something i'm doing with my year: spending 3 months in an intensive boxing fight camp that i signed up for on a whim! i'm brand new at boxing but in 3 months it won't look like it. this year is about getting stronger and meaner and butcher.

the fight camp leads up to a big vegas-style fight in august, and part of the deal is to raise money for the boxing gym's ongoing free programs for kids and frontline workers in the downtown eastside.

vancouver is a funny city. i say funny sardonically. it's a deeply sad city; our downtown is laid out in such a way that some of the nicest most expensive coolest neighborhoods (places where rent for a 1 bed apartment is $3000+, places where you go out for $20 cocktails) are entwined with the alleys and streets of the DTES, the epicenter of canada's ongoing opium epidemic. once every couple months the cops will raid and tear down a tent city in one of the parks - and across the street from that park will be a michelin-nodded $100/head modern-hip-fine-dining restaurant. my boxing gym is in one of these neighborhoods, and they do the real active hard work of engaging with their community, creating space, giving people social bonds and passion and things to work towards. fighting is about anger, but its also about body, and hard work, and instincts, and understanding the bodies and hard work and instincts of the people around you.

I know everyone’s mad at Aziraphale right now because of how the season’s ended but I don’t think we’ve talked enough about the fact that Aziraphale has been keeping a diary for centuries (based on the fact the entry we see is from volume 603) and he literally starts his entries with “dear diary, last month Crowley and I both happened to be in Edinburgh”.

#currently having a crisis because my cousin who is 4 days younger than me is having a baby #they have been together for less than a year and now his girlfriend is pregnant and i'm loosing my mind #like we were in the hospital together as babies and did everything after that together until the 5th grade #and after that we still had the same group of friends and have until now #and now he is having a baby #kind of insane #they told my grandma today and showed her the ultrasound picture and i can't wait to see her tomorrow #she's gonna have a strong opinion about it and it could go either way lmao #anyway #dear diary and all that #personal #ramblings

Thinking about late night trio, it’s insane how deeply they love each other. like it’s hard to put into words the special bond they share as siblings and best friends. Pomme would do anything to protect them, Dapper would do the same, Richas literally said they are one of the reasons he’s happy to still be living. they talk about each other & mention each other in their writings constantly, even ooc they always hang out in dms, in vc, they have inside jokes which they bring into character. it’s so nice that they were able to meet, like…. that’s a french mexican & brazilian egg <3

and it’s sweet how the three quickly took in Pepito as their baby sibling. Richas already did, but a bond had also been forming between Pepito & Pomme and Pepito & Dapper. what really proved it though was that night all 4 stayed up having a sleepover together and Dapper made them breakfast :’)

Someone tell me why I'm in between catching up on 10 different television series many of them quite excellent, but the only thing I want to post about is Tay saying "Gun's not into gaming, so when New and I play videogames he teases us for attention and we have to include him so OBVIOUSLY we kiss back!!!" and "Gun is like this with Off too but he sees him all the time so he misses us more and when he sees us we HAVE to sniff each other" and Tay and New saying "we were raised differently than Gun [very rich subtext here] but he likes skinship and now that he's part of our gang we've all changed and we all like skinship" and Tay saying "we've been this way for 10 years, fan scolding may stress out a younger group of acting friends and convince them to keep their distance but you're not going to change us, we're like this and we're going to stay like this"
