Imagine having beast catsushi as your companion and by some way or another—be it a fuck up from the book or a collision of multiverses—you meet catsushi from the original timeline and adore how sweet and friendly and adorable his canon counterpart is and it makes beastsushi so fucking jealous ♥️. He would! Poor Beastsushi is so insecure the moment you guys meet Atsushi, he sees him as a better version of himself, something that he could have been. Someone that would deserve you more. Atsushi doesn't have problems with expressing affection or physical touch, he's so sweet and kind and snuggly all the time and Beastsushi gets jealous and hurt. He knows you're not leaving him of course, but that's rationally. And he's not very good at reasoning with the creeping dread in his chest. He probably acts out and hurts Atsushi, gets mean and defensive end withdraws into himself to prepare for the blow, he just wants you to get it over with and leave him, he'll understand but that doesn't mean it will hurt any less.

I agree with your suggestion tho! The only way to truly get him out of his head is to rail him as disrespectfully as you can manage. This took forever because I was originally going to make this a scenario, but I realized it would need an entire fic to satisfyingly explore without needing to post three different parts upon request like that Chuuya ask lol. So, headcanons!

Beast

The first source of confusion would come from the daily routine.

Beast Atsushi works for the Mafia, so he'd naturally go to the headquarters to start his day. Which is naturally a shock to Mori.

For Beast, it'd be an absolute shock of terror.

He relies on a mix of a prong collar and Dazai's power for security, so he very much would not stay at Mori's mafia.

He'd go to find Dazai, fearing retribution for being late or missing possible jobs.

Which, in turn, would confuse the ADA and normal Dazai, because Atsushi shows up late, shaking, and begging for forgiveness and flinching from Dazai.

All around, Beast Atsushi would be utterly confused and scared to be in a new universe like the original.

He'd be utterly terrified of Dazai, and initially hostile to the ADA, he wouldn't cope well.

Normal Atsushi

Unlike Beast, Atsushi would figure it out right away. He runs less on autopilot, so he'd notice right away that he isn't in his usual home.

He wouldn't go into 'work', he'd go straight to the ADA as soon as he realizes the change.

However, that doesn't mean Atsushi wouldn't be insanely confused at finding such a radically different group of employees working at the ADA.

Especially since he recognizes so many of them, but they just aren't right.

As for the new ADA, they'd be on edge and hostile from the start towards him. Since their version of him is kind of unhinged and violent.

Atsushi would honestly have a breakdown at that.

He tries so hard to not be a monster, to leave that dark part of himself behind, but here are his friends earing him for that very same issue. He'd be miserable
