There are very few people that will stay in your life forever. Everyone stays for their allotted time. Your childhood friend you were going to marry was meant to keep your childhood happy until they moved away. Your school friends are there to be scared with you as you go through big changes. The love of your life is there to teach you how to live right. Your first love is there to teach you what it is to hurt.

Remus, Sirius, James, and Peter knew ear get are going to be forever friends the moment they stepped foot into the train. They started a room for seven years. They shared over 4,032 meals together. They shared classes, interests, pranks, and secrets.

If you asked any one of the marauders if they ever thought they would separate, they would laugh and say, over my dead body.

They knew they wouldn't separate because they wouldn't be who they were without each other. They loved each other more than anything. They protected each other and they cherished each other.

James Potter was the first to leave. October 31, 1981.

Peter Pettigrew disappeared that day.

Sirius Black left next. He spent twelve years is Azkaban for the murder of his brother that he didn't commit.

Remus Lupin spent twelve agonizing years by himself. 144 full moons. Half of his soul was dead and the only bit left was tattered and broken beyond compare.

Sirius Black left for good on June 18, 1996.

Peter Pettigrew followed two years later. He died serving the man who killed the best friends he'd ever had.

Remus Lupin died 683 days after the love of his life. 6,027 days after the loss of his best friend.

There were no more echoing laughs in Potter Cottage. No more sleepovers during the summer. No more pranks when they're bored. No more whispered conversations in the dead of night. No more broken promises or badly kept secrets.

All that was left is orphaned children, war, traitors, and bloodshed.

I'm flipping through Realms of Atlantis again for reasons and I just love that Daniel is apparently around Court somewhere but never really mentioned as being in the room, and the one time Lestat refers to him directly, he doesn't even get a name check!

"I smiled. Our coming out into the modern world had begun over forty years ago with a human radio interviewer in a rented room in San Francisco inviting Louis to tell his story to a tape recorder. And now here we were, all of us, storing every word and gesture of this historic meeting on the modern offspring of that old recorder."

I am legitimately losing my mind.

He has a name. Lestat knows his name! Lestat stayed at his house in Florida and spoke to him about his time with Armand, if nothing else. He's Armand's only fledgling, for god's sake. I mean come on!

I hope Daniel gets that put on a t-shirt and gives them out to the Coven as Christmas gifts. Or on a set of throw pillows he leaves on Lestat's throne. Maybe he can comandeer Benji's studio and start his own vampire podcast call "Human Radio Interviewer at Vampire Court."

I'm going to go chew paper.

Look, I know the Prince Lestat era isn't perfect but I love it, okay. I love how they all got their happy ending, and how they're one big dysfunctional family. I fucking cried when I finished Blood Communion, firstly because despite what shitshow VC can be at times, I love this series, and I was sad to finish reading about my special little guys and gals. Secondly, because they had a nice ending. They were alive and well and happy and I love that for them. Sure, I can read it all over again, but finishing something you love for the first time hits different ig.

and im sooooo happy tori is stucopres and atlantis was suuuuch a good story in how it set it up. because we've know he would become the prez as of ! era and mao himself noted that he was p much just the transition guy between eichi and tori which kind of sucked and there was no suspense about it, but atlantis was So good about it and i love hibiki wataru and his relationship with tori is so good and i love how it brought back one of my favorite aspects of ! era, that theme of the new generations helping the older characters move on. which is. kind of the base the entire game is built on.

Marius/Daniel, Armand/Daniel - 2,528 words - Mature

After spending the night comforting Armand during the fallout of his fight with Marius, Daniel talks to Marius and tells him that he and Armand will be leaving for New York when things settle.

This is another attempt to fill in some of the gaps in PLROA where we know Daniel is there but he is not really on the page. I guess because most of this stuff is not happening in Lestat's presence. But I like to imagine how it happened, hence this series!

This is Part 3. Part 1 is Daniel learning about the aliens, and Part 2 is the aftermath of the fight Armand and Marius have that Lestat tells us about but we don't see on the page.

Short Excerpt:

He looked up when Daniel entered. He wore an elegant red robe. His blond hair hung around his shoulders and his blue eyes were sharp. Vampires did not get circles beneath their eyes but there was a weariness in his expression anyway.

“Hey,” Daniel said.

“I see you still have all your limbs. I assume everyone is so lucky.” Marius’ voice was light but his expression remained hard.

“Armand is fine,” Daniel answered.

“I figured as much. I was referring to anyone who may have been unfortunate enough to cross his path.”

Daniel sighed. He sat down in the easy chair opposite Marius. Like the chairs in Armand’s room, these were made of soft velvet and oak.

“He was kind of on a warpath last night,” Daniel conceded. Marius raised an eyebrow. Either surprised Daniel agreed or perhaps in question. “But calling him a child—“

“I said he had childlike qualities,” Marius argued, but then he sighed, too. “I suppose I could have chosen my words more carefully.”

Daniel snorted. “You think? You’d never say anything like that to Lestat or to me, and both of us can be…”

“Immature?” Marius offered.

“Reckless,” Daniel corrected.
