*slaps forehead* Why has it taken me nearly 4 years to realize Patton used Just Like Heaven because he unconsciously compared it to Thomas and Remus?

The movie is literally about a man trying to ignore his problems (the ‘ghost’) until she goes away and it just keeps getting worse, but in fact she stops being a ‘problem’ when he finally starts to talk to and listen to her. Like Thomas and Remus they *gestures to all of them* they are the SAME

If the orange side does end up being anger or something similar, I would be highly satisfied. I had seen many people (myself included) come to this conclusion before the latest episode ; we'd seen clues, and it seemed logical (aha), and overall it was just... Likely.

So, would I be surprised ? No. Would I consider it very good anway ? Absolutely.

Too many creators try to "oursmart" their fans. To pull off that big "plot twist" while leaving little hints. Think of that one thing no one else thought of for the "GASP :o" effect. Except it doesn't work when 1) your fanbase is analyzing every detail and 2)the series is long and / or the episodes are far apart. We have a brain, and we have time. Of course someone is ultimately going to find out. Most likely multiple "someone"s. Changing the story only ends up with no clues making any sense and everyone being angry.

I was really glad to see they hadn't done this for Sanders Sides (the videos were already out by the time I joined the fandom, but apparently it wasn't exactly a secret that Virgil used to hang with the Others). It makes you feel so... Good. Like, that's respect and that's pretty cool. Look at me still being mad at FNAF, and laughing very loud and the PLL trainwreck for instance.

I'm always happy to be surprised of course, and if Orange turns out to be... Anthing else, I'll love it. But I'll love it if I'm not surprised, too. I'm not even afraid, the trust level I have for this team's storytelling is 100%.

You're Not Feared

Virgil couldn’t help but pace when the thought of everything that just happened played in his head.

First, Thomas hadn’t been able to sleep because of...those thoughts. Even knowing now that they were normal, it didn't ease Virgil's nerves about them.

Then, when discussing the thoughts, Remus had shown up, revealing himself to Thomas and messing with all of them.

And finally...Virgil had told Thomas he used to be a dark side. He had seen the fear in Thomas’s eyes right before he had sunk out.

And now, he was just hiding in his room like he used to before. He knew Logan and Patton would be fussing over Roman, who probably had a concussion, and he didn’t want to bring the mood down by making them all worried about him.

Besides, he wasn’t worried enough to affect Thomas yet, so he should be fine at least until Roman was better.

Before Virgil could sink deeper into his thoughts, a knock on the door startled him out of it. Virgil stopped pacing, confused as to who it could be.

It couldn’t be one of the others, as they wouldn’t knock. But wouldn’t the others be with Roman? After hesitating for a bit, Virgil went to open the door.

Virgil remembered hoping that it wasn’t one of the others as he opened the door.

And Virgil had to admit, he wasn’t expecting Logan to be at the door.

Logan seemed to sign in relief as Virgil answered the door. “Hello Virgil, I just wanted to check up on you after the episode. Patton’s busy with Roman so I figured I’d come. Can I-,” Logan paused, seeming to remember something.

If Virgil asked, he was probably going to ask to come in before remembering what happened last time. “...On second thought, it’s probably better if we talk out here.”

Virgil nodded, stepping outside, and closing on the door before leaning on it. “So what did you want to talk about Teach?”

“Virgil, I think we both know what I came to talk about.”

Virgil winced slightly, hoping he’d be able to keep up the facade for longer. “Just lay it on me, how bad is he taking it?”

“Why did you immediately assume he took it badly,” Logan asked.

“I’m not an idiot Logan,” Virgil said with a slight glare, trying to keep the hiss from his voice, “I saw the fear in his eyes as I went to sink out, he was afraid of me.”

“He was afraid of what you were, not who you are now,” Logan said.

“How are you so sure about that,” Virgil grumbled.

“After the video ended, Thomas summoned Patton and I panicked about how he reacted. I’m still honestly surprised he didn’t summon you with all his worry.”

Thomas was….worried about him?

“I just figured I should let you know,” Logan hummed. “I need to go as it’s probably not a good idea to leave Patton alone with an injured Roman for too long. You’re welcome to join us when you’re ready though.”

Virgil snorted a bit and waved to Logan as he walked off. It was good to know Thomas wasn’t afraid of him like he thought though.

It was also good Logan had come to see him, otherwise he probably would still be stuck in a spiral.

Before he could head back to his room, he heard talking from the living room and decided why not. Besides he could make fun of Roman a bit when he got there.

Patton - Innocent?

Y'know what I notice? Patton seems to mostly be portrayed as a sweet innocent angel (which in of itself isn't a bad thing) but y'all do know it's likely he's not...fully innocent right? I mean, yes he's oblivious a lot definitely. Evidence?

Okay the Adultery thing is probably a misunderstanding and "where do babies come from" is him being oblivious and the dad persona kicking in.

Though I have to be the only who didn't notice the sly middle finger he gave Deceit when he pushed up his glasses. Seriously! As a glasses user myself, folks that's a classic way to give someone the middle finger.

"I'm in a Disney Show" video, during the endcard Patton makes the statement that misleading compliments are clickbait insults. Now it's not something profound but seriously, it's worth mentioning that the sweet supposedly innocent one is the one who picks up on that. Not Roman, Virgil or even Logan. It was Patton.

Also the Valentine's video, when Logan questions who they should practise on and Patton immediately goes "each other?". As sweet as it is, Patton knows what flirting is. Folks he knows. He simply goes about it in an innocent manner.

Also in Intrusive Thoughts video, instead of being confused by Remus' statements (like anyone truly and fully innocent would be) he reacts very shocked and well y'know how he reacts.

[Additional note: the others aren't trying to shelter him or stop Patton hearing.]

He knows what Remus is talking about. And well Logan's version of the white bear experiments speaks for itself.

Patton clearly knows certain things society would say is not innocent. He's the core of feelings. There's lots of feelings Patton will know. That's just natural.

However obviously he is somewhat innocent to many things and his first thoughts are likely very innocent in many scenarios. That's just fact. He's aware of bad language (and has used it himself ahem "ass-et"?) He simply prefers to use clean safe language (e.i "your... b-hole needs to stay zipped up in your pants")

Patton is simply kind, polite and sweet. And as Patton said in the second ever video of Sanders Sides (Way Too Adult), he is simply a "kid at heart". He's just playful!

But we need to be aware that he isn't a kid or has that mentality. He is still aware of many things that a child would not be. So we need to stop limiting his character to that all the time.

That's all I wanted to say!

I think about this a lot

Remus was genuinely confused about Patton being a part of the problem... he wanted Logan to say it was Virgil and only Virgil.

Which leads me to wonder is Deceits “purpose” to get Virgil to the back on the dark sides? We all know he was the one that informed Remus of Character Thomas’ current mental state and how he “wanted to be more honest dealing with his issues”.

Remus’ confusion when Logan said Patton was being to strict and it wasn’t only Virgil brings up a lot of questions I don’t see people talking about.

Are Deceit and Remus teaming up to get Virgil “against” Charecter Thomas again?

Logan's Dark Side (Theory)

With all the excitement going around about the identity and name of a new Dark Side, I've seen several posts speculating about what Logan’s Dark Side may be, and I present five options.

One: Logan’s Dark Side is Deceit. Think about it. I don't believe there has been confirmation by Thomas himself on Patton and Deceit being “opposites”, so to speak. Deceit represents false information. Who gives information? That's right: Logan, or Logic. You may be wondering: “who is Patton's Dark Side, if it's not Deceit?” And to that, I present two options.

Patton's Dark Side is the mysterious orange Side, the one we haven't seen yet. While this is the more likely option and fits the color theory more than number two does, I think what would be cooler is…

Virgil is Patton's Dark Side. I've heard that Thomas has said there are three Light Sides, three Dark Sides, and one Neutral Side. You're most likely thinking: “shouldn't Virgil be the Neutral Side?” And I will not deny that that is possible. However, Patton is, among other things, Thomas’s feelings. You know what's also a feeling? Anxiety. Virgil is the fear you feel, the worry that claws at your chest when you walk across the street, or when you think about opening up to someone, or when you talk to a person you just met. Virgil would represent fear while Patton would be in charge of Thomas's other emotions. This would allow the orange side to be the Neutral one.

Two: Logan's Dark Side is “Frustration”. I'll be honest, this is the least likely one that he'll be, but it's a possibility nonetheless. Logan has already shown himself to become angry when he feels he isn't being listened to or taken seriously. Frustration would simply be an amplified version of that. Frustration would be what Logan feels when things aren't logical, when things don't make sense, when things are complicated and complex and he doesn't understand.

Three: Logan's Dark Side is “Apathy”. I know, I know, you're probably thinking that I copied this idea off of @parano--vigilant, and while their video certainly added to my theory, I've actually had the theory for a while now, and far before I saw the video. Apathy would be the coldness, the uncaringness, that one may feel when making logical choices. Apathy would be the sort of “ends justify the means”, and while he would look at the bigger picture a lot of the time, he would ignore the hurt he is inflicting on others while he does things. He doesn't care. He can't care.

Four: Logan’s Dark Side is “Repression”. Repression is a topic that has been brought up frequently in the Sanders Sides series, which I feel may be hinting at something. Repression shows up in every character. Virgil and Remus have been repressed, Deceit is part of the “this isn't happening, I'm fine, nothing is wrong” mindset, which is a part of repression, Roman has repressed his insecurities and outright ignores when he is hurting, Patton has repressed his negative feelings, and Logan has repressed all feelings whatsoever. Repression is the mastermind, sitting in the shadows, whispering false comforts of how everything will be fine. Repression is the puppet master, stringing along the others and causing them to lash out in anger and sadness because of the pent up pain that's been inside them for so long. Repression is Logan's Dark Side because of how he says things that should be logical, but in reality, aren't. Repression is the most dangerous Dark Side.

Five: Logan's Dark Side is Virgil himself. Virgil is overthinking things, giving off information that could be true but is also so utterly irrational it's unlikely, but the possibility’s still there. Virgil is the paranoia one feels when they don't know enough about a subject, when they are simply left to imagine with their mind. Virgil is the fear of something one doesn't understand, and that is the most terrifying thing of all. Virgil is Paranoia, and Logan is the logical one explaining how it's most likely fine.

Of course, it's all up to Thomas, Joan, and the others, but if one of these theories turn out to be right? Hoooo boy, I just might scream.
