This is Toon Zen (Epic Mickey) she is the closest to BD Zenmom as they share the same form yet they don’t share the same info.(that info is shared up till I found out about this au. EM zen does not know much about the au except the concept nor does she know what BD Zen did)

All of them have something unique from a universe that makes them who they are in that world. This is why they are different in forms and powers from each other, but they share similar personalities. Both Spinels are highly valued for their gems, making them an easy target by the very greedy side of society which means they have to watch out for themselves and the environment they are in. Drone zen seems to be way ahead of time and will have to dial back to where her ideas of time are most suitable for the era she is brought to. Zen the Ladybug as she calls herself, is quite big work of a little child as you would expect. Full of energy and imaginations and the fact she can bring them to life can be a recipe for disaster. Being the vital one and the original, she must be alive and safe and in one piece or all Zens stemming from this one will be erased.

An unexpected win for the HnK fandom!

For those of you who don’t know, Houseki no Kuni is a manga/anime about sentient gemstones that fight against moon people who want to break them apart and use them as jewelry. Think Steven Universe if it was 73x more fucked up.

Im going to show y’all a list of all of the characters, their gemstones, and where they rank on the mohs hardness scale:

The story begins with Makoto forming, and being found by Mondo. Mondo takes him back home, and allows Hiroko and Kyoko to fix him up. Once Makoto is all dressed and ready, Mondo becomes responsible for teaching him about everything, including how to fight.

Makoto goes on his first patrol with Mondo, and his partner Takemichi. A sunspot appears, and Mondo makes quick work of it. However, they begin to shoot arrows tipped with purple gemstones.

Mondo and Takemichi immediately recognize these gems as Purple Padparadscha, also known as Daiya. Mondo falls into a rage, and eventually gets back all of Daiya’s pieces. However, he gets broken in several places as a result.

Kyoko and Hiroko, the doctors, appear, and begin piecing the two of them back together. Makoto stays in the infirmary out of worry. Kiyotaka enters almost immediately, and he begins talking with Makoto, sharing stories about Mondo.

Daiya and Mondo are put back together, and emotional scenes ensue. However, it’s now time for winter, and Makoto’s first hibernation.

Makoto doesn’t seem to be all that tired, though, and asks Kongo if he can stay up. By doing this, he meets Kenshiro, a kind gem who’s in charge of the Winter Watch.

The two of them bond over the course of winter, and Kenshiro teaches Makoto things about fighting that Makoto couldn’t have gotten anywhere else. He realizes quickly that Kenshiro was Sakura’s mentor, as Sakura formed during winter as well.

They have fun together, but Makoto slips, and ends up losing his arms to the ice floes. Desperate to help, Kenshiro brings him to a puddle of golden alloy. As the alloy fights with Makoto’s inclusions, a rare winter sunspot appears.

Kenshiro fends them off despite his fragile nature. During this, the gold alloy forms into a solid metal box around Makoto, trapping him inside. Kenshiro comes out on top in his battle, although he sustains many serious breaks. He begins trying to free Makoto from the gold box.

Suddenly, something strikes Kenshiro from behind, breaking him completely. Makoto is helpless as he watches the Lunarians take him away. At the very last moment, the alloy begins to agree with Makoto, and take form as his arms, releasing him from the box.

Makoto chases after the retreating Lunarians in hopes of rescuing Kenshiro, but they’re too far up in the sky. Despite his greatest efforts, Kenshiro is taken. Makoto has to take care of the rest of the Winter Watch by himself, and meets the others when they wake up consumed with shame and guilt.

The others want to know about Makoto’s new golden arms, but Makoto can’t bring himself to recount the events of winter to them. They continue to bother Makoto about it, until Mondo and Kiyotaka intercept and take him somewhere private.

There’s going to be more, but that’s all I have worked out for now.

re: padparadscha's color

to be honest it takes everything in me to not make an annoying post on the actual color of hnk padparadscha when i see them portrayed as bright red. yes it's an artistic choice & i understand that but the actual gemstone is not red. rubies, sapphires, and padparadschas are all corundums, with the ONLY difference between them being the color (which is honestly subjective even between labs). but the general idea is that rubies are red, pinkish red, and purplish red, and padparadschas are some type of orangy pink while sapphires are every other color, not just blue.

some examples:

this is a padparadscha ring (and my cat vivi!) as certified by GIA

youd think that this was a ruby, and yes, some labs might classify it as such. but mine is an "orangish red sapphire" lol

this is pink but it's a sapphire!

and this one is purplish blue, which makes it also a sapphire.

bonus:

this is red but it's not corundum - it's a spinel, which have historically been mistaken for rubies!

Loonatics Unleashed x Houseki no Kuni Character ‘breakdown’

- Off the bat, Zadavia is going to have a role that is 100% similar to Kongo Sensei. Has a close bond with all Gems and acts as a caretaker.

- Gem Loonatics retain their anthropomorphic features, unlike the gems shown in the manga.

-Ace/Cymophane: de facto leader of the lustrous and has a hardness of 8.5.  Usually partnered with Lexi and sometimes Danger, really good with a katana.

-Lexi/Pink Star Sapphire one of the co-leaders with a hardness of 9, Has a very flexible fighting style.  Also acts likes the big sister of the lustrous.

-Danger/Hessonite also a fighter and is Partnered up with Star Sapphire and  Has a hardness of 7.5. Personality is similar to OG!Phos, but the only difference is that they aren’t given the job of creating an Encyclopedia.

-Tech/Nephrite: Also a co-leader has a hardness of 7.  Helps patch up gems after a hectic battle, similar to Rutile.  Also works on inventions to defeat extraterrestrial enemies as a passion project.

-Slam/Purple Spinel: Combat Instructor has a hardness of 8.  The tank of the lustrous, and is used as a Hail Mary pass whenever the Lunarians get the jump on any unlucky gem partners.

-Rev/Red Diamond & Rip/Purple Diamond:  Patrol Partners with a hardness of 10, (they still shatter like HnK! Diamond)  Red Diamond also has the same speed as Yellow Diamond, and has a very upbeat attitude.  Purple on the other hand is less enthusiastic in fighting enemies like the Lunarians, but has a soft side when he helps piece together Red after a battle. (Lately Red Diamond has an interest in helping Nephrite with their projects)

-Tina/Indicolite also a fighter, and has a hardness of 7.5.  Very level headed and also a deadpan snarker.  When they’re not on patrol they also help with crafting weapons and furniture.  Decides to take on Winter duties.  Later gets partnered up with Hessonite.

-Pete Puma/Scapolite: the craftsman or craftscat with a hardness of 6. A positive, diligent gem who does weapons, woodwork, and paper.

-My Moth OC Moriko “Mori”/White Agate: Go-to Fashion Designer of the Lustrous.  Has a hardness of 7. Is really into their job, and most of their works incorporate a lot of color unlike the usual designs seen in Hnk.  If they met Red Beryl they would totally hit it off.  Carries trauma from losing their former Partner Kyanite(Azuli Rama, a blue morpho).

-My Domestic cat OC Kaitlyn/Green Opal: Partnered with Scapolite.  Has a hardness of 6.5.  Often helps do odd favors around the school when not on patrol.  Very cheerful, sociable and charismatic.  Ends up becoming close with Mori/White Agate in the AU.

-Porky/Rhodochrosite: One of the newer gems with a hardness of 3.5-4.  Doesn’t fight on the battlefield and helps out White Agate with their designs and they became good friends. Shows an interest in creating an Encyclopedia.
