wouldn't last long in general circulation. he's too noisy, has too many opinions, and likes to read too much at the desk. librarians are generally pretty bitchy and uptight so they wouldn't appreciate his enthusiasm (based on my own experience working in a library).

would be a great teen programmer though. loves coming up with fun activities and getting the kids psyched for summer reading. hosts a d&d club and teaches kids how to dm. the librarians still hate him but he's good at his job and gives kids a safe space to hang out so they let him stay.

kind of just does this so the income from his "side business" looks a little more believable. still has fun asking people what projects they're working on and helping them find the right paint for figurines. looks hot af in a red apron.

love the idea of him flirting with me every time he checks me out (... at the register obviously lol). would spend even more time at the local craft store than i already do just to be able to talk to him.

i actually feel like fame wouldn't really be for him? he doesn't like the idea of a record label tell him what to do, so he produces independently with gareth and jeff. they actually find some pretty good regional success and end up working for their indie label full time - both with their band and as sound engineers / managers / promoters.

corroded coffin gives me serious rush vibes. they write music about fantasy books and even tho they rock hard on stage, they go home after a gig and read. they like to party with their friends rather than fans and groupies.

Monica, you and me both. i seriously hope they don't do anything to mess up what we've going on now. because it's been a perfect streak so far and i really badly don't want it ruined. but i don't really trust thai bls that much. the dad showing up completely uncalled for like that was a little bit of turn off for me in that matter. (cause i dint think that was a very important storyline, barely relevant at all to what we've seen of Day's story so far) and i hope that doesn't take more than 5 mins to get resolved. forced separation my beloathed. i also worry night and day will not be resolved as satisfactorily as i want it to (tho i hear we can trust p'aof on that) as there are only 4 more eps left and it's probably not gonna happen in ep 3. andd. as for one last thing, i also wish and hope desperately we get a bit of a reversal in their dynamic. with day being more of a crutch to mohk than the other way around. you know just to complete the picture on both sides. anyways, manifesting nothing but the best. -Skate

MORE RAMBLINGS AND SPECULATIONS AND PERSONAL WORRIES AND FILMING SPOILERS ABOUT LAST TWILIGHT UNDER THE CUT (just to be safe because i really don't wanna ruin people's excitement with my negativity. im also afraid my nomnom card might get revoked ;;;;;;;;)

i personally didn’t mind day’s dad showing up at the end of episode 8 because he has been mentioned since episode 2 and there’s also been a lot of emphasis on day’s mom being a single mom who raised him and night by herself, so i did expect day’s dad to play a role in the story at some point. i do agree that his introduction was rather abrupt tho, like day bringing him up out of nowhere while talking to mork and implying that songkhla was his hometown was a bit too on the nose imho, i think it could have been done a little bit better, but i’ve forgiven shows for much worse. once again my main fear with day’s dad is that he was introduced just to explain why he and ramon separated hence kind of foreshadowing mork and day also eventually separating, which as we previously established i would HATE

and you know it's not like im against separation on principle, i do think it could work for morkday if, let's say, mork was offered a job he's really passionate about in another town and was upfront about it with day and day told him 'you can't be my caretaker forever, you are my boyfriend, i want us to be equal, take this opportunity and make your dreams come true', because i do also agree with you on the fact that we've always seen mork supporting day and i need to have day supporting mork as well to balance things out a little bit more (not to always bring up vice versa but one of the main reasons i love puentalay is the mutuality and equality of their relationship). if this were to happen, they could still talk to each other on the phone and have mork go visit day over the weekend, they would still have a relationship based on love and understanding which is what their entire journey has been about. if this were to happen, i would become separation nr. 1 fan. i would be ready to print every single word of doubts i've ever expressed about the last 3 episodes and literally EAT THEM. the problem is that even if we're talking about p'aof, i can't fully trust him with not going down the misunderstanding route and not making them broke the promise they made of always holding each other's hands. i know that in bad buddy he made everyone think patpran broke up only to say SIKE, but unfortunately that's not enough to reassure me

i’ve always loved comics but i was not really a marvel kid — mostly a dc/image/mirage kid. i’ve also always loved comics adaptions (my dad and i had a complicated relationship to put it mildly BUT i think we saw every batman movie ever made together, before the dceu…. happened). so i fell very easily into the marvel movies when they started coming out (except the hulk movies. i don’t believe in those.)

anyway i honestly just saw gotg 1 because it was a comic book movie. i didn’t know much about it walking in. i actually didn’t love the first movie in my first viewing. i can’t remember why - maybe i already hated chris pratt lol. i know i thought starlord as a character was kinda…boring. but what saved the movie for me was groot (adored him) and rocket (the minute we saw that fuckin raccoon’s back i was like…wtf why isn’t this movie about him??).

and you know. there was the snark. the voice. all that. i was in denial but it was there. im just predisposed to love a grumpy wounded person desperately trying to hide a heart of gold

then gotg 2 came out and i loved it. it was probably in my top three favorite marvel movies. it was so good i think it made the first movie better??? we got to see so much more of not just rocket’s backstory but who he is. how he interacts with people he loves. how he self-sabotages. how he shows care. i just wanted to bundle him up and protect him. and aside from rocket, this is also where i fell in love with yondu. and i am a sucker for a sibling dynamic (startling no-one) so i loved the nebula & gamora arc too.

i probably started rewatching both movies at this point. not obsessively but they were definitely comfort rewatches. and partner has the marvel unlimited app so i was catching up on a lot of the comics

narrative structure is also really important to me and i have a rigorous list of what makes a “”good” trilogy (different t from what makes a “fun” trilogy) and gotg is like. one of two or three trilogies that make the cut.

then 3. ugh. once the first trailer came out and it was clearly focused on rocket, i stayed away from all gotg media. put a pause on reading the comics — everything. i wanted to go in with no preconceived notions. a few things had happened to me in the year or so prior to the movie coming out. i’ll skip explaining those because they require their own content warnings and this is already very long but suffice it to say i was predisposed to feel very strongly about this movie.

so. 3 broke my heart but it also put it back together. i think it might be the most realistically hopeful movie i’ve ever seen. from a narrative perspective, each character is so loved by gunn. they were each given the ending they needed and deserved. but also i felt like the message of the movie was this:

no matter how fucked up and ugly you think you or your past are, you deserve to allow yourself the possibility of joy & connection.

and i just. i needed that. as a mental health professional, i think almost all the clients ive ever worked with have needed that. i think a lot of the world needs that.

anyway that’s how i fell in love

ok i’m gonna talk about the RWRB Movie...

SPOILER: i’m gonna be negative and i’m not planning on watching the movie (i guess that means ppl are gonna block me??? idk why ppl are just mass blocking because of this but whatever) (edit: per a suggestion I swapped the tag on this post so it isn't tagged under "rwrb movie")

so i’m gonna start by saying that i’ve watched the trailer a few times and honestly i love the vibes, it makes me smile ever time.

-the kiss is great

-the butt slap is everything

-Henry’s facial expressions *chefs kiss*

-the visible chain around Alex neck. yes

i’m also gonna say that its great that people ARE going to see the movie, we need more queer movies and the only way for that to happen is if ppl watch the ones that are being made now.

so the bad.

honestly i could deal with a lot of the little things.  like they make my eye twitch a little but i do actually understand that you can’t 100% remake a book into a movie.

 BUT

it’s June that i can’t forgive.

if i’m wrong and she is in the movie than amazing and i redact everything but it doesn’t seem to be that way.

removing June makes me SO angry.  its like removing Alice from Twilight or Sam from Lord of the Rings.  if Main Characters are just the romantic leads (Alex and Henry) than June defiantly falls into secondary tier - all the Super Six kinda do (Bea would be the most removable for me but is is also necessary for Henry’s development as much as June is for Alex.

June balances Alex out.  the book even specifically states WHY all of the White House Trio are needed (page 28: “Alex pushes them. June steadies them. Nora keeps them honest.”) She keeps him sane and she put her life on hold to watch out for Alex, and Alex knows this!

the idea of Alex being an only child is terrifying.  he is already kinda selfish (i say that lovingly) and “a little shit” without growing up with an older sibling to shut him up he would be a monster (and Nora doesn’t count because first they don’t actually meet until Ellen is running with Mike as VP and second Nora’s personality is to “go with the flow” to really steady Alex)

June also has some important moments that happen in the book! like it doesn’t really work to have Nora be fake dating Henry for the like 2 days that that happens and no June means no Magazine moment (i know that isn’t really directly in the book but its a fav for everyone).  no June also really changes the tone of the Lake House....

ANWAY, moving away from June here is some other things that i don’t like (because its my rant and i want to, feel free to change my mind)

- the height difference (i did love the lifts comment in the trailer but idk if they’ll be able to keep that up in a way that makes since - that means that if they are every barefoot Alex would have to be shorter *cough* like swimming)

-the actor for Alex is to old.  i know ppl are really split about this but the actor feels put together and like an adult to me (vs. book Alex feels very young - or he honestly acts his age of 21/22).  i think the polo match scene says a lot for me in the postures of the 2 actors, Henry is ok (tho honestly i think he wouldn’t have the loose posture once he rejoined ppl but its cute so pass) but Alex is to stiff, he should be almost bouncing as he walks.

-WFT is Ellen’s accent in the trailer???

-i heard a rumor that Raf and Liam are merged and redone.  Gross and big no.

-King instead of Queen.  i understand why this was done but the tone changes a lot in my head of abusive Grandpa vs. Grandma

-Zahra.  don’t like, the vibe is off with the actress... can’t explain why except the smile in the photos and the bow in the trailer

 -i feel like some of the scenes feel still (this is 100% my opinion and i could be reading this VERY wrong so ignore this if you interpret it differently)

i really wanted to like the movie but realistically i probably wouldn’t watch the movie anyway because i have issues with that so..... i guess it doesn’t matter.

My Mario movie trailer (2) takeaway that no one asked for but I'm sharing anyway~

-oh my gosh jack black and charlie day are just  *little happy fanboy smile.. Great job guys (silent fan squeel)

-ALSO AS EVERYONE KNEW CHARLIE DAYS VOICE JUST WORKS FOR LUIGI IT JUST FITS SO WELL SOMEHOW I LOVE HIM

-im convinced that Chriss Pratt isng getting paid- he's paying them 

-it could be worse I guess but I quite frankly don't understand the people that are still saying “lets give him a chance”

-i guess I could hear that he was trying a Brooklyn accent? But like my guy the vibes need to be exaggerated and cartoony and energetic

-honestly tho won't ruin the experience because (I may or may not be planning something) and its kinda absolutely fucking hilarious

-felt some Mario slander going on lowkey, one one hand “stop, please,  my boy, let my boy be” but Chris pratts noises of distress as a terrible attempt at voice acting is somewhat therapeutic

-i am definitely less partial to the origin story kind of plot because I feel I just prefer it when the Mario bros background is ambiguous and contradicts itself

-THE FUCKING COLORS THIOOO THE FUCKING COLORS ARE GODDAMN GORGEOUS

-on the same note PEACH PRETTY SHE PREBBY PRETTY HAIR PRETTYYYY

-i would prefer a higher pitched voice and made her more like, cheerful but calm and polite rather than like, sassy, but like, its not bad at all, and I can appreciate it

-from the snippet we got, I do think the brothers interactions will be good and feel in character and genuine 

-ALSO LUIGILUGIGICHARLIEDAYLUIGILUIGILUIGI

-while toad’s voice specefically from the super show is drilled into my head, I actually do really like the new one its nice and happy and cheerful

-i really hope they address Mario and Luigi as twins at some point, like with going back to older backgrounds with the isekai please let them still be twins dnjshc

-the collared shirts are growing on me

-i love the lace on peaches dress collar

-the animation is looking incredibly!!!! Like just very aesthetically pleasing and energetic and lively

Hello! First of all, I really love your fic! It's one of the very few that actually depicts both shows accurately and not trying to demonize either show coughcoughbutespecially2012coughcough, and I'm really sorry that I haven't reviewed it on ao3 XD XP

I also wanted to ask, what program did you use for your trailer??? I've been wanting to do animatics for a while now, but either I don't have good programs or I just don't understand how to use them correctly, so if it's not too much of a bother, perhaps you could give some tips?

I use the website WeVideo. Its REALLY simple and easy to use, which is why I like it - Im not an advanced animatic creator by any means. The trailer was the first one Id ever created.

Plus my high school bought a subscription for me for a class that lasted a year past graduation 😭😭 So I was using it for a while off of that lol.

But yeah WeVideo is definitely a beginner level program which was perfect for me. Everything is pretty much drag and drop - even transitions. So you don’t have to worry about using anything fancy unless you want to.

As for tips - again I am NOT an expert I only have one animatic + some small clips I made on my insta for fun. But Ill tell u what I do!

I started off by vaguely storyboarding. I honestly dont even,,, always sketch them. I mostly used words to describe what I was thinking in my head because I knew I’d go off script anyways - I plot extensively for writing, but I mostly wing it for art

A vague outline is important tho for me tho, but I always break it up by each part of the lyrics I wanna use.

After that I kinda just,,, sketch. I honestly am not the best at animatics and this is a bit out of my knowledge 😭 but that is how I made the trailer. I separated it into sections too, drawing a couple scenes and adding them into the video before going back to draw more. Mostly because I knew I would get everything mixed up if I didnt

So, that new Crypt of the Necrodancer DLC…

I’m completely and totally normal about these three (<— has been suffering from severe brainrot for 2 days) (I didn’t know it came out until yesterday even tho it apparently came out 4 or 5 days ago now lol)

So, any other Crypt dwellers finding me (or already here)? If sooooo... who's your favorite character (new and old)? My favorite of the new batch is Suzu lol but Chaunter is a lil skrunkle

I like over-speculating about things and one of those things is the fact that Suzu's eyes look different depending on what you're looking at??? Like... her actual sprite has normal eyes, and on the thumbnail of the release trailer, but in her character art and the title screen art they're kinda inverted??? So I like to think she can like. Invert her eyes at will. Mostly when she's fighting???

I'm honestly kind of mad that the devs didn't give her a tail which is why I gave her one. I dunno I think it suits her

Any ideas on how/why any of them are in the crypt??? I'm running dry on ideas but so far what I've got is Chaunter might be just a lil homeless person who died near the crypt and became a ghostie there and Suzu probably suffered a similar fate but had a deal with a demon that made her turn into one?? Or maybe with the lute itself? Who knows. No idea on what Klarinetta's deal could be.

I could dump about these three (and the game in general) all day. I've got headcanons for almost every character and I was already obsessed with this game before the DLC came out and now I can't stop thinking about it and playing it. PLEASE go play COTND if you haven't. I love it so pecking much adoisjapdoisfjag and all the new details they added in the update at the end of June makes it even better!!!

Okay, I’ve been thinking over the ScarVi leaks for a couple days now and I just wanna ramble about em a bit (obvious leaks/spoilers under the cut, all info gotten from the Centro LEAKS Twitter page)

I honestly don’t give a fuck if Sprigatito’s evolution turns out to be another waifu mon, all of these "waaaaaah humanoid starter evos are Bad and Terrible and Bad" posts have, ironically, made me completely neutral towards them. If I like the design I like the design, humanoid waifu or not

I also don’t care if there’s any new Eeveelutions or not tbh

I know some leakers are saying "they’re not putting much focus on regional forms this gen" but I don’t think that’s true? I’m just thinking these Paradox/Ancient/Future and Convergent Species Pokémon are a new variant of them

Side note the teased "Ancient Forms" are just further ensuring that I pick Scarlet for this one

And of the two "traditional" regional forms leaked, Tauros was obvious and I’m somewhat interested in Wooper

If the new Girafarig evolution is real I am 100% adding it to my team, I fucking love Girafarig

Still no fucking clue what this crystallization gimmick is

Version exclusive champions? Hmmmm… (side-eyes Sada and Turo)

IDK how to feel about the apparent new addition to the Pawniard/Bisharp line, mostly because the leakers can’t seem to make up their minds on whether it’s going to Pawniard or Bisharp

Only leaked new Pokémon I’m unsure about is the dolphin, if only because the fandom has been chanting "DOLPHIN POKEMON" so many times that I can’t be sure if it’s the leakers pandering to them or not

Most of what I’m getting when it comes to the open-world stuff is "SWSH Wild Area walked so Leg Arc and ScarVi could run". Definitely interested in the "challenge in any order" gym leader thing tho!

Hmmm well it kinda depends what kinda movies you enjoy anon! Unless you gimme a specific vibe or genre, here are some of my fav comfort movies for sick days (pretty much all animated whoops):

Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarves (don't be fooled by any trailers, it's a very cute and body positive flick)

Luca

Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus

Legend of Hel (this one has an absolutely precious ending that made me bawl)

Some Like it Hot (some outdated humor cause I mean, it is old, but a very funny movie overall)

Howl's Moving Castle (and honestly any Ghibili movie)

As for books?? I'm afraid I can't help ya there as I almost never read books (I have the attention span of a grapefruit)... tho I love 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, but that isn't exactly a comforting sick read 🥲 Unless you get comfort from long scientific explanations about fish, giant squid attacks and mad sea captains with dark pasts
