I think Chuuya is just desperate and lonely. He’s a great character who is extremely loyal, but that loyalty also serves as his biggest flaw. He worries about Dazai and cares about their relation ship even when they are on different sides, and he’ll do anything people ask him too. Even back when he was with the Sheep, even after being betrayed he trued to protect the kids. There had to have been something when he was a kid that caused him to get attached to people so much. We know he spent the first part of his life in a dark cage, and he tries to figure out his past, and when he teams with Dazai a different side of him shows. Mori once said that as strong as Chuuya is he is only the opening act. It’s like he’s the best friend in the movies who’s only there for the sake of the story and he realizes this, and knowing this he tries to please everyone around him.

Was there something that Chuuya had to deal with that caused him to have trouble leaving people behind?
