Dungeon Meshi modern au where both Laois and Falin are food vloggers. Laois is always travelling to remote areas and cultures to try the most "extreme" foods and bring them to light. He's known as the guy who will drink blood and slam a still wriggling bug just to comment on it's nutty flavor. Meanwhile Falin is visiting long-standing eateries and sharing the stories behind local cuisine.
Nobody actually puts together they're siblings (in part due to wildly different viewerbases) until Falin in one video mentions how she enjoys eating insects and the comment section is full of folks asking her to "collab with the bug guy". Her very next video is her and Laois smiling infront of a mukbang style platter of insects and she introduces him as her brother.

these are the cheesy garlic knots me and my partner made from scratch last week! It was a really good way to ease into baking bread and get comfortable with the process :)
Here's the recipe we used as a base. I made a few alterations like stuffing the inside of the dough rolls with cheese and garlic butter instead of just coating the exterior.
I also made a tomato based pasta sauce to dip them in. Was just a jarred sauce that I jazzed up with fried onion and mushroom.

You ever want an iced latte or something but you're too lazy to leave and you don't own any coffee equipment? Fret no longer! After some desperate googling I found the EASIEST FUCKIN DIY ESPRESSO EVER (please don't come after me coffee connoisseurs)
1. Add 5 spoonfuls of ground coffee to a glass
2. Saturate with hot water
3. Cover and wait 1 minute
4. Stir to generate crema
5. Filter through a sieve into another glass
BOOM!!! ESPRESSO!!! No fancy equipment or anything!
I poured mine in a glass with ice cubes and milk and added pumpkin spice and sugar (pre-dissolved in hot water), AMAZING

Take a red onion. Caramelize it. Add garlic. Add tomato paste. Add smoked paprika (a lot). Add 1 can of butter beans. Mix. Juice 1 lemon. Add the juice. Add sriracha. Add heavy cream. Add spinach. Serve with bread or over rice. Cry over how fucking good it tastes. The only “cooking” you have to do is cooking your onion down. Everything else is just adding shit. You don’t even have to measure it’s just to taste. It’s very good, very filling (1 can could probably feed 2 people). Got veggies in there, got protein. Very little effort required

Omega knows how to cook but it's only out of pure spite when someone threatened that he couldn't because he's a robot.
Yes, he lit the kitchen on fire too many times while learning, sometimes on purpose because he got bored, sometimes on accident. No, his food is not amazing by any means. It tends to be pretty under-seasoned. But yes, Shadow and Rouge do appreciate his scrambled eggs in the morning and his mac and cheese after a mission.

Secret Family Recipes
I shared my cookie recipes last week, so here are the secret recipes without which my family's Christmas celebrations would not be complete:
Grandma's House Punch
Put a block of sherbet into the punch bowl. (Lime is the Most Christmas Flavor, but you can use any kind except Rainbow.)
Pour ginger ale over it.
You can serve it in anything, but it tastes better if you ladle it into the little cups with handles that match the punch bowl.
Chex Mix
Okay, this one's a little more complicated! There are two parts and also you have to use the oven. But it's worth it for old-fashioned homemade Chex Mix, like Grandma used to make.
To make the sauce, melt a stick of butter and add:
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
A teaspoon and a half of seasoned salt
A teaspoon of garlic powder
Half a teaspoon of onion powder
You can use margarine if you're making it for vegans, but it isn't as good. If you don't have onion powder, use a little extra of the seasoned salt and garlic powder.
Shake up the following in a big bowl with a lid:
3-4 cups each of rice, corn, and wheat Chex. (Store brand is fine, except Wheat Chex only comes in the name brand.)
At least a cup of mixed nuts. I usually put in a cup of Deluxe Mixed Nuts (the kind without peanuts) and then a big handful each of walnuts, almonds, and pecans from the bags I buy to bake with. (If you're making it for someone allergic to nuts, you can skip them, or substitute Goldfish crackers.)
About a cup of pretzel sticks. (Mini pretzels are also OK, but I always use sticks.)
Shake it up dry first, to get everything distributed, then pour in the sauce and shake some more so that everything gets coated.
Pour the mix into your big glass baking dish, and put it in the oven for an hour at 250. Stir it every 15 minutes. (Don't skip the stirring, but you can get away with every 20 minutes.) While this is happening, your house will smell delicious.
You can start eating it while it's still warm, but let it cool before you put it away in the big bowl with the lid.

The good news: I have chicken in the crock pot simmering into stock.
The bad news: I am sleeping in the guest room (I snore and my wife is a light sleeper) and it's off the kitchen and the smell is making me so hungry. So hungry!!!
