Four months into getting her master's degree, Y/N stumbled upon a babysitting gig for a wealthy single dad. Harry Styles promised the opportunity of a lifetime. After graduating she could use him as a reference and would even have a chance to be head of her own department in his corporation. All she had to do was keep his kid alive and act like their best friend. This shouldn't be too difficult.
Her boss was nothing like she had expected. Y/N loved children and had babysat through her undergrad years so Harry was definitely on board with the resume she put in. What he didn't count on was the temptation the beautiful girl brought with her. His three-year-old daughter adores her and seeing his daughter so happy made him weak as well. But Y/N too wasn't prepared for the tension that'd soon build between the two of them.
Y/N's schedule is perfect for her job, she takes three classes a week at the university which are all morning classes leaving her plenty of time to watch Grace in the afternoon so Harry can go to the office. Being the CEO allows him to work from home and they agreed upon the three mornings, as long as she's finished by 1 PM. Her master's requires a lot of self-study but Harry promised her the use of his office, whenever she needed it.
After finishing her classes, Y/N steps in her car and drives to the Styles residence. She clicks the button of the remote control so the gate to Harry's property opens. Whenever Y/N wonders how her boss can afford such a beautiful home, she reminds herself that she really shouldn't pry too much into people's personal lives. She shakes the question away every time because truthfully she doesn't want to know.
“Y/N!” Grace shouts excitedly when the front door opens. Her little feet slide against the wooden flooring, while the small girl is making her way over to her.
“Hi, Gracie.” She smiles brightly, crouching down so she can wrap her arms around her. “You can actually run a marathon now.” She pokes her tongue out.
“Daddy said I hafta put on my shoes first.” The small girl points at her bare feet. “Then you can race.”
“Daddy is smart, you'd be way faster with your shoes on!” Y/N agrees. Grace's favourite activity is definitely running. Ever since the day she found out how fast her legs could carry her, there was no going back.
“Y/N, I am so glad you're here.” Harry walks into the entrance and the Y/N can't help but bite her lip. He wears a tight black turtleneck sweater, showing off his chest and when he turns to close the door, his trousers fit very nicely. Y/N shakes her head, chastising herself for once again admiring the beauty that is her boss. “You are early.”
Y/N gets up, looking at her wristwatch. “By two minutes.” She can feel the blush creeping up her cheeks because even though they've been doing this babysitting gig for a couple of months, she is still caught off guard when they talk. “My professor ended his lecture earlier than expected.” She explains.
“I should reward your punctuality.” He smirks mischievously. If she hadn't fallen in love with his daughter first, it would've probably been him.
Grace slides into her purple Converse shoes and looks up at the pair while attempting to tie her shoes.
“Come here baby.” Y/N reaches a hand out. “Let me help you.” She watches as the girl makes her way to her with a bright smile. She's definitely taken after Harry. Her brown hair covers a good part of her back when it's down, which always has Harry insisting that she does a half ponytail. Her small chubby hands roam around with any and everything making it all the more impossible to grasp properly. But if there's one thing Y/N has learned in these last couple of months it's that it doesn't take a lot of effort for Grace to grasp hold of someone's heart. Y/N finishes tying her shoe before wrapping the little girl's hair into a ponytail, using the band on her wrist to secure it into place and picking up the toddler.
“Is it a race?” Grace asks curiously.
“I was thinking that we can make french toast.” Y/N suggests, laughing at herself as she proposes something completely different from what Grace insists on.
“French toast?” Grace scrunches her nose up in disapproval.
“Yes, Grace!” She exclaims. “We need to eat first.”
Harry watches their interaction and doesn't even attempt to hide the amusement that crosses his features.
“Ok.” The three-year-old girl answers. “I guess.”
“It's only until lunch.” Y/N reminds her. “Then afterwards we can go running. You and me?” She wiggles her eyebrows.
“Daddy's not gonna come?” Grace mumbles a soft pout on her face.
“I have to work, baby.” Harry reminds his daughter. “Y/N will watch you today while I am at work. She is gonna make sure you eat and sleep and she'll play with you until you tire her out.” He smiles. “Just like every other Thursday.” He wraps his right arm around Y/N's waist, leaning in so he can kiss the top of his daughter's head. “Now be nice.”
“I don't want to sleep, daddy.” Grace frowns, the disappointment and resistance clear on her face.
“Later.” He smiles. “Daddy is late.”
“Did you eat?” Y/N looks at him. “I can make you lunch too.” She offers.
“I already ate, don't worry.” He chuckles. “Besides I know it's not in your job description to care for me.” Harry smirks.
“But if your baby doesn't get the proper attention and you're too weak from starvation, I will be liable.” Y/N offers nonchalantly and feels her cheeks warm when his gaze meets hers.
“Can I go jump on the bed?” Grace interrupts them.
“Absolutely not!” They both scold in unison before turning their heads to stare at the other. Harry chuckles as he sends her a wink.
“I'm going to go now. Be good.” He says looking at Grace. “You too, Y/N.” He winks at her.
“I am always on my best behaviour, Mr. Styles.” She teases.
“I know.” He hums satisfied. “That's the problem.” ***
Y/N walks out of Harry's office, making sure to quietly close the door behind her. Grace peacefully fell asleep after running for thirty minutes straight in the backyard and Y/N took the opportunity to use Harry's home office to study for her classes. She just found out she had an exam on Monday and it was way too close for her comfort.
When Grace wakes up from her nap, Y/N gets her changed and ready for the rest of their afternoon together. Y/N keeps busy to get through Grace's demanding behaviour, so she figures some baking will be a good activity. She's wearing Harry's apron, her hair has come undone with all the frustration she has with measuring the dry ingredients but honestly, she couldn't care less about anything else. She's covered in flower and possibly milk but she prides herself on the fact that the smell of banana bread has taken over the house.
“Grace?” She calls but receives no answer. “Grace!” She calls again, a bit louder this time but still nothing. Where is she? Y/N steps out of the kitchen and into the living room where she finds the little girl laying down on the sofa. “Are you hungry?”
“Mmhm.” Grace shakes her head.
“No? Are you sleepy, love?” Y/N sits down next to the toddler and runs her hand over her back.
“My tummy hurts.” Grace frowns, holding her stomach.
“It hurts?” She frowns, pressing her hand down against Grace's belly and rubbing circles on it with her thumb. “Come here.” Y/N gently lifts Grace onto her lap. “Where does it hurt, baby?”
Grace pulls a pout on her face, her eyes looking at Y/N for a second before pressing her lips into a thin line. She pushes her cheek against the babysitter's chest and points to her stomach.
“Is it a big hurt?” Y/N feels worried for the child. She doesn't want Grace to be in pain and what's worse is that it's the first time something like this happens. “Gracie?” She whispers, and the little girl merely nods her head.
“Oh, come here baby.” Y/N coos and lays down with Grace in her arms. She covers them with the blanket from the back of the sofa, keeping them warm.
Grace settles between the crevice of her neck and chest, clinging to Y/N as her fingers softly graze the nape of her neck. Her fingers twirl a strand of Y/N's hair around them while the thumb of her free hand is caught between her lips.
Y/N curls her hands over Grace's head as she begins humming a tune for the little girl. She closes her eyes, allowing the smooth melody to come out and waits patiently for the girl to fall asleep. It doesn't take much longer for Grace to relax and after one more round, Y/N is certain the toddler has succumbed to her dreams. She lays with the little girl, not wanting to wake her up and keeps humming and soothingly patting her back.
Eventually, she opens her eyes as she feels a soft pressure on top of her head and sees Harry standing there caressing her hair, quietly staring back at her. How long has he been standing there?
“You fell asleep.” He whispers, his voice full of amusement.
“How did your meeting go?” Y/N keeps her voice at a low level as not to startle her little sleeper.
“You had a tough day, sweetheart?” He asks, sitting down on the other sofa in front of them. His dimpled smile breaks out as she nods her head at him. Harry is genuinely touched at seeing the closeness between his girl and the woman who has brought so much happiness to his family.
Y/N turns her head, nuzzling her nose against Grace's hair and taking a deep breath. The little girl moves to press a leg between her knees and pushes her feet against her thigh, feeling the warm embrace.
“When did this happen?” He motions to Grace.
“She said her tummy hurt.” Y/N explains. “I thought we could keep snuggling a bit. Besides if I laid her down she'll probably wake up.”
“A wise decision.” He assures her, letting his head rest on his palm.
Y/N smiles for a moment before her eyes fall to his lap. “How was your meeting?” She asks.
“Exhausting.” Harry sighs, running a hand through his hair. “Kept thinking about my girls at home.” He looks at her and she bites her bottom lip trying to hide her shy smile. She loves how he said girls, as in plural.
They stare at each other a bit longer, neither one wanting to break their eye contact, in a sense begging the other to be the first. Grace lets out a small cough, startling Y/N into looking away. She turns to see the small girl's forehead all bunched up.
“It's ok, honey.” She whispers, pressing a small kiss to her temple. She begins her lullaby again and it doesn't take long for Grace to settle into a deep sleep.
“So beautiful.” He hums after a while, looking at the way Grace falls at ease in Y/N's arms. “Let's put her to bed so we can have dinner.” Harry offers and takes the small child in his arms and carries her up the stairs.
Y/N stays behind and cleans up the mess they made in the kitchen, thankful that she let the food she planned on cooking for dinner stay in the fridge. She glances up as she sees Harry strolling down the staircase. His long legs carry him forward in a few strides and she rolls her eyes at herself for finding such a stupid activity exciting.
“Is she asleep?” Y/N asks.
“Mmhm.” Harry stretches his arms above his head and Y/N catches a sliver of skin beneath his sweater. It only lasts a moment but it's enough for Y/N to release the breath she didn't realise she was holding in.
Harry lowers his arms and reaches the kitchen, taking a seat on a stool on the other side of the counter. He had his hands pressed on top of it as his eyes look down. After a small sigh, he looks up at Y/N.
“I was thinking-” He pauses. “-me and you, we should talk.” He keeps his hands pressed on the cold marble, balling them into fists at the fear of her rejection.
Y/N's face shows an expression of worry. “Oh no, was I not meeting the needed requirements of my job?” She questions, folding the dish towel on her shoulder. “I've tried to give as much love and care to Grace as possible. I promise that I will not abandon her or neglect her or her well-being.”
Harry smiles lovingly at her. “You are amazing with her.” He remarks, leaning his elbows on the counter. “But that's not what I was talking about.”
“It's not?” Y/N pouts, now very confused about what he really wants to say.
“This babysitting thing, Y/N.” Harry begins. “We both know that this is more than that.” He waits for her reaction.
“Ok..” She drags out the 'o'. “I mean if you've been-“
“Can you please sit down?” He interjects.
Y/N smiles politely, afraid to show too much of the happiness that has taken over her. Harry can see her hesitancy and can tell she's trying her best to remain calm while she takes her seat next to him. She turns her stool a little bit so she's directly facing him.
Harry stares at her for a moment, taking her in and how natural it seems for them to sit down like this. His fingers reach out, brushing her cheek lightly but pulling his hand back when she frowns. It's too soon. It's inappropriate. But he wants her so much.
“I care for you a lot.” He starts again, with a newfound confidence and strength. “I think it's more than just Grace at this point. You have become a part of my family in such a short amount of time. You've shown me the joy of welcoming another human in my home and offering them safety and love.”
“I love being here.” Y/N swallows the lump in her throat. “Grace is so perfect and I- I care for her immensely. I would do anything for her.”
“You also happen to be exquisite.” Harry remarks. “Possibly the prettiest woman I have ever laid eyes on.” Y/N ducks her head and he can sense the heat radiating from her skin. “It's not my place to cross any boundaries but I can't deny the chemistry and connection we share. I am so attracted to you.”
She bites her lower lip. This is going all wrong. “But, Harry.”
“Y/N.” He interrupts her. “Let me finish.” He tilts his head to the side.
“I've seen the way you've been looking at me.” Harry reaches out, lifting her chin with his fingers. “It's the same way I look at you when you're not looking back.”
“It's true.” She admits. “I just-” Y/N frowns. “I thought that maybe, and please don't hate me for thinking this, I thought that perhaps I was seeing things that weren't actually there, delusional daydreaming.” She scoffs and Harry licks his lips, a smirk visible.
“Allow me to clear the confusion.” He whispers, running his fingers along her jaw, towards the right side of her neck. “I want you.” He reveals, slightly tilting her head back with a gentle push, so her eyes meet his. “And I will wait until you decide you're ready.”
She tenses up, a hand on her thigh as the other grips at the hem of her blouse. “What if I'm ready now?” Y/N muses.
Harry leans back, pushing himself off the stool and stepping forward as the gap between him and Y/N lessens. “Then I'd say we skip dinner.” He says, his voice a bit deeper and definitely surer than before. Her eyes travel his face, holding the gaze of his bright green eyes for a second longer.
“We definitely should, Mr. Styles.” Y/N decides to call him by his last name as she sees the spark ignite in his eyes. “After all, you are the boss.” She chuckles.
“That's right, love.” He smirks. “I am.” Harry wraps his arms around her, pulling her off the stool and holding her securely against his frame. The younger woman wraps her hands around his neck and her legs around his waist, giving him all the assurance he needs. “God, look at you.” He murmurs before pressing his lips to hers.

I kind of wished that the persona 4 cast wasn’t stuck in a narrative where the main theme is ‘always accept the role thrust upon you and if you don’t like it, just force yourself to like it’. Yukiko actively wants to leave Inaba and create her own life, but is portrayed negatively when doing so, with her character arc involving her accepting the role thrust upon her. Don’t get me started on Naoto. I know you’re the Yosuke guy, and was wondering what are your thoughts on this when applied to Yosuke?
I want you to know that being called "the Yosuke guy" is now my greatest achievement you've made my day everyday for the last week
I do agree with you, and I think it was one of my initial issues with P4 where, for a game whose entire narrative is about being true to yourself, it sure falls back into that tired sense of social conformation a lot. It's grating, right, because it feels like what they really mean to say is "be yourself! but not too much and not in a way that makes other people unhappy and make sure you're still living up to other peoples expectations because that's the real reason why you're unhappy with yourself, you haven't accepted who we want you to be (which is the real you that we've decided) etcetc" and it just undercuts the emotional impact of their self-acceptance (see also kanji and rise). (dw I know P5 also kind of has the same problem, and I can go into a whole thing about the limits of transformative narratives written by capitalist corporations but i wont. today-)
I think with Yosuke though, it's really interesting because his character arc is more so tied to his relationship with Inaba as a place, rather than his fundamental self-perceptions. It's established early on that Yosuke hated the town for various reasons; he's a city boy who wants excitement and connection, but most of the town hates him so he's shit out of luck and it gives him little reason to like the town back. As the game progresses, he starts to like the town -- "it's not about where you are, but who you're with", so it's his friendships (and having people who accept him for who he is) that makes the place meaningful for him. And, at the end of the day, Yosuke did get what he wanted - excitement and connection.
But he's not tied to Inaba.
In P4AU, it's revealed that Yosuke's struggling to figure out what he wants to do in life, but by the end of it he tells Yu that he wants to leave the town and go to college with Yu in the city, and that he wants to see the world and experience more things for himself. It fascinates me because it very strongly implies that Yosuke's arc isn't complete as we're very expressly told that he's still developing. It stands in contrast to the other characters who have effectively been fixed into some role or position (Yukiko as an inn manager, Rise as an idol), and unlike them, Yosuke hasn't been permanently relegated to the things that he starts off hating. He hasn't been written to stay in Inaba or even to continue working at Junes after graduation, instead he gets the opportunity to try things. imo this makes his arc more situational (and therefore layered) - Yosuke's perspective on his circumstance matures, but who he is as a person doesn't have to change, and he's not forced to make a trade-off with the wishes he had at the start.
This might be because Yosuke is Atlus' favourite character of the contrast between Yosuke's city background and the rest of the Inaba folk. There's a guy in the school who talks about how most people who finish high school in Inaba just go on to get jobs, and very few actually leave for college and beyond. It's something deeply realistic and reflective of human geography IRL, because that's very common in small communities. A fear of the outside world because of how isolated they are (and Inaba kind of is - remember how Yosuke said they barely had cell connectivity up until recently) means they tend to look inwards instead of out, so there isn't as strong an awareness of what else there is out there and a belief that your options are basically just that (it also makes it all the more impressive that they have surprisingly well-traveled teachers). Yosuke, on the other hand, is very much connected to the internet and the outside world, and he also tends to think about the things that he's missing out on more tangibly.
It makes for a very interesting parallel with Yukiko, who had grown up in Inaba all her life and also expresses that same interest in wanting to go out and see the world. Yukiko's idea about the kind of options that she has is weirdly limited for someone who is supposed to be at the top of her class. When you meet her at the bookstore, she talks about getting a job license so she could leave town, and her first thought was interior decorator (do you even need a license for that? it's not a chartered profession unlike an architect or interior designer, but things might work differently in japan). And maybe she does have a genuine interest in it so I'm talking shit, but it also feels like it's a job that she's aware of only because of the ryokan. As far as I could tell, we don't actually see her express any interest in, say, furniture themes or colour swatches and fabric textures in the way Kanji very clearly does. Her world view, like everyone else, is bounded by the reach of her experience, but because Inaba is so small and cloistered it impedes her ability to imagine beyond that. Even when she's thinking of leaving, her options are still limited to her experiences at the inn. I'm still really salty about how she decided to stay at the ryokan in the end, because something much more satisfying in my opinion would have been for her to get the opportunity to try different things elsewhere in the world, and if she decided that the ryokan was the right thing for her, then, well, fine, I guess? Or some cliche like exploring other inns elsewhere so she could bring that knowledge home. Especially since she had the support of her family and the inn staff, it makes her narrative feel more like an acceptance of her lot in life, rather than a genuine realisation that yeah, this was what she wanted, which was what the game wanted us to think, except it's not convincing. Instead, it just feels like a weird stagnation because her initial wish of wanting to see the world beyond the ryokan was not satisfied.
But hey, guess who does!
Yosuke gets to learn how to make the best of a situation, but ultimately, he's not beholden to it. He - and his writers - understand that he's not done growing, so he doesn't fix himself to a role that he doesn't like. AND IT'S GOOD. I just wish everyone else got that opportunity.

Art Walk
Pairing: Dieter Bravo x reader (reader’s gender not explicitly stated/no use of pronouns).
Summary: A Dieter Bravo (artist AU?) meet cute. Is that what this is?
Rating: M (18+) - while this fic is not explicit, this blog is. Minors be gone.
Notes: Hi. I was really down about my unused theatre degree when I wrote this, and needed a little Dieter comfort. This is self-indulgent and all mistakes are my own. Enjoy!
Cross-posted on AO3
It had been years since you’d ventured out to an art walk. Not because you didn’t love them, but because you felt like a fraud at this point. You’d graduated with your art degree nearly a decade ago and had nothing to show for it. You had been sucked into the “stability” of corporate America (what a joke that was) and have slowly been having your happiness and creativity drained since.
You’d stumbled on it accidentally. You were going to grab takeout from your favorite hole in the wall downtown. Parking seemed to be harder than usual and the streets were more busy. As you approached your destination you noticed the packed alleyway. Vender tables lined the street and people were milling about in every direction looking at the different trinkets and knick-knacks. Drawn like a moth to a flame, you began to wander down the alleyway, completely abandoning your initial mission for food.
It felt like a fever dream. Everywhere you looked you saw artists pouring their soul into their work. Chalk art decorated the street. A graffiti artist was bringing a crumbling wall back to life. You ventured into a small studio space filled with art on the gallery walls. People gathered in a crowd to take in the performance art happening before your eyes.
As the crowd dispersed, you finally felt like you could catch your breath and something inside you came to life.
- - -
He took notice of you immediately. He was pulling out the uneven cut of burlap that would act as his canvas when he first spotted you. You were impossible to ignore. You took in your surroundings as if your life depended on it; as if everything would disappear if you blinked. And although your stare seemed distant and almost unfocused, he could see something come to life the longer you looked around. You disappeared into a small art gallery, but even with you out of sight, he couldn’t forget that look in your eye.
- - -
You left the small gallery and found yourself back in the alley. The streetlights had turned on in the time you had been inside and your body felt a steady buzz of excitement. The sound of a band caught your attention and you wandered in that direction hoping to find the source and taking the opportunity to take in more of the art booths along your path.
You didn’t reach your destination, never finding the source of the music. Instead you were stopped in your tracks by the sight in front of you. His curls were a mess on top of his head. His shirt and pants hung loose and comfortably on his frame. You didn’t even question the Crocs because they seemed so right for him.
Your feet were taking you to his space before your brain could even catch up. It was as if there was an invisible string attached to your core and you were helpless to fight against the pull. You finally managed to take your eyes off the artist and caught sight of the wrinkled canvas he was working on.
It took your breath away. You stood in awe as you took in the piece of art that wasn’t even completed but was already perfect in your eyes.
It was the alley, but not in a literal sense. You couldn’t explain it, but it was as if the artist had climbed inside your mind and witnessed what you saw felt when you first stumbled upon this place. You imagined that to others it may just appear to be a collection of shadows accompanied by bright colors. Abstract. Others would see it as abstract, but for you it was clear as day. It was this alleyway on this night.
You were so transfixed by the piece that you hadn’t even noticed the artist had stopped painting and was now focused on you. After a few moments he cleared his throat which snapped you out of your trance. Heat began to creep up your neck to your face, and you didn’t know if it was because you had been caught staring at his work or because now that you could see him fully you were taken aback by his beauty. That’s the only way you could explain it. Beauty. Maybe not in the traditional sense, but beauty nonetheless. His curls were tousled and loose, as if his fingers had been raking through them. His face was warm; decorated with scruffy facial hair and laugh lines that hinted at a life well lived. You noticed the sun glasses propped on his head and thanked your lucky stars that they resided there so that you could fully appreciate his eyes. They were soft and kind and had a spark of mischief behind them. If you thought his art was beautiful, you now realized that it didn’t hold a candle to the beauty of the artist himself.
He was smirking at you now. Fuck. There was no denying that you had just spent the last several seconds gawking at this complete stranger. And although embarrassment began to flood your system, you couldn’t bring yourself to regret it.
“Hey” he said. One word. He said one word to you and you held onto it for dear life. Trying to play it cool, but failing miserably, you managed to mumble a “hey” back.
“You like it?”
“It’s beautiful,” you rushed out on a shaky breath. “I’m sorry for staring, it just really spoke to me.”
“Never apologize for appreciating art, or beauty. I won’t.” His eyes were locked on you as he said this and you couldn’t help but wonder what he meant by that. You broke eye contact when you could feel the heat returning to your cheeks.
“This is the first time I’ve seen you here.” He said lazily, bringing your attention right back to him. He was cleaning a paintbrush on his shirt, which was already patterned with splotches of paint and other stains.
“Yeah it is. Just kind of stumbled upon it by accident.”
“Well you fit here.” He stated matter-of-factly.
You couldn’t help the nervous laugh that escaped you. That feeling of being a fraud slowly returning.
“You don’t believe me.” He stated plainly, it wasn’t a question.
“Sorry, it’s just I haven’t been in the art scene for years, so it’s hard to believe I fit.”
“You can doubt yourself all you’d like, but I’m right. It may take some time for you to believe it, but I like a challenge.”
Another nervous laugh escaped you. “That’s all well and good, but I don’t even know your name.”
“Hmm. No, I don’t suppose you don’t Moonbeam.”
The nickname knocked the wind out of you. You had only just met this man and yet you felt the trajectory of your life had now been changed.
“Dieter Bravo”
“Huh?” You asked, having forgotten the current direction of your conversation, too hyper-focused on the nickname he had bestowed on you.
“My name. Dieter Bravo. Now you know it.”
“Dieter Bravo'' you repeated, testing out the name for yourself. The smirk returned to his face, and his warm eyes darkened. Fuck. He loved the sound of his name falling from your lips. He wanted to hear all the ways you could utter his name.
“Di” you said, cutting in on his thoughts and trying the nickname on for size. At the sound of the nickname it was now Dieter’s turn to be breathless, totally caught off guard by the way it made him feel. He recovered quickly.
“Yeah Moonbeam. You can call me Di.” He winked and said with that signature smirk you’ve so quickly grown accustomed to seeing him wear. Yeah, you were in trouble, there was no doubt about that. And although you had no way of knowing it, Dieter was feeling the same way. You may have stumbled upon the art walk accidentally, but he didn’t believe in accidents or coincidences. The universe brought you to him, there was no doubt about that in his mind. You were meant to come into his life and he just knew that going back to a time before you wouldn’t be possible, not that he’d ever want to. He too knew he was in trouble, but knew it was going to be the best kind of trouble he could experience.

welcome to marina, **DOMINIC REIMANN** ( cismale, he/him/his ) ! they are a **26** year old who has lived on the island for **MOST OF HIS LIFE**. word on the street is they’re currently living in **MARINA HEIGHTS** and works as a **EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF REIMANN PROPERTY GROUP**. everyone also says they look a lot like MASON GOODING. what do you think?
Tumblr media
BASIC INFORMATION ⸻
full name : Dominic Rolf Reimann nickname (s) : Dom age : twenty six gender, pronouns : cis man, he/his/him orientation : heterosexual birthday : november 14, 1996 faceclaim : mason gooding time in town : most of his life current residence : his parents home in Marina Heights, but he also has a flat in tower hill.
BACKGROUND ⸻ trigger warnings: suicide, overdose, death .
The Reimann were one of the first families to move to Marina Hill. The third richest in the island. After World War I, their corporation was facing a financial crisis and saw the small island as an investment opportunity. It was there that Reimann Property Group, Inc was born. A major real estate investment trust now run by the great-grandchildren.
Dominic is the second oldest son of Danielle Good and Alexander Reimann- the island's 'perfect' couple.
Growing up, he could only be describe as a good boy. Always got good grades, well behaved, did really well in sports, listened to his parents and was kind to everyone no matter where they came from. He was good.
He was really close with his older brother Daniel, who unlike him was more reserved and kept to himself a lot. He is less close but very protective of his little sister, Daphne. His foster sister Marcy, however, he's really close with since the two can relate to each other.
A lot of Dominic’s personality changed when his older brother committed suicide. The family was shocked. Nobody knew that the older Reimann boy was struggling….at least nobody wanted to accept that. The family certainly didn’t. And they didn’t want to talk about it. If you walk into the Reimann mansion, the chances of finding a picture of Daniel were very slim. The family went as far as paying people off to say that it had been an accidental death.
Dominic was only 11 at the time and he didn’t understand why his brother did what he did. At least, not until he discovered his brother’s journal, in which he talked about all the pressure that comes with their last name, feeling lost and using drugs as an escape.
It was then that Dominic started rebelling. He started getting himself into trouble at school, drinking, fighting, smoking and drag racing. The more his parents pushed him, the more he rebelled and pushed the family away. It wasn’t until his grandmother and his mother stepped in and confronted him that he finally eased up and actually listened to someone. They didn't want to lose him as well.
ABOUT ⸻ trigger warnings: n / a .
Things changed at home, but only for a little bit. The closer he got to graduating, the more over-involved his parents got in his grades, the university he would be going to and what he would be majoring in. He didn’t have a lot of choice when it came to any of it. They were paying and he didn’t have access to his trust fund until he turned twenty-five.
He ended up going to Oxford University, his father's and his father's father alma mater. Dominic didn't want to go as he was in a 'serious' relationship at the time and she would be going elsewhere. But they promised they'd make it work. Obviously, that did not happen and the two ended parting their own ways.
Upon graduating, he moved back to Marina to join the family business. He was entrusted with Rise and Shine as his first project and to this day that is his baby. He spends most of his free time working out, partying, gardening with his grandmother, watching anime/playing video games at his flat. While he does live full time at his parents home, he likes to have his own flat for when he needs to get away or have a little privacy.
PERSONALITY ⸻ trigger warnings: n / a .
Reserved: When it comes to his family and his emotions, he doesn’t open up very much. There’s very little that he can say without bringing up his brother so he prefers to not say anything. Dom doesn’t want anyone feeling bad for him and he hates uncomfortable, emotional conversations.
Romantic: Despite what many think, Dominic is a relationship guy. He like to have that one person that knows him well and whom he knows. He loves to shower them with gifts, affection and trips. It’s the one of the few times he lets his guard down.
Friendly: Dom is kind to everyone that he meets. His easygoing attitude makes it easy for him to befriend just about anyone. He’s not the type to have problems with someone unless that person disrespects or crosses the line with him. He is very caring, especially to those closest to him.
He hates feeling controlled or like someone is playing with him. And when he feels that way, he goes out of his way to do the opposite of what that person wants him to do just to piss them off. It doesn’t matter the kind of trouble that it could get him in.
WANTED CONNECTS ⸻
little sister: Daphne is about 21-24 years old. She is less of a wild child than her brother and more of a goody two-shoes and very spoiled. They’re not super close, but he is very protective of her.
bestfriend/close friends: Dominic has lived here for most of his life. I'd love for him to have a couple of ride or die that have been in his life since forever. Could be any gender.
friends that drifted apart: i'm messy so I love me some drama. this could be someone he was friends in highschool and they drifted when he started rebelling. or maybe when he went away to college, they just naturally fell apart. or maybe even someone caught feelings and the other didn't so they just yknow stopped talking.
exes (1/2): Dominic has been in two serious relationships. One during his teens that lasted 6 years (on and off) and the other was when he moved back. They both would've ended bad terms. His teen love would've been someone with similar lifestyle to his, someone he runs into often because of similar family circles.
hookups, flings, etc: he be hoeing on the low

Born in Southern California, Camille Brooks loved the ocean, always looking forward to vacations to the beach. She became interested in the military at a very young age, and was often playing "soldiers" with the neighborhood boys. She fit in, and as she grew older and excelled at school, she graduated top of her class with a diploma. But college wasn't what she wanted, so she signed up for the US Navy as a seaman. Alongside her were her childhood best friends, and they rose together through the ranks and impressed the officers and higher ranked NCOs. At the end of basic training, they went their separate ways, and at the end of Advanced Individual Training, Brooks only had her best friend and boyfriend, Lukas West, by her side.
Two years go by and a position is opened in a newly formed Navy SEAL unit, and Brooks managed to beat the other competitors and got the spot immediately. With the world recovering from the Second Cold War, a new war was boiling and instead of governments against each other, it was governments fighting together against terrorism.
In 2050, Brooks and her unit, SEAL Team Zulu, would arrive in Bolivia to infiltrate a city that is run by a terrorist group that is planning to overthrow the Bolivian Government and gain access to the newly acquired missiles the country was given. While the mission was successful, Brooks was the only remaining soldier, and over 10,000 Navy soldiers died, including her fiancee, Lukas.
Upon arriving back to the US, Brooks was visited by CEO of Atlas Corporation, Jonathan Irons, who gave his condolences and offered her a position at Atlas. Brooks, having been honorably discharged due to injuries to the head that can affect her focus and succession in the military, and having nothing left, agrees and joins Atlas.
She would be taken to Camp David, an Atlas basic training facility in Virginia, shortly after attending all the funerals of her comrades and Lukas. She impressed everyone with her marksmanship skills and high intellect, and was given an opportunity to go to college by Irons. She accepted and got a doctorate degree in psychology, finishing top of her class once again and managing to get done with college in five years, all while continuing to fight as an elite soldier for Atlas.
Brooks is in charge of Gideon and his new squad of soldiers containing a new member, Jack Mitchell. They would go on missions in hope of bringing the world back from the brink of collapse, only to discover after the death of terrorist Hades, that Irons is planning world domination.
Brooks defects from Atlas with the others and vows to get revenge for every fallen soldiers that repelled against Atlas.

Arrivals & Departures 12 December 1943 - 08 October 2022 Diane M. Peck
Diane M. Peck passed away peacefully in Greenwich, CT on Saturday, October 8th, with her children and brother by her side.
Diane was born on December 12, 1943, in Port Chester, NY, the daughter of Rudolph and Mildred (Dianis) Hroziencik. Diane was predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years, T. Carl Peck. She will be greatly missed by her older brothers Rudy Hroziencik Jr. and William Hroziencik, their families, and the many nieces, nephews, and extended family of the Hrozienciks and Pecks.
Diane grew up in Byram, CT, where she was raised as a proud member of the Slovak community and attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She attended New Lebanon Elementary School and graduated from Greenwich High School in 1961. Diane went on to earn a degree from Berkeley Secretarial School and worked at IBM for several years before taking time off to raise a family. Upon returning to work, Diane was a Legal Secretary at the law firm of St. John, Park and Scott for many years. Later, she transitioned to the corporate world where she was an Executive Secretary at both AMAX and GE Capital.
On April 23, 1966, Diane married the love of her life, Thomas "Carl" Peck, and moved to Greenwich, CT. Diane was the proud mother to their son Tim (and wife Kelly) of Old Greenwich, and daughter, Karen (and husband Scott) Brady of Morris, CT. Known to almost all who knew her as "Nana", one of Diane's favorite pastimes was sharing stories about her seven beloved grandchildren: Matthew, Riley and Samantha Brady and Tim Jr., Elizabeth, Davies and Emma Peck. She loved to cook them meatloaf, knit them sweaters and blankets and give them treats they weren't allowed at home.
Diane was an avid reader and shared her love of reading with many. She volunteered in town, teaching English as a Second Language, helping many adults learn to read and write. She was also a Reading Champion volunteer with Greenwich Public Schools and thoroughly enjoyed her many hours with the young students at Glenville School.
Diane loved to travel. She toured Europe extensively in her early twenties with her friends. Then, together with her husband Carl, she traveled at every opportunity in her retirement years. They visited all 50 states, much of Canada, and several Caribbean islands. They never found a lazy river they didn't love. They particularly enjoyed discovering as many National Parks as possible in their travels. Even though her directions were often difficult to follow, Carl drove Diane on many wonderful adventures. They were never happier than when they were together.
Diane has truly cherished her life-long friendships. Her weekly lunches with kindergarten, high school, and work friends, shopping trips, and detailed reviews of every Hallmark movie truly comforted and sustained her, particularly in the year since Carl's passing. Diane was a strong, intelligent, and talented woman. She was a devoted "Nana" and will be truly missed by all. Her family takes comfort in the fact that she and Carl are now together again.
The family wishes to thank the amazing Doctors, Nurses, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care Staff at Greenwich Hospital, especially Dr. M. Sung Lee and his team.
A wake will be held Friday evening, October 14th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Castiglione's Funeral Home, 544 Old Post Rd #3, Greenwich, CT. There will be a memorial service, also at the funeral home, on Saturday, October 15th at 10:00 a.m. with burial immediately following at Putnam Cemetery, Greenwich, CT.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Peck Family Fund for Volunteer Firefighter Education and Training, established in Carl and Diane's name, at the Glenville Volunteer Fire Company, 266 Glenville Road, Greenwich, CT 06830. Diane also asked that you please consider donating blood through the American Red Cross if you are able.

Professional Development 4 - Job Research (MG Alba, BBC, ITV, Channel 4)
I’ve been researching jobs through MG Alba (Gaelic Media Service), the statutory organisation responsible for the majority of BBC Alba’s programming. They offer an annual training scheme in partnership with Screen Scotland and the BFI, with successful applicants offered paid full-time on the job training on work placements across various Gaelic and English language productions on scripted Film and TV, factual programming, and other projects within the creative digital media sectors. Unfortunately, the deadline for applications for 2024 was the 8th of April this year, so I’ve missed this year’s entry deadline. This is quite a shame as the first placement this year will be on set with Black Camel Pictures on the previously mentioned new high-end Gaelic TV drama An T-Eilean, filming on Harris & Lewis and in Glasgow.
Black Camel Pictures was founded by Arabella Page Croft and Kieran Parker, and is one of Scotland’s leading production companies. Previously they made the hit musical Sunshine on Leith, and are currently producing the thriller Annika for UKTV and PBS overseas. They have delved into animated series as well, and were awarded a BAFTA for The Brilliant World of Tom Gates in 2021. With their new series An T-Eilean, they are breaking new ground with the first high end television programme in the Gaelic language, and seem to be moving from strength to strength. Now that I am aware of these major players in the industry, I will keep an eye on any opportunities to work with them on an exciting television or film project, perhaps even my own.
The training scheme through BBC Alba is worth keeping in mind for future reference, however, as I feel I’d be particularly qualified with my fluency in Gaelic and my practical film making skills. I wasn’t able to find any other active opportunities offered by MG Alba, but I’ll keep an eye out for anything that pops up. I’ve also been researching Astar Media, the Gaelic projects agency responsible for organising the FilmG short film festival every year since last year. The company’s managing director, Murdo MacSween, is my contact for all things in the Gaelic film scene, and gets in touch with me when it comes to any opportunities. He gave me a paid job on FilmG 2023 as a runner, which was a great experience. I recognised so many people from the Gaelic world, and made many new pals.
I’ve researched Astar Media through Insider, and found an interesting quote: “The Gaelic language finds itself at a peculiar crossroads - unprecedented intrigue meets uncertain sustainability. Despite the soaring interest, funding stagnates, unchanged for a decade and a half.” This lack of funding in the Gaelic industries has been a consistent theme throughout my research, and is only now seeing change as outside money from corporations like Netflix are required to fund new projects. This is good, also unsettling to have American producers working in the Gaelic language of my heritage – ideally our own government would have the budget to fund these projects independently. As intrigue is spurred on by this new investment in Gaelic, hopefully the government takes notice and follows suit by increasing funding. Astar are proud of their work in revitalising the Gaelic sector and working expressly for the language, handling projects swiftly and effectively with a dedicated team from across Scotland contributing to its operations. I’d have to reach out to Murdo personally to inquire about any vacancies at his relatively new company, only formed in late 2021, and this couldn’t be necessarily relied upon, as its team seems committed and steadfast currently. I plan to get in touch with Murdo to inquire about work following my graduation.
Production company Young Films has been another area of my research. They are an award-winning Film and Television production company based on Sleat on the Isle of Skye, and was founded in 1986 by Christopher Young. It has been established for over 30 years, and have produced a wide range of feature films and TV. They produced the highly successful The Inbetweeners and their first feature film, as well as Gaelic Drama Bannan, as well as the only feature length Gaelic film Seachd: The Inaccessible Pinnacle. Young Films are pioneers, making equally impressive programming in English and Gaelic. Working with this company would be ideal for me, as although I’m keen to utilise my fluency in Gaelic, I don’t want that to limit my work in English either. Tony Kearney, the director of Gaelic Dramas like Bannan and An Clò Mòr, was my case study last year, meaning I have a contact connected to Young Films, which could prove fruitful.
Young Films run a talent development scheme called the Young Films Foundation that aims to find and aid a new generation of Scottish screenwriting talent, connecting them with key players in the UK film & TV industry including mentors, inspiring experts and commissioners. The programme provides the successful Scottish screenwriters a paid script commission from an established UK broadcaster for a feature film or TV drama or comedy. Each participant will be mentored by an experienced scriptwriter during a year of script development (supplemented by a programme of in-person events and online masterclasses) with the broadcaster and delivers a first draft script ahead of an intensive week’s residency on Skye in September 2024.
This seems ideal to me, as a budding screenwriter, as it would give me the opportunity to pitch to experts and commissioners which the broadcasted could take into production or go into turnaround, retaining the rights to my script. This opportunity seems brilliant, as the worst case scenario entails that I produce a highly polished script supervised by industry professionals and get to produce myself independently. Best case scenario, I get a programme/film written by myself adapted into a programme for the BBC or another broadcaster, which would be a dream come true. The programme this year has been running from September 2023 and will run through until November 2024, so I would have to apply for next years entry. I plan on getting in touch with them to inquire about deadlines for this application, and how I can be in the best position possible for application.
I’ve researched careers with Channel 4, and found two appropriate apprenticeships based in Glasgow, one as a Commissioning Apprentice working on Daytime and Features, and the other is working as a Commissioning Operations Apprentice. They start in January 2025, and offer a salary of £23,170 for the year, as well as many employer benefits. The deadline for applications is soon, on the 29th of April this year, so I’ll have to put my application for both of these opportunities together quickly if I want to undertake this opportunity. These jobs offer a lot of experience in admin, office skills, and the problem solving often associated with business, and would be another great opportunity to help me get my foot in the door of the UK film industry. Downsides of this option is its lack of a creative role, which is primarily of interest to me, but I’m also certain there is a lot of creativity needed when responding to certain problems that arise. Another downside is that these are Glasgow based opportunities, and I plan on remaining in Edinburgh for at least another year. Plans can change however, and given the benefits of this apprenticeship, and Glasgow’s booming Film and Television industry, I’m sure this would be a minor caveat. I have many pals in Glasgow, and wouldn’t mind relocating there, if only temporarily, to undertake an apprenticeship like this.
I’ve also been researching opportunities with STV, but have found little luck with opportunities currently as they stand. They are currently offering a job as a Trainee Broadcast Television Engineer, which I am certainly not technically qualified enough to apply for. The deadline has as expired now, but they were also offering a part-time role for Roku Developer, a streaming TV service that is partnered with STV. Currently there don’t seem to be any open opportunities with STV for entry this year, but their careers page is certainly worth keeping in mind for future reference.
I am going to conclude my final post with some thoughts on a screening I attended recently in Glasgow, and how it reflects on the Gaelic film industry as a whole.
On the 16th of April I attended the premiere screening of the short film “Le Chéile” at the Centre for Contemporary Arts on Glasgow’s Sauchiehall Street. This is the first film to include both the Scottish and Irish Gaelic, and tells the tale of a Rangers and Celtic fan becoming friends on a bus journey to their remote countryside homes. I thought this film was fantastic, especially given its budget of only £850. It looked great, was well performed, and told an unconventional tale of two characters bridging a cultural gap without delving into the mire of sectarianism. Following the film screening there was a Q and A with the film’s director, Róise Nic an Bheatha, and I asked her how she came up with the narrative device of the bus, which I found to be a liminal, dreamlike space and perhaps a character in itself. Róise gave me a great answer, giving me insight into her creative process as well as describing the difficulties of gaining access to a bus on such a small budget.
Róise’s film is another example of the exciting directions Gaelic Film and Television is going in, with many firsts still possible in this relatively new industry. This is encouraging for me, as I hope to be one of these pioneers like Róise, taking my Gaelic films in interesting directions that haven’t yet been explored. I made some pals at this event, using my somewhat rusty Gaelic (Gàidhlig mearachdail) to discuss the Gaelic media industry as it stands. We discussed An T-Eilean (The Island), as previously mentioned, which went into production on the 22nd of April. Surprisingly, I was in the runnings to be cast in a main role in this series, budgeted at over 1M per episode, but I withdrew my application when I realised my Gaelic was not strong enough to speak the language and act simultaneously. This indicates to me that I need to prioritise re-learning my Gaelic language skills beyond the simple, conversational level it is currently at, as it’s vital to be more proficient than I am in this industry.
To summarise my final post on my Professional Development thoughts, it is clear there are many potential doorways into the industry for me to investigate. I am mainly interested in the 2 -year Master’s courses offered by NFTS, as well as the Gaelic and English language production companies like Young Films and Astar Media. The process of narrowing down to a shortlist, compiling cover sheets and CV’s, and demonstrating how my work over the four years of my BA (Hons) in Film could help me undertake some of these opportunities, is now up to me in my Portfolio submission. Looking for jobs in Film and Television in Scotland has been an enlightening process, and I feel informed enough to move forward with what I know and put it into action.

The Hidden Benefits of PGDM Finance Programs
In today's dynamic financial domain, a strong foundation in finance is a valuable asset for professionals across various industries. While a Master of Business Administration (MBA) specialising in finance is a well-established path, the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) program in finance is gaining significant traction. This article delves into the hidden benefits of PGDM finance programs, making them a compelling choice for aspiring finance professionals.
Structured Curriculum and Industry Relevance:
Unlike traditional MBAs, PGDM programs are known for their focused curriculum. They typically concentrate on core finance subjects like financial accounting, corporate finance, investment management, risk management, and financial markets. This concentrated approach ensures in-depth knowledge and skill development in these critical areas.
Furthermore, PGDM programs often have a strong emphasis on industry relevance. They integrate current trends, real-world case studies, and practical applications of financial concepts into the curriculum. This practical focus prepares students to hit the ground running upon entering the workforce. Many PGDM programs also incorporate industry certifications like the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) qualification into their curriculum, giving graduates a competitive edge.
Shorter Duration and Cost-Effectiveness:
A significant advantage of PGDM finance programs is their shorter duration. Compared to a two-year MBA, PGDM programs can be completed in 12 to 18 months. This faster track allows students to enter the workforce sooner and start their careers in finance. Additionally, the shorter duration often translates to lower program fees compared to MBAs. This cost-effectiveness is particularly attractive for students seeking to minimise educational debt.
Flexibility and Diverse Learning Options:
PGDM programs often cater to the needs of working professionals by offering flexible learning options. These may include evening classes, weekend programs, or even online delivery formats. This flexibility allows students to balance their academic pursuits with their existing work commitments, making these programs ideal for career changers or those seeking to upskill within their current roles.
Focus on Soft Skills Development:
While a strong grasp of financial concepts is crucial, success in the finance industry also relies heavily on soft skills like communication, teamwork, leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving. PGDM programs recognise this and incorporate opportunities for students to develop these essential soft skills. This may involve group projects, presentations, case study analysis, and participation in business simulations.
Strong Industry Connections and Networking Opportunities:
Many PGDM programs boast strong relationships with leading financial institutions and corporations. This translates into valuable industry connections for students. Programs may involve guest lectures from industry experts, internship opportunities, and career placement assistance. These connections and networking opportunities can play a significant role in launching a successful career in finance.
Building a Strong Peer Network:
PGDM programs bring together a diverse group of students with varying educational backgrounds and professional experiences. This creates a dynamic learning environment where students can learn from each other's perspectives. Collaboration on projects and group discussions fosters teamwork skills and allows students to build a strong peer network. This network can prove valuable for professional support, mentorship, and potential future job opportunities.
Career Options Beyond Traditional Finance:
While a PGDM in finance equips graduates for traditional roles like investment banking, wealth management, or corporate finance, the skills developed are versatile and applicable across diverse industries. Graduates can pursue careers in financial analysis, risk management, financial consulting, or even venture capital.
The program's focus on data analysis, problem-solving, and financial modelling can also benefit careers in areas like fintech, business development, or even entrepreneurship. The strong analytical and decision-making skills honed through the program open doors to various exciting career paths.
While both PGDM and MBA programs offer valuable pathways for aspiring finance professionals, the PGDM in finance holds several hidden benefits. The focused curriculum, industry relevance, cost-effectiveness, flexibility, and emphasis on soft skills development make it a compelling choice. The shorter duration and strong industry connections are particularly attractive for those seeking a rapid yet impactful boost to their careers. So, when considering your options for a finance education, don't overlook the hidden advantages offered by a PGDM program.
