i headcanon dazai to have a pretty decent amount of scars under his bandages, self-inflicted or otherwise, so if he had a s/o who had lots of scars or stretch marks, he would be extremely supportive. esp beauty marks!!!! this man loves beauty marks tells you how even though it’s a permanent score of your bad experiences, it also paints a breathtaking picture of the person you are. in a way it’s also healing for himself, reassurance that if you, the person he loves dearly, have marks on their body, then his don’t have to be inherently bad either maybe you feel self-conscious about showing more skin during the summer, he’s so encouraging, tells you how proud he is of you for wearing that tank top you’ve had for ages

most days, especially in the winter, you forget about your scars. coats and jeans covering any permanent discoloration or texture variation on your body. they’re not something you actively think about, it’s not like you see them every day, and even if you do, it’s not for very long. you no longer get a stinging feeling when your shirt brushes against the scars across your chest. the blood has long dried up.

but, with melting snow comes sweltering heat. heat that makes your usual ensemble of sweaters and thick jeans, not an option this morning.

the agency had decided to take advantage of the warmth in the spring air and have a picnic. of course, you were excited, the agency was your family, and time with them was always time well spent. the only problem was what you were going to wear…

dazai has watched you come in and out of the bathroom almost four times this morning. switching between breathable and overly modest clothing every time. but even from inside your dorm with the blinds closed and the fan blowing on max, the heat was terrible.

you start to head back to the closet on your fourth attempt, inevitably picking another outfit too warm for the summer months, only to have your ankle grabbed by the sloth-like creature lying on the floor that you called your boyfriend.

“hey!” you laugh out, almost tripping before finding your balance and joining dazai on the floor. you sit criss-cross-applesauce in front of him as he emerges from your futon. you show a genuine smile as he yawns and takes your hands in his.

he wears a soft smile as he looks at you, his amazing partner, so capable, so attractive.

“can you just wear what you have on so we can leave already?” he says, kinda bossy, mostly annoyed. you were supposed to leave half an hour ago, he’s probably starving at this point.

“sorry, sorry… let me just put on what i was already wearing,” you say, starting to push yourself up off the floor.

again, dazai drags you back down to the floor with him, this time clutching you to his chest from behind and seating you in his lap. “nah, s’too hot for that,” he slurs his words as he pushes his face deeper into your neck. you squirm a little from the close proximity, not sure what to do with your body.

if you were being honest though, a part of you was anxious about where his hands would wander, as they usually did. you were currently dressed in shorts and a tank top, something you usually wouldn’t be caught dead in. even behind closed doors you opted to cover most of your skin, to your boyfriend’s dismay. so to say dazai was happy to see more of you in broad daylight was an understatement.

he had seen your scars before, but only once or twice, in the dead of night, with no one else around. they were fond memories of his. the first time was when you two weren’t dating but you certainly weren't just friends either. you had been pretty severely injured but you refused any kind of help. that was, until dazai walked you to your dorm and insisted he bandage you up stating that he’s “a professional at this point.”

he remembers how even though he found you very attractive and had probably thought about you with your shirt off in a different context, there was nothing even remotely sensual about that night. he didn’t ask any questions about your scars until you were dating, and even then, he was never pushy about it. the second time he’d seen your scars, it was very late, and you’d both had a few drinks. you both started asking questions about each other’s pasts and you both answered them as honestly as you could. you showed him your scars, and he showed you his.

dazai thinks about that night now, as he holds you close and traces a light finger across a particularly large gash on your shoulder, half covered by your top and the rest peaking out for anyone to see and ponder the origin.

”you told me you wanted to be more confident in your body right?” he asks you in a gentle voice, pressing a light kiss into your exposed shoulder blade. “yes…” you whisper back, fidgeting with your fingers as you’re suddenly much too aware of how much skin is showing.

“then this is a perfect start. you know everyone will be nothing but supportive.” he pauses to kiss your cheek before saying, “you really are your own worst enemy sometimes, you know that?”

his words had a twinge of harshness to them, but you knew he was right. not to mention there was no way you would enjoy yourself drenched in sweat.

you turn to face him in his lap and rest your head on his shoulder, which he gladly cradles. “i know you’re right.. it’s just hard y’know?” you start absentmindedly picking at the bandages peaking out of his sleeves. yeah, he does know.

“nothing my y/n can’t handle hm?”

you take a few breaths, enjoying the proximity. if only other people knew how sweet he could be.

“yeah, you’re right.” you sigh and sit up straight, parting from him with a kiss on his nose as you pull yourself up. he whines from the loss of contact but follows shortly after you.

you take one last pass by the mirror and push past your reservations. dazai was right, these people love and support you no matter what, you know that. what better direction to step out of your comfort zone than that?

yourusername tonight was a very special night for the hughes family, a family i’m proud to say has become my own. tonight, my favorite little brother, my favorite (for tonight) son, and one of my best friends whom i love so dearly had his nhl debut tonight and i couldn’t be more proud of him!

i remember sitting with you at jack’s draft and telling you, “that’ll be you next!” i sat in the stands during your games back when you were in elementary school and i remember you running straight to me after your team won post losing a few games in a row. you told me that you’d win for me next game i went to; and you did! you ran right past jim and ellen and shouted, “sissy, i told you i’d win for you!” i’m crying writing this out but it was too pure to not share during this moment. you won for me tonight, too, bubs❤️

i’ve seen you annihilate the collegiate hockey world, and now i get to watch you do the same in the nhl. it was a privilege to sit in those stands tonight and watch you take your solo rookie lap, and i hope you know how hard i cried over it. we’ve been waiting for this day since the day i met you all. i was there for quinn’s debut, i was there for jack’s, but being there for yours is a memory that beats them all. maybe it’s because i feel like a proud older sister and i’m younger than the other two, or maybe it’s because of how good our bond is. whatever it is, i will never stop being proud of you. you’re going to be golden, lukey moosey, and i hope you’re excited for it. i love you so much!

Happy New Year!

As the year draws itself to a close, I would offer my own semi-✨inebriated✨ reflections. I have drank, and when I drink, I drink.

2023: 2020-me, a year of an adventure, reflection and reignition being the theme.

This year, I have:

Concluded a parenting milestone, my body once again becoming my own.

Lost a whopping 30kgs (67lbs for my American friends).

Involved myself in fandom (thank you, August for OPLA).

Found myself again, and enjoyed who I have become.

Fallen in love again.

Made friends that are exclusively my own: no connection via work, children or husband - purely my own for once in 7 years

So I'm not in the Harrow fandom but like, what would happen if he met Henry (or Eddie because I'm biased w my boys) or Jack?

Harrow is a crime show from what I can tell?

Just curious what your thoughts are.

*for my other moots and followers, this is about Henry Creel from Stranger Things, not Henry Morgan from Forever (though I love both Henry’s very dearly).

okay, a little background for my beloved Doctor Daniel Harrow (played by the one and only Ioan Gruffudd)

Doctor Harrow is the main protagonist of a series called Harrow, and he’s a talented pathologist who’s… well, highly stubborn, so he doesn’t follow the rules and always does things his own way. he can be reckless and arrogant, some people call him selfish (also a pain in the ass) but in a good way, and he’s a good person. (he’s also extremely gorgeous it’s insane.)

so basically in the show, we often see Harrow conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of each body’s death. except that sometimes (most of the times) Harrow does more than his job description says, and goes out of his way to investigate things by himself if he suspects a foul play was involved. and he’s always right and basically he’s the one who solves crimes with his stubbornness and recklessness and also his talent.

I love this show so so very much. it’s so very good, one of the best shows I’ve ever watched, and it means so much to me (and I need a season 4).

now back to your ask! I call it a sign because a crossover between Harrow and Henry Creel is actually something I’d been thinking about writing for like a couple of months now. then I got your ask and I was like ‘now this is a sign. I really have to write it into existence!’.

so here it is: a modern age AU Stranger Things where Henry and Harrow met!

anyway, I think, if we’re talking about canon Stranger Things, I think Harrow would never be okay with Henry’s actions, what he did (the massacre, which, for the sake of the plot, never happened in the crossover fic I wrote). he would never condone the abuse Henry went through, but that didn’t mean he’d think the massacre Henry committed in canon could ever be justified.

I mean… I don’t know, that didn’t mean Harrow wouldn’t understand either (understanding something =/= condoning or justifying something). because, in the series, Harrow himself also had his own dark secrets that he had to hide. so I think… Harrow would understand why young Henry felt the need to kill his parents. but adult Henry who murdered those kids in canon? yeah, I think that would be another story.

from how I see it, if Harrow could, he would have done anything and everything to stop adult Henry from hurting innocent people. that meant either he or Henry would end up dead, because Henry would have to kill him first if he wanted to go ahead and hurt those innocent people.

however, Harrow also had the tendency to do anything and everything to protect the people that he loved. so I think it would depend on who Henry was to Harrow. if Henry wasn’t a friend, then I think Harrow would stop at nothing until he stopped Henry (and yes, that meant either Henry killed him or he killed Henry). but if they were friends, then I think that would be where things got complicated. because while, in canon, Harrow used to break laws to protect people he cared about, what adult Henry did was still something I really don’t think Harrow could ever accept or condone. so, even if they were friends, I think Harrow would still do anything in his power to stop Henry. he would hope he could stop him by putting him behind bars so that Henry was at least alive and so that Harrow could try to help him walk the right path, but if his hands were tied and if stopping Henry meant killing Henry, I think Harrow would probably go with it still, only because he didn’t have any other choice. and then he’d probably blame himself, thinking maybe if he’d done something differently he could have saved Henry. but basically Harrow would end up with yet another lifelong trauma.

(good thing is that the angst isn’t this severe in that crossover fic I wrote, so don’t worry, they’re both okay there!)

moving on to Eddie Munson. if Harrow met Eddie, oh I think that would be interesting and nope, it wouldn’t be anywhere as angsty as his meeting with Henry, that was for sure.

I think Harrow would see Eddie as a son, and Eddie would see Harrow as a father figure of sorts, a role model even.

in the show, Harrow did (almost) have a troubled son whom he looked after. I think if he met Eddie and if Eddie had a rough childhood, was somewhat troubled, then Harrow would step in and look after him.

As for Jack Sparrow, I think these two would probably find each other annoying at first. But after some rum, I believe they would be some sorts of a chaotic duo who caused shenanigans together.

Harrow and Jack are actually alike in several ways in my opinion: both are stubborn, reckless and Harrow sure can be mischievous.

so yes, him and Jack together would be hella fun.

ALL OF Y’ALL, ALL 12K OF Y’ALL. like, y’all have made this blog so much fun and so exciting to log in and just to write or even just to talk, to just have stupid little convos about crazy little things and get horny on main about characters ( mostly over getō – aka the loml >:D ). and y'all made it so fun to write too, y'all did give me that motivation i’ve always needed because of y’alls encouragement and never-ending love and support, which lead us to multiple ( proud ) milestones !! and that appreciation towards my work has always made me more than happy ! so thank you so much !!! <33

1. be aware of your surroundings!! This year, I've struggled so much with my mental health. After times of repeatedly putting myself at the bottom of the ladder, this new year, my resolution is to take care of myself.

I don't think this would have been possible if it weren't for you. I suck at human interactions, so meeting you-- my lovely mutuals-- was like a dream come true to me. You're more than little boxes on a screen, you are my friends, and I couldn't be more grateful.
