Copepod
“Copepods of various species. Photos were taken using a Biolam R-11 microscope. For photography, the dark field method was combined with polarization. Thanks to polarizing microscopy, the glow of muscle stripes in the bodies of some crustaceans is visible. Each photo is the result of panoramic shooting and focus stacking.” - via Wikimedia Commons (original description translated from Russian using Google Translate)

dude HOW are you always getting the best concert spots. how many hours do you have to wait there?????
…a lot of hours
For bleached today we ended up getting there earlier than we planned just by accident. Doors opened at 12, we got into line around 10:30am so we were at the very front. Once doors opened we ran to the stage lovejoy was gonna be at and took up barrier spots and held them all the way to 6:45pm when Lovejoy performed
We had a whole group so we were able to take turns leaving the barrier to get food and use the bathroom while holding each others places
This was minor compared to the proper gigs I’ve been to tho. For the SD gig in may I got there around 6 am and doors opened at 7pm you have to be a little insane 😭 tbh queueing is fun tho I have a great time just hanging out with people in line so that’s why I do it :)

Cyclopses (Cyclops spp.)
Family: Cyclops Family (Cyclopidae)
IUCN Conservation Status: Unassessed
Like the mythical creature from which they take their name, the members of the genus Cyclops (tiny freshwater-dwelling crustaceans growing to be around 0.5-5mm in length) are unusual among animals in that they have only one eye, which is compound and can be either black or red depending on the species, and is used along with their four highly sensitive antennae to locate food (mainly dead plant matter, single-celled organisms and smaller invertebrates such as water fleas) and avoid predators (such as mosquitofishes and barbels.) Found in stagnant or slow-moving water on every continent except Antarctica, Cyclops species swim jerkily forward by beating their ten tiny legs against the water and live for only around 3 months, although when faced with adverse conditions they can survive for prolonged periods in a dormant state by producing a thick coat of mucus to avoid dehydration. Cyclops species breed during the summer (with an increase in water temperature triggering their reproduction,) and following mating females produce a clutch of around 45 eggs which they carry in a pair of pouch-like structures on the underside of their body until they hatch. Under normal circumstances Cyclops pose no threat to humans, but if accidentally ingested through the drinking of the water they inhabit they have the potential to pass numerous species of parasites (particularly nematodes, some species of which such as the solely human-targeting Dracunculus medinensis rely entirely on Cyclops species as intermediate hosts) to animals that swallow them.

sunstone i know you're not a fan and i wanna know ur thoughts on them gimme
Why don’t you ship it?
i see suns as not functioning at all for being romantically involved with someone like pebbles, they fail over and over again to understand his signs and how his emotions and logic work. but also i imagine suns would view pebbles as just the guy theyre trying to help, and at most the feelings would be one sided on pebbles with him looking up to suns but they would be uncomfortable about it.
also sunstone fans are fucking annoying sometimes ill just be honest . the mischaracterization is abhorrent
What would have made you like it?
i have no idea . maybe not mischaracterizing them ? maybe having it not be mutual im too interested in that idea. but also suns feels so unfit for someone like pebbles...
Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?
it can be interesting and have good depth if its one sided and played for the emotional conflict . but ig if its one sided there isnt much of a relation(ship) of the romantic variety to begin with
