so another year is coming to an end, and i feel like a lot has happened to me this year that i should do a little post so i can remember everything i went through and the good things that came from it. under the cut cause this will probably get long

so this year i moved back in with my parents for mental health reasons. i left behind a good job, great coworkers and a place i had just recently finally got to myself. even though i had all that, i was still feeling so bad with myself i realized i needed the support to get back to my feet.

i lost my most precious baby in the process to a horrible desease that took him from me in a matter of days, and i had to watch him suffer through it all while not being able to do anything besides make him as comfortable as i could.

with all that, i also got myself into a terrible job that was so taxing on me i feel like i deleted most of those months from my mind as a defense mechanism, to the point i broke down one day after being humiliated by my asshole boss and finally quit.

all of this happened while i changed psychiatrists and treatment at least twice, so the weeks following me quitting my job were very important to finally give my mind some rest and now i'm in a job that is a lot more considerate and less taxing on my mental health.

now on for the good things.

this year i managed to see two of my faves live, nct 127 in january and ateez in august. i haven't been to concerts in so long and now i'm completely addicted. i can't wait to see what 2024 has in store (hopefully skz?)

through all of that, some friends have been soooo important to me. you guys were there for me in my darkest hours and for the happy times as well.

@secretdiaryofanawkward my bestie, i love you. thanks for being there every day with your memes, rants and cat pics. i cherish our memories together even if it's just laying down in silence while we do our own thing. thanks for helping me while i was on my lowest and i'm pretty sure i wouldn't be where i am now mentally without your help

@hongamon , @changbeens and @cryiingemoji . you guys have been with me since last year and i know i can count on you being there to cheer me up with blorbo pics or to talk shit about people. thanks for your friendship and i hope you know i'll always be there if you need me

Hi Val, I adore the GIF you sent. It is quite peaceful and I'd love to find myself there today! I've chosen John for this one bc I haven't written enough for him recently. However, I should warn you that with his character comes mischief and the disturbance of this tranquility. My apologies before we begin 🙈😂

Snakes and Suitors

The lake appeared as a rippled stone of blue green sea glass this time of day, shimmers of late afternoon sunlight glimmering off the surface in enchanting sparkles that danced and skittered playfully. Its murky depths practically called out to be explored by adventurous children or secretive lovers. The wildflowers and weeds that grew by the banks were as common and unassuming as the men who frequented the spot with their guests, but held a charm all their own.

Normally the Shelby brothers would discourage one another from a double date at such an intimate location. However, today was different because Tommy was dating a posh girl who wanted to see where he grew up and Arthur and John wanted to see the girl who had captured their brother's attention. You had to admit you were curious as well so you had agreed to join them for the afternoon, thinking how much fun it would be getting to know this newcomer.

Sagging under the weight of two large baskets, you passed one to John as you shuffled through the tall grass. You'd packed enough for hungry men, knowing how famished John was after a swim. You couldn't have imagined that you would all sit like statues on the blanket, munching away quietly on only a few of the tea sandwiches and leaving the rest to spoil in the sun.

Tommy's girl, Elizabeth, didn't seem fond of any of you, truth be told. She quieted any attempt at conversation with lackluster or discouraging remarks, leaving you feeling as though you were being chaperoned by a strict head mistress instead of enjoying the company of a new friend.

When the awkwardness had reached its peak, Tommy and Elizabeth took a walk to a nearby tree, abandoning the rest of you to wonder if this was the end of the outing. Feeling tired and bored, you sighed as you watched a toad hop by, leaning over quickly to catch it in your hands for some entertainment. Giggling to yourself as you felt its slippery feet kick against you and tickle your palm, you shoved it under John's nose asking, "Give us a kiss, love?"

"Already got my princess," he said, planting a kiss on your lips that relaxed you so much, you dropped the frog. As your arms looped around John's neck, the little green interloper hopped to Elizabeth's feet. Bounding up toward her skirts, she screamed out, clutching onto Tommy for support.

As he guided her back to the picnic blanket she proclaimed, "I'm sorry, I was startled."

"S'alright," Arthur said with a reassuring smile. "Fancy a swim, anyone?" You looked up hopefully, but Elizabeth immediately quashed the idea with a slight frown saying, "No! Goodness knows what else is in that lake."

John glanced at you, rolling his eyes and you knew he'd had enough of her spoiling the fun for one day. You could see the gears turning before he spoke and instead of popping a piece of cake in his mouth as you should have done, you let him unleash a bit of mischief.

"You know, that's probably wise, Elizabeth, considering what else has been seen out here," John said, looking over the lake with a serious expression.

Drawn in by John's mysterious statement, Elizabeth leaned forward, hand to her heart as she asked, "Really? What?"

"Snakes, of course," John said, matter-of-factly.

Elizabeth turned sharply to look at Tommy. "Is that true?"

Tommy stepped forward shaking his head, "We haven't seen one of those grass snakes since we were kids, John. Stop scaring her!"

John removed a toothpick from his pocket and studied it as though he were deep in thought. "No, there's another one. They're unusual cos of how fast they grow. And they're not afraid of people. In fact, they like 'em."

Elizabeth's eyes grew wide as John spoke. "Are...are they venomous?" she asked, an ardent student of biology, she was terrified of reptiles.

John thought for a moment before answering, "Well, I reckon it...spits, you could say from it's one eye."

"That sounds very rare. I've never heard of anything like this," Elizabeth proclaimed suspiciously.

"Not as rare you'd think," John said slyly looking to Arthur who was beginning to get the joke.

"The one eyed trouser snake has claimed quite a few young ladies in these parts, hasn't it Tommy?" John said as he began to shake with laughter. Arthur snorted behind him, watching his brother go red in the face as he clutched Elizabeth's arm and raised her from the blanket.

"The one-eyed trouser..." Elizabeth repeated before clapping a hand over her mouth. You bit the inside of your cheek as you watched her glare back at John, unamused by his childish antics. She stalked off with Tommy, Arthur and his girl chasing after them to drive them home.

"Well that's one way to put some fun back into our afternoon, John," you said with a laugh.

"Someone had to do it," he said, still chuckling at his own cleverness. "Want to go for that swim now?" he asked, removing his shirt.

"Depends, is it dangerous?" you asked with a smirk.

"Only one way to find out, sweetheart," John winked at you.

Chapter Nineteen

You've been back home for a couple days now. It's been nice to be able to relax and be away from the LA noise. Sure, Philly's pretty big, but it's different from the angel city's chaos. And of course you love filming the show, but it feels good to have a break.

Basically all you've done since you got to PA is watch movies with your family, try to cook with your mom, text with Jess, and sleep.

You miss your little routine of talking to Jess almost every morning while you get your coffee, but being home with the cold weather and your family and the fireplace in the living room is comforting. LA weather in the winter is strange; it's either chilly or still hot. It wouldn't feel much like Christmas if you were still there.

Your phone rings as you get ready to go shopping with your sister. "Hello-"

"Just friends huh?" A deep voice says in your ear.

"What?"

"Just friends. That's what you think we are?" Matthew asks and you can practically see his obnoxiously attractive head tilt.

"You watched the interview,” you say, pointing out the obvious.

"Yeah."

"What was I supposed to say, Matthew? That we're friends with benefits or some shit? Look, it was cool while it lasted, but I can't do this anymore. I'd rather have a real relationship with someone who actually cares for me than whatever the hell we're doing here."

"Y/n-"

"Be mad at me all you want, but we're not twenty. This was doomed from the start anyway." You hang up, setting your phone on the bed not so gently. You sigh audibly, dropping your body to the bed too.

"Y/n, hurry up!" Lola says from the bathroom in between both of your bedrooms.

You get up reluctantly and finish putting on your sweater. You're wearing an off-white sweater that's perfect for the cold weather, black jeans, and cute boots. You leave your hair down and natural and put on a smallish amount of makeup.

After you're done getting ready, you meet Lola downstairs and grab your mom's car keys. "I'm driving, I don't trust you downtown."

"Rude. I've been driving for 2 years."

"Yeah um compared to my 18, I think I'm good driving.”

The two of you go to the mall downtown to get Christmas gifts. You both get gifts for your parents and other people. You decide to get everyone on the cast small presents and you plan to make cookies for the crew members when you get back to Los Angeles. Lola and you split up to shop for each other.

You're not entirely sure what you get your sister since you haven't been around much lately to know what she's into.

You go to a few places before finally finding something she may like. You got her a new pair of airpods and a digital picture frame for her college dorm. When you get home, you plan to put pictures of you and Lola, her and her friends, and your family in there. It'll be good for her to not have to bring frames to college. Hopefully Lola will appreciate it.

You don't plan on telling her about what just happened on the phone with Matthew. You're not even completely sure what happened. Why was he upset that you said you guys were just friends? Sure you slept together a few times, but you weren't like a couple. Not at all. He's a childish, mood-changing actor who just wanted you for sex. Maybe that's all that you wanted him for too. It's over now, so it doesn’t matter.

Whatever type of stupid childish thing the two of you had going is gone. You're not getting any younger, and maybe you aren't ready to settle down, but you sure as hell aren't going to continue a friends with benefits relationship, and with your coworker at that. It was a childish decision that neither of you should've made.

Why does it feel like I lost a friend?

Could you really consider him a friend? You guys fought and butted heads all the time. But recently, you’ve had a strange understanding with him.

You shake the thoughts of Matthew out of your head and get back into the car with your sister and the things you bought.

At home, you both hide the presents in your rooms and head downstairs to watch another Christmas movie with your parents. Your mom is forcing you guys to watch a Hallmark movie. You've never liked the corny unrealisticness of every single Hallmark movie. Especially the Christmas ones.

You sit through it though for your mom's sake. Lola pops some popcorn and you share a bowl while curled up on the couch with a blanket.

A part of you wishes you could stay home forever. See your sister every day and be with your parents. But Lola's going off to college this fall and your dad won't stay quiet about his opinions for long. And you're working on the biggest and best project you've ever done and may ever do in your life.

When the movie's over, you head up to your room and lay in bed. You stay awake for a bit, staring at the ceiling of your childhood bedroom.

You wake up to the sound of distant talking coming from downstairs. You get up and head down to the kitchen. The smell of syrup and bacon hits your nose, causing your stomach to growl a bit. You see your dad putting cooked bacon on plates that are already full with pancakes and eggs. Your mom is at the other counter, pouring a mug of coffee.

"Merry Christmas... Eve."

You smile at your mother, and Dad hands you two plates of food to set at yours and Lola's spots at the dining table. Lola comes down soon after and pours herself a cup of coffee, still half asleep.

It was always a tradition for you guys to eat breakfast together on Christmas and Christmas Eve. Normally, you and Dad would cook it and your mom would decorate cookies with Lola to hand to neighbors and friends. But traditions change as time passes.

You sit down with your iced coffee and take a bite of your breakfast. You've always been more of a waffle person, but pancakes are good too. Your family doesn't talk much at breakfast since you literally just saw each other before you went to sleep.

It's Christmas Eve which means the agenda for today consists of hanging the last two ornaments on the tree (you and Lola get new ornaments every year from your parents) and preparing for tomorrow. You'll also be watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas (a tradition you started at the ripe age of 12) and going downtown to see the decorations.

After eating, your mom hands you and Lola little bags. "Okay go ahead and open them."

Your ornament is a miniature clapperboard. You smile. “Awh I love it! Thank you."

Lola's is the mascot of the university she is going to next year. Both of you hang them up, and then you all lounge around the house for a while.

Lola and your dad go grocery shopping so Mom can cook Christmas Dinner tomorrow. You always have a honey roasted ham, potatoes, vegetables, and some type of dessert.

"Merry Christmas guys!!" AJ texts on the cast group chat. A chain of Merry Christmases come from everyone.

When Lola gets back home, you and her hang out in her bedroom. She talked about this girl she met a few weeks ago and how she has a crush on her but is scared to make a move. Oh teenage problems. You sort of missed those.

"You've always been so bold, it's weird to see you unsure of yourself," you say.

"It's just that... well my gaydar definitely goes off with her, but what if I'm wrong?"

"Just talk to her. The worst that can happen is you lose a friend, and if that does, she wasn't worth it anyway,” you tell her honestly.

She nods. "You're right. When I see her next, I'll tell her how I feel."

A part of you always knew your sister wasn't straight, but you wanted to let her come out on her own terms. She told you she was bi before she told anyone else, five months before she even told your parents. Both of you weren't sure how they would take it, but their reaction wasn't bad. They know she's the same kid she's always been, and she's their daughter so they need to support her. It took a bit for them to accept it fully, but they came around.

You were happy that your baby sister got to be herself around your family, at least the three of you.

"So how's your love life? Still dry as hell?"

"Damn that hurt. Well other than what I told you, pretty much... accept that one guy I dated for like a month if that. He was just so... I don't know."

"Boring?"

"Yeah pretty much,” you nod.

“What about Matthew?”

You swallow. “I’m not getting into details of sex, because ew, and that’s all it was.”

As soon as the sun started to set, you all got ready to go downtown. You throw on a pair of black leggings, boots, and an oversized hoodie to beat the cold.

The decorations downtown were always super extra and pretty. Christmas lights were displayed in different designs and on different buildings throughout the area. You guys also always loved to see the rich peoples' decorations in their front yards. It's crazy what people spend their money on, but it makes for a good sight.

"Y/n?" You turn around to see your old friend from high school.

"Conner! Hey!" You give him a small hug.

"Wow, it's been years. How are you?"

"Doing pretty good. How about yourself, what have you been up to?” You ask.

"Me too. I just moved back here last summer to run Dad's business,” he says.

"Oh really? That's cool."

"Yeah. I heard you're a big LA star now, huh?" He bumped your shoulder.

You chuckle, blushing. “Something like that. Man, it’s been so long.”

"Yeah it has,” he nods. “Hey, do you want to catch up later, if you get the chance before you leave?"

"Yeah I'd like that," you smile. He gives you his new number and says goodbye. You catch up with your family again.

"Ooh new love interest alert," Lola said, wiggling her eyebrows.

"Oh shut up, we're just old friends catching up."

"Sure, sure."

At around 8:40pm, you and your family head home to get into your pajamas and watch the annual movie. You eat dinner on the couch while Dad pulls up How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Jim Carey’s version of course, on Netflix. This movie was one of your favorites as a kid and you still love it to this day.

You curl up with your sister on the couch, occasionally fighting over who gets more of the blanket.

Anyone want to loan me $160 until next Thursday so I can order this gaming PC while it's still in stock? Lol

I wish I wasn't short but I've been planning on surprising everyone with good news! My bills have gotten a lot cheaper thanks to a recent move (still had to spend money for the move which is why I'm short now). That means I'm about to get a gaming PC and I am going to stream Tales games for this community!!

Hopefully it's actually still in stock next week but hopefully very soon I can get a PC to stream and I can get back into GIF making and creating other content for this blog!! It's been hard to do because all I have right now is an old school PS3 and my phone.

If anyone does want to donate to my PayPal for it and I'll pay you back next week just let me know! In all seriousness I don't expect anything and it's more of a longshot in hopes they don't get rid of it by next week since it's a lot cheaper than their other PCs currently which worries me. I don't actually expect help from anyone lol. I do want to thank you all for being amazing people and supporting this blog even though I haven't been able to really get involved like I want to and used to. I will be getting back there, though. This Tales fandom blog has been around for over 10 years and I refuse to let it go so long as Tales games exist and I'm alive!!! I love you all and appreciate you all!

This might be a longshot, but would you ever consider finishing or even writing a few more chapters for Part 3 of the Ballads for a Dead Man series? I’m a new Kastle fan and just recently discovered your writing and have spent the past week binging this particular series… you’ve seriously created an incredible piece of work with such beautifully wrought characters. I finished Chapter 33 of Be my saviour and I’ll be your downfall a few days ago and just reread certain scenes over and over because

It's actually not a long shot and you actually got me at a very interesting time.

I know it's been a while since I updated and I know I haven't exactly been active in the fandom (or any fandom) for a while. I have a multitude of reasons for this, some personal and some more related to fandom in general (not you Kastle fandom, you are always the best), but recently (and I do mean very recently) I have had some interesting changes happening in my life and I'm feeling pretty inspired at the moment to the point that I have in fact dusted off my documents and started working on the next chapter. I've also started working on the next chapter of my Kastle pirate fic, so who knows what might happen?

But yes, I really want to carry on with it. I really think it deserves it. Not making any promises regarding the timeframe but things are definitely happening.

YN'S POV:

I almost spit out my drink when I saw Jamie walking towards me. I haven't seen him almost four years and that was after I broke up with him.

The two of us just grew apart. Near the end of our relationship, it was like we were just two friends who shared a bed together.

There was no spark left. No magic and absolutely no love left. I looked at him and only saw him as a friend, so one night after a night out, trying to reconnect, I broke up with him.

He fought for us of course, but I told him that I was leaving. I hoped that we could of stayed friends but it was understandable when he said no.

That night he slept in our room and I slept in the spare room. I packed all of my belongings up when he was gone the next day and I was gone.

I went through the different stages of course and started to question if I made the right move.

I knew I did and I moved on. I stayed single for a while and really connected with my friends and family once more.

Then I met Stephen at one of the first shows for AEW. I got a job as a makeup artist. The two of us hit it off right away.

We started out as friends and quickly worked our way to being in a relationship. Then only a few months into our relationship, when we were in Vegas, the two of us decided to get married.

It was a spur of the moment type of thing and we had a massive party when we got back home for our family and friends who were angry that we didn't invite them.

But they forgave us eventually and now we have been married almost two years. We recently moved and have talked about starting a family, but that is in the near future.

"Hello YN, long time no see eh?" Jamie said when he finally caught up to me.

"Yeah it has been. How are things?" I asked him to make small talk. I kept the conversation as short as possible, not trying to be rude.

I saw my husband walking towards me, talking with Matt and I couldn't help the smile that came over my face.

"So I was thinking about the two of us going out afterwards to catch up." Jamie said.

"No thank you. I already have plans." I said to him.

"Maybe another time then?" He asked hopefully.

"No, I don't think that would be a good idea. I am very busy with work, my friends and my husband."

"Husband?!"

"Yeah, husband." Jamie turned around when he heard the new voice and Stephen did not look happy.

Adam Page POV:

I saw YN talking to Jamie. I knew they had a history together and it didn't bother me to see her talking to him.

I know most people have a past and in this profession, I knew I was bound to run into him eventually.

"Husband?!"

"Yeah husband." He turned around to look me up and down and I him.

"It was nice catching up with you Jamie, but Stephen and I got to go." YN grabbed my hand and practically dragged me away.

"You know you didn't have to do this macho guy routine. I was just talking to him." YN said to me.

"I know, but I just couldn't help myself. You two have a past together and it doesn't bother me and you know that, but I guess just when he questioned you being married, it slightly pissed me off."

YN stopped walking and I did too. I looked at her, waiting for her to talk. "Stephen, you know I love you. I married you and I want to start a family with you soon. I never wanted that with Jamie. Yeah we had a good time while it lasted, but what you and I have is special."

"I know love. I just let it get to me." I brought her hand to my lips and kissed her knuckles. It is our own special thing that I do.

The Forbidden Door is fast approaching and I am excited for it. These types of events are always so much fun.

But the little shit Jamie won't leave me alone. It is like I see him where ever I look. So much so I feel like I am seeing him when he isn't even there.

When he actually does talk to me though, he likes to make little snide remarks about YN and I being together.

"Never thought she would of ended up with someone like you." Me and him got into a heated argument that actually had to be broken up by Nick and Bobby.

"Does she still like taking a hot bath after work?" I didn't even answer him, I just glared at him.

Just the little comments were getting to me and the stories. He loved to bring up their time together.

Past vacations, holidays, parties and just spending time at the home they shared.

But today, the day of the big Forbidden Door match, he decided to bring out the big guns.

"Hey Stephen, what is your favourite vacation so far with her? Mine was when we were in Japan, we did some sight seeing, but it rained so much that we just stayed in the hotel room and uh, entertained ourselves."

Every single thing he brought up was sexual in nature almost and when he asked me if she still liked to be choked, I fucking lost it.

I gripped him by the collar of his jacket and slammed him against the wall. I brought my face close to his and I started to threaten him through gritted teeth. I was so angry, all I saw was red.

"You talk about my Wife one more time, I am going to fucking end you. I will end your career. I will make sure you never get signed or work anywhere, ever again."

He just smirked at me. "Got it cowboy."

It then hit me. He was saying all this to get to me to throw me off my game. I left him and didn't even acknowledge him when he was calling my name.

I had go find my wife and I knew she exactly where she would be.

She was finishing the final touches on Melissa's makeup. Melissa saw me first and she gave me a small wave.

"Lover boy is here." She teased. YN spun around and she smiled when she saw me. "I'll be right there love. Almost done and I can take a small break."

"Take your time." I said and sat down in the spare chair and waited for her to be done.

The moment Melissa was out of the room, I pulled YN into my lap and captured her lips with mine in such an intense kiss that it had the two of us moaning.

We had to pull away from one another to catch our breath. "Not that I don't love this side of you, but what has gotten into you?" She asked me.

I am usually much more reserved at work. A kiss here, a kiss there, but nothing like this.

"Just wanted to show you how much I love you." I said, but she didn't believe me. Her eyes narrowed at me, and she waited for me to tell her the truth.

"Fine. Jamie has even saying stuff and it had got to me."

"What type of stuff?"

I didn't answer her, so she repeated the question.

"What type of stuff Stephen?"

"Started off with him asking about you. Then just stuff you did together, like vacations and what you two did when it was raining. Then he asked me if you still liked to me choked and well, I threatened him."

"Good. He is just trying to rile you up, which I don't even know why. You all know he is going to win tonight. You are just going to put on a great show. I swear he is so immature sometimes."

"And I wasn't when I threatened him?"

"No, because you were protecting me. You stood up for me like a husband is supposed to do and I want you to remember one important detail."

"And that is?" I asked her as I pulled her closer against me.

"I love you, not him."

"I love you too baby girl."

hello friends 💖

i have an update for y'all. some of you may not care, some of you may not remember, but some of you may have been wondering... whichever one you are is totally fine! ☺️ i just thought i'd give my sensory overload friends an update. TW: there will be mentions of anxiety so if you don't wanna read that, no worries! but there is also a gif update at the very end!

if you recall i was having a pretty tough time at the end of the semester with my anxiety manifesting itself in new ways. the most annoying, stressful, and recent development is that i am very sensitive to noise now. loud noise, surprising sounds, loud crowds, even the wind blowing too harshly by my ears. at first i thought i was being dramatic (a reaction i have thanks to my parents saying i was faking my anxiety for decades), but what really convinced me that i was having noise overload was i went to a movie with GBF and the movie was too loud. and i mean, i wanted to cover my ears too loud.

i got myself some loop earplugs and i've been using them when i can feel myself getting overwhelmed with the noises around me. i first used them when we went to a hibachi place for dinner. the japanese style restaurants where they cook in front of you. i was very thankful to have them that night as it was very crowded in there AND the noises from the cooking were very loud too. so, i figured they would work really well at the movies! and i was RIGHT! 😈 me and GBF went to 2 of the ghibli movies playing in theaters and i was much happier 🥰 the movie wasn't too loud for me and i was able to actually relax in my seat.

so, if you're having some sensory overload and think that ear plugs may help, i'd recommend you get some! i really love my loop earplugs! i have all 3 types that they make, bc i wasn't sure which i would like more. but i love my quiet plugs and my engage plugs. the engage plugs have a much lower occlusion effect (hearing your voice in your own ears) and blocks out 16 dB of noise vs. 18 dB (experience), which i loved for the movies!

anyway, i know that i haven't really been keeping up with my gif posting and i know i'm not obligated to tell anyone why, but i've just been feeling more tired since i started working out again. but i'm working on gifs this weekend! so hopefully i'll have more content for you this week!

HOTD & Daemon and Rhaenyra have been such a blessing.

Under the cut I get really sappy about this ship and the fandom.

I never thought I would be interested in House of the Dragon because I never rooted for Daenerys or a Targaryen restoration in GOT. My loyalty was to the Starks and they were my favorites. Because of this, I didn't hate season 8. For the most part, I enjoyed the journey of the characters in the final season. It should have been better executed with more episodes, but I more or less liked where the characters ended up. So when this show was announced, I dismissed it because if I didn't like the character that is arguably the most influential Targaryen, why would I want to watch a show about the family and its civil war.

So now here comes House of the Dragon. I tried watching the first episode, got to the tourney and I wasn't feeling it, despite my love of Matt Smith.

Then I listened to one of my favorite podcasts that was reviewing House of the Dragon. I wanted to see if it was worth giving another chance. Episode 5 had just aired.

I decided to give it a chance and I absolutely fell in love with Rhaenyra and Daemon and Syrax and Caraxes and Viserys (even though I was frustrated with some of his decisions.)

I love House of the Dragon because it is so character focused and feels more intimate than Game of Thrones. We get to know the characters better because there are fewer to focus on. We also get hints of a love story with so many high romance tropes, which is unusual for Game of Thrones.

I knew nothing about Fire and Blood except for the fact that it existed, but I picked up on Daemon and Rhaenyra as a future couple from episode one, and I started to root for them. Only after I was caught up after episode five did I actually look up Daemon and Rhaenyra and how their relationship happened in the book.

I decided to get back to tumblr and start shipping. And once I ship something, I am ride or die.

House of the Dragon brought me back to tumblr and fandom after many years and an accidental deletion of my blog sent me away.

This show is also important to me because right now I am in the hardest semester of nursing school, constantly being beaten down by how much material there is and how busy and draining it is.

Watching this show gave me what I desperately needed. An hour a week to just take some time for myself and obsess over a story I loved and fictional character that I loved. It brought me back to writing fanfiction again, which I honestly haven't done because I've been focusing on publishing my books (which granted are Jane Austen Fan Fiction, but that is a separate thing).

In writing for stories for Daemon and Rhaenyra I found a way to get back into writing post the release of my fourth novel and during one of the most stressful periods of my life thus far.

I love writing so much, but working on my novel during school felt overwhelming. It was much easier to write short drabbles and a short multi chapter story about Daemon and Rhaenyra.

I am so entirely grateful for this show, and even though it has only been a month, it brought me so much joy and helped me cope with my crazy and stressful personal life.

So no matter the questionable writing choices, I'm in. All in. Until the very end. Daemon and Rhaenyra have taken a part of my heart, and I will watch their tragic and beautiful journey together.

That being said, it will be nice when season 2 happens because I'll be done with school and hopefully I'll have more time to write some fix it fic, which we are going to need in season 2.

Thank you for reaching out. Thats really kind of you.

I haven't been around as much lately. But I am doing okay. I have had a few people asking me similar things lately so, I might just let it all out here and tell people whats going on.

IRL things have been a lot for me lately and I just haven't had the time/headspace to be as active. Plus, if I have an hour or two to sit at my computer, I'm usually using that time to write (or stare at the doc and force out 50 words LOL).

The IRL stuff is mostly about my kids, but I also have had issues lately with my own mood regulation and other issues. Turns out I have Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), which I tell people is basically like PMS but on Liver King levels of steroids. I think I've had symptoms of this for a couple of years, but its recently gotten much worse and I have seen an endocrinologist recently and started a treatment plan that will hopefully help, but it will take a couple of months before I will see any results.

I don't generally talk publicly about my family. Mainly because I feel like my blog and writing is my safe haven, a place for just me. But there has been a lot going on lately so maybe it will make me feel better to talk about it real quick. A lot of people who I talk to in chat/DMs already know most of this anyway.

Both my kids and my husband are on the Autism Spectrum.

My son is 13 and just started high school, so that has been a tough transition for him. He has been involved in a couple of incidents that has resulted in his suspension. Supporting him through that has been tricky and dealing with the school and trying to get the right supports in place for him has also been a slog.

My daughter is 8 and she requires a lot of support at school. She really struggles at school and so there is a lot of time spent ensuring she gets the supports she needs. On top of that, about 6 months ago she had a tonic-clonic seizure that was quite serious and lasted for over 10 minutes. After some testing was then diagnosed with epilepsy, probably as a result from a brain injury she suffered during her birth (she had a lack of blood flow and needed an emergency c-section). So its been trial and error with meds, (she also has absent seizures which we noticed a few times) but after a while we thought things were okay. A couple of weeks ago, she had another serious seizure and we were back in hospital.

So yeah, while I'm okay and my family are mostly okay, there has been a lot going on for me IRL over the past few months that has obviously taken precedence. But, I'm still around when I can be. I still want to be around and still love to write and make gifs and stuff, but its just been a matter of priorities and a significantly limited free time compared to what I previously had.

I hope you are doing well! I hope you're going to have a nice summer break (if we actually get a summer... I know in Sydney its bloody cold so far!) And thanks again for reaching out. That was really sweet of you.

and hopefully read more nuala archer and find some family horror show material from that! i'm also working on a cover for a friends fanmix that i've been attempting to finish for... months, sorry friend, and i absolutely loooove the fanmix in question. one thing is that i love it too much so i keep getting paralyzed with perfectionism 🥹 and finally, i owe an anon a gifset of sarah shahi from the pilot which i am vvv excited to do if i can get the vibe right on it! those are the main things on my docket. thank you for asking 💘💘

Okay this one is going to be a lot shorter lol (hopefully) i need to make it clear that these are completely subjective, these are not what i think the best movies of all time are (i'm not sure what those are) these are just MY personal favorites

#1: Mad Max Fury Road. I could sit here and explain why its so good but Patrick H Willems and Movies With Mikey from youtube have already done that for me so here you go <3 also tom hardy and charlize theron. every bisexuals dream

these next three are in no particular order (and also, I think they all find a nice balance between spectacle and story, a la the Patrick H Willems video

Cinderella (2015): kindness is bravery and so is 'to be seen as we truly are' also its just visually gorgeous, it really genuinely looks and feels like a fairytale. also im in love with lily james and richard madden

Into The Spider-Verse (2018): art. just art. THEY INVENTED A NEW KIND OF ANIMATION FOR THIS. and the story! anyone can wear the mask! phenomenal film.

Set It Up (2018): I fell in love with this movie the moment I watched it. love some shenanigans. zoey deutch and glen powell are so fun. The first quality romcom of the modern age imo (so, post '00s), and haven't seen a better one since

#5: Baby Driver (2017) it sucks that like half the cast are terrible ppl :/ but the way the music is used in this movie is incredible. this one is #5 because I think the specacle/story ratio is a little imbalanced, the story isn't as strong. but what they endeavored to do here is absolutely incredible

Bonus: Knives Out (2019) & Glass Onion (2022). absolutely delightful movies. i love a good murder mystery and I love the story in these. another good balance between spectacle/story. also I want to put benoit blanc in a glass jar and shake it. daniel craig is endlessly entertaining in these movies, incredible performances by him

Bonus 2: The Nice Guys (2016) 'cause I saw a gif set for it the other day and its Christmastime and I feel like not as many people know about this movie as they should (maybe im wrong)

Bonus 3: The Fabelmans (2022) is my favorite new movie I've watched recently. such an excellent film that has so much heart in it. Steven Spielberg i love you
