Playfighting
Imagine, Maddie Fenton having a video chat with Batman or Bruce Wayne her close childhood friend, talking about different ways to help their ghost situation, his children also in the room with them, trying their best to stay awake due to the lack of sleep and exhaustion, caused by the ghosts.
When Danny just pops out of nowhere with his black hair and blue eyes, that made every children of Batman think, if Maddie and Bruce were really just a Childhood friends(Which they are).
"Hello, Mother I am bored, and I want to do something productive but not that productive." Danny stated, while looming behind Maddie who just sighed in stress.
"Go play with your little sister" Maddie exclaimed, and went back to talking with Batman.
Danny let out a soft okay, before disappearing out of the video call.
not even a minute later, a loud bang echoed throughout Maddie's house making all the batkids alert asking what's wrong and if Maddie was alright, Maddie ignored the noise and reassured with a gentle smile that she was fine, before going back into a conversation with Batman.
Talking about perfect timing, here comes Danny and Dani strangling and roundhousing eachother to death, The batkids (except Damian, who was staring at the two trying to figure out who will win) are concerned to an extreme level because why are two 'civillian' kids trying to kill eachother?
meanwhile Batman and Maddie just continued their conversation, like it was just a normal everyday occurrence.

story prompt: children of villains au
Jack and Maddie Fenton, after college and prior to having their first child, were highly-effective super villains. Mad scientists the likes of which Luthor could only dream of achieving.
They were so fucking frightening that this is what drove Vlad away. He wasn't biding his time, he was goddamn hiding from his ex-best friends so that they wouldn't dissect him.
Shit man, they'd nearly done it to him when he'd been fully human. If they found out he'd become part of their obsession?
So yeah Vlad went to ground.
No financial backing, no morals, only science. Everything was a science experiment, full stop.
Then they had a daughter, and like...huh. This. This wasn't an experiment. This was perfection? A mix of both Jack and Maddie, in one tiny perfect body. She was adorable.
And the government, knowing that if these crackpots were dangerous before, holy fuck they'd be unstoppable now cuz protective parent mode go, offers them a deal.
Stop attacking people, stop experimenting on people, stop being villains, make weapons for the government. Do this, and the government will set them up in a house, let them continue experiments that do not infringe on human rights, and the kid gets a full ride scholarship to whatever college she wants, however many times she wants to go.
The Fentons took it; shit man a free scholarship is nothing to laugh at, they'd been to college. That debt was the driving force to them turning to villainy in the first place.
By the time they had Danny they'd fully acclimatized to being strange, ghost-obsessed parents.
The accident happens, Jack and Maddie don't know, shit goes down, and the GIW find out before they do. Then Danny goes missing, after his last known location was being shot down by the GIW.
Now Jack and Maddie, their kids are perfect. Small, cute perfect little kids. Theirs and theirs alone. If one of them managed to become half of the thing they were obsessing over, then they would learn to live with that, because he was their son.
The GIW had hurt their son.
So they made sure Jazzy-pants was secure, protected, and safe; and then proceeded to get all of their old super-villain gear back, decimate the GIW, and commit multiple war crimes.
The government, thinking that they've gone back for no reason, freaks and calls the Justice League. The Justice League who had never had to fight the Fentons, as they'd retired just before the League formation. The older heroes that had fought them are either dead or in retirement.
They know Superman's weakness, they know how to deal with Flash, they can even handle Wonder Woman. Whatever hero the Justice League throws at them, they know exactly what to do.
They are Batman levels of insanely prepared, but with the insanity to be just unpredictable enough that Batman can't tell his friends how to work around the Fenton's plans.
Meanwhile, Jack and Maddie have managed to find out that their baby boy is not being held by the GIW. In fact, it looks like he's gone to ground, smart boy that he is.
They track him to his last known location.
Gotham.
In Gotham, Jason snaps at the street kid he'd taken in to hold the fuck still, since stitches were hard. Danny tries, but stitches feel weird and he's ticklish.
In Wayne Manor, Jazz stares down Bruce Wayne; conclusive evidence in front of her to prove he is Batman. She demands he finds her brother before her parents tear the world apart.
In the Bat Cave, Sam stares down Damian, and Tucker gets stared down by Alfred. They just wanted to find their friend, and what better way than a tracker on the BatMobile?

Hot take: dc x dp, but with good parents Jack and Maddie fenton.
Yes, Danny is part of the batfam. Yes, Bruce has legally adopted Danny and would have adopted jazz (if she didn't insist she was too old to be adopted). Jack is still their loving father. Maddie is still their devoted mother. Both parents recognize that their children love the batkids and the batparents (Yes, this includes Alfred and Maybe Selena) as family, and as the family doesn't seem abnormal (by amity park standards) they let their kids develop healthy relationships with whoever they want.
Madie fenton is Bruce Wayne's science nemesis. She doesn't buy "Brucie" for a second. Millionaire playboy who? Every time she picks up her kids from his house as per the shared custody agreement, she finds him tinkering with some strange device and casually points out "yknow, you have something, but it could be better if you....". She's so used to correcting her husband's math errors and design flaws that the first time she catches Bruce with an unsafe device, reflexes kick in.
Jack, on the other hand, pulls an uno reverse on Bruce. Bruce thought he was adopting a black haired and blue eyed teen with angst issues. Nope! Jack now has a new reclusive rich best friend! They're family, practically brothers! You want to run for gotham mayor and end city crime? Anything you say B-man!
Jack and Maddie start showing up to batkids's civilian events for moral support. Cassandra has a ballet recital? They're in the front seat; cheering her on! Tim has a big presentation in front of the company board of directors? Yet again, Jack and Maddie somehow got past building security; and holy heck, why do they have a "support Tim Wayne" t-shirt cannon?!!? After the 5th cookie care basket with sugar snaps that tried to eat his stapler at the bludhaven police station, Dick now has to politely ask them to stop sending food. He appreciates the effort, but the gingerbread men caused a queen of fables scare and tried to eat a convict.
Jack and Maddie know Danny is phantom. The "threats" to shoot him? He's their son! They'd never! But they can't let him know that they know, so they keep up the act half heartedly. They realize their invention killed him. They realize everything they thought they knew about ghosts was wrong. But how do you say sorry to your kid if he isn't ready to forgive you? Especially if you've wronged him infathomably. You don't. You love him unconditionally; and you live each day with him as the gift it is. And you keep his secret, even from him. You fight infathomable and terrifying monsters each night, over and over, praying that once they're gone he can sleep safely. If he ever wants to forgive you, he'll tell you; when he's ready. And if he can't? You live with what you've done, regret and greif forever seered into your soul. You know he is loved and cared for. He is protected. To you, that's all that matters.

Some silly thoughts that I randomly got while my eyes are growing heavy....
Bruce had not (or probably forgot to) announce that he had a new kid, which is Danny Fenton so now, Danny has three secret identities.
Also, Bruce doesn't know about Fenton being Phantom.
And also, Danny got adopted solely because right after he fought Skulker and Desiree, he ended up being in Gotham. With his powers being short circuited a few times during the fight, he looked like a homeless beggar, beaten up and everything in his human form. Even at the end of the battle, his powers had not let up just yet, fortunately he was able to soup both of the ghosts with his thermos.
So while walking down the streets, it was night time, some thug came and tried to mug the boy only to be rescued by Batman since he was on patrol.
And Danny being Danny, lies elegantly. Now, Batman and his best friend Paranoia, advised and guided Danny to a manor and there, history begins.
All because Danny lied about having no parents when in truth, Maddie and Jack were all waiting for him to come back for dinner. (they knew of his ghostly powers)
Danny doesn't know Bruce being Batman, and Batman doesn't know Danny being Phantom.
..........
Danny Fenton
Danny Wayne
Danny Phantom
...........
Danny kept persuading Bruce to let him go to Amity Park since he always wanted to stay there (also cuz he can't stay out of his Haunt for too long) and Bruce let's him.... Without forgetting to give him allowance.
............
Sooner or later, Danny gets a call from Bruce, the man usually calls or Danny calling him cuz their family now and all that and they would talk casually and stuff cuz for some reason, Bruce can't get past a firewall that's protecting Amity Park and all of its residents are there getting their online acc being protected as well.
And Danny expected Bruce to ask him how it was going on his side but then was taken aback cuz the man invited him to the manor for a family night.
With much consideration, Danny agreed. Only to be surprised that Danny wasn't the only kid cuz there are other look-alikes sprawling around the manor.
So the guilt he has inside his heart dissipated cuz a part of the reason why he signed the adoption papers was that he thought Bruce was a lonely man and he had a different vibe than Vlad and on the plus side, he could show off the adoption papers at Vlad.
............
The Batkids stared at the new kid, glaring at Bruce as to who is he while the man himself was confused as well, did he not tell them? He thought. And no, no he did not.

A DC X DP IDEA #5 His Choices and Regrets
Imagine dis…
 We all know how Bruce Wayne only wanted the best for his kids, a kind and loving father even though he doesn’t know how to show it a man who is willing to protect those he claims as his own. We also know that Batman thinks logically, prepares contingencies plans for himself and those around him, he installs fear into the criminals in Gotham.
But we mostly forget that both Bruce Wayne and Batman are the same people.
Dylan Wayne was born in the union of Bruce Wayne and a mysterious woman who stole and cared for the stone heart of both Bruce and Batman as well as the woman who died in childbirth. Dylan grew up around his older brothers, grandfather, and father.
Bruce could still see the sparkle he was sure that he had gotten it from his mother. Dylan was his treasure alongside Dick and Jason who wanted nothing more than to protect their newest and their little brother.
But all happiness comes to an end. Assassins and rogues both in and out of Gotham are out for the head of either Bruce Wayne or Batman sometimes both heads. While everyone in his family can defend themselves, it is Dylan's fear. His smart boy that found the cave at the mere age of 5 is a target both in and out of his suit.
Making a decision that both Bruce Wayne and his Batman persona agree upon filled an emergency yet temporary foster for his son in the claim that Bruce Wayne’s son is in danger seeing that the media has somehow got the news of Brucie Wayne having a new son barely reaching double digits.
Searching for a family that isn’t after his money as well as a good background is harder than filling out the criminals that escaped Arkham. He stumbled upon the Fenton’s a bit of a screw loose but a good family, after extensive research into their background he deemed them normal enough for a temporary foster for his son.
After a teary goodbye from both sides and promises that he will return and pick him back, Dylan alongside his social worker board the plane going straight to the Fenton family.
Dylan now Danny waited for more than a decade for his “family” to come and get him but no one came for his aide. No one bothered to check on him, after a few years with the Fenton it was clear that they value their machinery more than their biological daughter now sister than a parent to raise him. Looking like Jack Fenton that has the same height as Maddie Fenton looks like he was their child all along, the townspeople merely looked at him and didn’t question the additional Fenton.
A few years in waiting for his father both older Fenton’s gave him a paper that has the signature that allowed them to formally adopt him and only needed his signature to make it official, that paper was currently under his bed forgotten by all except by dust. He was sure that his father hadn’t forgotten him nor he will allow some adults to replace his father.
Dying at the age of 14, he could still remember crying out for his father’s name to whisper that everything will be okay, but no one came. He still remembers the electricity flowing through his body as the ectoplasm rearranges his very DNA, as the fact that he died and came back.
A few months into his persona as the only vigilante in his town his team of friends kept sending out SOS calls to the JL but after the umpteenth call, they were officially blocked from calling any direct or hotline to the JL.
He tried calling his father through the small phone that contained only their numbers and kept connecting to no one.
He couldn’t loathe the man, no, but the fact that he ignored both him as his child and also an entire town in need of help in his other persona he began to HATE the man. He began to refuse to acknowledge that he and Bruce ever share anything other than their last name on paper.
After defeating the Pariah Dark who was mind controlled by the Observants, whose very oaths prevent them to own nor control the Infinite Realms found a loophole by controlling their king a few thousand years ago. Controlling him through unethical ghostly means, spreading fear and turning him into a tyrant, and proceeding to lock him up in the pretense of saving the Realms from his oppressive rules and giving them a good reputation.
Tilting the balance to their favor thus making unnatural portals, forcing most of the Ancients to have an unbreakable vow to do their bidding, corrupting the ectoplasm that flows throughout the realms that began to leak to the mortal planes and more, are all ended and foiled a teen ghost.
Defeating the Pariah Dark not only ends the mind control but also sends a nasty backlash to all Observants. Clockwork timing out to give Danny a basic summary of what has just transpired and now every ancient in the Infinite Realms are now banding together to destroy the Observants for once and for all and expect a few days of ghost free.
After a week of no communication from Clockwork, both he and Pariah Dark alongside Fright Knight visited Danny while Clockwork paused time around them. Pariah Dark bowed and went to his knees to thank the young ghost boy for his deed of stopping him from destroying the balance and the Infinite Realms itself. As both the Realms and each mortal plane in existence are connected and one could not exist without the other.
Presenting the crown and ring he tried to give it to Danny as the right of succession of ghosts is through strength as the stronger king can protect the Realms more than the previous one as the Realms themselves agreed on the decision to transfer the rulership to Danny.
Danny visibly flinched at the sight of the two most powerful artifacts in the entire Realms and refused wholeheartedly the crown and ring as he feels that he has no right seeing that he had defeated him through a machinery that his fosters made.
A ping-pong argument between the two started between two while Fright began adding some tidbits of his own opinion that seemed to continue for another century Clockwork said to Danny that they can compromise seeing that he was just an infant.
All adult ghosts such as Pariah Dark and Fright Knight seemed to freeze at the notion, while Danny paused at the wording. Danny stated that he is officially almost 17, Clockwork countered that it has only been 3 years since his initial death.
Danny got defensive at the notion of his death but noticed that Fright Knight and Pariah Dark did a very mortal notion of dropping their respective jaws to the ground. Asked why on earth they are acting shocked especially Fright Knight since he fought him when he was 15 or 16 years old. Both ancient old ghosts explain why on earth he shouldn’t be allowed to fight in the first place as well ignoring the fact that both got defeated by him but they don’t talk about that for now.
Being a halfa who was just as rare as well that just recently died he was considered a ghost equivalent of a ghost baby. In the afterlife, it is the years after death that count for ghosts as the youngest one to die was Youngblood who died centuries before him, thus making him the former youngest throughout the realms. The fact he defeated thousand years and centuries-old ghosts makes him the most powerful yet youngest ghost to ever live in their afterlife as well as the fact that he keeps getting more powerful every year. Danny made an off-hand comment about he gets new powers every day and keeps forgetting on listing each new one. Fright Knight was paling at the notion that ghosts can pale. Pariah Dark only looked at him with contemplation. Compromising to the best of his abilities he became the newly crowned prince of the Infinite Realms.
In the following days, ghosts become nicer or more tolerable even Skulker as he hunted him twice a week now, instead of the ghost’s attacks that take up most of his sleep, now can finally rest and start bringing his grades up.
Pariah Dark kept visiting in terms of teaching him to be the next king of the Infinite Realms as who better teach the young ghost about ghost politics than the king himself? Fright Knight appeared once in a while to make sure that he is training to become a strong knight as well-being his supposed bodyguard to the crowned prince as there was never a prince throughout the history of the Infinite Realms. Slowly Danny and Pariah Dark form a bond as father teacher and son student.
Danny was both scared and hopeful, scared that one day he will be abandoned, left, replaced forgotten by Bruce (yes, he kept following the Waynes and lo and behold a blood son that replaced him) and hopeful that maybe one day he will have a father-figure that would be there just for him, and thinking at the thought he would never have.
On his 17th birthday, his fosters found out, in an attempt to save Danny from a lethal blast, Jazz threw herself in front of her son's brother to give him time to escape but alas it was futile as he was captured by the suspecting GIW agents outside his home that had arrested the entire town along with his friends as the entire people of the Amity park are infected in some ways.
As they were all dragged by the GIW agents they didn’t see Jazz’s spirit and ghost slowly forming by their side and silently going to the portal as she hit the destruction button to prevent any more victims.
Her entire appearance changed gone from her ginger hair and blue-eyed girl. Now a hulking 6’9 giant blue woman who looks wears iron armor that covers her entire body that resonates with her flaming hair.
Quickly flew towards Pariah Dark’s haunt to give him the grave news.
Back in the day, Pariah Dark was known to be fair towards his subjects, a ruler with a great sense of duty, justice, and purpose. But the moment he found himself a son, a son that his core ached for someone that he cares for. He knew how rare it is for ghosts to have children and rarer for a child ghost to form by the will of Infinite Realms close to none. Meeting Danny, and teaching him with all of his wisdom and knowledge he can’t help but think back fondly about the times they spent his time to know his heir and son.
As His heir is perfect to rule among the Infinite Realm as he kept the balance no matter how hard it is, he took his son to a hospital where a newly born child had just died, new reapers can't look at the scene of a wailing mother and a father holding their child dead in their arms but Danny didn’t blink an eye and took the child’s souls whispering some assurances and guided the soul to their next adventure.
As a son, his core ached and connected with the child immediately he wanted to keep him close to ensure he is safe to make sure he is spoilt and protected. He knew that wasn’t possible as his ghostly ward/ son made a home for himself on the mortal plane thus leaving him the option of him being present in his life as well making sure that his haunt is always welcome to him.
So, when his son’s adopted sister in her ghost form made her way toward his haunt, he knew that something had happened. Gathering up all of the ancients to prepare the meeting room as he saw the pure anger and desperation on her face without his son's ward, he knew it was serious.
In his immortal life had never met humans and mortals like these men. But the moment those pests ever thought of harming his son. They will learn the lesson of never going to war against the Infinite Realms, especially if that someone is who they have chosen and claimed personally.
That day each citizen both strong and not, young and old of the Infinite Realms all gather up to war for their prince, and Pariah Dark swore to himself that day that mortals will learn why he was called The Bloodied King.
Pariah Dark had announced alongside his army in the mortal realms that they have just started a war on their realm as they have not only started to destroy their homes but also dared to kidnap their young crowned PRINCE!
After three months of continuous attacks. The JL is getting suspicious of their government as they could not even disclose the reason why different glowing “meta’s” are after a specific branch of their government. The JLD members are in the dark even though Constantine has given them a brief explanation of who was wearing and leading the attacks. At the announcement that the king had made it was obvious that they are at wrong here, at the perspective of the lanterns they are quite distressed seeing that the human government decide to make an enemy of an interdimensional king as well as kidnapping their prince, the senators are trying to hide and wash their hands off luckily JL remained their neutrality as they are not the governments attack dogs. Batman was able to find the same branch that kept being destroyed to ashes and being killed off by the glowing “meta’s”, hidden deep within Alaska, he sent out Red Hood and the Young Justice covert team to look for the missing prince to appease the king so that they could also try diplomatic relations with them.
Red Hood only came because Nightwing was unavailable as his services are required in his daytime job. As the team went closer to the building something inside him began screaming at the injustice as well as the anger that reeked of the place. Shaking his head at the unneeded pit rage, he signaled the team to enter the premise in silence.
The deeper they get the more bodies and bloodier the scene they have to witness, a body cam strapped to each member recording live to the JL made the infamous Superman almost hurl at the sight of a five-year-old girl strapped down at a table, had her insides opened up like a frog on a dissection table, surrounded by her blood with some green flecks in it as well unaltered fear in her face as her mouth is open as if she died screaming.
At the end of the hall, they saw the front of the door which is quite different from the rest. Taking a peek Red Hood almost didn’t want to believe what he saw.
There lay his bloodied little brother chained with the heaviest metal, covered in scars both healed and not, bloodied from head to toe, as well wearing both muzzle and shock collar.
How could his brother be in there? Bruce assured him that Dylan is safe and protected away from all things, but no, there he saw the bloodied form and shallow breathing of his brother.
Immediately the pit rage took over breaking free his little brother and carrying him as if he was an infant. Killing the agents that tried to get in between him and his brother, running back to the space station to make sure that his brother survived.
..
Oracle, Nightwing, and Red Hood are all in a screaming match between Batman who remained silent throughout the match, taking in their screams while Red Robin, Robin, and the rest of them are at the side as they didn’t know what had just happened as Agent A quickly went to the east Zetta tube to look at the survivor with much care and love.
Batman made a face towards the mystery teen on the other side of the two-way mirror as the Leagues doctors try to save this teen from obvious human experimentation.
The moment the mystery teen woke up, he began screaming for his father and siblings. Red Hood immediately along with Nightwing went inside to comfort the said teen but kept fighting back, thrashing and screaming about his father. Batman tried to enter the med bay to comfort the teen to the best of his abilities seeing that his emotions are clearly on display. That is his son, what did he witness to gain such a reaction from his brothers and father? The teen didn’t calm down but kept screaming that kept upping the volume as the seconds tick by.
Batman looked like he swallowed glass, does his son doesn’t recognize him anymore? He swears he will personally burn the government down.
Suddenly a powerful gust of kind pushed all three of them away from Dylan.
In an instant they weren’t alone, the Pariah Dark hugging Dylan as he kept whispering reassurances to him, a tall blue-skinned flame-haired woman knelt and hugged him lastly a clocked individual with an hourglass staff in the corner looking at the hugging trio fondly.
Who are they?
PS: If someone out there wants to continue or make a fic about this you are free to do so don’t forget to tag me though:)

DC x DP Prompt: Maddie Kane
Disclaimer: I don't know a whole lot about the Kane family. This is mostly my own interpretation based on the wikis I hastily read.
Roderick and Betsy Kane had six children: Martha, Nathan, Philip, Jacob, Roderick Jr., and Madeline.
Now, Madeline was a surprise baby. Martha was already twenty-three and married to Thomas by the time her only sister was born, but that didn't stop her from showering the girl with love and affection. Thomas loved his little sister-in-law just as much, and the two practically raised her as their own. Under the undivided care and affection of Martha and Thomas, little Madeline grows up to be a willful, independent, free-thinking, intelligent girl who is very, very happy with her life at Wayne Manor.
Madeline and Martha's relationships with their brothers are... complicated, to say the least. Martha as a rule did not fully support the Kane Family's arms dealings, and so tried to distance herself (and subsequently Madeline) from them. The Kane boys didn't challenge this overmuch: they were, after all, hard military men and didn't have much interest in raising their sister who would surely just become another socialite married to one billionaire or another. (It's ironic, then, that Maddie would grow up to be the best weapons innovator the Kanes would ever produce, but such things happen.)
Madeline had just turned thirteen when Martha and Thomas had Bruce. Her little nephew was a long-awaited joy for the family, and she would sooner think of Bruce than the Kane boys when Maddie heard the word "brother".
This idea is only solidified when the Kanes, forced to acknowledge their sister after multiple high-society scandals, try to strong-arm her into attending a finishing school in England. (Maddie to this day does not regret hospitalizing Lionel Luthor. If he didn't want a broken fibula, then he shouldn't have gotten drunk at a Wayne Gala and tried to strike his son. The following press release was unfortunate, but the thank you card from Alexander was touching.) The Kanes are not successful in removing Madeline from Gotham, and after much back-and-forth, they give one final ultimatum: either go to England and return an "upstanding member of society," or Madeline would be officially cut off.
Madeline chooses the second option without much further thought, sure to tell her brothers to stuff it in as many ways as she can before she trashes the Kane Mansion for good measure.
Madeline, now almost exclusively going by "Maddie", thrives. She gets accepted into the University of Wisconsin, and so off she goes, with hugs and well-wishes from Martha, Thomas, and Bruce, who are staying in New Jersey.
Maddie is twenty-one when she gets the worst news of her life: Martha and Thomas are dead. She puts her studies on hold for a bit and flies back for the funeral, her research partner/best friend in the world/boyfriend Jack Fenton-Nightingale coming with her.
Not even a week after her sibling-parents are put in the ground, her brother Philip tries to swoop in and seize Wayne Industries for himself. Thankfully, though, Martha and Thomas's wills were very clear: Maddie is to manage the Waynes' estates until Bruce comes of age. So Maddie once more tells her brothers to fuck off, this time for good. Jack, muscled, glowering, and seven feet tall and still growing, makes good to stand silently in the background so the Kanes don't try to pull anything further.
As soon as she is able, Maddie sits Bruce down and they make arrangements. Maddie can't abandon her schooling forever, and Bruce's life has been upended enough; she doesn't want to make it worse by ripping him away from the only home he's ever known. So Maddie signs over custody to Alfred, and promises are made to visit every chance she gets.
Life moves on. Jack and Maddie get married and start Fenton Works. Bruce starts traveling abroad to "further his education of the world." Maddie and Jack have two kids. Jasmine Martha Fenton-Nightingale-Kane inherited the Kane signature fire-red hair, and Daniel James Fenton-Nightingale-Kane looks so much like Martha that it hurts. Bruce adopts a gaggle of children of his own. Bruce and Maddie like to send each other pictures to brag about their respective kids, and the Fenton-Nightingale-Kanes make sure to visit Gotham for at least one week every summer.
Maddie and Jack don't ask too many questions when Bruce hesitantly takes them aside and requests that they make a couple of custom-made, non-ghostly weapons for him. Of course they'd be happy to make him a few odds and ends every once in a while. Goodness knows how dangerous Gotham can be.
The Fenton-Nightingale-Kanes miss their summer trip for the first time ever when Danny comes to them and explains the whole "half-a-ghost-thing" and, well... Jack and Maddie spend the entire summer reeducating themselves about ghosts, working through years of biases, and ensuring that their son knows that they still love him of course we still love you, Danny, there isn't a thing in this world that could stop us from loving you. Dick Grayson is very understanding and assures them that Bruce wouldn't mind. (Dick is very happy to avoid telling Aunt Maddie and Uncle Jack about Bruce's death. Dick is even more happy when Tim finds proof that their dad was just lost in the timestream and not actually dead. That entire summer was very stressful for both sides of the family)
It isn't until Danny is seventeen and hesitantly makes contact with the Justice League that the Waynes learn about ghosts and the Fenton-Nightingale-Kanes learn about the vigilantism.
Maddie is so cross when she and the rest of the ghostly delegation walks into the Watchtower only to come face-to-face with her nephew/brother, and don't you try and deny that's you, Brucie, I have eyes. Who are you trying to fool, young man?
The rest of the Justice League has to awkwardly sit there as the Ghost King and his family have a full-on family reunion, with King Phantom taking the time to finally introduce his partners to his cousins, Princess Jasmine and Nightwing teaming up to try and talk Red Robin into dialing back on the caffeine intake, King Father Jack exchanging fudge recipes with Agent A, and Queen Mother Madeline chewing out Batman for being a reckless idiot and not telling her what he was using his gadgets for. ("If I knew that grappling hook would be actively used every night, I would have installed more safety features! We could've made it more durable! We would've had to put it through more rigorous testing before we deemed it field-ready!" "Why does that bother you now? Isn't your lab safety horrible?" "A private, indoor lab that less than ten people have access to is not the same as the streets of Gotham in every type of weather! Goddammit, Bruce, I swear--")

Not sure if this is a thing already, but…what if Danny gets unofficially adopted by Batman, and he’s ok with that?
It’d probably be post reveal-gone-wrong or something, but i could also see it just being Jack and Maddie taking the family on trip to Gotham for the summer. Tbh my favorite version of this is within the first full year of him being Phantom, so he’s still getting new powers and stuff every now and then, and hasn’t really gotten all this vigilante stuff down to a science yet. Either way, Danny is trying to stay under the bats’ radar, (and also avoid his friends’ jokes about being adopted by Bruce Wayne becoming reality) but, well..
Danny “what even is my luck” Fenton can’t seem to keep out of the weird shit that happens in Gotham, and doesn’t realize that slipping out of the rogue’s traps isn’t something normal enough to be unnoticed by the bats. Maybe it’s the aftermath of a Scarecrow fight, and Danny stayed intangible for as long as he could, probably occasionally dropping it every now and then because he’s not really thinking, and it takes effort to be intangible like that. Either way, Batman eventually comes upon him while distributing the antivenom or whatever for the fear gas, and comes across this meta child who’s kinda aware, but seems to keep density shifting and makes it impossible to give the cure to, in the way that someone who’s afraid of needles might squirm when they’re getting a shot.
So he just sort of sits there and holds out his arm, and eventually the kid catches on. He grabs on and grips as hard as he can. Batman, slowly, broadcasting his movements, takes his other hand, and puts it to his own chest. He breathes in, holds, and breathes out. In, hold, out. It only takes the kid a minute or two of the kid copying his breathing to calm down enough to thank him, likely due to a boosted metabolism or some other mechanism for his body to deal with toxins. It took another second for the kid to visibly realize that Batman saw him go intangible, and quickly rush out “please don’t tell anyone Mr. Batman”s and “I know there’s a no-meta rule in Gotham, but I’m not staying here full-time.”
Batman just silently nods.
Much to both of their dismay, this keeps happening.  Poison Ivy attacks? Danny is there, getting people unstuck from vines or sap or whatever she used to trap them because he can’t not help when he’s right there.  Mad Hatter is mind-controlling people? Overshadow him into disabling it, or just fuck with the electronics invisibly.
Riddler is on the attack? Just wiggle in your ropes while his henchmen are setting things up, so as to make it look like you’re really skilled at escaping instead of becoming intangible. Might as well “untie” your fellow hostages, knock out a few henchmen while you’re at it.
These things keep happening, and Danny is actually feeling refreshed. He’s not doing most of the work here, the bats are. He’s just helping out on the side, is all. He’s not waking up at night to fight someone all the time, the bats already have nightshift covered to hell and back. And while constantly coming across Batman isn’t exactly ideal, the man hasn’t tried to drive him out of the city, which is probably as close to a “you can stay” as he’ll ever get, considering that the man hasn’t said so much as a word to him.
Danny’s also pretty sure that the man wouldn’t give him food every time they encounter each other if he wasn’t ok with him. And holy shit, isn’t that something? Edible food that isn’t fudge from an adult with no obligation to him.
Meanwhile, on Bruce’s side, this random meta kid just keeps on showing up at nearly every other rogue attack. Sure it’s been a slow week, but this is ridiculous. He also needs to restock on nutrient bars. They’re don’t taste the best, but between Red Robin forgetting to eat before he hits the rooftops, and the rampant child hunger in many of the poorer areas (he needs to look into his funds for school breakfast and lunch programs again, see if there’s some more wiggle room he can work with), he keeps several on him, just in case.
And if the speed the meta kid seemed to process Crane’s fear gas was any indication, he probably wasn’t eating enough for his boosted metabolism. So he kept a few more on him.
One time, he came in a bit too late, and caught the tail end of the kid bashing Condiment King in the face, -no powers, just a metal folding chair- while griping about how the man had ruined his lunch, and how now he had to eat at home and he was tired and didn’t want to fight his lunch today, because he’s had to do it for the last two days. And then (sloppily) kicking him in the ribs. Of course he had to come in to end the fight, but more than he was concerned about Condiment King, he was worried about the kid. Fighting took energy that the kid was having a hard time replacing as it was, and what’s worse is that the kid’s parents seem to make him hunt his own food. And there aren’t many animals in Gotham other than stray cats, raccoons, and rats. Danny, naturally, is surprised when, instead of being scolded for fighting a rogue on his turf, Batman gives him a handful of those not-granola bars, and two hundred dollars cash. He also wasn’t expecting Batman’s first words to him to be “Go to the corner of Pacific Circle and Evergreen boulevard, they have more nutrient bars for metas there,” but he’ll take what he can get.
And the pat on the head was nice. It was soft, and he saw it coming, and it didn’t knock the wind out of his lungs like his dad’s hugs and back-slaps did. It was nice, and no, Jazz, he was not forming a parasocial relationship with Batman of all people. He was just someone who gave him food and cash, that’s it. It still felt really nice for someone to care about what he needed to eat, though.
He does go to the specified store and get a bunch of different nutrient bars, and makes sure to store them where they won’t come to life. It helps more than he thought it would.
As is her duty, Babs teases the hell out of Bruce for being soft on this one random black-haired, blue-eyed meta kid. You gave him a head pat. A head pat, Bruce. Try not to break out the bat-adoption papers.

Protective Instincts: Part 1
Based off my “Mistaken Identity AU” wherein Danny momentarily mistakes Bruce as his father and is eventually adopted into the family. Full serious of Protective instincts stories will be up on AO3 when they are all written.
“Alright Danny! Courtesy of our new best friend Oracle, I have your brand new ID hot off the press.” Tucker called into the room as he entered.
Danny and Sam were in their shared bedroom in Wayne Manor. Danny was finishing painting Sam’s nails with her customary black. His own were painted a dark purple. Now that they were all finally safe and reconnected it was time to get back to feeling like themselves again. It was well past time they had fun and colorful (or black in Sam’s case) nails. Tucker would get his turn as soon as Sam’s were dry.
Of course there were more than enough rooms in Wayne Manor for them all to have separate rooms, but after a chaotic first night wherein every member of the trio had their own nightmares then panicked when they couldn’t find each other. Even Jazz, usually the most emotionally steady and mentally healthy member of their group didn’t sleep at all that first night as she kept checking on Danny, Sam and Tucker.
So it was decided that the trio would share a bedroom. The bedrooms were definitely large enough for the three of them to sleep side by side by side, and considering they had all crammed themselves into Danny’s tiny twin at the Fenton’s household, they slept comfortably. Plus it made it easier for Jazz to anxiously check on them if they were all in the same bed. Alfred and the Waynes didn’t say anything about them rooming together, though the trio did get a few raised eyebrows when they left their room together.
“Daniel Edward Nightingale.” Tucker said as he handed over the ID with a flourish.
“I can’t believe you picked Edward as your middle name.” Sam said with a sigh as she started to blow on her nails to get them to dry.
“Well Jazz wanted her last name to be Nightingale, you two wanted to share a last name.” Tucker said as he sat down and started looking through the nail polishes that Cassandra and Stephanie had loaned them. Sam’s collection was still in Amity Park. “There are so many puns I can come up with, with those letters.”
Left unsaid was that any middle name that started with an A was completely off the table. Danny didn’t need anymore reminders of Dan. Danny looked over his new paperwork as he spoke.
“Yeah and we’ve already established I’m terrible at naming things. That’s apparently something I inherited from Jazz.”
None of them mentioned Jack and Maddie’s terrible names they gave things. There were a lot of things that were being left unsaid between the three of them.
“Actually, speaking of my sister, have either of you seen her?” Danny asked, standing and stretching.
“Yeah, I handed her ID to her first. She immediately grabbed her purse and left the Manor. Apparently she’s desperate to start the job search so she’s not indebted to Bruce.”
“Did she leave alone?” Danny asked, his voice rising and he knew his eyes were flashing green.
“No, don’t worry. Jason was standing around in the kitchen and he got voluntold to be her escort. He’s got his guns, and Jazz has her creep stick. They’ll be safe.”
“Oh well, that’s good.”
“You don’t sound thrilled. I know you’re worried about her, but she’ll be ok.” Sam said as she started layering a neon blue polish onto Tucker’s nails.
“Yeah, I trust her.” Even if his voice was a little hesitant. “It’s just now that we have real IDs and everything, I was hoping she would help me get my prescription set up, it’s been like a month since I had my last T shot.”
Tucker whipped out his PDA and started typing one handed while Sam glared at him to stop moving so much lest she mess up his nails.
“I’ve got the closest respectable pharmacy, and I’ve already sent in your prescription. I’ve even rearranged their queue and marked your order as a priority fill. It should be ready to pick up in a few minutes.”
Danny gave him a wide smile, then looked nervous again.
“Uh, I was also hoping Jazz could help me administer the shot. Maybe one of you could…?”
He trailed off as both of them looked uncomfortable. Sam capped the polish she was working with and put her hand on Danny’s arm.
“Danny, we love you. But I don’t think either of us are going to be able to stick you with a needle any time soon.” She said. Tucker gave him an anxious smile and a small nod.
“Oh. Well I guess I could do it myself. No problem right!” Even in his own ears the words sounded like false bravado.
“Hey, maybe one of the Waynes would be able to help you out?”
“What can the Waynes help you with?
Before Danny could reply a voice from the hallway made him whip around. Tucker had left the door open in his excitement and standing there, not entering their space but still leaning casually on the doorframe was Dick Grayson.
“Sorry to butt in. And for eavesdropping but I couldn’t help but overhear.” Dick said with a small smile, trying to put them at ease.
Danny consciously forced himself to relax. When he had been startled he had whirled so he was in front of Sam and Tucker his fists raised and his gleaming with a green light. He let out a slow breath and relaxed his clenched and ready muscles. Dick wasn’t a threat. Sam and Tucker were safe. He was safe. He breathed slowly in then out again before he shot a smile back at Dick. He already told the Waynes his biggest secret, what was one more secret? Better to know now if there was going to be a problem before they all got comfortable.
“I was hoping for some help administering my T shot.” He was still tense, but when Dick’s face only changed to a wider smile he relaxed more.
“Oh, I can help you. I’ve helped Wally with his plenty of times. There’s just something about having to stick yourself with a needle that is so much worse. May I come in? Or would you prefer to do it in one of the restrooms?”
Danny relaxed further, almost back to how he was when it was just him, Sam and Tucker in the room. He glanced at them and they both gave him a nod so he nodded ot Dick.
“I don’t have the prescription yet. I was just going to go pick it up.”
Dick entered and glanced curiously around, but quickly refocused. Danny was sure the room was a little messy, with two teenaged boys living there, and all three of them still living out of their suitcases in case they had to leave quickly. However Danny didn’t feel like Dick was judging them at all.
“If you’d like I can swipe the keys to one of Bruce’s cars and drive you to the pharmacy. There’s no worries there.”
Danny hesitated again for just a moment before he nodded. He had been planning on going ghost and flying to the pharmacy then just taking the package with his name on it and disappearing, but maybe it would be better to do this as a human.
“Bye, Danny. Love you!”
“We’ll be here when you get back. Be safe out there. Love you!”
“I love you both too.”
Dick gave him another small smile at their farewells but didn’t say anything. Tucker and Sam had been doing that a lot more recently. He didn’t mind, his core always purred and hummed when they did and he certainly loved them, but he wasn’t sure why or where that had come from.
While he was caught up in his thoughts on his friends Dick had grabbed a set of keys and escorted him into the very full garage. Despite the number of luxury and sports cars that filled the space, Dick led him to one of the more normal looking cars. Still fancy, and still nice, but common enough that it wouldn’t be obvious that a Wayne was on the roads. Dick waited until they had pulled out the front gate and were on the road before he spoke again.
“You don’t have to worry about anyone in the family giving you a hard time.” He said, with his voice soft, comforting. “Half the family is queer and we all have friends or associates who are part of the community.”
“Thanks. That’s good to know.” Danny said. His parents… no. Jack and Maddie had been accepting of his gender identity, but had hated his ghost half. He had been afraid that the Waynes might have been the opposite, ok with his ghost half and bigoted against his gender identity. Though maybe he needn’t have worried, Dick after all, had the most Bisexual energy Danny had ever seen outside of a mirror.
The trip to the pharmacy was quick and efficient. With Dick standing guard and fully willing to stare down or call out anyone who even looked at him funny when he asked the pharmacist for his prescription, Danny was able to get in and out without a problem. Honestly with Dick towering over him at 6 foot, Danny felt as safe as he did when his sister was with him. Though she was even taller at 6’3”. They were pretty sure she was going to end up even taller with the ectoplasm running through her veins.
Once they were back in the Mansion and Danny could relax a little more (he still didn’t relax fully in the mansion, unless he had Tucker, Sam and Jazz around him. That was the only time he felt fully safe) Dick escorted Danny to one of the restrooms on the ground floor.
“You needed help with the injection, is that correct?” Dick asked.
“Yeah, usually Jazz helps me out.” Danny gave a half laugh and rubbed the back of his neck. “It’s weird I’m totally fine with stitching myself up, and giving myself injections of Ecto-dejecto, but I can’t handle the much smaller needle of a T shot.”
For a moment Danny could feel rage radiating off of Dick even though the older man kept his face mostly calm. Though that should have been its own hint at Dick’s emotions. He was almost never serious, always ready with a joke  or a pun.
“It’s ok, Danny. We’re here to help. You don’t have to do everything yourself anymore.”
Danny wasn’t 100% certain that Dick was talking about the testosterone injection at all anymore, but he just nodded and let Dick help him with the injection. He had to look away from the needle and couldn’t help a small flinch as the needle reminded him of all the needles his parents had stuck him with while he was in their care. They wanted to test how ghosts reacted to different chemicals. He had experienced everything from human blood (Jack’s donation) to bleach flowing through his veins.
He didn’t realize he had tensed until he felt strong arms wrap gently around his body. Danny untensed his muscles with difficulty and took a breath, the silent reminder that at least part of him was still alive, even if he didn’t need to breathe anymore. As he repeated the breathing exercises Jazz had taught him, he slowly became aware that Dick was slowly and softly repeating calming phrases to him as he hugged him.
“It’s ok, little ghost. It’s Danny. You’re not alone anymore. You’re safe. Your family is safe. You’re part of our family now. We’re going to keep you safe. You’re ok, Danny.”
More tension bled from his shoulders as he sighed into Dick’s arms. Maybe this is what a family was supposed to feel like.
Final Author Note: I have a couple of these planned, I’ll post them all on tumblr seperately, then on AO3 all together once they are all finished. My Momma Selina story will be updated next. Then I have an idea for Papa Red Hood story that I’ll do next. Also! I have a zine coming out at the end of the week, keep an eye out for it!

Extended Family
DCxDP
An Au where, Maddie is Damian and Danyal, Biological mother besides Talia, Basically Talia and Maddie(+Jack) both grew up in LOA and were very best friends(lovers?? at some point including Jack). Talia wanted a natural birth for her son, as she was not really fond of the idea of a test tube baby. so she asked Maddie a favour to become a surrogate. which Maddie happily accepted. because of her experience with Jazz and Danyal's birth, Talia was sure Maddie can give birth to her son safely.
This was approved by Ra's Because he deemed Maddie as someone that could be trusted due to her becoming one of the most strongest and smart assassins in the LOA(He was fond of her, like really really fond.) So he accepted his daughter proposal for Maddie to become the surrogate.
And then Damian was born, Jazz and Danny basically loved Damian and would not go anywhere but the baby's side. Jack loved taking care of Damian due to Maddie and Talia not knowing how to take care of a baby with physical affection.(basically house husband behavior,).
As the kids grew they become closer through the years until you know, it wasn't safe for them in the LOA anymore so they helped Damian escape first to his Bio dad's place(They did let him pick though, if he wanted to stay with the fenton-nightangles or go to Bruce, he chose the latter because if something happened to them he'll have connections.) and then Maddie and Jack escaped with their children in a random town named Amity park. which turns out was a hotspot for Lazarus pits or Ectoplasm. (They decided to change the name cause everytime Jack hears the word pits he started laughing).
The children of course never severed their communication throughout the years. And Bruce never asked about his life at the LOA so he never introduced his half siblings.
Damian hated his older brother, Danyal with all his might. if you asked him to choose between his Half-sister Jazz or Danyal. He'll choose Jazz in a heartbeat.
He hated him, because of his foolishness and absolute neglect of his surroundings, making him a easy prey amongst people who wants to take advantage of him. He disliked Danyal's poor choices in life especially now.
The youngest wayne stood in the middle of one of the many hallways of his highschool as he stared at a certain, black haired and blue eyed girl, who was waving at him ecstatically, he contemplated if he should fight the girl head on or just run and escape.
Obviously in this situation he would pick the most desirable option to make sure his day wasn't ruined by his older brother, so he picked the latter. Damian dashed through the hallways, making sure to lose the girl before the third period started. He slowed down as he looked warily at his surroundings his back against the storage room incase he needed a hiding place from that test tube spawn.
When suddenly a pair of arms phased through the door embracing Damian as he tried to escape.
The girl giggled as she kept her hold on the older boy who tried to get her off him. "Hi uncle Damian!"
she greeted as she finally let go making space for the boy to take a step back.
"Danielle. Why are you here, Did Danyal send you to pester me?" He glared at his niece, as he kept his guard up.
"Kind of, mama sent me here to check up on you." She explained "You kinda went MIA when you stopped answering his texts and calls."
"This is absurd, I can take care of myself. him thinking something happened to me for not answering his calls is offending, I am not like him." Damian stated as he finally lowered his guard. And started to walk away expecting for Elle to follow to which she did.
"Eh.. You know him, His just paranoid he always is" Elle exclaimed as she looked at her schedule. "What's your next class Uncle?"
"Math."
"Ooh Yey! We're classmates, let's sit together!"
A groan left Damian as Elle chuckled and continued to look at her class schedule beside him, Peaceful quietness welcomed the two as they walked to their shared class.
——
"Do you have a apartment nearby?" Damian asked as he stood up from his table waiting for Elle as she packed her notebooks, only filled with doodles from both party.
"Nope, Mama requested that we move here for easier transport but i didn't wanna bother with all the moving stuff." Elle explained as she finished tidying up. "Beside I can just fly back and forth, what's the use of my powers if I can't abuse em."
"Your logic is as worse as Danyal." Damian exclaimed as they both headed out the door. "Follow along. you'll be staying at my manor this week."
"Why?" Elle asked suspiciously
"Because, It is a tiring job to use your flight ability for something so stupid." The boy explained.
"Is that really all?"
"Ofcourse not, As your uncle it's my job to keep you energized and unbothered, But as your mother's brother its my duty to annoy him for thinking i was in danger. so I'm basically taking you hostage at the manor." Damian grinned, as he took his niece's hand to make sure she doesn't get lost through the maze of hallways
"So basically kidnapping? I'm in."
——
"Master Damian, welcome home." Alfred greeted as he opened the front door. "And who might you be?"
"Hello Alfred, This is Danielle your Great-granddaughter." Damian said, making Alfred raise his eyebrows slightly before returning to his relaxed state.
"Well, nice to meet you Lady Danielle" Alfred greeted with a smile, as he shook her hand.
"Please call me Elle, Alfred" Elle brightly smiled
"Very well then Lady Elle." Alfred chuckled.
"Is father home yet?" Damian asked
"No not yet master Damian, you two may go to the living room as I prepare the guest room for Lady Elle." Alfred exclaimed as he headed to the kitchen to finish what he was doing.
Elle looked at Damian, Damian looked at Elle.
"I can feel my phone vibrating from my bag." She laughed. Her mother Danny was certainly going to be sad that his little brother kidnapped his daughter for a Uncle and niece Hangout.

You know what I have yet to see in any fics where Danny is biologically related to either Bruce and Damian or one of the other batboys? The Mansons attempting to use that to their advantage and enhance their public image.
Either by spouting false praises and lying about being in Danny's corner while interacting with Bruce and his sons, or after discovering Danny's true heritage being the ones to take him in after a bad reveal in the hopes of getting into Bruce's inner circle.
Many usually gravitate towards Vlad as the abusive foster or guardian Danny needs to be rescued from, but his best friend's snooty parents that regularly look down on him just because of the elder Fenton's antics and reputation would do just as nicely.
Just imagine the comedy gold of Jeremy and Pamela barely masking their disdain for their daughter's "troubled friend" by pretending to dote on him while in Bruce's presence during a gala. Not realizing that Bruce along with every other Wayne in attendance can see right through them and is simply humoring them as well as biding his time.
Or if angst (hopefully followed by some comfort) is more your thing maybe have Danny, still reeling from Jack and Maddy's rejection latch on to the Mansons out of desperation for an adult he can trust and start believing they've had a genuine change of heart and come to care for him despite both Sam and Ida continually telling him otherwise. Only to feel the sting of betrayal a second time when while at a gathering Bruce or one of his boys approaches and tells him the Mansons are just using him to get in their good graces then show proof when Danny tries to deny it.

To Fail and to Succeed
AO3
Graphic depictions of death, descriptions of the sounds and smell of someone dying via electricity, don't read if u can't handle it. Take care of urself.
~~~~~~
Bruce was about to start falling asleep standing up, he could tell.
This couple had just talked nonstop for five hours about something that didn’t exist.
But he needed to act like Brucie, and Brucie needed to cement the fact that he was a frivolous idiot who would back other idiots like these ones.
His mind ached for something substantial to do, and the comm in his ear had long since fallen silent. He could tell that Dick was still there, at least; the snoring gave it away.
His other children had long since gotten bored and, after two hours of impressions and making fun of the Drs Fenton, had wandered off.
“-And that’s why our Portal is a guaranteed way to explore other dimensions!” Maddie cut into his thoughts, startling him to the extent that he had to put conscious effort not to tense up and dodge away from her proximity.
“You also get to skip that annoying airfare!” Jack worthlessly concluded, slapping Bruce on the back.
“Mom, Dad; you’re both on the no-fly list, remember?” Their daughter, Jasmine, the only blessedly normal one, reminded them on her way out the door. Bruce felt the involuntary sigh of relief leave him; they would not be able to legally fly to Gotham.
Thank god for small mercies.
“Oh Jazzie-pants, like that would stop us!”
Did Maddie Fenton just confess to a crime? Did that mean he could report them?
Could Bruce…go home?
“Easy B, just put up with it until after dinner and you get to come back to your usual broody cave. I’ll even ask Alfred to make you cookies.”
Damn. Dick had woken up.
Bruce grimaced and moved so his hidden camera was fully taking in the lab. One last shot before excusing himself.
“Well, this has been a very interesting-”
“Anyways the portal is ready to go now!”
And with very little fanfare, Jack Fenton slammed the power switch down and stood directly in front of the supposed interdimensional portal. Ghost Zone portal. Whatever, anyone who knew anything about dimensions knew what that thing really was.
Bruce tensed and prepared to yank the fool to safety, but…nothing.
Nothing happened.
Bruce could have cried with relief.
These two were far too scatterbrained to put their literal doctorates to use.
He instead opted for putting a hand over his still-rapidly beating heart and letting out a very small, very unnoticeable wheeze.
He’d already been lost to time once, if he had to do it again because of these two mad scientists-because that is definitely what they were and they were going on a watch list after this-he would have…
He…
Well, Bruce wasn’t sure what he would have done.
Waited for his kids or friends to get him out again and then personally apprehend the Fentons, probably.
Jack looked like he was about to cry.
Scratch that, the man was actively tearing up.
Maddie rushed over to comfort him and Bruce used their distraction to get a better look at the portal without all the background noise.
It was…surprisingly well built. There was no cable management, no safety features, and its very purpose was unhinged. Otherwise, a fairly solid build.
The Drs Fenton would definitely be on the watch list for potential villains.
All Bruce needed was for Tim to tell him how best to make sure this monstrosity never worked, but his chronically sleep-deprived son had just fallen asleep, so that would have to be put on hold.
“I’m so sorry, Mr. Wayne, but it looks like the Ghost Zone is going to have to wait,” Maddie sighed, looking just as heartbroken over it as her husband, “In the meantime, why don’t we go get some burgers. Cheer ourselves up.”
Bruce nodded along, playing up the sympathetic look and herding the couple upstairs towards the front door.
Halfway to the strange amalgamation they called their car, he stopped.
His Dad Sense, as Jason called it, was going off.
Jack and Maddie were in front of him.
Jasmine was walking down the street to do…something. Possibly library, if he remembered the layout of the city correctly.
Their son, Daniel was…
Quiet.
For all he had been bugging them to see the Portal come online, he had gone upstairs with his friends and they hadn’t heard a peep since.
Now that Bruce was thinking about it, he hadn’t even heard any footsteps running around up there.
That was Not Good.
The only time teenagers were that quiet was if they weren’t in the house to begin with, or if they were planning something they weren’t allowed to do.
Bruce would know.
He’d semi-raised enough teenagers to know.
Daniel and his friends were about to do something Stupid.
And looking at the boy’s parents, they would probably cheer him on.
“Hey, how about I meet you guys at the restaurant,” Brucie said sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck and laughing, “I just realized I should pick up some documents from the hotel! I’ll grab those and then we can get that funding underway, hey? Your inventions really are out of this world!”
“Of course, Brucie, you take your time!” Jack vigorously shook his hand, almost yanking Bruce’s entire body off the ground.
Was the man a meta?
“We’ll meet you at Nasty Burger!” Maddie called, revving the engine of that…thing.
Bruce stayed out long enough to wave at them as they drove away and ran over multiple streetlights-why did they have drivers licenses-before diving for the front door and rushing in as quickly as he could.
Through the living room, down to the left, onto the basement stairs and-
-no.
Why were teenagers like this!?
“B?”
Daniel Fenton was dressed in only a hazmat suit, one designed for chemical exposure and not anything else, and was walking into the highly electrified metal arch.
“B, get him out of there!”
Bruce was already leaping over the railing, landing on a table and scattering the glassware. Daniel’s friends, Samantha and Tucker, bolted away from him, taking the phone they had been using to record their stupid stunt with them.
He ignored them.
“Daniel James Fenton!” The boy’s name was ripped from his mouth, voice in full Batman mode, before he even had time to think.
Daniel jumped.
Daniel turned around too quickly for his own two feet.
Daniel tripped.
Daniel fell.
Daniel reached out to stabilize himself.
Bruce was two steps away.
Then the world went Green.
Bruce couldn’t hear what Dick was saying as his body soared through the air and landed hard against the opposite wall.
What he could hear was the unending screams of a child being electrified to death.
He shakily pushed himself up, ignoring the pain from the probable concussion, and forced himself to stand.
The air was thick with smoke, and Bruce gagged when the smell hit him.
Pork roast.
Burning plastic.
The sickly-sweet scent of rot.
“-uce! Bruce! Are you okay?! I’m sending-”
Bruce was not okay.
Bruce could not string together a plan, and Daniel was still screaming.
If Daniel could still scream, then it meant that Daniel was still alive.
Bruce didn’t think, for once.
He charged forward, stuck his hands into the Lazarus Green portal, grabbed what he assumed was Daniel, and pulled.
First through the portal were the arms he was clutching, followed by a head of glowing white hair, and, finally, the rest of the boy.
It was Daniel, Bruce was sure. Same body build, same face, just different colors.
It would be fine.
Barry had survived his lab accident, Daniel would too.
He had to keep telling himself it would be fine, or his brain would shove him back to Ethiopia; with the same smells and the same smoke and a different dead child.
~~~~~~
Danny felt himself being yanked out of the pain, through the green, and laid on the floor of his parent’s lab.
He took his time, shivering and twitching as he hyperventilated. Whatever had just happened to him, he didn’t need to come back to himself until absolutely necessary.
He swore he could still feel the electricity burrowing under his skin, crawling up his spine, and-
-He didn’t want to think about that anymore.
Danny just wanted to go to bed.
Or play video games.
Or get a hug.
Danny could really go for a hug.
The shivering was dying down, and the twitching had almost stopped.
One more minute and he was starting to get his breathing under control too.
Opening his eyes, the first thing Danny saw was Mr. Wayne, crouched in front of him, talking to someone Danny couldn’t see, and looking over Danny with glowing, iridescent green eyes.
“Daniel, can you hear me now?”
Danny nodded, not trusting his voice to work.
“Good, hold on; there’s a…very specialized medical team who need to look you over.”
Oh, no.
Danny decided it was time to tell his voice to suck it up.
“Don’t-don’t tell my parents!”
Mr. Wayne paused, staring down at him incredulously.
“Are you joking?”
Wow, Mr. Wayne sounded a lot like Sam when he was pissed.
Time to butter him up.
“No. I’m not. By the way, Mr. Wayne, whoever told you that the uh, white streak was a good look for you definitely deserves a raise! Totally! Also I swear I won’t tell anyone you’re a meta.”
Mr. Wayne froze, staggered up, and turned to look at the mirror next to Sam and Tucker.
They looked horrified, but they’d also just found out one of the richest men in the world’s deepest secret, so Danny couldn’t blame them.
Then Mr. Wayne let out a strangled sound, and Danny knew his attempt to butter the man up had failed.
“No, it’s fine. Dick. Dick, it’s fine. Stop panicking. Please, I can’t…deal. With that. I’ll go for a check up on the way back.”
Also Mr. Wayne had an imaginary friend.
Stupid.
Danny should have complimented the imaginary friend too.
“Danny, dude, what?”
Danny turned to look at Tucker, only to lean away from the tears on his Best Friends face.
“Danny. Danny? Danny, I think you’re dead,” Sam whispered, the closed off look on her face when the world became too much.
“He’s not-”
“No I’m not-”
He paused in time with Mr. Wayne, who suddenly looked very concerned and glanced over at his parent’s stupid project.
Danny thought the concern wasn’t warranted.
“I’m not dead, look, I have a pulse and ev..ery…” Danny frowned, pushing his fingers against his jugular harder.
Nothing.
Hand over chest?
Nothing.
Wait, when was the last time he breathed after the panic attack?
He couldn’t remember.
“...Mr. Wayne,” Danny whispered, staring at the only adult in the room and hoping he could help, “Where’s my pulse?”

Sumi's Fic Recs
I've been saving a list of fan fiction I like for years now and thought I should share it!
Fandoms include Danny Phantom, DPxDC, Batman, DCMK, BNHA, and Miraculous Ladybug, Legend of Zelda (Linked Universe), Mob Psycho 100, and Genshin Impact. Links, summaries, and comments under the cut.
Danny Phantom
Phantom of Truth by Haiju
NOTE: An edited/updated version of the sequel (Shadow of a Doubt) is also on AO3, but not finished. The finished, unedited version can be found on FF.net here.
Summary: Locked away in a secret government lab with Phantom as her sole object of study, nothing stands between Maddie and the truth... except, perhaps, herself.
Review: You can’t talk about Danny Phantom fanfic without bringing up Phantom of Truth. This one defines the vivisection genre. It’s written in Maddie’s perspective and you can see her character in every little detail of the writing.
Treading Water by TheFullCatastrophe
Summary: "This is the story of why we had to start calling Danny Fenton, Danny FINton. Get it, Danny? 'Cause you have FINS? Oh, I kill me." - a summary by Tucker Foley.
Review: Mermaid AU! Another classic fandom fic, this one with great worldbuilding and some dark, realistic vibes that make the ghosts (well, mermaids) really feel dangerous.
Modern Day Ghost Girl by MemoryWriter
Summary: Wendy Manson, 14-year old freshman in Casper High. Recently she's been able to sense ghosts, and on the day Wendy's paranormal curiosity gets the best of her, her project partner and ex-best friend Shane happens to follow her. When she meets a mysterious ghost in the abandoned apartment, what of her identity will she be discovering?
Review: One of the first fics I ever read, so it holds a special place in my heart.
Outside Looking In by Ellen_Brand
Summary: Casper High's new psychiatrist has some interesting interviews ahead of him.
Review: A great outside perspective into Danny. Also I just like Cade!
Phantom’s Sketchbook by AkoyaMizuno
Summary: Mr. Lancer finds himself in an unparalleled situation, he has access to something which can give him incredible insight into the personal workings of Amity Park's local ghost teen hero, Danny Phantom.
Review: Another fandom classic! A must read for the student/teacher relationship between Mr. Lancer and Danny.
You Should Be Dead by SapphireDragon11
Summary: Dash and Kwan are horrified to discover they've accidentally killed their classmate, but perhaps even more so when he shows up at school the next day. With his secret on the line, Danny soon discovers Dash and Kwan are the least of his worries.
Review: An epic story of Danny going up against incredible odds! One of my absolute favorites!
DPxDC
But I Want to Be Let In, Not Out by TheWritingOwl
NOTE: Actually a series of one-shots!
Summary: Growing up with the Fentons, Danny resigned himself to the fact that he would never see Damian again. However, when he gets summoned to Gotham after becoming the Ghost King, he finds himself reuniting with his long lost twin.
Review: Some nice demon twins au with batfam elements- all the stuff I like in a DPxDC fic.
close enough to be whole again by hailsatanacab
Summary: “If you ever find yourself in danger, go to Bruce Wayne. He will help you.”     His mother had loved him, in her own way. If she hadn’t, she wouldn’t have helped him escape. If she hadn’t, she would have dragged him back to the League of Assassins, to Grandfather. If she hadn’t, he’d be dead.     She loved him, but she loved the League more.     Jack and Maddie Fenton loved him too, they did, but they loved their work more.     They loved their work more.     --     After his parents react poorly to his reveal, Danny escapes to the only person he thinks can help him - Bruce Wayne. He doesn't know what to expect when he gets there, but it has to be better than where he is, surely? He certainly doesn't expect to be reunited with his long lost twin brother Damian. It's funny how things work out that way.     Danny is 16 years old, not Phantom Planet compliant
Review: More angsty demon twins AU with secret identity shenanigans, what’s no to love?
Recognized by AgentIanLegend
Summary: When they heard the fateful words "Recognized: Robin - B01," nothing could have prepared them for the web of secrets which would unravel as Daniel Fenton and Richard Grayson search for answers.
Review: An epic story will all kinds of twists and turns. Very will written with great pacing and tight storytelling!
Batman
hand in unloveable hand (a chokehold) by britishparty
Summary: Tim Drake is eleven years old when he’s grabbed off the streets of Bristol while he’s on his way home. It will be okay, he tells himself: they’ll call his parents, and they’ll pay the ransom, and he’ll get to go home.
There are pictures of Batman and Robin on the camera he was carrying. A lot of pictures.
They don’t call his parents. They call Black Mask.
- or: the one where Black Mask kidnaps Tim and tries to groom him into a ruthless heir, and Tim tries to figure out how to destroy him from the inside out.
Review: Tim is great in this. This one is full of scheming and mind games and all that good stuff.
From When He Sprang by WereDog15
Summary: January 2012. For the last four years, Jason Todd has been living on the streets of Gotham, doing whatever he can in order to survive on his own. But one night, as he emerges from his dwelling in Gotham’s underground tunnels, he encounters the legendary dynamic duo of Batman and Robin.A little bit of help can go a long way, but Jason's world is ripped apart as he is unintentionally put in the path of one of the deadliest secret societies that the world has ever known.Discover the story of the event that changed their lives forever, and put Jason on the path to becoming the second Robin.
Review: THIS FIC. It’s creative, it’s dark, it’s gory - this one makes me feel like I’m back in middle school reading The Hunger Games for the first time. This fic does not pull any punches.
Liminal Spaces by Calamityjim
NOTE: A multi-part series with some extra one-shots too
Summary: Bruce's habit of collecting strays is not limited by dimension. Or When Young Justice Batman comes across an angsty, seemingly abandoned by his Batman Tim Drake, he decides to step up to the plate and parent the crap out of him.
Review: Oh this one is a long, epic story with all kinds of twists and turns. And lots and lots of emotional batfam moments.
A Gentlekid Thief by Blazonix
Summary: Tim didn't mean to become the notorious thief Red X; it just sort of happened. Just like how he somehow wound up being Batman’s greatest nemesis - his therapist. He would like to remind whatever higher forces are out there that he is still only 12.
Review: Funny and clever!
From the Shadows by Wolfsbanesparks
NOTE: Shazam crossover
Summary: All Billy Batson wanted was to survive a particularly rough week living on the streets of Fawcett City. The last thing he was looking for was a new family. All Bruce Wayne wanted was to learn a bit more about his upbeat teammate under the guise of official Wayne Enterprises business. But he could never turn his back on a child in need. Especially one as surrounded by mystery as Billy. OR   Billy gets adopted by the Batfamily while trying to deal with a strong magical enemy.
Review: I’m always a fan of gen fic that also has an overarching story and great villain!
Shutterbye by katiesparks
Summary: The more I research it, the more I know it has to be true. Dick Grayson is Robin. And that means Bruce Wayne is Batman. All the pieces fit. I move my Dick and Bruce Wayne things into the Batman and Robin box and buy an extra lock for it.
Review: One-shot written from a young Tim’s perspective. The writing style really brings his character to life.
Surveillance by smilebackwards
NOTE: A multi part series
Summary: Tim knows antagonizing Lex Luthor wasn’t exactly his safest move but the point is really driven home by the bullet to the shoulder. Or: The AU where Jason never died and Tim is a civilian who contributes to crime fighting by taking surveillance photos and leaving them on the desktop of the Batcomputer.
Review: Gotta love some ‘stalker Tim gets involved in hero stuff without actually wearing a cape’ stuff.
Detective Conan & Magic Kaito
(Don’t) Believe What You Know by discordiansamba
NOTE: This fic is actually a rewrite, buuuuuut I saved the older, longer version if you want to read that one instead. Available here (I just copy and pasted it, so formatting may be a little weird)
Summary: For as long as he's known him, Hattori Heiji has always seemed to gotten mixed up in cases with a sort of... supernatural touch. Honestly, Conan's never thought much of it- it's not as if the things that go bump in the night are actually real, and they've got countless cases behind them to prove just that.But after getting mixed up in a strange case in Osaka and learning a disturbing secret from Heiji's past, its left Conan wondering if there's more his friend isn't telling him. So he does what any good detective would- investigate.He's just... not sure he was ready for the answers.
Review: I am a huge of discordiansamba’s writing! It very descriptive and the stories tend to have a lot of interesting moving parts. This fic in particular is great for its worldbuilding and the magical, dangerous adventures Heiji gets involved in. And Heiji trying to hide stuff from Conan always makes for some good tension.
Blood and Snow by discordiansamba
Summary: Heiji Hattori has never believed in the supernatural. Things like vampires have always been a bunch of nonsense to him. But the supernatural is about to prove itself very real.
Review: If you like the last one, you’ll like this one too – another supernatural adventure focusing on Heiji!
Unprofessional Opinion by Ellen_Brand
Summary: A series of psychologicalpersonality profiles of our boys... with guest shrink Cade Maboroshi!
Review: I just like Cade! And an outsider’s perspective is always fun, especially in this writing style.
The Case of the Magic Bullet Murder by MirrorandImage
NOTE: Technically a sequel, but I didn’t read the first one and wasn’t lost. There’s also a third fic that’s good too!
Summary: As always Conan stumbles across another body; and this time the prime suspect is this high school kid named Kuroba Kaito. Sequel to The Case of the Hidden Epidemic.
Review: We get to see Conan interact with Kaito, and that always makes for fun secret identity shenanigans. And we even get to see Kaito get involved in solving a case!
Insanity, Apparently by Taliya
NOTE: A series of one shots
Summary: Takagi Wataru would like to register a complaint to whichever deity thought it would be hilarious to toss him into odd situations with Kaitou KID. Repeatedly. Because this was far beyond his pay grade.
Review: A fun story with a mix of characters you don’t see very often.
Be a Better Me by Lisa_Telramor
Summary: Kaito thought that the Robot Incident ended with the destruction of his copycat robot. He couldn't have guessed how wrong that assumption was when he is injured months later.
Review: Wonderfully angsty and doesn’t shy away from the horror of Kaito’s new reality.
Guide you home by Tobina
NOTE: Uses Guide & Sentinel tropes, which I’d never heard of before but I guess it used to be popular in fanfic in the 90’s? Basically Sentinels have superpowers and Guides help them control it. The two tend to be lifelong partners, but it can be romantic or familial or platonic.
Summary: As a Level 5s Sentinel and skillful detective, Kudou Shinichi helps the Tokyo Police Department whenever they get stuck with a case, his Guide Ran at his side to ground him when needed. After a KID heist, it becomes clear that Guides are dissapearing and Shinichi and his western counterpart Hattori Heiji are knee-deep into the case, especially because this one hits far too close to home for comfort. When then even phantom thief Kaitou KID gets involved, things are bound to get... interesting.
Review: A GREAT story that does a good job with worldbuilding and characters’ relationships. While it focuses on Conan, my favorite part of this fic is the arc the Kaito goes through and the way this story takes a look at his motivations and moral compass.
It's Raining Men, Hallelujah by Asuka Kureru
Summary: Conan already has some kind of corpse magnet power, but when Heiji is in his orbit the corpses actively come to them. From above. Witness.
Review: A fandom classic! Short and hilarious.
Inconceivable by joisbishmyoga
Summary: In the face of a DNA analysis Kaito can't deny, he begins uncovering the rest of his family's secrets. Too bad he's not the only one looking.
Review: An epic story that has a takedown of the Black Org AND twin AU, what’s not to love?
Secrets in Indigo by Sinnatious
Summary: A throwaway comment about Kaitou KID’s eye colour sets Kaito on an uncomfortable path of discovery.
Review: I can’t give too many spoilers! An overall great story with great writing as Kaito discovers secrets and also tries to keep them hidden.
The Young Royals of Deduction by joisbishmyoga
NOTE: One shot
Summary: The Exclusive Interview with Four Children Taking the Investigative World by Storm
Review: Short but fun!
My Hero Academia
The Thin Gray Line by A_ToastToTheOutcasts
Summary: The beauty of the era of quirks wasn't the amazing abilities; it was that nobody sane would even entertain the thought that Kuroko, the most wanted vigilante in all of Japan, was Quirkless.
Review: A vigilante AU with a badass Deku (or, in this case, Kuroko) who puts the whole Hero Commisison to shame. The rivalry between Deku and Bakugou is so intense in this fic, I love it.
Yesterday Upon the Stair by PitViperOfDoom
Notes: When you’re done with this, there’s also a fun related one-shot by another author called U.A. Unsolved by kabukichou (ameliafromafairytale)
Summary: Midoriya Izuku has always been written off as weird. As if it's not bad enough to be the quirkless weakling, he has to be the weird quirkless weakling on top of it. But truthfully, the "weird" part is the only part that's accurate. He's determined not to be a weakling, and in spite of what it says on paper, he's not actually quirkless. Even before meeting All-Might and taking on the power of One For All, Izuku isn't quirkless. Not that anyone would believe it if he told them.
Review: An epic story full of secrets and ghosts!
Hero Class Civil Warfare by RogueDruid (Icarius51)
Summary: Heroes lead by Bakugo. Villains lead by Midoriya. Seven days prep time. Three days for Izuku Midoriya to show why they should be glad he's not a real villain.
Review: Badass Deku going all out and scaring his classmates. This one uses nearly every character from class 1-A and 1-B and manages to make everyone have an impact on the story!
Tales of the Jade Mantis by Chess_Blackfyre
NOTE: A multi-part series
Summary: The adventures of Inko Midoriya, Number One Vigilante in all of Japan, and her complicated relationship with the Number One Hero, All Might. However, it's not all about kicking butt and taking names, watch as the telekinetic in the leather jacket struggles with things like brutal mentors, working in customer service, and trying to be a good single parent.
Review: The only fic I’ve found with Inko as a vigilante! Quite the journey, this one goes over her career as a vigilante and what comes after when Izuku suddenly has a quirk. I love the weird adventures Inko gets up to and the interesting people she meets. One of my all time favorites!
Monochrome Skies by QuantumPoint
Summary: Midoriya Izuku died four years ago. Midoriya Izuku dead in a housefire when his mother didn’t notice him come home early. Midoriya Izuku dead because heroes failed to hear the screams of a scared child. Midoriya Izuku dead alone and scared.His mother mourned him but went on with her life. The heroes swore to be better, but still made the same mistakes. And for four years, everyone believed he was until Aizawa caught sight of a well-known vigilante and decided to investigate. Everyone believed it until Yagi bumped into a kind child on the street and tried to give him hope.
Review: I can’t say much because spoilers, but if you’re an artist, read this.
brilliant lights will cease to burn (by my hands i’ll reignite them) by novalotypo
NOTE: It’s a Card Captor Sakura crossover, but honestly I’ve never seen that and as far as I can tell this doesn’t have much to so with that show. It’s BNHA characters and world with some Card Captor magic elements.
Summary: Midoriya Izuku is quirkless. This, he knows very well.This is also what he knows:Weekends and vacations are reserved for walking neighborhood dogs. The elderly are the most powerful people on Earth. Local gods are picky eaters. Trust is a feeble, feeble thing. Magic cards are incredibly difficult to seal, especially when the world thinks you're a vigilante. Heroes are not magicians, but magicians can be heroes.Becoming a cardcaptor wasn't on Izuku's bucket list, but he'll be damned if he doesn't make the best out of it.
Review: Deku doesn’t have a quirk, so he gets sucked up into some magical card captor responsibilities and goes all out, as he does. This one has an analytical Deku, otherworldly magic, creepy villains, and some tension between a vigilante Deku and hero society as a whole. One of my absolute favorites!
Quirk: Knife! by brightredwings
Summary: Izuku Midoriya is unlucky, to say the least and life hasn't exactly been kind. Things weren't so bad in the beginning, but once he was diagnosed quirkless, well, it all went to shit. Everyone grew to hate him, even his best friend and own father.Was it really that impossible to become a hero without a quirk? It doesn't really matter because to Izuku, the term hero is flexible. He'll be his own hero because he's learnt from his own experience, people are selfish and the only one he can rely on is himself.Left alone to fend for himself in the world, Izuku goes out to change things on his own terms, despite his methods being slightly illegal. Keyword, slightly. It's only illegal if he gets caught, right?
Review: A long story with great arcs for a lot of League of Villains character, and a beautiful ending. Some pretty intense angst with happy endings for everyone.
Roses are red and they taste like shit by Unbreakable_Red_Riot
Summary: Katsuki was really fucking sick of the smell of flowers.
Review: Ah, yes, KiriBaku with hanhaki disease. Mostly from Bakugou’s point of view, so you get to see all his frustration and a ton of drama. Also looks into some other characters like Midoriya and Todoroki, which is a nice touch.
The Beauty of a Beast by starofgems
Summary: Once upon a time a lonely beast lived in a manor deep in the forest. He dreamed of the day his true love appeared to break his curse... When a beauty finally appears in his life, it is not quite as he imagined. For who could have thought a beauty would be more of a beast. Or The beauty and the beast AU nobody asked for but here it is.
Review: A very sweet love story. (KiriBaku)
The Deaf Hero: Deku by BeyondTheClouds777
Summary: His whole life, Izuku was told that he couldn’t do it. That he should give up while he still had the chance. That someone like him—Deaf, Quirkless—could never become a hero.But Izuku wasn’t going to give up. Not now and not ever. (OR, the one where nearly everything's the same, but Izuku is Deaf.)
Review: Right what it says on the tin. Deku’s added deafness creates more tension between Deku and Bakugou, his classmates, and even other heroes. Things get angsty but Deku always stays determined, which I love.
Miraculous Ladybug
Where Have All The Heroes Gone and Where Are All The Gods? by Anthemyst
NOTE: This is actually part 5 of a series, but I just started with this one and didn’t feel lost. Just know that in this story, Gabirel isn’t Hawkmoth. Most of this was written before Season 1 ended, I think.
Summary: On their fourteenth birthday, the Agreste triplets' world is turned upside down. Their government has been overthrown, their city taken, and superheroes all over Europe have suddenly and mysteriously vanished-including, to their shock, their parents. They'll need to work together, and become the heroes Paris needs, if they're going to save both their parents and their country.
Review: A next-gen fic that got me into ML fanfic in general! It’s got a fun dystopian vibe and the Agreste kids are all fleshed out very nicely. One of my absolute favorites!
Not A Bit by CaptainOzone
Summary: "Sometimes, being a brother is even better than being a superhero," says author Marc Brown. Félix Agreste has been both, and he can't have said it better himself. (AKA The Brothers AU I wanted to read but had to write myself when I realized this AU has a depressing lack of fic to its name)
Review: I’m always a fan of fic that has Marinette and Adrien AND Felix and Bridgette.
Legend of Zelda (Linked Universe)
Looking for Group by Tashilover
Summary: People want to be a Hero so badly, they're willing to bribe, lie, cheat, and beg. Twilight knows there's a Hero amongst the people in this college town. It's just a matter of finding them.
Review: The modern setting keeps things fresh, yet this story is still full of legends, danger, and a fight of good vs evil!
Mob Psycho 100
tomorrow isn’t always another day by suitablyskippy
NOTE: One shot
Summary: It’s like Reigen’s been waiting for the question. He stops dead on the pavement, grips Mob by the shoulders, and stares down into his eyes with an expression as haunted as though every ghost the pair of them has ever exorcised has taken up residence behind it. “Mob,” he says. “Mob,” he says again. “Tell me, Mob. Look at me and tell me. Tell me truthfully. Do I look cursed to you?”Mob looks at him, and tells him truthfully. “No.”“Well, you didn’t look very long,” says Reigen. “Let’s just stand here for a moment, like so, and you can have another look, a nice long look, and really think about it...” (There's nothing strange about being called back to exorcise the same haunted photocopier six days in a row. It must just be a very haunted photocopier.)
Review: THIS WHOLE CONEPT IS HILARIOUS
Genshin Impact
Traveler’s search for Scaramouche by Scuriel
NOTE: A choose your own adventure story!
Summary: Ei wants Traveler to search for Scaramouche and get back her gnosis. They have many decisions to make along the way.
Review: Don’t see something like this very often! There are actually a lot of different outcomes.

Dpdc Danny adopted by Bruce Wayne is so funny to me bc theirs a decent list of CANON characters with waaay more right to Danny than Bruce Wayne.
Alicia Fenton Maddie's cousin
Jazz if Danny's 16 bc she would then be 18.
Vlad Masters, a rich family friend with the ability to possess people would likely win custody over a stranger.
Tucker's parents. I'm sure his best friend since like elementary schools parents would take him in.
Dani on the other hand is a mad scientists experiment with no relatives other than said mad scientist and a 14-year-old boy. She has no one to take care of her, no life experience, and no legal paper work. RIGHT THERES AN ADOPTABLE KID.

Seeds of the Father
Chapter 3
{Read on AO3} {Chapter 2}
Don't Underestimate the Power of a Planted Seed
Danny shut off his alarm clock with a groan and sat up in bed. He didn't bother calculating how little sleep he had gotten. Between Skulker hunting him for most of the night and studying for finals, he already knew it wasn't much. He checked his phone and cleared any notifications. A text from Tucker, reminding him to bring his notes for calculus, and a Tweet from Bruce Wayne about some benefit he's hosting over the weekend.
He thought it was weird to follow his brother and father on social media, but Jazz said it was good to find connections with family even when you couldn't be there with them. Jazz was usually right about these things.
Danny packed his backpack and headed down the stairs. Jack and Maddie were at the table, a selection of cereals and milk set out for breakfast.
"Morning, Danno!" Jack said. "Want to see our latest invention? I call it the Fenton Ectoplasm Disrupter!" He said, holding the cube-shaped object up. "One hit of the red button will neutralize any ectoplasmic entity in a ten-block radius!"
"It's not functional yet, but hopefully in the next few days we'll get it working," Maddie said.
"That's great," Danny said tightly. That thing would never work if he had anything to say about it. Danny's phone pinged in his pocket and he checked it quickly. It was a selfie of Dani flying above the Gateway Arch. It had only been a few months since she had been stabilized, but they had kept in constant contact just in case anything happened. "I have to get to school."
"Right. Last day of Junior year. I can't believe my little boy is growing up so fast." Maddie said, pinching his cheeks before giving him a tight hug. "Knock 'em dead, honey."
"I'll do my best, mom," Danny said, returning the hug. He jogged out the door and up the street towards the school. He met up with Tucker and Sam outside his locker and handed over his calculus notes to his friend.
"You are a lifesaver." He said, flipping the notebook open to the right page and starting to study.
"How are you failing math when you take the best notes?" Sam asked, glancing over Tucker's shoulder.
"Because ghosts keep eating my homework," Danny said, stashing his lunch in his locker and grabbing his English book. "Are you ready for the English final? Because I am not. I keep getting William Wordsworth and William Blake mixed up."
"Fenton!" Dash Baxter's voice echoed down the hallway, causing everyone to stop and stare. Dash used his broad shoulders to push his way through the hallway until he was right in front of Danny, trapping him against the lockers with his bulk. "I'm going on a vacation to Europe for a month, so I gotta get a month's worth of bullying in before school ends today. You're first on my list."
"Maybe I can be last on your list," Danny suggested. "And you can grow up. Seriously. Aren't we too old for this game?"
Dash's cheeks turned a ruddy red. Instead of backing off, he reared back and took a swing. Danny dodged to the side at the last second and Dash's fist crashed into the locker behind him with a resounding clang. Dash howled and clutched his hand to his chest.
"Oo, that didn't sound good. You may want to get that looked at," Danny said. Kwan came up behind Dash and guided him to the office while Dash shouted curses back toward Danny.
"Danny," Sam said reproachfully
"What was I supposed to do? Let him hit me?"
Sam sighed "We need to get to class."
Classes passed quickly, and Danny was excited about the summer he had planned. He had gotten into a summer space camp that prepares prospective students for work in aerospace engineering. It had been a grueling interview and application process that had taken up most of his time not spent at school or ghost fighting.
His good mood started to tank when he glanced out the window during his English final and saw the shadows, two of them on the roof of the building across the street. He'd recognize the League of Assassins anywhere, which means Grandfather found him. This was bad. This was one of his worst nightmares.
"Mr. Fenton, I can assure you that the answers to the test are not out the window," Mr. Lancer said quietly, snapping Danny's attention back to the classroom.
"Right. Just thinking." Danny said, turning back to his test. When he looked back toward the window, the shadows were gone.
***
Danny practically sprinted to the courtyard after class. He had to find Sam and Tucker and get them somewhere safe. He had no illusions that Grandfather didn't already know about them. He had to assume the worst.
"Danny!" Tucker called, holding three sack lunches. "They have the peanut butter and honey sandwiches you like!"
"Tuck, where's Sam?" Danny scanned the courtyard but couldn't find her.
"Last I checked she was arguing with the lunch ladies about whether or not honey was vegan," Tuck said. "Is something wrong?"
Danny scanned the surrounding buildings until…there, in the alley between the bank and the pharmacy. Two shadows that didn't belong.
"We have to get to my place."
"Can you believe they don't have any alternatives to honey?" Sam asked as she stomped over. She froze at the heavy feeling in the air. "What's going on?"
"It's not safe here. We have to go." Danny said and grabbed his two best friends by the hand and pulled them along behind him to Sam's car. It was an old hearse that they had found after a battle with Technus. The three of them had spent so much time fixing it up and painting it purple and black. They playfully called it The Corpse Mobile.
They all piled in and Sam started driving. "Do you want to tell us what's going on?" Sam ventured after they pulled out of the parking lot.
Danny kept his gaze on the dark spaces between buildings and on the roofs. "You know I'm adopted, right? And the family I came from…wasn't the best." Sam and Tucker both went stiff at that. Danny never spoke of his past with them. He wasn't intentionally keeping it from them, it was just never the right time to tell his friends that he's a trained assassin with a double-digit body count. "I've been hiding from them, and they found me."
"In hiding, like witness protection?" Sam asked. "Is that why you're so weird about photos of you on the internet?"
"Something like witness protection. And yes. Grandfather has some of the best connections in the world, so the less proof of me out there the better.
"How did he find you?" Sam asked as they pulled into Danny's neighborhood.
"Park around the back," Danny instructed. "I don't know, but I do know that you aren't safe. Grandfather has no issues hurting people to get what he wants."
Sam parked the car and Danny phased through the door. They used the secret tunnel entrance to the lab, startling Jack and Maddie.
"Danny! What are you doing using the emergency entrance?" Maddie said and Danny picked himself up.
"Grandfather found us," Danny said, crossing to the computer banks.
Maddie froze for a second before coming back to herself. Her demeanor completely changed. "You're sure." She asked, switching to Arabic.
"Yes. I have seen five of his assassins in the last hour." Danny responded in kind. "Tucker, can you hack into the city surveillance grid?"
"In my sleep," Tucker said, glad for something that made sense. Within a few minutes, cameras from all over town popped up on the screens. Immediately Danny counted twenty assassins.
"There's so many of them." Maddie breathed.
"Those look like ninjas," Sam said. "Your grandfather sent ninjas after you?"
"They aren't very good If we caught them on camera." Jack boomed.
"It's a scare tactic," Danny said.
"They want us to see them. To get scared and give up hope before the fight starts."
"What do they want?" Danny wondered out loud.
"You, right?" Sam asked, "I mean, he'd want you back, you're his grandson."
"The last time I saw him he ordered my death. He'd kill me before looking at me. It's something else." Danny cast his eyes around the lab before they fell on the swirling green of "the portal. He's here for the portal."
"Of course he is." Maddie said bitterly. "Damn. Right as we were making some headway."
"Mads? What are you doing?" Jack asked as Maddie plugged a data stick into the computer.
"We have to shut it down. Father can not get his hands on our technology. Danny, Sam, and Tucker, I need you three to destroy as many physical blueprints as you can find. Tear them up, burn them, whatever. Jack, I need you to dismantle as many of the weapons as you can and put the cores in a duffle bag."
"Mads. This is our life's work." Jack said. Danny had already pulled a box of blueprints out of a cabinet and had started a fire in one of the decontamination sinks.
"I know, honey. But if Ra's Al Ghul gets access to our tech he will be unstoppable."
"But, we won't have anything."
"We'll have each other and the kids. Everything else is material." At that Jack nodded and went to the weapons wall and started dismantling guns.
It was fifteen minutes later that they heard the front door open and close again before a shaky scared voice called. "Mom? Dad?"
They all met eyes. "Jazz." Danny was first up the steps, and there in the living room, stood a man he hadn't seen in years. He looked just as Danny remembered him, right down to the green robe and the slight scent of cardamom and ginger to cover the stench of rot. He had Jazz held against his chest and a knife pressed against her neck. Danny felt his blood begin to boil.
"Ah. Danyal. I was wondering where you had disappeared off to." Grandfather spoke. "I can see you are just as much a disappointment now as you have always been. I've had my men on you for weeks and you never noticed."
"Grandfather." Danny greeted and had to stop himself from bowing his head to the man. A move that was not lost on the older man as his frown became dangerous. "Put the knife down."
Behind him, Danny heard the ever-present hum of the portal stop. Good. No portal access for Ra's unless he can get someone to turn it back on again. Danny heard Maddie's steps coming up from the basement.
"Father. Let go of Jazz." She said as she came into the living room.
"Adeline. You haven't changed at all. Still running your experiments, I see." He said, nodding toward Danny. Maddie stiffened beside him, but Ra's continued. "A scientific mind like yours probably couldn't resist the allure. A subject no one would notice went missing? Who was already supposed to be dead? How could you say no?"
"Mom, what is he talking about?" Danny asked, a pit forming in his stomach. It couldn't be.
"I never did any experiments on my children." She denied.
"No? Did you know, hafid, that Adeline used to take animals and inject them with water from the pit, just to see what would happen?" Ra's said, he finally moved the knife away from Jazz's throat and let her go. She stumbled over and Maddie caught her before she fell. No need for a hostage now. "Much of our understanding of the properties of the pit comes from her experimentation."
"And I used to play a game to see who can torture someone to death the longest." He spat. "What's your point?"
Ra's smiled as if he had been waiting for the question. "Are you sure your accident was an accident?"
A weight dropped into his stomach and ice flooded his veins. "No." He let himself go boneless and fell to his hands and knees. "It's not true!" Danny put his head on his arms and phased one hand through the floor. He gripped the hidden ectogun and shot up faster than the human eye could track. The shot landed square in his Grandfather's chest. It wasn't enough to knock him out, but it did stun him long enough to get into the basement and lock the door. Jack was at the top of the stairs and leaned his bulk against it.
"I'll hold him, you guys get out." He said.
"That won't stop him for long," Maddie said. "Danny, he's after you. You need to take your friends and Jazz and get out of town unseen."
"Unseen? But I…"
"Danny," Maddie said seriously. "I know about Phantom. I've known since Pariah Dark." She hugged him. "I am so proud of you." She let him go and went to get a hazardous waste bag.
"Mrs. F, we can't just leave, what about our parents?" Tucker said.
"I'll figure something out." There was a banging on the door to the basement. "Now, there isn't much time, no phones, no cards, in the bag." Danny sent a text to Dani letting her know he'd be radio silent for a while before taking out the sim card and snapping it in half and putting the ruined card and phone into the bag. Sam and Jazz followed suit, but Tucker took a moment to say goodbye to Sinead first.
"He's stronger than he looks," Jack called from the top of the stairs.
Danny crossed to a blank section of wall and reached his arm through and pulled out two black duffel bags and tossed them over his shoulder. The basement door was splintering. They didn't have much time.
"Danny." Maddie held up a third duffle bag and a data stick. "This is all that is left of our research. Use it well."
Danny took them. "Okay. I will." Maddie grabbed an ectogun and turned toward the door.
"Now go. Don't let Father win." She said, aiming at the door.
Danny transformed and grabbed his friends and his sister and rose out of the house and into the backyard. They piled into the hearse and Sam started driving. Danny used all his concentration to make them invisible so he wouldn't have to think about how he just abandoned his mom and dad to their fate.

Sending the Nightingales and Crows to Meet the Bats and Robins

hmmm . . . which one shall I choose . . . .
Ah.
So we all know the fentons aren't the best parents right. And it's basically fanon-canon (i don't remember the difference anymore) that their house is so ecto-contaminated the food comes alive, right?
So the idea was after food comes alive at some meal, the elder fentons start their "GHOSTS ARE EVIL AND SHOULD BE DESTROYED" tangent. And midway through said tangent Danny-no-filter-Fenton points out "you guys realize that with all the ambient ectoplasm hanging around this house, we're all at least 1/4 ghost already, right?". Cue shocked silence from elder fentons, as No, they did not realize that. And since we all know they have wierd connections from their college days, they phone up an old friend (Because no, Jack, we're not putting them within 20 feet of Vlad, and no one else will return our calls) and next thing Jazz and Danny know, they're dumped off on a doorstep for the summer while Jack and Maddie de-contaminate the house.
Who is this mysterious college friend?
The one and only Bruce Wayne.
Please ignore the fact that absolutely everything I know about dc past vague knowledge comes from dc x dp fanfics. I know. Hence why it hasn't been written until I have more knowledge.
