Pieces of Me

A|N: Sorry that it's taken me so long to post this, I feel like this one may be horrible. But I couldn't just leave this in my draft, and if I deleted it, it would make me feel like a failure? Anyway, I hope you guys like this story. I may or may not have shortened it 😅

On a Monday, I am waiting

Tuesday, I am fading

And by Wednesday, I can't sleep

Dark thoughts scratch at the floor of my mind. Dark thoughts telling me that I should never feel love, thoughts telling me that I deserve to be alone. Dark thoughts telling me that I shouldn't be in this world anymore and that no one can bare the sight of me. I bring my knees to my chest and hands to my ears to block out those taunting thoughts. Night three, once again, these thoughts refuse to let me sleep.

"Stop, please stop," I cry. But it's no use. They keep coming one by one, entering my mind and never leaving.

Then the phone rings, I hear you

And the darkness is a clear view

'Cause you've come to rescue me

I hear my phone ringing and see that Chan is calling once again. I dry my eyes and clear my throat to get rid of the evidence that I have been crying.

"Hello"

"Hey baby," Chan said. "Sorry of I woke you up."

"It's okay, I just finished my project for class, and I was just about to head to bed."

"Oh, what class?"

"For...uh... Psychology"

"Ohhh...wait a minute. I thought you said it was due last Monday?" He asks.

I stay silent, knowing if I continue to lie to him. 'He will eventually find out. He'll get mad. Trust me, he's going to leave you once he realizes how broken and useless you are.' His sigh snaps me back to reality and pushes the thoughts away.

"Baby, don't lie to me."

"I...I can't sleep."

"I'll be there in 5," he says. The line disconnects, and I sigh and run my fingers through my hair and start massaging my scalp. I moan in satisfaction, my mind at ease.

Fall, with you I fall so fast

I can hardly catch my breath

I hope it lasts

Knocking so fills the quiet apartment, and I peek in the eye hole. Chan. My baby, my lover, my everything, my Channie. I smile and open the door wide enough to let him enter. He smiles but soon frowns at the sight of my swollen red eyes.

"What's wrong?" He asks. I look down at the ground, but his hand goes under my chin and tilts it so I can make eye contact with him.

"I told you I couldn't sleep, remember?" I tell him half true. He frowns even more and sighs.

"Tell me the real reason," he says. I feel my heartbeat quickening, I take a deep breath and exhale, slowly letting the tension on my shoulders disappear slowly.

"A lot going through...my mind."

He nods and pulls me close to him. He wraps his arms around me and kisses the top of my head. I feel at ease in his arms, and I wrap my arms around him, squeezing him a bit. My heart feels so full of love. In his presence, no thoughts come to my mind, just happiness.

"Let's go upstairs, yeah?"

"Okay."

Oh, it seems like I can finally

Rest my head on something real

I like the way that feels

Oh, it's as if you know me better

Than I ever knew myself

I love how you can tell

All the pieces, pieces, pieces of me

He leads me up the stairs and into my room. What was once ice cold is now replaced with Chan's warmth. He guides me to the bed and lays down, and holds me close. My head tucked underneath his chin, and my hands lay flat on his broad chest. I love how his comforting arms feel warm and protective.

"You know you can tell me anything, right?" I lift my head and smile. His hand held onto my cheek, and his eyes looked straight into mine to show how serious he was.

"Yes, I do"

He smiles and leans down to place a sweet kiss on my lips. He tasted like sweet honey, I never want him to pull away. But all too soon, he does. He chuckles as I chase after his lips. I chuckle as well. He rests his chin on top of my head once again. I can hear the soft melody of his heartbeat, and I feel my eyes close.

I am moody and messy

I get restless and it's senseless

How you never seem to care

When I'm angry, you listen

Make me happy, it's your mission

And you won't stop 'til I'm there

The next day, I'm awoken by the golden rays of the sunlight seeping into my room and onto my skin. I turn in bed, and Chan isn't there. I hear clinking downstairs, and I smile to myself. I head to the washroom and brush my teeth. I take off my shirt from last night and pull Chan's shirt over my head. I head downstairs, and Chan's making breakfast. His back faces me, and I could see his muscular shoulders flex with every movement. I make my way to him and wrap my arms around his waist.

"Good morning, babygirl," he said.

"Good morning." I plant a kiss on his back, and he smiles. "What are you making for breakfast?"

"Pancakes with a side of fruit."

I grab two plates and cups from the shelf. I put them on the table as Chan is grabbing the pan, placing two pancakes on each plate, and then placing some strawberries on the side of the pancakes. During breakfast, Chan tells me about his upcoming tour and how excited the boys and him are. I smile.

The day passed by quickly and evening has arrived. Chan and I decided to get groceries since my fridge was running low. He was pushing the shopping cart while I was placing the items I needed inside.

"I'm going to get the bread, I forgot I was out of some." I said.

"Okay, I'll be here debating which chocolate would be great for hot coco."

I giggled and headed towards the aisle. I grabbed the bread and then went back to where Chan was at. I turn the corner and see him chatting with a woman. 'Wow. She's breathtaking.' I make my way towards them, and Chan smiles at me.

"This is my girlfriend Y/N," he says.

"Hi," I say. She looks at me from head to toe and fakely smiles.

"Hi, nice to meet you," she said. "I was friends with Chan in highschool"

'She's beautiful. Don't be surprised if he leaves you to be with her.' Chan speaking brings me out of my thoughts.

"It was nice seeing you, Olivia," he says.

"Same here," she smiles at Chan and then looks at me with a cold stare. "Bye"

Chan smiles and guides me to the checkout. He scans the food and pays, and puts the food in the car. We get inside the car, and Chan drives us home. Chan parks the car in the driveway, and we grab the groceries. I open the door to my home and we settle the things on the kitchen table. Chan sighs.

"What's wrong?" He asks.

"Nothing."

"Well, there must be something bothering you because you said nothing too quickly, and you've been quiet throughout the drive over here," He rubs his hand along his face. "Please tell me, babygirl."

"Who was that?" I mumbled.

"Baby, you gotta speak a bit louder."

"The girl, who was that?"

"She was in my class back in high school."

"She said you guys were friends," I snapped.

"I wouldn't say we were actually friends," he says. "More like acquaintances, which is not the same."

"Well, it didn't seem like it over there," I glared at him. "Seemed like you guys were more than friends."

Chan stays quiet and grabs my arm to turn me to him. He holds me close to his chest and nuzzels his face into my neck while leaving a kiss.

"Baby," he says. "She is just a classmate, nothing else. There's no need to get jealous."

"I'm not jealous."

He chuckles, "Whatever you say."

He tickles my neck with his nose, and I giggle.

Fall, sometimes I fall so fast

When I hit that bottom crash

You're all I have

I pull back from his arms and look up at Chan. He smiles at me, his dimple on display, the smile that I love and wish to always see on his beautiful face.

"Thank you for everything," I say. "I already know what you're going to say. I don't need to thank you because that's your duty as a boyfriend, but I need you to know that I appreciate everything you've done for me, Chan. You've done more for me than my own family. I love you."

"I love you, too, more than you'll ever know, my love."

He plants a loving kiss on my lips, and I melt into his touch.

Oh, it seems like I can finally

All the pieces, pieces, pieces of me

I lay in bed with Chan watching YouTube videos. I sat in between his legs and rested my head on his chest as he wrapped his arms around me. I smile and feel my body relax. His arms make me feel safe, as if no harm would come to me. When I'm in his arms, my thoughts go away immediately and are replaced with just him.

"You sleeping?"

"No, just lost in thought"

"Thinking about what, love?"

"You, us"

He smiled and kissed the top of my head.

"I sometimes wonder how it would be if we just moved in with each other. How would our future be, if we get married, and things like that."

"Well, one thing for certain is that I'm never letting you go, my love."

How do you know?

Everything I'm about to say

Am I that obvious?

And if it's written on my face

I hope it never goes away

The Treaty of Reviel, Kevin and Hwall’s Story.

an: excited for people to read this. don’t worry kevin and hwall will have their own stories but I put their article/blurb together because it fit. since the stories are going to overlap, i’m going to post about the reader from each story line and what they would be known as from the other readers perspective (if that makes sense). But for now all you need to know is that Duchess Vivianne Lajorie of Belnau is Jacob’s reader.

EXCITING! First Event of the Courting Season. What happened in the Allemond Mansion?

(Cardien,Criston) - This past Wednesday was the first of many social gatherings of the courting season. An exciting time for those of royal and noble blood among the kingdoms bound by treaty. Even more exciting when you take into consideration that this is the first courting season that will involve royalty and nobility hailing from the island Kingdom Of Kridora. The Prince of Kridora, Ju Hakyeon, was spotted arriving by boat on the shores of Criston just this last Friday. It will be very exciting to see him and other Kridorians mingling with the most eligible bachelors and bachelorettes that Criston has to offer.

We live in a fascinating time, where tradition is still upheld but always becomes more modern with the times so that it may sustain itself, and the idea of courting is not exempt from that. Duke Enzo Allemond of Antives, threw the first party of the summer, officially starting the courting season. Taking place at the Allemond Mansion, the guest list was quite exclusive and highbrow. Of course, the Lady Annie Thomas, who it is rumored has stolen the young duke's heart, was in attendance. Sir Pierre Lambert and his boyfriend, Jordan Boudet, were also seen entering the estate. Even though courting season is, in its originality, primarily for singles, it’s still very nice to see those who are young and in love enjoying their youth. That being said we also saw the likes of Earl Robert Baume attended with his wife, Countess Lina, attending the party to escort his younger sister Lady Clara Baume, this being her very first courting season. I wonder who’s eyes she caught during the night of dancing and merrymaking at the mansion.

Of course, we couldn’t forget to snap some pictures of the arrival of the Royal Family. Prince Kevin was the first to arrive from the family, looking dashing in a designer suit. He arrived alongside his close friends, the Royal twins visiting from Praedor, Prince Chanhee and Prince Changmin, who looked equally as handsome and draped in lavish clothing and jewelry. We expect nothing less of those who hail from the kingdom known for its immense wealth. Insiders from the party told us that Prince Chanhee was seen talking to a couple of different young ladies during the night. Not shocking in the least bit as we all know how sociable he can be. While his twin, Prince Changmin, stayed on the dance floor most of the night. Prince Kevin’s night was quite eventful, according to our source, after arriving the Prince had a run in with Lady Y/N Besnard of Martilles, who had just made the long journey from her home to the capital for the season. Unfortunately, it didn’t seem like the two had a pleasant talk. Allegedly, the two of them got into a little bit of a spat. Not much was heard but the two kept away from each other for the rest of the night. Prince Kevin was said to be on the sidelines after that, mingling with some people even having a dance on Prince Changmin’s request but had opted to stay to himself most of the night.

We requested a statement on the matter from the Hazelstone Castle but have not gotten a response. However, when we prompted the Besnard Home, we received a statement by email. The Marquis of Martilles clarified that lady Y/N bears no ill will against the Prince and that the two have a working relationship that was formed two years ago during Prince Kevin’s charity outreach program in Martilles that the two of them worked together on, and is built on great understanding one another. Their interaction with each other could be easily misunderstood by outsiders if they didn’t know how the two of them work together.

Soon after, Crown Prince Jacob made his arrival with friends in tow, most notably Lord David Lavett, Lady Sara Rodin and Duchess Vivianne Lajorie of Belnau. This is just the beginning of the season and things could change but for the third year in a row, The Crown Prince and the Duchess have attended courting events together. There are rumors flying that the two are secretly together but we have always been told otherwise from royal statements on the two and even from themselves. They state that they are just very good friends that have been since the pair were just young children. We won’t push it but we, along with the rest of Criston, can’t help but want to see the two of them end up together.

There were other people who attended but those were the only ones, we had the opportunity to see enter the party. Surprisingly, Prince Hwall was nowhere to be seen. We had assumed that he was already at the mansion, seeing that he was very close friends with Duke Enzo. But when we checked, no one saw him enter the home at all that day. We couldn’t get a statement from his brother but we did get a statement from the Duke, “... Yeah, he was supposed to show up. I was texting him earlier in the day and he said he was going to come but he never showed up.” Very unlike Prince Hwall who seems to love mingling and partying more than anyone else in the royal family. Did Prince Hwall really ditch the gathering and leave his friends waiting for him? Hopefully, he’ll be at the next event and we can get an answer from him.

Are you excited for the next grand courting event? It’s said to be a dinner hosted by Countess Sonia and her family next Friday. It’s going to be a very fancy event so expect the men in their finery and the ladies in their lavish gowns. And most importantly, we’ve been invited by the hosting family, so expect our extensive coverage of the entire event!

It has been revealed early this morning that the youngest son of Prince Taejoon, Prince Hwall, has gone missing.

Early this morning at 7:53 am, The Royal Correspondence of Criston released this statement,

“Greeting to the citizens and residents of Criston.

It is on this early Wednesday morning we regrettably bring you the unfortunate news that Prince Hwall has gone missing. At 7:00 am this morning at the Hazelstone Castle, his manservants went to awaken the prince to start his day. He was scheduled to appear at the grand reveal of the memorial statue for his uncle, the late Prince TaekJo, along with the rest of the royal family, when they found his bed empty. The room was in disarray and a number of royal garments and jewelry were missing along with the prince. The royal guard along with law enforcement are looking into the matter and are investigating all viable options in order to find the prince and return him home safely.

The royal family is distraught and doing the best to take in the situation at hand. They will be the first notified if any new information on the Prince’s whereabouts comes from the investigation. This however, is not going to stop their royal duties. Pertaining to the statue reveal today, The King and Queen will be in attendance. Along with Crown Prince Jacob, his mother Princess Yesol, Prince Taejoon, and Prince Kevin. Princess Seongwon will not be attending due to her son’s disappearance.

We ask that you look kindly upon the Royal Family on this the sorrowful anniversary of Prince TaekJo’s passing, grant them grace and mercy.

This shocking and saddening that this happened on a day already filled with mourning. We pray for the royal family and for Prince Hwall, may he return to Criston in full health.
