God, they are so impossibly, shiningly young. And in love and happy but above all so young!

The more the story goes on, the clearer it is that Li Xun is actually a hell of a supportive boyfriend. Look at the below convo. Yes, things eventually go to hell but it's because of whatever extreme circumstances hit. What truly matters (and drama gives us plenty of material to determine this) is how they are as a couple in everyday normal moments. I mean, even in a drama, the bulk of time is not spent in life-ruining crises. Also, I love how the good girl ZY, despite being clear her mom would kill her if she starts a company with the boyfriend mom hates instead of going for grad school and despite that boyfriend not pressuring her at all, decides to join all in.

Seeing them so happy and so whole and remembering the beginning brings a hell of a lot of poignancy to these blissful scenes where they plan a future full of hope and joy which will get so derailed...

I'm going to be honest, personally, I don't like Olu and Zheng Yi Sao together and I can't believe Olu is completely ditching Stede and his found family for her. Stede was being an asshole, but not at this part. I'd be fucking pissed and really really sad if someone I saved without a second thought and survived through thick and thin with ditched me for a lady they made out with once. I mean yes, she is cool, but their "love" doesn't even seem that meaningful it would have made much more sense for Olu to be with Jim. Their relationship built up a lot during season one, then they got separated for a bit because of Blackbeard, but then they're back and it's not even spoken about? They don't necessarily have to have a romantic relationship but I suppose it didn't make much sense.

And now he, Jim, and Archie are just leaving Stede out of nowhere?? Zys was just about to kill them and then Olu has one convo with her and suddenly they're okay and want to completely ditch Stede and their entire history together for her?? ESPECIALLY. After Ed JUST left Stede, (not that they knew about that) but yeah that's got to fucking hurt, of COURSE he's being an asshole.

And no offense but who even is Archie? Why does Archie even exist???? The fact that Archie came out of fucking nowhere like she was just there in season two with no explanation. Archie's fine I guess I feel like Jim's character now is just Archie. Jim had so much development in season one and now they're just there, chaotic, and having fun, and as entertaining as it might be, I saw another tumblr post that describe it well, they're completely vico- ified now and don't really have a character or purpose now.

This is by no means a criticizing or complaining post, I love the show very much and I'm very scared for whatever Jenkins has in store for us tomorrow. Season Two finale is TOMORROW and I'm so excited to be devastated. This season has felt so short, I hope the finale's a bit longer. (anyway, anyway, tldr im a stede bonnet apologist)

I can’t wait for the possibility that when Subz logs on to start building ihob, Mapicc will probably be there and be so utterly confused on why Subz is back at spawn building and if he should let him be or do something about it. I wanna believe Mapicc prefers Subz around and won’t immediately jump him

Ooo, a Hogwarts Au...I haven't written a Hogwarts au in years...how exciting (I feel like I should preface this au that I don’t agree with anything that JKR says or does, this is just a headcanon and I still very much enjoy the world of HP just...not with all the bullshit that comes with it so please don’t get up in arms)

Bai Yutong is obviously a Gryffindor.  Obviously.  

Zhan Yao, you’d think, would be a Ravenclaw right? Wrong.  He’s a Slytherin baby (because I have a thing for Gryffindor x Slytherin okay, like sue me)

Bai Yutong is the captain of the Gryffindor quidditch team while Zhan Yao promptly says “fuck sports and physical activity in general”

If you’re looking for Zhan Yao, you could probably find him either working on potions (because he was wicked good with potions) or you could find him practicing his spells in the Slytherin common room (when no one was around)

Bai Yutong and Zhan Yao…they don’t get along.  Obviously.  Bai Yutong’s a Gryffindor, Zhan Yao’s a Slytherin, house rivals, all that lovely jazz

The thing is, Bai Yutong and Zhan Yao were friends when they were younger, before they went to Hogwarts

And they told each other they would remain friends, no matter what house they got in, but that was before they got the houses they were assigned.  That promise promptly went right out the fucking window

Bai Yutong is insanely popular and has plenty of girls hanging off of him all the time while Zhan Yao is more of a recluse, always keeping to himself

He doesn’t have a lot of friends, but he does have a few: Ma Han, a Gryffindor, Jiang Ling, a Ravenclaw, and Gongsun Zhe, another Slytherin

He’s surprised that Ma Han agreed to be his friend because, you know, house rivalries and all, but Ma Han just smiles and smacks him on the arm

“A friend of Jiang Ling is a friend of mine”

Bai Yutong of course, has friends too, all of whom are Gryffindor: Wang Shao, Zhao Fu, and Feng Jie

The one thing that sets Bai Yutong apart from most Gryffindors is that he’s not okay with bullying other houses, especially Slytherin. Yeah, they might have a rivalry, but bullying others is not cool

So when he sees some Gryffindors bullying Zhan Yao (well, not really bullying but they are inconveniencing him), he quickly walks over to them, about to tell them to fuck off when Zhan Yao promptly whips out his wand and flicks it, sending the gryffindors flying

Bai Yutong stares at him with wide eyes and watches as he walks away before he shakes his head; he’s never seen someone silently cast a spell on anyone before…holy shit, that was hot

He then quickly runs after him, since he was going to do that in the first place, and places a hand on his shoulder

“Cat!”

Zhan Yao looks over at him in shock before he huffs

“Bai Yutong.  What do you want?  Come to annoy me too?”

Bai Yutong shakes his head

“No, I just came to tell you that what you did was fucking badass!  I’ve never seen someone cast a spell without speaking before…no wonder everyone says you’re really good”

Zhan Yao looks at him in shock before he blushes slightly and looks away

“It wasn’t…it wasn’t that cool”

Bai Yutong scoffs

“Oh there you go, being modest again.  You’re fucking cool, Zhan Yao!  Why don’t you believe it?”

Zhan Yao huffs

“Maybe because it’s coming from someone who’s supposed to be my rival?”

Bai Yutong groans

“Screw the rivalry for like…five seconds, okay and let me fucking compliment you”

Zhan Yao looks at him before he smiles and nods

“Alright.  Thank you”

Bai Yutong grins before he tilts his head

“Hey, you gonna come to the quidditch match this weekend?”

Zhan Yao blinks

“Oh, there’s a match this weekend?”

Bai Yutong rolls his eyes

“Do you pay attention to anything that happens here?”

Zhan Yao chuffs

“Not really.  I’m just trying to fucking graduate, Yutong”

Bai Yutong huffs

“Well, can you come to this one please?  I’ve searched the stands for you but I’ve never seen you”

Zhan Yao’s eyes widen in surprise

“You’ve…you’ve been looking for me?”

Bai Yutong huffs

“Uh, yeah, cuz you’re my best friend.  I thought—”

He then turns away, a surprisingly vulnerable look on his face

“I thought my best friend would be there to support me”

Zhan Yao looks at him in shock before he looks around, making sure that no one is around before he grabs Bai Yutong’s hand and drags him into a private corridor, Bai Yutong looking at him in surprise

“Zhan Yao, what are you—”

Zhan Yao then leans forward and presses a kiss to Bai Yutong’s forehead, huffing

“Stupid Mouse, if you had wanted me there, you should have said something”

Bai Yutong looks at him in shock

“Really?”

Zhan Yao smiles

“I might not be up in the stands but…I still would have been there.  To watch”

Bai Yutong grins

“So you’ll be there this weekend?  Up in the stands this time?”

Zhan Yao smiles

“Sure…just this once though”

Bai Yutong grins and surges forward, kissing Zhan Yao on the lips before he pulls away

“Great, see you this weekend”

He then leaves the private corridor, Zhan Yao waiting a few moments before he slips out and heads in the opposite direction, reaching up to gently touch his lips where Bai Yutong had kissed him

That weekend, Zhan Yao goes to the quidditch match and slips into the stands, getting a decent front row seat so that could watch Bai Yutong in all of his glory

“Didn’t take you for a sports fan”

Zhan Yao turns to see Gongsun smirking at him, making him smirk in reply

“I didn’t take you for one either”

Gongsun shrugs

“Figured I could show Yutong some support”

Zhan Yao hums

“That’s why I’m here”

Gongsun hums

“You must love him a lot then to get out of your comfort zone and come here”

Zhan Yao looks at him in shock

“I don’t—”

Gongsun shoots him a look

“Don’t fucking lie to me, you guys have been friends for how long?”

Zhan Yao doesn’t answer, causing Gongsun to nod

“Exactly”

Zhan Yao huffs, just as the game begins, drawing his attention to the field

The game is exciting and everyone is having a good time until Zhan Yao frowns and looks at Bai Yutong, noticing that…something’s off

“Gongsun…look at Bai Yutong’s broom.  What’s wrong with it?”

Gongsun looks at Bai Yutong’s broom and notices that the thing practically has a mind of its own and is just flying around the field, Bai Yutong desperately hanging on for dear life

“Shit, he’s going to fall if he’s not careful”

Then suddenly, Bai Yutong’s broom bucks, sending Bai Yutong careening towards the ground, Zhan Yao’s eyes widening

“BAI YUTONG!”

He then grabs his wand and points it at Bai Yutong

“ACCIO MOMENTUM!”

Gongsun pulls out his wand and shouts the same spell, both wizards doing their best to slow Bai Yutong down so that he doesn’t become a fucking pancake, but he’s falling too fast, even for both Zhan Yao and Gongsun

“ACCIO MOMENTUM!”

Gongsun and Zhan Yao look up to see from across the stadium, Ma Han and Bai Yutong’s cousin, Bai Chi, also have their wands up, pointing at Bai Yutong’s body, hoping to help slow him down

Wang Shao and Zhao Fu, who are also on the quidditch team, race after Bai Yutong to try and catch him, but he slips right past them and crashes into the ground, but not hard enough to kill…just hard enough to break some bones

Gongsun and Zhan Yao quickly race down out of the stands to the field, Wang Shao and Zhao Fu landing beside them, Ma Han, Bai Chi, and Jiang Ling soon joining them

“We need to get him to the infirmary wing”

The friends then rush Bai Yutong to the infirmary wing, where he’s looked after by the nurses.  While he’s being looked at, Zhan Yao huffs

“Someone jinxed his broom”

Zhao Fu frowns

“But why?”

Zhan Yao shakes his head

“Don’t know.  But you should figure it out, since you’re his teammates”

Zhao Fu and Wang Shao nod before they turn and head off to investigate, Ma Han, Bai Chi, and Jiang Ling following after them because shit, they wanna help to

Gongsun looks at Zhan Yao and claps him on the shoulder

“I’ll leave Bai Yutong to you”

Zhan Yao nods, just as Madam Pomfrey comes out

“You should be able to see him now”

Zhan Yao looks over at her and nods before he heads into the infirmary, walking over to Bai Yutong’s bed, sitting down next to it as Bai Yutong looks over at him

“What happened?

Zhan Yao sighs

“Someone jinxed your broom”

Bai Yutong groans as Zhan Yao reaches out and pats his hand

“Don’t worry, the others are investigating.  I’m here to keep you company”

Bai Yutong looks over at him and smiles

“Lucky me”

Zhan Yao chuckles as Bai Yutong raises an eyebrow

“So, what did you think?  Was I cool?”

Zhan Yao laughs and reaches out, tweaking his nose

“So egotistical”

His face then softens

“But yes, you were very cool”

Bai Yutong grins before he turns his hand over and takes Zhan Yao’s hand in his

“Cat”

Zhan Yao raises an eyebrow

“Hmm?”

“When I get out of here, go out with me?”

Zhan Yao looks at him in surprise

“You…you wanna go out with me?”

Bai Yutong nods

“Uh, duh.  I would have asked you out sooner but…I think the house rivalry got to my head. And I’m sorry about that too.  For treating you shitty for the past few years”

Zhan Yao smiles sadly

“I’m not going to lie…I did miss my best friend”

Bai Yutong nods

“Which is why we should date!  So we’re never apart again!”

Zhan Yao huffs

“Except we live in different dorms, stupid”

Bai Yutong waves his hand

“Bah, details”

Zhan Yao chuckles before he nods

“Alright”

Bai Yutong looks at him with wide eyes

“Alright?”

Zhan Yao gently flicks him in the head, causing him to flinch

“I’ll date you”

Bai Yutong grins before he winces and rubs his head

“You can’t hurt me, I’m injured”

“You big baby”

He then leans down and presses a kiss to Bai Yutong’s forehead

“There.  Better?”

Bai Yutong grins before he grabs the back of Zhan Yao’s neck and drags him down, kissing him on the lips again before pulling away

“Now I am”

Zhan Yao huffs and gently smacks him on the arm

“Shameless”

“I’m a Gryffindor, babe.  It’s in my blood”

The Boy I Knew

"Hey, you going to the party tonight, right?" Kendra asks.

"Oh man, I forgot all about that! Do I have to?"

"Yes, because I don't want to be by myself."

"You won't be by yourself, you'll have the guys."

No, thank you. Besides, I know you're not going to miss out on the opportunity to see your boo." 

"I don't know..."

"Come on, stop being so boring. You used to go out all the time before..." She stops catching herself.

"I know I used to do a lot before the accident, you're right."

"I'm sorry I keep bringing it up Zy."

"It's ok. The anniversary is coming up, so I get it... Fine, I'll go. And stop calling him my damn boo!"

"Wait, are you sure? I don't want to rush you."

"Yeah, Auntie was saying I haven't been out much either, so I'll go. But I'm not going to be out too late. I can't miss curfew."

"Yay! Thank you!" She says happily, making me laugh.

I'm just finishing my homework and about to start getting ready when I get a text.

Kendra: Hey, you know what you're wearing tonight?"

Me: Clothes...

Me: Probably like jeans and a T-shirt, it's not that deep."

Kendra: I'll FaceTime you.

Me: No It's cool. I'll figure it out.

Kendra: You better not let me down.

Me: Goodbye, Kendra.

"That girls crazy," I say to myself, heading upstairs.

After an embarrassingly long time looking for the perfect outfit and making sure my hair is just right. I look at myself one last time in the mirror and head downstairs. To my surprise, Auntie's waiting for me.

"Ok so you know I have a couple of ground rules."

"Yes, what are they?"

"Rule one, don't have everybody in my car."

"Ok."

"Rule two, don't use up all my gas driving around your little friends."

"Ok." 

"If you need me, call me."

"Yes."

"And lastly, be careful and have fun."

"Thank you, Auntie. I'll be fine, thanks," I say, taking the car keys from her.

"You're welcome." She says about to walk away. "Oh, and make sure..."

"That I'm home by curfew, I know."

"Ok." She says, kissing me on the cheek.

"Hey Zoey, you finally made it!" Lamar says happily, letting me in.

"Damn, you think you invited enough people?" I ask, laughing a little.

"Figured I'd do it big one last time." He whispers.

"I should have known. So where's your friend, who was somehow too sick for school but not a party?"

"Uhh, no idea about that other stuff, but the last time I saw him, he was in the kitchen."

"Thanks." I say about to head in that direction when I feel a tap on my shoulder. Sure enough, it's Abel.

"Yo, this place is crazy!" I yell over the music as he takes my hand. He doesn't respond, or at least I don't think he does. (The music is that loud.) Neither one of us attempt to say anything as we make our way through the crowds of people. I also try not to look too much into the fact that he's still holding my hand. Assuring myself that between all the people and the music, we'd be separated instantly, making his actions platonic.

Fortunately, the kitchen is a little quieter and brighter, allowing me to finally get a better look at him. Which makes me worried all over again. He looks a little worse than he did yesterday. More haggard and pale. The dark circles around his eyes are even more prominent.

"Hey homie." He says his smiles wide, but for some reason, it's not reaching his eyes. 

"Hey, you ok now?" I ask, my smile faltering.

"Yeah." He shrugs.

"Ok Abel, why are you lying to me?" 

"I'm not." 

I give him a look, making him sigh. 

"Damn, how do you do that?"

"Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I've known you since pre-school."

"I guess that's true."

"So what's going on seriously?" 

"It's really nothing, Zoey. I'm just tired, that's all."

"Ok, fine, don't tell me."

"There's nothing to tell you!"

"Damn, you're still lying." I say, beginning to walk away.

"Zoey, I just... It's nothing to worry about, honestly." He says, grabbing my hand gently.

"Ok, If you're sure..."

"I am. So have you decided yet?"

"Abel, I don't know."

"So that's a no."

"I didn't say that. I'm just thinking about my Aunt. She's done so much for me."

"Alright, fine Zo, I get it." 

"Do you, though? Because why are you saying it with that mean ass face?"

"Zoey, I gotta go, I'll see you." 

"Abel, wait." I say, following after him.

"Zo, I don't wanna do this with you right now!"

"So you're gonna act like a brat because I won't throw my life away too!" I snap, catching myself at the last second, instantly feeling bad. "I didn't mean that..." Before I can even apologize, he's gone disappearing into the crowd.

"Abel, wait!" I call finally close enough to grab his shirt.

"Just leave me the fuck alone!" He snaps, causing people to turn their attention to us.

"Fine," I mumble, feeling slightly embarrassed. I walk back into the kitchen grabbing a can of soda. Almost tempted to get something stronger. But if Auntie even catches a whiff of alcohol. I'll be grounded for the rest of my life so I decide against it.

"Hey, Zy there you are," Kendra says happily. Lamar not far behind her. 

"What's wrong?" she asks, noticing my face.

"Nothing, I'm ok."

"No, you aren't now spill."

"It's nothing really. It's just Abel, is he acting weird to you?" I ask Lamar. If anyone would know it would be him.

"Obviously somethings been up. But he hasn't said anything and any time I ask he says he's fine."

"Oh, so he's doing it to you too." I sigh.

"Maybe it's because he's fine." Kendra sighs. "Look, you two can worry about him. I'm going to party." She says walking off. 

"I'll see if I can find out anything Zy." He says giving me a small reassuring smile before walking off. I decide to just drop it for now. I'm sure he'll tell me eventually. I walk out to where everyone is, and Kendra grabs my hand dancing around me. Making me laugh. 

For a while I'm having so much fun I kinda forget all about it until I notice Abel quickly walking towards the bathroom faltering slightly. Against my better judgement I follow him. Knocking once I confirm we no longer have an audience.

"Actually I think I'm going to leave after all." He sighs leaning up against the wall.

"But I just got here."

"I know but I think whatever this is, is getting worse."

"Oh my gosh you're burning up!." I say placing my hand on his forehead.

"I am? It's weird I felt ok earlier but now I don't know... I'm gonna just go."

"Well wait you shouldn't be walking home sick. Auntie let me borrow her car. Let me drop you off home."

"Nah, it's ok, I know you have to take Kendra home."

"It's ok she can get a ride with Asia or Lamar. Let me just tell her. Stay here."

"I'm going to go outside and get some fresh air maybe that'll help."

"Ok, be right back." I say quickly.

Once I find Kendra and let her know what's going on. I go outside looking for him but no luck. I even call him several times but it just goes straight to voicemail. 

"You've got to be kidding me," I say out loud, angrily going back inside. I'm chasing him around anymore today. I'll just see him this weekend. If not, Monday at school will work. Maybe I won't be as annoyed then. Once I get home I let Auntie know then head up to bed. My dreams for some reason filled with a pair of piercing yellow eyes...

"Right," I say feeling like he's once again lying to me but I leave it alone. "Are you sure you feel alright though? You still look sick."

"Uhh yeah, no I'm good still dealing with the tail end of it. But I should be ok by lunch." 

"It's lunch Abel. you still don't look better." I say sitting next to him.

"Nah it's getting better." He sighs, laying his head on my shoulder, his eyes drooping closed.

"Hey, what's wrong with bae?" Kendra asks, coming to sit across from us.

"Stop calling him that!" I snap looking down to make sure I didn't disturb him.

"I don't know why, you just don't admit you like my boy." Lamar says finally looking up from his phone.

"Right, she knows he's loved that boy since kindergarten." Kendra chimes in.

"Y'all annoying." Abel mumbles, eyes still closed.

"I agree!" I say looking down hoping the blush isn't obvious on my face.

"Fine stay in denial." Kendra sighs.

"Whatever, can we please eat lunch now?" I ask.

"Can we please talk about something besides eating and lunch I'm begging you?" He groans.

"How about dinner instead?" Lamar jokes. "Or not." He says seeing the look on my face. I consider all possible outcomes for a moment before pushing my own food away with a sigh suddenly losing my appetite too.

"So what do you think you got on Ms. Turner's test?" I ask, trying to keep up with his steady pace.

"Oh, I failed that shit." He shrugs looking nonchalant.

"What? You can't be serious, after all the studying we did!"

"Look Zo. I just don't see the point in wasting my time trying to get some piece of paper I'm never going to use anyway."

"So you're really going to do this whole music thing huh?"

"Yeah of course. We never did get to finish talking about that by the way."

"I just need more time Abel, please."

"Fine Zoey I don't want you to feel like I'm rushing you or anything."

"It's not a no." I say quickly.

"You sure because it feels like one."

"It's not trust me. You coming in?" I ask, opening my front door. "I'm ordering pizza."

Unburied - Legitimately scared of Dr. Crane. Will not interact with him under any circumstances. Would never admit it, but sometimes he has nightmares concerning dear old Jonny.

ZY - It's kind of like the interaction that happens when you put the nerd and the slacker together for a group project. ZY has the charisma to get the conversation going, and Crane is doing the actual heavy lifting. Not ZY's first choice of company, but when it comes to friends, he'll take what he can get.

Dano - This can go one of two ways: "this guy is scary. I like it :)" or "holy fuck what the fuck is wrong with this guy". Someone he can't use scare tactics and hysterical panic on to do his bidding? Either his new best friend or his new biggest threat.

YJ - He would try to be friends, but soon realizes that this guy is in a whole other league of villainy. Being an international cyber threat and criminal is cool, but this guy uses biochemistry to scare people? to death?? YIKES!

Gotham - What the kid? The scarecrow kid from that one bizarre case in his GCPD days? Don't make him laugh. As if he'd be scared of a teenager with a sack over his head. Nothing the Riddler can't handle.

BTAA - They have a working relationship and that's it. If you think he's getting cozy with that sadistic S.O.B. you must have a few screws loose. Not that he couldn't deal with him! He is the artist of crime after all, but Crane doesn't have the same respect for the arts as Eddie Nygma. (Please don't tell him he said that)

Arkham - One of the only people he gets along with. That might be due to Jonathan's saintly patience with him, but it works. Meetings and conversations are quick and to the point, but when your usual company consists of rats and opossums you aren't picky.

BTAS - I don't care if the two of them never interact in the show, they are best friends. This is the strongest iteration of the dork squad in my opinion and I will die on this hill. Just two nerds (and Jervis of course) who are sick and tired of stupid people. Get up to the best capers.

Telltale - Over time, his view of Crane has changed. At first, he didn't see Jonathan as anything more than a fanatical ex-scientist. Now as they have both grown older, they have a mutual understanding with one another. Just two very old men trying to win one more time.

I do love how she knows, even before he begins to take the glasses guy apart, both on technical merits and by finding and broadcasting the rigging video, that he went somewhere and is here now for her. And the thing is, he does all of this without knowing or caring why she hates the glasses guy. it's sufficient to him she hates the man. AAAA! She trusts him boundlessly but the thing is, he keeps earning that trust.

This was literally the coolest fucking thing ever!

Gao's sick face as Li Xun shows how cool and smart he is, getting the head organizer go come work for me kid and ZY heart pitter patter and the students cheer him on is feeding me better than the most nutricious meal. Gao will not take risks or go outside the rules by making his own and honestly, that's totally fine, but what's not fine is his unwillingness to do so but his jealousy that Li Xun will. If you won't even bother trying, what right do you have to be envious of those that do and succeed.

Awww, he really did all of that, making an enemy and putting in crazy efforts (as he reasonably points out, he's been working himself to the bone, he can't crack the glasses' guy stuff in a minute like he seemed to, he had to prep) to make her smile. They are so gloriously young.

I caaaan't! OMG! And that reference to innocent and fragile heart just killed me because that is so what he set out to protect, and he did this one time but as @silviakundera pointed out, we've seen the prologue and we know he won't be able to keep doing that and is instead going to break it badly. But also, it strikes me that from the bits about his time in middle/high school, he wanted to protect and care for his fam, it did not work out and in some ways, this is a second chance for him to protect and take care of a loved one.

“So in a Think-Win-Win situation, why do you think empathy and maturity are large factors in a high success rate?” 

“Uh.” 

“Jeon?” you look up from your lashes, and Jungkook can see the way the yellow lamp puts a little golden glimmer to your eyes, “Jeon, did you even study?” 

“I—I uh yeeess?” 

He can’t help it, feeling out of water as he babbles for an answer like a fish gasping for air. You can’t help the subtle roll of your eyes, masked by you picking up your textbook to peer closely into the text. It hurts him, and he suddenly feels tiny and sweaty despite bench pressing two-hundred and taking a quick shower an hour before. 

Jungkook notes that you’re also the only one who brought their textbook, the rest of the study group either coming back from lacrosse or just decided not to. 

“C’mon,” Jimin smiles lazily, bumping his knee with yours. Your eyes shift to where his skin makes contact with yours, “we’ve had practice all day. We’re tired. The cheerleaders had a rough evening too,” he sends a wink to Sooyoung, who just scoffs with her berry tinted lips, “I’m pretty sure you finished the project anyway, so why are we here?” 

Jungkook watches the way your legs press together, black leggings hugging your thighs. He doesn’t mean to stare, he probably looks like a weirdo if not for the fact you’re so focused on burning stare to Jimin. It’s then he realizes he knows you. A hookup, maybe? A friend of a friend he was introduced to in-between practices? He isn’t sure. He really fucked up not noticing you the second time around, and he’s not sure you’ll give him a second chance. 

Instead of biting back, you flush. You shrink in the uncomfortable wooden seat, looking at Jimin with furrowed brows. Jungkook squeezes his hands between the kangaroo pocket of his lacrosse jersey, wishing he could instead squeeze his hands between the two apples of your cheeks. It’s unfair how adorable you are, even in a situation as fucked up as this. Unfortunately it’s still majorly unfair to you, being paired in unnecessarily hard core-elective with three prime procrastinators and D1 athletes. The professor must’ve done it on purpose, hoping you’d knock some sense into them.

You frown, and press your lips together as you stuff your things in your Mickey Mouse tote bag. In goes your textbook, then your MacBook, and finally your fuzzy pink pen. “Right,” you mutter under your breath, most of the fire directed towards Jimin, “because I orchestrated and worked around all your schedules just for fun.” 

Jungkook’s hands twitch by his sides, watching you walk out of the library without so much as a glance towards their table. He shakes his head towards his teammate, “You didn’t have to be such a dick about it,” and grabs his phone, following you out. 

Cool air slaps Jungkook’s face, and he immediately finds you hunched over your phone on a bench. You’re not even trying to make a getaway, legs spread comfortably as you scroll the Grubhub menu for the nearest restaurant. He calls your name, and you jolt out of your relaxed state. You look up at him, startled at the way your name rolls off his lips. 

“Hey,” Jungkook says, sitting down next to you. 

You blink at him, confused. “Jeon? Did you need something?” 

“I wanna help you with the project.” 

“Didn’t seem to contribute much back there.” 

Ouch. “Okay, but I’m a really good listener and I can follow directions. Just tell me what to do and consider it done,” Jungkook usually prides himself as a smooth talker, but now he feels like he’s grappling on strings when talking to you, “that’s… what a Think-Win-Win situation is, right?” 

A small huff of a grin ghosts on your lips, and he smiles wide. “Not really,” you answer smoothly, “but it’s a start.” 

He takes that as his in, and immediately rolls with it. He follows your pace, trying to slow down because you’re so much smaller than him and he’s so excited that you’re not immediately pushing him away. 

“After we finish, it’ll only be like 10PM,” he follows you to your first destination, a local pizzeria. “It’s a Friday night, and I was wondering if you wanted to go to a party with me? It’s for  Hoseok. I don’t know if you know him but he’s sort of my captain and we could celebrate finishing the project together that way?” 

“No thank you,” you reply to Jungkook, and then you point at whatever item is on the menu to the counter lady, “and please have extra chilli flakes on the side.” 

You said no to him, and it didn’t even take a heartbeat for you to think about his offer. “Wait, why?” 

Your smile twists into something undecipherable, “Not my crowd,” you eyes scan him briefly, taking in the clean lacrosse jersey and the baggy sweatpants, “besides, you’d leave me within the first five minutes of arriving. And even if you didn’t, girls would probably steal you anyway.”

Jungkook feels a little gross at your blunt honesty. He’s insulted, to be bunched up and lumped with a bunch of popular jocks and cheerleaders and all the in-between. It isn’t fair for you to be making assumptions about him when you barely know him and he’s trying to let you get to know each other a little better.

When Jungkook looks down however, his hands are empty because he didn’t bother to bring the textbook and materials he was supposed to bring. His hair is still damp from the shower and not blow-dried, proof that he rushed to the library because he was late to the meeting you spent all week arranging. His mouth is shut because he didn’t defend you when Jimin called you out in the library, even though he knew he and his friends were in the wrong. 

He hates how much you’re right. It’s like you’ve stabbed him with a fleet of truths, mapping out his night down to a T. His habits are a notorious connect-the-dot puzzle, cultivated over the course of four years: whoever he’d bring would escape his thoughts, too absorbed in how everyone compliments the All-Star’s record last match. Girls and boys alike will flock to him like bees to honey, reveling in him and he’ll lap up the attention. He’ll get requests for a quick fuck, and if it’s a nice night, he’ll oblige. 

And what, he expects you to think this time is different? 

You’re pretty, and smart, and Jungkook’s undeserving of you. 

“I’ll see you Monday, Jeon,” you say breezily, brushing shoulders. He gets a whiff of your hair and the scent of fresh bread as you walk away with your pizza pie.

KUROO fears nothing except kenma leaving his side. when he first went to your room and saw the spider cage he was thinking you were just taking care of it for a friend perhaps? he never saw you to be someone that would have a pet spider. would ask you it's there's an actual spider. he got super offended when you said "don't be scared, but-"

in the end he's super into it!! he stares at it more than he stares at you. he asks you so many questions about it and takes pictures of it from afar. would send them to his little gc he has with the boys. would remind everyone "my girl, she, spider, very cool" just thinks you really are cool tho, it's not everyday you find someone that has a pet spider. if anyone is known to have a fear of spiders in the nekoma team, he'd definitely ask if you can bring it to school. you just smack him on the head and say no.

OIKAWA..his bestie iwaizumi loves bugs and would always show them to him especially when they were younger and it’s either he’s not scared of bugs or iwaizumi tormented him with bugs so much he’s forced to be immune to them.

so, he’s so chill about it, it even shocks you. he might ask you if he can take pictures of it and when he does he sends them to iwaizumi to which you see the bug boy asking for the location of your house-

oikawa wouldn't like it if one suddenly crawls on him but he does like watching them from afar and he really loves seeing you take care of you spider.

TSUKISHIMA doesn't have a fear of spider but he doesn't like the idea of them, it just discomforts him. when he entered your room and saw the terrarium he asks you questions about it but also looking away. you kinda get the hint he's uncomfortable by it.

as you both are in your room you notice the way he keeps on switching his eyes to you then the spider and it makes you laugh cause out of all the things? tsukishima feeling uneasy because of a spider? you just can't help it's cute, if you were really mean you'd tell his fellow teammates but instead you tease him silently.

YAMAGUCHI would be pretty freaked out. especially since it was so out of pocket. might message tsuki in a panic like "you didn't tell me she has a spider?" and tsuki wouldn't even reply cause unless you're close to tsuki, how was he supposed to know?

as you didn't think it was a big deal and kept it in the corner of your room, yamaguchi still seeing the familiar terrarium for spiders he's always seen in TV's and pet stores he just visibly turns blue. you can read him easily and you try your best to tell him it won't do anything and he does keep strong but expect the next home date to be at his place :>

okay but he's still respectful to spider, he will ask you how's your spider is everyday and sort of care's for it asking what does it eat or soft and wholesome things like that.

He'd give her a lucture about over working herself while she glares at him in pain (if it's not a super bad one) but he'd also let her lay her head on him and sleep it off.

But if he can't get Canary that immediately, or she can't find it in herself to to stomach it, he'll find a pretty spot in deep space and sit with her in the doorway to the T.A.R.D.I.S. watching all the twinkling stars until she falls asleep.

Beck Oliver: He'd rub her back and tell her she's not going to any classes in that state, walking her to her dorm and even skipping his own lectures to keep her company.

Harry Hook: On the isle there isn't much he could do, besides try to find her a quiet place to rest. But in Auradon he'll hunt down some pain medication or a healer to help.

He likes to hold Zy close when she's under the weather.

Jane: Normally a migraine means Fae's too warm, she does better in the cold since she's half winter fairy. So Evie will try to find a way to cool her down. Their freezer is full of ice packs for this very reason.

Since cuddling is off the table due to temperature reasons, Jane will give her lots of forehead kisses.

Loki: After training with his mother for most his life, he would know some kind of potion or spell to help Celeste with her pain, his cold hands on her forehead helps too.

Dr. Stephen Strange: As a Doctor, the first thing he'd do is give her some tylenol, and make them some of her favorite tea.If that doesn't help, his time as Sorcerer Supreme and working with the Ancient One has taught him a few things about healing magic. So he uses that to help soothe her too.
