In high school I'd lay in my bed and watch hours of Grey's Anatomy. I still have a video on my phone of me uncontrollably sobbing when George got hit by a bus and died. When I read back through this I thought maybe I should add a spoiler alert before saying that but at this point his character has been dead at least 10 years and well everyone in Grey's dies so, well, that felt unnecessary and I didn't like the aesthetic of spoiler alert in all caps with a bunch of asterisks. My dad always said how I was a religious "bed sitter". To this day he will call me and ask where I'm sitting in hopes of further proving his theory because I mean come on he's an old white man, so he loves to try and prove how he is right. I was always on my bed, not because I was lazy but because my room felt like the only safe and beautiful place in my house and so if I was in my room (which I most always was) it was either sit on my bed, the floor, or a wooden chair to a desk I sat at all of maybe 6 times because that was where my mom would put my folded laundry for me to put away and since my mom had undiagnosed ADHD at the time she did laundry almost every day which meant there were always clothes on the chair (I think you get the idea) So thus my faith grew as a "bed sitter" in the safety and comfort of a bed frame that my aunt had as a child on a mattress that my grandparents got me for my birthday when I was young enough that I certainly should not have been excited about the birthday excursion to Building 19 to buy a mattress but I was a future "bed sitter" so I was absolutely ecstatic. Now that bed has been donated, the mattress is probably in some landfill, and strangers live in that house.

In college I'd watch Grey's Anatomy with my roommate who then became my best friend and has since become an ex friend because she ironically enough is getting married to my ex who is currently in medical school. I think there might be value to putting more words to this part but right now I feel tired and don't know how to say what I want to say here so instead I am just saying I don't know what else to say.

Tonight I watched Grey's Antomy for the first time since my aunt's bed was donated, the mattress was thrown into the landfill, the strangers moved into my house and I lost my best friend. The familiar sound of the theme song (which I tried to type out but after typing one too many do do do's I realized I didn't know how to convey the sound with simple letters on a page) brought back memories of my old four posted squeaky bed frame, and high school, and my dead grandparents, and my house that my parents sold when they got divorced, and having a reliable and consistent best friend. Hey it's not everyday that you watch 4 episodes of a show in one sitting and you actually feel more yourself afterwords. That's certainly something to be grateful for.
