Love Sea: Tongrak is Kind of an Asshole, and I Like It
I watched this yesterday with some friends, so my Stray Thoughts were a little scattered because we were talking about BL conventions, Thailand's tourism goals, and who MAME was. Now, with some time to think, I wanna talk about my favorite thing: Tongrak is a rich asshole. I love this for Fort and Peat.
He Looks Down on People Poorer Than Him
We open with Tongrak dressed inappropriately for his trip and the weather, whining on his phone, just to show his disdain for even being sent on this vacation.
Then when he first arrives on the island, he looks around at people enjoying themselves and a sign they dedicated to their home reading "Heaven on Earth" and immediately called it hell. This is these people's home! He is a guest! I deal with this show in my home city all the time. Be respectful!
Next, the first thing he does is start shouting at Mahasamut about the motorcycle and his luggage. He doesn't slow down to ask if Mut can speak the central dialect, or if there are alternative modes of transport. Instead he just screams at the man and then starts talking shit in front of him like he can't understand what is being said. I give Americans shit for doing this in other countries, and I give northerners shit for acting like they can't understand our accents down here along the Gulf.
He was rude about that bar, too. He went there for attention, and got pissed at the idea that people there might be into Mut more.tjsn him. He then stormed off without paying for his drink!
This man is so stubborn and petty that he literally just starts sending him thousands of baht instead of just asking him to speak in the same dialect as him. I'm totally with Mut on not speaking to him nicely until Tongrak did it first. What's so wild about this scene is that it's text that Rak is mad that his condescension is having no effect.
Mahasamut is Responding to Tongrak's Energy
Mut is just responding to what Rak is giving him, and is doing everyone a favor by bearing the brunt of this spoiled man's fits. He was even kind enough to let this man know right away that he could understand him.
The big thing for me is he can see when Rak is trying to get one over on him and turns that around. Rak tried to play like he had the upper hand sexually and felt played. He tried to play about being full and got played.
We see that the people of the island admire Tongrak, and he's involved in their lives. He's clearly playing a role here that Rak's friends hired him to play to help their cranky friend relax and finish his book.
I also like that Mut has made it clearly he is down to fuck with Rak whether he pays for it or not, because Rak is trying to hook up with someone for inspiration for his novel. I like that he removed the wealth component there, because it's clear Rak is used to throwing money at all of his problems.
Finally, Mut stopped immediately when he realized he'd actually scared and upset Rak. He doesn't actually want to hurt this man.
Why This Rocks for Peat and Fort
These two found a good rhythm in Love in the Air. They're good at this form of asymmetric bickering and flirtation. However, this time Peat gets to play the older, richer character. It's fun for me, because I think there's going to be a bunch of transference from LITA that covers how much of a jerk Rak is being to others.
I am glad that these two aren't reprising the same characters, and are being given a reasonable way to take advantage of their existing dynamic and tools. It's interesting that these guys can tap into similar beats without it feeling like the same characters.
On the Colorism
I see it, and it's there. However, I don't think MAME is an outlier in using it in her shows. There's a really rough sequence in Fish Upon The Sky (with Neo no less) that comes to mind immediately. I also just think that the skin tone stuff seems built in to a lot of the works we encounter (especially considering that some of these guys are literally brand ambassadors for skin lightening products or clinics). I think there's something to say about the way Mut is teasing Rak with a country bumpkin bit that could almost be read as race play, and there's maybe something to unpack there with far more nuance than I think we normally bring to BL.
But hey, while I have you here, now's a good time to say that if we want to tackle how race affects the queer experience, For The Boys is right there!

Ooh! 2 for tiny James and human Oliver? (I'm so curious to see how you'd make that situation happen 😭)
2. “So are you just going to keep me in a jar forever, or…?”
Although it did take a minute to figure out a situation that Oliver might trap James in a jar I had a lot of fun with this one hehe
From this!
-----
Since James had gotten more comfortable around Oliver he had also been getting more reckless.
Oliver could remember the first time the borrower took a leap off of the counter, shouting something about a ‘trust fall’. Thankfully he caught him before he could get injured, but that only spurred the man on more… At first Oliver fretted every time, but soon enough it became like a routine.
After realising that James's reckless behaviour was a sign of his trust in him, Oliver became fond of those sorts of interactions. He could usually tell when James would start being more impulsive like that, and the borrower would also avoid messing around too much if Oliver was trying to focus.
Today Oliver was filling in a bunch of forms, flipping between various files and writing notes down for different referrals. He was focused and a bit tired because of how long it was all taking. Even so, he minimised any distractions so he could dedicate himself to the task at hand.
James didn't get the memo clearly.
Oliver was filling the forms in at the kitchen island, and as he worked and sipped on his cup of tea he was suddenly made aware of James’s presence when the borrower climbed onto the island counter.
“What are you up to, mate?” He asked, curiously, moving closer to the forms and inspecting them with a discerning gaze. Oliver had learned that James wasn't able to read and only recognized certain words and phrases for survival purposes, so it was no wonder he didn't understand what he was doing. Still, Oliver was tired from the repetitive task and trying to focus.
“It's for work.” He responded simply, using his right hand to gently shoo the borrower off of the files, worried that they might get footprints on them and he'd have to reprint the papers and fill them in all over again. Oliver yawned slightly, squinting down at the forms with exhaustion. “Can't chat at the moment. Perhaps tomorrow…?”
James bristled at the sight of the giant hand shooing at him, frowning and raising an eyebrow at the human. He looked tired… Why would he keep working if it's making him tired?
“Maybe you should take a break?” He pointed out, moving closer again, not really seeing the importance in all these papers and words… It couldn't hurt to stop for a bit, could it? Oliver certainly seemed like he needed it.
The human shook his head with a hum, continuing to write undeterred by James's advice. James narrowed his eyes slightly before thinking to himself about how he could get his friend to see reason. It wasn't healthy to just stare at paper for that long, surely… Getting a great idea he smirked to himself, side-stepping towards the edge of the counter closest to where Oliver was sitting, before jumping off.
Oliver snapped awake immediately, jolting and quickly catching James before he could reach the floor, falling back off of the stool in the process. He cupped his hands together around James to shield him, but that left him with no hand to brace his fall. He groaned in pain as he fell onto the hardwood floor, nothing broken, but his body wasn't exactly thanking him either.
“James…” He began with a scolding tone as he opened up his hands, revealing the dishevelled borrower and a cheeky smile on his face. Oliver's heart was still racing from the scare— he thought for a moment that he wouldn't be able to catch him in time. “I almost didn't catch you. Why would you do that?”
“But you did.” James pointed out, much to Oliver's frustration. He didn't have the capacity to deal with stuff like this when he was doing time sensitive work and was already exhausted. James shook off the slightly miffed look in the human's eyes, despite how it made his instincts scream in protest. “And like I said, you need a break. Didn't mean to make you fall though…”
Oliver sat up more with a small groan, his back still aching from the sudden fall.
“I don't have time for a break tonight. I apologise, but you need to leave me to my work.” He managed to retain his composure for the most part, trying to emphasise that he needed to focus. He couldn't focus if James was going to be chucking himself off of every surface, whether he was trying to help or not. He stood up.
“Well if you're not gonna take a break, I guess I'll have to keep jumping off until you do.” James insisted stubbornly, crossing his arms. Oliver squinted at him for a moment, trying to figure out if he was telling the truth or not because he knew James was a very sarcastic person and he usually didn't pick up on it. With a sigh, he placed James back down on the counter and sat down again.
“If you do that, I'm not against putting you in a jar for the time being whilst I get my work done.” He responded, just in case James was indeed telling the truth. He hoped it would dissuade the borrower, but as he picked his pen up again James did just as he said he would.
Oliver was faster to catch him this time, and even managed to stay seated, but his frown only deepened at the childish behavior his friend was exhibiting. He knew that most borrowers probably lacked an understanding of jobs and how important they were, but he thought James would be at least a little more respectful.
Fine. I did warn him, so he already accepted the consequences beforehand.
Standing up, Oliver walked over to the drawer he kept empty jars in— usually they would be for him to fill with homemade preserves and spices, but tonight they would be filled with a borrower. He pulled one of the taller one's out and placed it onto the counter with a ‘tink’.
“Woah woah— y-you weren't being serious, right Oliver?” James suddenly began to kick at his fingers in protest, but Oliver was too tired to register the very real fear in his friend's movements.
“I’ll let you out when I'm done. It should only take a few hours.” He assured, lowering his hand to the mouth of the jar, tilting it so that James would slide in without any risk of falling and injuring himself. Once he was in the jar Oliver set it down and sat down at the island again, getting to work.
“Oliver! Let me out!” The borrower banged his fists against the glass fruitlessly, panicking slightly at the feeling of being trapped. He can't be serious. He won't actually leave me in here, right?
But as Oliver ignored his shout and picked up his pen, James felt his throat go dry. Oliver was always no nonsense, but he would never go this far… Unless he was actually starting to get sick of him? James sat down at the bottom of the jar silently, watching Oliver write.
After a few hours Oliver didn't let him out— he had fallen asleep at the island counter before finishing, and though James made a few attempts to get him to wake up it didn't work. He was getting more anxious the more time that passed, resigning himself to his fate in the jar for however long Oliver decided to keep him in.
Oliver woke up with his neck aching terribly from the way he had been leaning over and lying his head on the cold hard counter. He yawned, blinking slowly as his surroundings become more clear the more he woke up. Oh. I must have fallen asleep before I finished. What time is it?
He checked his watch, squinting at the numbers. 5:30 AM. That's enough time to finish. He reached towards the pen at his right only to straighten up in surprise at the sight that greeted him. Everything suddenly came rushing back, and Oliver was hit with a wave of guilt as he made eye contact with James, who looked so small huddled in the corner of the jam jar.
“So are you just going to keep me in a jar forever, or…?”
Oliver's eyes widened at the defeated tone James was speaking in, concern furrowing his brows as he leaned down to peer at his friend through the glass, dropping the pen immediately.
“Stars… Of course I'm not, James. I'm sorry, I… I must have fallen asleep.” He shook his head, expression becoming serious although riddled with guilt. “I shouldn't have trapped you in the first place. I wasn't thinking as clearly as I should have been…”
As he reached for the jar he paused again, thinking better of picking James up right now after what he did. He might be scared of me. I would deserve as much…
“Is physical contact okay? Or should I just tilt the jar over?” Part of him was still hopeful that he hadn't broken James's trust enough that he would be uncomfortable with being touched. They had been doing so well after all; Oliver didn't want James to feel like he needed to go back into hiding again… But he would respect it if that was the case.
James seemed to hesitate before averting his gaze guiltily.
“Just…tilt it, please mate.” His voice made it clear that he hadn't slept at all— probably kept awake thinking his friend had suddenly betrayed him.
Oliver nodded slowly and reached forward again, carefully turning the jar so that the borrower could walk out by himself. Once that was done he stood up and put the jar back away in the drawer, gaze lingering on it for a few extra moments.
What does he think of me now?
James watched as Oliver walked around to the other side of the island, staring at his back and thinking to himself. He was still pretty upset about being trapped for so long, and by all means he should be packing up and leaving immediately. But Oliver sounded genuinely remorseful…and honestly, James had never had a friend before. He didn't want to give that up.
He continued to watch as the human sat back down, glancing him up and down for a couple of moments. James took a breath before running and jumping off of the counter, just as he had last night. Please catch me please catch me—
“James!” Oliver's alarmed voice boomed, and James was relieved to feel warm hands close around him. He should feel mortified, but all he could do was smile when he was raised up to his friend's eye level. “I…should I put you down..?” He asked, a hint of nervousness in his furrowed expression.
“Nah.” James replied, patting the thumb beside him. “But you should take that break.”

shifttok is indeed funny asf.
i haven’t been on there in years and i somehow started getting videos abt it on my fyp. and in this one video this girl was questioning if it was really real or not. a lot of ppl in the comments were saying stuff like “it’s just lucid dreaming” and whatever other excuse they pulled out of their asses.
i decided to leave a comment which i believe i mentioned quantum jumping in?? i’m not sure cause it happened like three weeks ago or something so i don’t remember fully but anyways
this person replied and said that i was delulu 💀 i wasn’t necessarily affected by it because hey, you got your own beliefs and i got mine 🤷🏾‍♀️ (it’s 1:11 as im typing this!!)
and i told them that they can’t argue with me without doing research. that just ended up them continuing to insult me and call me delulu (might’ve also said that im going through psychosis???)
they eventually stopped replying once i mentioned that calling me delulu is unnecessary and doesn’t help their case or prove their point.
now we all know shifttok is the side of the media that demotivates us the most right? honestly it doesn’t last long. dont get me wrong there are times where i wonder if i am delusional because im literally shifting for a fictional character and i have to pause and ask myself what im doing with my life 💀💀
but i don’t let the thoughts or opinions get to me fully because like i said earlier, i know what i believe in and what i don’t believe in so no one’s opinion should harm me or stop me from accomplishing anything.
what i’m saying is don’t let shifttok or anti shifters get to you. it’s easier said than done but you have to think from a logical standpoint. if they ACTUALLY did their research, they would know it’s real and wouldn’t be talking out of their asses like that. and they were probably shifters once too but didn’t shift instantly like they expected 🤷🏾‍♀️ overall they’re a bunch of negative nancy’s that want to stay small minded.
people forget that this is a JOURNEY. its not just about getting closer to your dr. it’s also about discovering new shit about yourself and becoming more emotionally and spiritually aware. literally 6 years ago i had no idea that i found negativity as a friend which is why i had a hard time succeeding (i’ll possibly make a blog on what im talking abt with that)
shifting takes energy and patience. if you can’t handle that then maybe it isn’t for you. but i promise you, throughout your journey you’ll eventually block out negativity and doubts which will result in you being able to think clearly.
i hope yall understand what i’m getting at cause im not the best explainer and i just kinda type out whatever words is coming to my mind first 💀💀

Bestiaryposting Results: Hraetnug
We've got a good variety of results here, so I'm just going to run through the usual stuff and get to them.
If anyone isn't sure what this "bestiaryposting" thing is about, you can find an explanation and previous entries at https://maniculum.tumblr.com/bestiaryposting.
All of the art below is based on this entry:
If you want to participate, next week's bestiaryposting will be based on this entry:
And the art is below the cut:
Tumblr media
@silverhart-makes-art (link to post here) decided something with wings that doesn't fly might well be a flightless bird, and has drawn a very good penguin/auk/thing. I really like how it's posed against the starry sky; it's evocative. For additional details, check the linked post.
Tumblr media
@ectocs (link to post here) thought of sea turtles instead -- which I can totally see. I've had the good fortune to witness a few sea turtle hatchings, and the description of the eggs in the sand absolutely tracks. However, there's the issue that the idea of wing-shaped fins is not compatible with "its feet are like those of a camel" -- hence the very cool shell design. I like it; it's quite clever. The linked post contains some additional discussion of the thoughts and inspirations behind this design, go look at it. (Also, thank you for providing alt text.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
@cheapsweets (link to post here) has taught me a new word with this post -- xerocolous. Also, we have a medieval-style dragon here, complete with that ubiquitous wavy-eared head -- it does fully fit the description, too. Always appreciate a little medieval styling; those damned ears made me smile. There's additional explanation in the linked post -- also, thank you for providing alt text.
Tumblr media
@sweetlyfez (link to post here) has laid out a brief but excellent explanation of their design process. It seems to have gone like this:
"What animals do this with their eggs?" "Snakes do that." "But snakes don't have wings or camel-like feet." "This one does."
Brilliant. Love it. No notes. (Also thank you for providing alt text.)
Tumblr media
@pomrania (link to post here) also went with "flightless bird" and admits the inadvertent resemblance of their design to Big Bird -- it does have a certain Muppet-like quality, I must say. For additional information, please see the linked post. I particularly like the note that giving it a "no thoughts head empty" facial expression was fully intentional.
Tumblr media
@coolest-capybara (link to post here) also thought of sea turtles and then questioned how this could be compatible with the camel feet. Their solution, which I think came out extremely well here, was to simply draw a camel/turtle hybrid. I kind of love this design -- and, of course, the stylized art.
Tumblr media
@strixcattus (link to post here) has drawn a very charming flightless bird. I really like the sort of shaggy design, which I assume is indicative of kiwi-style feathers. As is normally the case, Strixcattus has also included a modern naturalist-style interpretation of the animal, which I, as usual, recommend reading via the linked post.
To the Aberdeen Bestiary...
Tumblr media
Once again, this is basically the same bird we see in a bunch of these, with the exception of its (surprisingly accurate) camel-like feet. However, this is in fact the ostrich. (I have no idea why one of them appears to be eating the eggs.)
I honestly don't have a lot to add here. Bit surprising to see a different set of myths about the ostrich rather than the "head in the sand" thing.

Trembling Essence:💙Choice exploration + finished scenes💙
Tumblr media
Hello and welcome new followers, here's an update on how things are going with the game! Firstly a big thank you to the sudden influx of support I got this week, I'm happy knowing people liked the little meme video I did! :,]
This post might be a little long since I had to rewrite a few things, I was trying to upload a picture of one of the new areas you can go in but I got an error and couldn't save what I wrote. :,S
Tumblr media
Anywho, I mainly focused on quality of life changes and continued working with the one of the endings you can get at the start of the game.
I don't really know where to start but this ending took a lot longer than expected to really hit what I've been trying to go for. At first, it was going to have two different endings. I took out one of them because I didn't have much of a connection with it and I liked the idea of it being straightforward instead. When I went back over it, everything happened too quickly for my liking. To fix this I went back and added a few choices to at least give you an idea of what the area is like and how it effects the player(Y/N) while making sure the dialog transitioned correctly with what you see on the screen. It's nothing too wordy but I do like it a lot more than I did before. Even though this is still considered one ending there is a alternate version you can get depending on a certain choice. Towards the end I fixed up all the spelling errors I could find and happily enough, there wasn't many. For right now I'd say this ending is finished! Yay! x]
Here's one of my favorite CG's I drew for it:
Tumblr media
I love how it turned out because I really want to do different angles and perspective through the terrain, I think this one is my favorite so far! :,,]
Here's a evening time version of it:
Tumblr media
It's suppose to be raining in this image but I still need to practice getting the angle correct. :,,]
I'm also fixing/brainstorming up the second/third ending. This one will have two different areas you can navigate through to get an idea of where you are and a few hints of lore that will be referenced later on in the game. Those that have played the [Extended Demo] you probably know which ones I'm talking about. >;]
Tumblr media
I already like the idea of them but for one of the paths, I didn't have enough time to branch it out and make backgrounds for it in the [Extended Demo] so here's a peek of a placeholder since I'm still sketching stuff out, nothing is finalized yet. :[]
Tumblr media
Super close to the cabin section, yay! I actually miss writing/drawing out the segments in the cabin a whole bunch so I really can't wait to fix up that part once I'm done with the swamplands. :,,]
I said last week I'd post some of the new backgrounds/areas so here you go:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kofi update:
Tumblr media
I also had a small talk with my play testers and one of the things they brought up is that I should be promoting my ko-fi better so from now on I'll have little mini doodles doing so at the end of every game development post as a way to promote it! :] All donations and tips help tremendously while I work on the game. If you like what I create, please consider supporting what I do here! I was able to use previous tips to get a new wrist support brace when I'm drawing so a very big thank you to everyone who gave a tip! :,,]
Q&A / Ask box is open:
If you have any questions about Trembling Essence/Noah feel free to ask here or on itch.io please. This makes it easier for me to see and answer accordingly! I would really like to hear from you guys!
I enjoyed answering the asks I got recently this week! I'm trying to finish the rest when I can including the ones I remember that got deleted. There were some I genuinely couldn't answer because it would require me to mention major spoilers/the questions have spoilers in them. :,]
This post is getting really long now so that's all I have to discuss, thank you guys very much for all of the encouraging support this past week, I appreciate it a whole bunch! :,,]

Whenever Steve’s dad pulls an asshole move that particularly pisses him off, Steve takes his friends spite shopping with his father’s credit card
It happens first with Robin when the mall just burned down and Steve’s still visibly injured from what went down there and his father is already on him about finding a new job as if he got fired or quit for fun and his job didn’t burn down and sure his dad doesn’t know the real version of what happened, but he almost died ‘in the fire’, can’t he at least have an inch of breathing room?
But he hasn’t cut Steve off yet, he’s just threatening to if he doesn’t start looking for a new job soon. So Steve picks up Robin and takes her to every store in town still open and buys himself a bunch of shit and keeps asking her what she wants and suggesting stuff for her and when she brushes off one of the things he shows her as way too expensive, Steve tells her he’s paying. And Robin looks hesitant, so he adds, “Well, actually, my douche father is. That’s the whole point of this. So the more expensive the better.” And Robin just studies his face for a moment and then turns and says, “In that case…” and just starts grabbing things and they both grin
After this, Robin is a staple in the tradition of spending as much of his father’s money in one day as possible whenever Steve wants to send a message. The kids also frequently benefit from Steve’s random “Come on, we’re going shopping. You can get whatever you want. I’m buying.”
They don’t know why Steve sometimes just randomly decides to spoil them all and they don’t question it. Obviously he can afford it. At first, they try to just get a few things but then Steve starts shoving more at them and asking if they want it, so they start trying to push the limits of what they can get, but it becomes very clear very fast that Steve has no limit for what he’ll buy for them when he’s in this mood
Steve’s father hasn’t acknowledged Steve’s rage spending once. Steve knows that’s probably a good thing, but at the same time it annoys the hell out of him that he doesn’t know if his father even notices or cares. And that’s why the scale of his spending goes up every time

THE SCIENCE WOMEN TRIO, Re: Feelings and Betrayal
Alright I'll bite. Here's my headcanons on the development of the relationships between Solaris, Fabricator, and Prism. I've been thinking of how they interacted with one another, with more focus to what happens Post-IEYTD 2 up to Post-IEYTD 3 (because that's when they have the most chances for interaction). A.K.A: I am not normal about these three. They are constantly revolving around my head.
Small spoilers for these games ahead!
SOLARIS & FABRICATOR
The duo with the most history, they've been working together for a While
Solaris is probably the only coworker Fabby openly respects/enjoys the company of. They have a lot of things to bond over
(Though Fabby's known to rag on Solaris a bit. "She's inelegant" type stuff. I think Solaris doesn't really mind it because Fabs still calls her darling and talks with her fondly and all that gay shit)
btw im not sure if they'd fully acknowledge the nature of their relationship. The idea of them being girlfriends at some point / them in perpetual pining are both fitting to me
Which is a bit surprising because of their differences, ESPECIALLY with regards to their loyalty to Zor
They do butt heads often when it comes to their projects, but a lot of the time they could see where the other one is coming from and in the end they find a way to compromise their visions
But I think their loyalty to the cause is a huge sore point between them
Solaris has always felt detached, while she's intimidated by Zor she has her own stuff to do. Though she's starting to think if she should really stick around in the first place (seeing as how quickly they disposed of Juniper after he turned his back at them)
And she's worried about Fabby and her undying loyalty. Yes she was basically Zor's right hand man, but when it comes to betrayal how can you really be sure...?
She may have tried to talk to her out of it, but Fabby has proven time and time again that she's not open to discussion
On the other hand Fabby has been trying to get Solaris to change her mind and GOD why doesn't she just want to be truly loyal to Zoraxis?! The only reason Solaris is scared, Fabby thinks, is that she's already at odds with Zor, if she kept that up they'll obviously betray her
IN MY Head this comes to a tipping point where Fabby told Solaris about their new scientist, Dr. Prism, and Fabby was already openly talking about Zor's plan to betray her. and Solaris is like oh no.
So she leaves. and then denounces zoraxis on the way out.
Fabby doesn't admit it (She'd never admit anything) but it felt like it was a personal betrayal, as much as it was a betrayal to Zoraxis
They were supposed to take on the world together...how could she leave so quickly?
and she thought ok. good fucking riddance. Zor tells her to think that. so she does
FABRICATOR & PRISM
Fabricator doesn't like Prism. She doesn't like how she's just in Zoraxis for the kinesium...if she used her skills for the true goals of Zoraxis she would've been much nicer to her
She doesn't want to bond. What is the Point. The one other person she trusted betrayed her. Besides they were going to betray Prism anyways. Nip em in the bud before they live long enough to pull a fast one on Them
Unfortunately, Prism reminds her so much of...the sun. She's smart, resourceful, ambitious, and her thirst for vengeance is admirable. She admits Prism's research is extensive and well-made
In time she eventually grows to respect her, even if begrudgingly. She's kind of mad at her for making her think this way about her like HOW FUCKING DARE
On the other hand. Prism. Dear sweet Prism. She's absolutely intimidated by Fabby and she tries to avoid being alone in her presence for too long. It's a bit hard because they're the ones that spend the most time together
Fabby hovers over her to an uncomfortable degree and she digs at her a lot. Prism has always had the idea that she's not someone to piss off so she tries to not. do that
She knows Fabs is a brilliant scientist but she had trouble with talking to her at first. She would be open about Fabby's opinions if she didn't lace her words with poison all the time
There's respect. and Fear. If there was a chance for them to really, truly bond...Prism doesn't know. Fabby doesn't make herself open to friendship and whatever so Prism doesn't try. I mean whY would she. For all she knows Fabby hates her guts
I'd think there was no time for her to change her opinion/get closer to Fabby because at that point she has been betrayed by Zor
And now she survived and she ran away
Fabby doesn't know what to think of it. To be honest. Maybe she's relieved that somehow she survived, despite everything. Why she'd feel that way...she has no time to dwell on that.
PRISM & SOLARIS
I think they'd (accidentally) meet post-IEYTD 3. Far far away from Zoraxis and the Agency
At the get-go I think they'd get along very, very well. Engineering women who's had awful, awful experiences in this one corporation they used to work for? That's neat, actually
They somewhat know of each other. Solaris left just before Prism got on the team, and Prism has heard stories of an ex-commander who piloted THE Death Engine
I think Prism would have also read the paper where Solaris denounced Zoraxis while Prism was working for them. She'd probably say she was blinded by vengeance for the Agency to get second thoughts.
Solaris feels bad for Prism, I think. There was a (small) length of time where she could have talked Prism out of what she's about to do. But she chose not to
Prism doesn't blame her, of course - they weren't close, and it was a hard time for Solaris. (Besides, she couldn't have undergone that character development if she was being reasonable, god forbid)
It's good for them to have someone to air out their Zoraxis experiences. It's nice to know you're not alone
At the back of her mind, Prism knows that Solaris and Fabby were . close. But that's not something people bring up out of the blue, damn
(Though knowing that Solaris left when she did made Prism think if this was related to how Fabby acted around her. Much to think about.)
Without the pretense of working for something I think they'd enjoy just hanging out, you know? Bonding about building contraptions and machinery for fun. For the first time in a while they feel relaxed about their craft
They'd find appreciation from one another. No more backhanded comments, looks of disappointment, fear of mistakes, total ignorance. If one of them screws up I think they'd just laugh it off and try to fix it together
They'd also share their interests, like Solaris talking about space and Prism talking about robits (and cocktail mixing) and such
Maybe Prism asks to crash at her place for an undisclosed amount of time and Solaris doesn't mind. In fact she likes her company. After moving to the countryside she hasn't really.. talked to anyone in a while.
These could be read as platonic/romantic sense btw I'm like. wow. give these women a break
And there you go! Science women polycule moment I guess!!! I actually haven't written something like this before, but it was really fun to just ramble what I want. Not sorry for the wall of text <3 Beaming you my headcanons you have NO choice

you’re thinking about how easily massive numbers of the wildly antisemitic tankies would have been pulled into the actual political tenets of (esp early to mid 20th century) armed Zionism and you’re laughing?????
#This folks is why analysis of ideology and the structures of an ideology is important#Rather than just random ass ethnic signposting#A lot of people see Zionism as something suspicious and jewy that had to do with Jews - I don’t like them#But the reality of Zionism as an initially distinctly leftist branch of political ideology that sought to liberate an oppressed people#With that tiny niggly wiggly issue of the fact people might#Already have lived on that land???? Ohhhh boy#All these cottage core back to the land the world would be better if I could reject modernity and return to the ancient ways of Farming#Society is broken it cannot be fixed the only option is to found a New Tough society that will fix all our previous problems#And we’ll get round to it in heavily armed leftist commune farming settlements#Which we will defend with violence because any violence in the name of an oppressed people is justified and our legitimacy comes from the#Rifle!!!#The only reason you see this ideology as inherently removed and bizarre is antisemitism and the only reason you see yourself removed from i#Also antisemitism!!!#You would have done numbers in ahdut ha-avoda you would have called Ben gurion abbaleh/#Remember: a bunch of the people who got sucked into this of ideology weren’t the *rich Republican aipac Jews*!*’ your head#They were broke often very secular Jewish leftists working dead end gig economy jobs in farms and sweatshops for whom the idea of a Brave#New World with a. Brave new culture was very appealing and liberating#It offered something new to the broken.#It’s important to talk about this stuff to talk about how it can be undone#But also. The world is not divided into the Oppressed and the Unoppressed#Your political ideology does not stop you from hurting others#No political ideology even anti capitalism or leftism is innately pure- all can harm others#No ethnic and cultural identity no matter how oppressed is free from the potential to subjugate others#No identity or ideology is greater than the right of other people to live freely#Cycles of oppression and the pyramid structure of many empires result in oppressed people harming other oppressed people#Many many goyim think that they’re removed from the logic of Zionism because they aren’t Jews because it’s something wierd and jewy#But I see a lot of the most destructive logics parroted by leftists every day

was looking through old posts and i'm surprised to see that i seemingly didn't have any commentary on anything in 3 in chapter 7, 8 or 9, the posts related to 3's story go from "my first reaction when i saw yopple-bot was 'i love you. but also you are definitely the boss for this chapter-'" to "i have been in hell all day. hell being bada-bing tower." funny to me cuz those chapters are like, the best ones sdfkljsdfjfsdkjlfsdjkl-
#puppy rambles#yo-kai watch#yw3#i love dukesville. yo-kai watch wild west. though also everyone in bbq talks like they're in the wild west-#i don't blame myself for not having any commentary on hazeltine mansion tbh. it sucks ass. i mean it's kind of fun but like#god is it annoying. i think using the mechanic of switching between nate and hailey for puzzles is a cool idea but. bad execution#very bad execution. it is so annoying#especially the section where you're in the basement and have to use the drill a bunch#... why are there prison cells in the basement anyways??????? i just realized how fucking weird that is-#i'm mostly just annoyed by the dining room puzzle tbh. i KNOW the fucking answers but verygoodsir is an ASSHOLE for some reason#and won't let me choose the FUCKING CORRECT DOORS#3's so fucking amazing tbh. i really wanna replay it soon. don't wanna have to delete a save file though#wish 3 had three save files like 1 and 2. i get why though i mean it's the biggest 3ds game klsfdjfskjfsdjksdf-#i wanna like. actually use my originyan for once. i might just end up using nyases ii instead tho fsdkljjdsfjskd-#i love every chapter in 3 after nate and hailey meet tbh. the bestie moments are so good#though also i don't think it was an amazing idea tbh. it means there's six main characters after that point#sometimes one character will go several cutscenes without talking at all. it's usually buck#he doesn't have any dialogue during any of the key quests in new yo-kai city. which is pretty amusing admittedly#i think the writers just forgot about him or something fslkdjdfslkjfsdljkdf-#i think my favorite thing related to that is like. during the stuff in bada-bing tower komasan and komajiro are there too#but they don't have any dialogue. which makes it seem kind of pointless#i get why they're there plot-wise but like. at that point you should either have them leave before you go to bada-bing tower#(esp since they don't end up in the ufo with everyone else. idr if there's a reason for that there probably isn't-)#(i think i slightly blocked out everything in bada-bing tower cuz it is so grueling)#or just. give them dialogue???#i love 3 and all but it definitely has some problems-#which is why i'm so excited to rewrite it <3 for both of those reasons. i can fix things. and also it's the best game#just. full-stop. not just the best yo-kai watch. i just think it's the best game ever#that title changes based on my current biggest hyperfixation though sfldfsjdkslfdjkfdj-#i think i'd say my overall top 5 is like. yo-kai watch 3. deltarune. ummmm. fantasy life is up there
