It's wild how many people took Kristen's line of questioning as her saying Tracker isn't taking her religion seriously instead of what I heard her asking which was:

Didn't feel like walkies tonight so I finally started movement puzzles with all the dogs. 10/10 love it.

I wanna say Bree was the star. With her poor hearing and vision she needs a bit more guidance, but she was really rocking the bowl-to-bowl idea eventually. Haley was definitely like "ooh I know this, I go to this bowl and then this one" but uhhh Haley you gotta do the things between the bowls consistently too lol. As it started to click for Arthur he seemed to really like it. The nub wags harder the happier he is.

We only started with the bowls, then added a pop-up laundry basket to go around, then added a cushion to walk across. I love that you can just use what you have to set up the puzzle, in whatever space you have. I can use stools, boxes, laundry baskets, platforms, cushions, cones, chairs, whatever.

so I've told this story before, but what the hell; it's on my mind. about two years ago when I finished my Lucille park dress cosplay, I posted the pics on Instagram and a makeup artist reached out to me. she'd done some genuinely cool ghost Thomas looks, and wanted to chat about CPeak cosplay. nice! she said some very kind things about my dress. excellent!

...and then immediately segued into bashing Lucille

now, you don't have to like any character. you don't even have to like them to compliment a cosplay! "oh that looks really cool" is fine even if you despise this character unto the flaming depths of Tartarus and back! but. you probably should not start harping on about how much you despise them to someone who just put in months of work to recreate their clothing

I kept trying to redirect the conversation. she kept dragging it back to Lucille Bad. the one exchange I remember distinctly was this:

Her: this is my rabbit! Me: oh, so cute! what's their name? Her: Lucille would never let Thomas have a rabbit. she probably hates it when he's happy :(

I just. no idea. not a single clue.

this went on for a while- "he should have just left her in the asylum! she's the absolute worst!" -before I finally tried to politely ask that she not do it anymore. I figured she might not know the etiquette, so I said it was generally not appropriate to bash a character to someone cosplaying them

wrong thing to say. this touched off a rant about how "female cosplayers" were the worst (cannot emphasize enough that she was a woman exclusively posting videos of Tom Hiddleston characters SFX makeup) and I was trying to force her to the character. cue blocking. The End

...sometimes I still think about the rabbit thing, though

This is such a hyper specific ask but other therians, can you tag your police dogs? Most of the time they are just posted under "working dog" and I'll be honest, I Hate seeing cop dogs. They are used for almost nothing except violence and the history of when and why they started to be used is actually horrorifying.

Tag your police dogs, I have the tag blocked for a reason and I feel bad blocking people for something as Lil as this but idk I've seen an influx on cop dog posts.

They are incredibly triggering (to me and my general circle at least) to PoC and specifically Black folks. Police dogs have never been a cool or fun thing to our communities. /nm /srs

I have started Overall's Relaxation Protocol and I really liked this video to show me exactly how it looks before I started. I find this kind of training really difficult because it's boring and I'm impatient and I struggle with environment setups. But anyway, I started last night. It started really badly! I was trying to do all three dogs at once, which absolutely did not work. So I stopped that and took Topaz into the kitchen and did Task Set 1 with just her, which was fine.

I'm not sure if it's going to translate that well because Luca and Marceline were hovering at the babygate the whole time. I am already over it thinking about having to repeat multiple task sets in different parts of the house. My house is small and open plan so it's not easy to separate the dogs. I need to do this though because Topaz needs extra help learning to settle.
