Tumblr media
“yo- bro!” jj yells, a blur of blonde hair as he ducks out of the way of rafe’s unexpected fist, dropping the grocery bags he’d been carrying in both hands onto the hard pavement, the smash of beer bottles heard as rafe chuckles.
“think i wasn’t gonna- find you or somethin’ pogue? i mean- cmon.” he smirks devilishy, kooky shirt rolled up around his sleeves as he whistles, knuckles cracking as jj pops back up, a groan from rafe when he hits him square in the nose. “you’re gonna fuckin’ regret that.”
you sit in the front seat of the twinkie, around the corner from the little convenience store, knawing at your nails absentmindedly when you hear a muffled yell. your eyes brows knit curiously, cracking the door open to the stuffy van, letting your ears zero in on the sound.
as fast as you hear it you’re on your feet, slamming the heavy door behind you, quickly jogging around the corner, hands grazing the brick wall as you peer around it. jj’s on the ground, panting heavily as the blonde mop hangs over his head, shards of dark glass shattered all over the floor around them.
jj’s eyes flicker to her for a second, quickly correcting himself to watch rafe’s figure carefully. “i mean- like, shit!” rafe yells out, hands moving rapidly as you sense his anger picking up, you have to move now.
you creep out from behind the wall, preparing yourself for whatever was about to happen. “rafe, get your fuckin’ hands off him!” you yell, voice stern and steady as you pace towards him quickly. rafe doesn’t look back, but he knows the only person it could be.
“looks like your girl’s here to save you, damn, pogue.” rafe mutters, stupid smirk still on his face as he begins to turn around, but you’ve already beaten him. your first colliding straight with this nose, teeth bared and knuckles strong as he stumbles back.
“oh, fuck!” he groans, hands coming up to cup his face protectively, giving you a perfect opportunity to land a knee to his balls, “fuck you!” you spit, leaving him flat on the floor, rolling and groaning in pain.
a grin graces your face as you realise what you’d down, eyes flicking to jj, but he’s wide eyed, cheeks flushed, holding his cap in his two hands, seemingly over his crotch. “what?” you pant lightly, reaching one hand up to swipe at your forehead. ignoring the sound of rafe stirring on the hard ground, muttering promises to get his revenge.
he always was a drama queen.
“oh- uh- nothin’.” he shrugs, reaching for your hand faster than you can blink and taking off around the corner with you, rafe’s shouts of protest far behind you as you giggle, clambering into the old van and speeding off, the vehicle practically drifting around the corners with the speed as you laugh.
“i’ve never loved you more.” jj admits with a chuckle, the wind blowing though the open windows, making you feel even more alive than you already were. you laugh, he joins in and silently prays you’ll be able to say the same one day.

Worry Worry
Bucky called out for you just as you entered, "Baby?"
You closed the door behind you.
Bucky peaked out of the kitchen with a smile plastered on his face, "Heyyy,"
You meekly smiled at him, "Hi."
You heard a drop, before he appeared from the kitchen, wiping his hands on the apron, "Are you ok?"
You nodded.
Bucky wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you closer to him. Your hands wrap around his biceps, as you looked up to meet his careful eyes,
"Y/N,"
"Buck,"
He pressed his lips on your forehead, "You'll tell me if something is wrong, right?"
"Mhm,"
You leaned into his touch, just for a second.
You pulled back and walked away with your back towards him,
"I'm going to take a shower, do you need help with dinner?"
"No." Bucky continued, "Doll?"
You turned to him, "Yep?"
He looked at you, his eyes making you nervous.
"Buck?"
The intensity decreased this time, "Do you want me to get you ice-cream? We're out of it."
You smiled, "No, I'm okay, don't worry."
You basically ran out of the room before he could stare at you more.
You knew you were doing the right thing. Right?
Before you could analyze your choices more, you got out of the shower and gave yourself a pep talk.
You are NOT going to break. How hard is it to keep a secret from him? You're a strong, independent wom-
"Doll?"
Fuck
You walked out of the room, with the fakest smile plastered on your face. If anything, this whole thing proved that you have no future in acting.
"Damn, this looks good!"
You went through your usual convos way too quickly today. You tried engaging him with random stuff but you knew he wasn't buying any of it. After ten minutes, your eyes were glued to your plate and his were on you.
You looked up, "Food's really good."
"Yeah?"
You nodded.
You looked up again and looked back immediately down. It was starting to annoy you, why was he staring into your soul?
"Can you stop?"
Bucky kept his beer down, "Stop what?"
"Looking at me like that."
"Like what?"
You scoffed, "Like this," you did the best Bucky impression you could, but he wasn't impressed. He frowned, "I don't look like that."
"Well, next time go check yourself in the mirror when you do it, WHICH IS ALL THE TIME."
"What's wrong?"
The questioned angered you more. You didn't like that he was pushing you.
"Nothing."
"Doll,"
"I'm done."
You get up to clear your side of the table.
"Fine, don't tell me."
You turned to him, "Oh, is this annoying to you? When someone won't just say what's bothering them. I can't imagine how you must feel."
You hated it as soon as it came out of your mouth. Not that you showed it to him, you turned back to close the dishwasher and walked to your room.
You were fuming at him and yourself. Maybe you blew this way out of proportion.
After a weak try to get through your night routine, you plopped under your covers, hoping it would hide you from the mess you made.
You followed his every step outside though. Him cleaning up, his night checks before he heads to bed, his footsteps getting closer to the bedroom, him shuffling around the room before he settled in.
You laid there in silence, in the dark, for a while, confused about how to start, worrying if he was mad or hurt by what you said or the way you acted.
"I'm sorry."
Silence followed. You fucked up, BIG TIME.
Your eyes watered, but then he turned. He turned and hugged you. This was the last straw for you, you couldn't help but break in his arms. The stress of the day, the stress of hiding things from him and the guilt, it all hit you like thousand bricks.
You turned to face him and hugged him tightly. He held you through it. He let you cry into his chest as he ran his hand on your back, soothingly.
You sniffed, "I got your shirt all wet."
He laughed, "That's okay."
"I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have said that."
He kissed your forehead and wiped your tears, "I know you didn't mean it."
"I didn't. I don't mind waiting for you to open up."
"I know, I've seen it doll. You don't have to say anything."
"I'm sorry, I really love you and," your voice cracked, your eyes were watering up again.
He held you closer, "I love you too. It's ok, I promise, I'm not hurt."
You pulled away to turn on the lamp.
"I need to tell you something."
He sat straight, looking at you intently.
"So I went out to get lunch. You know the cute cafe that opened nearby?"
"Yeah?"
"That one. Did you know they have another branch at-"
"Doll,"
"Right, so when I was walking I felt like someone was following me."
Bucky immediately tensed up, his eyes widened,
"Buck, I'm fine. I'm here."
You hold his arm, trying to calm him down, but it didn't help.
"What happened Y/N?" He asked sternly, his voice no longer understanding or calming.
"I walked a little more to see if it was in my head. Turns out, it wasn't." You paused, knowing the next part was going to make it even more worse, "I- I tried calling you but,"
"Fuck." Bucky said under his breath. He pulled back, "Fuck, I didn't pick up your call because of the meeting."
"Bucky, I'm fine."
"Something could have happened to you and I didn't pick up when you needed me."
"Buck," you moved closer, but he wasn't having any of it, "What did you do?"
"I called Sam. He told me to wait for him at a restaurant nearby. He was on the call the whole time. He came, we spoke about what happened and he said he was going to look into it. He left me back to the office and even came back to drop me home."
Bucky was ticked off, you saw it on his face, his jaws clenched and his voice heavy, "I saw him before I got out, why didn't he tell me?"
You remained silent.
"Why didn't he tell me Y/N?"
"I told him not to."
Bucky stood up, but you reached out for his hand, "Buck, I wanted to tell you. I knew it would freak you out and make you spiral out of control. I wanted to be the one to break the news to you. It's not a big deal, I-"
"You getting followed is a big deal Y/N. The biggest fucking deal." He said each word slowly and clearly.
He paced around the room, muttering under his breathe.
"I'll stay home and work. I won't go out alone. We'll be fine."
"No, we need to move. We're staying at the headquarters for a bit, till I figure this out. We need to get new numbers-"
"Change my face too while we're at it?"
Bucky's look immediately shut you up.
"Why didn't you tell me immediately? Why did you try to hide it?"
You pointed at him, "This. I knew you would worry and I don't know, I just didn't how to say this without you worrying."
You looked down, cursing whoever followed you for ruining the peace you had going on.
The bed dipped beside you, "Y/N?"
You looked at him. He no longer looked angry. He looked worried, nervous, "Are you ok?"
You nodded, "Yeah, I'm fine Buck. I promise."
"I'm sorry for not being there for you. I should've been there."
"You didn't know. You think I don't know that the minute I mention I need you, you won't be there in a heart beat? I know that Buck, I know you'll be there for me."
"I'm always going to worry about you. You're my, my everything, Y/N. My job is to protect you, everything else comes after."
"Technically, your job is to protect the world."
Bucky's eyes softens, "You're my world,"
You pulled him into a hug, a tight one, "Cheesy, but fine."
Bucky chuckles.
You look at him, "Are you mad?"
"Not at you."
"At Sam?"
"Not for you to worry about."
"Buck, I told-"
Bucky's lips brushed yours softly. You sighed into him, your hands sliding up his chest to wrap around his neck. The kiss deepened, each exploring the other with a mix of urgency and tenderness.
He slowly pulled back to rest his forehead against yours, "We'll figure this out together."

Bucky woke the next morning in a tangle of sheets and Major. He had to pee, but he didn’t want to get up. God, he never wanted to get up. If he could stay wrapped up with her like this, for the rest of his life, he thought, he would die happy. The very idea struck him like a brick– he’d given a lot of thought to his own death over the years, but never, not once, did he ever consider the possibility that he might actually die happy until this very moment.
If she was in his life when he went, he realized, he very well could.
Major shifted in her sleep and snuggled further into Bucky’s chest with a contented sigh, and he felt his heart swell. If he wasn’t careful, at the rate his feelings were going, he was at risk of proposing to her before lunch.
After about fifteen more minutes of blissfully watching Major sleep in his arms, Bucky couldn’t hold off his bladder any longer. Gently extricating himself from Major’s embrace so as not to disturb her, he pressed a quick kiss to her forehead before heading to the bathroom.
After he’d finished and washed his hands, he made his way back toward Major’s bed. As he passed by the string of clothes he’d discarded the night before, he heard a buzzing coming from his pants. He reached down and pulled his phone from his pocket, checking the caller ID.
Lily. Again.
Bucky sighed and took himself back to the bathroom, quietly closing the door behind him as he accepted the call.
“Hey, Lil, what’s up?” he asked, sitting down on the edge of Major’s whirlpool tub.
“Hey, Jamie,” she said, and Bucky could immediately tell something was wrong. She sounded… off, distressed. “Listen,” she continued, “I know you and Sam probably had a late night last night, and I hate bothering you…”
“What’s wrong, Lil?” Bucky asked, growing concerned now.
“Well, I drove out to Langston Park to run the trails,” Lily began, “and I don’t know if I ran over a nail or had a slow leak, or what, but when I got back to the car, my tire was flat. I was kind of hoping you could meet me up here and help me change it?”
Bucky ran a hand over his stubble. “Shit,” he said. “You know I would in a heartbeat, Lil, but–”
“No, yeah,” Lily interrupted him. “It’s fine, don’t worry. I’m sure someone will drive by and I can flag them down for help–”
“Lily Anne McIntyre, you are not going to wave down a stranger and just hope that they’re not a murderer or a rapist,” Bucky said into the phone, a little louder than he intended. “Listen, I’m on my way, but I’m in the city, so it’s going to take me a little while, okay? Just… just stay in your car with the doors locked until I get there.”
“Oh my gosh, thank you so much, Jamie!” Lily’s voice was full of relief. “You’re my hero! I owe you, big time!”
Bucky cracked a smile. “Yeah, yeah,” he said. “Give me about forty-five minutes to get to you, okay? And remember, lock. your. doors.”
“I promise,” Lily agreed before ending the call.
Bucky stood up from the edge of the tub and went back into the bedroom and quietly put his clothes back on. Sitting down at the edge of Major’s side of the bed, he leaned down and began pressing kisses to her shoulder and collarbone until she stirred and started to stretch.
With a lazy moan that sent the blood straight to Bucky’s dick, Major sleepily blinked her eyes open. “Why are you wearing so many clothes?” she asked him, her voice seductively husky with sleep. “Come back to bed.”
Bucky wanted to. Oh god, he really, really wanted to. “I’m so sorry, sugar,” he told her, leaning down to give her a proper kiss.
“Bucky,” she laughed, pulling back from him, “I just woke up; I’m sure I have horrible morning breath.”
“Like I would ever care.” He cupped her face in his hands and brought his lips to hers, gently running his tongue along her lips so she opened her mouth to him.
After a long moment, they broke apart, and Bucky rested his forehead against hers. “I don’t want to leave you,” he said softly. “But I’ve got to go.”
Major nuzzled her cheek against his. “So, don’t,” she murmured. “Stay.”
Bucky sighed. “I can’t. Lily’s got a flat tire; she’s waiting on me to come help her change it.”
Major let out a puff of air through her lips. “Well, give me five minutes to get dressed and I can come with you,” she offered hopefully.
“I’d love that, doll,” Bucky said, frowning, “but Lily’s still pissed off about the bar and…” he ran a hand behind his neck, suddenly realizing how stupid this was going to sound, “I haven’t told her I’ve been seeing you.”
The change that came over Major was nearly imperceptible, but Bucky clocked it, all the same. Her eyes narrowed, her shoulders tensed and she pulled back from him by a hair.
“So,” Major began slowly, “where did she think you were last night when she called you, then? You said you’d already told her what you were up to. If she didn’t know you were with me, what did she think you were doing?”
“I told her I was having a guys’ night out in the city with Sam,” Bucky admitted, hating himself now for even deeming the lie necessary in the first place.
“I see.” The words were clipped, Major’s voice void of any emotion, and Bucky knew he’d fucked up. Immensely. “Well, you better get going, then, if Lily’s waiting on you.”
“Major.” Bucky put a hand on her arm, but she got up out of the bed, dragging the topsheet with her to wrap around herself and keep her body covered from him, as if now, suddenly, after everything they’d already done together, she no longer wanted him to see her naked. “Can we just–”
“You should go, Bucky,” she said again, not meeting his eye, and Bucky felt like absolute shit.
“Can I call you later?” he asked, and he heard the note of desperation in his own voice, but Major just shrugged a shoulder. He tried to lean in to her to give her a kiss goodbye, but she stood there, still as a statue, so he simply pressed his lips to her forehead and sighed before showing himself to the door.
He’d fucked up. He’d fucked up, and he’d blown it. She’d probably never want to see him again, and honestly, could he blame her? He’d lied about being with her, like she was some kind of dirty secret. Sam had been right, though Bucky would never admit it to him. Why was he letting Lily’s opinion dictate how he lived his life?

“It’s just… not my type of scene, that’s all,”
“Your brother’s engagement party is not your type of scene?”
“Is that really surprising?”
“I guess not,”
The conversation fizzled out, as if it had any fighting chance anyway. Regulus kept staring at tiny details to keep himself steady. The lines in the brick wall in front of him. The way the wind blew away his cigarette smoke.
It’d been too overwhelming inside, filled to the brim with people he hadn’t seen in years. Hungry eyes filled with questions and inquisitions. The shimmering hue that came over everything. Like he’d wound up in an overexposed photo, flaring white and red and orange all over the dance floor.
“Look,” James started back up again. He didn’t even have the excuse of smoking to keep talking to him, “I know things have been - awkward between you and well, everyone, since uhm, uh, it all. And I don’t know if you’re here to reconnec-”
“I’m not here to make amends, James,”
That seemed to catch him off guard. Regulus wondered if James wasn’t used to him being this blunt. Ah, well. Too many things have changed for this not to change too.
He took a deep breath, “That’s fine. I just wanted to say, we all appreciate you being here,” he paused for a second. “Sirius. Even though he has odd ways of showing it, he’s glad you’re here. Remus, too, his whole ‘don’t ruin his day’ speech is just nervous jitters,” his hands were flailing along his words, like he was trying to mime them out.
Regulus looked down at the floor, fragments of silver confetti were taking the shape of real constellations over his shoes. Clever little bit of magic.
He didn’t know what to say to that. He didn’t blame them for how they acted. Sirius - initial anger followed by weird sentimentality. Remus, all confrontation and ragged edges. He knew what they all went through. He knew all the betrayal that had left them this fragile.
He wasn’t here to ‘reconnect’. If he was, he’d be doing a piss-poor job at it. Was that something he wanted? He didn’t even consider it. Reconnect, and what then?
“It’s just – did you really have to crash in at 10 am after three years of refusing contact?”
It wasn’t an unfair question. Still, it prodded at something in his chest. Something that pulsated and smouldered. He instantly felt the urge to seize up, and push away. It disturbed him how easy it was crawling back into his old skin. The viscera automatically reworking itself into the shape it had once been.
This, he told himself, this is why he left. This place dragged the worst out of him.
If James was expecting an answer, he didn’t show it, leaning back on the brick wall beside him. As if the question was a mere suggestion, something to consider. He’d think it patronizing if it were anyone else.
He looked over at him. White shirt crumpled, sleeves pushed up, tie dishevelled and wonky. The hazy sheen the evening held seemed to swell as he looked at James. As if the stars had fallen and framed his face in their wake.
It was still there, he slowly realized. The tug of want. He felt his hands ache. The incessant urge to touch and feel. He’d tried so badly to bury it. It was still there, sticking its ugly head out of the sand.
Stilltherestilltherestillthere.
An awkward blob of emotion and pheromones and terrible circumstances. He couldn’t look anymore.
“I-” he heard himself start, as if he had no control over his own tongue.
“I’m not supposed to be here. The letter with the portkey was on my dresser. And I couldn’t-“He took a deep sigh, eyes flickering across the floor, “I couldn’t bear to fail him today too,”
The words hung between them. James didn’t react, only nodding slightly. He got the impression he was being treated like a skittish animal. Maybe he was.
“I get that,”
He turned his head towards him, eyebrow raised. “No you don’t,”
“Okay, maybe I don’t,”
A smile tugged on Regulus’ lips. James hadn’t changed a bit. Ever the empathetic, even when it made zero sense.
“Hey, I got you to drop the frown!”
He instantly went back to frowning again. This promptly led to James laughing, in a way that sent Regulus careening years back.
“Thank Merlin I haven’t lost the ability to do that,” James went on.
Snapshots flickered through his head. Himself, a miserable little thing, observing from across hallways and classrooms and Quidditch fields. He wanted to hate him so badly, the boy who’d stolen his brother. He never stood a chance.
The end was there as well. That year was nothing but an open wound in his mind, a festering, rotting tunnel of memories he tip-toed around. But James was there. The only person who could get anything resembling a smile out of him. The stars above the astronomy tower, brighter and brighter as winter turned into summer. Prefect rounds and silly little bickering. They were the only things he’d allowed himself to revisit.
There were so many things left unsaid. So many things Regulus abandoned when he took the Mark. That last night – the one where he pushed James away flashed across his mind. He’d taken whatever fragile relationship they’d had, and he smashed it to the ground.
They hung between them, too.
“I, uhm. I think I owe you an apology,”
James looked at him. Wide dark eyes that he knew shone startling hazel under the sunlight. It was unfair, this effect he still had on him. Turning Regulus into something soft and fragile and vulnerable, even after all this time. He thought he’d left it all behind.
“Yeah?”
“The way I left things, it wasn’t right. I don’t want it stand between us,”
“I thought you weren’t here to make amends?” The wink that followed made Regulus’ heart perform a disgustingly loud percussion routine.
“Yeah well. Some things you just can’t avoid,”
“Ah. And I’m one of those things?”
Yes. All the miles I put between us were useless. Yes. I can’t help but want to crash into you.
“No. I just can’t go back and have another thing I fucked up haunting me,”
James was suddenly somber again, as if he just remembered the grim details of everything that went down.
“Alright, that’s fair. Well, no need to apologize, after all that you did,”
This was wrong. Something was off. He was lying, all this faux calamity was for show.
He didn’t care how long it’d been since he last saw him, James had never not demanded more. More explanation. More words and whys and hows. It was one of the reasons he’d left things so untouched in his sixth year. James Potter would’ve tore down his defenses one by one, till he had none left.
He narrowed his eyes at him. It'd gotten cold outside, or maybe the alcohol warming him had dissipated. The noise from the party inside winding down. The cigarette butts littering the coarse ground.
It was tremendously uncomfortable, yet James had stayed for about twenty minutes, while Regulus smoked, talked and…for what?
“What is this really about, James? Why are you out here?”
“I- you just looked so upset and-“
“Plenty of depressed people at a wedding,”
“Engagement,” James corrected
“Whatever, same difference,”
“It very much is not when I’m the one who planned it all,”
“You planned all of this?”
“Uh, yeah. Why did you think I froze when you showed up? Estranged younger siblings really do throw a wrench into whatever party you have planned, y’know,”
He did not think about why James froze up, because he was too busy staring at Sirius, who looked like he could kill him, “I could imagine,”
The thought of James frantically planning an engagement party was a bit absurd, like something from those muggle comedies his roommates liked to watch. Despite the mood he’d developed, the urge to laugh filled his chest. The mental image of James, his hair more of a bird’s nest than usual, turning red over the wrong type of flowers or cake was incredible.
He supposed it did make sense, James was so close to both Sirius and Remus. Of course, he’d know exactly what they’d want.
That explained all the off-beat magic and tidbits of mischief he’d seen today. Those confetti constellation charms. Whatever the dance floor had that pushed people together. The ribbon streamers flying in between dull conversations, asking people questions. The empty glasses you could mutter whatever you wanted into. It was all so well-crafted. It made him ache.
He wasn’t supposed to be here. He was a ghost floating through.
“Uh, speaking of the wedding. I’m planning that, too. Obviously. As if they could hire someone better than me. But, uh, uhm.” He took a deep breath, like he was readying himself to jump off a cliff, “I kind of told them you’d stay till the wedding,”
At first, he thought he’d misheard. “You-what?”
“Told them you’d stay till the wedding?” He hesitantly said, “Sirius was such a mess, he couldn’t deal with the fact that you were leaving afterwards and I just- I panicked,”
He stayed quiet for a second, his mind slowly processing what he’d heard. When he did, he got the sudden urge to cry.
“I just- no. That’s-“Regulus found himself fumbling. He’d left this. He’d left this all behind, he couldn’t do this again. “No. No, I’m not coming back,”
“But-“
Sadness burned into anger, a whiplash of emotions that suddenly grounded him, he moved forward off the wall and fully faced James.
“You want to know why I left, James? This is why I left!” Regulus spat out, the harsh words contrasting with all the goddamned harmony everyone was in. All the joy and exuberant youth they were bathed in. He could choke on it. “You don’t get to decide what I do, not you, not the Order, not my family, not any megalomaniac with a death-wish, okay? No one, no one but me!” The rasp in his throat caught him off guard. This – he couldn’t not have control, not after all he’d been through.
“What about the people you left behind?”
He found himself inching closer, staring into James’ eyes. “I do not owe anyone a fucking thing, Potter.”
“No.” James’ voice hardened. There. Regulus thought with sick satisfaction, there was the anger he’d so badly craved. James looked beautiful, face twisted with contempt. The anger Regulus deserved. “No. You don’t get to say that. Not after, not after what you did. Everyone was - I was fucked up for months after you left!” He paused.
“No idea of where you were or what you were doing. And then months go by - and you’ve turned sides but still refused to talk to any of us. How dare you?”
They both stopped after that, chests rising and falling with labored breath. Grey met brown. James swallowed, Regulus’ eyes flickered down to the movement.
And that’s all it took.
It wasn’t gentle, the way the crashed into each other – how could it be? All sharp angles, teeth, and digging nails. Things said and unsaid fell to the wayside. James’ hands grabbed his temples and dragged him inward. His own hand pushed at James’ tie, twisting it around his wrist and pulling in.
It was the farthest thing away from the chaste little touches they’d shared, a lifetime ago, fumbling through newfound confusion and attraction.
This was frustration and despair and regret poured into one. James tilted his head, beckoning Regulus closer. His hands let go of the tie, slamming him into the wall. The groan the came from James’ mouth lit something inside himself aflame. All he could do was push himself further. Closer, closer, closer.
James pushed himself off. Gasping for air. Regulus’ skin burned with all the lost warmth.
His face was vehement in the dull yellow light. Glasses pushed off, lost somewhere in their collision. His lips a violent red – slightly parted. Hair pulled into tufts, sticking out. All the anger that reverberated between them had cooled down into something feverish and restrained.
None of it mattered – the regrets and who’d left and who’d stayed. Not during a war. They were both wrong for bringing this up.
They fell into silence, shaky breaths, and piercing stares. Regulus felt his skin prickle with anxiety. His mind out of sync with his heart, he didn’t know what to think.
“I just needed to do that – at least once, if you meant it – leaving,” James muttered, words coming out in desperate breaths, eyes tracing his face.
“James, I can’t be here. Not like how you want. It hurts too much,” his voice came out pleading, a hoarse little thing.
James’ hand reached out, tucking Regulus’ hair behind his ear, the gentle touch a vivid contrast to all the desperate touches that preceded it. The urge to cry came back up again.
“That’s- it’s fine. I’m – I’m sorry I said what I did. I think I said it for my sake as much as it was for Sirius’, I thought about you – this, so many times. Even before you left, I didn’t care, I would’ve still been there,” his voice twisted with guilt at that last part, like he was confessing to a heinous crime. In Regulus’ eyes, he might as well have. He wasn’t proud of what he did – those last few months of war, hearing James say this sent a thrill of fear through his heart.
He would’ve destroyed him. He would’ve wrecked him to pieces.
He didn’t want to think about that anymore. It threatened to throw him off-balance. He looked over at James.
“I – I still want,” Regulus swallowed the rising sense of panic in his chest, he cleared his throat “I still want to be here. I just, I can’t be thrown in full throttle like today. You can’t expect me to just fold to whatever you want. But I still want to be here – when these things happen,” it was true, but he only realized it as he said it.
He still wanted the contact. The string to his past. He just couldn’t handle too much of it.
James laughed, a bright little noise that caught him off guard, “So like. Holidays and weddings? God, Regulus you are so – is that what we just had a full on screaming match about? You want to be a normal person living abroad and visit family on special occasions? I thought you wanted to disappear off the face of the earth and never be seen again,”
Regulus’ face burned with embarrassment – James was right, Regulus had blown up over the mere suggestion that someone would be in control of his life again. His therapist was going to have a field day with that one.
“You were the one that said I’d stay till the wedding,”
“Yeah, which is in twenty days?”
“Oh,” Regulus hadn’t thought about that. He should’ve realized – even after the war ended, people weren’t really keen on delaying weddings.
“Yeah, oh. What – you thought I’d keep you here for a year or something?”
Yes, that’s exactly what he thought. “No.”
James laughed again. Regulus wanted to memorize every second of it.
“Y’know it wasn’t really just a screaming match,” Regulus found himself muttering. They were still both so close. Face to face. The air had stilled around them.
“No it wasn’t,” James’ voice dropped low, his eyes finding Regulus’.
When they leaned in again, it felt inevitable.
Warmth filtered across his skin. James’ fingers gripped onto his hair, strong and unrelenting. His weight against Regulus’ own a welcome comfort. He could get lost in this. He could spend all his days here.
James broke away, yet again. Regulus felt like the rug was pulled out from under him.
“Listen, could we… talk about what we’re doing here?”
“I – what do you mean?” he felt dazed from the lost contact.
“This,” James gestured to the space between them.
“Um, I mean,” Regulus cleared his throat. “We can figure out a portkey system? I can’t give you any promises, I just. I’m barely holding on most days, but I can – for this, I mean, unless you just want something casual, which is fine. I guess. I shouldn’t have assumed. Yeah, that’d be-”
“Reg, you idiot,”
Oh. He should’ve realized, was this just a one off thing? Had he completely misread the situation?
“Has anything about us ever been casual?”
“No. I guess not.” He found himself laughing, none of it was particularly funny, it was just – relief. Weird, the difference a few hours could make in someone’s life.
James started laughing too. Seemingly, only because Regulus was. He linked their hands together.
“And Regulus?”
“Yeah?”
“Next time we have an argument, we really should do more than angrily make out about it,”
“Are you sure?”
“Well, maybe once in a while,”

Summary: Reader's having a depressive episode and needs some comfort from her mate
Content Warnings: Depression
Author's Note: I should be finishing my Vamp!Rhys fic but I got sad and wrote this instead
------------------------------------------------------
Velaris is beautiful at night, from the glittering stars overhead, to the soft gurgle of the Sidra rushing over time worn stones beneath the city’s many intricate bridges. The music makes the whole city feel full of light and laughter, couples often dancing and humming in the streets. It’s one of your favorite places to be.
Usually.
Tonight it’s just… there. Though you stand in the heart of it, everything moves around you, never quite touching you. It’s as if you’re suddenly a stranger in the place you love the most, the emotional distance between you palpable.
You jam your hands in your pockets and keep walking, though you’re not really sure where you’re going, your body moving on autopilot. It’s been like that for a couple weeks now, if you’re honest, you’ll be half way through the day sometimes before you realize you’re not sure how or when you even got out of bed, or gotten dressed. Did you even eat? Kiss your mate good morning? Rhys has been working long hours in Illyria lately, most nights you’re already asleep before he’s even tumbling into bed, but, now that you’re thinking about it, that could also be because you’ve been going to sleep earlier too.
You frown at your boots as you walk, trying to remember when this happened. It’s not new, you’ve had bouts of this since you were a teenager, but they’ve been better thanks to regular sessions with Madja and some other healers. Art therapy in the Rainbow has helped too. Usually you can tell when you’re starting to slip into the darker places in your head, but it crept up on you this time.
By the time your mindless wanderings bring you back to the Townhouse, the light from your upstairs bedroom is already on, meaning Rhys somehow finished his business and beat you home. You’d only planned to grab some takeout so you wouldn’t have to cook, and yet, here you stand, hands as empty as your stomach.
The door opens before you can even reach for your key, soft light spilling out into the entryway. “There you are!” Rhys says by way of greeting, as if he’d been waiting by the door for you. Your mate leans in to place a quick peck on your lips as he guides you inside.
“Did you go to Rita’s with Mor?”
He should be able to tell you hadn’t, since you’re wearing the same sweatpants you had been for a week, but then again, he also hasn’t been home enough to know you haven’t changed out of them.
“No I…” you hate talking about this stuff, hate feeling like you’re burdening anybody with the weight you feel pressing down on your chest. “Uh, went to get dinner.”
Rhys stares down at your empty hands, eyebrows raised teasingly. “Did you forget to bring it back?”
You run a hand over your eyes. Cauldron they’re so heavy! Why is everything always so heavy? Your whole body feels like it’s made of bricks, just the effort to kick off your boots feels like it takes every single drop of energy you have left. “Sorry.” Even speaking feels like too much.
Rhys frowns, “Darling, are you ok?”
“Just tired,” you say, avoiding his eyes now.
He steps forward, placing a knuckle under your chin and tilting your face towards him. “What’s wrong?”
“I’m tired,” you repeat, but your eyes are watering now.
He stills, violet eyes roaming over you, assessing for the first time tonight how you look, the dark circles under your eyes. He knows you haven’t had trouble sleeping, he’s barely been able to wake you when he comes home at night. “It’s getting bad again, isn’t it?”
“I’m sorry,” you whisper, tears falling in earnest now.
Rhys’s features soften as he lifts you into his arms, the bond flooding with warmth and understanding as he says, “It’s not your fault. You can’t help it.”
You rest your head on his shoulder as he carries you upstairs. “I thought I was doing better… but everything just feels heavy again.”
He kisses your forehead gently as he climbs into bed and settles you down against his chest. Twisting, his wings unfurl so he can curl one around you, cocooning you in the warmth of his body. “What can I do to help?”
You wrap an arm around his waist as you settle your face against his chest, his heartbeat steady and even beneath you. Madja had said once that this was helpful if you got overly anxious, the steadiness of his breathing helping yours level out, and it helps now too, gives you something to focus on. It’s grounding and you let your breathing sync up, your chest rising and falling against his own. Madja hadn’t been able to stress enough how important it was to find something to ground you in the present when you got like this, lest your thoughts start to spiral deeper and deeper into the dark.
“Just need you to hold me for a little while,” you say.
Rhys pulls your favorite blanket up over the two of you before wrapping an arm around your waist. “I love you,” and the bond floods with more warmth than you think you deserve, but it doesn’t let up when those thoughts sneak in. “I’ll do anything you need me to.”
You place a gentle kiss to his chest. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be,” he replies, fingers tracing shapes in your back. “No one has all good days.”
“But nothing even happened,” you protest. “I just woke up one morning and it was just so heavy to be awake.”
He kisses your temple. “We can see Madja in the morning, if you need, but you can’t beat yourself up. You have no control over it.”
You press your temple into his chest and breath in the jasmine and citrus scent of him. “I hate it.”
He places another kiss to the top of your head. You know he hates it too, hates that it’s a battle he can’t fight for you, no matter how much he wants to. “It will pass.”
Rhys is warm, his presence soothing, the darkness that seeps from his skin on the days he hasn’t had the time to expel enough of it, drifting over your body in soothing motions. This is safe and quite and peaceful. Your body starts to settle more and more as time goes on.
“Do you really believe that?” You whisper. “That it’ll pass?”
“Yes,” he says. “It has before, and it will again.” Knowing he’s had the experience himself, you’re inclined to believe he’s right.
“I’m glad you’re with me,” you admit.
Rhys holds you a little tighter, “Till all the stars fall from the sky, my love.” He holds you all night, whispering all the things he loves about you as you start to fall asleep.
You let yourself fall into it, hoping tomorrow will be better.

More Important (Greg House x reader x James Wilson)
Summary: you not feeling well is far more important than work in your boyfriends' eyes
Tumblr media
Warnings: the reader is sick/doesn't feel good but it isn't specified the reason why so it's pretty much up for interpretation, House and Wilson are both loving and worried boyfriends, kind of hurt/comfort given the themes, brief and mild swearing, they/them pronouns are used to refer to the reader one (1) time in a gender neutral manner
A/N: I felt awful when I woke up the other day and when I went back to sleep I had a dream with House and Wilson that ended up inspiring this fic
Tumblr media
When you woke up that morning, every muscle in your body ached as if someone had dropped a sack of bricks on you while you slept. As much as you wanted to just stay in bed, you unfortunately had to get up to use the bathroom.
House was still asleep next to you, letting out the occasional peaceful snore despite the time indicating he'd be late for work if he didn't wake up soon. Not that he cared.
Wilson was already up and ready, from what you could tell. That assumption was later confirmed when you stumbled to the bathroom, the sight before you making it seem as though your boyfriend was being serenaded by the sound of the blow dryer as he fixed his hair.
"Are you almost done? I need the bathroom," you mumbled groggily, leaning up against the side of the doorframe while you waited for him to finish.
"Well, good morning to you, too," He responded in a voice that was far too chipper for your taste given how early it was. "And yeah, almost." He shut off the blow dryer and turned to face you, his big brown eyes studying you with a slight look of concern. Being a doctor, of course he could recognize when something was physically wrong.
"Are you okay?" He tentatively asked, trying to approach the subject in a delicate manner. After all the time he'd spent with House he knew not everyone wanted to talk about their feelings or even admit when something was wrong.
"Yeah, 'm fine. Jus' have a slight headache." Technically it wasn't a full lie, as your head did hurt, but you were greatly underexaggerating the pain level in hopes he wouldn't worry.
Big mistake. Almost as soon as you shut the bathroom door did Wilson turn and head towards the bedroom with the full intent of waking up your other boyfriend.
By the time you were done, both House and Wilson were standing close together, presumably discussing your supposed symptoms, even if you couldn't hear what they were saying.
"I know you guys are talking about me," you grumbled out the accusation while shuffling back over to the bed. Wilson looked a bit guilty to be talking about something involving you behind your back, but House just seemed amused you still had the energy required to dish out snark despite not feeling good.
"Whatever led you to that conclusion?" House asked rhetorically. "We very well could've been discussing what traffic will be like on the way in to work, or our favorite romantic movies." At that, Wilson rolled his eyes in annoyance. House ignored him, finishing with, "Not everything is about you, y'know."
"Don't play dumb with me," was the only thing you could manage to get out as a response given how tired you were. Collapsing onto the bed, you curled under the covers in hopes that maybe all you needed was a couple hours of extra sleep.
Too exhausted for your brain to work properly, you only picked up bits and pieces of their conversation. From what you could tell, they were trying to decide whether or not they should stay home from work to look after you, and if so who it should be out of the two of them.
"I'll stay here with them. Just tell Cuddy I can't come in today because of a medical emergency," House offered while glancing over at your blanket clad form. As much as he acted like he didn't care, he didn't enjoy seeing you in pain, even if it was over something small.
"Are you sure?" Wilson questioned, just to double check in case he wanted to change his mind.
House nodded his head to confirm, uttering "yeah, I'm sure" in an uncharacteristically soft voice.
You heard the sound of footsteps approaching, feeling as Wilson leaned down to press a kiss to your face, murmuring the words "I have to go to work, but I'll be back soon". You just nodded, too weak to say anything more than a quiet "love you".
After he left, House made his way back over to the bed, gently nudging what he assumed to be your leg with his cane. "Move over," he commanded in his usual gruff manner that led little room for argument.
Obliging, you shifted over on the bed, giving him the space to lay down in his normal spot. "Sorry."
He let out a sigh as he got on the bed, feeling a little bad he was so rude given just how pathetic you looked. "It's fine."
The two of you were quiet for a moment before you spoke up again, your voice sounding a little hoarse. "I'm sorry you got stuck here with me. I'm sure you'd rather be doing anything else other than this."
As much as he didn't want to admit it, hearing you say that hurt his heart a little. Then again, he couldn't necessarily blame you for thinking that. "Not true. Why would I want to be in a hospital full of sick people I don't even like when I could be with only one sick person I can at least tolerate?"
You let out a snort of laughter, fully recognizing the jest in his tone. He obviously cared, the grumpy bastard, even if he didn't show it very often.
He felt accomplished when he heard your laugh, continuing in a softer and more genuine tone. "Besides, some things are more important, anyway."
"Mhm." Humming softly in agreement, you moved closer to him on the bed until your head was resting against his shoulder, making sure to give him the space to get up and stretch his leg if he needed to later on. "I love you."
A faint smile formed on his face at your words, one of his arms reaching over to wrap around you protectively. "I know." It was his own way of showing his love for you without having to say the words.
Feeling comfortable and safe in his arms, you must've dozed off because the next thing you remembered was being woken up by the sound of a door opening and shutting.
"Could you be any louder?" House's irritated voice rang out through your ears, the sound not being entirely unpleasant even if it did manage to wake you up more.
"Sorry," you heard Wilson apologize in a hushed tone. There's no way it was evening already, which meant he must've gotten off work early.
"What are you doing back here?" You called out, your voice sounding tired yet curious. "You're supposed to still be at work."
"I couldn't stay knowing you were home sick," he responded as he slipped under the covers next to you, not even bothering to change into more comfortable clothes first.
"Oh, sure, just forget all about me," House complained in mock offense, something that Wilson chose to outrightly ignore.
"But the hospital- I mean, you're the head of oncology, you can't just-"
"Some things are more important," Wilson gently cut off your worries, his hand reaching out to rest on top of yours.
"Hm, that sounds familiar," you muttered while giving House a look that said 'I know you two have been talking about me again'. He looked back as if he had no clue what your deal was.
"Go back to sleep, honey. We'll both still be here when you wake back up." It was hard to ignore the command of the oncologist next to you, especially when he spoke in such a low and soothing way.
"Okay," you agreed without a fight, snuggling comfortably into the arms of your two boyfriends as you closed your eyes and allowed sleep to overtake you yet again, starting to feel a lot better already.

A lot has been said i think about how a lot of internet "innovations" like Uber and Airbnb are really just capitalism circumventing pre-existing labor laws, and like, yeah, but i think it also applies more broadly. Youtube is a lot like TV but with no guarantee of pay, no labor rights protections for people making the videos (especially for people working behind the scenes, like video editors and such), and no oversight (a lot of obvious misinformation and plagiarism slips by)
I think the same honestly goes for influencers. Like okay fine you can all hate them, but are they not just advertisers with very few protections? Think of when Dylan Mulvaney did a brand sponsorship with bud light. The MASSIVE media backlash against what was ostensibly just a random civilian trans woman. Did she get any protections from bud light? Did she get any reparations for the enormous amount of harassment and threats she got? Fuck no. Immediately after the backlash the company dropped her like a brick, because of course, any association with her was now media poison. Influencers let companies shift the blame for bad PR entirely onto a workforce of untrained underpaid advertisers.

Pervy Billy please 🤤🤤🤤
okay okay, here’s a teaser of my upcoming series stuck in the middle with you
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
billy hargrove x pamela oc!mayfield
cw: 18+ minors dni, perv!billy, stepcest, psuedocest, teasing, groping, dry humping and masturbation
🎀🤍🚬🍦
It’s like the little bitch does it on purpose. Those shorts can barely be classified as such, they’re practically just underwear and she’s prancing around the house like she’s trying to get a rise out of Billy. It’s making him pretty damn bricked up, just trying to enjoy his fucking bowl of Wheaties.
They’re alone. Neil and Susan shopping, like they do most Saturday mornings and Billy’s got no idea where Max is nor does he care. Pamela is doing her chores, pale blonde hair bouncing whenever she reaches down to grab miscellaneous clutter. Thanks to the motion, he also notices she’s not wearing a bra; breasts swaying under her thin cotton shirt. God, her legs are long, he thinks as he skates his eyes up and down them.
Billy’s aware he’s staring. Part of him thinks Pamela wants him to. He shovels another spoonful of cereal in his mouth before dropping the bowl in the sink for Pamela to clean. It’s her chore after all.
He’s got his own chores. Lists them off in his head; fix the leaky faucet in the bathroom, organize the garage, mow the lawn, wack all the weeds and take out the garbage. They can wait, he decides as he keeps his place in the kitchen and watches as his step sister continues on with her chores. Chews on his lip as she uses the scrunchie on her wrist to tie her hair up in a bun. She starts by cleaning off the counters, putting everything back in its place before she takes her place at the sink. A smirk spreads across his lips and he crowds behind her, places his hands on the counter to cage her in.
Pamela tilts her head, doesn’t look at him but exposes her neck like she’s expecting something. Billy takes these movements slow and calculated. He doesn’t want to scare her off, but then again, he’s sure Pamela is playing the same game he is. He laughs, soft as he towers over her. His breath fans over her neck and Pamela’s skin pricks with goosebumps as she wets the sponge. Squirts dish liquid on it before she finally speaks up, “Can I help you?”
Billy purses his lips, closes the gap between Pamela’s ass and his crotch as he tells her, “Just making sure you’re doing a good job is all.”
She snorts but continues cleaning the dishes and maybe Billy’s imagining it but he thinks he feels her push her ass back against him. So he grabs her waist, holds her steady and presses his lips against her exposed neck. It’s not a kiss. Just to feel her warm skin. Rolls his hips slow, testing before moving his hands to feel up her sides. Swooping forward and cupping her breasts in his palms.
He kneads them in his hands, shamelessly rolling his hips and Pamela elicits the prettiest little sound. A moan if Billy’s not mistaken and it makes him greedy. Slams his hips forward, grinding against her ass in those tiny shorts while he gropes at her tits. Pamela drops the silverware and sponge, gripping onto the edge of the counter as she pants.
“See what you’re doing to me?” Billy asks against her ear, rocking his hips forward again. Making sure she can feel the way his cocks hard in his basketball shorts. “Walking around in that shit… dressed like a fucking slut,” he pants, “Tryna get my attention, huh?”
“Billy,” she gasps, a whine of a thing.
He pulls her top up, just enough to expose her tits and gets his hands back on them. Pinches her nipples, rutting against her like the pathetic little perv he is.
“Billy.. we— ah, we can’t,” he babbles out, but she’s still grinding back against him.
“We can’t what?” he grunts out, nose bushing against her temple.
“Do this,” Pamela replies, hands moving to reach for his wrists. “It’s wrong.”
Billy knows it’s wrong. That’s part of why he can’t stop thinking about her like this.
But she’s right. This was probably far enough. He pulls away, looks down at her as she turns. Her pretty face all flushed. And he acts kind of like a child, stomping away to his room and slamming his door. Just to lean against it and shove his shorts down, get his cock out and wrap his hand around it.
“Fuck,” he whines, closing his eyes and imagines his step sister on her knees in front of him. “Oh, you slut,” he whispers, lips twisting up as he plays out this fantasy. Fucks his fist hard and fast, cumming with her name on his lips.

Need Some Help Darling Pt.3
Kwak Jiseok Summary: You found yourself in trouble and needed to call Jiseok. (non-idol au) WC:~1.6k Warning:none
part 1 part 2
Tumblr media
photo not mine credits to owner.
Ring! Ring! Ring! Your phone rang, it was a call from your dad. He told you that he would be working late tonight, so you figured he was probably calling to check in.
“Hello,” you said, answering the call.
“Your dad is drunk and needs to be picked up. Can you come get him?” An unfamiliar voice spoke. Drunk? He was supposed to be at work. Why would he lie about going out to drink?
“Uh…yeah I can come get him. Where is he at?” The guy on the other side of the phone told you the location.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When you arrived at the location you began to feel uneasy. It seemed like a really sketchy place. You thought about leaving, but your dad was supposed to be here, so you took a calming breath and kept walking. You arrived in front of a neon sign that read the name of the location. Despite your gut telling you not too, you entered the building.
“I was called to pick up my dad. He’s drunk,” you said upon entering the place. You didn’t walk too far inside the place, opting to stay close to the door.
“Ah yes, we’ve been expecting you. Your dad is resting in the back. You can go get him.” A guy behind the counter tells you, guesting to a curtain that leads to the back. You looked at the curtain with an untrusting look. The guy behind the counter chuckles. “Or I could go get him if you don’t want to go back there,” he says.
“Please,” you ask. The guy gives you a nod then makes his way to walk through the curtain.
“Come on get up. Your kid’s here to pick you up.” The guy's tone makes your stomach twist in knots. It sounded condescending. You found yourself pulling out your phone and opening up Jiseok’s contact. “Here he is.” The man returns with two other guys who are dragging your father out,  your stomach drops. Your dad is badly beaten. “Dad! What’s going on?” you asked, going to your dad’s side. Your dad tries to shove you away.
“Go, run,” he says weakly.
“They can run, but I don’t think they’ll make it far. This is your fault anyway. You signed the deal remember, if you fail to pay back your debts your child is collateral.” The guy smiles at you sinisterly.
“Dad, what did you do?” you question.
“Run, I’m sorry, but please go. Get out of here,” he tells you.
“Your dad had been partaking in illegal gambling. He’s not very good at it. Seems like it’s time to pay the consequences.” The man looks at you with foe sympathy.
“Run,” your dad repeats.
“Go on go. Listen to your father. I'll give you a head start.” The guy smirks at you. You take one last look at your dad and rush out of the building.
You’re quick to hit the call button on Jiseok’s contact. The ringing feels like it lasts forever as you round a corner looking for a place to hide. Then you hear the line pick up.
“Jiseok?” You say with a quivering voice.
“What is it darling?” Jiseok asked.
“I need help,” you sniffed.
“What happened? Where are you? Are you hurt?” Jiseok’s questions followed each other rapidly.
“I’m scared. Someone called asking me to pick my dad up-” you hiccup. “B-because he was drunk, but when I got there my dad was beaten up and they said I was collateral for him not paying his debts. Jiseok I really need you,” you say. You can hear rustling on the other side of the phone.
“Where are you darling?” he asked you.
“I’m hiding. I ran and now I’m in some alley way hiding between a brick wall and a dumpster,” you tell him.
“Send me your location. I’ll come get you darling. It’ll be ok,” he tried to calm you.
“I’m scared,” you repeated as you sent your current location to Jiseok.
“It’s ok darling. I’m coming right now. I’ll be there soon. Stay on the phone with me ok?” he tells you.
“Ok,” you say. You pulled your knees into your chest. You feel hyper aware of everything. The brickwall that’s poking into your back. The pebbles digging into your bottom. The cool metal of the dumpster pressing against your shoulder. You can hear footsteps getting closer. “Jiseok I can hear footsteps,” you panicked.
“I’m almost there, it's ok. I need you to be really quiet darling.” You nodded your head even though he couldn’t see it. You put your hand over your mouth and nose to muffle your labored breathing. The footsteps slowly started to fade away. Allowing you to relax a little.
“They're gone,” you informed.
“Good. I’m really close. Just stay where you are,” he told you. Jiseok will be here soon. Jiseok will be here soon. You kept repeating to yourself in an effort to calm down. Suddenly you heard footsteps again and they were getting closer.
“Jiseok’s someone’s coming.” Once again panic filled your veins. “Jiseok!” you repeated his name again when he didn’t answer.
“It’s me darling.” You lifted your head up to see Jiseok standing in front of you.
“That’s not funny. I told you I was scared!” you let out a cry. Jiseok crouches down and helps you stand up.
“I know. I’m sorry. You’re ok now darling, I got you.” You fell against him. Your tears soaking his shirt. Jiseok’s arms come around your waist, holding you tight. “Come on, let’s get you out of here.” He holds you close to his side as he guides you out of the alley way.
“Now what brings you to my part of town Jiseok?” You heard the sound of that guy's voice again. Jiseok tightens his grip around you.
“I’m picking my darling,” Jiseok speaks casually.
“Your darling? Hate to break it to you, but they belong to me now,” the guy states. Jiseok laughs.
“The only person they belong to is me. You want to collect them as collateral, but how do you think I got them? Their father failed to pay me back, so I took them,” Jiseok bluffed. “They already belonged to me when their father signed that contract with you, so hate to break it to you, they’re mine,” Jiseok mocked them.
“How about we share them then? We used to be partners. For old times sake?” the guy suggested.
Partner? Jiseok used to work with this guy? He worked or works in illegal gambling?
Jiseok scoffed, “You know I’m possessive over what’s mine. That’s why we went our separate ways isn’t it? Cause you were spending my money, taking my profit,” Jiseok glared at the guy. “I won’t let you anywhere near them.” Jiseok took a step in front of you, hiding you behind him. “You clearly have some business to figure out. I’m leaving with my darling now.” Jiseok wraps his other arm around you just for good measure as he continues to lead you to his car.
Once you two are at his car he opens the door for you and helps you in before running around to the other side to get in himself.
“Are you ok?” He turned to look at you.
“What about my dad?” you looked at him. Jiseok reached to take one of your hands.
“I’ll send some of my men to take care of it ok?” he told you.
“Thank you,” you say.
“You don’t need to thank me darling. As long as you’re ok. That’s what I care about,” he states. He starts the car and begins to drive.
“Can you take me back to your place?” you asked, stunning Jiseok.
“You don’t want to go home?” he asked.
“I do, but I also don’t want to see my dad just yet. I’m worried about him, but I’m also mad at him,” you explained.
“Well I’m not gonna complain about being with my darling,” he states happily. He turned to smile at you and you smiled back. “I was scared too,” he admits, squeezing your hand that he was still holding.
“You were, why?” you questioned.
“I was scared you would get hurt,” he said.
“Why do you care about me Jiseok?” you asked another question.
“Cause you’re my darling,” he answered simply. You laughed.
“But why am I your darling?”
“Cause I love you,” he confessed. Your hand went slack in his.
“Huh?” you let out. Jiseok laughs brightly.
“I love you. It’s a bit surprising right? I fell in love with you when you called me an asshole. I felt the need to protect you ever since I kidnapped you, ironically enough,” he chuckled.
“I always feel safe with you,” you revealed, squeezing his hand. Jiseok smiled.
“Good, cause you’re always safe with me.” He brought your hand up to his mouth and pressed a kiss to your delicate knuckles. It makes your heart flutter.
“You may be a bad guy to a lot of people, but you’re not one to me,” you tell him.
“What am I to you then?” he asked playfully.
“My asshole,” you joked.
“Hey!” Jiseok complained, making you laugh.
“Ok, ok, ironically enough you’re my hero. You always come when I’m in trouble,” you say.
“You're a knight in shining armor?”
“Mhm,” you nodded. “My knight in shining armor who makes me heart swoon,” you disclose.
“If I wasn’t driving right now, I’d kiss you,” he said. Succeeding in making your heart race.
“Then pull over,” you say feeling brave. You didn’t have to tell Jiseok twice as he wasted no time in pulling over to the side of the road. Before you knew it his lips were on yours.
Jiseok may be a bad guy, but he’s definitely not the bad guy of your story.
A/N: And with that this little series has come to an end. Writing villain xdianry heroes is so fun.
Golden Pt. 5 - Weasley Twins x Reader
Hi everyone! Thank you for all the support on the last few chapters. I have really enjoyed writing this fanfic, and I hope y'all like reading it. This is probably my favorite one yet. Enjoy!
Again, 18+, minors dni. Love you all. <3
Other parts: Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4
Tumblr media
George had decided that he would, in fact, be joining you in Hogsmeade. He wasted no time in getting ready, clearly not wanting to leave you alone with his twin for any longer. For someone who didn't care about you, he sure was fucking jealous.
Leaving the shop hit you with the truth of reality like a brick to the chest. Diagon Alley was desolate and destroyed, the shop one of the only businesses still in operation. You clung to Fred. "He's growing stronger, isn't he?" you asked, though even you knew it wasn't a question so much as a statement. Fred leaned down to kiss your temple. "I'm afraid so. But nothing will happen to you while you're with us." "With Fred, at least," George smirked, moving to the front of the charge. "I'm more of an every man for himself type of guy." Fred rolled his eyes. "Ignore him." He laced his fingers into yours and for a moment, your heart stopped beating. A coy smile took its place on your lips as you looked up to find a matching one on his.
"So what all do we need in Hogsmeade?" you finally asked as you walked to the edge of Diagon Alley. A group of wizards had set up an anti-apparition barrier within the streets of the town, hoping to increase its protection against Dark Magic. The borders were patrolled, which did a little to ease your anxiety.
"As much as I love seeing you in my clothes, I think it's time you get some of your own," Fred laughs, his words bringing a blush to your cheeks. "I have also decided to turn our office into a temporary bedroom for you, until you feel more comfortable in ours."
Your heart jumped again. Every so often, ,you would forget that these two were your soulmates, not just a new relationship. Eventually you would all share a bedroom, and a bed, and a life. Your future was as intertwined as your fingers. George finally looked back at the two of you, glancing for only a moment at your hands, then back ahead of him.
"We're at the edge," he said firmly. "I'll apparate us." He reached out one hand to his brother, then one to you. The same pulse of energy ran through you as you touched. You were completely wrapped around the finger of the two, and unsure if it was exciting or terrifying.
The village of Hogsmeade was still as beautiful as it had always been. Since it was an inhabited city of wizards, it was harder to vandalize unnoticed.
"I'll go get the bedroom furniture," George said, immediately dropping your hand. He was gone before anyone could protest. Fred barely noticed, taking a moment to pull you into him, kissing your forehead lightly. "Let's go get you some clothes, love."
Fred made sure you had clothes for every occasion, but your eyes always drifted to the dresses on the racks. He insisted that you needed every one you tried on, eyes raking your body with each new fabric. He even went so far as to outfit you with a slinky silk nightdress that he had adored. If it hadn't fallen slightly past your bum, he would've insisted you go home in it. Instead, he picked out a soft red sundress for you to wear the rest of the day. By the time you were finished, Fred's hands were full of bags, and George was waiting outside.
"Did the princess do some damage in there?" George asked with a smirk. Your own face dropped at his use of your nickname - the one he had only used as his hands had fucked you. "She wouldn't have needed so much if we hadn't basically kidnapped her," Fred laughed. "Where's all the shit you were supposed to get?" "Delivered and assembled," he smiled. "I go above and beyond, dear brother." Fred rolled his eyes. "Let me drop this off and we can grab dinner at the Three Broomsticks. Could you two get us a table without killing each other?" You smiled. "I think we can manage." You placed a kiss on Fred's cheek before he apparated away.
"How long are you going to wait to tell him that I've been inside of you?" You groaned. "I don't know, George. You'll be happy to know you've put me in quite the fucking predicament. So I'm sure you're bloody elated." "He can't be too mad, considering you're fucking him, too." All of the color drained from your face as you stopped in your tracks. You took a moment to regain your composure. "I am. He's my soulmate and he's fucking nice to me." You took a step closer to George. "I would do anything for him." George took a step closer to you, closing the distance between you, before leaning down to whisper in your ear. "I didn't even have to be nice to get you to open your legs." You spun to slap him, but he caught your hand, holding it tightly within his grasp. "No need for violence, princess. Unless that's what you like."
Upon arriving at the Three Broomsticks, the two of you took a booth at the back of the restaurant, George slipping in beside of you. "You really have to sit next to me?" you asked. "Unfortunately. The only thing worse than sitting next to you is sitting across from you and having to look into your eyes the whole evening. I'll leave Fred that torture." "Fred actually likes me, George. Even though you seem hellbent on stopping him from doing so." "It takes two to tango, sweetheart. You know as well as I do that you wanted last night to happen. Probably can't wait for it to happen again." "You're the one who came onto me. You wanted it as much as I did."
George shifted in his seat to look you straight in the eye. As he did, he snaked his hand under your dress and up the middle of your thighs, only stopping at your core. You squirmed from his touch, but his thumb found its way to your clit and his index to your already soaking entrance. He leaned in to your ear, using his free hand to push back your hair. "Like I said, seems like you can't wait for it to happen again." You pushed him off of you, face only reddening as he took his fingers into his mouth to clean them off. "Mm, sweet as honey, princess."
"What is?" Fred asked, sliding across from the two of you. "George what the hell did you do to her?" he added upon seeing your reddened face. "I didn't do anything, Freddie. The poor thing is just embarrassed she's never had Butterbeer." "Never?" Fred asked. You shook your head - a lie, but it would do. "Didn't think I'd like it."
Fred immediately jumped into action, ordering a round of Butterbeer to go with your meals. Hopefully you feigned surprise well when you tasted it for the 'first time'. Fred seemed to buy it, at least. George tried to ignore you the entire evening.
He was successful until you arrived home. "Let me show you your bedroom," he called, not checking to see if you were following before he started walking away. Your bedroom was on the first floor of the shop, nestled cozily in the back. Though the room wasn't very big, George had managed to fit a bed, dresser, and desk into the space. Fred had already spelled your clothes away, filling in the new dresser. "This is incredible. Thank -" you turned to thank George, but he was already gone. Your blood grew hot - he was not going to humiliate you and then ignore you for the rest of the evening. He was going to fucking pay.
At the very top of one of your drawers held the black silk dress. You quickly stripped into nothing but the nightdress, letting your hair fall loose on your shoulders to accompany it. It was beautiful, and you needed to thank Fred for getting it for you.
You didn't bother with a robe or slippers as you ascended the staircase to the twins' room. You knocked on the already opened doorframe, grabbing the attention of Fred first. "Holy shit," he murmured, taking in your body like he was seeing it for the first time. You entered their room, noting George's agape mouth as you moved. "I just wanted to thank you both for putting my room together. I'm the luckiest girl on the planet to have you," you said, smiling at Fred.
"I'm the lucky one," Fred murmured, fingers slipping up and down your frame. "You're so fucking beautiful." You kissed him tenderly, heart melting at his words. "I love you, Fred," you whispered, words leaving your mouth before you could stop them.
George pulled the two of you apart. "All right, get the fuck out of here and go to bed." "What the fuck, George?" Fred asked. "She's clearly drunk, Fred! She needs to go the fuck to bed." "No, I'm not!" you protested. "I had like two Butterbeers." "Apparently, you're a lightweight, then." You looked at Fred to back you up, but his face was downturned. "Your face is super flushed, love. Maybe you should get some rest." "I'll make sure she gets downstairs, then she's on her own. Tomorrow is a big day for all of us and I need a fucking shower." "Goodnight, love," Fred called. "Goodnight, Fred," you frowned. "I do love you." His expression didn't change.
As soon as you were in your room, George locked the door behind you and cast a silencing spell on the room. "I am not drunk, George. What the hell is wrong with you?" "What the hell is wrong with me? What the hell is wrong with you? You clearly came up there to try and seduce me. And then you tell Fred you fucking love him? He is not a tool to fucking abuse."
You threw a pillow at him, which he wordlessly deflected. "Not everything is about you!" you yell. "I do love him! More than anything," you voice quiets with each word. You draw in a shaky breath as you lower onto the bed.
George walks over to you, holding your chin in his hands. His eyes glare daggers into yours. "I don't believe you." Your gaze doesn't break. "I don't need you to." "I'll tell him. Everything." "And what is 'everything', exactly? That you fingered me? That you want to fuck me? That you need me as much as I need you?" His grip tightened, pulling you to your feet. "I do not need you. I don't even fucking want you."
In one swift motion, you reversed your spots, pushing George onto the bed. He stared up at you as you held your fingertips to his chest, holding him in place. "For someone who doesn't want me, you seem to spend a lot of time inside of me." He laughed. "Because you're fucking easy. It didn't even take a full day to get with you. It didn't take two before you were with both of us."
You pushed him back farther onto the bed, straddling him. "I think you're the easy one, Georgie. If I was so easy, I would've made you cum instead of your brother." "Fuck you," he snarls, grabbing a handful of your hair. "If you'd like," you retort, grinding your already wet cunt against him. He's clearly hard underneath of you, despite the layers of clothing separating him from you. "Fucking slut," he groans, wrapping an arm around your back to support your position. "I'll stop if you want me to," you repeat his own words back to him. "But I don't think you want me to."
"Fuck," he groaned. "I need you right fucking now." His nails dug through your slinky dress and into the skin underneath, pulling you as close to him as he could. "Thought you didn't want me, Georgie? Now you need me?" you mocked, slowing your hips to almost a stop. George brought his hands to your hips, moving you against him once more. Your core ignited, but you held your moans.
George did not hold his. His teeth sank into your neck, leaving bite marks and kisses from your hairline to your clavicle. When he bit into your earlobe, your first moan escaped your lips. "There you go, baby girl, let it out." His fingers moved from your waist to your cunt, tracing your entrance. "So wet for me already," he laughed. His lips returned to your ear. "Let me take care of you."
You slowed to a stop once more, taking in the labored breathing and flushed face of the man before you. "What happened to every man for himself?" You leaned into his neck, whispering in his ear. "I'm not letting someone fuck me who wouldn't protect me from a Death Eater."
His face grows hard as you stand from him. Before you can exit the room, he pulls you onto the bed, pinning your hands. On instinct, your legs kick at him with all your might, causing him to straddle you to restrain you. "You don't have to fuck me, princess. But, you will know that I would protect you with my last fucking breath. I would lay down my life to save yours. So you can go to Fred to satisfy your needs, but you will not go under the impression that I would ever betray you."
After a moment, he frees your hands, which immediately latch onto his shoulders and pull him into you. For the first time, your lips meet, starving for touch. George can't get close enough to you, holding you by the waist and hair, locking your body against his. You begin reaching for the seam of his jeans, but he grabs your wrists with one hand and holds them over your head, using the other to hold open your legs as he sinks into your pussy. A moan rips through you as he licks stripes up and down your core, taking particular interest in your clit. He moans as he devours you, eliciting another string of moans and curses from your lips.
You cry out when he pulls away, devastatingly close to orgasm. "You taste so good, baby girl, but I need to feel you cum on my cock. Do you want that?" You nod, but he shakes his head. "I need words, princess." "Yes, please." With a wave of his hand, the rest of his clothes were gone. Even though he had seen most of your body, you had seen none of his. You drank in the sight of him, memorizing every curve of his body like it was the last time you'd ever see it. He lined himself up at your entrance, the contact alone making you moan. "You ready?" he asks. "Please," you beg, your body aching for his.
He pushes in slow, a mixture of his moans and yours filling the room. "You feel so fucking good," he finally says once he's bottomed out. You smile up at him, too fucked to say any actual words. "So fucking beautiful with my cock in you, princess." He thrusts into you again, pulling moans from your mouth like a prayer. His pace quickens to a breakneck speed, bringing you right to the edge of orgasm once more. "I'm gonna-" you start, before a new wave of moans leave your lips as his thumb connects with your clit. "Cum, baby girl. Come for me."
Once again, his words send you over the edge, orgasm exploding through you like a bomb. Your moans turn into screams of his name as you ride out the orgasm. Your cunt spasms from the aftershock, drawing out George's orgasm, spilling himself into you. Without a word, he spells away his seed, leaving you empty of him. You groan at his absence, but he lays beside you and pulls you into his chest. You burrow deep into him, inhaling his scent. His fingers trail patterns on your back, leaving only goosebumps in their wake.
No one speaks for ages, and you were sure George was asleep before he whispers three words. "I love you."
Tears fill your eyes as guilt fills your heart. "I love you, too."
"Little Sick Bug"
Tumblr media
"Little Sick Bug"
Dilf!Jake Sully x female!navi!Omatikaya!reader
Warnings: I don't think there's any warnings other than just cuteness.
Summary: You haven't been feeling well the past few days because you felt you had a little sick bug, but some things aren't as they seem.
yawne - beloved yawntutsyìp - darling
spxin - sick za'u - come
prrnen - baby/infant
You let out a groan as you rubbed the sides of your temple, feeling like you ran into a brick wall. "Hey baby ready to go" Jake's voice rings out throughout the hut, making your head hurt even worse. "Yeah I'm ready" You mumbled and turned around to see Jake with a worried look in his eyes.
"Yawntutsyìp whats wrong? Are you feeling okay?" Jake questions as he rushed to your side, touching your face to see if you were running a temp. "Babe, I'm fine let's go" You tell him before feeling a wave of nausea hit you. "Oh God" You mumbled before rushing outside, throwing up your breakfast.
Jake follows you and holds your hair back, wincing as he couldn't do much while you were vomiting. Once you were done you wiped your mouth with the back of your hand and straightened up, turning around to face your mate. "Okay let's go" You said trying to play it off but in reality you were tired and grossed out.
"Za'u," was all Jake said as he grabbed your arm gently, walking over to the tsahik's hut. He opens the flap and lets you go in first. "Why are we here ma jake" You whispered but Jake was focused on one thing, finding out what's got you so sick.
Mo'at turns around and notices the worried look on Jake's face. "Jake what is it? Why do you seem worried?" Mo'at says as she walks over to you both. "Something is wrong with y/n. I was wondering if you could help us" Jake says and Mo'at nods her head before grabbing you by the shoulders and leading you to her table.
"How long have you been feeling this way?" She questions and you shrugged your shoulders "Not that long, maybe only a few days" You tell her honestly as you watch her grab her needle from around her neck. Gently, she sticks the needle in your arm, pulling it out and lifting it to her mouth.
Her eyes widen in shock as she looks at you with a smile. "She isn't spxin, she's with prrnen" She says excitedly and your mouth drops to the floor. "I'm with a baby?!" You ask her in disbelief and she nods her head before rushing over to her shelf. "Baby, this is great! You're pregnant" Jake says, tears in his eyes and you smile at him before wrapping your arms around him.
"How long am I along?" You ask Mo'at and she turns to you, looking down at your stomach. "Not that far along, maybe a couple of weeks" She replies as she grabs a few things from her shelf, putting them in a small satchel. "Your little sick bug turns out to be a prrnen" Jake says chuckling and you shake your head, still in disbelief.
First date
Tumblr media
Pairing: Kim Hongjoong (Ateez) x GN!Reader; Genre: established relationship, angst; Rating: sfw, NC-17; Warnings: mentions of thugs, mentions of bruises and cuts, hints of blood; Wordcount: 411
Summary: A typical date usually consisted of eating a dinner, going to the movies and potentially making out. But here you were, pressed against a wall after you left your date to deal with a group of thugs.
A/N: I love giving innocent prompts by @pirateeznet some dark twists.
Tumblr media
This wasn't the date you had in mind, when you said yes to Hongjoong's awkward question. You had pictured the worst thing would be Hongjoong being too embarrassed to form a whole sentence. Definitely not pressing yourself against the brick wall around the corner of the cinema.
Your heart hammered inside your rib cage and your blood rushed through your ears, making it nearly impossible to pick up any sounds around you. With a hand pressed over your mouth, fearing your breathing was simply too loud for your own good, you tried to calm yourself down as much as possible.
When Hongjoong and yourself walked into that alley as you two were headed for the park, he had stopped dead in his tracks. A handful of dark clothed people had blocked the way, some of them swinging something that seemed like bats.
Hongjoong had pushed you behind his back, squaring his shoulders and cocking his head to one side. "Run", he hissed - right before the first guy charged towards him.
You ran back to the cinema and hid around another corner. Now that the adrenaline slowly dissipated, the fear and worry hit you full force. Tears pricked at the corners of your eyes. Helplessness settled in your bones.
A high-pitched shriek escaped your lips when someone half ran and half stumbled around the corner. Hongjoong locked eyes with you, quickly closing the distance between the both of you. "Are you hurt?" He asked, his voice layered with concern.
You hiccuped softly and shook your head as your eyes took in his appearance. His hair was dishevelled, just like his clothes. He had a busted lip and a purple bruise formed on his jaw. Your eyes dropped down to his bloodied knuckles and the cuts in the fabric of his shirt.
Hongjoong sighed in relief and opened his arms. He immediately wrapped his arms around your trembling body when you lurched into the embrace - barely wincing from the impact. "I'm sorry you had to witness this", he whispered against your hair.
You pressed your face to the crook of his neck and laughed mirthlessly. "Not the typical first date, I admit." You leaned back to look at his face with a pained expression. "Let us skip the night stroll and go straight to my place. You need to get patched up."
Hongjoong chuckled but immediately winced from it. "So much for me being a gentleman and only bringing you to your door."
Something i really like about Merlin is how they didn’t make love a redemptive force. Uther loves both his children very much -- doesn’t make him a good man or even necessarily a good father. Merlin and Arthur love each other so much, but it doesn’t save either of them, nor does it always makes them better --  oftentimes, it makes them worse. It makes the love no less compelling or meaningful -- in my opinion, it only makes it more so, and it’s a more realistic approach to love. Thoughts and feelings!
my favourite thing about the always sunny podcast is listening to rcg all say something extremely neurodivergent and then agree amongst themselves and convince themselves its completely normal
#and to be clear im not diagnosing them charlie said he wasn't neurotypical#like deadass i think. the reason some of their writers just completely botch the gang's motivations/dialogue sometimes is bc at their core#these characters are all. SO autistic. which inevitably leads to them being misunderstood by others outside their group#whether rcg realizes it or not they inject this very specific vibe of neurodivergence into the gang#and its why they will just. argue over inconsequential details bc they Need to be understood completely#they can't just drop it unless they are crystal fucking clear#imo the biggest mistake other writers make is thinking that the gang is completely desensitized when its more like#they just don't react the way you would expect#which is often... adjacent to that but still distinct. and its trauma that influences this as well#the gang does not believe they themselves are 'bad people'. theyre most often oblivious to the fact that the things they do are insane#rob saying he doesnt pick up on social cues and then going on to argue in circles with glenn#i dont think last week was anything crazy but i think. rob doesn't know when to let up. which is a problem that *i* have#and while it comes across as being confrontational in an 'im right youre wrong' way i dont think its driven by ego here#just like with how as they said mac and dennis are making up while chucking bread rolls at each other#on both sides its frustration at being misunderstood#but they are all similar enough that even if they disagree over small details theyre usually on the same page. and this can be beneficial!!#thats the conclusion of the ep!!!! whether its suggesting smoking to cancel out the toxic apple skin or suggesting words u cant think of#glenn said he was upset about feeling misrepresented and picked on#dennis gets angry for those exact reasons in.... ALL of his big rage scenes#its frustration that leads to anger because youre speaking to (another) brick wall and you can't adequately explain yourself#which. glenn is clearly more competent than dennis & i think a lot of the time in sunny the gang is WAY more obtuse for the sake of comedy#but its interesting to watch the dynamic because as charlie said last week#they are mac and dennis (especially when theyre fighting)#i just think.. they are in a semi-unique position to understand this because this is how they are. while several other writers do not get i#ada speaks#untagged
