A piece of an actual rubber Goodyear tire from one of the older US productions, assumingly Broadway considering the origins of where I obtained it from.

Is it part of the magical, flying tire that Old Deuteronomy sits on? It could be! It could also be a set piece.

Judging by the drill holes close to the center of the tire, I can assume that something screwed over top of this, but it could be just to secure it to the set, considering it weighs 18 pounds!

The side cross profile shows off that it was made exactly how an oversized tire would be, complete with the steel cords inside for structural integrity.

I love finding a way to collect some of the more odd parts of the musical, and an actual, heavyweight tire is something special!

Favorite Platoria moment from the show last night?

Ugggghhfffff there were so many and I was so pleased to be in the audience for the magic that was all of those Platoria interactions.

They are so fucking in love my peeps.

Firstly, I have to say that I absolutely adored Yuka as Victoria. She was just perfect. I would be willing to say that she has completely usurped the top spot of my fave Vic. Her mannerisms and style was so exceptionally graceful and pure like any Victoria should be. The way she acted was exactly in line with how I feel the character would be as well. I was so, so impressed and happy with her. The best part was how much she seemed to be enjoying herself. Yuka spend the entire show smiling and it melted my heart. She is freaking precious.

Sam did great as Plato too, and he certainly gave the impression of a character who loves and is devoted to his little love. The look of adoration in his eyes every time he saw Vic was how I would be honestly. She is his everything.

They were constantly slinking up to one another and sharing smiles and touches as they sat together, or giving looks across the stage. There was so much warmth and fondness in their moments.

Anyway, without going on and on about it, my favourite Platoria moment without a doubt is the lead up to the pas de deux during the Jellicle Ball and then the pas de deux itself.

It is like the world falls away and they are the only two cats that matter. In a way, that is what happens, as in the fervor of the jellicle ball they find one another and stay in the center of the stage. I am not sure if it was just feeling of it, but their dance together leading up to the lift seemed to stretch on longer than I guess I realize it does, but I am not complaining at all. Their time together, the way they regard one another, their touches, their smiles, and the way Plato lifts Vic is all based on so much love and care.

These parts are essentially my favourite part of the musical depending on how I am feeling, but Sam and Yuka made it even more compelling. I am going to mention it again, but the way they both smiled and how excited they seemed when they danced with one another during the lead up to the lift was impeccable and I am not normal about how much it makes me happy.

They were so great together, and I am still riding the high from seeing them.

ACT I

Jellicle Songs For Jellicle Cats

Phenomenal! I was impressed during this whole song!

Everything was just *chef’s kiss*

Naming Of Cats

This song is such a better experience live

I wish they would’ve went out into the aisles during this song, but alas, they did not

Invitation To The Jellicle

Hyla was just so amazing as Victoria and I could not keep my eyes off her during the whole show

Paul Giarratano was spectacular as Mistoffelees and was so extra ✨

Gumbie Cat

Nick Davis was absolutely fantastic

I CANNOT GET OVER THE TAP DANCING! IT WAS SO COOL!

Rum Tum Tugger

JUST OH MY GOSH I JUST ADORED THIS PERFORMANCE

ZACH WAS SO GREAT AND HE GAVE AMAZING ENERGY! I WAS SO GLAD I WAS ABLE TO SEE HIM BEFORE HE LEFT THE TOUR

Grizabella’s Entrance

Tayler Harris was so great as Grizabella

Lauren Louis’s Voice was so pretty

Bustopher Jones

I just love Bustopher Jones and it was absolutely perfect here

I remember my sister whispered to me at the start of the song, “James Corden”

Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer

It was just so fun

Max Craven and Allison Lian were just outstanding

Old Deuteronomy

Nick and Zach’s singing was so good

When Victoria when up closer to the left before Deuteronomy’s entrance 🥺

Jellicle Ball

The Macavity scare was really cool

The dancing was so crazy amazing and I was in awe the whole time

I thought it was really cool seeing Grizabella trying to like copy their movements behind them

Memory

The singing was just so phenomenal

ACT II

Moments of Happiness

Brianna Kim was absolutely excellent as Sillabub

Gus: The Theater Cat

John Anker Bow and Kayli Jamison performed this song so well

The whole audience would laugh at all the funny parts which just the song feel so joyous

Pekes and the Pollicles

I thought it was really fun to watch

Skimbleshanks

Christopher Salvaggio was so good as Skimbleshanks and he had great energy

Seeing the train get built was so fucking cool

Macavity

The singing was so unbelievably good and it was just one big wow moment

Macavity like hypnotizing the Jellicles was so cool

The fight was so amazing to see

Magical Mr Mistoffelees

WOW WOW WOW IT WAS SO COOL

Zach Bravo’s vocals were so on point and wondeful

Paul Giarratano’s dancing was so so so incredible

Seeing the lights move around the stage was so beautiful to watch

Memory

I don’t even have the words to describe just how amazing it was

I have never felt such an emotional connection to this song until now

Journey to the Heaviside Layer

It was so beautiful with the tire being raised

I did cry

Indalecio De Jesus Valentin had such a gorgeous voice

Just realised that in broadway revival/US Tour 6 that in 'The Gumbie Cat' the lighting is like day and night or something and she's all tired out in the daytime and all energetic during the night
