Fuck it, I'm going to go out and say it: while I often enjoy being teased on here, a fair portion of what I receive irritates me as it's misguided at best and reeks deeply of unlearned, malicious fatphobia at its worst. Yes I want to be fatter but I'm not fat. I am a 140-lbs/63.5-kg twink despite all my efforts to gain weight. I'm not stick thin, sure, but I'm sure as hell not fat either. So why are some people insistent on calling me fat/huge/big? Are actual fat people too much for you (perhaps even in spite of you being a self-professed FA)? Is your idea of fatness grounded in equating 'not even that chubby' with 'fat' while not even being attracted to people who are actually fat? Do you solely find bloated skinny guys hot while still saying you like fat people? Or are you not attracted to fat people at all and here simply to take your fatphobia out on the people closest to your image of ideal thinness, who you'd be more openly attracted to if they lost 10-20 pounds, all while still scoffing at or ignoring the fat people at the heart of these communities?
Some of y'all really need to do better. Either own up to your love of people who are actually fat (which may entail adjusting your understanding of what fatness is), clean up your nomenclature, or don't be here. Yes unlearning biases like fatphobia takes time and effort, but your choices really are more or less that simple.

symbolically, dany (probably) not being able to have kids is very powerful. throughout the first book, her worth as a queen, threat as a conqueror and value as a body is determined by her ability to breed: the prospect of a son overshadows all her achievements and her body is used and abused as the vehicle of her brother's, her husband's and various other men's conquests. that is why it is so radical when instead of her barrenness being depicted as defective, she births the dragons all by herself, all of herself, without any real male intervention. SHE is the true dragon, it's in HER blood, HER power and she flips the terms of reproduction so that she is the one inscribing meaning into lifeless matter, animating clay. any marriage she now enters will be far more on her bodily terms. in fact, there doesn't have to be a husband or a son or even a legacy - she defines daenerys and she defines targaryen.
of course, personally this is still heartbreakingly sad for someone like dany who desperately wants a home and family. even as it potentially grants her more autonomy and forges a very important maternal bond with her dragons, daenerys is still left feeling isolated from and through her body.

Having a body is already so difficult. Why do there have to be politics involved as well

For Carolee Schneemann, the personal was political. She saw the body — in particular, her own body — as inextricably entwined with its physical and sociopolitical environment, and therefore as a primary site for both understanding the world and taking a stance of resistance.
In the first UK survey of her work, Carolee Schneemann: Body Politics at the Barbican Centre, the artist’s body politics are shown to be radical, wild, and challenging.

I wish people would just write Rule 63 AUs of Dick and Tim instead of feminizing them. Like, not stopping anyone playing in their respective sandboxes, and I do enjoy seeing them used to play with gender, but the heteronormativity in slash ships is sometimes physically painful. It's one of the reasons I could never get into JayDick and SladeDick. Even in the well-written ones Dick is so weirdly soft and codependent. Jesus Christ will the Devin Graysoning ever end.
JayTim was also a trashfire a few years ago but it's gotten a bit better since that one prolific writer left. Or maybe I mind Tim being softened up less. He was always a lot more malleable character than Dick, whose personality is actually really close to Jason's - brooding, hot-tempered, bull-headed, abrasive. Tim is a lot calmer and laidback (unless he's dealing with Damian lmao) and a natural chameleon.
The way Jason is written is sometimes even worse than the feminization. It's like because he has a large and powerful body, it naturally follows that he's also hypermasculine as a partner, falling into the "protective dominant male" role. There's something extremely classist about the brawler's roughness and aggression writers impose on him, especially when they try to spell out his Gotham street accent.
Please stop basing people's personalities on what their bodies are like. That's how you get eugenics. Maybe feminize Jason more instead, and make him crossdress instead of Dick and Tim. Masculinize Tim. Bring back Dick's Mulletwing personality. Just try to subvert these stereotypes somehow? Write things that challenge your own biases every so often. Like another post said - the problem is not that there's too much of one thing, it's that there's not enough of the other.

Body issues under the cut.
So I’ve been losing weight slowly since I started on my ADHD meds and its. fine. Like I had some subtle complicated feelings about it because SOCIETY but it’s been mostly neutral. I didn’t even notice for 6 months or so, and then the main difference was I bought jeans a size down.
But when I was working on my thesis and suffering with COVID, I lost even MORE weight, faster, and now more than ever Every Goddamn Heterosexual Woman in my acquaintence TALKS TO ME ABOUT IT. I have to awkwardly be like ‘yeah uhhh. I’ve been sick. I intend to gain it back. fuck off. fuck off fuck off fuck off.’
With this UNAVOIDABLE PROMPT to think about my body, i’ve realised that if I lose any more weight im gonna be unhappy about it, actually!! I knew I haven’t wanted to be thin for a very very very long time. But now I know I actively want to be NOT thin.
I love my body as my body obviously. and that’s most important. But I also love it aesthetically. And This is ME. I have been a fat girl ever since puberty! This is what my body looks like. I’m still a fat girl now but if I lose much more weight I’d be entering the grey area where  ‘you’re just curvy’ and you can find clothes that fit you in most shops. I LIKE being fat. I like being soft and big. This is a key part of my queerness and gender presentation you know?
I like fatness as an invisible bullshit detector, also. I don’t want to lose that. What if cishet women start approving of my body? What if people who find fat bodies disgusting find me attractive? Horrible!!!!
But I don’t want to force my body to gain weight either! I haven’t tried to be a specific size since I was 15 years old and did the disordered eating thing. I don’t think deliberately eating more to try be larger is any healthier than deliberately eating less to be smaller. I have very much enjoyed my adulthood of eating a delicious and varied diet because I enjoy food and want to be healthy, exercising because it feels good and I want to be strong, you know? But I’m also a big fat lesbian who likes her big fat lebian body to be, you know, big and fat!
Do I make myself eat more regularly? Do I make myself eat more energy rich foods? Do I get Buff so even if I’m not soft I can still be big? I don’t knooow and i hate it! It sucks!

A scalded cat is afraid of everything, not just cold water. I see the fear in most people's steps: particularly the ones who don't follow the standard protocol of what a human being should look like. Stepping stones in the way of being, fear replaces the soles of worn-out shoes that somebody else convinced us we should fill. So the weary cats lay down on the hot burning concrete because that's what's familiar. Hell looks like home to those who never tasted the perfectly ripped cantaloupe or kissed the right person. And we convince ourselves this is the best we will ever get. Well, but let me tell you: being grateful for the bare minimum is the purest sign of misery.
