I finished Pluto and I keep thinking about the theme of wanting to be rid of negative emotion but negative emotions also being necessary as long as you don't let them overwhelm you.
spoilers
Atom as Tobio is imperfect because he lacks resentment. Robots given the choice to be anything or anyone cannot choose because to become that perfect robot, they need negative traits. Hatred is what finally brings Tenma's perfect robot out of its AI brain fog. Sorrow and hatred over what Sahad has become saves the world in the end.
And of course the positive emotions aren't ignored, and frequently it's the unification of both positive and negative that create the biggest plot points. Like Sahad loves the world, loves nature, etc...so he's able to stop Bora because he wants to die and he wants to save. Gesicht is overcome with the horror and anger at his dismembered child, but also driven by love for that child.
This is also why the robots fail to stop Pluto and only Pluto can stop Bora. None of them have the right balance between positive and negative, not even Gesicht and Atom.
It's very fascinating. Many thoughts. Head full. Still kind of refining this in my brain, but I wanted to jot these thoughts down nonetheless.

Tess' Sharpuary - 25. Youth
Teenage Aesop learns something new about his closest friend.
chapter specific tags: friendship, attempts at humour, coming of age
relationships: aesop sharp & aesop's auror partner
a/n: I'll be honest, this is not my favourite drawing I did for Sharpuary, I'm not really happy with it. However, I've got a very different one made for after Sharpuary, whih I hope will make up for this one 👀😁

25. Youth (1.4k)
tw: none
“Forget it, Bramblethorn!” said the Fifht-year Slytherin impatiently, rounding a corner and continuing on his way towards the Library. “Oh, come on, Sharp!” whined the Gryffindor trailing behind him, struggling to keep pace because of Aesop’s considerably longer legs. Aesop’s latest growth spurt left him having to deal with a tall lanky body, but he got used to it fairly quickly. It was quite funny, really - last Christmas he was a few inches shorter than his own mother, now he towered over her. Nevertheless, he also learned he needed to slow his pace when walking next to his peers, as one of his steps were at least two of their own. Well, he wasn’t slowing down now.
“I told you, I’m not going to play a matchmaker for you and Ashley,” his voice was annoyed, and he cringed internally when it cracked upon saying his best friend’s name. Bloody puberty, he couldn’t wait for it to be over. Well, it could be worse, he supposed - unlike many of his classmates, he did not suffer from nasty acne breakouts; there was a pimple or two every now and then, but that was as bad as it got. “Why are you even asking this of me?” he questioned, suddenly stopping and making the shorter boy nearly collide with his back.
Once Bramblethorn caught his breath, he craned his head to look at the Slytherin: “Well, because you’re her best friend, aren’t you? Who better to ask her than you? Mind, she is kind of friendly with my sister, but once I asked Marianne to introduce me, or at least tell me some things Ash likes, she told me to mind my own business and quit pestering her.” Aesop huffed: “And so will I; Bramblethorn, mind your business and quit pestering me.” The tall boy turned to leave, but a hand on his arm stopped him. He shook it off, but turned back towards his classmate nevertheless.
“Please! If you do this for me, I’ll make sure you don’t regret it! You know Miss Scribner, right?” The black haired lad inquired, prompting Aesop to huff again: “How in Merlin’s name would I not know the junior librarian at Hogwarts? Bloody everyone goes to the Library! Well, perhaps save a few Gryffindors…”
“She’s my aunt!” replied Bramblethorn, not taking the Slytherin’s snarky bait. Aesop made a move with his hand that clearly said ‘So?’. “And you want to become an Auror, right? If you help me, I might be able to get Aunt Agnes to let you into the Restricted section, where you can learn about and study potions and spells that they don’t teach until later or even not at all. You’d have an advantage over everyone else!”
Sharp actually considered the offer. Of course, it would not be his first time going to the Restricted section. He and Ashley managed to access the alluringly forbidden part of the Library on several occasions with the use of the Disillusionment charm, but having to evade the librarian and his apprentice, as well as the various ghost and the menace that was Peeves the poltergeist, there was never quite enough time to properly peruse the collection of various tomes deemed too dangerous in inexperienced wizard’s or witch's hands.
Having an actual permission to access this knowledge at his own leisure sounded like a very appealing idea. He sighed: “Look. I can’t promise you anything. I can tell her that you’d like to get to know her better, maybe invite her out on a Hogsmeade weekend, but that’s about as much as I can do. Can’t exactly force her to actually go out with you.” Bramblethorn gave him a wide grin: That is all that I ask for, really! Just please talk to her, and I promise I’ll get my aunt to see that you’re truly a future Auror wanting to study in advance, and that you won't use any of the books to become a dark wizard, or something. So - deal?”
They shook hands, and then Aesop was on his way to the Library again, the Gryffindor having left him alone finally. While at the library, the Fifth-year picked up one of the Potion books, casting a curious eye at the junior librarian. Now that he thought about it, there perhaps was a little bit of familial resemblance, but he had to squint his eyes quite a bit. Finally, he just shrugged his shoulders and headed up the spiral staircase to go to his favourite spot to study. It was at the far front, nicely hidden away and private, so he could calmly delve into his books in peace.
However, as he rounded the tall bookcase sheltering his little place from view, he suddenly froze on the spot. Not only was his spot already occupied, but he knew both people occupying it, one more than the other. Well, said persons were currently engaged in a very passionate snogging session, and the lad felt himself go red. “W-what the hell?!” he finally said, his voice once more cracking. He did not care that it did right now, definitely not when, with two loud squeaks, he was suddenly looking at the faces of no other than Ashley Montgomery and Marianne Bramblethorn.
The girls soon turned as red as he was, and scrambled to get away from each other. All parties were quiet for several seconds, but then Marianne began quickly gathering her things. “A-alright, thank you for the-… the tutoring, Ash, I really feel like I’m beginning to get a grasp on the vanishing spell,” Bramblethorn stuttered, “I, um, I’ll see you around!” And with that, she was gone, running away from the two friends as fast as her feet could take her.
“Uh… so um…” Ashley said eloquently. “What the bloody hell was that about?” Aesop questioned, still looking after the black-haired girl. “Uh, well, you know…” the Hufflepuff started explaining, “she’s… nice. And pretty. And she smells good. And she’s a good kisser… Why, do you have a problem with it?” she sounded defensive all of a sudden. “Of course I bloody don’t,” Aesop replied immediately, finally looking at his oldest friend, “I just… I didn’t know, alright? It’s a bit of a shock to me, that’s all… Although, it does explain a few things.”
Ashley lifted her eyebrows at him curiously, and motioned for him to go on. “Well, firstly why your dad doesn’t have a problem with me staying over at yours during the summer. He knows it, I take it?” Aesop sat down into a chair opposite of the blonde girl. “Yeah,” she confirmed, “we talked about it when he explained, you know, sex and stuff to me. It was very awkward. I told him I thought I actually liked girls, and he said that he kind of knew I would. Dunno how, but I trust him.”
The two friends sat in silence for several minutes, Aesop toying with the book in his hands. Finally, he started chuckling quietly. “Shall you share with the class what’s so funny, Mr Sharp?” Ashley teased in an overly posh voice, imitating their DADA teacher. “Oh, nothing just… Matthew Bramblethorn is going to be completely gobsmacked. You see, he asked me to introduce him to you. And here you are, snogging his sister senseless in the Library. I don’t think he’ll get me the Restricted section pass now…”
Ashley made a mock-offended face: “Aesop Theodore Sharp, how could you! You would sell me for a Restricted section pass?!” Aesop rolled his eyes: “Of course I bloody wouldn’t. I just promised him to talk to you about him, nothing more, nothing less.” “To be honest, I would’ve agreed to that deal too, if it was me,” Ash shrugged her shoulders with a mischievous grin, “but for what it’s worth, you can tell him you did talk to me about it, and I, most gracefully and kindly, declined, as I wish to focus mainly on my studies while I’m staying within these ancient walls.”
“With your tongue down his sister’s throat,” Aesop finished flatly. Ashley closed her eyes and nodded: “With my tongue down his sister's throat.”
They laughed together shortly. “Still, maybe he’ll be grateful enough to get you that pass.. Or we could just sneak in on our own again. We’ll make a plan, ensure Peeves is off terrorising someone else, then maybe pinch a few books to be able to study them in our free time, and then return them back,” Ashley offered then, her eyes mischievous and filled with challenge. Aesop couldn’t help but reply in kind: “That sounds way more fun, to be honest.”
Thank you for reading! ❤ Smutty one tomorrow 😈

The unapproachable trio
Yeah I know I should be working on part 4 shhhhh Ok but imagine you are a new legionnaire after the battle with Krios in the ReBiancaRoNico universe.
You are new and you are nervous, you finally leave Lupa and her pack but nothing promises to become easier after that; the moment you hear that they really need new legionnaires after the war unsettles you.
The person who received you says is fine, that the gods won against Saturn so things should be a lot better now with the war over. People keep telling you that you should be glad you got now instead of before, but you are still unsettled because what if another war breaks in?
Seeing the praetors just makes you a lot nervous.
The blonde one seems alright at first, has a professional smile in place, one calculated but still welcoming; he has a scar on his lip and blue eyes like the sky. The one beside him is not so welcoming; like, she is not rude or anything, but has a permanent stern look in her face, like she is judging you, and something on that glare is so intense you are partially scare she could burn you with her laser glare.
You learn later that she in fact, doesn’t have a laser sight, but what you learn is not exactly comforting. Aside for getting to become a praetor in record time, she is an amazing tactician and warrior who guided the legion when they lost their praetor during the war and instead of letting the legion go like a chicken without a head, she commanded them herself like she always belonged in that position. There is rumours that her sister is the queen of the amazons, and before being part of the legion she was a pirate in the sea of monsters, the pirates being so scare of her and her sister that they literally let them and holy shit there is something this girl cannot do?
The guy who you thought was better is in fact, a lot more scarier that at first glance. He was trained by Lupa at the age of two, living in the legion as a soldier since he was three, was a child of the king of the gods who could fly and shot lightings. If that wasn’t intimidated enough, he killed the Titan Krios with his bare hands; a freaking Titan.
They are not the only one scary, tho.
Once you got into a Cohort, people fill you in about the other cohorts and such. The Fifth cohort used to have the worst reputation, but not so much right now; aside the fact that one of their praetors is from the Fifht Cohort, there is also their current Centurion, Nico Di Angelo.
When you look at the boy, he doesn’t look like a much. He has this olive skin with dark hair and eyes, he looks on the young side, also a little scrawny for somebody who has been in the legion for years. There is also the fact that when you look at him, he was talking with their praetors and have this easy-going smile on his face.
It is only when they told you that you stop thinking that this guy is not that much.
He is a child of pluto, the god of the underworld; he was rescue from the Saturn Army years ago, and trained alongside with their current praetors. He received a sword that could absorb the essence of the monsters (Rumours said it was a gift from his father, that is extremely odd since gods rarely get in contact), and if being in par with the best of the best in the Camp wasn’t enough, he was also a decisive factor during the battle. In the middle of war, he invoked an army of skeletons; that since he called them, he lead them while Reyna lead the living soldiers, while Jason was battling the Titan at the moment.
Apparently the three of them are very close, if one of them goes on a quest the other two go, and they had never failed any of those. A lot of people are sure that if there were War Games where the whole legion needed to battle against those three, the legion would lost without them getting a scratch. There is also this rumour that the Son of Jupiter has a thing for the Centurion, but you decide to tune off on that one; the last thing you want is to get on the bad side of one of the praetors for gossiping about his love life. People insist that between the three he is the most approachable, but is better to be safe than sorry.
Things fall into place, you get into a routine and feel like living here is not so bad.
Then your centurion ask you to go to the Praetor’s office and call them over something, they don’t tell you what, just to call them; you want to weasel out but you are in probatio so there is not a lot of option there.
You knock at first and call for any of the praetors, but nobody answers. Part of you wants to just go back to your Centurion and said nobody answered, but you know that they would not let you go that easy and you don’t want to cut grass with a nail clipper, so while trying to forget the anxiety bubbling inside you, go inside.
What you see is well...unsettling.
Well, perhaps that’s not the word, is not that what you see is bad, not by a long shot; but you certainly didn’t expect it, you feel like in the cartoons where instead of brain there is a hamsters in a wheel and suddenly the animal just stops running and everything falls apart.
The Praetors and the Fifth Cohort Centurion are cuddling.
You are not sure how is possible; there is a couch in the Praetor Office, but is not exactly a place where you can fit three people, they make it work somehow. The Praetor Grace has his arms around Praetor Ramirez-Arellano and Centurion Di Angelo, the last two are in his chest with their arms around each other.
They all look so...normal, after all the stories and see them fighting, is easy to forget they are just teenagers like you. It actually adorable, their faces relaxed and comfortable, like none of them would like to be in any other place right now.
Is at that moment that you see a note in the desk, and decide to check.
The Praetor needed to rest for a while, DON’T wakes up unless is urgent. - Centurion Di Angelo.
It is not specific which Praetor needed to rest, neither why they needed the other two make company, but it doesn’t matter because you are in panic all over again.
You have zero clue if what your own centurion wanted is urgent or not, they just tell you to call them. On top of that the order is from a centurion of another cohort, so technically he cannot give you orders.
But the don’t is in written in big, bold letters, and you are scare of what would happen if you invoke the wrath of the most powerful trio in the Legion (Or even the city!) for interrupting their nap.
Suddenly, you wish you died in your training with Lupa.

Oscars 2018: the 9 best movies (and 1 more) to see this weekend
Are your ready for 2018 Oscars? There’s only 72 hours left to see all the movies that conquered the best picture nomination. We suggest you to watch all of them, plus one.
  Call me by your name
It’s been 19 years a italian movie wasn’t included in best picture short list. Luca Guadagnino’s play talks about the love story between Elio and Oliver, during a hot italian summer in 1983. The movie gained 4 nominations: best picture, best original song, best adapted screenplay and best actor in a leading role (Timothée Chalamet).
Why you should watch it: because we debated about this movie for so long and because it’s good to support our country for such a good reason.
  Dunkirk
Christopher Nolan‘s movie depicts the evacuation of Dunquerque, a French seaside where the UK army was besieged by Nazis, during World War II.
Why you should watch it: because we can’t say no to a movie about World War II, especially if the director decided not to use special effects.
  Get Out
It’s the second time in the Academy Awards history that an horror movie is included in the best picture short list. The first time was in 1992 for “The Silence of the Lambs”. And actually it won! Who knows if director Jordan Peele could score the award? Get out is about Chris, a young afro-american, that meet for the first time his wasp girlfriend’s parents. It will soon turn into a terryfing weekend, because his in-laws are like the new Ku Klux Klan.
Why you should watch it: because it’s the director’s debut, it was made with a tiny budget and it soon became the hottest movie to watch…and plus, a movie weekend without an horror one?
  Lady Bird
Lady Bird is a coming-of-age teen movie and it’s the one you should’t expect in the best picture short list. Greta Gerwig, with her very first play, is the fifht woman to conquer the best director nomination. The plot portrays the relationship between the frustrated teenager Christine”Lady Bird” and her hyper protective mother Marion.
Why you should watch it: because it’s about strong women, inside the movie but also outside the screen. All the 5 nominations are dedicated to director Greta Gerwig and actresses  Saoirse Ronan and Laurie Metcalf.
  Phantom thread
The Fifties couturier London’s atelier, where he creates beautiful dresses for princesses and movie stars is the set of Phantom thread, that talks about the relationship between the tailor  Reynolds Woodcock and his muse-lover Alma. It scored 6 nominations, included the one for best costumes, of course.
Why you should watch it: because it’s Daniel Day-Lewis‘s farewell, and he’s close to conquer his 4th Academy award.
The darkest hour
United Kingdom during World War II scored 2 nominations at the Academy Awards. Besides Dunkirk, also The darkest hour portrays the most difficult moment in Winston Churchill’s career, when he had to take the hardest decision ever for the country’s safe.
Why you should watch it: again, we can’t say no to a good war movie, especially if Gary Oldman, with the Golden Globe already in his pocket, was able to turn himself into Chrurchill thanks to 200 make up hours.
  The Post
Latest Steven Spielberg movie depicts how Washington Post, just a local newspaper, became one of the most important medium in United States with the publication of Penthagon Paper, thanks to editor in chief Ben Bradlee and newpaper heiress Katharine Graham, the first female publisher of a major American newspaper
Why you shoild watch it: because it’s about empowered women. Plus, how could you say no to Meryl Streep and her 22th Oscar nomination?
  The shape of water
Guillermo Del Toro‘s movie scored 13 nominations (only Titanic had 14 nominations). The plot is about Elisa, a cleaning woman at a secret Usa government laboratory where she discovers a mysterious creature emprisoned in a tank. We’re in Baltimore during the Cold War in 1962 and that “monster” could be the right weapon to defeat the enemy.
Why you should watch it: because everybody loves impossibile love stories.
  Three billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri
The plot depicts how three billboards, on which Mildred addresses the local olice department on how they didn’t solve the case of her daughter’s rape and murder, will change the lives of the three main characters: Mildred, indeed, sheriff Bill and agent Jason.
Why you should watch it: because it scored 4 Golden Globe Awards and because it’s an outsider between so many big names.
I, Tonya
Tonya is Tonya Harding, the figure skater known as the first American woman to successfully land a triple axe that made headlines for the biggest sport scandal in the Usa.
Why you should watch it: it’s not in the best picture short list, but Margot Robbie was so credible in Tonya Harding’s costumes that she scord her very first nomination for best leading role. Maybe she won’t conquer the award, but we hope it would be the first of a long series.

Week 4 assignment- data tools
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Brief summary of my project, I am using my own personal data, looking into subjects with the diagnosis of subarachnoid hemorrhage and the development of complications. Specifically analyzing the association among 2 of these complications (hyponatremia and vasospasm). For this week assignment testing a potential moderator I decided to test the potential influence of ethnicity on my results.
On the first image we can see the code of my project developed for this week assignment, First I assessed the effect ethnicity can have as a moderator in my ANOVA test for age distribution between subjects with hyponatremia and not hyponatremic. There were no significant differences found when running ANOVA without moderation (F=3.67, p-value=0.57) (second image) my explanatory categorical variable was hyponatremia and the response quantitative was age, ethnicity was considered as the third moderating variable to explore if the relation changes. In the results we can see that age distribution for all ethnicities are similar on both groups (hyponatremic and non hyponatremic) except for the African-American group (represented by number 2), it appears that in this sample hyponatremic subjects were older than normonatremic subjects, mean 64.09 years old vs mean 49.03 years old respectively (F = 7, 52, p-value=0.009) (Third image).
Subsequently, again added race as a probable moderating variable, for this case in the setting of my chi-square test were hyponatremia was the categorical explanatory variable and development of vasospasm was the categorical response variable. We can see on the results that the previously reported significant association for this 2 variables is only true for the Caucasian group (represented by number 1) (chi-square =19.46 and p-value<0.0001), however for the rest of the groups ethnicities we don’t see significant p-values neither on chi-square or Fisher exact test when appropriate (fourth and fifht image).
Lastly, on the Pearson correlation test again ethnicity was added as a probable moderating variable and we can see from the results that the previously statistically significant negative correlation among age and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) (r=-0.23, p-value=0.0024) is only true for the Asian population (r=-0.88, p-value=0.047). For the rest of the groups this correlation seems to disappear (sixth and seventh images).
*Results from this type of analysis should be interpreted with caution, due to the unequal distribution on the sample size when grouping in ethnic groups, and the small sample.

Got my TIDAL 2023 playlist today (it was probably up Dec 1 I just logged into today for the first time in December). Since it doesn't count my iTunes plays and I suspect it might give preference to songs deliberately chosen to play over songs that just came up via rotation, it's a slightly different top 10 songs than my Last.fm catalogued.
"Telephone Line" - Electric Light Orchestra
"Self Control" - Laura Branigan
"Eyes without a Face" - Billy Idol
"Told You to Run" - RŌGUES
"Baby Come Back" - Player
"Caged Bird" - RŌGUES
"Total Eclipse of the Heart" - Bonnie Tyler
"Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" - Starship
"Smalltown Boy" - Bronski Beat
"Tu Mere Samne" - Lata Mangeshkar & Udit Narayan

Apparently Kishimoto is going to take over storyboarding for the Boruto manga starting at the end of this month. Not sure how I feel about this since I’ve actually been kind of liking the manga so far and Samurai 8 was such a let down.

Jump Festa 2021 seems to have confirmed that BnHA might be wrapping soon totally or just part one no one seems sure who's been translating things that I've seen so far
So, let me just put on my court jester hat because I'm like just over 100,000 words into a second edit of a TodoBaku soulmate AU fic that's about 185,000 words long and so far everything I thought I could put in the fic before the manga got there has pretty much happened except for AFO and Yagi’s fates lol
Fill in-between soulmate and eventual romance plot points with canon-typical plot points I said.
Let Midoriya’s storyline waft in and out because he’s still a Jump protagonist I said.
Maybe I’ll get it posted before that reveal I said.
Little did I know I wouldn’t get it posted before that second and third reveal, but luckily I was deliberately trying to psych out how things probably wouldn’t happen so I don’t feel like I have to rewrite those things to avoid boring everyone.
I’m still going to finish it and post it, but I do feel a bit foolish for taking so damn long to do it.
Ah to be me almost twenty years ago, sixteen, fresh faced, and bubbling over with such confidence in my writing I didn’t edit a single damn fic until senior year if not my twenties.

Got all the base colors done for the manga spread coloring so now I can get the colors synched up on the lineart and then darken the lineart layer. Then I’ll be able to start prepping shade and highlight colors, render clouds, render dust, etc...etc...
Tumblr media
Also the blue is still a place holder color, so that will definitely change

Maybe it's the vague fever talking, but I feel like I liked the idea of the Doctor being the start of the Time Lords and that's why they get so many get out of the final regeneration free cards, but at the same time I think it could have been written a bit better especially the Master's part
That said, I’m not sure if we really needed such a reveal because part of the appeal of the show is not really knowing why the Doctor can just get out of things beyond main character plot devices

I read chapter 261, and I keep coming back to the concept of high-end Nomu. I'm curious if Ujiko considers Kurogiri to be a Nomu or maybe a proto-Nomu or something else entirely especially since Shirakumo's brain is not exposed. Although not all of the high-end Nomus had their brains exposed, sot hat's likely not a criteria. If Kurogiri is a Nomu by Ujiko's definition, then I'm curious if he's perhaps a low-end Nomu. Like he's a defense Nomu in that he can just fwip Shigaraki out of tough situations if need be while also providing butler-like services. Although perhaps Kurogiri is somewhere in the middle, which is what made him such a great Nomu to give to Shigaraki and a low-end Nomu might be one that can barely function.
I’m also curious if we’re heading for a reveal of whatever happened to Best Jeanist and if Bakugou will have a part in whatever that might be.
There’s a lot to think about but not in a way that really lent to a regular reaction post since I kind of had to process it a little and then the questions started coming to me. Bummer we have to wait until March for more.

Apparently tonight's SPN epsiode is called "Golden Time" and all I can think about is Yami from Black Clover. I don't think that's the kind of golden time SPN is talking about though
