed my hand before dropping it and disappearing to take a shower.
I fell asleep again right after. It was a proper deep sleep. Finally. I didn’t wake up for another few hours, but when I did it was very abruptly. Let’s say I didn’t wake up ‘naturally’, or better to say I didn’t wake up because I was fully rested. Instead it was pain that woke me up. It started in the middle of my stomach and grew out. If there hadn’t been a bump in the way, I would have curled up and cradled my stomach.
Slowly, it dissipated and I was left to feel a bit better. I quickly got out of bed with my heart thumping like crazy. Whatever was happening wasn’t good. My doctor had told me all about braxton hicks contractions, and I did have them before. Only it hurt more this time. Maybe I just felt them a bit more this time?
But while I was taking a shower and brushing my teeth, the pain kept coming back in random intervals. There was no real pattern to it yet, but I just knew. I didn’t wait any longer to go downstairs. Alex, Lisa, and Jack were all in our formal living room having even more coffee than they had with breakfast. They were just chatting while Lisa was also busy doing something on her iPad.
“Rachel!” Alex was the first to notice me, giving me a big smile. “You feeling any better?”
“About that…” I breathed out and supported my back with my hands, making eye contact with Jack. “You were right.”
“What?” He shook his head in confusion.
“I am definitely in labour right now.”
I could just see everybody’s face turn into surprised and worried expressions. They were all staring at me. Alex and Lisa were mainly shocked, unsure how to react (although there was also a hint of excitement is Lisa’s body language). And Jack? Well he just looked pale. I got it, though. I felt the way he looked. We thought we had a bit longer to properly prepare, especially mentally.
Jack only managed to say one thing. “Shit, really?”
“No, I was just…” Another contraction hit me, making me breath in sharply and I tried to get the rest of my sentence out, “messing… with… you.”
“Fuck.”
“Yeah, that helps, thanks.” I gave him a sarcastic thumbs up as the pain already started fading away.
He got up quickly and raked his fingers through his hair harshly. “I mean– I just– shit.”
“Would you like to sit down?” Alex offered me, also starting to stand up to be of my assistance.
I nodded my head yes, but also didn’t really accept his proposal. He was ready to help me to the couch, yet I just lowered myself onto the floor and sat there instead. It seemed like the more comfortable position, even though I knew I wouldn’t be able to get back up later. Olive immediately walked over from her spot on the carpet to come sit by my side again, ready to protect me from any harm.
“Alright,” Jack was finally ready to take action, “should I call somebody? Do I need to do something specific?”
“Call the doctor,” I instructed, trying to stretch out a little to see if my back would feel any better, “because I’m pretty sure I’m not supposed to be in labour yet.”
“Okay…” he jumped away from the couches and ran upstairs even though he had his phone on him.
I just let him do whatever, figuring rational thinking wasn’t exactly his top priority right now. While he was off doing that, I gave my full attention to Olive. There wasn’t much else I could do. I was in too much pain to go and clean up the house a little, as much as I wanted to come back to a clean house after giving birth. And I also didn’t really have the power to entertain Lisa and Alex right now. All I could do was sit and wait for this baby to come out of me.
“Are you okay?” Lisa asked with concern.
“Yeah,” I replied, continuing to rub Olive’s ears. “I knew this was coming, but I didn’t think it would be so soon.”
“Is there anything we can do to help?”
I shook my head, already dreading the next time a contraction hit. “Not really, no. Unless you’d like to switch bodies and do this for me?”
“I think I’ll let you take that one by yourself,” she chuckled.
I huffed, trying to focus all my attention on Olive to distract me from the pain that started up again. I could tell that my contractions were starting to become more regular and longer, but they definitely didn’t feel like one minute long yet. My doctor had said that there was no point going in until my contractions were five minutes apart and sixty seconds long. But I was unsure about that now. It was too early.
A few minutes later, Jack came tumbling down the stairs again, wanting to go faster than his feet could handle. He was carrying a duffle bag sloppily on his shoulder and his phone was clutched in his hand. Somehow, his hair was now a complete mess and he looked like he had seen something traumatising.
“I have spare clothes, baby clothes, toiletries and important documents,” he stated as he dropped the bag on the floor. “Is there anything else we need?”
I just stared back at him. Where was this sudden need to panic and rush coming from?
“Fuck! Car seat!” he suddenly exclaimed and ran to the stairs again. “I haven’t even finished building the crib yet! Shit!”
I raised my eyebrows and looked at Alex and Lisa while Jack was dashing upstairs. “Is he in labour, or am I?”
“I’ll go check up on him,” Alex chuckled and took the same path Jack had, only much more calm and collected.
Which left just me and Lisa downstairs.
“We’ll take care of Olive while you’re at the hospital,” she told me, looking at the dog who was still stuck to my side like she was the only thing keeping me alive right now.
“Thanks.” I smiled back. I had completely forgotten about Olive even though she was the one thing I was trying to pay attention to right now. “My parents were supposed to come over at the end of next week to help us out, but it’s a little late now.”
It didn’t take long until Jack and Alex came back downstairs. Jack seemed much calmer now as he carried down the car seat we had bought a while ago, full of extra blankets for our baby. He wasn’t one-hundred-percent normal, of course. There was still a lot of worry and stress behind his eyes. Afterall, he was becoming a first time dad and I was in premature labour, but he was no longer pacing around and swearing.
“Alright,” he announced as he picked up the duffle bag again, “we should go, the doctors wanted us to come as soon as possible to keep an eye on everything.”
I nodded and let go off Olive, putting my hands behind me to try and push myself up.
“Here,” Alex quickly jogged up to me and held out his hands.
I took hold of them and let him pull me up, which was relatively difficult. But it worked, he was somehow strong enough. I walked up to where Jack was already at the front door and grabbed a pair of shoes, not even bothering to put them on now. It would be dreadful to get down and tie them right now. Luckily it was warm enough for me not to need a coat.
“You guys know where everything is,” Jack told Alex and Lisa while he opened the front door. “Just eat whatever you want.”
“Good luck!” Lisa shouted as we left.
Jack practically threw everything onto the back seat before helping me into the car. Although I insisted that I could do it myself, having his hand on me supportingly did actually help, especially when a contraction hit me again just as I was about to sit. Once he shut my door, he quickly ran to the driver’s side and got in as well.
“Okay, let’s do this!” He sighed with a cheer, turning on the car. “Well, actually, you can do this!”
I chuckled and rolled my head to the left to look at him.
“In just a matter of time, we’re going to be parents.” He smiled at me and picked up my hand, bringing it to his lips to press a kiss to it.
Although the pain was excruciating and long, it really did feel like just a matter of time in the end. It took hours before I was finally giving birth. I was lucky enough to be in labour now and not just a few weeks earlier. Jack was allowed to stay with me the entire time. If it had been earlier, he would have been forced to stay away until the actual birth. All because of safety precautions against the virus.
I really couldn’t have done it without Jack. Our baby wasn’t born until the late evening, meaning I had technically been in labour for more than 24 hours, but only really felt anything for ten. It was one horrid excruciating experience. I was ready to completely swear off sex for the rest of my life. But as soon as I got to hold him in my arms, I would have done it all over again.
Our baby Archie Jack Barakat.
He weighed six pounds and had the cutest little fingers and toes. His eyes were brown and he only had the tiniest bit of brown fuzz on his head. Honestly, I didn’t know if he looked more like me or Jack, he just looked like a baby, but he was absolutely beautiful.
We were lucky enough to already be able to go home the next day. Although he was born prematurely and was pretty small, there was nothing seriously wrong with him. I was absolutely exhausted, and was glad that we were already allowed to take him home.
As soon as we walked over the threshold to our house, Alex and Lisa were waiting for us. They had cleaned the entire house, gone out to stock us up on groceries, and even built the crib for us. It was the best thing to come home to after a hectic day and restless night. They really didn’t have to, but they still did. Even after all that, they offered to stay until my parents came over, who had rescheduled their trip to arrive in two days.
It was amazing.
Little Archie.
–––––
Archie was three months old, and it was pretty exhausting… as much as I loved him. Every two to three hours, he’d wake up and start screaming. It made complete sense, of course, he was a newborn and needed constant feeding, but that didn’t mean that the sleep deprivation was getting to me. Jack was still there the entire time the first two months, but during the third, he was gone most of the time. Although the world wasn’t fully back to normal again, All Time Low was doing things again. Small things, but it still required him to travel. Which meant I was the only one there to constantly wake up.
Luckily, Jack came back again after three weeks. He took over his half of the ‘shifts’ again, which was great for my wellbeing. The first day he came back, he actually let me catch up on sleep during the day while he spent time with Archie. It was like our roles were flipped. Usually, when Jack came home, he was the one that would need hours of sleep. Now I was the one that needed that well deserved nap.
Like we always did, Jack and I switched who would wake up every time Archie would call us. It was around four am, when I had finally fallen into a deep sleep, that we could hear clear cries coming from the nursery and the baby monitor.
“Your turn,” I mumbled while lying on my stomach, my face squished into the pillow.
“I know,” Jack responded and yawned before forcing himself out of bed.
While he was out tending to Archie, I started drifting off to sleep again. There was just one issue. It was difficult to actually fall asleep with the crying still going on. I was on the edge of the deep plunge that would bring me to a nice deep slumber until it was my turn to wake up at six. But hearing my baby cry made me stay alert. Maternal instinct, if you will.
When it felt like it had been way too long, it was impossible to actually fall asleep. I woke up fully and just had to check up to see what was going on. I was sure that Jack would come to me if something was wrong, but I still had this need to check.
So, out of bed I got. I stretched out as I left the bedroom and walked down to the room we had turned into the nursery. The hallway was completely dark, but there was a little light coming from Archie’s room, enough light to guide me to the right place.
I knocked on the doorpost and rubbed my eyes a little. “Jack? Every good?”
“Everything fine,” he responded quickly while rocking Archie back and forth in his arms to try and sooth him, facing away from me.
It did seem like Jack was telling the truth. But then he turned around and I could see that it was a lie. Jack’s eyes were bloodshot and tearing up, his lip trembling just a little as he was trying to hold back his own tears. Archie was screaming in his arms, flailing around his own limbs.
“What’s wrong?” I gasped in concern, rushing up to him. I wiped away a tear that started rolling down his cheek.
“I can’t get him to quiet down,” he inhaled a ragged breath, “he won’t take his bottle and won’t stop crying!”
“Hey, it’s okay,” I tried to calm him down and took Archie from him. “Come here.”
I bounced Archie a few times and he slowly stopped his crying. It turned into fussing and hiccuping until he completely quieted down. He stared up at me expectantly, waiting to get fed. I wasn’t sure if he could recognise me, but he knew the routine by now.
I looked up at Jack, smiling to show him that everything was okay. But I just found Jack already watching us with tears streaming down his face. Immediately, my own face fell.
“Jack…” I breathed out, not knowing what was going on.
He took a step away and tugged on his hair as he shook his head. “He doesn’t like me.”
“That’s not true.” I frowned.
“He only screamed louder when I picked him up,” he argued back, the tears not showing signs of stopping anytime soon. “He’s in your arms and he’s happy.”
“That’s just because I’m his main food source,” I comforted, still rocking Archie back and forth to keep him content for now. “When he’s older, you’ll be his favourite. You can teach him to speak, you’ll bring him back cool toys from all around the world, you can teach him how to ride a bike, you’ll be there to give him all the tasty unhealthy snacks. You’ll be his hero.”
Jack tried to wipe his tears away, but it wasn’t really any use. He continued to be on the verge of crying himself. I would have blamed it on the exhaustion, but he had gotten more sleep the past three weeks than he had gotten the entire two months before that. I got it, though. I was lucky that I immediately had a close connection with Archie, but I had been so afraid that that wouldn’t have come, especially with how Jack did most of the work in the first week.
“Just–” I guided Jack to the chair we always fed Archie in and made him sit down. When he seemed to be comfortable, I took a seat right on top of him in his lap and nudged his arms. “Hold Archie for me, will ya?”
He did as I asked, and wrapped his arms around me to support the small fragile body. With my own hands now free, I rolled my shirt up and exposed my left breast, which was the one Archie tended to like the most. I directed Jack with slight movements and touches to make Archie line up. Once he got a good hold, I relaxed into Jack and nuzzled my head into the crook of his neck. He looked down at Archie with something that almost seemed like fascination. Maybe it was admiration.
There was still some sniffing, but the tears were starting to dry up.
“You see, he just wanted me for food, he’s perfectly happy in your arms,” I whispered.
Jack just hummed in response, not taking his eyes off Archie for even a second. After a few seconds of silent love and adoration, he finally spoke up and said. “He’s so small.”
I nodded. It was true, he was still pretty small, but he was also already so much bigger than when he was born. For now, he was still a newborn, but it was starting to go so fast. Before I knew it, he would be walking around and babbling, he’d have his first day at school, he’d be graduating and moving out. I didn’t want it to go by so fast. All I could do was savour every moment and hold onto it forever.
“Do you really think I’ll be his hero?” Jack questioned, shifting Archie in his arms a little so they wouldn’t start tingling.
“Of course!” I responded and pressed a kiss to his jawline. “He’ll always love you.”
“He’ll probably hate our music,” he chuckled. “I’ll be the uncool dad who plays uncool music.”
“Or he’ll love it and want to be a guitarist just like you.”
He broke away his gaze for the first time and glanced at me with shock and fear. “I hope not! He shouldn’t drink as much and party as much as I have.”
I couldn’t help but laugh a little. “I love you.”
“I love you,” he kissed the top of my head and then looked back down at Archie, who was still drinking away peacefully, “and I love you too, Archie!”
–––––
When Archie was nine months old, Jack’s schedule had practically returned back to normal. He was touring again. The venues were small as not many people were allowed to go to the shows, but they still happened. Jack was just excited to go out and play live music again, even though he hated leaving me and Archie behind. But it was what we had signed up for. I never married Jack thinking he’d drop everything and stay with me.
I had always made it a point to visit Jack at least once on tour. With a newborn, that promise had kind of been broken, but now that Archie was getting older, I dared to take him on a plane with me to flight out. It was strange to think that he was now older than I had ever been pregnant with him. Nine months. It had flown by.
I had Archie in his pram, a bag with all the stuff I needed for him, and a suitcase of my own as I walked through the airport. Before having a baby, I managed to visit Jack with just hand luggage. Now I had to check in a large suitcase, have a bag full of diapers and bottles, and have an easy handbag for our passports and my phone and wallet. It was like I was going on a four week vacation, not a quick one week trip.
Although I knew to plan in extra time in case I got slowed down with Archie, I also made the decision not to go to the airport too early. Hanging around and waiting to board the airplane with a baby constantly wanting attention while feeling uncomfortable wasn’t a good plan. Somehow, I had managed to time it all perfectly. We made it through security with 20 minutes left to spare before boarding started. It was enough time for me to change Archie’s diaper and for me to go to the bathroom myself.
I was mainly afraid of the flight. It was four hours long, which was actually relatively short, but I had no idea how Archie was going to react. I didn’t want to be that one parent who couldn’t get control of their kid as they kept screaming their little lungs out. I didn’t want to annoy everybody on the plane. Fortunately it wasn’t an overnight flight, that would have been a nightmare for me.
Once we started boarding, I was forced to leave the stroller behind for them to put it in along with the check-in baggage. Then, the trek to my seat started. It was somewhere in the middle of the plane, but luckily I did have an aisle seat. Since Archie was going to have to sit on my lap the entire time, I welcomed the slight extra space and ability to get up and walk around.
When I finally found my seat, I was glad to find that the person next to me was already seated. That meant less standing up with Archie clumsily in my hands as a whole row of people waited behind me. I somehow managed to get my bag up in the overhead lockers, getting a bit of help from the guy behind me. When I finally sat down and put Archie on my lap, he started pounding his hands on my legs and cooing.
“Are you excited to see dada?” I asked him. Whenever I spoke to him, I tried to throw around the word dada as much as possible. He hadn’t said his first word yet, but I practically always begged him to say it whenever Jack and I were facetiming. It would make his entire year.
“Isn’t he a cute one?” The old lady next to me said, leaning forward and giving him a little wave.
I chuckled softly as Archie reacted positively to the extra attention he was getting. “I hope he stays cute during the flight. He’s never been on a plane before, so I have no idea how he’ll react.”
“He hasn’t? He seems to enjoy it so far.” She held out a finger, which Archie immediately grabbed and started playing with.
“No.” I shook my head and kissed the top of his head, taking in his baby scent. “We were planning on getting him used to travelling early on, but that wasn’t exactly an option anymore.”
“Things have changed, haven’t they?” She agreed and looked up at me while Archie kept hold of her finger. “Did you travel a lot before?”
“Sort of, yeah. Well, actually it’s my husband who travels a lot for work and is gone for long periods of time. I occasionally go out to see him. Now it’s the first time Archie gets to come along!”
She beamed at the name. “Ooh, Archie! My father’s name was Archibald.”
“It’s a nice name.” I didn’t really have the heart to tell her that Archie’s official name was just Archie. Both Jack and I knew it was actually a nickname for Archibald, but we just didn’t want to give our child a name that sounded so… fancy… old?
“I think it suits him very well!”
I never did catch her name, but she was like a saint the entire journey. She kept me distracted, making sure I didn’t worry about Archie getting unruly, meaning that he also couldn’t react to my non existing stress. Sometimes the stress I felt when he was crying only made him cry more.
We spoke a bit about ourselves. She told me about how she was flying out to see her daughter, who she hadn’t seen in months now. I told her a little bit more about Jack and our relationship. She helped me keep Archie busy and even took him from my lap so I could get up and go to the bathroom. I really was lucky to have been seated next to her. It made the trip so much more bearable.
Archie had practically been awake the entire flight, meaning he was out like a light when we touched down. He continued to sleep deeply against my shoulder as I got off the plane, walked through the airport, got the checked-in luggage and stroller, and even during the entire ride in the taxi. Luckily, I had fed him right before he fell asleep, so I wasn’t very worried about him suddenly screaming as I got us to the venue Jack was at. He only woke up when we got out of the taxi and I was suddenly busy trying to figure out how to carry everything and text somebody that I was outside. It was actually perfect timing.
Archie would be so happy to see Jack again.
As I started trying to find out where to go to get in, I realised that I was on the complete wrong side of the building. But there was only one way to get to the other side. Well, one way other than a sketchy back alley that I was definitely not going to find myself walking down ever. Not even with a personal armed bodyguard. My only route to take was past the front entrance and all the fans waiting to get inside. That was a clear winner.
I pushed the stroller and pulled along the suitcase, trying my best to avoid the queue. Usually, there was bound to be at least one person to recognise me. Although I didn’t mind talking to Jack’s fans, I also didn’t want to overwhelm Archie. He’d already had a busy and adventure packed day. I preferred him leaving some energy to actually see Jack over him crying in exhaustion as soon as I entered the venue.
When I was about halfway past the line, I heard my name being called out. I had no idea where it was coming from, but out of politeness, I slowed down. Suddenly, a small group of three girls were surrounding me.
“Hi!” One of them blurted out with wide eyes.
“Hey,” I returned with a big smile, “how are you guys?”
“Good!” She squeaked back. “Are you here to visit Jack?”
“I am indeed.”
Archie started to get impatient. He wanted to get out and move around after being forced to sit the majority of the day. Ever since he started crawling, he couldn’t really sit still for long anymore. The definition of Jack’s child. He started to kick around his legs in annoyance and made blubbering noises, which he usually did when he wanted to be let out of his car seat or high chair.
“He’s so cute!” Another girl, who was standing at the end of the stroller gushed.
“Thanks,” I acknowledged. Although I often got comments like that, it always made me feel a little proud. Afterall, Jack and I literally made him.
“Can I get a picture?” The first girl asked me as she held out her phone.
“Of course!” I accepted.
She turned on her selfie camera and got in closer. I put on a smile and posed with her as she took a few pictures. Everything was still going fine until she was satisfied with the outcome of the pictures. She put her phone back in her pocket and I realised that the person who had made the comment about Archie being cute was taking her own photos of him. It wasn’t even subtle. She was crouched down, acting like she was playing with him with one hand, but the other one quickly taking snaps with her phone.
“I’m sorry,” I interrupted as she just kept taking more and more, “do you mind not taking any photos of him?”
“Oh, no, it’s okay,” she shook her head and took another one, “I won’t post them anywhere.”
I frowned and glared a little at her. Yes, Jack and I had decided not to post any pictures of him with his face clearly in it except for his birth announcement. We didn’t want to plaster his face all over the internet when he had no say in it. That was for him to decide later in life when he had his own opinions. But the way this girl just dismissed my request was making my blood boil. Her reasoning was not comforting at all.
I would have kept my cool and asked again nicely, but she was just being rude to me. “You do realise that’s even creepier right? You’re taking countless pictures of my son to keep for yourself. How would you like it if some stranger came up to you and took photos just for them to keep?”
She gave me a judgemental look but did stop taking even more pictures. “I’m not going to do anything weird with them.”
“I’m not saying you will, it’s just disrespectful. There’s a reason we don’t share pictures of him.”
“He’s just a baby.”
“Exactly. Would you please mind deleting the photos?”
She gave me the death stare and her two friends just stood around uncomfortably. They were defending her, but I wasn’t sure if it was because they agreed with me or because they were too afraid to say anything. Either way, they didn’t want this confrontation.
“Please,” I repeated, still staring at her to show that I wasn’t going to break.
She huffed in annoyance as if her mom had just told her no dessert until the vegetables on her plate were finished. Still, she reluctantly unlocked her phone and selected all the photos she took. There was some hesitation before she hit the delete button, as if waiting for me to change my mind. But I wasn’t going to. This was my baby we were talking about.
“Thank you.” I smiled while she gave me an unamused scowl. I then looked at the other two girls, “It was nice meeting you guys!”
“You too…” the girl who took selfies with me mumbled.
I then took my opportunity to leave. As soon as they thought I was out of range, the rude girl grumbled ‘what a bitch’, but I really wasn’t bothered. Nobody messes with my child. I didn’t care if that meant she now hated me. I full-heartedly believed that I was right. Actually, no, I knew that I was right. It was not cool to take pictures of a baby without permission, especially a stranger’s baby. They might have felt like they knew me because they were Jack’s fans, but they really didn’t.
Luckily, I wasn’t stopped again and managed to make it into the venue without any further hassle. A member of the crew let me in and brought me to where all the fun was happening before leaving to get on with setting up. I turned the corner to enter the green room and saw a few guys standing around, including Jack slouching on the couch, manspreading like he had all the space in the world.
When he coincidentally looked in my direction, a smile spread across his face. He got up and immediately came towards me. Once he was close enough, he kissed me as a greeting. More than a peck, but still PG-13 with all these people around us. As soon as he broke away from me, he went straight to Archie, undoing the clips of the seat. Archie knew exactly who was coming. He started letting out excited noises and screams, kicking his legs and throwing up his arms. He was so happy when Jack picked him up.
“How has my little man been?” He asked in his voice reserved for Archie, ticking his tummy and bouncing him a little, getting an ecstatic squeal out of him. “Have you been good today?”
While Jack was giving Archie countless kisses all over his little face, I decided to answer the question. “He was so good on the plane. Didn’t even cry during the descent! I was lucky, though, the woman next to us loved him and helped me keep him occupied the entire time.”
“You’ve been so good!” Jack gasped in his baby voice. “Did you like the plane?”
I chuckled softly and left Jack have his moment with Archie. Although Jack had been so afraid they would never bond when Archie was still very young, they were now inseparable. Facetiming ‘dada’ was always one of his favourite parts of the day when Jack was gone. Otherwise, playtime with dada or a nap with him was the best.
“I got you something!” Jack remembered excitedly and walked over to his backpack. Out he pulled a stuffed gray elephant and he started showing it off to Archie. He went to sit down again and started talking through the elephant while Archie grabbed a handful of the toy.
I walked further inside and moved the stroller and suitcase to the side of the room, so I wouldn’t be blocking the doorway. It wasn’t really the best place to put them, they were still a little in the way with how much space they took up, but anything was better than leaving them in a walkway.
“Rachel!” Alex approached, coming from somewhere else in the venue and seeing me from the hallway.
“Hey!” I replied as we shared a hug.
“How was your flight?”
“Pretty good, actually.”
“So Archie behaved?” He raised his eyebrows in surprise. As if on cue, Archie started giggling loudly at something Jack was doing. “Archie! I haven’t seen you since you were born!”
He really was getting all the attention today. Alex even went to sit next to Jack and join in with the playing. It did look fun, and Archie was as cute as ever. But I had just spent four hours with him on my lap. Having other people take over was a nice little break.
“We set up the back lounge to be a big bed for you guys,” Alex informed me, looking up from how he was leaning over to be eye height with Archie.
“You didn’t have to do that!” I told him
“No, no we definitely did,” Jack quickly interrupted before I could change anybody’s mind. “I’m not sleeping in a bunk with all three of us.”
“I was just expecting it would be me and Archie on the couch,” I admitted. A bunk with Archie wouldn’t work.
With all the stuff I brought along I also had a travel crib. It wasn’t really a crib, more like a fold out basket that was made of soft fabric and had a little mattress built in on the bottom. Although I didn’t mind taking naps with Archie, I didn’t want him actually in bed with me at night. I was too afraid I’d smother him with our blankets if we did. But if he was in the crib-like thing, I could put him next to me and he’d be safe.
Alex shook his head. “No, we figured this would work out better. You’d be in the back lounge anyway.”
“Well, thanks, then, I appreciate it.”
A few minutes later, Alex was pulled away to go do something else, meaning I could take his spot next to Jack on the couch. I was leaning against his side, my head against his shoulder, and my legs resting on top of his knees. Archie was still taking up most of the space on his lap. The exhaustion was starting to hit me now, but I couldn’t help but enjoy this moment with my little family.
Jack was still playing with the elephant. Archie seemed to absolutely love that thing already. Usually, it took him a while to warm up to new toys, but this was like his new favourite one. I didn’t know how Jack knew he’d fall in love with it. It was just so cute to see. Both Archie and Jack were delighted, sharing a very similar smile.
“Can you say elephant?” Jack said slowly, holding out the toy for Archie.
All he got in return was something that sounded like ‘eeeee’. Maybe he was trying to copy the sounds Jack was making, maybe it was just a coincidence. But it was definitely exciting to get something that was relatively close out of him.
“What about dada, can you say dada?” I asked, stroking his cheek.
He stared at me with his big beautiful brown eyes, inspecting my face. And then it suddenly happened.
“Da. Da.” He blurted out.
Jack looked at me with wide eyes as he gasped. To be honest, I was a little shocked as well. Ecstatic, but shocked that he just suddenly copied me.
“Dada!” Archie repeated, slamming his fists against Jack’s chest.
That’s all that we needed to know he was copying me and knew at least what it sort of meant. Jack cheered and picked him up. Archie wouldn’t stop laughing and screeching with joy as he was peppered with kisses coming from Jack.
Those two were inseparable.

So, this is the last part of this story. I thought this was a nice place to round it off. However, I have been thinking about writing a few more parts. Only, they'd be much much shorter. Maybe around 700-1500 words. Like little moments in time. If it's something any of you would be interested in, do let me know, otherwise I'll put that time into my other stories.

31 Days of Halloween (Day 02)
Blood Moon Rising
Prompt: Werewolf
Werewolf!Diego Hargreeves x Reader
Warning: Violence, Blood, Mentions of suicide
                                 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
“Help! Help!” You screamed as you ran through the woods.
Thunder boomed and lightning cracked above you. Howling echoed through the trees and you swore you could feel his hot breath on the back of your neck. You could just barely see the edge of the woods. You urged your legs to run a little faster. You slipped against the mud falling to your hands and knees.
Crying out you struggled against the mud trying to scramble back up to your feet. It was too late. You felt the claws dig into your ankle. A scream tore from your throat as you flipped onto your back. You threw your hands up in defense as the large wolf’s mouth snapped at your face.
Your heart was racing and tears were running down your face. The snapping jaws stopped. You looked up to see the black fur slowly start to fade away. Fur was slowly turning into a tanned skin.
The scar on his face was lighter than his skin. His brown eyes twinkled down at you. His hand tangled itself in your hair and pulled you up into a sitting position. Your chest was heaving.
“Time?” Diego asked.
You sighed and dug out your phone from your pocket. You showed him your phone.
“Two minutes and forty-one seconds,” You said.
“Shit,” Diego swore as he sat back.
“None of this is going to matter,” You started.
“Everything is going to matter!” Diego shouted.
“Diego, it doesn’t matter if your brother has four seconds on you. Being a little bit faster at catching prey isn’t going to make him a better Alpha,” You said.
Diego stood and pulled you up to your feet. You wrapped your arms around his side and he pulled you in close to keep you warm as the two of you walked back to his small cabin in the pouring rain.
“Luther isn’t meant to be the Alpha. The rest of the pack knows this. I just need you to start understanding that you are the true Alpha,” You said.
Diego leaned down to kiss you. Suddenly, Diego tensed against you. He ripped his head away from yours, a growl bubbled out of his chest, and then he pushed you behind him. You looked around Diego to see Luther standing in front of Diego’s cabin.
“Luther,” Diego snarled.
“I’ve been waiting for you,” Luther said.
“You’re not supposed to be here,” You snapped.
“Yeah, well, that’s the perks of being the Alpha. I don’t wait for anyone,” Luther growled.
“So, what, you want to do the fight now?” Diego asked.
“I’m the rightful pack alpha,” Luther began.
“Bullshit,” You snapped.
Luther turned his bright red eyes to you. Diego stepped and fully stood in front of you. Luther ripped off his shirt, his upper body was already transforming into a wolf. Diego shot one look at you and you nodded.
“Finish this,” You told him.
As Diego moved away from you to start going after his brother Allison stepped out of the shadows and quickly grabbed you. You yelped as her strong hands gripped your arms a little too tightly. Diego’s head whipped around to look at you. Allison only grinned at her brother.
“Just need a little insurance that you’ll play fair,” Allison said.
“Go, Diego! I’ll be fine,” You reassured him.
Diego quickly looked away. He trusted you. Diego and Luther were both half-way transformed into their wolf counterparts when Luther attacked. Their bodies crashed into each other with a sickening thud. Claws and fangs were extended and slashing into each other. Diego and Luther were quick to be covered in blood. You struggled against Allison trying to free yourself, but she only tightened her grip. Slowly, you slipped your hand into your pocket and slipped out your phone.
Allison’s eyes were glued to the fight in front of her. You went to the group chat with the rest of Diego’s siblings. You simply texted them two words cabin and 911. You hoped that that would be enough information for them to realize that something was going on.
“Luther, watch out!” Allison shouted startling you causing you to drop your phone.
You looked up in time to watch Diego sink his claws into Luther’s chest. Luther stumbled back, but Diego kept on attacking. Luther’s chest was ripped to shreds and blood was running down his pale skin.
Luther fell to his knees. Allison gasped. Diego quickly got behind him. Luther’s eyes began to roll into the back of his head. Diego’s claws wrapped around Luther’s throat.
“Diego, stop!” Allison shouted.
“I’m the Alpha,” Diego snarled before ripping out Luther’s throats.
Allison’s screamed right in your ear. You winced as the pain caused your ears to ring. Luther gasped and clawed at his own throat, but Diego tossed him down to bleed out on the ground. Headlights swept over the four of you as Klaus pulled up at the end of the driveway.
Allison looked behind her to see her siblings exiting the car. You gasped suddenly when she whipped your head to the side.
“Let her go, Allison!” Diego ordered his red eyes glowing.
“You took away my love,” Allison began.
“Don’t do anything stupid!” Five shouted as the other siblings rushed towards her.
“Your precious Y/n is a human and wants to be a human,” Allison said.
“Allison, don’t,” You pleaded with her.
Allison tipped her head back and her fangs extended. Diego and Five were sprinting now. You screamed as Allison’s fangs ripped into your neck. Blood splattered against your face. Allison released you and in a flash was gone. Diego caught you. Klaus had removed one of his scarves and was there pressing the fabric to your wound.
“Go after her!” Diego ordered.
Ben and Vanya nodded before racing off after Allison. Not only had she disobeyed her Alpha, but she bit a human against their wishes. You fell into Diego and he gathered you up in your arms. You looked up at him with fear in your eyes.
“She bit me,” You said stunned.
“I know,” Diego whispered.
“I-I don’t want to be a werewolf,” You told him.
“God, I am so sorry,” Diego apologized.
“There could be a chance that she doesn’t turn,” Five said.
“The wound is deep,” Klaus pointed out.
“Diego, please,” You cried.
Diego was holding back his tears.
“Please don’t make me do this,” Diego pleaded.
“We have time. We can clean the wound and get all of the venoms out,” Klaus said.
“And what if that doesn’t work. I can’t be a werewolf,” You cried.
“Y/n, baby, please,” Diego sobbed his whole body was shaking.
“This was Allison’s plan,” Five said as he came back out of Diego’s cabin.
“What are you talking about?” Klaus asked.
“Allison knew deep down that Luther was going to lose. He also knew that it was Y/n’s fear to become a werewolf. She came on purpose. She wanted this to happen. Allison knew that Y/n wouldn’t want to be a wolf. Allison is hoping that you’d kill her,” Five explained as he mixed a few things together.
“What are you doing?” Diego asked.
Five glanced down at you. “This is going to sting,”
You looked at him in confusion, but then you started to scream as the cold liquid washed over the wound on your neck. You started to thrash around. Five yelled at Diego to hold you still as he poured more of that liquid over the wound.
“What is that?” Diego demanded.
“Something that I’ve been working on for months. It can kill werewolf venom,” Five explained.
Diego looked down at you. Your eyes began to roll into the back of your head and foam bubbled out of your mouth.
“Y/n,” Diego cried out.
“It’s going to be okay,” Klaus said.
Diego looked at Five. “Is this going to work?”
“I can’t make miracles happen, but I have faith in my concoction,” Five said.
Klaus knelt down to look at Diego.
“D, you need to realize that if this doesn’t work you know she’s not going to live a life like one of us,” Klaus said.
Diego didn’t want to think about it, but his brother was right. Diego carried you into his cabin with his siblings hot on his heels. Diego got you comfortable in the bed and then walked out to take care of Luther’s body.
When Allison was caught Ben and Vanya brought her back and tied her down in the cellar. The siblings worked throughout the day cleaning up the scene and working on a plan for Allison. You stayed asleep all day.
As night began to fall Diego was growing restless. His siblings took him off on a run. The moon was high in the sky when Diego came to a skidding halt. His siblings looked at him and then all ears perked up as the sound of a new howl echoed through the night sky.
