I love how safe all the juniors feel with Lan Sizhui. I know we like to give credit to the seniors being the duckling-sitters and they technically are but when the juniors are alone together, Lan Sizhui really is the protector of the bunch and it’s obvious how much they all trust him.
I think a large part of his purpose and happiness stems from helping others and being someone they can count on in difficult situations. There’s no ulterior motive of wanting to show off or act better than anyone in any way—he just wants to be strong and knowledgeable enough to help and protect, just like his seniors helped and protected him.

While I get why they didn't include it (because 4e fucked with the tieflings and now we have archdevil tieflings and the og hereditary tieflings in the same space, and the former are hogging the limelight) I think it would've been interesting to have Bhaal tieflings as a subrace option. They wouldn't look as flashy as the others - no horns, no technicolour skin or tail, for example (unless their mortal parent was a tiefling who looked like that, I guess) - but they would be highly inclined towards violence and murder. Deity descended planetouched are known for having birthmarks in the shape of their ancestor's holy sumbol, so maybe they'd have the Circle of Tears, or a bone dagger marked somewhere on their skin.
I mean, Durge's origin pretty much covers everything they'd bring to the table, so it's obsolete, but the thought stays in my head:
The first generation Bhaalspawn did reproduce: Abazigal had at least one son; Yaga-Shura was attempting to create half-giant progeny; most of the romance epilogues feature children (this was intentional, the original BG3 was supposed to have Charname's child as the protagonist, apparently). There were hundreds of Bhaalspawn who reached adulthood; many of them would've had the opportunity to marry or have children, knowingly or accidentally.
I've said this before, but again, the offspring of a quasi-deity and a mortal is a tiefling, genasi or aasimar and the divine blood may go dormant and activate generations down the line too. It's also not unknown for the planetouched to become pawns in their ancestor's games, and entire lineages (not simply the first half-outsider child alone) may be created intentionally.
Notably, Abazigal's son Draconis - a grandchild of Bhaal, and not a demigod - was not part of the giant prophecy his father, aunts and uncles were drowning the world in blood over (except as a pawn of his own half-mortal father, anyway). These planetouched mortal children would've been passed over unharmed and unnoticed (too unimportant on the divine stage). I wonder how many of Bhaal's grandchildren and great-grandchildren are running around? How many cousins might Orin have? How many nieces and nephews might have Bhaal's strings tied around them? Is resist Durge going to leave behind their sister/niece drama only to run into another one in the future?
(I am aware that it appears BG3 has ignored/handwaved away the existence/possibility of these guys: I don't care. BG2 left these plot threads and I will be taking then and running off with it.)

Headcanon: Elrond and Elros were nigh-inseparable and both had a strong sense of affinity with both their Elvish and Mannish heritage. They were similar in temperament, and could often predict what the other would do with extremely high accuracy—but Elros would never have predicted that Elrond would renounce mortality, and the freedom that came with it.
Elrond, on the other hand, knew perfectly well that Elros would make the choice that Eärendil couldn't. But they didn't look different afterwards, Elros aged even more slowly than his descendants and even remote ones couldn't grow beards or anything like that, much less Elros himself. For hundreds of years, he looked as he always had, he refused to wear a crown, he was also a lover of lore and a healer, etc.
Elrond and Elros didn't feel severed except by distance (at times—Elrond used to stay for long visits on Númenor). They did grow a bit more different with time and varying experiences, but still, were never opposites, and the difference in their most critical choice was kind of baffling to all but Elrond. For the vast bulk of Elros's half a millennium of life, their bond seemed unbreakable.
And it made their final parting all the worse :(

genuine question that's been bugging me about UDG but like
is it just me or does it feel like the whole events of that game (specifically from when komaru wakes up in the airship, to big bang monokuma getting destroyed) take place in the span of like. a few days.
probably something to be said about pacing issues and how "rushed" UDG feels as a story in everything but the tokomaru arc, but mostly i just find it funny that it basically might as well be the danganronpa equivalent of conker's bad fur day. so much shit happening in such a small window of time.

Who does the BoulGraham bean like spending time with most? Their Dads, Grandpa, their Uncles, or their Auntie?
Good question! When he was still a bitty, he gravitated towards his parents and Cody the most. That doesn’t mean he minds spending time with his grandpa, uncles (including the bots) and aunty however. One time actually fell asleep with Kade on the couch together after they saw him snoring away there (he had rough night shift). Basically crawled onto the couch with his teddy and fell asleep next to him.
However, once older, he started butting heads with his sire (Graham) due to Gram being quite overprotective and prefers to be around his carrier (Boulder). But even then, he kind of withdrew into himself for quite a while due to personal reasons. The fact both Boulder and Gram started to somehow force them (albeit unintentionally) into wanting him to follow their footsteps and become an engineer didn’t help.
(There’s a lot more information on everyone’s familial dynamics, but then it would kind of become a messy essay, haha.)

Your the one that had all the unhinged DP X DC ships, right?
One if my Prompts recently spat out Frostbite/Alfred (Old Ice as I've been calling it) and wanted to know your opinion
Tumblr media
definitely wasn't me you're thinking of, I don't do anything with DP x DC shdfkjlafs
BUT I LOVE THINKING ABOUT SHIPS I'VE NEVER HEARD OF BEFORE SO LET'S DO THIS!!!
also disclaimer I have seen one (1) piece of official DC media so literally all my assumptions are based off of stuff I've learned by seeing other stuff afshdkjlsaf
these two 100% have a vibe, and I'm struggling to put words to it?? but I see the vision?? like these two not-quite-dads but darn it they're gonna try and keep their kids who share one braincell safe and happy
also they've got a cute thing where it's like Alfred looks like a soft grandpa who just tells stories about the war but he's absolutely a BA underneath, and then Frostbite looks terrifying on the surface but is just a huge softie
anyway at the same time I HC Frostbite as aroace so that kind of conflicts there, plus it's hard for me to envision any sort of DP x DC ship bc I don't do anything with it halkfsd
but like fr? I would absolutely ship this platonically, easy
~~~Send me a ship and I'll give you an uneducated take for the ages!
The phenomenon of enjoying something as a kid and then getting older with more complex emotions and thoughts and a more life experience and revisiting the thing you loved when you were a child and having a strong emotional response to it?
It's one of the reasons I love Monster High so much.
I remember, as a kid, loving how edgy and cool and unique everything about MH was. Draculaura was my favorite character. I loved watching the movies when they aired on Nick and eventually got a 13 Wishes DVD. I only had one MH doll and it was Ghouls Rule Cleo and she looked so different compared to all my other toys.
I loved Barbie too. I loved lots of other things. But as I got older, I always seemed to return to Monster High for some reason. I kept getting drawn back in as a tween and as a teen because it just felt so different. MH always felt so different.
I decided about maybe 2 or so years ago to rewatch the entire catalog of MH movies and webisodes. And I cried. And I still cry when I watch a lot of the movies.
For the little kid who felt so misunderstood and alone and was constantly branded as loud and annoying and extra Monster High was a place where those things would not have mattered and could have even just been seen as a part of who I am. For the kid who never got to express themselves through their fashion they wanted to. For the kid that felt like they wanted so very badly to be anyone other than themself. Monster High was really the only school that has ever accepted me.
And as an "adult" who has reflected a lot on those things and why I am the way I am now and who I'll be in the future, I cry and will probably continue to cry when I watch the hybrids support each other and the fused ghouls or watch Frankie sacrifice herself to save all of her friends. All of the friends she has found family in. I'll keep crying when I watch WDGFIL and see the spell placed on Draculaura be broken by just a box of shit that reminds her of all the time she's spent with Clawd.
This emotional reaction that feels a little funny when I think about how the whole franchise at that point was mostly meant for like 12-year-old little girls just makes sense on further inspection.
When you live in a world where everything that makes you stand out or look or sound or feel different than everyone else is seen as bad and wrong and worth suppressing and despising, the world of Monster High just feels so safe and wonderful.
When Frankie's limbs flying off can be inconvenient but also useful and normal and fine. When Clawdeen helps Draculaura put on her makeup because she can't use mirrors. When Abbey is misunderstood by everyone and then given the space to cry actually be understood and appreciated.
When you see how all of these different kinds of monsters have "freaky flaws" and drastic parts of their appearance or abilities and interests that are treated so regularly or even celebrated and accepted or accommodated and they are reinforcing that they are fine as is. They are enough
You may begin to feel that, maybe, you might be enough too.
Hey y'all, here's something my server and i talk about a lot in the tugs/ttte section that i refuse to believe i have to clarify for some of you.
Comparing a slur used against an opressed minority to the word monster is absolutely absurd and appalling.
Also writing characters to shout slurs across a marine yard at eachother under the guise that they are "in the 1920's" is also appalling.
Fuck you, do better everyone in the fandom.
