I know Neil has confirmed that Aziraphale didn't know Crowley was living in his car.
So I really want to know why he thought THE PLANTS were living in Crowley's car. Does he think Crowley has just taken to driving them around London with him all the time, just...because?
watching good omens with someone who is watching for the first time and just for fun is an insane experience. what do you mean you can just laugh at crowley shouting at his plants without having a mental breakdown because you realize he is projecting on them and is actually deeply traumatized?
AS I PROMISED DURING THE 10KHAOS, HERE THEY ARE, GOOD OMENS FANDOM AND MY MAGGOTS. FROM LEFT TO RIGHT, ADAM AND AZIRAPHALE (SPIDER PLANTS) AND CROWLEY (SNAKE PLANT).
I PLAYED THEM QUEEN MUSIC TODAY SO THEY'D GROW WELL. I AM A TERRIFIED PLANT PARENT WHO IS NO GOOD AT THIS, BUT I HOPE THEY MAKE IT WITH THE POWER OF QUEEN AND LOVE.
SAY HELLO TO THEM AND SEND THEM LOVE PLEASE APPARENTLY TALKING TO THEM HELPS SO I'M JUST READING OUT ALL THE KIND THINGS EVERYONE'S SAID ABOUT THEM.
For no particular reason, here's a rundown of the plants Crowley keeps in his Bentley:
Calathea Lancifolia
also known as a Rattlesnake plant
Monstera Deliciosa
the ever popular Swiss Cheese plant
Apidistra Elatior
this one is a guess, lots of house plants have leaves that shape.
Ficus Lyrata
also known as a Fiddle Leaf Fig. Crowley's specimen here is tiny, these can grow huge
Ficus Elastica
also known as a Rubber Tree
Kind of hard to tell because we see so little of it, but my guess would be Calathea Corona
What does that tell us about Crowley's taste in house plants?
They're all fairly common and popular choices, certainly not designer or collector's pieces.
They're all varying degrees of finicky to keep alive, and I suspect none would appreciate living in a cramped cardboard box inside a car (looking at you calatheas, no wonder one of them has started to go crispy).
It's very much giving 2010's Pinterest board aesthetic.
In conclusion: Crowley is a basic bitch (affectionate)
Here's the completed work✨ (a little bit of angst for you~)
• Master Crowley is back home •
Crowley's plants point of view after the burning bookshop scene in season 1, when Crowley thought that someone killed Aziraphale and tries to cope with his grief. I was wondering about the plants' point of view, because I think Crowley really care about them and viceversa.
ps. I had to say that I enjoyed very much drawing this, because I've always had issues in painting plants but I'm pretty much satisfied with it now💚
Imagine Crowley getting drunk and coming out to his car to sleep it off (can't be bothered to miracle it away) and crying to his plants about everything.
Imagine his plants feel sorry for him and stay nice and green and healthy to cheer him up without being yelled at.
Imagine he slumps back to have a snooze and one of his plants just drapes its leaves down as if to comfort him be like, "It's alright, you've still got us."
The plants are a key character in Good Omens. Just as the Bentley. We've often wondered why Crowley is so attached to his plants. I think I may have an idea.
Let's start with what type of plants are they?
Here we see at least 3 types of plants.
The ones that Aziraphale carries I first confused them with something else, but @drconstellation pointed out (thanks) they are monstera and snake plant. Crowley carries three types - decorative fig, ficus (fig again) and scindapsus (devil's ivy).
Snake plant and monstera - their names speak for themselves.
This is the snake plant (for those who don't know it)
And the monstera.
Figs are a really interesting choice, tho. (the two tallest ones in Crowley's box). They bring all kinds of meaning and are also mentioned in the Bible.
This I find really interesting because of the scene with Crowley and Muriel in Heaven. He described angels as bees and Muriel described him as a hornet.
And this "if the fig is destroyed, the fig wasp won't survive". Is this somehow related to Crowley's obsession with these plants?
Unisexual flowers?
And here are other interesting things:
And the other plant is the scindapsus. (the smallest one on the left in Crowley's box) I didn't find that much information about it, but this is also interesting, because its other name is devil's ivy.
EDIT!!!
Thanks to @paperbunny I realized that what I thought is scindapsus may actually be dieffenbachia, which is a poisonous plant again type of a snake plant. And my mom actually almost lost her eye because of this plant. A piece of it landed in her eye and she couldn't see and she was operated. Her eye healed and she is okay now, so this plant is really dangerous.
This is it for now, but I'll make another post with more info on plants in s2, but not about Crowley's.
I don't know if there really is something, but who knows...
Note: I am not a plant person and some of you pointed out my mistakes and I updated the post to be correct. Thanks to @paperbunny @drconstellation and @speikobrarote.
hey, first of all i just want to thank all of you for this blog. secondly - do you guys have suggestions of fics in which aziraphale gifts crowley with a new plant?
Hello and you're welcome! You may be interested in this post, featuring fics in which Aziraphale gives Crowley flowers. Here are a couple more in which he gives him a plant...

Aziraphale receives a gift from Crowley.
Phalaenopsis Equestris Alba by Sitamun (NR)
A gift of an orchid expresses admiration for the beauty of the recipient. The orchid also stands for longing, passion and fertility, which is why it is a popular gift, especially among lovers.
Although the orchid is available in a wide variety of colours, the meaning remains the same. Only the white orchid has an extended symbolism. It stands for purity and conveys a special elegance and grace.

It's the first Christmas since the Apocalypse-that-wasn't and Aziraphale decides that this year he wants to gift Crowley a new houseplant. Crowley can't possibly treat this plant as he treats his others, which leads to realisations and confessions.
This is just super fluff tbh, although I may add an extra chapter of just smut at some point. First chapter is Aziraphale buying and gifting the plant, second chapter is Crowley being conflicted over said plant, and third chapter is the big one.

“A Dear John letter!” Crowley was telling him, voice slurring. “Can you believe that? The nerve. Six-thoussssand years and that’s how it ends?”
They’d moved to the sofa, Aziraphale’s pot tucked into the crook of Crowley’s arm as he sprawled across it with one leg up over the back cushions. Every so often a bit of good scotch splashed onto Aziraphale’s leaves. Not as enjoyable to drink as a plant, it turned out.
[Another fill for the GO Kink Meme prompt: Aziraphale accidentally turns into a plant and Crowley adopts him.]

One of the things he loves about Crowley, Aziraphale had thought once, is that there are always new things to learn about him.
Aziraphale sees Crowley's treatment of his plants and decides to give him a gift.
Did you check out the plants as Crowley gave them back to Aziraphale in s2? I’m not a plant expert, but I’m pretty sure one of them had a spot.
I know Neil loves details but it was so minor and barely noticeable that I’m not sure. There were the plants that looked like they were just built different, but there was a separate one I could have sworn was lightly brown or damaged.
I have a headcanon that when Aziraphale is practicing his magic show Crowley plays one member of the audience and his plants are the rest of the audience
february is crowley themed I don't make the rules.
Maggotss hello it's the mascot here, thank you for your suggestions of things that are Crowley-coded (everything) I have started making my bullet journal for the month and got as far as the cover page. My month themes are sacred to me so, well, you can see how obsessed I've become. Thanks, everyone. The post with all the crowley suggestions in the replies, in case anyone wants to see it, is linked here.
And voila the cover page! Haven't properly done art/design in a while I better get back in practice this is meant to be my job not being a resident dumbass. Oops. Here's Crowley's snakey eyes and the trembling plant.
