Summary: You were awful on anything related to flirting, guys and sex. He was the perfect ladies man. You wanted to get rid of your virginity. And he was there to help you with everything you needed. You didn't have the best start, but that didn't mean you wouldn't have the best of the endings.

Ever since that day, those words came from his mouth quite often. Whenever we parted ways -whether it was before going to sleep, when either of us left the other's house, or when he left me at home-, he always said it before kissing me, with that bright look in his eyes that has always made everything inside of me move.

And what have I been doing ever since? I smile and move my lips nervously, unable to say those words even if my brain knows damn well what I feel for him isn't only attraction. But is it love? The words get stuck in my throat whenever he mentions them. Almost like I'm trying to force myself to say them, but something keeps stopping me to do it.

I'm probably making this more complicated than it should be.

When I roll in my bed, I see the place where he usually sleeps empty. My eyes fix in the air, lowering later to that spot in my pillow where his head was resting yesterday.

He smiles at me, pinching my chin before he holds my thigh and drags my body as close to him as he's able to. I wrap my arms around his waist -hitting my knee with my elbow as I move first-, while his arms wrap around my shoulders.

I move my fingertips over his exposed spine, concentrating on his heart pumping against his chest. His lips lie on my forehead, giving me a tender kiss, as if he were preparing that spot for his cheek resting on it.

—I love you —I feel his mouth curve slightly.

I bite my lower lip nervously. Just like the other times, those words get stuck in my throat. And I can't really understand why. Is it because I've never really said it to anyone? He already said it, a few times actually.

I take a deep breath, but nothing. Jungkook chuckles silently in response, playing with my hair as he tries to comfort me.

—You don't have to say it —he whispers—. Take your time.

I sit on the bed. His words replay in my head constantly. "Take your time"... How much time though? Is there a limit before he gets tired of not hearing it back? I know it's been only a few days, but does it have a deadline?

I roll on the bed again, just to get my phone back and type "He said he loves me, but I didn't say it back" on Google. I see a lot of articles from therapists, and a lot of Q&A type of websites when I hit the search button. Clicking on one of those websites was probably the worst thing I did, and I learn that as soon as I start reading the comments.

Kat784784: I didn't say I loved him back, and now he won't talk to me.

Angellove: I had that experience, too. He dropped those words too early for me, and I didn't reply back. Weeks later he broke up with me because we were on different stages.

I leave my phone on the bed, the screen facing the mattress as if that would mean what I read would disappear from my head.

I really don't know what I was thinking when I searched something like that on Google.

My phone vibrates under my palm, and I don't need to look to know who's sending me a text at 4 am.

Asshole: I'm home

Along with his text, I see a picture of him lying on the couch while sending me a kiss. I'm not there, I haven't talked to him properly, but I know how drunk he probably is just by the way his eyes are slightly squinted and his cheeks are tinted with a delicate blush.

Me: Tell me you didn't drive

Asshole: I didnt. Tae called a cab

I sigh in relief, letting my body fall back on the mattress, still holding my phone. Jungkook doesn't even give me time to type something, he's already calling me.

—Cocktease, I'm rensponsinble. Wait... Responsible —he drags every letter, as he tries to get the word right.

—You're so wasted —I cackle.

—Could be —he agrees—. Remind me not to hang out with Jimin ever again —he mumbles—. He's an awful influence.

—Says the good boy that has done nothing wrong in his life —I tease.

—I've done a lot of wrong things to you, and you've loved every single one of them —he says fast with a seductive tone, although the way his words stumble over one another totally erase his attempt—. Were you waiting for me? It's too late.

—Yeah, but I couldn't sleep either. It's alright —I sigh.

—Go to sleep, babe —he says—. You need to get some rest.

—Fine —I whisper—. We'll talk tomorrow.

—Yup —I can imagine him nodding exaggeratedly—. Sarangee —I bite my lip, holding back the laugh of him being so drunk he isn't even pronouncing words from his native language properly.

The next day, Tammy shows up in the gallery with a proud smile on her face while she waits for me to be done with one of the possible customers.

—What are you doing here? —I look at her confused.

—We said we would have lunch together, remember?

—And what's up with that smile? —I look at her, analyzing her curved plumped lips.

—I can't smile now? —she asks, offended— I'm always smiling.

—Not that way —I place my hands on my hips—. What are you up to?

—I just came to pick you up —she shrugs again—. Mel and Soo will join us.

—That's great —I check the time, grabbing her wrist to take a look at her watch—. I'll go get my things.

When I cross the door to the office, I see Jin basically having his head covered in papers. He keeps placing his glasses properly, while his hands move from one sheet to another.

—Hey —he greets me, with his eyes peeking over the crystal of his glasses—, do you need something?

—No, I just wanted to get my bag —I hang the strap on my shoulder—. We're going to have lunch, wanna come?

—I don't know.

—Paperwork won't finish earlier if you starve here —I joke—. And Melanie will kill me if she knows I let you stay here.

Melanie is so overprotective of Jin, and probably it has to do with the fact that they both have practically grown up together -since their parents are close friends, by what she told me. World is indeed way too small

His lips curve funnily, before he presses them together and finally nods, putting all the papers aside and standing up from his place.

When we get there, both Melanie and Soo are already there. And although I love seeing them all here, I know we didn't meet just because. Tammy's smile keeps growing bigger, even if we haven't eaten yet.

—I can't hold it back any longer —she finally lets out.

—Thank fucking god —Melanie replies.

—I have something important to tell you —she closes her eyes, jumping in her place with excitement—. Remember that casting I did four days ago?

—The one for the musical? —I ask, trying to guess which one she's referring to.

—Yes! —she finger points at me, eyes widening when I get the correct answer.

—You were casted for the role you wanted? —Soo asks.

—No —she shakes her head, the smile still doesn't vanish away—. I got casted to be the villain's substitute —she almost screams—. I'll be a background dancer anyway.

Our table turns into a mess full of excitement and cheers, with three of us congratulating Tam, while Jin is still trying to figure out what has happened and why the hell he even agreed to have lunch with us. Even if she's just a substitute right now, it's more than what she's been getting so far. It's a step towards a good direction. So of course all of us are happy for her.

—Which means that I'll get free tickets for all of you —she sings—. You, too, Jin —she winks at the man sitting next to me.

—Count with me and Mark —Soo gives a sip to her beer.

—Could you get tickets for Steve and Carl? They love musicals —Melanie asks her, and moves her eyes to me—. And then it'll be the two of us, too.

—But Y/n, you won't go with...?

I don't let him finish. My left hand moves fast to his exposed arm, pinching his skin to make him keep his mouth shut. His eyebrows slightly furrow and his lips stretch on a thin line as he presses his jaw.

—With whom? —Melanie asks.

—No one —I rush to answer—. I'm going with Mel.

But Tammy doesn't buy that, actually, neither of them buy what I'm trying to say, because they all give me a suspicious look and move their eyes to Jin -who's still rubbing the sensitive spot.

—Who did you think she'd be going with? —Soo asks this time.

Jin looks at each one of them, before his eyes land on me. It's like he's looking for the right answer, and my eyes must be begging him to keep his mouth shut and not mention Jungkook because he laughs nervously.

—With me. I thought she'd invite me since I'm her boss —I laugh with him, trying to sweep away the tension—. She should play nice.

—Right —I play along—. No, no... I'm not that kind.

I drink water nervously, as if swallowing down the liquid would make all of this totally disappear.

—Are you two banging? —Tammy asks directly.

The question takes me by surprise, that I even forget how to drink properly. I choke on the liquid, and I feel it going up instead of going down, burning my nostrils.

—Of course not —Jin says, offended by the accusation.

—No —I cough, still feeling the water in the holes of my nose—. Tam, what...? No.

—Okay, but you're banging someone you didn't tell us about —she accuses me now—. And Jin knows.

—Wait, he knows and we don't? —Mel whines.

—If he knows, it's probably someone that's gone to the gallery —Soo thinks out loud—. Is it a customer?

—Why are we discussing this? —I shake my head and hands hysterically in the air—. You got casted in a musical —I point to Tammy—. Let's celebrate that!

I sigh in relief when all of them go back to cheering up for Tammy, not without reminding me this isn't over yet and I won't get away from her questions next time we all meet up.

I'm sure of that...

Jin reaches out to me when the gallery is completely in silence, and it's just the two of us hanging around.

—What happened before?

At first, I turn to him confused, unsure of what he means, but I don't take long to link things together and realize what he's asking. That little scene in the restaurant when he almost mentioned Jungkook.

—It's complicated —I simply answer—. They don't know that Jungkook and I are seeing each other, and we want to keep it that way for now.

—Can I ask why?

Why are we hiding still? It's so complicated. But it's all summed up to the idea that we aren't serious, even if he dropped the L word a few days ago -and has been mentioning it ever since. We're seeing where things are going between us. Telling everyone we're dating, when we're just starting to be exclusive, would be weird. Because it'll put us in a situation where we will try no matter what to make things work out, even if that means forcing everything. I guess we just want to go at our own pace. Be totally settled and have it all clear between us two, before sharing it with our group of friends.

—It isn't that serious yet.

—I'm sorry if I almost got you two in trouble.

—How could you know? —I shake my head—. It's totally fine. Don't worry about it.

Jin nods, looking at the drawing I'm standing in front of. Once everything is cleared, he congratulates me for my hard work and heads back to the office.

It's time to go back home. At first I think Jungkook would be coming to pick me up, but after waiting for thirty minutes -and after seeing he isn't even online-, I decide to go back home by myself.

Later at night, I lie on the couch, trying to keep my mind busy since I've had no news from Jungkook for the last three hours. It could be normal for others, but him not even saying good night before disappearing it's weird.

I stop sending him texts after the tenth one, and I don't make any more attempts to call him after the third time tonight. Could be he's fallen asleep. Or could be he's just started losing interest in me after thinking everything better.

I really need to go to sleep and give him time to answer whenever he feels like it. He will probably send a text in the morning, laughing at himself for falling asleep on the couch and waking up because he's fallen to the ground.
