#its been a long time since ive done pixel art like this #but this is a doodle ive had in my head the past couple days #and ive had a rough day so i dont have energy to do a big drawing but i did wanna draw Something to unwind #but yeah its just about fond childhood memories. we havent spoken in a long time but its still nice to look back on those times #so i tried to get the colors to look kind of like sepia.... #but wherever my childhood bestie is i hope shes well truly. even if its been a while since we were in contact i wish her all the happiness #finn's art #pixel art

the deer 🦌 is named Wisteria and is my character, and the fox 🦊 is named Cypress and is my brother's character! (unfortunately he does not have social media so no @s)

Wisteria is selectively mute and plays the panflute, and cypress plays the viola :) they say that theyre twins but theyre really not lmao

note from Finn (the brother in question): Ive been thinking about creating a character for Meadowlark for a while now but I havent really gotten to it because of lack of motivation lmao; I've been listening to Yaelokre since they basically began making music so finally getting to this makes me happy (and i hope it makes them just as happy as well :) )

#finn's ocs #finn's art #sorry i was super offline the past few days but i had some time to draw between stuff so. them :) #besides i might as well draw all them hanging out like this after drawing PJ designs. but unlike in those i gave polaris and saiph pants #let them at least be decent while hanging out LOL #i want to draw lots more misc oc stuff now that i have all the refs done #but somehow i have too many ideas and yet none at all at the same time! if you have suggestions lmk 😅 #anyway polaris is annoyed at saiph here because he wont stop moving his head even though the braiding was his idea lol #bella passed the fuck out shes one of those ppl who have a very set sleep schedule #wakes up at 6am falls asleep immediately at 9pm #lets all pray she doesnt wake up with something stupid drawn on her face tomorrow #mira is just having fun tho shes reading to everyone every cute :) saiph interrupts with commentary (causing further annoyance from polaris #al is mostly observing like hes just happy to be hanging out. also having al be the most in the shadows because of course #but he likes watching his friends interact. but also hey man his eyes are up there #anyway i tried my best w the colors here so hopefully it looks okay. i wanted something warm but also kinda dark to give off late night vib #i hope tumblr doesnt kill the quality tho! it looks kinda blurry rn but it might be ok when i hit post #if it fits well i might make it my new blog header too? maybee #^_^

Since we've had the time recently, me and Jelly have decided to develop our characters a bit more!! Here's some silly sketches to go along with some of Cypress' character descriptions:))

Cypress is a skittish, viola-playing 12 year old that's nearly always seen alongside his "sibling" Wisteria, owning a ruffled up fox mask and wearing a sewed dark brown scarf. His favorite hobbies include playing his viola and singing backing vocals in songs with Wisteria, but he also sews and journals his many findings of different types of plants, being very interested in how they work and live. His relationship with Wisteria is very close, and although he's the same age as them, he tends to have an older-brother type role in their sibling-ship, always looking after them and letting them know when they've gone too far with their pranks on other kids. Cypress is known to be a constant overthinker as well, coming from his abusive home life he escaped from only recently. He's also very skeptical, and won't believe things at face value, also making him a bit stubborn. Although he's very book smart, he lacks many street smarts from being sheltered from his old friends, to barely being allowed outside until his recent escape.
