HELLO AGAIN, EDGELORDS
A year has passed since we last converged to decide upon the ultimate edgelord. In the end, the utterly obvious most voted victor was Shadow the Hedgehog, and Zuko in the loser's bracket. But what of all the edgelords that have emerged since then? What of all the old edgelords that have rediscovered? And what about the edgelords that demand a rematch? This simply cannot do! What we need...
Tumblr media
More details below the cut!!!
Hello everybody! It's good to see you again! And you heard me right- this month I'll be hosting the second annual edgelord battle bracket!!! While I realize that the bracket craze has pretty much died down at this point, I had suggested last year that this was going to be an annual thing, and I intend to keep my promise! More than that, this bracket brought a lot of people joy last year, and I'd love to keep that going!
So- how's this going to work?
Midnight tonight I'll release the submission form, and it will remain open for a full week (until the 14th). The official bracket will begin shortly after that. The rules of submission are identical to before. That being said, there are two things I'd like to mention:
This year, I'll be taking reasoning from the submissions and using it for support on the actual poll posts. This means that the more concrete reasoning to give when submitting, the more likely your character is to win! With that being said, don't feel pressured to write paragraphs, especially if your character is popular, since I'll only being choosing one or two reasoning submissions. If a character is submitted enough to qualify but has no reasoning, I'll provide a brief description from my own research.
And as for the second point, this year, and this year only, one character from Princess Tutu will automatically be accepted into the bracket. Last year, the tutu fandom made up a huge percent of interaction with this bracket, and introduced me to an incredible story I'd never even heard of beforehand. To honor those fond memories, one out of the 32 competitor spots is reserved for one character from Princess Tutu. But who will that character be? The brooding, lonely Princess Kraehe? The malicious and cruel Raven-blood Mytho? The manipulative and monstrous Raven himself? Or maybe that other guy
With all this in mind, I hope everyone enjoys Edgelord Battle Bracket 2024! See you on the battlefield!

What's princess tutu??
Tumblr media Tumblr media
OH BOY YOUVE OPENED THE FLOOD GATES NOW LET ME TELL U ABT MY FAVORITE SHOW, PRINCESS TUTU (take 2 bc i lost my old writing abt this.)
I think it’s a bit funny this is one of my OTHER obsessions other than Ultrakill considering how different they are, but eh. I can’t guarantee this will be everyone’s cup of tea.
Tumblr media
Princess Tutu is an anime released in 2002 (it had its 20 year anniversary recently :D) and is somewhat well-known (but also kinda not..) among fans of mahou shoujo. It has only two seasons and is one of my favorite animes ever. It also has a manga series that was released I think alongside it however its story is different from the anime and I hear it isn’t as good as the anime. While it is not action-packed or full of bright colors it tells a story that resonates with me so deeply and made me rethink what makes a good story. It has a very soft and delicate look to it, and while it can get very fucking dark it can be very sweet and cute. It also inspired my love of ballet and returned a love of classical music to me that I had lost, and is what inspired my Ultradanse AU in MANY fucking ways. My partner Valentine is the one who showed it to me and it changed me fundamentally, and I showed it to Dex and it ruined his life (positively). So now I hope by dumping about this, it interests you in watching it!
VERY LONG WRITING UNDER THE CUT. I AM SO SORRY.
The story follows the heroine Duck, and three other characters named Fakir, Rue and Mytho. It takes place in Gold Crown Town, a place where fairytales become reality. However, Gold Crown Town is only like this because it is under the influence of Drosselmeyer, an author of immense power who died before he could finish writing his story The Prince and the Raven and is now using the town and its residents to orchestrate his story to give it a conclusion. The Prince and the Raven from the book escape their story and come into reality, and to seal the Raven away he shatters his heart into shards that scatter themselves across the town. He succeeds, but the Prince is now without emotion or feeling, barely able to think for himself. He now studies dance at Gold Crown Academy, where the other three main characters study as well.
Drosselmeyer has given the main four different character roles, each one meant to end in their demise or a tragic end. They’re meant to play the roles, submit to the fate of the character, and fully believe that they were that character from the beginning even if that wasn’t true. Drosselmeyer may or may not have influenced and altered their histories and memories, and probably altered their feelings as well so it can be brought into question how much is under Drosselmeyer’s influences.
Drosselmeyer wants this story to end in tragedy, to end in sadness, as to him that would be the best ending. The characters within it though are very complex people, and rather than to succumb to their fates, everyone is trying to escape it. Princess Tutu plays a lot with defying destiny.
Duck plays the role of Princess Tutu. While the title of the role she plays is the title of the series, in Drosselmeyer’s story and in his plans, Princess Tutu is a minor character who is only meant to return the Prince’s heart shards to him, confess her love and then immediately die. It’s a cruel fate, as Duck wants nothing more than to do the right thing and help the prince and others by returning his shards to him where they belong so he may feel and think for himself again. Being Princess Tutu is conflicting for her, because it doesn’t just affect her fate and others but if she wasn’t Princess Tutu she would no longer be able to dance so exquisitely as she wants. Not being Princess Tutu means a lot of things for her, it also means she could forfeit her ability to be a girl. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention? Duck is not even a human girl. She was born a duck and ends the story as a duck. She’s not particularly skilled in much and isn’t very special at all. And yet, what makes her so great is her kindness and resilience. You don’t have to be particularly skilled or perfect at anything to change things or be loved, it’s okay to be average or “just a duck.” It’s fine to be flawed, you can still move someone's heart and change your fate.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rue plays the role of Princess Kraehe, I don’t think I can really call her an antagonist as she isn’t really one to me. Princess Kraehe is the daughter of the Raven, and she desires the prince and actively works against Princess Tutu to stop him from regaining his heart shards, or just to mess with the process and use it to further her goals. However, Rue makes me SO FUCKING SAD. The Raven leads Rue to believe Mytho is the only one who’d be able to love someone as ugly as her, and only believes she is ugly because she is human in appearance instead of a bird. He gives her this insecurity and desperation that makes her easy to manipulate as he plans to “help” her secure the prince for herself. But she really does love Mytho, and has loved him for all her life. I wish I could go on and on about her, she’s one of my favorite characters ever and she makes me CRY. SHEEE ONLY WANTED TO BE LOVED THATS ALL SHE WANTED AAGGHGHHH
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fakir plays the role of the Prince’s knight, and while I thought he was the antagonist when I first watched the way he develops over the course of the story really makes that idea fade fast. Hell, I even forgot I hated him when I first watched, and now he’s on my top 10 favorite emo boys. He seems like a total dickweed at first and has some.. Kinda vaguely gay scenes with Mytho at the beginning, but he’s far more than that. He admires Mytho and when he was younger, swore he wanted to be Mytho’s knight to protect him, and doesn’t want Mytho to get hurt. Having emotions means he’s susceptible to getting hurt, but there’s more to that. Fakir, playing the role of the knight and believing in his fate, he fears that fate and what is to befall him. Similar to Princess Tutu, he is also destined to die, to be sliced through the chest in battle. He was even born with a birthmark that resembles a scar across his chest. If Mytho has his heart shards returned to him, the story goes into motion, and the closer he gets to his fate. He wants to protect Mytho and keep him safe, but he also doesn’t want to die. While everyone plays a very important role in the story’s finale, he plays a very big one howweeever I don’t wanna spoil what that is or some abilities he has. :]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mytho, my dear sweet boy and his fucked up haircut, is the prince. He doesn’t play a role, he IS the prince from the story. He exists as this heroic figure that is meant to be perfect, and he has a desire to protect and save others. For most of the story though he lacks his emotions and gains them back slowly, but kinda just gets get pushed and dragged around by Rue and Fakir who are both, for different selfish kinds of love and in different ways, keep him from regaining feelings and dictating what he does. Maybe I’m silly for this interpretation, but he is kind of used like a tool or a doll sometimes rather than a person. Regaining his emotions can hurt him in more ways than one and yet he still wants all of his emotions back. He kind of goes from holding no opinions or thoughts of his own at all to forming ones can be conflicting in the moment. He also gets hurt when Kraehe taints a heart shard with raven’s blood which gives him a touch of evil and flaws he did not begin with. I don’t think he gets the same amount of a transformation of character as the other three, but in the end when his emotions are regained he becomes a bit of an imperfect prince.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love the characters, a lot. A totally normal amount. BUT. I gotta say, Princess Tutu has some of the prettiest but also the coolest scenes, and they’re good art inspiration for me. I really gotta go out of my way to clip my favorite things, because some of my favorite things haven’t been clipped and put on Youtube somewhere. Here’s some gifs from the series that I like

okay thanks for hearing me ramble have a nice day

Hello Friends, here is my Glorious Almost-1000-Words take on the Fallen Timeline for Your Perusal
TL;DR: In the Fallen Timeline, it is not Link who dies to Ganondorf, but Zelda. Blinded by despair over his lost love, Link leaves Hyrule and becomes a wandering mercenary, changing his name to Raven and eventually ending up in the Kingdom of Labrynna. Because the princess died unmarried and without heirs or surviving relatives, after Ganon’s sealing away by the remaining Sages (which remained incomplete due to the loss of the Sage of Time, which is why the Imprisoning War took so long and was so devastating) the Bloodline of Hylia no longer exists. The people of this timeline also despise the Hero of Time (except for Odysseus’s family, due to knowing the whole story) and think of him as a deserter.
Alright break it down time:
Ganon kills Zelda and not Link for two reasons. Firstly, after studying the triforce and the mythos of Hyrule he has become aware that the Hero’s Spirit reincarnates, but the Princess technically doesn’t. Secondly, because he suspects that Link is, in fact, the chosen hero, were he to strike him down the gods might send a divine justice and have Link heroically kill Ganon with his final breath. However, if he were to let Link live but have to watch as Zelda slowly dies with nothing he can do, Link might give into despair and abandon his quest.
And this is exactly what happens. Link is too despondent to kill Ganondorf. He wasn’t fighting for some nebulous ideal, but for Zelda. And besides, Ganondorf also destroys the Master Sword (if you’ll recall, in ALTTP lore it was forged- or in this case, reforged- by the Sages during the imprisoning war). So he leaves the Sages to defeat Ganon themselves, and in shame flees Hyrule. He can’t bear to have his name- Link- connected to the Hero who Failed, so he changes it to Raven and becomes a wandering mercenary, trying to atone for his failure. (I always thought that Sir Raven from the Oracles Manga looked like the Hero of Time and also gave off the general vibes, so this is how I connect that.) After a time, he ends up in Labrynna in the service of Queen Ambi, and serves her faithfully. Shortly after the events of the past in Oracle of Ages, a horrible plague sweeps through Labrynna and Roperi’s father, her only living family, dies. Raven decides to adopt her, and when she is grown and he is old they travel back to Hyrule, where he tells her his true story. She ends up becoming the great-great-great-grandmother of the Hero of Legend, and that is why out of all the people of Hyrule, Link and his Uncle’s family are the only people in Hyrule who do not hate the Hero of Time.
Because Zelda died without any heirs or living family, the Bloodline of Hylia no longer exists in the Fallen Timeline. This means that the family line of the New Princess Zelda (the Zelda from ALTTP and the Oracles) does not have the evil-sealing power of old. She does have some powers, however they were mostly taught to her by her Sheikah tutors or stem from her status as the Sage of Time (a duty that has no ties as to whether or not one is descended from Hylia). Speaking of, in the Fallen Timeline the Sheikah take their job from a 10 to a 10,000 in terms of security of the Royal Family- and that is why they are hardly mentioned in the Fallen Timeline Games.
Additionally, because Zelda as the Sage of Time was killed and therefore unable to join the other Sages in sealing away Ganondorf, their seal on him is incredibly weak compared to the one in the endings of the Successful Timelines’ Ocarina of Time. That’s why it only lasts around 200 years or so, in comparison to the 500 year seal in Twilight Princess and the 350 year seal in Wind Waker (i made these numbers up). In addition, they had to Reforge the Master Sword, as it shattered in Ganon’s failed defeat, but without Hylia’s Blessing (since there’s no one to give Hylia’s Blessing) is is much much weaker than in the Unified and Successful Timelines- which is why in ALTTP and ALBW you have to temper it, and why in the Era of Decline (the era of the original zelda games) it is no longer referred to as the Master Sword, simply the Magic Sword.
Finally, the people of the Fallen Timeline (with the exception of the family of Odysseus, Graffiti, and Genesis- who are all directly related to each other) absolutely despise the Hero of Time. Had he fallen to Ganon’s blade, they would have forgiven him- it wasn’t his fault, they’d say, he was merely a boy. But the fact that he abandoned his duties as Hero and fled to another country to escape his failure is completely inexcusable in their eyes- especially since they had lost their princess, as well. In the fallen timeline, children are not told the glowing myths of the Hero of Time that they are in the Successful Timelines. Instead, they are told the dark, cautionary tales of the Traitor Hero, who fled his country and left it to rot.

princess tutu re-watch, episode 17
Evil Raven: where the FUCK is that heart, I'm so hangry right now
Rue: Uhhhh, Princess Tutu keeps interfering, and--
Evil Raven: DADDY DIDN'T RAISE NO FRIKKIN' WHINERS, GET OUT THERE AND BUST YOUR BUTT TO BRING ME MY DINNER
meanwhile, back at the ranch, Ahiru is internally googling "how do I deal with demonic possession?" and coming up with zero hits when she is interrupted by a dramatic dude on a bull. Somewhat surprisingly, the bull is not also a student.
OH SHIT IT'S THIS GUY HAHAHAHAHA
between his declaration that he is "a true prince" and his lackey fanning rose petals around him, he'd fit right in on Revolutionary Girl Utena
Femio (for that is indeed his name): I'm a real Don Juan! Time to up my game and speak mostly French in spite of my obviously Spanish theme!
gosh, Ahiru is spending a lot of time naked in this particular out-of-the-way fountain.
Ahiru tries to convince Rue not to be evil, but their tete-a-tete is interrupted by Femio dancing to "I'm Sexy And I Know It" while his lackey carries a boombox on his shoulder
Rue: Wow, I hate you, great job.
Femio: Ohohohoho, another conquest!
Femio invades the dance studio half-naked and demands a solo, lolololol, and does the Robot and the Electric Slide to demonstrate.
Femio: EYYYYYYYY, MACARENA! stikes a pose
Femio: Alas, I am too avant-garde for this studio--the price of following my HEART--
At the word "heart", Mytho wakes up from his coma enough to sign I LOVE YOU PLEASE SEND HELP before collapsing
everyone thinks Ahiru and Femio should date solely for the drama, lololol
Neko-sensei: Amazing technique, Mytho, but I'd prefer if you survived your next performance.
Evil Mytho drags Rue for offering to get a heart by herself
Rue: Trust me, I have just the sucker in mind
Fakir: WHO KEEPS VANDALIZING BOOKS IN THE LIBRARY?
creepy cryptid at the window: lolololol!
Uzura: surprise drum solo zura!
random megane guy from previous episodes: WILL YOU BE QUIET ALREADY?
(for better or worse, "love-love-zura" is one of the things that immediately comes to mind whenever I think of this show)
Rue's seduction attempt falls hilariously flat because Femio can't handle the concept of monogamy, lololol
Fakir (holding a squirming Uzura): WHO TAUGHT YOU THOSE WORDS, YOUNG LADY?… oh, no, is this Charon's payback for all the times I sassed him as a kid??
Forced to choose between Tutu and Kraehe, Femio.exe has stopped responding. He is trampled by the running of the bulls as Tutu and Kraehe gracefully leap to safety
Kraehe: you know what? Fuck it. vanishes in a flock of crows
Tutu: My work here is done. graceful curtsey
Fakir: where the hell did all these bulls come from?
Ahiru: Literally no idea!
Uzura: RIDE 'EM COWBOY ZURA! Fakir: Ignore her, she's just doing it for attention. I did the same thing when I was her age.
Ahiru re-enacts Mytho's message and Fakir.exe has stopped responding. The bulls shuffle ominously, sensing weakness.
Ahiru: Oh, did I forget to mention, it's from Mytho!
Fakir: Holy shit, do not scare me like that!! I thought I was going to have to deal with FEELINGS!
Mytho: Too bad you didn't have enough… animal magnetism to capture that guy's heart, Rue. *rimshot*
Drosselmeyer: OOOOOH, nice one! Hahahaha, you're so fucked!

dumb question: could you elaborate on what you meant when you mentioned the character relationships regressing in princess tutu?
honestly, maybe "regressed" wasn't exactly the right word. the progression gained in s1 still exists - ahiru has gotten to know a bit more about rue and believes that rue is still somewhere in the kraehe persona, fakir no longer wishes to deny mytho his heart, and most critically, fakir and ahiru are now allies. none of those major developments have been set back.
however, literally all these relationships have flattened by virtue of the show simply not choosing to focus on them. rue appears to no longer feel ambivalent about princess tutu (which is sort of gestured at as being part of her retreat into the kraehe role/the raven's daughter, but there's no actual attention drawn to it.) we get next to nothing about how fakir feels about mytho other than "well we gotta get his heart to him and solve the raven's blood problem." I DO think fakir and ahiru have gotten closer, but their relationship is a rather straightforward friendship. it's still a little complex, but it lacks the drive and relative complexity of s1.
this would not be a problem if fakir/ahiru was a background dynamic to all the other ongoing dynamics, btw. they don't need to always be in a fraught ideological struggle. I think their dynamic is cute! but given that there's just very little complexity in any relationship in the show at this point, it does feel like a regression. ptutu has always been a kid's show, and so I never expected a crazy level of complex characterization, but there was a sense of forward momentum and struggle between clashing personalities and motives in s1 😭 compared to that, s2 has felt so empty.
well, except for one dynamic. and that's between rue and raven's blood mytho.
i will say straight up that this dynamic is WEIRD. not for any actual reason of the dynamic itself (in a vacuum it's a fascinating dynamic) but for the writing surrounding it. ive talked EXTENSIVELY about how much I hate the choice to make mytho be possessed by an Evil Self, and this is another extension of that. we know raven's blood mytho is just meant to disappear like a puff of smoke by the end of the plot. in essence, this undercuts literally any and all screentime he gets. we know that, because he is a plot obstacle, he is just not supposed to be taken seriously. his scenes with rue are meant to establish HER as a poor little meow meow, and not to establish him as a genuine character with motivations and feelings of his own.
and of course rue, come season 2, has been established as being pretty much entirely princess kraehe. her motive to possess mytho has been further fleshed out as being part of her backstory as an emotionally abused girl who wishes to free her father and gain a happy ending with mytho.
I do feel this comes out of nowhere and undercuts some earlier stuff with her character. however, it's not a horrible change. even if it's not what I wanted or liked about her, it DOES say stuff about her and lend texture to how she views mytho. however, some of this was unintentional by the writers. rather than being only tragic, she just seems pathetic and sad. I'm wishing for her to both break free of her father AND break free of her idealization of mytho. both her father and raven's blood mytho treat her like shit, and she doesn't care if regular mytho loves her so long as she can possess him. i want so badly for that mindset to go away for her, but from what I know, it doesn't.
all that aside, that brings us to the one dynamic relationship in s2 so far, and that's between rue and raven's blood mytho. as discussed, he is basically a new character. he doesn't feel like he is at all related to regular mytho, even inversely. the only other character he Could be related to is the raven, but given that he's not literally the raven possessing mytho's body, his characterization tells us very little about either character. so... not great for the idea of Existing dynamics progressing. they had to invent a new guy for rue to have character development with!
I do like it. they're mutually using each other, which is interesting. I like their little plotting sessions, and I like rue's continual wish that he will at least love her a little, even though she's mostly concerned with actual mytho rather than him. they feel like fun, toxic allies, and you get a great sense of how they view each other. they're both characterized quite interestingly in their moments together. their mutual ruthlessness is put on great display.
but well... we get a good sense of how rue feels about regular mytho. we know exactly what she sees in him. mytho himself? we don't get his viewpoint on hardly anything.
now, this is justifiable from a watsonian standpoint because of his heart situation. he isn't himself, and is spending most of his time fighting against his evil alter ego. but s1 mytho also had an incomplete heart, and we got a good sense of how he viewed other people! he went from unquestionably allowing fakir and rue to overrule him to asserting his own emotions against them. we see that he was drawn by princess tutu. it seemed like he liked fakir and ahiru at least somewhat. and even before he had his heart back, he still pretty obviously had interests and had his own viewpoint on fakir and rue.
now? nothing. we know he wishes to see tutu, isn't interested in rue's attempts to control him, and that he dislikes his raven's blood persona. that's it. we don't know how his views on anyone else have shifted. a lot has happened - it would be really natural for his perspectives on everyone to change! but we don't see evidence of it. the only time we see the Real Mytho is when he is desperately struggling against the raven's blood.
so yeah. theres just less dynamism between any of the four main characters. it's really not great.

Await hold on!! What if...
Fakir kidnapping Mytho and holding him captive, with him being of Drosselmeyer's bloodline, was what caused the Story to not move? (As intentional or subconscious as it could have been on Fakir's side.)
Because Drosselmeyer's goal with it was to trap the characters in a perpetually reoccurring cycle of Despair, right? And Fakir shattering Mytho's heart and keeping it shattered (and letting the Sword of Lohengrin rust, only to later reforge it IN HIS OWN BLOOD which is of Drosselmeyer's own line) stopped the Story, because the point of the Story was to endlessly repeat the cycle of "everyone loves the Prince - their feelings wake the Raven - the conflicts free the Raven - the Prince fights the Raven - the Prince loses his heart". (The shard that is soaked in Raven blood is Love for more reasons than one, because Love takes on many forms, and is easily tainted, as Edel has said.) By suspending Mytho in nonfeeling darkness, Fakir effectively stops the cycle of Despair.
Enter Duck, whom Drosselmeyer personally seeks out and engages by giving her the Shard of the Prince's Hope - a both real and false hope which is to both force the Story to move, make the characters blindly believe they can succeed, but also deepen the Despair the characters would feel during the climax as Hope is unavoidably betrayed. Drosselmeyer gaslights Duck and makes her temporarily forget her origin, causing her to better adapt to the Story, which probably in some way also influences the memories of other characters, including Fakir, as the Cogs begin to turn.
This would mean that Fakir, over the course of the series, and likely more instinctively than not, stops, resumes, rewinds, breaks and resumes again, and finally completely reconstructs the Story's original narrative, in that order.
Note that he meets Siegfried just around the time he causes his parents' death as well, albeit after the fact, so around the time he stops writing (actively, that we know of).
For there to be creation, destruction must occur first. Chances of failure, of re-establishing the cycle of Despair are grand, so no wonder Fakir is so wary of Tutu, and so reluctant to agree with her mission, and believe in their success. Once he does, Duck's own Hope and Faith light the way, and not the borrowed Hope, which is also a product of Drosselmeyer's writing just as much as the Prince himself.
Fakir likewise renames Siegfried to Mytho when he 'claims' him from Drosselmeyer, and personally shatters his heart and traps him in protective limbo.
Fakir also damages the Sword of Lohengrin twice, once before the beginning of the series, (inadvertently or not,) and the second time when he breaks it while enabling Tutu to win the Shard of Love from Kreahe. (Not to mention he also inspires her dance confession, because he is the one to tell her not to speak the words of love and disappear.) A sword that is meant to belong to the Knight from the Story, but is in the end wielded by Mytho. (So is Mytho/Siegfried a knight as much as he is a Prince?) The Sword's two halves transform into two swans (a motif also on its hilt) that end up pulling the flying carriage at the end of the series. The Sword is only ever reforged in blood once, it being Fakir's (bathed in the blood of the Prince's enemy, god, captor, friend, and protector). Mytho reconstructs the two broken halves by summoning the swans to face the Raven. It is also partially wielded by Rue, who slays the Raven together with Mytho.
I'm not sure how I want to end this post, but I had to out these drabbles in writing.
Also how come, while even Fakir's and Autor's memories were altered, and complacency encouraged by the Story's influence, Charon appears to have forgotten nothing at all points in time?? If even Drosselmeyer's own Heir is made to forget his origin, and his puppet of destruction (Tutu) as well? (Autor logic-ed his way to the right conclusions.) The only other people who seem to be immune to the Story's hypnosis are the Bookmen.
Was Charon secretly a Bookman who deffected from the Order to raise the Heir to Drosselmeyer in hopes of winning against Drosselmeyer once and for all? So that this poor child would neither die as a result of Drosselmeyer's sadism, nor suffer from either his ability or the Bookmen's prosecution? So that he would be the savior of the new age?
I must be reading too much into the meta... (^^')

Ares in Pjo/maybe Hc/ I just ramble
Might possibly make a Ares post to add to the new episode dropping tomorrow because hehehehehehe Ares :3.
Never mind I’m talking about Ares now. Glad to make a longer post :3
I… have my thoughts about him and how he’s portrayed in Pjo (seriously what happened my dudes-?) blah blah blah I’m not quite qualified to yap about it because I’m not a super cool mythology classics trained interpreter or whatever but I am a person on the internet with a surface level idea on Greek Mythology.
First off, would like to say. Biker Ares is such a silly concept that is so fun. I never thought about him in biker concept when going modern; I personally would’ve immediately gone to a punk leaning or shifted him to a more rocker (though all of those communities have pretty cool overlap). But I always sat there thinking about Ares and got the image of punk.
But, I can say- sleazy Ares, now with more info about actual mythos. It’s. A choice. Like Hera (who also had a thing happen to her that I personally don’t like becusdbeisnfianfjedj I really like Hera) but Ares- uh, dude is like historically loves his girlfriend, his kids, and his mom. My man would not be as.. icky to his kids (what was even going on during SoM?) and totally would’ve.. cared more about them? Or be shown to have more explicit worry and concern and pride in them (thinking of that one daughter he had and the son mentioned in the Iliad)? But again might just be my read on it. Of course there’s stuff I love about it, he’s totally ravenous, totally embodies that war spirit that I think of him as (if anyone wants my take I really feel like between all the war deities I know, Athena is the general/high ranking militaries god, Ares is the soldiers god, Enyo is that battle frenzy bloodlust we’d associate with Ares, etc, etc). While also being caring.
When I talk about these Gods in Pjo I think of them and how my brain characterizes them in, their sort of more myth based part, the varying versions of themselves’s from their ‘forms’ in other regions. I still have them in my re-imagined Olympus staying on Olympus, but Gods still somewhat reflect their realms/domains.
Ares somewhat holds qualities of all the bad things of modern war, while also our modern look on wars of the past (specifically like, pre-civil war) and our view on them. Along with his myth alignment, and somewhat taking little bits from other forms.
Also he is a mother’s boy. No idea if it’s canon but I say it’s canon, he loves Hera :3 and his girlfriend. (Whenever I write about Aphrodite along with bringing up that war form of her I’d also like to say that I’m fully supporting the eye beauty of beholder appearance shift). He checks in on his kids much more frequently, whether inadvertently or very obviously (we see him offer the core trio practically McDonald’s and giving Clarisse the boat thing, and calling her).
Okay I’m very tired and I don’t know what I wrote because all of this is like almost midnight for me so uhhh. Maybe I’ll have more brain thoughts at some other point.
Also my room is so grossly warm, I live in a colder area but my room is at sub-tropical temps due to my snake (who I love dearly, his name is Wilbur) but I swear I have to open my window not to overheat constantly, while I’ve adjusted to the heat In the room that everywhere else in the house is cold :[
Okay goodnight.

I’m 👀👀 about your thoughts on a tutu movie
After writing all this and looking back on it I realize I don't suggest much of an actual plot and more or less just what could've been and how it could've worked, I'll have to give actual plots for a possible movie some more thought lol
If you take it's basic concept, Princess Tutu is similar to Cardcaptor Sakura (you don't have to have seen it to understand, I'll explain) in the way that it's about a young girl suddenly being thrust into the position of a magical girl with the goal of retrieving something; for Sakura it's Clow cards, for Tutu it's Mytho's heart shards. After retrieving all of the cards and shards, respectfully, they both go against great forces.
Where I'm going with this - CCS had 2 movies IIRC, and they're set up in the way that you don't have to watch them to understand the show. They followed the same idea with the same characters but were one-off concepts and the events in the movies were not later mentioned in the show. This was also common for other anime movies at the time (90s-00s) too, many such examples of that. For CCS, the idea was that she just found an additional card that was not mentioned in the show. Basically what I'm getting at here is that they aren't incredibly canon but still exist nonetheless, and how canon they are can be debated
So my simple idea for a Princess Tutu movie is Tutu finding another random heart shard that isn't mentioned in the original anime itself. Given how things like curiosity are treated as emotions (and how Mytho has like.... multiple sad emotions returned to him i.e. loneliess and sorrow), there's lots of room for us to be creative with what heart shard she is after, since we aren't just limited to a single happy/angry/sad emotion basis. We can go wild with this one
Now if we were actually still in 02/03, in-between season 1 and season 2 would've been perfect for the movie to air. Season 2 actually aired relatively soon after the first season (IIRC season 1 ended on Nov. 08 2002 and season 2 began Nov. 15 2002 in Japan) so that's not a loooot of time but regardless, this would've been a good point for the movie because it marks the beginnng stages of the turning point for Ahiru and Fakir's relationship, and also marks the beginning stages of when we see Mytho's corruption / Raven Mytho). The movie could've had some additional bonding and funtiemz between Ahiru and Fakir - and perhaps some additional character development for them both / one of them or another chapter like Rue or Mytho himself (actually I just thought, the movie could use its time to create more relationships too, like fleshing out Rue and Fakir's relationship, which doesn't happen in the actual anime, etc so on and so forth)
Now for the actual plot... well, I confess I'm not entirely sure, lol. The anime is super creative and really goes in some unexpected directions (at least when I first watched it, I was NOT anticipating things like Fakir turning into a tree for a hot minute) so that also leaves a lot to the imagination and endless possibilities... I'm thinking maybe something unexpected, like how the final heart shards were in the town's own towers or how Tutu's amulet was a shard. Maybe a heart shard at the academy or some other location you wouldn't really think of (again just given PTUTU's directions, you can get super creative with this, I'm just trying to think here)
If you do read all of this and have an idea I would love to actually hear it lol. I'll have to add on when I think about an actual idea a little more ! I hope this was interesting to read

OKAY FINISHED SEASON ONE TITANS
score: 6.5/10
pros: the costuming fucked (specifically whoever did kori), and the cinematography was really good. lots of shows suffer from not having good lighting espeically in dark scenes but i think this show actually did pretty well in that regard. the concept behind the show was interesting, i liked the focus on raven. seeing all of the secondary characters, like doom patrol or donna troy, was probably kinda baiting but I liked it so whatever. i loved kori so much the concept behind her story of being an amnesaic assassin who befriended her target was SO good and she was so fun. the actress for raven was phenomenal. honestly i think all the actors did a pretty good job considering this show is… well d-rated for a reason. the mythos of Gotham was really well done, i don’t know how to explain it tbh but i did like it.
cons: WAY WAY WAY WAY TOO ROBIN FOCUSED. season one could have easily been condensed into being about trigon but they dragged the entire season on forever- it did not need to be split into two seasons. episode two and nine were entirely unneeded im sorry the hawk and dove thing was so stupid they offered NOTHING to the storyline. they genuinely weren’t connected to the plot in the slightest. they brought nothing to the table. edgy takes on superheroes are almost always done badly and this one wasn’t great. robins identity crisis was so stupid they should have either made it like 6 months since he left being robin or let him already start out as nightwing. i love beast boy but it was clear they didn’t know what to do with him, he was just kinda there. bringing trigon into earth was SUCH a boring ass scene im still so pissed about it. all that hype for nothing. kori’s backstory honestly should have been explored more i feel like it was still pretty underutilized. raven was fighting for her life trying to be the main character this season against dick. the shadow of batman always being mentioned but never seen was cool except they brought him up in quite literally every scene- it felt like a batman spin off instead of just a dc show. it was kind of borishly violent sometimes. trigon being just some guy design wise sucked so bad.
i think it had a good idea behind it but they tried WAY too hard and made it over the top edgy. some of it was unbearable. a batman that focuses on vengeance instead of the victims is interesting but it’s never done well and they didn’t do it well here either. they seemed very wishwashy over vigilante justice but not in an ethical debate way just a “ooooh the systems broken” vague way but also “ooooooh if i start killing i won’t be able to stop” way too. i wouldnt watch this season again except for the jason episode and that’s only because i like jason todd and not because i thought the episode was good.

Jace’s Mission - S2 potentials...
I’m intrigued as to how they will play Jeyne Arryn and Cregan Stark but I hope:
Spoilers for Fire and Blood....
I hope they stick with the feminist and family angle with Jeyne and keep her lesbian status - GRRM has a few really awesome lesbians and bi ladies and three of them are in this story. I wouldn’t mind Jeyne toying and testing Jace but I’d loathe the Mushroom version of this interaction. I’d like there to be an initial coolness which thaws out to both encounters (Jeyne and Cregan with Jace), which show his diplomacy and warmth. Harry has this, although I’d like the script to start giving him opportunities to show it.
I want the news of Storm’s End to reach the Eyrie just after Jace leaves and show us Jeyne’s face turning haggard. I want Jace to stay ahead of it as dragons are faster than ravens. He reaches Winterfell, dealing with autumn snows and initially has difficulty adjusting to the legendary Northern grimness. Cregan intends to honour his father’s vows I think but he wants to test this princeling’s character. There’s a lot to consider, it means war and Winter is almost there and he has to prepare. The North doesn’t favour a woman ruling but Cregan himself almost had his lordship usurped and Jace reminds him of his beloved dead younger brother.
Not sure how the possible ‘Sara Snow’ element mentioned by Mushroom could fit in. Initially I loved it when I first read Fire and Blood years as it fit into the Lyanna/Rheagar ‘Prince that was Promised’ thing which I was obsessed with and the deal that Cregan and Jace make is literally called ‘The Pact of Ice and Fire’. When the title of the entire series gets name-dropped you know it’s significant. The problem is D & D so thoroughly ruined that for me with S 7 & 8 of GOT I get edgy just thinking about it. There’s a lot of hints in the Winterfell section that could point to the larger mythos - Vermax’s eggs, the namedrop itself, the parallels to Rhaegar and Lyanna which weren’t just at times coded as romantic but also laden with prophecy. I also really see this as the place HBO could lean heavily into retconning S8 and setting up the Jon Snow sequel, they’ve been laying the ground-work with Aegon’s dagger and prophecy. The issue is I really hate that because of said issue with S8 and also because it changed some of the character dynamics of Rhaenyra, Alicent, Viserys and Daemon. Hmm I’m in two minds, I *want* to love it if they can make it work but given some of the missteps I’m not sure.
I love the idea of Sara because who doesn’t love a prince falling in love with a feisty Northern ‘wolf girl’ and I love the whole fire and ice opposites but I’ve really grown to like Baela or at least her potential and I don’t want to see her side-lined and undermined yet again. So...we’ll see.
Whatever happens to be honest I just really want to see Jace and Cregan becoming unexpected bros. When Jace is really alone, under the burden of duty, at the end of the earth in the North amongst these grim Northmen he suddenly finds a confidante  - someone who can be the older brother to him the way he’s always been to the rest of his siblings, who knows the pressure of birthright, duty and the secret fears of not being enough but having to do it anyway.
Then the raven comes...Jace is just being accepted by his bannermen as Cregan walks down the steps, his face grimmer than Winter. Jace feels the ice settle in his stomach. Wordlessly the Lord of Winterfell motions him to follow so he can have privacy when the news hits him as it hit Cregan before. But Jace demands the scroll. He reads it and screams. Vermax screams with him. He beats the wall and bloodies his hand. The Northern lords are aghast. Can it be his mother? What happened?
The prince raves that he has to go, he has to reach his dragon and go now and kill Aemond One-Eye who’s killed his baby brother. Cregan grabs him and calms him, telling him he didn’t come all the way here for nothing and a storm is on its way as snow flies past the windows.
The whole thing comes out - Lucerys - a innocent boy and nephew of Aemond, under oath as an envoy - brutally murdered in the skies above Storm’s End. He’d been hounded out of Guest Right in Lord Boros’s hall. If the Northerners weren’t for Jace and Rhaenyra beforehand, they are to a man now. Cregan pledges his sword and the North for Jacaerys and his mother - the Dragon Queen and the whole hall rings with the shouts as only Winterfell can.
In his moment of greatest anguish and guilt Jace wins the frozen North and finds fellowship and brotherhood where he least expected it.
I really hope they develop that angle fully as it’s the heart of the Starks and the Targaryrens that I love and it’s that bond of brotherhood that Cregan and Roddy take with them long afterwards.

One of the asks mentioned that Fakir is not the edgiest character. He's not. Unsure if they were referring to Mytho (when cursed) or the angsty villain raven, or the angsty villain raven's daughter. There's Princess Kraehe who was abandoned by her parents and raised by an angsty abusive raven. She's constantly brooding on rooftops. She also encouraged Fakir to stab his friend to get rid of his emotions, because she too was terrified of emotions. She has an angsty magical girl transformation that give her the powers of the ravens. She both controls ravens, and uses their power to seduce people to steal their hearts. She also stole one of Mytho's emotions (love), dipped it in raven's blood and gave it back to him so that she would be the only one that he loved. She's great. But then there's Mytho who,,,,well he's the one who doesn't have emotions for most of the anime, then he gets more emotions back however one of which is cursed (By crowgirl). The cursed emotion made him Very angsty. He destroys things to cause other's pain and yells about how no one will love him. Cursed Mytho also jumps out a window a few times to make Fakir look like an asshole. There's more about cursed Mytho but that's all I can remember.
I want everyone to know that I'm never watching Princess Tutu so that my perception of it can forever be "duck girl goes to raven infested ballet school for edgelords"

OC #07 - Lucy
Well? Here she be.
This is my third and also overall main PT OC - Lucy. There’s...a lot to be talked about here. This is going to be the longest introduction post. Fitting to the last OC I’ll introduce. You know what they say, the best comes last.
So...where do I start?
Lucy is, just like Raiden, seventeen years old (as Raiden didn’t age or grow while being magically locked in Kinkan with Amalia - he is from the fairy tale world after all, so the same thing happened that also happened to Mytho.) had a decent early life. She was born in Kinkan and when she was three years old, the Raven emerged. Mira, Lucy’s mother, knew well what danger this creature could pose and intended to escape the town with her child, as Brendan, her husband, was out of town already. But a couple of raven soldiers soon came to surround the woman and the girl, with the Raven giving them full attention.
Mira was fearful for her life - but on the spur of time, came up with an idea. She decided to bargain with the creature. She would give Lucy up to him, while she would be allowed to leave town. However, she had no intention of doing so - she fully knew there was a prince that fought the creature and if he saw what was going on, he’d intervene. However, she didn’t realise what kind of intelligent creature the Raven really is - and without Mira’s acknowledgement, managed to taint the child with his own blood. That is when Siegfried attacked and gained the Raven’s attention, using his magic to bring Lucy safely back into Mira’s arms. Taking the opportunity, the two make their escape out of the town.
The Raven had realised by now that Mira tricked her, but thought this to be of no concern. He had corrupted her child and while it would be a matter of years until Lucy was to return under mindless obedience, it was the patience he was willing to have. That’s why it was just too unfortunate, that Siegfried had taken out his heart to seal him away. And as Lucy was too far away from the source, the raven’s blood in her veins wasn’t active.
Mira’s escape was successful and she, aswell her husband and Lucy, continued life elsewhere in another town. Eventually, heated discussions broke out, which led Brendan to leave. And in an even odder twist of destiny, a couple ravens kept watching over the mother and her child, yet they had been very gentle towards Lucy, almost playing with her at times.
To find the reason for this and to make amends with Brendan, Mira left the town, but gave Lucy into the hands of her friend, Anne. While there was the worry, no one would have ever thought that this was the last time they’d see her. Mira eventually was considered lost, rumor around that she possibly now is deceased. Lucy, at eight years old, of course was emotionally devastated, running away from Anne and returning to the house they lived in before. Anne ultimately adopted her.
The years passed and as Lucy grew up, she came to accept the situation she was in now. As she was fifteen, she looked through papers, she ultimately found a message Mira left her behind long ago, that said where she would go and her worries that she wouldn’t return. She realises - to discover what happened to Mira and why everything happened the way it did, she had to return to Kinkan.
Meanwhile, the Raven was defeated by a certain quartet we all come to know and love by now. Some time after, Lucy came into the town. She ended up enrolling into the academy and taking a dorm, having a place to stay for now. Eventually, Lucy ends up meeting Selene - who would become her closest friend and help her in even the darkest of times, when the past comes to haunt her.
Okay, starting from here, it recalls the story of the RP she comes from. Odin and Caras are @tomoyoichijouji‘s characters, Prince Alex and Lytha belong to @loving-daughter and Evanee is from @tarin-santos. They are important to mention as they are crucial to her storyline. Got it? Alright, let’s get into the REAL spicy stuff.
While Selene and Lucy were going through everyday life, a café eventually opens in the middle of Kinkan, where they meet Odin, a young raven, Lytha, a normal, cheery girl and Evanee, a waitress that somehow is very mysterious, too. With new friends and a better life, what could go wrong for Lucy now?
The answer is...Prince Alex. A prince from apparently another kingdom that is somewhere outside of Kinkan (not in the fairy tale world), who is very egoistic and intends to take Lytha’s hand for marriage...by any means necessary. He had his guards question everyone that was seen with Lytha. Evanee attempted to deal with him, to...moderate success. It was not until the one incident that changed EVERYTHING. Even for Lucy.
He paraded into the café, threatened to destroy lives, hurt or even kill people and he wouldn’t stop with it until Lytha was to marry him. And not just that Lucy was already frustrated about this, but Alex simply taking the word of murder and death into the mouth like it’s everyday business hits hard for her, to a point, she snapped, accidentally activating the raven’s blood within her. Once Alex was dealt with (and even attempted to kill Lytha, believing that if he can’t have her, no one can), Lucy starts going a downward spiral. Emotions resurface she attempted to hide and she started to become secretive, even towards Selene.
Soon, she starts to talk again with others, but...something about her was different. Her eyes had become a faded red and she also was a little colder. It didn’t help that around the same time, Evanee - who is a prophetess - discovered Odin’s ultimate form being the Raven. And she told Lytha, her siblings overheard it and told everyone else. This whole situation peaked as Odin, just minding his own business, was soon attacked by townspeople. Lucy, who was outside during that time too, lost it, accidentally giving birth to her dark alter ego - Lilith.
As Lilith, she manages to scare the townspeople away and save Odin, but then, she left without elaboration. Of course, the rumor of a “raven girl” soon was spoken around to a point it even reached Rue and Mytho. They, despite what the townspeople said and not knowing yet who this mysterious Lilith is, end up shooting down the rumors, fixing this whole situation for now. With Evanee being deeply regretful and Lucy having to come to terms with what she did, it is a complicated situation...until Lucy, in another Lilith-rush, attempts to steal the heart of Selene’s brother, Arin, only to be stopped by Odin’s influence on her.
Selene ends up forgiving her for this, but Lucy, knowing this must stop, seeks out help. It is eventually decided that Lucy and Odin would travel together with Ahiru and Fakir to the fairy tale world, to directly talk to Rue and Mytho and fix these problems for good, together. From Rue, Lucy discovers that in order to control Lilith, she would have to understand the emotions that control that form - vengeance and wrath and also come to understand kindness and empathy.
It took a while, but with help, Lucy managed to control the raven’s blood - but instead of suppressing it, she decided to welcome it’s dark magic with open arms. Why live with a corruption when you can weaponize it? As it stands right now, Lucy has changed. Her personality is darker and colder, but combined with the love, trust and kindness that she had in the past. Overall, she is on the “accepted fate, is granted happiness” side. Later down the road, she meets Raiden - and ends up befriending him and soon also happens to be a relationship with him. She also meets Caras and even though he is that one creature which’s minions murdered her mother in past, she lets bygones be bygones, as revenge helps no one.
--
And...that’s a wrap. Yes, I told you it would be LONG, but at least she is 100% developed. Lilith is essentially similar to Kraehe, a seductive, villainous alter ego - but with the twist that Lilith is more of an anti-hero and isn’t based on jealousy.
As for art...of course, there is some. Done again by Tomoyo - honestly, if it wasn’t for her, I think Lucy wouldn’t be the character she is today. She was an immense help in creating her, so I am super grateful for that. <3
Here’s Lucy. She has full art, but I don’t think it’s all important. Tomoyo did create an icon for her. There’s also an alternative icon that looks closer to the canon artstyle made through a character maker @bluebhope-art made - if I have the permission to show it and you would like to see it, feel free to let me know.
Tumblr media
And of course, Lilith - but she has a full art in DeviantArt, so head over there to see Tomoyo’s art on her! There’s also some backstory on how the planning was, if you are interested.
https://www.deviantart.com/tomoyoichijouji/art/Princess-Lilith-design-sheet-879563136
Caras’ story is slightly referenced in this thing, which is written down in Tomoyo’s fanfiction, Chapter of the Bird: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/1975370/1/Princess-Tutu-Chapter-of-the-Bird
And yeah. That’s ultimately all OCs I have. Of course, I might make new ones in the future (one is already planned *cough*), but until then, it’s over.
So I hope you enjoyed these little introductions. It’s not all of them, as there are side OCs I made throughout these years too, but they are basically the main ones, so that’s why I showed them.

princess tutu re-watch, episode 19
Way to open this episode with a time-stop. Drosselmeyer knows how to make an entrance.
Drosselmeyer: Congratulations, kid! You got all the heart shards that were stuck in other people! Time to up your game because the story's not over yet!
Ahiru: are you going to be helpful or are you just going to-- oh, never mind.
She finally tells Fakir about Drosselmeyer, though it's unclear from his demeanor how seriously he's taking this.
Fakir: So WHAT if you hurt Mytho? That little punk can totally take it. We have bigger problems, like how we're going to fight the raven.
Ahiru: Okay, but no violence, please.
Fakir: Are you insulting my manhood?
Ahiru: FIND A HEALTHIER FORM OF MASCULINITY THEN! You could be, like, a knight of RESEARCH! An academic! A gentleman AND a scholar!
Fakir: This conversation is OVER, but I will walk you home because I am in fact a gentleman
Ahiru: Are you mad?
Fakir (lying through gritted teeth): I'm not mad, just disappointed.
Ahiru (internally): he's SO mad.
Cut to the next day with Lilie and Pike: You were thinking about Fakir again, weren't you, Ahiru!
Ahiru: No! Well, yes, but not like that--
Lilie WROTE A LOVE LETTER to Fakir in Ahiru's name AHAHAHAHAHA
"Here, take this! If you give it to a random NPC named Bottom, they will solve all your relationship problems for you OR create new ones!"
Ahiru: Isn't the whole point of love confessions to do it yourself--oh, never mind.
Ahiru's Fakir impression is ON POINT, hahaha
Bottom is not a donkey, but a girl named Hermia in a donkey costume--an important distinction in this show. She runs a private postal service, because apparently Golden Crown Academy doesn't have campus mail??
She also has a crush on a guy named Lysander who looks WAY TOO OLD to be a student, but whatever
Uzura steals Hermia's donkey head and runs into the library banging her drum, much to Ahiru's dismay.
Random Megane Guy Who Is Always In the Library: SHUT UP!!!
Ahiru: Why are you here, Fakir?
Fakir: Well, I decided to take your advice and try being a scholar. Just for a bit. I can always save the sword for later if things get tough.
Random Gossip Wallabies (?): Oh, no! Mytho took Hermia to the school make-out point!
Evil!Mytho: Have I mentioned how much I like your ASS?
Evil!Mytho: See, Rue, I told you girls love puns!
Tutu: Hermia, You have to tell your crush your feelings because I can't ever tell mine, and SOMEONE should be happy!
Hermia takes Tutu's advice, and it turns out Lysander is in love with her too, and even made a sculpture of her--this would have been so creepy if his feelings hadn't been reciprocated, but thankfully, it all works out.
Uzura finds the fake love letter to Fakir and gives it to him. Cut to Fakir showing up the next day and lecturing Ahiru in the exact same words and tone of voice that she expected.
(they know each other so WELL by this point, hahahaha)
