The drive from downtown Dubai to Khor Fakkan was dramatic and indelibly impressive. It was the leaving behind of a futuristic steely utopia, then past the desert landscapes to an enclave of Sharjah that is meditatively mountainous, opening up to the cyan-to-cerulean waters of the Gulf of Oman.

I hired a driver who came to pick me up from my hotel in downtown Dubai. It was around 7 am. We got to Khor Fakkan around 9:00 am, considering some slight traffic getting out of Dubai.

The first stop was at Sheesh Park. A lush green park surrounded by rounded ridges of the Hajar mountains that opened up in 2020. It has bbq picnic areas for families. There's a cafe by an 80 feet artificial waterfall. And winding staircase up the mountains to extensive walkways with panoramic views of the park.

This was a great recreational spot for families, hikers, or people just getting away from urban sprawls to breathe better and rejuvenate. However, I wouldn't say that this place is accessible to anyone who uses a wheelchair. Unless the individual or a personal caretaker can maneuver the wheelchair through uneven roads leading up to the cafe, it's not a hundred percent accessible.
