I know traditionally when people write Kokichi with despair disease they make it so he can’t lie, since opposites and all. But I honestly think making him overly trusting would be better or more interesting?
Because think about it: Kokichi is the kind of character who’s excessively paranoid and has trust issues for days. While a lot of his lying is just compulsive at least some of it is as a result of him not trusting others.
Also Kokichi does have a capacity for direct honesty, we see it a couple of times. He doesn’t use it unless he feels it’s absolutely necessary but he can be honest. What he can’t do is fully trust someone else. Even in the hanger with Kaito (arguably the moment he trusted someone the most) he still has nearly complete control over the situation, he even gives Kaito a guide to follow for after he’s dead.
I just think a Kokichi who genuinely trusts everyone and who is gullible would be really fascinating as a despair disease concept. It also has angst potential both because being trusting means he’s more likely to be honest and because he could end up revealing parts of his plan.

what would souda and gundham reaction would be if Sonia never mind is a blackend
Well truthfully if Sonia was a blackened I don’t think it’s likely both of those two would have made it to the trial lol. They’re the characters closest to her so narratively at least one of them would probably be the victim, either on purpose or accidentally. Like I could definitely see her manipulating Kazuichi into killing someone for her and then killing him herself (very Celesta Ludenburge of her lol), or if it was some despair disease related thing she may go after Gundham herself.
I don’t think either boy would willingly believe Sonia was the culprit in either case and would probably defend her in the trial, and then be devastated when they learned the real truth.
I did once do a little animation with the premise of Sonia being the one with the remembering disease and thus the chapter 3 blackend lol, so that’s what these are from

Dangandoodles (mostly naegamigiri, ramblings of a crazy man under the cut)
Ok so I was hit with a jimmy neutron brain blast and it went “what if despair disease but dr1” and was instantly slammed in the face with “Naegi gets the same flavor as Nagito cause luck boys except Naegi does not handle it well”
I don’t care about canon fuck canon Naegi actually has two talents and one of them is shsl house husband (I don’t know much about v3 but Shuichi Saihara is the naegamigiri kid in my head and my heart)
That one vine yknow. Let Naegi be a little shit he just got sent to his own death. (Also I love how if you get the bad ending alter ego just lets Kirigiri die lmao) also a what if Naegi fell badly when he went post execution dumpster diving. Mans trapped under a very real very desk shaped desk.
Steal your gf’s clothes!! Do it!! Her fit is yours now!!

HI HI HI
I have a request <33
How would Kokichi react to his GN! S/O catching the despair desease and being extremely clingy to everyone except him???
I don't know why I just thinked about it lol, have a great day!
Kokichi x Gender Neutral S/O with Despair Disease:
"Shuichi...Don't leave....Please..."
You hugged Shuichi's arm desperately, your face flushed from sickness.
You had caught the despair disease, which left you with the sudden urge to cling to everyone, except-
Shuichi reddened, "W-What about Kokichi? He..."
"I'm okay...Don't leave Shuichi..."
"Oi! Sidekick! I'll take care of them, kay?"
Kaito pulled you off Shuichi, enveloping you in his coat while Shuichi went to get some sleep.
"Kaito...Stay please..."
He rubbed your back, "Don't worry, I-
The door opened, making Kaito laugh, "I think you're making someone jealous..."
At the door was a very annoyed Kokichi, trying not to look annoyed.
He wasn't someone who got upset easily, but even he was stung seeing you cling to everyone but him.
"Y/N, I know you're sick, but you gotta stop it okay~?"
He tried to pull you off Kaito, but you refused to move.
Kaito grinned, "Sorry, it seems they aren't moving."
"Y/N, don't be stupid...I'm yours, you know? You don't have to take pity on Kaito."
"Hey! Don't push your jealousy on me!"
Kokichi growled, "I am not jealous! Not!"
Kokichi sighed, seeing Kaito smirk like that made him even more annoyed.
"If you really love em', do something about it."
"...Fine."
Kokichi was being more patient than usual, you thought...Was it because you were sick?
"Y/N?"
"What?"
"Look at me, kay?"
Still clinging to Kaito's arm, you looked at Kokichi.
He gave you a smile, you really loved his smile.
"C'mon Y/N...I'll hold you forever, kay? Wanna give it a try...?"
You glanced at him, even in your fever, Kokichi somehow seemed comforting.
You had a feeling you felt like that before, before you were sick with something that made you want to avoid him.
"Is that a lie?"
"Nope! Just for a few seconds, kay?"
Kaito winked, "Go on, why not?"
Shaking a bit, you broke away from Kaito, and fell into Kokichi's arms.
He hugged you tightly, and you felt yourself relax for the first time.
"So tired..."
You sunk into his shoulder.
"Y/N? Let's move to the couch, kay?"
"Don't...Want to move..."
Kokichi picked you up in a sweeping motion, and layed you on the sofa.
"Y/N..."
He brushed the bangs from your eyes, and sat next to you.
"Try to rest, kay? I'll keep you safe, or is that a lie?"
You closed your eyes softly, falling asleep to the sound of his voice.

you can't tell me that
if the despair disease went to Danganronpa 1 and togami got it,
it would be childish disease or whatever
he would act 5 and cling onto naegi, since he's the only person that actually cares about his health,
+Kirigiri who is kinda on and off about it

Can a Danganronpa story really be a Dangaronpa story without anyone getting horribly killed? Okay, so there’s Danganronpa IF … but "I DISAGREE: An Ibuki Mioda SDR2 Protag Swap AU" isn’t like that! It may be an alternative take on one of the games, but characters will still suffer and perish. After a whole bunch of entries to get the plot moving, here’s the lead-up to the first victim of this storyline.
What Ails You is What Impales You: The Killing Game’s First Victim
Last time, I spoke highly of the students who volunteer to treat the infected. Fuyuhiko drops his combativeness to be a true team player. Hajime, who can’t even remember his talent, finds ways to make himself useful. Byakuya demonstrates true leadership by working alongside everyone instead of just supervising. Ibuki brings a contagious zeal to labor during the day and downtime during the evening. Mikan especially steps up as the leading medical authority, overseeing patient care while also investigating the Despair Disease.
Unfortunately, all their skills and efforts aren’t enough to stop the illness from worsening. For one, they’re not in a proper hospital. Their only supplies come from Rocketpunch Market, whose sundry selection means limited medical resources. For another, all they can really do is target symptoms. Much of the treatment involves urging the patients to rest, which isn’t easy. Peko’s operating on sheer inertia, refusing to exert herself for anything that doesn’t interest her. Chiaki is flat-out uncooperative, needing locks on her door and the whole staff present for each encounter. Kazuichi is actually too cooperative, eager to slay dragons or whatever heroic actions might help (his requests are denied).
Worst of all, Nagito’s health swiftly nosedives. At first he’s as energetic as Chiaki and Kazuichi, babbling conspiracy theories to (and sometimes about) anyone in earshot. His mania is soon missed: by the second morning of quarantine, he’s barely even conscious. By the third, he’s comatose. Mikan discovers some truly alarming pre-existing conditions that, in tandem with the Despair Disease, is bringing him to the brink. As the person with the most experience, she largely leaves the other patients to the other volunteers and dedicates herself to staving off his death.
Everyone’s getting worn down, and not just because of the increasingly stressful patient care. All that proximity to the patients brings up the additional concern of contagion. By the third night of quarantine (I’ve stretched the disease period longer than in SDR2 for better pacing), none of the staff seem sick yet. But if what Monokuma said is true, it’s just a matter of time. What little information Mikan’s been able to glean from research hasn’t shown them how to cure or really prevent it. If even one of them falls ill, they’ll go from relieving the burden to becoming the burden.
That’s how Mikan’s already starting to feel. The Ultimate Nurse can only do so much with such insufficient resources to save Nagito and defeat the virus. Not helping is that Monokuma suggested, without confirming one way or the other, that if a patient dies from the disease, their caretaker(s) may be held responsible ... perhaps, even, considered guilty ...
It could be worse, though. For the first time in her life, someone else actually seems to care about her. Ibuki tries her best to support the nurse, who’s so appreciative that she ends up falling asleep by her new friend’s side on that second night.
No one’s scandalized by the two walking out of the same hotel room on the third morning for long, though, after they see Nagito’s dire state. By the third night, Mikan’s on the verge of collapse herself, and with too many lives depending on her, she can’t afford to rest.
The only thing that could help is a miraculous breakthrough … but of course, as a suddenly severe Fuyuhiko reminds them on the third night, there’s always Monokuma’s solution.
On the fourth morning, Ibuki finds Mikan at her side again, snug and warm. Everyone’s first instinct is to check on Nagito. Amazingly, he’s sitting upright, gazing out the window at the hotel swimming pool. All signs point to a full recovery, with any chatter about societal collapse and living in a simulation extinguished.
The instinct to celebrate is curbed as the group realizes what such an instant reversal must mean. Everyone, including Nagito, rushes back out to the hallway. Fuyuhiko skips Kazuichi’s door, despite it being adjacent to Nagito’s room, and tosses aside the furniture blocking Peko’s door. She’s alive and serious, asking for the return of her sword. The staff had confiscated it for patient safety.
No time for that right now. Mikan opens Kazuichi’s door. He’s shaking with terror, not even able to speak - back to his old, cowardly self. Even his jumpsuit is zipped up again.
A shriek from outside the hotel isn’t quite loud enough to be heard within its halls - not for normal ears, anyway. As the others pry open the last patient’s door, Ibuki rushes out to find Hiyoko pointing at the tip of the outdoor stairway. Blood drips down the steps from the unmoving body of Chiaki Nanami. Next week, the trial.

Kuzuhina love pollen/schmexy despair disease aftermath
So a common trope we’ve all seen before is some sort of aphrodisiac/love pollen/sexy despair disease infecting our beloved sdr2 cast. I want to skip the fun stuff and talk about the consequences.
Hajime and Fuyuhiko are with each other when it happens (i’ll say this take place during chapter 3) and it causes them to get all hot and flustered and the two start making out (and more~)
((sorry I don’t know how much I can say without getting banned from tumblr))
But what about the aftermath. It would be hard to go back to normal after spontaneously having sleeping with each other. And we’re talking about Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu here! The man who stabbed himself in the stomach as a form of apology. Obviously that didn’t work out the last time, but he has to do SOMETHING…
Fuyuhiko disappears for few hours if there are still sick people or a murder to investigate, a few days if it’s free time. Hajime is too much of a tsundere to analyse why it bothers him so much being left alone afterwards. Hajime is not at all self-conscious about his body, about how Fuyuhiko felt about it. If Fuyuhiko was disgusted by having to get physical with Hajime, or if Hajime was generally unpleasant at all. Hajime is not thinking about that at all no sir.
Fuyuhiko returns and the first thing he says to Hajime is “I’ve come to take responsibility as a Kuzuryuu and as a man!!” And pops out an engagement ring. The tiny mobster bows but doesn’t get on his knees cuz he doesn’t want to appear any shorter than he already is. The engagement ring itself is either something nice he got from Monomi/Chiaki through their ‘digital powers’ or if failing that, a ring pop from the store because that was the best he could find.
Hajime’s jaw drops to the floor. There are so many concerns on his mind. Responsibility? Is that really necessary? Yes Hajime wanted to talk to Fuyuhiko about it but marriage was the last thing on his mind. What would Hajime tell his parents? How would Fuyuhiko’s parents react to this? They’re still on an island in a killing game with no way out and Fuyuhiko’s top priority is setting up a shotgun wedding???
Hajime is feeling a mixture of embarrassment, surprise, and little bit of offence since it comes across like Fuyuhiko is worried that Hajime has become “spoiled goods”. It’s not Fuyuhiko’s intention, his behaviour around this is a product of his upbringing. Hajime tries to refuse but Fuyuhiko won’t stand for it, he must restore both their honours at all cost.
Bonus: if this all happens in front of the remain students. If Ibuki is still alive she would be most excited and immediately offer to sing at their wedding. Kazuichi but be jealous that Hajime not only got laid but is also getting married (despite Hajime’s protests otherwise). Gundham might be disappointed that Fuyuhiko did not put more poetry, theatrics, gravitas into the proposal. Nagito is admiring Fuyuhiko’s conviction (though considering Nagito’s crush is kinda canon there’s definitely some mixed feelings here). Now SOMEONE, I don’t know who, maybe Sonia, maybe Ibuki, who knows, will probably theorise out loud that Fuyuhiko was the top during the two’s ‘relations’ and that’s why the blonde yakuza is taking his ‘manly role’ so seriously. Both Hajime and Fuyuhiko tell the person to shut up but don’t really refute it nyehehehehe.
And that’s all I got right before I go to bed. Enjoy this pre-sleep madness.

🎃Whumptober Day 9: “You’re a liar.” (Nagito Komaeda x Reader)🎃
Warning: 3rd Chapter Spoilers
Tumblr media
You sat in a chair next to Nagito’s bed. Nagito had been very sickly due to the 3rd motive, aka the Despair Disease. He had the Liar Disease, everything he says is the opposite of what he is actually trying to say. He had been insulting so far, but you know that he isn’t what he is saying. It had been difficult at first to know what he is actually saying, but you are getting better at it.
“Are you going to leave?”
You turn to look at Nagito, “Yes I’m staying. How you feeling?”
“Great.”
“Thought so.” You stand up as you stretch, “Maybe I should ask Nanami to bring a game console and some games to entertain us or something…there’s no TV here though…” You put your arms to your side. It was honesty pretty boring, and you fell asleep a couple of times. You look at Nagito again and notice his messy hair, “Can I brush your hair? It will probably get mess up in around a minute, but can I? You can say no if you want.”
“No.”
You pause for a few seconds and then grab a hair brush, “It might hurt so sorry in advance.” You carefully brush out his fluffy hair, asking how he is feeling every now and then. You hum a little bit.
“I hate your humming.”
“Thanks.” You continue to brush out his hair. After a few minutes you finished, “Alright it’s done. Now I wait for the work to be undone.” You chuckled to yourself. You look at the window, noticing that it is getting dark. “Damn time went by fast.” You place on the table and relax in the chair, “Get some sleep Nagito you need it, good night.”
“I hate you.”
You smile, “Love you too.”

casually thinking about the mess that would happen if Toko got the despair disease. Glad it wasn’t in THH now.
I’d rather not deal with someone already unstable having her personalities fucked up even more, thank you.
