CHILDREN OF BODOM AND FAT LIZARD LAUNCH A BEER BREWED WITH LAKE BODOM WATER
Children of Bodom crashed a brew with Espoo-based craft brewery Fat Lizard Brewing Co.
Lake Bodom Pre-prohibition Lager is a modern take on a classic with a dark twist. Roasted malts and the noble Tettnanger hop make this the perfect beer for socializing, dinner, head banging or lakeside camping! Water used from the Lake Bodom puts this over the top and makes it so good you can bury a few in one go, so beware!
Beer is launched for public on February 1st in Finland, and a limited batch will be available through web store in Central Europe later in February.

#FredyMetalShow https://www.instagram.com/p/CCXWkWeFOA5/?igshid=1rd05whdd8a9i

Children of Bodom: Something Wild
Hello, today I have decided to take a crack at another of COB's albums. This is their debut album and is the shortest one that they have done. The singer is critical of his work on this one but hopefully this review will refute or justify his views on it. If not then it'll give you another death metal album to check out. So lets begin.
Deadnight Warrior: This track has an interesting intro with a nice weathered sound and a weird audio sample to break you in. It then shifts into some classical keyboard work combined with some pretty intense guitar riffs. The vocals are definitely a lot darker than later releases and touches on doom metal a bit. The tempo is a lot more balanced than their later work would be and has some cool solos to it. The drums have a good beat and the brief pauses do well to keep the listener from being overwhelmed. The vocals are the more critical part but will definitely appeal to fans of the European metal sound. 8/10
In the Shadows: This is a pretty long track at just over six minutes and features a rougher sound. The pianos are pretty good on this track and have some nice melodies to them. The drums and guitars do a decent job and the vocals are a bit more refined than on the previous one. The focus of this song is definitely on the keys and showcase some of Janne Wirman's more classical work. This song is a good one and keeps the album from collapsing on itself. 8/10
Red Light in My Eyes, Pt.1: This is definitely one of the most black metal inspired tracks on the album. The vocals are ok and definitely were improved on over the years. The guitars are consistent and the drums keep a pretty intense beat. The tempo is decently levelled out by the solos and keyboards which have some nice melodies to them. This isn't a standout track but does features a more classical sound than they would take down the road. 7.5/10
Red Light in My Eyes, Pt. 2: This song has a faster build up than the previous ones and is more aggressive on the guitar work. The keys still come in with their classical sound but this a preview of how they would eventually sound. The keys definitely remind me of some old Sega games that I used to play which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It just gives the song an older touch to it. 7/10
Lake Bodom: This is one of the band's trademark Bodom songs and features a more western influence sound. because of this the guitars are still energetic but are not as intense. The vocals fit a little better and the drums are steadier in their beat. The keys aren't very prominent on this song and only come in to add flare to the guitars. This is one of the better songs on the album and is one that fans should definitely check out. 8/10
The Nail: This is another long six minute track that has a decent audio sample in the beginning and features more of the typical guitar riffs that were prominent on the previous tracks. It doesn't bring much diverisity and is more of a rehash of what's already been heard. Fans will still appreciate it but will get bored if they are listening to the album as a whole. The keys are still good and are more prominent on this one than on the previous song. 7/10
Touch Like Angel of Death: And here we arrive at the album finale. This song is the longest one on the album at a whopping 7 and a half minutes. So this is certainly an ambitious track. The keys and guitars sound pretty good on this track and it is a bit more relaxed on the tempo. The vocals are still rough but manage to push through the song. This is a decent closer that keeps the album from sounding too repetitive, even though there is a bit of length and repetition to this one. 7.5/10
Overall album rating: 7.6/10
This album is definitely a different one for the band. The album doesn't sound to drawn out and the 7 tracks keep a lot of substance to them. I can see that Alexi would criticize this one due to his vocals but they do add diversity in comparison to later albums. This is a more classical album and is one that fans of the band should give a listen to. It wont be mind blowing but it will give you an interesting look at their roots.
